Expedia for TD Review: What You Need to Know

Many or all of the products featured here are from our partners who compensate us. This may influence which products we write about and where and how the product appears on a page. However, this does not influence our evaluations. Our opinions are our own.

Put TD Rewards points to work through the Expedia for TD platform, an Expedia portal exclusively for TD credit cardholders that offers the highest redemption value possible for hard-earned TD points.

Expedia for TD is an Expedia platform for TD Bank credit cardholders.

TD cardmembers log into the Expedia for TD platform to browse travel deals and redemption options, which include vacation packages, accommodations, exclusive deals and more. TD points are worth more when redeemed through the Expedia for TD platform. Purchasing travel through the platform with a TD credit card earns accelerated TD points.

Expedia.ca vs. Expedia for TD

Expedia.ca is an online travel agency that can be used to book airfare, cruises, hotel accommodations, car rentals and more.

Expedia for TD is an Expedia platform exclusively for customers with credit cards that earn TD Rewards. TD cardholders who earn cash back or Aeroplan points with their cards can’t access the platform.

Other notable differences between Expedia for TD and Expedia.ca? The former offers accelerated TD Rewards points for money spent on travel purchases through Expedia for TD and a dedicated support team for TD customers, while the latter does not.

Outside this, Expedia for TD is not unlike its parent platform, Expedia.ca. Cardholders can browse and book flights, hotel stays, car rentals, cruise tickets and more.

TD Rewards points are most valuable when redeemed through Expedia for TD. The platform, accessed at expediafortd.com, also offers an accelerated earn rate of up to 9 TD Rewards points per $1 spent on travel bookings.

Additional Expedia for TD perks include its price-matching policy on hotels and travel packages and dedicated 24-hour customer support. There are a couple of drawbacks, though. The platform is only for TD credit cardholders who earn TD Rewards points. Plus, there are limitations to Expedia for TD’s price matching — time restrictions apply, and refunds are only issued on flight and hotel packages.

How to earn TD rewards

Some TD credit cards earn TD Rewards points. Earn rates vary.

TD credit cards that earn TD rewards

The following TD credit cards earn TD Rewards points:

  • TD Rewards Visa Card.
  • TD Platinum Travel Visa Card.
  • TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card.
  • TD Business Travel Visa Card.

For those interested in earning the most TD Rewards Points per dollar, the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card and the TD Business Travel Visa Card carry the highest earn rates. This makes them the best cards for individuals and businesses, respectively.

TD credit cardholders will get the most bang for their buck by redeeming their TD Rewards points through Expedia for TD.

td expedia travel customer service number

Expect to get around 0.25 to 0.5 cents per TD Rewards point, according to NerdWallet analysis.

The value of TD Rewards points varies depending on the redemption method, but TD Rewards points are at their most valuable when used to redeem travel offers through the Expedia for TD portal. Cardholders can expect to get 0.5 cents per TD Rewards point for travel purchases made through Expedia for TD.

Cardholders must have at least 200 TD Rewards Points — worth $1 — to make a redemption through the Expedia for TD portal.

To redeem your TD points on the Expedia for TD platform:

  • Register your TD Rewards account on TD’s website.
  • Log into Expedia for TD with your username and password.
  • Find the travel offer you’d like to purchase.
  • Book your offer through the online Expedia for TD portal or by phone.
  • Redeem your TD Rewards Points when you book.

Expedia for TD redemption options

The Expedia for TD booking portal offers numerous redemption options:

  • Car rentals.
  • All-inclusive vacations.
  • Train travel.

How to maximize TD Rewards points

Even if your TD points don’t entirely cover the cost of your booking through the Expedia for TD portal, paying the difference with your TD credit card earns you accelerated points — which gets you closer to another free or discounted travel experience.

Let’s say you book a $500 Air Canada round-trip flight to the Dominican Republic through the Expedia for TD portal. You use 50,000 TD Rewards points towards the booking. This reduces the cost of your trip by $250. You put the outstanding $250 balance on your TD credit card.

Since you can earn up to 9 TD Rewards points for $1 spent through the Expedia for TD portal, the $250 you put on your TD credit card earns you 2,250 TD Rewards Points — which is a value of $11.25 back in your pocket.

Yes. Customers can take advantage of price matching through the Expedia for TD portal — also called Expedia’s Price Guarantee.

How does price matching work?

