Milwaukee County Parks releases schedule for Traveling Beer Garden 2024 Tour

What will get us through wintery weather in late March ? Knowing that beer garden season in all of its glory is around the corner.

The schedule for the Traveling Beer Garden 2024 Tour just dropped. It includes eight Milwaukee County park stops from mid-May through the beginning of September, including a new one: Kops Park at 3321 N. 86 St.

This is the 11th season Milwaukee County Parks and Sprecher Brewing Co. have partnered to put it on.

“There’s nothing like beer garden season in Milwaukee County!" Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley said in a statement. "This unique tradition in our community brings people together, generates revenue for County operations, and fosters positive activity in our Milwaukee County Parks. I’m looking forward to folks flocking to our parks this summer to visit one of our amazing beer gardens and enjoy a cold one with friends and neighbors.”

Bryson DeChambeau, birdies and beer: Inside LIV Golf Nashville’s ‘party hole’ at The Grove

COLLEGE GROVE — Bryson DeChambeau took aim, with notes of sweat and beer wafting in the grandstands around him, while LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman stood on the green. 

Norman jokingly tended the flag on the par-3 15th hole for DeChambeau, the 2024 U.S. Open champion, during Saturday’s second round of the LIV Nashville tournament .

DeChambeau smiled but admitted later he didn’t know what was going on. 

“I had no idea (it was Norman),” DeChambeau said. “If I knew it was him . . . I would have been totally cool with it. I wasn’t trying to wave him off.” 

Welcome to the weirdness of No. 15 at The Grove, LIV Nashville’s 132-yard, par-3 “party hole” with amphitheater- style seating, VIP suites and plenty of booze — styled much like the rowdy par-3 16th at the PGA Tour’s Waste Management Open in Scottsdale, Arizona.

DeChambeau hit his tee shot to about 10 feet, then jogged the length of the hole to slap hands with spectators. Most fans had their shirts on, but among the men, some did not. 

Nashville fans — known for their willingness to party — were even rowdier than they were for the opening round. A mob of people with plastic cups followed DeChambeau as he walked to the 15th tee box. His entrance encapsulated the sold-out day at The Grove, which ended with him at 9 under for the tournament, four shots behind leader Tyrrell Hatton (13 under) going into Sunday's final round.

Gary Bryant, who came as a spectator, waited nearly three hours for DeChambeau to arrive at No. 15.

“It’s different (than the PGA Tour), but it's a good different,” Bryant said. “It’s more interactive. But we know the golfers are here to focus on the course, too.” 

Fans booed when players missed the No. 15 green and cheered wildly if they hit it close, no matter who was teeing off. Six-time major champion Phil Mickelson , generally a fan favorite, received a chorus of boos when his tee shot found the left bunker. It was the opposite when Jon Rahm, who had to quiet a loud fan behind him as playing partner Richard Bland teed off, landed his shot about 8 feet from the pin. 

"It's always tricky when you have some sort of distance-control wedge, and then you have (all the noise)," Rahm said. "You almost need to control (your) adrenaline."

Norman, who began the day walking with Hatton’s group, made his way to No. 15 and asked fans for feedback on how they thought the concession lines could move faster. 

“We had some ideas,” said Zack Denlinger, who spoke with Norman from behind the ropes for about a minute. “If someone’s in line for a hot dog, but all I want is a Transfusion (drink), I don’t need to wait for the hot dog to be done. I just want a drink.”

Many people wanted drinks there Saturday. 

“It’s fun to be able to, for one hole, go, ‘Oh, look at this environment, this is sweet. Let’s give the fans a little something special,’ ” DeChambeau said. “Yeah, I love it.”

Madison Beer 2024 Asia & Australia Tour: Presale, dates, venues, & all you need to know

A merican singer Madison Beer is headlining The Encore Tour in Asia and Australia this summer. She announced the dates on Instagram on June 26, with the tour starting on August 17. The tour follows her 2023 album, Silence Between Songs , but it's unclear if the tour is to support this album or a new project. While she has toured Asia before, this will be her first time performing in Australia.

People interested in watching Madison Beer live at the tour can get the tickets through the artist presale that begins at 2 p.m. local time on June 4. Fans may have to subscribe to the singer's mailing list at madisonbeer.com to receive the presale access. Fans in Australia can book the tickets through the Telstra Plus presale which begins at 12 p.m. local time on July 1 at Telstra.com.

People in Asia will have access to a RowOne.asia presale starting at 2 p.m. local time on July 3. The general on-sale for the tour tickets will begin on July 5. Madison Beer 2024 Asia & Australia Tour venues, dates, and more

Madison Beer will start The Encore Tour with her first Asian festival performance at Tokyo's Summer Sonic Fest on August 17, followed by Osaka's Summer Sonic Fest on August 18. After a three-day break, she will perform at Singapore's Expo Hall 7 on August 22 and at Jakarta International Expo for the LALALA Festival on August 24, ending the tour's Asian section.

The Australian section begins with her first concert in Brisbane at The Fortitude Music Hall on August 28, followed by a show at Sydney's Horden Pavilion on August 30.

Madison Beer will officially wrap up The Encore Tour with the final concert at Melbourne's Margaret Court Arena on September 2. The Grammy-nominated singer has not confirmed the names of the supporting and opening artists who will accompany her on the seven-day tour.

Almost one million cycling fans gathered in the Tuscan capital of Florence today to witness the Grand Départ of the Tour de France, the first time Italy has hosted the start of the world’s most famous cycle race in its 121-year history. The tour’s famous jerseys—yellow, green, polka dot and white—are made by Santini of Italy .

There’s also an American connection—Santani makes some of its cycling jersies with US performance fabric maker Polartec. The companies joined together to create the unisex Ombra Jersey made with Polartec’s Power Stretch and Delta fabrics.

Power Stretch provides four-way, stretchy fit and Delta cools. Santini has been working with Polartec —starting with winter fabrics—since 2018.
