Free Trip to Hawaii Travel Sweepstakes For May 2022

Time to try your luck again! Enter these five Hawaii travel sweepstakes today, and perhaps you’ll be one of the lucky people vacationing in the islands on a free Hawaii vacation in 2022. Don’t delay as one contest just ended!

Beat of Hawaii has no affiliation with any of these travel sweepstakes, including who wins . So have fun, and let us know if you’re entering, and especially if you are the next lucky prize winner! It’s happened before where one of our Beat of Hawaii readers was the grand prize winner. You may be the next potential winner in a random drawing! So get going on your next Hawaii vacation with your spouse, siblings, friends, or other immediate family .

How to enter . Click on the title of each sweepstake/contest below to visit contest sites and complete entry forms. No purchase is needed. Some contests have just one winner, while others have weekly prize winners. Usually an alternate winner is chosen in case the grand price winner can’t be reached following the entry period. For contests with weekly winners, be sure to check back frequently. Also, be sure to uncheck any applicable boxes if you don’t want to receive other emails from contest sponsors .

Tip. Some readers have said they use a separate email address for their contact information when entering to win a free trip to Hawaii. That way, they can avoid potential spam in their regular mailbox.

hawaii is on my bucket list.

Greetings! Our whole family is planning a Thanksgiving trip this year to beautiful Hawaii! But me and my Fiancé are both working daily, but won’t be able to afford to join them without a lil’ blessing our way. This would be a great opportunity to get to know my new family. Stay healthy.

there was a Hawaii flight that once ditched near a ship mid ocean in the fifties. Pan am flight 6. simpleflying.com/pan-am-boeing-377-fatality-free-ditching-1956/

Wow if something like this would happen for me man it was hr some divine plan. Think lije this rarely happens even tho I live out here in vegas. I would be thankful and stund. Thanks for the opportunity:)

Please consider my husband and I. Our middle daughter lives in Kauai and after 7 years of asking us to see her beloved Kauai, following a cancer diagnosis last year, I agreed. Surgery got it all. Thank God. I can’t go back on my word to her now. I would only need the flight as I will stay with her. Thank You for creating more flights.

I don’t know that anyone who wouldn’t be happy a win a trip to Hawaii. I’ll be 89 in this month and that would make a very good birthday present. I’m sure that are a lot who deserve a good trip. So I hope the one who really deserves this trip will win.

Aloha, I would love to surprise my caregiver husband with this trip! Please consider us as We are getting ready to celebrate our 25 wedding anniversary and would love to show him how much I appreciate and love him. We have always dreamed of going to Hawaii especially Pearl Harbor this would be amazing! Mahalo!!

We had moved from Oahu in 2011. We have thrived in the mainland despite the blessings we needed from her family. However, my wife has been homesick for quite some time now. Although I have a job, and she does too, it just isn’t enough for us to save to make that trip back home for a visit. I know that she has been strong for this long to function with society away from what she had know all her life. But with God by our side I am positive that he will make it happen if it is his will.

Hello there,

Please consider me and my future husband for this trip. We are getting married on July 16th in Hampton Va. This would be the perfect honeymoon for us. Thank you for the opportunity and consideration!

Thanks, Paris T

I would love to take my wife to Hawaii, she is a nurse and is one of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met and touches so many lives in her work. This would be an amazing surprise for her and a dream come true, she has never seen the Pacific Ocean much less had a chance to swim in it. Thank you for the opportunity.

Please let me win a trip to Hawaii. I never been there before and can’t afford to go there. Thanks for the opportunity.

Jeff ritter | jun 23, 2024.

Scottie Scheffler headlines the field at the Travelers this week.

The PGA returned this week straight off the U.S. Open with another signature event, this time the annual Connecticut stop at the Travelers Championship. It's a big-money event on Tour, with a $20 million purse up for grabs and $3.6 million to the winner.

He's won the Masters, the Players and four signature events: the Arnold Palmer Invitational, RBC Heritage, Memorial Tournament and now the Travelers.

Ukraine-Russia war latest: Moscow vows to retaliate against US after missile attack on Crimea

The Russian defence ministry has claimed Ukraine used US-provided weapons in a strike on Crimea yesterday that killed at least four people and injured 151 more. Meanwhile, EU accession talks with Ukraine are approaching, in a political blow for Vladimir Putin.