Expedia will refund the difference if you find cheaper travel packages or accommodations after booking through the Expedia for TD portal. But there are two important caveats. Expedia will only issue a refund if you find:

  • A less expensive flight and hotel package within 24 hours of booking.
  • A cheaper hotel rate up to 48 hours before check-in.

Pros and cons of Expedia for TD price matching

  • Get refunded the difference between your booking and a cheaper travel deal.
  • Limited to hotel stays and flight and hotel packages.
  • Time restrictions apply.

Once you’ve registered your TD Rewards account on TD’s website, you can log in to Expedia for TD from:

  • tdrewards.com.
  • expediafortd.com.

Expedia for TD customer service

Expedia for TD has a dedicated support team for TD credit cardholders. The team can be reached by phone at 1-877-222-6492 24 hours a day.

3 tips for using Expedia for TD

Make the most of your TD Rewards points and the Expedia for TD platform with the following tips:

1. Book through Expedia for TD instead of TD’s “Book Any Way.”

Your TD Rewards points are worth 0.5 cents per point when redeemed for travel purchases booked through Expedia for TD. You can also book travel experiences through third-party travel websites and agencies — what TD calls its “Book Any Way” redemption option — but your points won’t go as far. Expect to receive 0.4 cents per point for the first $1,200 of any Book Any Way travel redemption request, and 0.5 cents per point for any amount over $1,200 for the same Book Any Way travel redemption.

2. Use your TD credit card to cover outstanding expenses from Expedia for TD bookings.

You’ll earn TD Rewards points at an accelerated rate when you use your TD credit card to cover outstanding expenses on the Expedia for TD platform. Different cards earn points at different rates:

  • TD Rewards Visa earns 4 TD points for every $1 spent on travel purchases through the platform.
  • TD Platinum Travel Visa earns 6 TD points for every $1 spent on travel purchases through the platform.
  • TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite earns 8 TD points for every $1 spent on travel purchases through the platform.
  • TD Business Travel Visa earns 9 TD points for every $1 spent on travel purchases booked online and 6 TD points for every $1 spent on travel purchases booked by phone through the platform.

3. Don’t wait to shop around.

Expedia for TD will only honour its price-matching policy under specific circumstances. If you’ve booked a flight and hotel package, you have just 24 hours to submit a refund request to Expedia for TD if you find a cheaper package. Hotel bookings have a more generous timeframe: Expedia for TD will issue a price-matching refund up to 48 hours before check-in.

  • Redeem TD Rewards points for flights, hotel stays, car rentals, cruise tickets and more.
  • Earn up to 9 TD Rewards points for every $1 spent on travel purchases through Expedia for TD.
  • Receive an annual $100 travel credit when booking through Expedia For TD. (Limited to TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Cardholders).
  • Take advantage of Expedia’s price-matching policy to secure the lowest rates for hotels and hotel/flight packages.
  • Dedicated Expedia For TD support team available 24 hours a day.
  • Limited to TD credit cardholders who earn TD Rewards.
  • Price matching limitations apply.

Frequently asked questions about Expedia for TD

TD points never expire so long as you remain a TD cardholder with an account in good standing. If you don’t earn or redeem any TD Rewards points for at least one year, your account will be deemed inactive. At this time, TD may close your account and offer you the opportunity to redeem your TD Rewards points by a specified date.

There’s no cost associated with accessing the Expedia for TD platform. The travel package options on Expedia for TD are no different than those offered on Expedia.ca, but only certain TD credit cardholders can gain access to it.

The Ultimate Guide to Expedia for TD

By Michael Wight | Published on 09 Aug 2023

td expedia travel customer service number

Expedia is one of the first websites travellers turn to when they get down to planning their next journey. The business has joined hands with TD Rewards to introduce the Expedia for TD portal. The partnership allows travellers to use their TD Rewards points to pay for their trip on an exclusive Expedia platform accessible from their TD Rewards account. In this article, we’ll cover all there is to know about Expedia for TD so you can maximize your benefits.

Introduction to Expedia for TD

Expedia ® for TD † is a travel booking portal available exclusively to TD Rewards users. It operates under the TD umbrella and is the result of a partnership between Expedia and TD. As a TD credit card holder, you are able to use your TD Rewards points to make purchases on Expedia through your TD Rewards account.

The platform seems reliable. TD is one of the largest banks in Canada. It offers a variety of financial products including credit cards , chequing accounts , savings accounts and even an online brokerage . On the other hand, Expedia is a well-recognized company with an international standing.

