DP World Tour's Italian Open 2024: Schedule, venue, prize money and more

DP World Tour 's latest event, the Italian Open, is going to take place at Adriatic Golf Club starting on June 27. The 2023 edition of the event was won by Adrian Meronk but after joining hands with the LIV fraternity, Meronk is no longer qualified for participation.

Other names that will constitute the field are Patrick Reed, Bernd Wiesberger, Danny Willett, and others. Moreover, this is Patrick Reed 's first tournament after his last appearance at the 2023 Dubai Desert Classic. The prize purse of the Italian Open is $3.25 million for the star-studded field.

2024 Italian Open schedule and how to watch

The Italian Open will take place over four days. Starting on June 27, it ends on June 30. Here's a detailed list of the entire schedule and how to watch it:

2024 Italian Open venue

For the previous three editions, the tournament was hosted by Marco Simone but this year Adriatic Golf Club is organising the event for the first time. The golf club was founded in 1984 with a unique layout. The red, yellow, and blue courses can be mixed.

The three courses are significantly artistic in their own way. Starting with the blue course, it is similar to the Scottish links with coastal areas. The yellow one has a modern design and gives a tough time to the players. The red course is American-style, with several hurdles for the players.

2024 Italian Open prize money

The purse for the event is $3250,000. Out of which, $552,500 goes to the winner and the last golfer on the leaderboard will receive $7800. Here's a complete breakdown of the payout:

How to Watch the 2024 Tour de France

The annual cycling race held primarily in France is back for the 111th Edition.

Hundreds of professional cyclists are making their way to Italy to begin the first stage of the Tour de France.

This year, 22 pro cycling teams will participate in the Tour de France which spans over 2,100 miles in 23 days, including two built-in rest days. On Saturday, June 29, the athletes will line up at the starting line in Florence, Italy. During the multi-stage race, the competitors will ride through multiple cities and different terrains. You don't need to be in Europe to catch the action because the race will stream live on Peacock .

One of this year's top contenders to win the Tour de France is Danish rider, Jonas Vingegaard, who won the 2023 Tour de France. Ranked after Vingegaard are Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia and Adam Yates of Britain who both are on the UAE Team Emirates. In general rankings, the top contender from the United States — ranked #12 overall — is Sepp Kuss from Colorado.

Ricky Gervais has announced his next world tour and corresponding Netflix special.

“Ricky Gervais: Mortality ” is set to launch later this year and run until the end of 2025, “taking in all of Gervais’s favorite arenas around the world,” per a press release. The special will also be filmed for release on Netflix.

“We’re all gonna die. May as well have a laugh about it. Mortality looks at the absurdities of life. And death. Bring it on,” Gervais said in a statement.

Although Gervais’ specials have drawn controversy in the past due to anti-trans rhetoric, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos has defended the comedian as an essential member of the Netflix family.

“I think it’s very important to the American culture generally to have free expression,” Sarandos said in a New York Times interview in 2022. “We’re programming for a lot of diverse people who have different opinions and different tastes and different styles, and yet we’re not making everything for everybody. We want something for everybody but everything’s not going to be for everybody. Nobody would say that what he does isn’t thoughtful or smart. You just don’t agree with him.”

A busy three-week stretch in professional golf comes to an end this week in connecticut.

The 2024 Travelers Championship appears to be heading to an exciting finish. Taking to TPC River Highlands once again, Sunday's final round has moved into a playoff as world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and Tom Kim battle for the trophy and a massive prize money payout .

Failing to card a single under-par round in a tournament for the first time in his professional career, Scheffler looks to get back on the wagon and capture his sixth victory of the season. A win at TPC River Highlands would be his first at a course which saw Xander Schauffele reign supreme in 2022.

The world No. 2 continues to display his consistency on a weekly basis and has now notched four straight top 10s dating back to the Wells Fargo Championship. With plenty of form in tow, Schaffuele seeks his second win of the season and second trophy at the Travelers Championship.