That's all of our live coverage on the conflict for now.

We'll bring you any major developments overnight, and we'll be back with our regular updates in the morning.

The US is expected to announce it is sending an additional $150m (£118m) in munitions to Ukraine.

According to a US official, who spoke to the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity, the package includes anti-armour weapons, small arms, grenades and artillery rounds, among other support.

The upcoming shipment is also expected to include munitions for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS.

That system is capable of firing the longer-range missiles from the Army Tactical Missile System, or ATACMS, which Russia has said would prompt retaliation and risk escalating the conflict.

The package is expected to be announced tomorrow.

On day 850 of the Ukraine war, we take a closer look at how Ukrainian servicemen in the Donetsk region are taking the fight to Russian troops near by.

The images below show Mykhailo, Ihor and Oleh of the 33rd Separate Mechanised Brigade preparing and loading a self-propelled howitzer before firing towards Russian troops.

The first day of mourning has taken place in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Dagestan after attacks that the authorities say killed 20 people.

Gunmen opened fire on two Orthodox churches, a synagogue and a police post in the attacks in the cities of Makhachkala and Derbent yesterday.

Russia's national anti-terrorist committee described the attacks - in a predominantly Muslim region with a history of armed insurgency - as terrorist acts.

The attack is the deadliest in Russia since March, when gunmen opened fire at a concert in suburban Moscow, killing 145 people.

The affiliate of the Islamic State group in Afghanistan that claimed responsibility for March's raid quickly praised the attack in Dagestan, saying it was conducted by "brothers in the Caucasus who showed that they are still strong".

The Washington-based Institute for the Study of War argued that the Islamic State group's North Caucasus branch, Vilayat Kavkaz, was likely to have been behind the attack, describing it as "complex and co-ordinated".

Russian claims that the US was behind yesterday's strikes in Crimea are "ridiculous" and "hyperbolic", according to a spokesperson for the US state department.

Officials say four people died and around 150 more were injured in the attack as missile debris fell on a beach in Sevastopol in occupied Crimea.

Russia's defence ministry said the missiles used by Ukraine were US-supplied ATACMS missiles, and claimed US specialists programmed them.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters in Moscow earlier today that the "involvement of the United States, the direct involvement, as a result of which Russian civilians are killed, cannot be without consequences".

During a US state department briefing, spokesperson Matthew Miller was asked about Russia's claims, which he said were unfounded and wrong.

"I don't have any assessment of the underlying attack, including who was responsible for it. But you have seen Russia make ridiculous claims about responsibility in the past," he said.

"You might recall after the terror attack in Moscow in March, they blamed the US despite the US warning them about the attack.

"It's not unusual for Moscow to make ridiculous, hyperbolic claims about responsibility that aren't born out of facts."

Mr Miller had previously been asked about the strikes in Crimea, to which he said the US laments any civilian casualties in the ongoing war.

On providing weapons to Ukraine, Mr Miller added: "We provide weapons to Ukraine so that it can defend its sovereign territory against armed aggression, including in Crimea, which, of course, is part of Ukraine.

"Russia could stop this war today and end the suffering caused by the war Russia launched if it ended its occupation of sovereign Ukrainian territory and stopped launching attacks on civilians."

We reported earlier on a fire at a former Russian electronics research institute near Moscow that has killed at least eight people.

We've now got video of the scene - with people visible leaning out of windows as smoke engulfs the building.

It is not yet clear what caused the fire to start.

The EU today launched its 14th package of sanctions against Russia - this time targeting Vladimir Putin's liquefied natural gas exports (LNG) for the first time.

The measure is the latest attempt by the bloc to deny Mr Putin's regime of money as his war on Ukraine drags into its 29th month.

No EU bans on Russian gas yet

The sanctions, which will kick in after a nine-month transition period, fall short of an outright ban on Russian LNG shipments.

This partly reflects the fact that EU members are themselves still allowed to buy LNG from Moscow - even though the bloc has set a target of phasing out Russian fossil fuels by 2027.

The EU followed the lead of the United States and the UK in banning Russian oil imports, with one or two limited exceptions, in 2022 after Russia attacked Ukraine.