Using a qualified TD credit card on eligible purchases earns you TD Rewards points that you redeem for a variety of products and services. However, the best way to maximize the benefits is to use these points to make travel-related purchases through Expedia for TD. The platform is very easy to use. Login to your account and make a booking.

With this travel booking portal, you can spend your points but also earn points even faster. Spending $1 through ExpediaforTD.com will earn you up to 9 TD points. However, the program is only for eligible TD credit card holders. Also, there is a minimum redemption threshold. Points can only be used in increments of 200 TD, which is equal to $1 increments. Each point is worth 0.5 cents.

Expedia for TD is simple to use, but the 0.5 cent value per point is low. However, there are some tricks that you can use to maximize your earnings and reduce your travel expenses. We’ll cover Expedia ® for TD † tips and tricks later in this review.

What does Expedia for TD offer?

Expedia for T is different from Expedia.ca, but it offers everything that you will find on the original Expedia website including hotels and apartments, flights , all-inclusive holidays, car rentals, train tickets, and cruises. You can search for future dates, use filters such as “beach holidays”, and find discounted rates.

You can even find some exclusive deals on special occasions. A great way to keep an eye on the latest offers is to sign up for the newsletter. You get timely updates about the newest discount offers and promo codes. It must be mentioned that your points will be worth the same value no matter what you purchase through the platform.

Expedia for TD offers dedicated customer support. Agents are available 24/7 and can be contacted at 1-877-222-6492 . We found the team highly professional and helpful.

Expedia.ca vs ExpediaforTD.com: what’s the difference?

Technically speaking, both platforms do the same job but they each operate very differently. Expedia.ca is the Canadian version of Expedia , the travel platform that anyone can use to book a flight, hotel, car, etc. The website offers deals at discounted rates and is available to users around the world.

On the other hand, Expedia for TD is not open to everyone. It is a co-branded website that can only be accessed by TD credit card holders. It offers exclusive perks including the ability to use TD Rewards points to pay for your next booking. The Expedia for TD platforms contains all the same products and services found on Expedia.ca .

In addition, you can earn more points when you use your card to pay for bookings on the Expedia for TD platform. There are no blackout dates or limitations. Also, both platforms allow users to make date changes, cancel bookings, etc.

How can I earn TD Rewards points?

td expedia travel customer service number

You need TD Rewards points to benefit from the Expedia for TD portal. The Rewards program works just like any other. You earn points if you meet these two conditions:

  • You have a qualified TD credit card.
  • You make an eligible purchase.

TD offers a variety of eligible cards, each with its own list of qualified purchase categories. Also, the number of points awarded depends on different factors including the type of credit card you have.

The TD First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Card , for example, is highly sought after as it offers:

  • Up to 8 TD Points/$1 spent on travel bookings through Expedia for TD
  • Up to 6 TD Points/$1 spent at eligible grocery stores & restaurants
  • Up to 4 TD Points/$1 spent on recurring bill payments
  • Up to 2 TD Points/$1 on all other card purchases

This is a very good earn rate and better than what some other travel credit cards in Canada come with.

Expedia for TD: pros and cons

Here are some of the main pros and cons of Expedia for TD:

  • Can be a great way to save money by using TD points instead of cash.
  • You can choose from a variety of TD credit cards to access the travel booking platform.
  • Customer service is excellent.
  • You’ll get all the perks offered by Expedia.ca.
  • Only for eligible TD credit card holders.

Expedia for TD: which credit card can you use?

TD offers a large number of credit cards, but only four presently allow their users to access Expedia for TD. Applicants must be of maturity age, which depends on the province where they live, and sign up for an account. Let’s know more about each card below:

TD First Class Travel® Visa Infinite*

The TD First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Card can be a great option for travellers who want to save money. You need $60,000 in personal income or $100,000 in household income to qualify for this credit card.

Cardholders enjoy Priority Pass Membership discounts and some other cool perks including vehicle rental insurance † , purchase security † , travel insurance † , travel medical insurance † , and flight delay insurance † with baggage insurance † . Those who want more perks can consider other credit cards in Canada .

Cardholders can earn:

  • 2 TD points † for every $1.
  • 8 TD points † on every $1 of spending when using the card on Expedia for TD
  • Up to 6 TD points on groceries † and restaurants †
  • 4 TD points on recurring bill payments †

Users can earn more TD points † by linking their card with their Starbucks ® Rewards account and earn up to 50% more points. We think this is a great feature since Canadians love Starbucks.

