K.K. Slider performs in front of a large audience

New Animal Crossing: New Horizons players on Switch won’t be seeing K.K. Slider perform for a while.

Unless you’re time traveling , it’ll take more than a week of play to see him perform, if you’re making sure to do everything you can every day . Once unlocking the Resident Services building, Tom Nook will ask you to put down a campsite plot, as well as more housing plots.

After this, he’ll note that he’s a huge K.K. Slider fan and he wants the dog to perform on the island. Unfortunately, your island will very likely not be up to par with what Tom Nook wants to show K.K.

Your island will have to have 3 stars in order to invite K.K. You can check how far along you are by talking to Isabelle about island evaluations. She’ll give you some valuable advice, too. Pay attention to what she tells you to do, as adding what she recommends will improve your star rank.

She might recommend more fences, decorations, flowers, or trees. You can keep talking to her after adding decor to see if you need to add more or if you need to pivot to something else. Your star rank will improve upon talking to Isabelle instantly when you meet the requirements — there’s no need to wait another day.

Isabelle notes that Cherryton island has a three star ranking

Once you hit 3 stars, Tom Nook will interrupt your conversation with Isabelle in shock, saying he’s going to invite K.K. Slider immediately. K.K. will arrive the next day to put on a show, performing the game’s theme song, “Welcome Horizons.” After the show is over, you’ll get a copy of the song, as well as the ability to terraform your island .

After that, K.K. Slider will start appearing on every Saturday, sticking around in your town plaza. At 6 p.m. he’ll take requests if you ask him to perform specific K.K. songs or he’ll pick one to perform for you. The first song he plays will be in your inventory once he’s done singing. If you’re hosting people in your town during the show, you’ll get it in the mail the next day.

He’ll also show up on your birthday to perform “K.K. Birthday” for you, which you’ll also get a copy of.

For those who aren’t this far in the game, but want his music, don’t fret. A random K.K. Slider song can be bought every day from the Nook Stop’s Nook Shopping feature for 3,200 Bells.

With that, the “story” aspect of New Horizons is over and your island is free to change around in any way you want. The grind doesn’t end however, since there are long-term goals like Nook Mileage to complete and golden tools to earn .

Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Get KK Slider to Visit Your Island

Everyone's favorite musician will visit your island if he thinks it's good enough. Here's how to get KK Slider to visit.

KK Slider has been a big part of the Animal Crossing series since the very beginning. In Animal Crossing New Horizons , you'll need to build up your island to a certain level before he'll visit. In this guide we'll show you what you need to do to get KK Slider to visit, and what happens when he does.

How to Get KK Slider to Visit Your Island

How to increase your island star rating, kk slider concert.

Once you've built the full Resident Services building after the Nook Cranny installation (more on that here) and inviting three new people to your island, Tom Nook will set out plans for a KK Slider concert. To get KK Slider to visit you'll need to increase the population of your island and improve the scenery. You can read more about inviting new characters to your island here. Once you've invited someone new, Tom Nook will pass you over to Isabelle for the final part of the plan, which we'll explain below:

Once you're passed over to Isabelle for the final part of Project K, she will explain that in order to convince KK Slider to visit your island you will need to increase your star rating to three stars. To check your rating, speak to Isabelle and select 'Island Evaluations'. You'll likely be at one star when you first to speak to Isabelle, but don't worry, you can increase the rating by doing the following:

  • Invite more people to the island, either by using the campsite or heading off with Nook Miles Tickets.
  • Improve the scenery. This means bridges, inclines, outdoor items like lanterns, flowers, fencing and fountains. Just try to improve the overall image of the island.
  • Once you've invited more people, you'll get more specific feedback on how to proceed, from there it's just a case of doing what Isabelle describes.

The whole point of Project K is to put on a KK Slider concert. We won't spoil the specifics here, but if you follow the information detailed earlier in this page KK Slider will perform on your island. It'll take a while to improve your island rating to the point you'll need, but the event will do wonders for your island's image, so it's worth pursuing.

