traveller lyrics

I see the sunrise creeping in Everything changes like the desert wind Here she comes & then she’s gone again

I’m just a traveller on this earth Sure as my heart’s behind the pocket of my shirt I’ll just keep rolling till I’m in the dirt Cause I’m a traveller, oh I’m a traveller I couldnt tell you honey I don’t know Where I’m going but I’ve got to go Cause every turn reveals some other road & I’m a traveller, oh I’m a traveller

My heartbeat’s rhythm is a lonesome sound Just like the rubber turing on the ground Always lost & nowhere bound

When I’m gone Somebody else will have to feel this wrong Somebody else will have to sing this song Somebody else will have to sing along Sing along

Chris Stapleton Explains the Deeper Meaning Behind ‘Traveller’

Stapleton set the record straight about the true inspiration that created his massive radio hit.

Chris Stapleton Explains the Deeper Meaning Behind ‘Traveller’

While Chris Stapleton has gone on the record in a few interviews that he created the songs on his successful album, Traveller , based on the music his father liked, he never really dove into the meaning of the title track.

Getting serious about the theme behind his hit, “Traveller,” Stapleton went to Jimmy Fallon to let fans know the real truth about the lyrics. Although many could assume that it’s about being a man on the road or a drifter finding home from place to place, it goes beyond anyone’s wildest imaginations: NBA referees.

“Well, the song, ‘Traveller,’ is about seeing life through the eyes of an NBA referee. You know, they see this kind of stuff all day long. This one’s for you guys. Oh, and for the people that work at Foot Locker, too,” he said during a video skit for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon .

Pop artists Hailee Steinfeld and DNCE also shared their lyrical inspiration for their hits as well, but Stapleton’s response remained a proud moment for many country and basketball fans.

Jokes aside, Stapleton will be playing many shows throughout the year. His first stop is the Houston Rodeo in March, as well as Tortuga Music Festival in early April. He will also join Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers this summer for a couple special appearances during their 40th anniversary tour. Fans can find tickets for the shows through Stapleton’s website .

What is Smeraldo? Exploring the meaning behind BTS Jimin's new song

O n June 28, 2024, BTS' Jimin dropped the pre-release single Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) through HYBE LABELS' official YouTube Channel. As BTS ARMYs watched the artist's latest record, the fictional Smeraldo flower captivated their attention.

The Smeraldo flower, known as the flower of legend, has been connected to BTS' methodology. The flower is featured as an idea/concept in the septet's music and videos. It appeared in Bangtan Universe (BU) and HYYH (Hwa Yong Yeon Hwa ) , also known as The Most Beautiful Moment in Life.

According to the Smeraldo blog (available on Naver), founded by the ARMYs before the release of the group's Love Yourself: HER album in 2017, the fictional Smeraldo flowers were discovered on June 12, 2013, in northern Italy. The florist Teste Husso started the Smeraldo blog and mentioned in its third story how he had discovered the fictional flower through one of his friends and stated:

"He notes that in 2013, a friend he met at the playing cards event five years prior called him to tell him someone had discovered Smeraldos in real life. He shares a screenshot of an Instagram post from June 12, 2013 (the date of BTS's debut). The Instagram user is "amare_0" and is supposedly a traveler who found the flowers growing in northern Italy." (as translated by the website The BTS Effect)

The theme of BTS Jimin's Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) revolved around confession

According to a press release shared by BigHit Music on January 28, 2024, through their official X account, the theme of BTS Jimin's Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) revolved around confession. The artist took a motif from the Bangtan Universe 's fictional flower, Smeraldo, which means 'the truth that could not be conveyed/told.' Jimin intended to convey his overwhelming love to the fandom ARMYs through his latest track, using the fictional flower Smeraldo. Bighit Music stated:

"The theme of the lyrics is 'confession.' Jimin drew inspiration from the fictional flower 'Smeraldo,' which symbolizes 'a sincere heart that couldn't be conveyed,' to complete sweet lyrics that confess love on behalf of those who cannot express their feelings. The sweet lyrics are a confession on behalf of those who cannot express their feelings, helping them find love."

The track Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) took inspiration from the English rock band Beatles' album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. During the production process of Jimin's debut solo studio album FACE , the idol worked with a team of writers.

He referred to the team as the Smeraldo Garden Marching Band and enjoyed their involvement in the creative process. Subsequently, with the help of his fictional team and inspiration from the rock band's album, the idol introduced his creation, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco), to the world.

The track blended the sound of a large orchestra with the hip-hop genre musicals and was based on a marching band that paraded. Meanwhile, the music video started with Jimin, Pdogg, Ghstloop, and Evan gathered as the fictional group, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band , and playing a jolly tune.

Jimin transformed into the leader and performed with fellow musicians, followed by Loco 's upbeat rap. The music video featured children, lovers, friends, and background dancers, radiating a lively atmosphere.

Jimin evoked the memories and stories associated with the fictional flower Smeraldo, which has been used by the group throughout their work. Smeraldo was connected with the track The Truth Unfold from the Love Yourself: TEAR album.