TD points earned through this card will remain active as long as the account is active. Plus, the company puts no seat restrictions or travel backouts. TD points can be redeemed for all kinds of Expedia for TD purchases. Plus, they can be used to buy gift cards and merchandise from TD’s online store.

TD Platinum Travel Visa*

The TD Platinum Travel Visa* is a lot easier to get as it has no stringent income requirements. Plus, only your first supplementary card † is $35 per year while any other supplementary cards are free. This credit card is more affordable than the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite* Card but it does offer fewer benefits.

There are no Priority Pass Membership discounts but users will still enjoy excellent insurance services including flight delay insurance † with baggage insurance † , vehicle rental insurance † , travel accident insurance † , purchase security † , and travel accident insurance † .

This card has no minimum annual income requirements and users with an average credit score can easily qualify. Still, it’s important to be careful as the card can impact credit scores .

The TD points system is clear:

  • 6 TD points for every $1 spent through Expedia for TD
  • 4.5 TD points for every $1 spent on eligible grocery † and restaurant † purchases
  • 3 TD points on recurring bill payments †
  • 1.5 TD points on all other purchases †

On the plus side, TD points earned through this card do not expire and the Starbucks program is valid on this card too.

TD Rewards Visa* Card

The TD Rewards Visa* Card is the most affordable TD card to own. Just like the TD Platinum Travel Visa* card, this one also has no income requirements and anyone, including applicants with a poor credit score, can qualify for this card.

This card earns you:

  • 4 TD points for $1 through Expedia for TD
  • 3 TD points for every $1 spent on eligible grocery † , restaurant † , and fast food purchases †
  • 2 TD points on recurring bill payments †
  • 1 TD point for every $1 spent on all other purchases

The Starbucks offer is valid with this card and TD points don’t expire as long as the account remains valid. This card doesn’t come with additional perks such as travel insurance. Users will, however, enjoy Purchase Security † & Extended Protection Insurance † , and mobile device insurance † .

TD Business Travel Visa* Card

The TD Business Travel Visa Card is expensive but worth it due to its impressive benefits. You can earn up to:

  • 9 TD points for every dollar spent on Expedia for TD
  • 6 TD points when spending at eligible restaurants, paying recurring bills, and on foreign currency purchases. Plus, it offers emergency cash up to $5,000.
  • 2 TD points on all other card purchases

You also earn 50% more with the Starbucks program and it comes with some impressive benefits including travel medical insurance, trip cancellation insurance, delay insurance, emergency travel insurance, and lost baggage insurance. Cardholders will have the option to buy Business TD Auto Club Membership and enjoy car insurance.

How to redeem points through Expedia for TD

redeem rewards

In order to book a trip through Expedia for TD, you need to create an account so that you can redeem points. Go to ExpediaforTD.com, login to your account, choose the product or service you’d like to purchase, and decide how you wish to pay at the checkout page. You can even choose a combination of points and cash.

Points can be used to pay the basic price as well as for additional charges including taxes, carrier fees, and airport fees. The website will tell you the worth of your points and how much cash you will need if you do not have enough points to cover your purchase. If this happens, you will have to add a payment method such as PayPal or your credit card to cover the fee.

Some bookings will require pre-payment and some might allow you to pay at a later date. Make sure to read the fine print before you confirm a booking. Not all bookings come with free cancellation.

Can Expedia for TD help me save money?

Yes, Expedia for TD can help you save money. It does so in two ways: by offering great discounts through promo codes and by allowing you to use points instead of cash. How much you save depends on how many points you have. The more you shop, the more points you’ll earn.

Plus, TD is known for offering special bonuses such as double points on some purchases and sign up bonuses. Try to take part in these offers to earn more points.

You will find similar offers from other providers, but Expedia for TD appears to have an edge. It offers a very high number of TD Rewards points to TD credit card holders, up to 8 points per dollar, and you only need a minimum of 200 TD points to redeem them, which is very low.

FAQs about Expedia for TD

Expedia for TD is a co-branded website that allows TD Travel Rewards cardholders to use TD reward points to make travel-related purchases. Users can leverage Expedia’s vast catalogue and flexibility to save money. The platform offers all products and services found on Expedia.ca.