How to get K.K. Slider to perform in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

K.K. Slider is an integral part of Animal Crossing.  In previous renditions of the game, K.K. would show up once a week to perform on the players’ islands. But in Animal Crossing: New Horizons , you’ll need to make your island worth the visit.

In order to get a K.K. Slider show to happen on your island, you’ll need to raise the star rating to at least three. For newer players, this can prove tricky. It’s not entirely clear what Isabelle and K.K. are looking for. There are a few things to keep in mind when working to raise your island’s star rating, however. Read on for all the details.

How to get K.K. Slider to perform

K.K. Slider is a white guitar-playing dog who has a relaxed demeanor. He has been in every Animal Crossing game to date, and even appears ever so slightly in the background of New Horizons . The music in every villager’s house is a different K.K. Slider song. Additionally, players can purchase some of his records from the Nook Stop in the Resident Services building.

  • How to get Wild Greens in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
  • Lego’s Animal Crossing sets are every bit as adorable as the games
  • Where to get Hylian rice in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Because K.K. Slider is a traveler at heart, he’ll only show up on your island once a week to perform. There are a number of ways to encourage K.K. Slider to appear on your island. It takes a bit of work and patience, so be sure to take your time with this work. Unless you’re time traveling , it will take over a week of work just to get K.K. Slider to perform, so keep that in mind.

Once you’ve unlocked the Resident Services building, Tom Nook will ask that you lay down a campsite and more housing plots. At this point, you probably have paid off our Deserted Island Getaway Package with 5,000 Nook Miles, built Nook’s Cranny, built a bridge, furnished three houses for incoming villagers, upgraded the Resident Services to a building, and laid out a campground. Phew!

After completing all these tasks, Nook will tell you that he’s a huge K.K. Slider fan and that he wants K.K. Slider to perform on the island. However, the island will more than likely not be up to par with Tom Nook’s standards. He wants K.K. Slider to be impressed with your island, so he’ll ask you to do more work (for free). In order to get the adorable dog to visit your island, Nook will tell you that you have to get the island star rating up to at least three stars.

One of the most important parts in encouraging K.K. slider to appear is to talk to Isabelle. Isabelle keeps track of the star rating for your island. She will recommend more trees, flowers, fences, or decorations be added to the island to increase the star rating. What’s more, you won’t have to wait an entire day to get the rating updated. Every time you update or add something to your island, head over to Isabelle and she’ll either indicate whether you should add more of that item or shift focus to something different. The star rating will update automatically every time you speak with her. Just pay attention to what she tells you.

Additionally, be sure to remove any excess, random items on your island. If you’re someone who likes to just drop items everywhere, you’ll struggle to raise your star rating. Picking up extra stones and branches that are lying around will help keep your island clean and your star rating up. Additionally, previous iterations of the game would have players removing all of the weeds. However, in New Horizons , it seems that weeds don’t impact your star rating that strongly. Since the weeds change seasonally, some players enjoy having them there, so don’t feel pressured to pick up every last week on your island (unless, of course, Isabelle tells you otherwise).

Also, planting lots of flowers around your island will help improve your island’s star rating. Flowers will first be found on higher parts of the island, so you’ll need to dig these flowers up and move them throughout your island. Watering them will also help ensure that more show up, which can help increase your island’s star rating.

It’s also important to add furniture and decorations. These items can be DIY items, items purchased from Nook’s Cranny, or items from the Nook Stop. Large items and DIY recipes are especially helpful in making a statement about your island, and it’s the perfect way for your island to stand out. Get creative!

Once you get to the three-star rating, Tom Nook will interrupt your conversation with Isabelle. He’ll inform you that he’s going to invite K.K. Slider immediately. This means, the next day, he’ll put on a show. The first show is usually K.K. Slider performing “Welcome Horizons.” After the initial show, you’ll get a copy of the song and the ability to terraform your island, and K.K. Slider will start showing up every Saturday (or Sunday if there’s a tourney or event on Saturday).

K.K. Slider will start appearing on your island every weekend to perform right in front of the Resident Services building. At 6 p.m., he’ll start taking requests if you want K.K. to perform a particular song. The song he plays you will also appear in your inventory once it’s done. If you have other players on your island who partake in the show, they’ll receive the song in the mail the next day.

