Superstar Julión Álvarez y su Norteño Banda and surprise guests will kick off the U.S. segment of his critically acclaimed Mis Idolos...Hoy Mis Amigos Tour! Friday July 15 at the SAP Center in San Jose.  The superstar and his band will make their way across the U.S. for a total of 22 super exciting concerts in some of the biggest venues in the country including The Forum in Los Angeles, Toyota Center in Houston, Madison Square Garden in New York City, The Coliseum in El Paso, Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and more. 

 Tickets will be on sale from Friday May 13 at 10:00 AM available through Ticketmaster.com system.

Alvarez is well known in the music industry, because in his live concerts he deliveres an amazing show and provides a super musical production. His loyal and enthusiastic fans love their shows, which are sellout everywhere, earning him the name "El rey de la taquilla" ("The King of the Box Office"). Mis Ídolos ... Julión Alvarez (born April 11, 1983) is a Mexican singer-songwriter and frontman of Julión Alvarez y Su Noteño Banda, hailing from Chiapas, Mexico.

Prior to forming Julión Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda, Alvarez had previously been in the bands MR BANDA and MS Band, the latter of which was a 15 member Sinaloa band. After three and a half years with MS Band, in which time he released the singles “Ayer la Vi Por La Calle” and “Mi Mayor Anhelo”, Alvarez formed Julión Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda.

The band signed with the Universal Latino subsidiary Machete Music label, and earned their first taste of success with their debut album “Carazón Mágico” in 2007. The album features the hit single “Las Mulas de Moreno” and was supported with an extensive tour of Mexico. With this popularity the band released a pair of live albums “”Desde Mazatlan: A Mover el Culito” and Cumria del Río” in 2008.

Alvarez and his band subsequently released the albums “Corridos” in 2008, “Julión Alvarez: con Banda” in 2009, “El rey del carnaval” in 2010, and the highly popular “Ni lo intentes”, which remained in the Top 10 for over five months. In 2011 Alvarez released the single “Olvídame” which earned considerable radio airplay and became one in a series of hits for the group. In August of 2011 Julión Alvarez was nominated for eight award at the Billboard Regional Mexican Music Awards. In 2012 the band released the album “Julión Alvarez: en vivo”, and in 2013 earned their first No. 1 album with “Tu Amigo nada más”. Alvarez subsequently released the album “Soy lo que Quiero… Indispensable” in 2014.

Last night when I got the opportunity to see,dance and sing along, with Julion Alvarez. It was spectacular show and I love it that he seems to be a down to earth Artist and I would love to see him again. Because he wasn't boring and I had a great time. The only thing is that his camera crew needs focus on showing him while he is sing along with the videos because he look very little and we had trouble seeing him sometimes. But what we got experience last night was worth the wait.. He is a great artist that I will be seeing in the future if possible and God bless him and his family and that career continues to growing. Love a your number fan in San Antonio Texas.

Hello every this was my 1st experience in a concert but the main reason i whent to the event its was a surprise b day present for my wife she a big big big fan of julion alvarez. Im also a big fan love his music, sings about the truths about relationships and how they start and how they end. If i had the chance to go see him again i would, it was a excellent experience especially with the one i love. THANK YOU JULION ALVAREZ

With a mind-set of “give the people what they want,” the chart-topping artist says his arena tour was long overdue but understood why no one had wanted to take the gamble. “To be honest, it’s a big risk,” the “Terrenal” singer told Billboard just minutes before jumping onstage at The Forum in L.A. “Last year when we first did a couple of arenas and showcased in places we had never visited, we saw that there was a bigger risk and fear of being criticized because of the stigma that comes with this genre. But seeing that it had never been done, we decided to go for it. Plus, we saw that there was a demand for our concerts.”

He added: “I told my brother, who is part of the team, that we needed to go to new places because I hated to see that my paisanos  were paying so much to travel to go see our show because we weren’t going to their cities.”

Olympiasiegerin Laura Ludwig , die bei Paris 2024 in ihre fünfte Teilnahme bei den Spielen angeht, wird mit ihrer Partnerin Louisa Lippmann in Gruppe F auf Nina Brunner/Tanja Hüberli (SUI), Daniela Álvarez/Tania Moreno (ESP) und Alexia Richard/Lézana Placette (FRA) treffen. Die Duos aus der Schweiz und Spanien belegten bei der EM im vergangenen Jahr die ersten beiden Plätze. Ludwig/Lippmann gewannen damals Bronze.

Am 10. Juni 2024, mit der Schließung der FIVB-Olympia-Rangliste der Frauen, wurden die Namen der 17 Paare (je Geschlecht) bekannt gegeben, die sich für die Olympischen Spiele 2024 in Paris qualifiziert haben. In die Rangliste wurden die zwölf besten Leistungen eines Teams im Zeitraum vom 1. Januar 2023 bis 10. Juni 2024 einbezogen.

