The Inbetweeners star confirms 'talks have happened' for comeback with all main cast returning

The inbetweeners' joe thomas said he'd be up for doing it.

The Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas has said there have been conversations about how a possible comeback for the iconic comedy could happen.

Appearing on the Always be Comedy with James Gill podcast, Thomas was naturally asked whether there had been any discussions on the possibility that we might ever see more of The Inbetweeners .

When you do something as big as The Inbetweeners, you're pretty much going to be asked about it for the rest of your life.

We've had three series, two movies and a reunion special but it's been five years since the last Inbetweeners thing and 10 years since we last saw the actual characters on screens.

Thomas was quizzed on whether he would 'get the gang back together' if The Inbetweeners creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris said they wanted to bring the show back in some form or another.

When asked 'has that conversation ever happened', the Inbetweeners star said it had 'happened in various forms and all of us feel like it would be nice'.

He spoke about how highly he thought of Simon Bird, James Buckley and Blake Harrison, adding that he would 'always work with them again' and described what a possible Inbetweeners comeback could look like.

Thomas reckoned that it would probably have to be a film and not a series, and wondered how they'd tackle the fact that he was now 40.

It's not like the boys could all meet up back at school, as he floated the possibility of some kind of 'stag do' to Las Vegas, but then said we wouldn't really be seeing Simon, Will, Jay and Neil as they normally were if that was happening.

The idea of the quartet being part of a five-a-side team together so they could stay in touch as adults was also suggested.

"I don’t think they could do another series. You'd have to be a movie. You'd have to have a very, very clever device for doing another series," he said.

"A movie, I think works with the right idea. It would be challenging to do another series, just because of the timeline. But with the film, there are all sorts of options."

In the past some cast members have said they probably wouldn't return to The Inbetweeners , with James Buckley and Simon Bird agreeing that it would be 'sad and creepy' to go back now they're in their 30s and 40s.

It wouldn't be the show we all loved , but Joe Thomas told Always Be Comedy that everyone involved still likes each other and if there was a good enough idea something could happen.

He said: "We’re all still around, we’re all still in each other’s lives. We all still like each other. And if it was something that came up, I think we would want to do it.

"I feel like we all still really like each other. We’ve all been able to go away and get various monkeys off our backs, in terms of things that we felt we needed to do other than The Inbetweeners to prove something to ourselves.

"Everybody’s anxiety would be, ‘Will it be as good?’. That is what we would be going in with."

Missy Higgins announces final Perth encore show of The Second Act Tour at Kings Park

Missy Higgins fans will have one last chance to catch the singer-songwriter when she plays a final WA encore show in December.

Higgins has been travelling across Australia for the past five months on her The Second Act Tour, which celebrates The Sound Of White’s 20th anniversary.

It sees the 41-year-old Melbournian perform her landmark album in its entirety after a stripped-back opening set featuring songs from her forthcoming album The Second Act.

Higgins was in WA in April, where she performed two shows at Perth Concert Hall.

It was announced on Wednesday that she will be coming back on December 15 for one last hurrah, playing at Kings Park and Botanic Garden.

The final WA show will see Aussie singers Ruby Fields and Ullah also perform.

It will be an incredible finish to a massive year for Higgins, which will include her induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame in November.

Ahead of the show, Higgins said: “I never imagined it would take me most of 2024 to do this Australian tour, but it’s been such a great experience on every level that I’m glad the band and I will get to share it a few more times with all these big crowds.

“There have been lots of fans posting about how disappointed they were to miss out on getting a chance to see this two-act show so now they’ll have no excuse!”

The Second Act will be released on September 6.

Higgins is known for popular songs Scar, Steer and Where I Stood released in the early 2000s.

Mellen Events, Fanclub and Ticketmaster presales commence at 11am on Friday before tickets go on sale on Tuesday at 11am.

Justin Thomas is no longer one of the youngest players on the PGA Tour. At 31, he is among the veterans with multiple Ryder Cup and President Cup appearances.

However, that does not mean he is out of the loop. The former Alabama golfer understands the importance of social media.

This week at the Tour Championship , the Creator Classic will be on Wednesday evening. Sixteen golf influencers and YouTube content creators will play in a nine-hole stroke-play event.

Golf is becoming increasingly popular. For the sport to continue to grow, the younger demographic must be interested, and implementing these creators helps with that.

“It’s very cool. It’s obviously very different. That’s the day and age we’re in right now,” Thomas said. “At the end of the day, if it gets more kids and people interested in golf, that’s what’s most important.”

Thomas is probably one of the most recognizable names on the PGA Tour. He is a fan favorite. The 15-time PGA Tour winner acknowledged that he did not know the field very well, but as long as the fans do, that is what matters.

“There’s a handful of influencers out there that people know probably way better than me,” he said. “And that’s not right or wrong, but that’s the power of it.”

The two-time PGA Championship winner uses social media and is one of the more active guys on the Tour. When Thomas knew he was in the Tour Championship field, he posted a hilarious meme about himself.

He credited the 16 creators for choosing to compete in the Creator Classic, taking time out of their schedules and doing something right for golf.

“Their time is valuable, like ours. For them to take the time on a big week like this, play a course, and have the opportunity to create a little bit more buzz, that’s great. It gives kids a different avenue to want to be involved in golf. I think that’s a good thing, regardless if it’s professional or influencer.”

Thomas's acknowledgment that being an influencer is still a great way to get into the sport is massive. The PGA Tour and LPGA make up a tiny percentage of the golf population, so it only improves the sport if they can find another way to get involved.
