Nissan Stadium Information

Located on the east bank of the Cumberland River, directly across from downtown Nashville, The Nissan Stadium is the nation’s premier football venue. Funds for the venue were raised initially via an increased water tax, and the ongoing funding by an increase in Davidson County individual homeowner property tax. Despite a hurricane throwing a wrench into the process, and later on, an overflow from the Cumberland River flooding the playing surface by six feet, the construction of the Nissan Stadium was completed according to schedule.

The stadium first opened in 1999 with a match between the Tennessee Titans and the Atlanta Falcons. The Nissan Stadium is currently the residence of the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL), as well as the Tennessee State Tigers of Tennessee State University. The Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, college football bowl game played every December is held here, and is also used as a venue for soccer matches.

In addition, the stadium hosts major concerts from the world’s top performing artists, including the CMA Music Festival nightly concert festival held every June. The stadium also contains the facilities to host meetings, public events, and parties.

Nissan Stadium History

Opening its gates to guests for the first time in 1999, Nissan Stadium (then called Adelphia Coliseum) hosted its first regular season NFL game on September 12, 1999, when the newly relocated Tennessee Titans narrowly beat the Cincinnati Bengals, 36-35. The game was the culmination of a four-year-long endeavor that ultimately saw the Houston Oilers relocate from Texas to Nashville under the new Titans franchise name. Integral to the deal struck between Oilers owner Bud Adams and Nashville Mayor Bill Bredesen was an agreement that included building the team a new stadium on the east bank of the Cumberland River across from downtown Nashville.

With an initial construction cost of $290 million, Nissan Stadium has undergone a series of renovations and improvements since its construction in 1999. In 2012, Nissan Stadium was upgraded with new sound systems, high-speed elevators, LED ribbon boards and two massive HD Lighthouse LED video displays (measuring 157 feet by 54 feet), which where then the second-largest screens in an NFL stadium — behind the jumbo screens at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium.

Through its long history in Nashville, Nissan Stadium has hosted performances by iconic musical artists such as Beyoncé, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chris Stapleton, Ed Sheeran and The Rolling Stones. In addition to Titans games, the stadium has been the site of the NHL Stadium Series, Major League Soccer games, FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, the NCAA Music City Bowl, and the Music City Grand Prix.

Parking and Admission at Nissan Stadium

Though they often sell out, Nissan Stadium offers seasonal parking passes for its 17 surrounding lots, accessible from I-24 East via Exit 48 (James Robertson Parkway), Exit 49 (Shelby Street) and from I-24 West via Exit 47 (Jefferson Street). After exiting the interstate, guests should follow the roadside signs that indicate access to their specific lot letter (A-T). Nissan Stadium lots include 114 accessible parking spaces to accommodate guests with disabilities, who should have their ADA placard or license plate visible when entering the lot.

For fans and patrons without seasonal parking passes, parking options in downtown Nashville and in areas surrounding the stadium include parking garages located at 400 Charlotte Ave, 350 Deaderick St, 158 4th Ave N, 211 Commerce St, 100 Demonbreun St, 222 2nd Ave, 210 Molloy St and 314 3rd Ave S.

Rideshare options for Titans fans on game day include the InShuttle park-and-ride program that runs shuttles starting 90 minutes before kickoff until 15 minutes after kickoff. Shuttles resume again for approximately 90 minutes after the game ends. Roundtrip tickets cost $15 (free for children five and under) and accessible buses are available for guests with disabilities. Nashville’s only commuter train, the WeGo Star, is also available for rideshare on game days as The Titan Express, bringing guests and fans from the surrounding communities of Lebanon, Hamilton Springs, Martha, Mt. Juliet, Hermitage and Donelson to Nissan Stadium.

Entrance to Nissan Stadium is granted two hours prior to kickoff on game days and guests are encouraged to arrive early.

