New ‘outsourcing’ homeworking group founded

A new homeworking firm hopes to employ hundreds of experienced travel professionals to work on outsourced contracts.

Travel Solutions Network (TSN) has been founded by Garry and Lindsey Winterburn, who have a background in outsourcing and connecting business partners through their roles at Kognitive Corporation and as co-founders of CTS Outsourcing Solutions and Tolle Fuga Group.

Industry entrepreneur Steve Endacott, who has stakes in companies including eco (Electric Car Organisation), Working at Home Solutions, Canny App and The Content Gym, has invested in TSN and becomes chairman.

The company is looking to bring experienced travel professionals who were forced to find work in different sectors during Covid-19 back to the industry.

It will provide homeworking travel experts calls from travel companies it signs outsourcing contracts with and aims to build its own client base. It said it has already secured several deals.

Chief executive Garry Winterburn said: “We are seeing a major surge in holiday demand for summer 2022 that many businesses are not geared-up to cope with after having been forced to take wholesale cost cutting actions during Covid.

“TSN has been set up to provide either outsourced call overflow or in some cases create a flexible full call centre and customer service operation using experienced travel homeworkers to relaunch mothballed brands.”

Chief operating officer Lindsey Winterburn, who is recruiting homeworkers, added: “Most holiday commissions post-Covid can only be released from trust funds on the customers’ return from holiday, creating a six-month or longer wait for booking fees to be paid to agents.

“TSN’s outsourcing work is mainly paid on booking, giving our homeworkers steady call flow and immediate income while they build their own customer base. At the same time, it provides our outsource partners with a highly experienced team of travel professionals. We think this flexible call mix, coupled with some of the best commission deals in the sector, will be vital to attracting travel experts back to the industry as homeworkers.”

TSN also aims to create ‘shop hubs’ for homeworkers to work from should they wish, allowing the brand to be established on high streets and form “localised collaborative working practices”.

Lindsey Winterburn said: “All homeworkers want to handle their own sales leads but are often looking for administrative support. We will be operating a professional administrative support function with a personalised team who understand the importance of providing a world class, customer focused service to valued customers.

“While ‘remote first’ is key, it is also imperative that each homeworker has the required support, training and regular interaction with their local and central team at every step of their journey.”

TSN will offer each homeworker their own online bookable consumer site and the option to incorporate video conferencing into their sales process.

Endacott said: “The modern homeworker takes access to booking systems, Atol bonding and merchant clearing as givens and wants a technology offering that stands out.

“Nobody wants to move away from phone calls or home visits, but video conferencing does offer major positives when presenting holiday options back to the customers, and most importantly allows agents to see a customer’s reaction and adjust the pitch, accordingly, often boosting conversion levels”.

TSN intends to create a directory for homeworker destination expertise that it can advertise centrally, allowing homeworkers to extend their sales networks nationally.

Garry Winterburn said: “Customers want to return to travel experts offering a personalised service. However, they also want the convenience of shopping from their own homes now that they also work from home.

“It’s important we match the right customers to the right expertise, on a national basis, and don’t waste our homeworkers’ destination expertise by only allowing them to service their local community.”

TSN also plans to offer homeworkers optional non-travel work in the lead up to Christmas period, to boost incomes in the traditionally weaker period for holiday sales.

Easyjet holidays enlists help of travel solutions network to meet booking demand.

EasyJet holidays has partnered with Travel Solutions Network (TSN) to offer increased booking support to customers, creating new earning opportunities for TSN agents.

TSN was set up during the pandemic with the aim of tempting back established travel professionals who had left the industry due to the Covid crisis. 

It gives experienced agents the tools to run their own homeworking business, which they can supplement by providing overflow call centre support to help firms, such as easyJet holidays, keep up with booking demand.

EasyJet holidays’ head of partnerships Roy Stratford said: "We’re pleased to be partnering with TSN to offer even more booking support to our customers who call us to help them find their perfect package holiday.” 

Lindsey Winterburn, TSN co-founder and chief operating officer, said: “Our virtual contact centre team enjoy the flexibility of tailoring their work hours around both their own personal circumstances and the business demands from the comfort of their home.

“Through proactive scheduling based on anticipated demand, we minimise resource wastage and can extend cost-effective, risk-free solutions to our valued partners.”

TSN will recruit travel agents to deliver easyJet holidays’ virtual call centre, which it said eliminates “unnecessary overhead expenses during low-demand periods”.

TSN added its agents would be remunerated through commission, rather than being paid an hourly wage, and there was no cap on earnings. 

Winterburn added: “Good sellers will always be attracted to uncapped commissions and high volumes of quality leads from the easyJet holidays website. 

“This proposition becomes even more attractive when coupled with the freedom to work remotely and customise their work hours.”

The pre-Christmas period represented “an opportune window” to recruit staff, Winterburn added. 

“Joining TSN offers sales agents the attractive opportunity of high-volume upfront commissions on easyJet holidays’ virtual call centre bookings,” she concluded.

An SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate shows visitors that your website is secure. It protects online transactions and data transfers by encrypting data. Your SSL certificate will be issued to the domain name you use for your website. Follow the steps below to validate and issue your SSL certificate after purchase.

After you have purchased an SSL certificate, follow the steps below:

  • Log in to your Account Manager via https://www.networksolutions.com/my-account/login .
  • Enter your User ID and Password.
  • Click Security on the left navigation menu.

  • If you have more than one SSL certificate in your account, choose a package name and click the vertical ellipsis under Actions to Manage or see the Details of the product.

  • Select the SSL you want to manage.

  • Assign a domain name for your SSL Certificate.

  • Once you have entered the domain name, re-enter the domain name one last time.
  • Click Continue .

The system will perform a verification check to see if the domain entered is assigned as a domain pointer to a hosting package managed by Network Solutions. If Network Solutions does not host your website, you will be prompted to choose a server type and input a CSR (Certificate Signing Request).

Step 2: Provide CSR

CSR is the key to the SSL certificate. It houses everything about the server, organization, domain, private key, and encryption strength related to the SSL. It is the basis for how the SSL installation files are created and what dictates the handshake to make the secure connection through the browser session.

If a 3rd party hosting provider hosts your website, you are responsible for providing the CSR for validation. If Network Solutions hosts your website, this step is already taken care of on the back end during the configuration process.

Follow the steps below if your website is not hosted by Network Solutions, but you have purchased our SSL product:

  • Select the server software type provided by your current hosting provider.
  • Enter the CSR your current hosting provider provided into the Enter CSR From Web Host field.
  • Click the Continue button.

Step 3: Provide Validation Information

Now that you have assigned your domain and provided your CSR, select a validation email address to receive the validation code and confirmation URL.

Other Validation Methods

HTTP/.txt file : When Network Solutions manages all certificate components (Domain, Hosting, and SSL), we will automatically create a .txt file based on the MD5hash and SHA256 components of the CSR and upload it to the webspace via FTP. This method allows this file to be verified and expedites SSL issuance (You can also create this manually and upload it).

CNAME - This method is becoming the preferred method due to the challenges with email. We will provide you with a CNAME to be added to your DNS Zone provider. Our support agent can assist you in updating your DNS records if Network Solutions hosts your website. You or our support agent can add the CNAME via the Account Manager for verification and SSL issuance. Please see How to Update CNAME Records for Validation .

Completing Validation Next Steps for Domain Validation Certificates

Validating Email

After completing the steps, you will receive an email containing a secure link to activate validation to generate the SSL and issue the files. Clicking the link will notify the Validation team within an hour that the confirmation is complete.

Validating via CNAME

A special unique CNAME is generated for each SSL validation request. Our support agent will provide you with the CNAME and inform you of the next steps. No email confirmation is needed to validate via CNAME. It may take 1-2 hours for the Validation team to confirm this. Please see How to Update CNAME Records for Validation .

Validating via HTTP TXT File

A special unique MD5 Hash Code is generated for each SSL validation request. Our support agent will take this information and create a .txt file to upload into your FTP site files. No email confirmation is needed to validate via HTTP. It may take 1-2 hours for the Validation team to confirm this.

Additional Steps for Organization, Extended Validation, and Wildcard SSL

In addition to the steps listed for Domain Validation certificates, additional information will be required for OV and EV certificates. OV and EV will require an additional form to be filled out, including details associated with the business or organization, which will be included in the files issued for the SSL. All fields are required unless specifically noted.

Validating via Phone Call

In addition to validation steps via email, CNAME, or .txt file, you will need to respond to an email that will trigger a verification phone call back. This automated call is activated by clicking on a link in the phone verification email. Once you click the link, an autodialer will make a call and provide you with a PIN. 

After completing the configuration and validation steps, the files will be issued and uploaded to your Account Manager. You will also be notified via email. The timeframe for SSL validation and issuance depends on the SSL type and how quickly you complete the validation steps.

SSL Status Definitions

  • The steps below only apply if your website is hosted by Network Solutions. If you are not hosted by Network Solutions, you must contact your current hosting provider to add the CNAME records provided by our support agent.
  • Please contact support to get your CNAME records. You can contact support via chat by going to www.networksolutions.com and clicking on the Contact Us icon. Please indicate that you are validating your SSL Certificate via CNAME validation.
  • Once you receive an email with the CNAME information, enter the records into your DNS manager by following the steps below. If you are not hosted by Network Solutions, you must add the CNAME records at your DNS provider.

To update your CNAME records via the Account Manager, follow these steps:

  • Click Domains on the left menu.

  • Select the domain assigned to your SSL certificate.
  • Scroll down to Advanced Tools and click MANAGE beside Advanced DNS Records .

A pop-up may show saying, "Only advanced users should make updates to their Advanced DNS Manager. Changes made to these settings may cause you to lose access to your existing email and websites."

  • Click Continue to proceed.

Add CNAME Record

  • Select CNAME as the Type .
  • Select Other Host in the Refers to drop-down.

  • Click the ADD button.

Important: The issuance time is only estimates hence the plus-minus sign. It also varies depending on the completion of the verification process or technical problems/delays.
