As for Wiz, he will be a busy man on the road this year. Aside from his upcoming tour with Snoop, he’ll also lead the way for his headlining effort, The Good Trip Tour. The seven-date venture will feature acts such as Joey Bada$$, Smoke DZA, Berner and Chevy Woods. It’ll begin next month.

The Dublin date marks one of only four select European shows he has announced to play

Snoop Dogg has announced a return to Ireland for 2023.

The rapper will play Dublin’s RDS Simmonscourt in September, for one of only four select European shows he has announced on the High Rollers Tour.

Snoop Dogg recently graced Irish shores for the first time since 2014 with his triumphant return to Ireland with two sold-out shows at the 3Arena Dublin and the SSE Arena Belfast in March 2023.

The new announcement sees the West Coast Rap legend return to Ireland for a special performance on the 24th of September 2023.

This year celebrates the 30-year anniversary of Snoop Dogg’s iconic album “DOGGYSTYLE” which was released on the 23rd of November 1993.

With Snoop’s RDS show being just one month to the day of his anniversary, promoters said fans can expect to hear plenty of fan-favorite classic Doggystyle records, along with adapting an entirely new show to his recent appearances in March on his ‘I Wanna Thank Me Tour’.

Obie Trice was previously billed to support Snoop Dogg but was unable to perform on the I Wanna Thank Me tour due to visa issues This has now been resolved which means Irish fans can look forward to seeing Shady Records Rap Royalty make his long-awaited return to Ireland this time around.

2023 also marks the 20-year anniversary of Obie’s album Cheers which boasts collaborations with Eminem, Dr.Dre, Busta Rhymes, Nate Dogg, and 50 Cent. It was slated as one of the best debut albums in Hip Hop.

About the artist

Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, aka Snoop Dogg, is an iconic rapper and hip hop producer from the USA. Given the nickname “Snoopy” by his mother due to a passing resemblance to the famous cartoon dog, years later he would keep the pseudonym as his stage name. He started out as an MC on the West Coast hip hop scene, and quickly became a protégé of Dr Dre. An icon that spans generations, Snoop Dogg is an legend in Gangsta Rap. He released his first album, Doggystyle, in 1993. It was the first rap album to hit the top of the Billboard 200, and went quadruple platinum within just a year of its release! Snoop Dogg released one hit after another, and has released almost 20 albums in his career. From Tha Doggfather to Ego Trippin’, on to 7 Days of Fynk and Bush, the giant of US rap is a real hit machine. Whether performing solo or with the biggest American rappers of the last three decades, Snoop Dogg revolutionised and shaped the rap scene. Recognisable for his distinctive nonchalant drawl, Snoop stood out from other rappers of his time.

Snoop Dogg has announced the rescheduled 2023 dates for his ‘I Wanna Thank Me’ UK and Ireland tour. The hip-hop icon will kick off the arena jaunt at Belfast’s SSE Arena on March 14, followed by dates in Manchester, Glasgow, London, Dublin, Leeds, and Birmingham.

Snoop will be joined by his peers and collaborators Warren G, Tha Dogg Pound, Obie Trice and D12. Irish rap duo Versatile are also hitting the road with the icons of the West Coast scene.

Meanwhile, Snoop and Dr. Dre have collaborated on a new album called “Missionary.” The hip-hop idols have teamed up on their first new music in three decades.

He spilled in October: “Me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months.”

Asked about the sex position moniker, he replied: “The first album was ‘Doggystyle’…”

The album title confirmation comes after Eminem shared a snap in the studio with the pair in September and captioned it: “Just a few bros…hangin out.”

Snoop and Dre reunited earlier this year for an epic performance at the Super Bowl halftime show – along with Eminem , Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar . And following whispers that the pair were in the studio, Snoop told Entertainment Tonight : “We’re cooking up a little something. I don’t wanna talk about it too much, but we’re back together again.

“It’s been 30 years since we worked on a record, and we’re doin’ something, we’re workin’ on something.”

Snoop shot to fame in 1992 when he featured on Dre’s debut solo single, “Deep Cover” and his solo LP The Chronic .

Earlier this year, Snoop bought Death Row Records, the label that launched his career. The rapper – whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr – acquired the company from MNRK Music Group for an undisclosed sum.

The 51-year-old megastar said in February: “I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value. “It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members. This is an extremely meaningful moment for me.”

Snoop Dogg’s UK and Ireland 2023 dates are:

March 14 – Belfast, SSE Arena March 15 – Manchester, AO Arena March 16 – Glasgow, SEC Hydro March 21 – London, O2 Arena March 26 – Dublin, 3Arena March 27 – Leeds, First Direct Arena.

Dr. Dre Insists New Snoop Dogg Album Is "Some Of The Best Music" Of His Career

Dr. Dre’s latest remarks about his work on Snoop Dogg’s forthcoming solo album has resulted in anticipation and expectations for the project reaching a crescendo.