Expedia for TD is very easy to use. Sign up for an account and shop like you normally would and choose to redeem your points. The website will show points you have earned and you will have the option to redeem some or all of your points (increments of 200) when you make a purchase. It, however, is only for TD Travel Rewards Card holders.

Expedia has a Price Match policy that allows users to book hotels or flights at the cheapest possible rate. Under this policy, the platform will match ‘prices’ if you find the same offer at a cheaper rate. However, they only price match hotels as well as flight+hotel packages. Here’s how it works: You search for a hotel on Expedia and find one that costs $110 a night. You book the hotel and then run a Google search and find the same hotel on a different website going as low as $90 per night. You will now have the option to contact Expedia and request that they bring the price down under the ‘Price Match’ policy as the same hotel is available at a lower rate. However, the policy will come into effect only if the following conditions are met: Your check-in time is at least 48 hours away for hotel bookings. The travel dates on both platforms are identical. You must have booked in the last 24 hours in case of a travel package. The airline’s booking code, cabin class, and cancellation policy must be identical. The hotel’s room type, check-in timing, cancellation policy, and add-ons such as breakfast must be identical. The policy will not be applicable if any of these requirements are not met. For example, if the Expedia package comes with a free breakfast or early check-in but the other booking doesn’t come with these perks. You will have the option to request a refund of the difference ($20 in this case) if all these requirements are met.

Expedia for TD is up and running. Consider using a different platform or browser if it doesn’t work for you. Clearing your cache and using a VPN might also work.

You can earn up to 9 TD points for booking hotels through Expedia for TD.

Expedia is cheap and one of the best platforms for booking hotels, airline tickets, and tours. It offers discounted rates and even has special promo codes that can help users save even more.

One point is said to be worth half a cent. This means you will need 200 TD points to spend 1$ on Expedia for TD. It is in line with what other providers offer .

You will be able to use airline discount codes on Expedia for TD. Check the official site for the latest codes or sign up for the newsletter.

You might have the option to change your seat based on your booking type. Some airlines offer free changes and some require a fee. Check the terms and conditions before you book a flight.

To contact Expedia for TD, customers can use the dedicated phone line exclusively for the Expedia for TD program. The number is 1-877-222-6492 . Customers can also reach them by contacting customer support through the portal. For general questions, they can visit the Help Center on the Expedia For TD website.

Whether or not Expedia for TD is worth it depends on your personal travel habits and credit card use. For those who travel frequently, you can take advantage of the opportunity to earn TD Rewards points on all your purchases, including extra points on travel booked through Expedia for TD. These points can be redeemed for travel purchases, gift cards, merchandise, and more, potentially leading to significant savings.

Expedia.ca is the general website for Expedia’s travel booking services available to all consumers. On the other hand, Expedia for TD is a partnership between Expedia and Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) specifically designed for eligible TD credit card holders. Expedia for TD customers enjoy some unique benefits. For instance, they can earn TD Rewards points at a higher rate for bookings made through the Expedia for TD portal. These points can then be used towards future travel, making it a beneficial program for frequent travelers.

Categorized: Miles & Points

Travel can be expensive, so looking to other tools, such as miles and points to lower costs, is a great option for many Canadians. While there are many standalone loyalty programs, most banks offer their own loyalty programs to build brand loyalty and provide added value for their customers.

TD Bank has its own loyalty program called TD Rewards which is used with Expedia for TD, their own co-branded travel booking platform. Customers can redeem their TD Rewards through Expedia for TD for travel-related purchases to save on costs for their next vacation.

Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about Expedia for TD and how you can utilize your TD Rewards points to get the most value.

What is Expedia for TD?

Expedia for TD is a third-party online travel agency available exclusively to TD customers who hold an active TD Rewards earning credit card.

Eligible TD customers can make travel bookings on Expedia for TD and redeem their TD Rewards points , the in-house loyalty program currency of TD Bank. Expedia for TD may also offer exclusive travel discounts and deals for members when making bookings.

expedia for td logo

Not only can TD Rewards points be redeemed on Expedia for TD, but cardholders who make purchases on Expedia for TD with their TD Rewards earning credit card will earn TD Rewards points at an accelerated earning rate. With that in mind, if you were already going to make a reservation with a third-party hotel booking website , consider using Expedia for TD to earn even more points per dollar spent on your travel purchase.

What Redemptions Can I Make with Expedia for TD?