Even in one of the concept photos for the idol's upcoming album, MUSE , he holds the blue-colored Smeraldo flower, hinting at the message he wanted to convey to ARMYs. Additionally, fellow group member Jin shared a tweet on August 9, 2017, where he held a bouquet and captioned his post as, 'Smeraldo.'

Back when Jin shared the update regarding Smeraldo, the fandom dug deeper and found a blog titled Smeraldo Blog on Naver, which was created on July 4, 2017, and consisted of nine stories. The blog provided knowledge and background stories related to the Smeraldo Flower.

The stories featured on the blog left many clues related to the fictional flower and revealed its connection to the Bangtan Universe in the eight original stories. ARMYs concluded that Smeraldo Blog was created to support the group's album, Love Yourself: HER Comeback, in 2017.

BTS Jimin's upcoming second album, MUSE , is slated for release on July 19, 2024.

What is Smeraldo? Exploring the meaning behind BTS Jimin's new song

July 4th songs about America: Here's 8 from Neil to Miley to Chuck

With July Fourth upon us, here's a look at songs about the United States. A few are patriotic classics while others shed light on how some perceive America in the 21st century.

A collection by Spotify offers a thorough take on contemporary songs about this country as well. Our music-minded journalists across Florida share a few of their own.

This is not a comprehensive or "best of" list but covers various genres and eras.

'My Shot,' Lin-Manuel Miranda

The story of founding father Alexander Hamilton enjoyed a Broadway revival in the last decade.

“Hamilton: An American Musical,” from musical genius Lin-Manuel Miranda, features Miranda portraying Hamilton and singing “My Shot” that captures the spirit of freedom.

It includes lyrics like "I'm just like my country, I’m young, scrappy and hungry and I am not throwing away my shot.” And later, the lyric, “Rise up. When you’re living on your knees you rise up. Tell your brother that he’s gotta rise up. Tell your sister that she’s gotta rise up.” — Dave Osborn , Naples Daily News and The News-Press in Fort Myers

'Party in the U.S.A,' Miley Cyrus

One of the more fun songs about America, Miley Cyrus' 2009 hit "Party in the U.S.A."  is great for Fourth of July parties and barbecues because of it upbeat, fun vibe that makes people sing and even dance. — Dave Osborn , Naples Daily News and The News-Press in Fort Myers

'America,' Neil Diamond

This Neil Diamond song is perhaps more timely than ever. This 1981 hit focuses on how immigrants — many of them our ancestors — were "coming to America" for a fresh start "on the boats and on the planes."

A nice string intro sets the perfect mood for the song, followed by an uptempo beat that leads into Diamond singing, "Far, we've been traveling far, without a home, but not without a star."

"America" (also known as "Coming To America" and "They're Coming To America") for me encapsulates the more modern classic patriotic song. Crank it up this holiday and celebrate our freedoms and remember that, despite our differences, we're still a melting pot and our diversity is our strength. — Dave Osborn , Naples Daily News and The News-Press in Fort Myers

'This is America,' Childish Gambino

Consider this a modern-day version of Woody Guthrie's 1940s sarcastic hit "This Land if Your Land," hip-hop artist Childish Gambino (whose real name is Donald Glover) released "This Is America" in 2018.

The son resonates with an entire generation, becoming an anthem for the Black Lives Matter movement with lyrics confronting systemic racism, racial violence, law enforcement in the U.S., mass shootings and more.

The video for "This Is America" ― which depicts two graphically violent acts ― has more than 920 million views on YouTube.

"I think most people would recognize it as a video that protests police brutality," said Lori Brooks , Ph.D., an adjunct assistant professor with Barnard College at Columbia University, about the song during an "Inside Edition" video.

However, she said, the video allows Blacks "to express anger in a way that will be understood by the broader community and not caricatured or demeaned." — Dave Osborn , Naples Daily News and The News-Press in Fort Myers

'U.S. Blues,' the Grateful Dead

Wave that flag, wave it wide and high. The Grateful Dead were perhaps America's greatest counterculture bands and this is the Dead at their high-flying best, particularly on the live version of the song. ― Tom Szaroleta, The Florida Times-Union

'Red, White and Blue,' Lynyrd Skynyrd

This is a latter-day song from Lynyrd Skynyrd , released long after the band made a comeback from a devastating 1977 plane crash. "My hair's turnin' white, my neck's always been red, my collar's still blue" is a heartfelt statement aimed squarely at the band's fanbase. ― Tom Szaroleta, The Florida Times-Union

Southern rock to Miami sound: A look at Florida's most influential musicians

'Back in the U.S.A.’, Chuck Berry

You absolutely cannot salute American music without including at least one Chuck Berry song. This one, about an international traveler who just can’t wait to get home, fits the bill. “Did I miss the skyscrapers, did I miss the long freeway? From the coast of California to the shores of Delaware Bay. You can bet your life I did, till I got back to the U.S.A.” ― Tom Szaroleta/The Florida Times-Union

'Independence Day,' Martina McBride

Country star Martina McBride released "Independence Day" in 1994 and ever since became a mainstay this time of year.

With an upbeat tempo, the song builds until the dramatic chorus to "let freedom ring, let the white dove sing," and she sings near the end:

Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrongRoll the stone away, let the guilty payIt's Independence Day