There are a few things that are worth noting about K.K. Slider’s songs. There are quite a few songs players can collect from the nomadic dog. There are actually 95 songs in total that players can get from K.K. Slider. This means that, for a long time, players can visit a K.K. Slider concert on the weekend and get a new song. However, there are three songs that K.K. will only perform if you request them. Those songs are Drivin’ , Animal City , and Farewell . K.K. Slider will only perform these songs if you type them in exactly as they’re titled, so be sure to spell check before confirming with him!

The songs K.K. Slider sings can be placed into your boomboxes or stereos across the island. If you want, it’s often fun to place a stereo outside and play one of your favorite K.K. Slider songs. By doing this, the adorable villagers across your island will actually start to sing that song rather than the tired song they were singing before. It’s a chance to switch up what the villagers sing, and it’s a nice change at that.

Although the credits roll every time K.K. Slider sings, it’s important to remember that the game isn’t really over. Players can continue to play and raise their star rating up to five. The main part of the story may be complete, but there are plenty of other things to take care of across your island!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a game for completionists, giving you tons of things to collect that can take up a lot of your time. In particular, bug catching can eat up lots of your time, especially since so many of them only appear during certain times of the year. Each month, different bugs come and go, even though the overall list might not change much from October to November, for example.

In this guide, we'll go through the new Animal Crossing: New Horizons November 2022 bug list, including tips on when they appear, where to find them, how much they're worth, and more.

One of the nifty features of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is its ever-changing seasons that are a reflection of the real world. When it's summer in real life, it's summer in Animal Crossing, meaning there are always new things to enjoy as you play. As each month goes by, the selection of fish that appear throughout the game changes, so you'll always want to be aware of the selection for any given month.

Sometimes, certain fish are only available for a few months out of the year, while others appear more frequently. It's also important to consider which hemisphere you're in, as this will impact the fish that appear in your area. For the month of November 2022, New Horizons has a lot of changes with its fish selection, and below, we'll cover everything you need to know about the new additions.

How to get KK Slider to visit your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Image of Aidan O'Brien

KK Slider, the guitar loving dog, can come to visit your island and play a concert for the residents in Animal Crossing: New Horizons . There a few steps you will need to go through to make it happen, however.

After you upgrade Resident Services from a tent to a proper building, go and speak with Tom Nook. He will say he has something he wants your help with. Sit down and ask what it is, and he’ll tell you that he wants to get KK Slider to come and visit.

For the gig to happen, you will need an audience, so you will need to get more visitors to arrive on your island. You will need to place a Campsite somewhere, and Tom Nook will give you what you need to set it up.

After you get the island set up for visitors, you will also need to work on  getting more residents . Tom Nook wants a big audience for this show that he has planned.

The third piece of the puzzle is to make your island look nice. Make sure there are lots of flowers, furniture, fences, and other stuff for your residents. Pull any weeds and tidy up any trees that are in the way. Speak with Isabelle whenever you need help with what to do next.

After that, it’s a waiting game. Stay working on your island and wait for the great KK Slider to decide it’s a nice spot to visit. He will contact Tom Nook when the time is right. Once he arrives the first time, he will fall in love with the island and visit every Saturday to put on a show.

Animal Crossing K.K. Slider Songs - Concert Guide And Complete K.K. Song List For New Horizons

Updated with 12 new K.K. Slider songs!

  • by Austin Voigt Mon 8th Nov 2021

For those who have been living under a rock since 2001, the infamous K.K. Slider — also known as Totakeke in Japan — is a beloved musical dog (a Jack Russell Terrier, to be exact) who has made appearances in every single entry of the Animal Crossing series to date, and he's back in Animal Crossing: New Horizons . No, you cannot pet him.

Although he's commonly shown playing acoustic guitar and singing, it's clear from his music catalogue that he is capable of crafting a tune in every single genre, on every single type of instrument, in the entire history of music. Also, we found out that he moonlights as a DJ in New Leaf . He is the original Renaissance dog.

Who is K.K. Slider?

