Our Ecstatic Travelers Tell it All
We had a phenomenal experience with Samantha. We all had arrived from a full day of meetings after a transatlantic flight, and I was slightly low energy and unsure if booking this team building experience tour had been a good idea. Enter Samantha with her incredible energy, joy, knowledge and humor. Within minutes, we were all energized and thoroughly enjoyed this unique and fun Experience. Samantha was incredibly accommodating to our needs as I changed the meeting spot on her several times and is such a good communicator. I would highly recommend spending a couple of hours with her to learn more about the beautiful town of Zurich

After a fun, low-scoring day of best ball, Sunday’s alternate-shot format sets up an exciting and stressful final 18 holes of the 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans at TPC Louisiana in Avondale. However, before we get to the final round, we have to talk about Saturday’s third-round action.
Thanks to a near sub-60 effort, Zac Blair and Patrick Fishburn, former teammates at BYU, hold the 54-hole lead at 23 under. They’ll tee off Sunday afternoon one stroke ahead of Luke List and Henrik Norlander and two strokes in front of the Ryan Brehm/Mark Hubbard and Rory McIlroy/Shane Lowry teams — we’ll get to the Irishmen in a minute.
Zurich Classic: Sunday tee times, TV info
If you missed any of Saturday’s action, no worries, we have you covered. Here’s everything you need to know from the third round of the Zurich Classic, plus a look at some important information for Sunday’s final round.
Former BYU teammates go low

Blair and Fishburn were not messing around on Saturday.
The 123rd- and 326th-ranked players in the world, respectively, got it going early on Day 3, birdieing the par-4 opener and making eagle on the par-5 second. They’d add four more birdies before making the turn with a 7-under 29. With a sub-60 round in reach, Team Blair/Fishburn birdied four of the first five holes on the back nine and walked to the 15th tee box with a two-shot lead.
Fishburn knocked in a lengthy birdie effort on 15, pushing the pair to 12 under with three holes remaining.
However, if there’s such a thing as a disappointing 60, the pair from BYU failed to reach the 59 mark after three straight pars to finish the day.
“Yeah, just kind of rode Fish all day,” Blair told the media. “He played good. Started off super hot. Birdieing on 1, eagle 2, birdie 4, birdie 5. I mean, it was pretty textbook out there for him.”
Has this come outta nowhere? Yeah, kinda.
Blair had missed three straight cuts coming into the week with his best finish coming at the Sony Open back in January (T-30). Fishburn had missed seven cuts in his first nine events this year with no top 20s.
Both players are looking for their first Tour wins.

Started slow, finished strong

McIlroy and Lowry slept on the 36-hole lead, but when they teed off for their third trip around TPC Louisiana, they were toward the bottom of the leaderboard. After a par on No. 1 and a birdie on the par-5 second, the Irish tandem played the next four holes even par. A slow start, especially in best ball.
Then they got it going.
Birdies at Nos. 7, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 16 got them in a tie for third at 20 under, just three shots back of the lead.
On the par-3 17th, after McIlroy missed the green right, Lowry played a beautiful, flighted shot into a gusty wind and knocked it inside 10 feet but couldn’t convert.
A hole later, after McIlroy found the greenside bunker with a 5-wood on 18, the Northern Irishman nearly splashed his third in for eagle but settled for a tap-in birdie.
McIlroy and Lowry will tee off Sunday two back of the lead.

Four ball is a great format to watch if you love birdies. Here are the teams that took it the deepest Saturday in New Orleans.
- Zac Blair and Patrick Fishburn: 12-under 60
- Kevin Yu and C.T. Pan: 10-under 62
- Peter Malnati and Russell Knox: 10-under 62
- K.H. Lee and Michael Kim: 10-under 62
- Luke List and Hendrik Norlander: 10-under 62

- Foursomes (also known as alternate shot): Players will decide before teeing up which team member will tee off on odd holes and who will tee off on even holes (for example: Shane Lowry tees off on No. 1, Rory McIlroy tees off on No. 2, Lowry tees off on No. 3 and so on). The players will alternate shots until the ball is holed. Don’t expect the low scores we saw Saturday, this format is difficult.