Die berücksichtigten Veranstaltungen waren die FIVB Senior World Championships 2023, die Beach Pro Tour (Elite, Challenge, Future und Finals) und die anerkannten Kontinental Tour Finals. Die letzten fünf verfügbaren Plätze für jede Auslosung wurden in den jeweiligen kontinentalen Olympia-Qualifikationsturnieren vergeben. Die beiden Weltmeisterteams – die Amerikanerinnen Sara Hughes und Kelly Cheng sowie die Tschechen Ondrej Perusic und David Schweiner – hatten sich durch ihren jeweiligen WM-Titel, bereits ein Ticket gesichert. Hinzu bekam das NOC des Gastgeberlands jeweils einen Quotenplatz zugesprochen.

Mit konstant guten Leistungen im Qualifikationszeitraum, hat das sich das deutsche Männer-Duo, eine starke Ausgangsposition für Paris 2024 erspielt. Dank dem dritten Platz in der Weltrangliste sind die amtierenden Sieger des King-of-the-Court-Turniers in Hamburg – der Triumph gelang am 18. Mai diesen Jahres – als gesetztes Team in Gruppe C in die Auslosung gegangen. Vorzeitigen Duellen mit den amtierenden Europameisterin Jonatan Hellwig und David Ähman aus Schweden gingen sie also aus dem Weg.

Im Frühjahr überzeugte das Duo mit starken Leistungen in den Elite-16-Turnieren von Doha, Tepic, Brasilia und Espinho, bei denen sie jeweils in den Top vier landeten. Auf dem Weg ins Finale in Espinho (bei dem sie Hellvig/Ähman unterlagen) besiegten sie das polnische Duo, auf das sie, nun in Gruppe C der Olympischen Spiele, erneut treffen werden.

Während die Weltranglisten-Zwölften Bryl/Losiak den Deutschen gut bekannt sind (sechsmal traf man im Qualifikationszeitraum aufeinander), sind die beiden weiteren Kontrahenten-Duos fast unbeschriebene Blätter. Das beste australische Duo bei den Männern (17. Im World Ranking) hat sich über Challenger-Turniere für Paris 2024 eingespielt.

In Frankreich kommt zum ersten Aufeinandertreffen zwischen Ehlers/Wickler und Hodges/Schubert . Das gilt auch für die Partie gegen Basserau/Lyneel . Eines von zwei Gastgeber-Duos im Herrenbereich hat sich mit der allerletzten Chance noch einen Quotenplatz gesichert. Sie gewannen das Nations-Cup-Finale in Jurmala. Interessant: Die aktuell auf dem 36. Platz der Weltrangliste befindlichen Franzosen sind ursprünglich Hallen-Spieler und haben sich erst 2022 zusammengetan, um sich den Olympischen Traum zu erfüllen.

Das Wiedersehen des gesamten EM-Treppchens

Kurioses brachte die Auslosung bei den Frauen hervor. Die Heldin von 2016, Laura Ludwig (damals holte sie gemeinsam mit Kira Walkenhorst die Goldmedaille) und ihre Partnerin Louisa Lippmann treffen auf wohl bekannte Gegnerinnen.

Denn in Gruppe F bescherte das Los dem deutschen Duo ein Wiedersehen mit Hüberli/Brunner und Álvarez/Moreno . Zuletzt standen sie bei der Europameisterschaft 2023 gemeinsam auf dem Podest. Ludwig und Lippmann als EM-Dritte, während die Schweizerinnen Hüberli und Brunner sich zum Europameister kürten und das spanische Duo auf dem Silberrang verwies.

Zu dem wiedervereinten EM-Treppchen, gesellt sich in Paris ein französisches Duo. Placette/Richard waren als bestplatziertes Team des Gastgeber-NOC‘s in Gruppe F gesetzt. Zu unterschätzen sind die 23. der Weltrangliste nicht, doch insgesamt scheint für Ludwig und Lippmann der Einzug in die K.o-Runde alles andere als unmöglich.

Die zweite Kraft hinter dem Weltmeister-Duo?

Die direkte Qualifikation für das Achtelfinale (hierfür müsste einer der ersten beiden Plätze belegt werden) scheint auch für Svenja Müller und Cinja Tillmann möglich. Zwar wird das bestplatzierte deutsche Duo der Weltrangliste (10.) in Gruppe C auf die beiden Weltmeisterinnen aus den Duo, Kelly Cheng und Sara Hughes , treffen – dürfte zugleich aber gegenüber den weiteren beiden Teams als Favorit gelten. Hermannova/Stochlov aus Tschechien und Vieira/Chamereau aus Frankreich belegen im World Ranking die Plätze 30 und 31.

Der Ablauf des Beachvolleyball-Turniers bei den Olympischen Spielen 2024

Die jeweils 24 teilnehmenden Paare sind in sechs Vierergruppen aufgeteilt. Die Teams treten jeweils gegeneinander an. Am Ende der Gruppenphase qualifizieren sich direkt für das Achtelfinale:

• Die Gewinner jeder Gruppe (sechs)
• die Zweitplatzierten (sechs)
• die beiden besten Gruppendritten (zwei).

Die verbleibenden vier Teams, die in den Gruppen den dritten Platz belegen, treten in den „Lucky Loser“-Playoffs gegeneinander an. Die beiden Siegerpaare komplettieren die Tabelle für das Achtelfinale. Es folgen Viertelfinale, Halbfinale und Finale.