Expedia for TD is similar to other online travel agencies, allowing customers to book and redeem their TD Rewards points toward a number of travel expenses. These expenses include flights, hotels, car rentals, all-inclusive vacations, cruises, train travel, and other travel activities.

When redeeming points toward these travel purchases, customers can use TD Rewards points to cover the entire purchase (if they have enough points) or use a combination of TD Rewards points and cash.

What Credit Cards are Linked to Expedia for TD?

TD offers four credit cards that earn TD Rewards and thus can be used on Expedia for TD: three personal credit cards and one business credit card.

Personal Credit Cards

The TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite card is the best card that earns TD Rewards points but it does have an annual fee of $139. However, this card is the only one that has a minimum income requirement, requiring either an annual personal income of $60,000 or an annual household income of $100,000.

How to Use Expedia For TD

If you are interested in redeeming TD Rewards points through Expedia for TD, visit the Expedia for TD website and log in. The booking process is very similar to using any third-party online travel agency.

Once logged in, you will be presented with the search bar. You can select the type of travel booking you are interested in making and fill out the applicable details. For this example, I will walk through a hotel booking on Expedia for TD but it is very similar when making a flight booking, rental car reservation, or other travel purchase.

Once you search, you will be presented with several available properties for the specific date. When booking through Expedia for TD, it will show the cash rate in addition to how many TD Rewards points can be redeemed to pay for this stay.

Select the hotel or resort you are interested in staying at and the room type. Notice that it also says I will earn “up to 3,143 TD Rewards points” on this booking. That earning rate only applies if I pay entirely in cash for this booking and use my credit card which earns TD Rewards points.

Once you select your room type, you will arrive on the payment page. On this page, there is a separate box for redeeming TD Rewards points. Users can select how many TD Rewards points they want to apply towards their booking. Redemptions must be made in increments of 200 TD Rewards points, which means whole dollar value increments.

If the entire booking cannot be paid for using TD Rewards points, customers will need to use a credit card to cover the remaining cash cost. Ensure you use your credit card that earns TD Rewards points to maximize the return on your spending.

Is Expedia for TD the Best Redemption for My TD Rewards Points?

Yes, if you hold a TD credit card that earns TD Rewards points , redeeming them with Expedia for TD for travel purchases is the best value you can expect to receive from your earned points. Redemptions through Expedia for TD allow you to cash out your TD Rewards points at 0.5 cents per point, meaning 10,000 TD Rewards points are worth $50 CAD.

If you don’t want to use Expedia for TD, the second best option is to utilize the “Book Any Way Travel” feature. This allows customers to book travel on their TD Rewards earning credit card through any other vendor, such as a hotel booking directly through Marriott Bonvoy or Hilton Honors . Once the eligible charge is posted on the card, customers can redeem TD Rewards points at a rate of 0.4 cents per point, meaning 10,000 TD Rewards points are worth $40 CAD.

TD Rewards points can also be redeemed for gift cards, merchandise, statement credit, or education credit. However, these redemptions are all worth less than booking with Expedia for TD or using “Book Any Way Travel”, so always look to redeem your TD Rewards points for travel purchases, preferably through Expedia for TD, to get the most value.

If you hold a credit card that earns TD Rewards points, understanding the ins and outs of the Expedia for TD program is an important factor in ensuring you get the greatest possible value out of your points.

Frequently Asked Questions

Expedia Customer Service Info and Tips

Hopefully, nothing goes wrong with your trip when you book through Expedia, and everything’s smooth sailing. However, since Expedia is only a middleman between you and the travel service companies, there is a greater chance that a mix-up will occur than if you book things directly with a hotel, airline, car rental company, or cruise line. This is the unfortunate trade-off for getting better deals on your trips.

Just a heads-up that some of the services we’re reviewing here have affiliate partnerships with us, so we may earn a commission if you visit one of them and buy something. You can read more about how this works at https://techboomers.com/how-to-support-techboomers .

In the event that you need to correct something, you can call Expedia’s customer service hotline at:

  • 1-866-310-5768 (inside the U.S.)
  • 1-404-728-8787 (international)

Tips for Dealing with Expedia Customer Service

Unfortunately, there are many stories on the Internet about people who feel that Expedia’s customer service department hasn’t treated them very fairly. Regardless of how many of those stories are true or not, the fact of the matter is that we don’t work for Expedia, so we can’t change how their customer service department or their policies work.