What latest sanctions do

The key measure in the package, signed off late last week in the face of opposition from Germany and Hungary, is a ban on trans-shipments off EU ports of Russian LNG - essentially preventing the commodity from being sold to third countries via EU ports.

Part of the package also targets specific vessels - including an initial 27 oil tankers - that are used to get around the price cap slapped on Russian oil by the G7 countries.

A video appearing to show a wounded Russian soldier being shot dead by another shows the "brutal culture" of Moscow's armed forces, according to a US-based thinktank.

Footage shared widely on social media over the weekend shows a Russian soldier injured by a drone strike, motioning to another soldier for help.

Instead, the other soldier kills him with a gunshot fired at point-blank range.

He does this instead of attempting to check the soldier's injury, attempting treatment, taking his identification tags or attempting a casualty evacuation, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) says.

"The attempted or deliberate killing of a fellow soldier is unprofessional, and ISW has observed instances of Russian fragging (the deliberate killing of supervisors) and other anecdotes demonstrative of a callous disregard for the lives of Russia’s own soldiers throughout the war thus far, both within Russia and amongst Russian troops on the battlefield," it says in its latest assessment.

"Fragging is generally indicative of extremely poor discipline amongst troops, a disconnect between tactical level commanders and their subordinates, as well as a blatant disregard for human life."

Sky News has not verified the authenticity of the video.

A fire at a former Russian electronics research institute near Moscow has killed at least eight people, state news agency TASS reports.

Two people jumped to their death from the top floors of the eight-storey building - in the town of Fryazino - which was engulfed by flames.

Regional governor Andrey Vorobyov said a 34-year-old man was in serious condition in hospital, while two firefighters were also being treated for injuries from the fire.

More than 100 firefighters are at the scene. Local emergency services said the man was the only person rescued from the blaze.

The building creates components for fighter jets, nuclear launch munitions, air defences and guided munitions.

Gunmen opened fire on two Orthodox churches, a synagogue and a police post in two cities in the Russian region of Dagestan yesterday.

Dagestan's governor, Sergei Melikov, tried to link the attacks with the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The US-based Institute for the Study of War has suggested it is likely the work of Islamic State's Northern Caucasus branch, Wilayat Kavkaz, but there is no confirmation of that.

Scottie Scheffler, PGA Tour, Travelers Championship

The Travelers Championship in Connecticut always delivers, and this year’s edition echoed that sentiment once again.

Scottie Scheffler won his sixth event of the year, becoming the first player since Arnold Palmer in 1962 to win six PGA Tour events before July 1 in a season. The win marks Scheffler’s fourth Signature Event title, along with his impressive victories at TPC Sawgrass and Augusta National .

But unlike his five prior wins in 2024, Scheffler needed to prevail in a playoff this time around. He defeated Tom Kim on the first playoff hole—the par-4 18th. Kim dunked his approach into the greenside bunker as his ball nestled in a buried lie. Scheffler, meanwhile, stuffed his second shot to 11 feet, which all but secured the title.

The 22-year-old Kim could not get up and down, and Scheffler lagged his putt next to the hole—a fresh cup thanks to the chaos that ensued on the 18th hole in regulation. Minutes before, protestors invaded the green, spraying colorful substances all over the putting surface and leaving marks everywhere. Consequently, the PGA Tour’s agronomy team had to cut a new pin location for the playoff: 11 steps on and five from the right. The interruption paused play for 15 minutes.

Then, after police had subjugated the trespassers, Kim rolled in a 10-footer for birdie to force a playoff with the top-ranked player in the world, who also dubs as one of his best friends. It produced a surreal moment at TPC River Highlands, one that both players will soon not forget.

Scottie Scheffler, Travelers Championship

5 Takeaways from Travelers Championship:

1. it’s scottie scheffler’s world.

Scottie Scheffler bounced back with a vengeance after his worst performance of the season at the U.S. Open . He carded two rounds of 64 and a pair of 65s to finish at 22-under par in regulation, seven days after posting 7-over. Scheffler was locked in all week, mainly due to a putter that rebounded nicely after a brutal week at Pinehurst No. 2.

