Lasso Announces Quedarse Solo Para Siempre Tour 2024 in the U.S.

Lasso will perform in concerts across the U.S. for the first time this fall. Today (June 17), the Venezuelan pop star announced the stateside dates for his Quedarse Solo Para Siempre Tour 2024.

Lasso hails from Caracas, Venezuela. After a decade in the industry, he scored his first global hit in 2022 with “Ojos Marrones.” Later that year, Colombian heartthrob Sebastián Yatra joined Lasso on a duet version of the song. Both versions of “Ojos Marrones” have amassed over 520 million combined streams on Spotify. The song also reflects Lasso’s knack for putting his own stamp on nostalgic sounds of the past. He has cited Fleetwood Mac’s music as inspiration for “Ojos Marrones.” 

Lasso added U.S. dates to his Quedarse Solo Para Siempre Tour 2024. The stateside leg will kick off on Sept. 11 in San Francisco, CA. Throughout that month, Lasso will visit major cities like Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; and New York, NY. He will return to the U.S. on Oct. 25 and 26 for the last two shows in Dallas and Houston, TX. 

Pre-sale tickets for the U.S. leg of Quedarse Solo Para Siempre Tour 2024 will go on sale on Wednesday, June 19, at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets for the general public will be available starting on Friday, June 21 at 10 a.m. local time.

Lasso is already hard at work on his fifth album. He has previewed the LP with “Bilingües” featuring Venezuelan brothers Mau y Ricky. Last Friday, Lasso teamed up with another rising Venezuelan star, Micro TDH, for his latest single “No Escuches Esta Canción.” The heartbreaking song about remembering an ex blends vintage doo-wop music with Lasso’s pop-rock edge. Last year, Lasso won his first Latin Grammy award for Best Pop/Rock Song for “Ojos Marrones.”

Lasso Announces Debut Us Tour & New Album

Latin   GRAMMY  winner and 4x nominee  LASSO announces his first U.S tour, “Quedarse Solo Para Siempre,”  promoted by  Live Nation . The 15-city run is set to kick off on  September 11th  in  San Francisco , hitting major cities including Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and more, wrapping on  October 26th  in  Houston . Simultaneous to the unveiling of his tour,  Lasso  also announces his fifth studio album, set to release under  Universal Music Mexico . The project, slated for the fall, will have 13 tracks, including previously relea sed “ Bilingües”   in collaboration with  Mau y Ricky , and  “ No Escuches Esta Cancion”  with  Micro TDH . Each track on the album will be accompanied by videos that were produced and directed by Charlie Nelson.

Additionally, Lasso is beginning a new chapter in his career by signing an exclusive management deal with  WK ENTERTAINMENT . This includes a comprehensive 360 contract under the leadership of  Andres Gomez , who will support Lasso in touring, brand partnership strategies, A&R, marketing and more at a global level.

The track also entered  Billboard’s Global 200  chart, clocking in at  #66  and  #39  on the  Billboard Global Excl U.S  chart. Currently, Lasso is promoting his newest single,  “No Escuches Esta Cancion”  alongside Micro TDH, further cementing himself as the reference of contemporary pop.

LASSO Montreal Rounds Up Major Country Stars for 2024 Festival

Now in its third year, the country fest features big u.s. and canadian names including eric church, sam hunt, dustin lynch, josh ross, matt lang, mackenzie porter and more..

As Canada becomes a hotbed for country music festivals, LASSO Montreal just announced a lineup filled with some of the biggest names of the genre. Named alongside previously-announced headliners Sam Hunt and Eric Church are, amongst others, Dustin Lynch, Brett Young, Tyler Hubbard, Megan Moroney, Matt Lang, Kip Moore, Josh Ross and Laurence St-Martin.

They will take to the Parc Jean-Drapeau stage on August 16 and 17 in the third edition of LASSO Montreal. The festival is produced by evenko, and the earlier editions featured such genre stars as Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan, Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Jake Owen and Dierks Bentley.

The 2024 lineup is shaping up to be the strongest yet, boosted by Sam Hunt and Eric Church. The Georgia-born Hunt made a mark writing songs for other stars, then signed a record deal a decade ago. Since then, he has had multiple No. 1 singles, won American Music and CMT Music Awards, and won praise for incorporating pop and R&B elements into his work.

At 46, Eric Church is now a veteran star, with nine studio albums and a string of such No. 1 hits as “Drink in My Hand," "Springsteen, Talladega," "Give Me Back My Hometown" and "Raise 'Em Up" to his credit over the past two decades.

Tennessee native Dustin Lynch has a trophy case full of major awards, thanks to his deep voice and big sound, while Californian Brett Young went platinum on his eponymous debut, topped Billboard Country Albums chart with his Gold-certified Ticket To L.A , and has notched over 8.1 billion global streams to date. T yler Hubbard made a major splash as one half of hit duo Florida Georgia Line, and his self-titled debut solo album earned a Favorite Debut Album nomination at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Notable Canadian artists are also on the bill. Quebec favourites Matt Lang and Laurence St-Martin will play, as will rising Ontario star Josh Ross and Medicine Hat hitmaker MacKenzie Porter.