The best that we can do for you is give you a set of general pointers so that you’re prepared to deal with Expedia’s customer service department, or one of their partnered travel company’s customer service departments, in case the worst should happen.

Read the fine print . Though we realize this is something that a lot of people don’t like or bother to do, it can save you some frustration when it comes to understanding why Expedia or a travel company isn’t doing much to help you. On the flip side, it can also be a source of evidence for you if you don’t think either of these groups is following their own policies.

Be patient, but persistent . Like most customer service departments of large companies, Expedia’s is very busy, and you should be prepared to be put on hold at points from times ranging from 10 minutes to 30 minutes, or even an hour. Do your best to keep calm and stay on the line for as long as you can. It’s the only way that you’ll make progress in solving the problem on Expedia’s end.

Ask for a supervisor or manager . Generally, the higher up the customer service ladder you go, the better the chance you’ll find someone who has the authority to act on your problem. Again, it may take some patience to get in touch with them, so be prepared for that.

Make physical/written copies of important information . This includes things like booking confirmations or any other special requests that you make through Expedia, such as specific seats on an airplane or a certain number of beds in a hotel room. This way, you have evidence on your side if there’s a problem.

Double-check your bookings with the actual travel companies . These companies are ultimately the ones you’re doing business with and providing the accommodations for your trip. Therefore, they have the final say when it comes to what you get. Plus, they’ll probably be more worried about having their public reputations damaged than Expedia will be.  After you book, call each travel company involved in your trip and ask for a written confirmation of anything specific that you’ve asked for through Expedia, such as a certain hotel room type or seat on an airplane. Or, better yet, record your phone call (and tell them you’re doing so for verification purposes) and ask for verbal confirmation that you’ll be getting exactly what you asked for. This puts the burden on them to back up their word.

Act early and often . The sooner you act and the more you work to resolve a problem, the greater the chance that you’ll be able to get a full refund, or at least some form of compensation. Plus, the problem will be off your mind and you’ll save yourself a nasty surprise.

Ask for physical records… or make your own! A good idea is to always ask for the name and employee ID number of any customer service representative whom you deal with. Also try asking the customer service representative to send you an email saying that they will fix the problem, and stay on the line until you receive it.  Or better yet, record the phone call, and tell the representative on the other end that you’re doing so for verification purposes. Again, this is so that you’ll have evidence to back up your claims if you’re having trouble solving the problem.

If all else fails, consider bringing in a third party . If neither Expedia nor the travel service at the heart of the problem is proving to be much help, consider going to a third party. Call your bank or credit card company and let them know what’s going on, and they may help you recover your money or stop Expedia or one of their partnered travel companies from charging you for anything that you shouldn’t have to pay for.  You may also want to file a complaint with a consumer advocacy group, such as the Better Business Bureau, and see if they will step in to help resolve the problem.

Does Expedia Have 24-Hour Customer Service? Everything You Need to Know

customer services

Traveling can be an incredibly exciting experience, but it can also be stressful when things don’t go according to plan. That’s where customer service comes in, and when it comes to booking travel, you want to make sure the company you choose has reliable and efficient customer service. Expedia is one of the largest online travel agencies in the world, but does it have 24-hour customer service? In this blog post, we’ll explore the ins and outs of Expedia’s customer service, including whether or not they offer 24-hour support, how to contact them, and the pros and cons of using their customer service. Whether you’re a frequent traveler or just planning your next vacation, this post will provide you with the information you need to make an informed decision about using Expedia.

What is Expedia?

Expedia is an online travel agency that was founded in 1996 as a division of Microsoft. In 2001, it became a standalone company and has since grown to become one of the largest online travel companies in the world. Expedia operates in over 70 countries, offering travelers the ability to book flights, hotels, rental cars, cruises, and vacation packages. The company has a vast network of travel partners, including airlines, hotels, and car rental companies, which allows them to offer customers a wide range of travel options at competitive prices.

Expedia’s website is user-friendly and easy to navigate, with a variety of search filters that make it easy to find the perfect travel options for your needs. The website also offers travel guides and reviews, so you can get a better idea of what to expect from your trip. Expedia has also developed mobile apps for iOS and Android, making it easy for travelers to book their trips on the go.

One of the unique features of Expedia is the Expedia Rewards program. This program allows customers to earn points on their bookings, which can then be redeemed for discounts on future travel. Expedia Rewards members also have access to exclusive deals and promotions.