According to the legendary boardsman, his production and Snoop’s rhymes on the album, titled Missionary , rivals anything they’ve ever done musically, including their landmark albums The Chronic and Doggystyle .

“This one is gonna show a different level of maturity with his lyrics and with my music,” Dre claimed while speaking with Entertainment Tonight . "I feel like this is some of the best music I've done in my career. [It’s been] much more fun.”

While Snoop Dogg has been one of the more consistent rap artists of all-time in terms of his album releases, Dr. Dre’s own credits have been comparatively sparse during that same period, making his involvement in the making of Missionary even more intruiging.

Billed as a companion piece to Snoop’s debut album, Doggystyle , Missionary was first teased by Michael " Harry-O " Harris-the convicted drug kingpin who provided the seed money to launch Death Row Records-in 2022.

Shortly after Harris’ revelation that Snoop and Dre were in the studio, Tha Doggfather himself confirmed the reports later that same month. “We're cooking up a little something," Snoop told ET Online at the time. "I don't wanna talk about it too much, but we're back together again."

Last said to be releasing in July 2024, Missionary remains without an official date, but is tentatively slated to drop prior to year’s end .

Dr. Dre revealed that he and Snoop Dogg are aiming to release their upcoming album  Missionary   by November of this year.

In a recent interview with  Entertainment Tonight ,  the hip-hop icon shared that he is currently in the midst of mixing the joint. “I wanted 14 songs, Snoop wants 16, so we have that thing happening [bumps his fists together],” Dre shared. “I’m on song number 11 as far as the mixes go. I have to be done and delivered by September 1st to have a November release.” He even divulged that he was on the mic for some of the songs, although he believes only one of those tracks will make it to the final cut.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise abseiled from the roof of the Stade de France as Paris said farewell on Sunday to the Olympic Games.

Cruise descended on a wire in front of 71,500 spectators, grabbed the Olympic flag and jumped on a motorbike, to the delight of athletes and fans.

In a preview of what the world can expect when the Games head to Los Angeles in 2028, the “Mission Impossible” star was then shown boarding a plane and skydiving into the Californian city before adorning the iconic Hollywood sign with the Olympic rings.

Los Angeles band Red Hot Chili Peppers, singer Billie Eilish and rappers Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre then performed a mini-concert on a beach framed by the azure waters of the Pacific Ocean.

The closing spectacle marked the beginning of the four-year countdown to the LA Games, and American gymnastics icon Simone Biles joined Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass as the Olympic flag was formally handed over.

Earlier, International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach said the Paris Games had been “sport at its best”.

“These were sensational Olympic Games from start to finish,” Bach said. “Or dare I say: Seine-sational Games,” the IOC chief quipped in a pun about the river flowing through Paris which was the scene of the opening ceremony.

“Dear French friends, you have fallen in love with the Olympic Games. And we have fallen in love with all of you,” Bach added.

Around 9,000 athletes had flooded into the stadium to be entertained by 270 performers and artists in a ceremony billed as a celebration of humanity and the unifying power of sport.

“We knew you would be brilliant, but you were magic,” Paris 2024 organising chief Tony Estanguet told athletes. “You made us happy, you made us feel alive — the world needed this moment so much.”

The ceremony began when France’s swimming hero Leon Marchand — winner of four gold medals at these Games — collected the Olympic flame from the cauldron in the Tuileries Gardens to begin its journey to the stadium.

Local rugby hero Antoine Dupont — who led the host nation to a rugby sevens gold medal in one of the early highlights of the Games — carried a French flag into the stadium as partying athletes swarmed the field.

The ceremony followed 17 days of frequently breathtaking sporting action set against the backdrop of iconic Parisian landmarks from the Eiffel Tower to the Chateau de Versailles.

In contrast to the rain-soaked opening ceremony, Sunday’s festivities began as a golden sunset bathed the French capital.

The last day of sporting action saw the United States pip China for top spot in the battle for medals after the US women’s basketball team squeezed past France 67-66 to clinch the last gold of the Games.

The win — the eighth consecutive Olympic women’s basketball title won by the USA — ensured the Americans finished level with China on 40 golds each.

The USA however finished on top of the overall medal table with a total of 126 medals, with China in second place on 91.

Marathon magic

Sunday began with a gripping women’s marathon victory by Dutch long-distance running star Sifan Hassan.

Hassan had taken on what many considered to be a crazy gamble in Paris, competing in the 5,000m, the 10,000m and the marathon.

But in a jaw-dropping sprint finish, Hassan overhauled Ethiopia’s Tigst Assefa to take gold by three seconds in an Olympic record of 2hr 22min 55sec.

She fell to the ground on the blue carpet in front of the golden dome of the Invalides memorial complex in the heart of Paris before grabbing a Dutch flag to celebrate an extraordinary achievement.

Hassan was presented with her gold medal at the closing ceremony.

Snoop Dogg spent much of the 2024 Olympics contributing to NBC’s Games coverage, and in proper form helped bring them to an end with a performance during the closing ceremony.