On August 15, a day before the main event, a yet to be named concert venue in downtown Montreal will present LASSO in the City, hosted by SiriusXM. Performers will be named later.

Single-day LASSO Montreal tickets go on on sale this Friday, February 2 at 10 a.m. here . 2-day tickets are already on sale there.

The growth of LASSO is another sign that the country music festival scene across Canada is thriving. Back in December, Billboard Canada reported on the launch of Coast City Country , a new event in Vancouver coming this April featuring headliners Nickelback, Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley that is anticipating over 75,000 attendees.

Last week, Billboard Canada reported that Republic Live, producers of the annual massive multi-day Boots and Hearts country music festival north of Toronto, has launched a Nashville-based management division called RLive.

As the genre grows here, Nashville and Canada are growing closer by the day.

Lana Del Rey new music

Del Rey, 38, is releasing her tenth studio album “Lasso” in September.

Most surprisingly, the Jack Antonoff-produced record will be made up of country songs.

”If you can’t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country. We’re going country. It’s happening,” Del Rey said at the Billboard and NMPA Songwriter Awards. “That’s why Jack has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, over the last four years.”

“Lasso” follows Del Rey’s 2023 album “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,” which topped out at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

After a successful inauguration last year, Lasso Montréal will make its return to Jean-Drapeau Park, Montréal on August 18th-19th 2023.

Don Omar announced on Instagram that he is currently battling cancer. The 46-year-old reggaeton pioneer took to social media on Monday to reveal his ongoing medical struggle.

He wrote in a message: “Today yes, but tomorrow I won’t have cancer.” The post included a photo of his hospital wristband from a specialty hospital in Orlando. “Good intentions are well received. See you soon. #fuckcancer,” he concluded.

He has been performing these and many more songs on his “Back to Reggatón Tour,” which announced a second leg starting Aug. 7 in Oakland, Calif. at the Oakland Arena. It will stop in new cities including San Diego, Portland and Tampa, among others. It will close on the East Coast on Sept. 14 in Newark’s Prudential Center, and on Sept. 15 in Elmont, NY at the UBS Arena.

The trek is his first since partnering with Daddy Yankee on the Kingdom Tour back in 2015, and is in support of his 2023 album “Forever King,” which featured Chencho Corleone, Maluma, Residente and more.

George Strait sets a new record for the largest ticketed concert in U.S. history

Country singer George Strait just smashed another record in his chart-topping musical career.

On Saturday, the Texas native played the largest ticketed concert in U.S. history before a crowd of 110,905 fans, according to Billboard .

The performance at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field in College Station beat out the previous record held by the Grateful Dead , which jammed before 107,019 attendees during a 1977 show at Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J.

Though Strait nabbed the record for the largest ticketed musical performance, there have been bigger crowds at some music festivals and free concerts held in the U.S., such as the 1986 performance by the New York Philharmonic in Central Park that drew an estimated 800,000 people .

And according to American Songwriter , perhaps the largest audience for a concert in history goes to the reputed 3.5 million fans who crammed onto Brazil’s Copacabana Beach in 1994 to hear Rod Stewart perform.

Strait is no stranger to setting records. The singer has the most No. 1 singles of any artist in any genre and is the only artist to boast a Top 10 hit every year for three decades, Billboard reported.

According to Strait’s website, the country music star also holds more than 20 attendance records at music venues across the U.S.

Strait, whose new album Cowboys and Dreamers drops in September, will perform in Salt Lake City later this month, followed by concerts in Detroit and Chicago in July.

The country music icon made history with his concert at Kyle Field in College Station on Saturday night, playing to a record-breaking 110,905 fans . The show set the U.S. record for a ticketed concert, previously held by The Grateful Dead with its 1977 concert at Raceway Park in New Jersey.

"We got some Aggies out there? Oh yeah!" Strait said at the concert, per Chron , referencing the Texas A&M University team. "I’m ashamed to say this, but this is my first time to ever be in Kyle Field. Damn! Just invite me back!"

The concert also broke the record for the most attended single event at Kyle Field, even beating the Aggies football team. The record for a football game was set on Oct. 11, 2014, with 110,663 fans in attendance for a Texas A&M 35-20 loss to SEC West rival Ole Miss. Strait also broke his own Texas record on June 7, 2014, when he performed for 104,793 at Arlington's AT&T Stadium.

Strait's current tour has four remaining dates. The next concert is set for June 29 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.

Among the attendees at Saturday's concert were new Texas A&M football coach Mike Elko and Sen. Ted Cruz . Elko shared a photo of his seats from the venue when asked whether he was taking in a show of another kind: Texas A&M baseball's College World Series opener vs. Florida in Omaha, Nebraska. The game was heavily delayed by weather, causing a conflict for the Aggies coach.

"Enjoying The King at Kyle Field," Elko wrote. "But I’ll be there supporting @AggieBaseball when we’re done."