Expedia’s Customer Service

Expedia has a reputation for providing excellent customer service, and they offer a variety of ways for customers to get in touch with them. Customers can contact Expedia’s customer service team via phone, email, or live chat. The company also has a dedicated customer service Twitter account (@ExpediaHelp) where customers can ask for help or get support.

Expedia’s customer service team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to assist customers with any questions or issues they may have. The company has customer service teams located around the world, which allows them to provide support in multiple languages.

In addition to traditional customer service, Expedia has developed a self-service platform called Expedia Partner Central. This platform allows hotel partners to manage their inventory, rates, and availability, as well as access analytics and reports. This system streamlines the booking process, making it easier for customers to find the right hotel at the right price.

Expedia’s customer service team is known for being responsive and helpful, with a focus on resolving customer issues quickly and efficiently. The company also offers a satisfaction guarantee, promising to work with customers to resolve any issues and make things right.

24-Hour Customer Service

One of the most significant benefits of using Expedia is its 24-hour customer service. This means that no matter what time of day or night it is, customers can get in touch with Expedia’s customer service team for assistance.

24-hour customer service is particularly important for travelers, as issues can arise at any time. Whether it’s a flight delay or a problem with a hotel reservation, having access to 24-hour customer service can help alleviate stress and ensure that issues are resolved quickly.

Expedia’s 24-hour customer service is available via phone, email, or live chat. The company’s phone support is available around the clock, with separate phone numbers for customers located in the United States and Canada, as well as international numbers for customers located in other countries.

Email support is also available 24 hours a day, and customers can expect a response within 24 hours of sending their message. Live chat support is another option for customers who prefer to communicate via chat rather than phone or email. The live chat feature is available on Expedia’s website and mobile app, making it easy for customers to get help on the go.

In addition to traditional customer service channels, Expedia also has a robust help center on its website. This help center includes a variety of articles and guides on topics like booking, cancellations, refunds, and more. Customers can also use the search function to find answers to specific questions or issues they may be experiencing.

One of the potential downsides of Expedia’s 24-hour customer service is that wait times can vary depending on the time of day and the volume of customers seeking assistance. During peak travel times, such as holidays or the summer vacation season, wait times may be longer than usual. However, the company is known for prioritizing urgent issues and working quickly to resolve them.

How to Contact Expedia’s Customer Service

There are several ways to get in touch with Expedia’s customer service team. The easiest and most convenient way is to use the live chat feature on the company’s website or mobile app. This allows customers to get help quickly and easily without having to wait on hold or navigate through a complex phone tree.

Another option is to call Expedia’s customer service hotline. The phone number is available on the company’s website and varies depending on the customer’s location. Customers in the United States and Canada can call 1-800-319-4834, while international customers can find their specific country’s phone number on Expedia’s website.

Email support is also available 24 hours a day, and customers can expect a response within 24 hours of sending their message. To send an email, customers can fill out the contact form on Expedia’s website or send an email directly to [email protected].

Finally, customers can also reach out to Expedia’s customer service team via social media. The company has accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and customers can send direct messages to the accounts to get help or ask questions.

Pros and Cons of Expedia’s Customer Service

Expedia’s customer service has several benefits, including its 24-hour availability, multiple channels of communication, and knowledgeable representatives. The company’s customer service team is known for being responsive and helpful, with a focus on resolving issues quickly and efficiently. Additionally, the help center on Expedia’s website provides a wealth of information and resources for customers to use.

However, there are also some potential downsides to Expedia’s customer service. Wait times can be long during peak travel times, and some customers have reported difficulty in getting their issues resolved. Additionally, while the company’s representatives are knowledgeable, there have been some complaints about their level of empathy and willingness to go above and beyond for customers.

Alternatives to Expedia’s Customer Service

While Expedia’s customer service is generally reliable and efficient, there are some alternatives for customers who prefer a different approach. One option is to book travel directly through the airline or hotel’s website, which often has its own customer service team available for assistance.

Another option is to use a travel agency or booking service that specializes in personalized service and support. These agencies often have dedicated travel advisors who can assist with everything from booking flights to planning itineraries and recommending activities.

Finally, some credit card companies offer travel concierge services as a perk of their premium cards. These services provide personalized assistance with travel booking and planning, including access to dedicated customer service representatives who are available 24/7 to help with any issues or questions.