The rapper ran through a rendition of “Drop It Like It’s Hot” on the L.A. beach in front of elaborate sandcastles before he was joined by Dr. Dre on a nearby stage for an energetic performance of their hit “The Next Episode.” They were part of a lineup that included Billie Eilish, Red Hot Chili Peppers and H.E.R. The performance was a nod to his hometown roots of Long Beach, as the 2028 Olympics are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles.

Snoop Dogg Has the Funniest Reaction to Seeing the Mona Lisa at the Louvre

The special NBC Olympic correspondent found his Revolutionary Cap while led through the empty halls of the world's most famous museum. 

It was a Night at the Museum for special NBC Olympic correspondent Snoop Dogg , and a history lesson unlike most.

As the 2024 Summer Olympic Games continue in Paris, Snoop was given a private, after-hours tour of the Louvre, home to some of the world’s finest art, as seen in a Thursday, August 1, 2024, promo clip on TikTok by NBC Olympics . The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper was guided through the grandiose empty wings to do some “snooping around,” avoiding the tens of thousands of tourists who visit the museum daily.

Snoop’s first stop? One of the world’s most valuable paintings: Leonardo Da Vinci’s early 1500s masterpiece, the Mona Lisa.

Against the backdrop of French accordion music, Snoop let viewers in as he gazed upon the oil painting, studying the exhibit from a straight-on point of view.

“I just found out I was Mona Lisa’s twin brother, Tony Lisa,” Snoop joked.

Snoop moved around the protective rail to see if the portrait’s eyes followed, to which the musician said, “She smile real hard when I stand on this side.”

Decked out in his patriotic red, white, and blue to represent the U.S. Teams , Snoop and his male private tour guide walked along the empty halls, marveling at numerous priceless showpieces hanging on the walls.

“Is that somebody’s head getting chopped off?” Snoop pointed in passing.

Snoop admires other show-stopping pieces

There was much to see in the one-minute-plus video, but the guide emphasized the importance of getting a close-up of the Winged Victory of Samothrace, a cherished marble sculpture created during the Hellenistic era.

The sight was perhaps befitting for the Olympic Games since the piece is also called the Niké of Samothrace, named after the ancient Greek goddess of victory. The headless statue was not only the muse for the big-name shoe brand, but the female subject’s wings also reportedly inspired the Nike company’s famous swoosh logo.

“That was made 2000 years ago?” Snoop wondered.

“2,200 years ago,” the tour guide clarified.

“I love this,” as Snoop stood in awe. “This is beautiful.”

The art expert informed Snoop that one of its wings had been “nipped and tucked,” urging the singer to guess which one was original and which wasn’t. Snoop inspected the monument, which stands eminently at the top of the Louvre’s master staircase, and settled that the right wing was only a replica.

“Bravo!” the tour guide remarked. “Bravo.”

Snoop and the guide continued through the gallery, passing by one particular painting that caught Snoop’s attention.

“It’s two ladies in the bed,” Snoop commented. “One of them flying away.”

The Frenchman leaned in, hiding his mouth with his hand, and said, “That’s not a lady.”

“That ain’t a lady?”

Upon a closer inspection, Snoop realized the naked, winged subject leaving a woman asleep in the bed was actually a male. In fact, the being was a depiction of Cupid, the Roman god of love.

The painting itself was an 1817 piece of art by famous French painter François-Edouard Picot, representing the second-century story of Cupid and Psyche .

“Cupid?” Snoop said. “I knew it was somebody I knew.”

Last, Snoop stopped at one of the world’s most famous French pieces, Liberty Leading the People , an 1830 oil painting portraying the July Revolution. By Romantic-era French artist Eugène Delacroix, it depicts a bare-breasted woman waving what is now France’s national flag atop the men who lost their lives during the 1830 revolution. In the backdrop, visitors can see the historic Notre-Dame, a treasured part of Paris, and a centerpiece at the 2024 Summer Games Opening Ceremony .

“The cap that this woman is wearing is called the Revolutionary Cap,” the tour guide explained.

“She got on what I got on right now,” Snoop noted of his blue wrap headpiece.

“You’re wearing your Revolutionary Cap, Snoop Dogg!”

“The revolution will be televised,” said the sports commentator.

The painting specifically shows the woman wearing a phryge , which is the inspiration for the Paris Olympics mascot.

“Rather than an animal, our mascots represent an ideal,” Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet previously said in a statement about the figure. “Since it is familiar to us and appears on our stamps and the pediments of our town halls, it also represents French identity and spirit.”

Viewers will see two different versions of the mascot, one for the Paris Olympics and a second for the Paralympics . The Olympics mascot is described as "the smart one” with a “methodical mind and alluring charm," but his Paralympics counterpart, who has a prosthetic leg, is more lively and "a party animal, spontaneous and a bit hotheaded.”

The drama and good vibes in Paris aren't over yet. The 2024 Paralympic Games kick off August 28 with the Opening Ceremony and run through September 8. Stay up to date with a comprehensive  schedule of events , including where to watch.