The two-time Masters champion gained 2.540 strokes with the putter in Connecticut, good for 16th in this limited field. To help put that in perspective, Scheffler lost 1.51 strokes to the field last week, ranking 71st of 74 players who made the cut.

Granted, TPC River Highlands pales in comparison to No. 2 as it relates to green complexes and overall difficulty. But to win at this golf course, you have to shoot 4-or-5-under every day to have a solid chance to win.

“You have an off day; all of a sudden, it’s much harder to catch up,” Scheffler said.

Scottie Scheffler, Travelers Championship

“I feel like sometimes at the harder golf courses, you can fake it around a little bit for a day or two and hang around and hang, but sometimes these golf courses when they’re a little bit softer and not as demanding, there’s always a lot of birdies, just because the fields out here are so deep, and once you get behind, it can be harder to catch up.”

Scheffler made the putts when he needed to and failed to make a single mistake down the stretch. He looked unflappable for all four days, yet Scheffler burned a few lips on the back nine on Sunday. Imagine if a couple more of those putts had fallen.

Now, he will take three weeks off to rest and recuperate before The Open Championship at Royal Troon, leading many of Scheffler’s fellow professionals to breathe a sigh of relief.

2. Tom Kim is here to stay

Kudos to Tom Kim, who brought the World No. 1 to the brink on Sunday in Connecticut. Kim held a piece of the lead on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, an impressive feat at any PGA Tour event—let alone the eighth consecutive one you have played.

He did not have his best stuff with him early, as his even par 35 on the front nine reflected that. Despite that, Kim played spectacularly on the back nine. He got a big boost of momentum on the par-4 10th, where he knocked his approach to nine feet and subsequently drained the putt for birdie.

Three more birdies for Kim followed, none more important than the one on the 72nd hole. But Kim also took advantage of the scorable holes on the back nine: the par-5 13th and the drivable par-4 15th. You have to make birdie on those holes, or you will lose strokes to the field. Look no further than Akshay Bhatia, who was in the mix but faded thanks to lackluster pars on the 13th and 15th.

Tom Kim, Travelers Championship

Kim did not fade from the limelight, however. He shined in it, proving that he can take on any player in the world head-on. The Seoul, South Korea native will only get better from here.

“I fought hard. I really did. I played really well this week,” Kim said.

“I was really close, really, really close, but I was just a shot short. Unfortunately, when you’re going against Scottie, who I know very, very well, I knew that I had to play really good golf [on Sunday], and I felt like I did. It got tough out there with the wind, but I fought hard. It was just shy, but I’m taking some positive things going into the rest of the season.”

Unlike Scheffler, Kim will keep the pedal to the metal at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, the Detroit-area tournament that will mark his ninth tournament in a row.

3. Tony Finau, Patrick Cantlay: close, but no cigar... again

At one point late in the day, you saw Tony Finau and Patrick Cantlay’s names pop up towards the leaderboard. Finau tied the lead at 20-under with a birdie at the 15th hole, while Cantlay crept up to 19-under, thanks to back-to-back birdies on the 13th and 14th holes.

Could this be the week for Finau, who has not won since the 2023 Mexico Open? Or could Cantlay pick up his first trophy since the 2022 BMW Championship?

But their fate was sealed on the par-3 16th, which measured only 158 yards on Sunday. The large pond in front of the green, coupled with a front left-hole location and a devilish swirling wind, made things nearly impossible. It turned this short par-3 into a bear late in the day on Sunday, ranking as the second most challenging hole during the final round.

Patrick Cantlay, PGA Tour, Travelers Championship

Cantlay played in the group ahead of Finau and pulled his iron shot long and left. It settled up against the rough while sitting below the putting surface, thus making it all but impossible to save par. A bogey there dropped him back to 18-under, as he ultimately tied for fifth. Cantlay tied for third at Pinehurst No. 2 last week, his best career finish in a major. He could be someone to watch out for at Royal Troon, as his game finally looks to be in shape.

Finau, meanwhile, came up woefully short from the tee, as his watery demise led to a double-bogey five. He went on to tie for fifth, one week after tying for third at the U.S. Open. But, like last week, a mistake cost Finau a chance at glory. The chipping and putting mistakes did him in on the 13th hole on Saturday, while a poorly struck approach into the wind cost him today. At any rate, Finau will be back. It’s a matter of when, not if, he wins again.

