Is there an after market "4th row" seat option out there?

Not to be a smart ass....but where would you put it? Right up against the rear door? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif WBPSD  

I bet there is. I have a friend who has a Suburban and they added a 4th row that butts right up to the 3rd row. She does daycare and so put the seat belts in and can now sit 3 more kids in her SUV (they sit backwards). I'll have to give her a ring and see where she got that done.  

Much apprecaited!!!! I was thinking that a back to back arrangment with the third row would would work like Volovo station wagons. How did she lash it down?

I got one from these guys: http://www.littlepassengerseats.com/other.htm I got it in tan vinyl and it looks exactly like the stock seats. Pricey, but really well made. Now my kids love sitting in the "way, way back".

I know most likely little kids will be the ones riding back there, but the lack of headrests for all passengers isn't very intelligent IMHO. ...danny

By the by, the nice thing about the headrests on the Little Passengers seat is they double as headrests for the third row. When I look back from the driver's seat, you'd swear the third row seats were built in the modern age. No, have not changed the tire yet. Could go either way. If you've got a stock tire back there, you could probably leave the seat in. Four bolts hold it in and they are easy enough to put in and out.  

I have the Little Passenger Seat also. We have used this one for 3 years with absolutely no problems. I have matching upholstery, so the look is factory. I had a Ford salesman mention to me he didn't realize Ford had ever offered the 4th seat option! We mount ours forward facing. It leaves enough room for the children to walk around the right side to get in and enough leg room between them and the back of the 3rd seat. It has head rests on the 2 outside positions, 3 seat belts, including shoulder belts on the outside positions. This is actually my second Little Passenger Seat. I also have one in a Toyota 4Runner. They are custom built for each vehicle and very easy to install. Terry  

I never thought about putting it in forward facing. I'll try it sometime. I keep it rear facing because my kids like the wiper show and it allows for some storage when the seat is not in use.

Rear Captain's Seats Excursion

Was this ever an option for the Ford Excursion? I have been searching high and low for rear captains seats for my wife's Excursion but cant find them anywhere. Is this something that is a custom install or were they sold as a production option. Thanks in advance for any info.  

as far as i know it was an option.....a rare one at that  

I dont think its too rare. My dad for some unknown reason always wants an excursion, he is a truck guy and needs a truck for work. But whenever I see him he is always wasting countless hours on the internet looking at em. I would say %25 of them have 4 captains chairs. And they can be installed pretty easy. Might just need to drill a few extra holes.  

Yes. My parents had an 02 with captains seats 2nd row. I was going to swap my 2nd row bench seat for their captains chairs before he traded it in the other day. But it was too much work. Would have had to replace the carpet. The bench mounts completely different than the captains chairs.  

Was a Option, I have them in my 02 limited, i like the look of them. Like BIGKID says looks like some work would be involved going from bench to captains chairs.  

Lots of them came that with dual captains rows. If they dont bolt right up its an easy fix. Had a little single cab dodge pick-up in the 90's and got rid of the bench for two leather buckets out of a little sports car , new bolts , nuts , and some washers as shims to level them out and 200,000 miles of comfy , troubleless driving in them before i got rid of it.  

From what I can tell the holes are there from 01 and up. I have an 02 Limited that came with captains chairs. I recently bought a 60/40 bench from a local yard and am going to install it this weekend. From the looks of it pretty straight forward. I will post my results after the install. Not going to sell the captains chairs either....  

I have an 02 Limited and from what my dealer told me that the 2nd row captains in the limited model were more common than the 60/40. I found a 60/40 from a local yard and swapped it in over the weekend. Took about an hour. In 2002 models and up the bolt mounts and holes are already welded in on the frame. You can crawl underneath and see. It was very straightforward and easier than I thought.  

With what small pieces that I had to cut I used to fill the holes. If you are not looking for the holes you would not even notice. Going to keep the captains chairs to have to switch back and forth..  

I have 4 captains chairs in my f350-lol but seriously, all the nuts are there, you just have to drill through the floor in 4 places.  