Though many are familiar with his tunes, his origins are less widely known. It is said that his Japanese name - Totakeke - pays homage to video game composer and sound director Kazumi Totaka. In Japanese, last names generally come before first names - therefore, "Totaka K." became "Totakeke". K.K. Slider is said to be his in-game caricature.

In fact, back in the days before New Leaf's release, we even profiled Totaka and took an in-depth look at his impact on the series. It's very clear that he has formed an important part of Nintendo's history - not just with Animal Crossing, but across many of the company's major titles.

Getting back to his role in New Horizons, the first thing you'll need to do to meet this cat (er, dog) is get him to visit your island. While the process requires a few steps, it also unlocks the powerful Island Designer terraforming app, too. If you've got no idea what we're talking about, fear not - just follow our guide on how to unlock K.K. Slider and the Island Designer App .

How can you see K.K. Slider's concert performances?

Once you've reached a 3-star rating, and received a letter from K.K. Slider via Isabelle's island feedback, he'll visit your town the very next day and play his first concert.

After this, he'll be playing on your island every single Saturday (unless it conflicts with another event, like the Bug-Off or Fishing Tourneys - in which case, he'll show up on Sunday instead - except for one Sunday in August in the Northern Hemisphere when the combo of the August Bug-Off on Saturday and the fireworks show on Sunday will push his concert to Monday).

Each week when he visits your town to play, you'll be able to sit down and listen in to his practice songs throughout the day - however, beginning at 6pm, he'll begin playing his show for the island residents , and even taking song requests . Don't worry if you're not there right at 6 o'clock - you can show up any time prior to midnight and hear him play .

How do you unlock songs from K.K. Slider?

When his concerts begins, you have the ability to obtain some of K.K. Slider's music for your own home enjoyment. Go up and speak to him, and he'll give you the options to hear a random song , a song associated with a "mood" of your choice, or let you request a specific song .

After playing the song, K.K. will give you a copy , which you can then register on any of your furniture pieces that play music (besides radios). We like to keep a gramophone near our central plaza for residents to enjoy, but don't worry about splitting your record collection - a track can be added to any player in and around your town and it will be immediately accessible on all the others. It's in the cloud, man.

You can also display the music on your wall in your home (which we highly recommend - the album artwork is unmatched, except by the reimaginings of fans ).

Although you can continue requesting songs throughout the evening, you will only receive a copy of the first song you request - so choose wisely.

The only other time K.K. Slider himself will provide you with music to take home is on your birthday, when he'll gift you a copy of "K.K. Birthday".

The final way to obtain albums for your personal listening pleasure is to purchase them from the kiosk or your Nook Phone via Nook Shopping - which can be done before K.K. Slider ever visits your town. We highly recommend utilising your friends to complete your collection, and trading albums with others when you get the chance. You can never have enough K.K. Slider!

Music Boxes — How to Make Music Boxes from K.K. Slider Songs

One new element from update 2.0 is the ability to make music boxes from K.K.'s songs.

We'll update this guide with more information once we've worked out how it's done.

And there you have it — everything there is to know about Totakeke and his slammin' songs. Those industry fat cats try to put a price on his music, but it wants to be free. What's your favorite tune from our beloved canine composer? Let us know down below, man.

This article is part of our Animal Crossing: New Horizons walkthrough , which includes a Complete Fish List , Complete Bug List and Complete Sea Creatures List . Thank you for the list! Very informative. I love K.K. Aloha, a very nice song. I also wanted to mention, I noticed K.K. Mariachi was missing from the list! It's another song you buy from the app on your Nook phone.

  • flagloverNZ

Ah such a good list, I love the music in this game so much

Gonna turn this into a check list so I stop buying doubles!

@Archius9 You can check your catalogue of previously purchased music before you purchase the daily music selection.

You might be able to trade or sell doubles online though, for people wanting to complete a set.

@RupeeClock I get that, but that seems like more effort for some reason, even though it probably sin't. I also love a good check list.

@Archius9 It'd be nice if there were some sort of graphical indicator that lets you know you've already purchased something. I enjoy New Horizons, but it seems like there are a lot of minor oversights like this peppered throughout the game.