4. Signature Events need work

We need more players in Signature Events.

I understand that the PGA Tour wants top players to compete against the best, but 71 players are not enough in one of the season’s marquee events. At a minimum, 100 players need to play. Too much talent in professional golf exists for the PGA Tour to roll out the red carpet for only a third of its members. Plus, golf is the most random sport of them all. Anything can happen on any given round on any given day, so why not add to the drama and expand Signature Events by 30 people or so?

So, in 2025, when the Travelers Championship will once again act as a Signature Event on the heels of the U.S. Open, I hope to see more than 72 players in the field. One hundred has a nice round number to it; plus, it’s not as if there is a night-and-day difference between the 72nd-ranked player and the 102nd. Heck, anyone of the top 1,000 players in the world realistically has the game to contend in a PGA Tour event. Just ask ninth-alternate John Daly.

Nevertheless, the Signature Event model is here to stay, but it certainly could use some enhancements. Adding more players who deserve an opportunity would be a good start.

Scottie Scheffler, Travelers Championship

5. TPC River Highlands: too easy?

Once again, TPC River Highlands yielded plenty of birdies and not a lot of bogies. That’s fine if you like surreal scoring, hoping somebody wins at 30-under par. But it just does not provide the entertainment value that other demanding courses do.

As Scottie Scheffler alluded to in his post-round presser, it’s almost more of a challenge to set ‘par’ at a 5-under 65, knowing that if you do not shoot a 65, you are losing strokes to the field. Look at Tom Kim, who shot a 4-under 66 as the final-round leader and lost—a tough pill to swallow.

But at 6,835 yards, the modern game has likely passed TPC River Highlands by. With that said, this course has committed itself to hosting the PGA Tour’s best once again in 2025 and should do so once again. It deserves it. The layout is spectacular, with the final four holes always producing drama. And the community embraces this tournament like a major championship. Plus, the hospitality for players, volunteers, media, and fans alike is all top-notch, a true five-star experience.

Yet, we have an idea: what if the Travelers Championship became the Northeast’s premier Signature Event, rotating around a bevy of top courses within the region? Obviously, this region has plenty of capital. So, perhaps Bethpage Black hosts one year while Liberty National slides in during another. Maybe TPC Boston will get back in the mix. Or Aronimink in Philadelphia. Ridgewood Country Club in New Jersey would be another viable candidate.

At any rate, the tour has an opportunity to take things a step further regarding its Signature Events by rotating courses in and out. Yes, the Hartford, Connecticut community would be heartbroken to see this tournament leave, but the Travelers Championship could always return to this area, too.

Scottie scheffler wins 2024 travelers championship, becomes first player since tiger woods to win six times in a season, share this article.

win a trip international 2022

CROMWELL, Conn. — Heading into Sunday, golf fans were faced with a tough question to ponder: On a rain-softened course that yielded a 59 Saturday, who would go low enough to win the $3.6 million prize?

Would it be Scottie Scheffler, who had already won five PGA Tour events, including the Players Championship and the Masters, or maybe Xander Schauffele, who won last month’s PGA Championship? Those stars, along with Collin Morikawa, Tony Finau, South Korea’s Sungjae Im, and rising star Akshay Bhatia, were all chasing Tom Kim, who was trying to be the first wire-to-wire winner at the Travelers Championship since Jordan Spieth did it in 2016.

As the contenders made their way through the early holes on the back nine, the leaderboard was more packed than I-95 on Sunday night leaving Cape Cod. At 2:20 p.m. local time, five golfers were tied for the lead at minus 19, with Tom Hoge just one shot back at minus 18.

In the end, Scheffler defeated Kim in a one-hole playoff to claim his sixth tournament of the season, but the event’s final hole experienced a bizarre twist that had people talking.

Playing the final hole, Scheffler stood at 22 under, with Kim trailing by a shot. The third member of their group, Akshay Bhatia, was four shots back and no longer a threat to win. As the three prepared to putt on the 18th green, protesters ran out and threw white and red powder on the putting surface . They also had devices that created smoke.