Share All sharing options for: PGA Tour Canadian duo taking Zurich Classic of New Orleans by storm again
Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor know each other’s games inside and out, which explains why they are once again near the top of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans leaderboard at 12-under.
At last year’s Zurich Classic, the Canadians finished solo second at 28-under par, two strokes behind first-time winners Nick Hardy and Davis Riley. Their similar styles, in which they keep the ball in play and find a ton of greens, helped them soar up the leaderboard last year during Sunday’s alternate shot format with a 9-under 63.
“We rode the momentum after Sunday’s round last year. We were a little behind starting Sunday and made a great push there,” Taylor explained after their 3-under 69 during Friday’s alternate shot.
“So after two days, we are in an awfully better position. The forecast calls for a lot of wind, which it was today, so I guess we’ll be used to it, but it will be a little bit tougher. Hopefully, [on Saturday], we can get a good one there and then hold on for dear life on Sunday.”
Winds have gusted up to 25 miles per hour at TPC Louisiana Friday, and they will continue to blow that hard throughout the weekend.
That will create challenging conditions for the field, but the wind will not phase the Canadians.
“We’ll meet tonight, but I don’t think we’ll be concerned with what happens tomorrow. We’ll watch the hockey game tonight, hang out, have some fun,” Hadwin said.
“We’ll see what [Saturday] brings. We got two cracks at every hole [with the best ball format]. Yeah, keep giving ourselves birdie chances. Again, I love our games in this alternate-shot format. Just steady, don’t make a lot of mistakes, both putt very well. I think [Saturday] is more of a let’s make sure we’re in a position that we’re right there, and if we are, I like our chances.”
Every player in the field will look to make birdies Saturday, knowing that the pressure subsides with two balls in play per group. But the key to alternate shot is limiting mistakes and keeping yourself in position—something this duo does adequately.
“If we are out of position, we’re very smart about the next shot,” Hadwin added.
“Just trying to set up a chance to get up and down.”
Not only does limiting mistakes help, but familiarity with each other does too. That may explain why Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry , a pair of Ryder Cup stars, sit atop the leaderboard at 13-under.
But Hawdin and Taylor have known each other since their teenage years. They even played together in the 2018 World Cup of Golf in Australia, where they tied for fourth.
Yet, this marks their second appearance in the Zurich Classic, and so far, it has been a success.
“I felt like the first five or six years when this event had changed [to a team event], our schedules kind of didn’t really line up,” Taylor said.
“I remember I had a really good friend’s wedding, so I couldn’t come to this event. We came together last year, and we played great. So we decided to run it back, which is fun.”
The Canadians, like Joel Dahmen and Keith Mitchell , are having plenty of fun. But now they have their eyes set on winning the trophy come Sunday evening. Considering their similar styles, familiarity, and easy-going personalities, they have as good a chance as anyone to pull out a victory in The Big Easy.

2024 Zurich Classic leaderboard, scores: Rory McIlroy & Shane Lowry hold share of lead entering weekend
Mcilroy and lowry remain on top of a crowded leaderboard as competition enters its third day.
The 2024 Zurich Classic toughened up Friday after some relatively free-flowing play in the first round. Instead of best ball format where teams get to take the better of their players' two scores on each hole, Round 2 was alternate shot where teammates often left their partners in terrible positions.
Nobody, it seemed, was immune. Matt Fitzpatrick missed a shockingly short putt that his brother, Alex, had to clean up. Will Zalatoris flubbed a shot from the woods on a thick bed of pine straw that Sahith Theegala had to come in and try to address.
Even the co-leaders, Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry, had their moments.
"I missed a pretty short one on 18 and then another one on the second," Lowry said. "I started to get a little bit into myself, but to roll that one in [at the fourth hole for par] was nice, and to play the last few holes the way we did was really nice, too.
"I think a bit of a lesson there for myself to kind of keep going and just keep trying and keep plugging away. We did that today, and I'm pretty happy how we finished."
How they finished was birdie-birdie-par to shoot a 2-under 70 and maintain a share of the lead after 36 holes of play at 13 under.
It's a crowded leaderboard, though, which should make for a fun few days of play this weekend at the Zurich Classic. Let's take a closer look at the second round and what to expect on Saturday and Sunday.
The leaders
T1. Davis Thompson & Andrew Novak (-13) T1. Aaron Rai & David Lipsky (-13) T1. Rory McIlroy & Shane Lowry (-13) T1. Ryan Brehm & Mark Hubbard (-13)
Obviously, McIlroy and Lowry are the headliners among this group, especially after shooting 61 to open play as they also co-led after Day 1. Given their firepower, they could follow that with something similar in the second best ball portion of the event Sunday. They are an endearing team, one that is easy to cheer, but also they work well together as McIlroy pointed out on Friday after their 70.
"As Shane said, after those it's easy to sort of get hard on yourself," he explained. "I was just trying to keep him as positive as possible and just remind him that I'm here and I'm here to back him up in any way that I can. So, yeah, just trying to keep him positive."
Not every team in this field is as tight-knit as McIlroy and Lowry, and while that can sometimes work against two players, in this instance of these two playing together for the first time at this event, it seems to be working in their favor.
Other contenders
T5. Callum Tarren & David Skinns (-12) T5. Nick Taylor & Adam Hadwin (-12) T5. Zach Johnson & Ryan Palmer (-12) T5. Patrick Cantlay & Xander Schauffele (-12)
Cantlay and Schauffele made a late run at this 13-under lead but bogeyed the par-5 last to fall into a tie for fifth. Still, they shot a round-of-the-day 67 in alternate shot and will be terrifying if they're anywhere close to the lead after best ball on Saturday. For whatever reason -- perhaps because they are top 10 players in the world, perhaps because they play together all the time, or perhaps because they have so much experience in this format -- they have been among the best alternate shot teams at this event ever and hold the record in that format at 63.
There is nobody I would trust more Sunday.