  • austin_voigt

@TheNookington Too true - thank you! Added

  • TryToBeHopeful

You can also do what I've done with a friend of mine, and dump your music on the ground and let them pick it up and drop it, and it will then be in their catalogue to buy at their leisure.

Without time-travelling I've got 44 tracks in my collection.

@TheNookington 'K.K. Mariachi' used to be called 'Señor K.K.' (so I think there's a duplicate on the list now.

so many songs left to go and i already used time traveling to get so many a day

@TryToBeHopeful Also noted!

@solcross : That's one of my main gripes with the game. It doesn't bother me with Nook Shopping or in-store items, but wallpapers and floors... ugh. I keep having to go back and forth between the cupboard and Nook Shopping, and I can only seem to (briefly) remember 2-3 at a time.

And I only buy them to fill my catalogue. The animals don't care for or use them, so I just sell them back to Timmy and Tommy (and keep the odd one for when I completely pay off my house).

There are some decent apps for tracking what you have, but yeah, I don’t disagree.

my villagers always sing the same song (unprompted, no radio) and i wish there was a way to know what it was without listening to every kk song :/

K.K. Slider will visit your island once you have a 3-star rating, and will visit again every Saturday.

Unlocking K.K. Slider Concerts

First k.k. slider concert, saturday k.k. slider concerts, sunday concerts, your birthday.

Before K.K. Slider will visit your island, you have to move in 10 residents, then talk to Isabelle in the Resident Services Building and ask her about Island Evals. You need your island to have a 3-Star rating before K.K. Slider will visit, so follow Isabelle's advice, and check with her about your current island eval.

The day after Isabelle tells you that you have a 3-Star rating, K.K. Slider will hold a concert at the plaza in front of the Resident Services Building, where he will play the song Welcome Horizons.

After K.K.'s first concert on your island, he will visit every Saturday, and you can request a song starting at 6PM. (See the list of K.K. Slider songs for a list of songs you can request.)

After his performance, the song will be in your inventory, unless you requested a song that he doesn't know.

If there is a special event on the plaza on a Saturday, K.K. Slider will visit on Sunday instead.

K.K. Slider will make a special appearance in your town plaza on your birthday, and will play K.K. Birthday for you.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons - How to Unlock KK Slider Concert

Unlocking the KK Slider concert in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will roll the credits and bring him back once a week to perform.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons doesn't really, "officially" have an ending. However, most people consider rolling the credits after unlocking the K.K. Slider concert as 'beating' the game. It does mark a major milestone and unlocks the ability to terraform, and ongoing K.K. Slider performances.

RELATED: Animal Crossing: New Horizons - How To Cook

But even if an endgame isn't really a goal for players, having K.K. over to perform a concert in the plaza is just a pleasant experience, and a fun way to spend a Saturday on one's virtual island. This guide will outline how to make that happen.

Updated January 5, 2023, by Stephen LaGioia: Many fans found themselves returning once again to their island paradises following the expansive 2.0 Update last year. The add-on brought a myriad of new items as features , along with more villagers, and as it happens — several new K.K. songs. This brings the playlist to well over 100 delightful tracks to chill out while partaking in the Saturday concerts. As such, this guide has been revisited and expanded with useful information regarding K.K. Slider's concert in Animal Crossing New Horizons .

About K.K. Slider

The Jack Russel Terrier known as K.K. Slider has been a mainstay of the Animal Crossing series dating back to the original . Following the 2.0 Update, this talented guitarist will now play 107 tracks for the player upon request during Saturday night concerts at the plaza.

The free-wheeling dog is also known as the acronym-heavy "DJ K.K." and likes playing original songs on his acoustic guitar when he travels about.

How To Unlock K.K. Slider Concert In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To get K.K. slider in AC:NH and have him play a concert at the town plaza (which rolls the credits), players must achieve a 3-star island rating . To check an island rating, the Resident Services tent must be upgraded to a building, and players must have achieved the following milestones:

  • Paid off the initial debt with 5,000 Nook Miles.
  • Construct Nook's Cranny.
  • Build the first bridge in Animal Crossing: New Horizons .
  • Build and place furniture for the three arriving Villagers.
  • Construct a campground.