So there are factory 7.3s with middle row captains chairs? What years was that available?

My 03 Limited has them, I think any year limited would have them.  

2000 limited with center 60/40 bench , , , , , but i'm willing to trade with someone for captains !!!

I don't set back there so I'll keep my second row bench. I think I'm in the minority has wanting the XLT without the DVD player, leather, or anything else that are in the nicer packages. Longest road trip so far has been 1100 mile round trip and my dad set (slept laying down) back there and said it was plenty comfortable. Another plus, with the third row folded up, there is a perfect spot to put a shotgun or rifle behind the second row bench seat.  

I am looking to buy a specific 03 eddie bauer with leather captains. I want to swap them for a bench for more seating. Id also do the same in the front row if I found the perfect bench for color, power, etc. Anyone know if it is feasible to put a bench in the front of an 03 excursion?

So diesel crawler you superduty bench seats will bolt into the first and second row of a 03 EX? I found some captains chairs in AR a few months back but guy wanted 700.00 for the pair and the colors didn't match my interior. Trying to figure out if a 05 superduty captian chair will bolt to my middle row 03 EX......

2003 Ford Excursion -11 Passenger!- Eddie Bauer Sport Utility 4-door 6.0l on 2040-cars

This is a private party sale of our 2003 4x4 6.0 Diesel, 11 Passenger Eddie Bauer Ford Excursion with 155,000 miles We recently had half of the injectors replaced and everything works perfectly. Has the factory tow package plus added trailer brakes with multi-port trailer connectors. Comes with an SCT tuner and installed chip. This allows you to boost mileage or performance depending on your application. We have used it to get better mileage (diesels are already better than gassers, but this brings it up even higher). We have only used the truck to tow a couple times, but the truck barely notices when a boat or trailer is attached, lots and lots of power. Has newer brakes and ball joints. Edmunds ranks the best used cars for 2013

When people ask us what car we would recommend for them, it's usually not easy to answer. To make a useful recommendation we must consider which of the numerous vehicle segments fits their needs best, and then choose one of the many vehicles offered in each segment. For some people, new cars don't meet their expectations of value, because they lose so much of it the moment they are purchased and driven off the dealer lot. For them, there's always the used-car market, where great deals can be found, but cars' histories of reliability and maintenance records - and perhaps that Certified Pre-Owned warranty - become ever-important factors playing into purchase choice. To help out, Edmunds has done us the favor of assembling a list of the best used vehicles money can buy, covering model years 2006-2011, according to what it considers the most important criteria when shopping for used autos: reliability, safety, value and availability. That means unreliable, unsafe, super-expensive or limited-edition models don't appear on the list, but instead cars from each segment that are more likely to satisfy the general population. There are some real goodies on the list, including but not limited to vehicles such as the capable Honda Fit, the cultish Honda Accord coupe (which can be had with a 240-horsepower V6 and a six-speed manual transmission some years), and the powerful Chevrolet Corvette. Chip Ganassi Racing switches to the Ford EcoBoost-powered Riley Daytona Prototype

Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) announced yesterday at Ford's SEMA press conference that it will field a Ford-Riley Daytona Prototype with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 in the 2014 United SportsCar Championship (USCC). CGRFS is the second team to commit to the new Ford-Riley car, behind Michael Shank Racing (which has already used the racecar to break a 26-year-old top-speed record at Daytona International Speedway). "Over the last 10 seasons we have been able to experience a great deal of success in Grand-Am," Chip Ganassi says, "and now with the dawn of the new United SportsCar Championship we feel that Ford power will be a key ingredient to writing the next chapter of our sports car program." In the last Grand-Am season, CGRFS raced a BMW-Riley Daytona Prototype. The team has won seven Daytona Prototype championships, all in the past ten years. Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas return as the team's prototype co-drivers, and will attend their maiden race in the Ford-Riley at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.

middle row seating

looking at a new expedition on a dealer's lot, it has bucket seats, we'd prefer a bench. Can a dealer field install the middle seat? On our current MY22 expedition it looks like it's a full self-contained unit.