2024 Zurich Classic updated odds, picks
Odds via Sportsline consensus
- Rory McIlroy & Shane Lowry: 13/5
- Patrick Cantlay & Xander Schauffele: 7/2
- Andrew Novak & Davis Thompson: 9-1
- Nick Taylor & Adam Hadwin: 10-1
- Corey Conners & Taylor Pendrith: 12-1
- Aaron Rai & David Lipsky: 14-1
- Ryan Brehm & Mark Hubbard: 16-1
I really like the Canadian duo of Taylor and Hadwin, who are 12 under and just one back of the lead. There are currently 39 teams that are within five of the lead, though, which is a crazy number. The bigger problem for Taylor and Hadwin is that they have two Ryder Cup duos ahead of them. Still, Taylor is one of the more underrated players in the world, and both of those guys can get scorching. If they can ham and egg it at the right time on Saturday, they could hold the lead on Sunday.

AVONDALE, La. (AP) — Former BYU teammates Patrick Fishburn and Zach Blair shot a 12-under 60 in better-ball play Saturday to take the third-round lead in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the PGA Tour’s only team event.
At 23-under 193, Fishburn and Blair had a one-stroke lead over Luke List and Henrik Norlander, with the Irish duo of Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry — tied for the lead after each of the first two rounds — two strokes back.
Fishburn and Blair, both winless on the PGA Tour, have been playing golf together since their junior high school days in Ogden, Utah.
“It’s kind of why you’re out here playing is to have opportunities like this,” Blair said. “I’ve been out here a handful of years now, so I know that they don’t come that often, and so we’ll do our best to go take advantage of it.”
Fishburn had three birdies and an eagle on the first five holes at wind-swept TPC Louisiana, where the wind gusted to 25 mph. Windy conditions are also expected for Sunday for the alternate-shot finale.
List and Norlander had a 62. List eagled the second and 11th holes.
“We just got in a really good rhythm early,” Norlander said. “I felt like we were both hitting fairways. Not necessarily hitting it really close, but it felt like early we had two chances on every hole.”
McIlroy and Lowry shook off a slow start to birdie seven of their last 12 holes. They shot 64 to join Ryan Brehm and Mark Hubbard, who also had a 64, at 21 under. Canadians Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin topped the group at 20 under.
“Look, it was a tough day,” McIlroy said. “Birdies were a little harder to come by today than they were on Thursday in the better-ball format. I think today was about staying patient knowing that the course was going to present some opportunities, especially on that back nine.”
Fishburn and Blair were a stroke off the tournament record.
“Just kind of rode Fish all day,” Blair said. “He played good. I mean, it was pretty textbook out there for him.”
They made the turn in 7-under 29 and birdied five of the first six holes on the back nine before finishing with three pars.
“It’s pretty easy to hit shots when Zac is always in the fairway, always on the green,” Fishburn said. “We ham-and-egged it really good today.”