Nissan Stadium Bag Policy

Fans visiting Nissan Stadium are strongly encouraged to not bring bags into the stadium to help make getting through the gates faster. However, in compliance with the NFL’s clear bag policy, exceptions are made for clear bags no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ and non-transparent bags no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5.″ To ensure the safety of guests, the list of prohibited items includes, but is not limited to: weapons of any kind, illegal drugs, outside alcoholic beverages, drones, umbrellas, coolers, glass bottles, aerosol and non-aerosol cans, among other items. For a complete list of prohibited items guests should visit nissanstadium.com .

How Much Are Morgan Wallen Tickets?

Compared to the likes of Adele and Taylor Swift’ s tour prices, Morgan Wallen tickets are quite reasonable. Prices start around $100, but can easily rise to four figures if you select one of the VIP packages available on Ticketmaster. And if you are interested in his single show in London, rest assured that it doesn’t cost much more than the U.S. concerts, with prices starting a little under the $150 mark.

Keep in mind that many ticket platforms will tack on fees at checkout that aren’t part of the original ticket price. Be sure to consider that when placing your order online.

After arrest, Morgan Wallen says he's 'not proud' of tossing chair off bar's sixth floor

M organ Wallen has broken his silence about his April 8 arrest on suspicion of throwing a chair from the top of a six-story Nashville bar.

The "One Thing at a Time" and "Whiskey Glasses" singer said in a Friday tweet that he's "not proud" of his behavior and that he accepts responsibility for his part in the incident that played out at Chief's, which is co-owned by his fellow recording artist and "Man Made a Bar" collaborator Eric Church .

"I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility,” the 30-year-old wrote on X, formerly Twitter. "I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe," he wrote.

Days after his arrest, Wallen headed back out on the continuation of his One Night at a Time stadium tour — based on his corresponding album "One Thing at a Time," which was the most-consumed album in the U.S. last year — and said that the incident will not affect upcoming concerts.

"Regarding my tour, there will be no change," he wrote.

The country superstar is due in court on May 3 amid a three-night stint at Nashville's Nissan Stadium.

Wallen has been charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, the Associated Press reported. Witnesses told officers that they watched Wallen pick up a chair, throw it over the roof and laugh about it, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by AP. The chair Wallen allegedly threw landed about 3 feet away from some police officers, who talked to witnesses and reviewed security footage of the incident.

The singer-songwriter was arrested in 2020 on public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges after being kicked out of Kid Rock’s bar in downtown Nashville. In January 2021, Wallen released the "Dangerous" double album , which went on to become the first album in history to spend 100 weeks in the Billboard 200 chart's Top 10.

Then the next month, he was infamously suspended from his record label and his music was temporarily removed from radio and streaming playlists after video surfaced of him drunkenly using a racist slur . He apologized for language he described as "me on hour 72" of a 72-hour bender, spent time out of the spotlight working on himself and has since mounted an impressive comeback.

Last spring, during the original part of the One Night at a Time tour, the musician abruptly canceled a series of concerts to go on “doctor-ordered vocal rest." He is set to return to some of the canceled venues during the tour extension.

Video footage from April shows that much of the seating of the general stands has been set up while the ground has also been leveled and prepared for the games that are scheduled to begin on June 1.

ICC, in a news release Thursday , said the turf outfield has also been laid and "preparation work" on the ground has been completed while the "installation of the pitches begins next week."

“It is incredible to see what has been accomplished in just a few short months," T20 USA, Inc. CEO Brett Jones said in a statement. "The stands are up, the seats are in, the technology is being installed, the outfield has been laid and the pitches are on their way."

"We can’t wait to welcome the world to this incredible venue this June," he added.

The stadium is expected to be complete by May 21, according to the timeline released by the ICC. A test event will be played at the venue on May 27, while the first match at the venue, Sri Lanka vs. South Africa would be played on June 3.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

By Claudia Looi 2 Comments

Komsomolskaya metro station

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.