“It was definitely a bit weird. I saw one person out of the corner of my eye, and then I saw about five police officers sprinting around,” Scheffler said. “From my point of view, they got it taken care of pretty dang fast, and so we were very grateful for that. It seemed to go by really quickly to us.”

Bhatia added, “I was scared for my life. I didn’t even really know what was happening. All of a sudden, four, five people come out running on the green. I mean, it was kind of weird, but thankfully the cops were there and kept us safe, because that’s, you know, that’s just weird stuff.”

After police officers apprehended the group and took them away, Scheffler nearly holed a 27-foot putt that would have won the tournament in regulation. He tapped into for par to remain at 22 under, Bhatia two-putted for his par and finished T-5, and that left Kim alone to finish. After coming up short on two birdie putts on the 14th and 16th holes, Kim, whose approach shot nearly flew directly into the hole, drained a 10-foot birdie chance to force the playoff with Scheffler.

"Protesters at the @TravelersChamp during Sunday's final round were immediately arrested by members of law enforcement. The powder on the greens was removed, resulting in no damage to the 18th green. Our thanks to the Cromwell Police Department for their quick & decisive action." — David Dusek (@Golfweek_Dusek) June 23, 2024

“That can be a stressful situation, and you would hate for the tournament to end on something weird happening because of a situation like that,” Scheffler said. “So I felt like Tom and I both tried to calm each other down so we could give it our best shot there on 18.”

Replaying the 18th hole, Scheffler, the world’s No. 1 player and the 2024 Masters and Players Championship winner, did what he does so often. He hit a great drive down the middle of the fairway, then hit his approach shot to 11 feet to put pressure on Kim.

Kim found the fairway too, but with mud on his golf ball, his shot from 110 yards out went into a greenside bunker short and right of the hole. His next shot ran past the cup, realistically forcing him to make a 36-foot par-saving putt to extend the playoff. He missed it, and then Scheffler lagged his birdie putt to within a foot of the cup before tapping in for par and the win.

“I fought hard,” Kim said. “I’m going to definitely look at this week as a positive, it’s my best finish of the year. Despite almost coming through, having the lead last night, I just, against the best players in the world I fought really hard.”

Scheffler has every shot in the book, but in a pre-tournament press conference, he talked about having an ace up his sleeve in the form of his caddie, Ted Scott.

Before starting to work with Scheffler in 2022 and helping him win two Masters Tournaments, Scott was on the bag for all three of Bubba Watson’s wins at the Travelers Championship. “If there’s a difference of opinion, I’m probably going to lean towards him a little bit more than myself, just because I haven’t had the success on this golf course specifically,” Scheffler said on Wednesday.

When asked if Scott had given him some extra insights this week, Scheffler did not hesitate to give his caddie credit.

“I would say it was his game plan and kind of how he liked to attack the golf course,” Scheffler said. “Bubba (Watson) obviously had a lot of success here, and so Teddy watched him win numerous times and also have chances to win here numerous times, so he knew what we needed to do in order to get in position to have a chance to win the tournament. So, we stuck to our game plan and the way that we wanted to play the golf course, and like I said, he was a huge part of that game plan.”

In conditions that made Southern New England feel like South Louisiana, Scheffler’s win came just a week after he finished T-41 at the U.S. Open, by far his worst performance of 2024. His victory at TPC River Highlands was his sixth of the year and pushed his PGA Tour earnings for the season above $27 million.

Every player on the PGA Tour wants to win, but playing on Sunday alongside his friend Kim, with whom he shares a birthday (June 21), Scheffler admitted that he had mixed feelings at points during the day.

“It’s fun competing against your friends, but at the same time, it’s difficult, because part of me wants him to miss the putt and part of me wants him to make the putt,” Scheffler said. “And then when I see him make bogey in the playoff hole, it hurts because that’s my friend and that’s not a great feeling. But he should remember that putt he made on 18, because it was pretty special and he’s a great player and a great champion.”

Among the players who tried to keep up with Scheffler and Kim, Tom Hoge fired an 8-under 62 to finish tied for third with Im.

“To be honest, I don’t know if I really felt like I had a chance to win at any point,” said Hoge. “I felt like I was trying to make as many birdies as I could.”

Patrick Cantlay shot 65 to finish at 18 under, along with Tony Finau (66), Justin Thomas (66) and Bhatia (69).