RELATED: Animal Crossing: New Horizons - How to Enact an Ordinance

After completing these tasks, talk to Isabelle and choose the "Let’s talk island evals" dialogue option to see the current rating. There are two main steps to achieving a 3 Star island:

  • Have at least seven villagers living on the island.
  • Follow Isabelle's instructions on what to improve on the island.

How To Get More Villagers In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To get more villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons , players must first buy housing plots from Tom Nook in Residential Services. Each plot costs 10,000 Bells in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and an island can have a maximum of ten housing plots and villagers.

RELATED: How To Get New Villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To get seven villagers quickly, players can travel to other resource islands via Mystery Tour and invite any character they find to come live with them. They can also invite anybody who appears at their campground site by speaking to them. To speed up this process, players can time travel in Animal Crossing: New Horizons .

How To Get A 3-Star Island Rating In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To get a 3-star island rating in Animal Crossing: New Horizons , players must do the following (much of which Isabelle will recommend):

  • Keep the island tidy by picking up discarded items and ensuring there are no weeds.
  • Make sure there are plenty of flowers planted.
  • Build big projects like bridges and inclines.
  • Place fences.
  • Decorate with big items.
  • Watering plants
  • Avoid too much clutter with too many trees

Remember to ask Isabelle in Residential Services to evaluate the island, and take note of what needs to improve the most. Once players ask her for the evaluation and are given at least a 3-star island rating, K.K. Slider will come to the island that day and perform the New Horizons song for his first concert.

Once the first K.K. Slider concert in Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been unlocked, he will come back every Saturday to perform another. From 6 PM to 12 AM, players can have him play a song of his choosing. They can also request a specific song from this playlist by saying "gimme that one song," which will unlock that track for free. It will then be available to listen to on anything that plays music by way of an aircheck he gives.

If there's any special event that takes place in the plaza area on Saturday, K.K. Slider will delay his appearance and show up Sunday instead. If an event is taking place all weekend, he'll show up Monday.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now for Nintendo Switch.

KK Slider is everyone’s favorite travelling musician in Animal Crossing: New Horizons bringing music to all! We have a complete list of every K.K. Slider Song you can request, including some secret songs, and how to get them in this guide.

You can find K.K. Slider performing outside of Resident Services on your island every Saturday night (requests begin at 6PM) once you’ve unlocked the Island Designer tools.

While K.K. Slider can play any random song if you’d like, we recommend requesting a specific song using the ‘Gimme that one song’ option to help build your collection. For more details on how to get K.K. Slider songs, scroll to the bottom of this guide past the song list.

Complete List of All K.K. Slider Songs in New Horizons

The table below contains the complete list of all 95 K.K. Slider Songs you can collect from the man himself in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. If you are requesting a song to K.K. Slider for a performance, remember that song titles must be entered exactly as shown here to work!

As an added bonus, the list below is a fully featured interactive checklist with checkboxes that you can use to keep track of what K.K Slider Songs you own so far! The data will be saved to your browser and may be lost if you clear your browser data.

New Songs In Version 2.0: 12 brand new K.K. Slider songs have been added to his discography after the Version 2.0 Update for New Horizons! To filter by new songs, type ‘Version 2.0’ into the search filter bar.

Enter K.K. Slider Song Titles Exactly As Shown

Having trouble getting K.K. Slider to play the song you’re looking for? It’s important that you always make sure you’re entering the song title to him EXACTLY as we’ve shown on our list here — including exact spacing and any punctuation like periods!

As an example, ensure that you type in the proper “Go K.K. Rider!” instead of a more simpler “Go KK Rider” to get the right song. You should always look over what you’ve entered before pressing submit if you don’t want to make a mistake.

Secret, Special, and Error K.K. Slider Songs

In addition to the regular everyday K.K. Slider Songs that can be randomly played when you leave it up to him, request a mood, or purchase a song from Nook Shopping, there are a few extra special tracks out of the norm.

How To Get Three Secret K.K. Slider Songs

There are three different secret K.K. Slider Songs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that you can only hear and get an album by entering in their names with a request.

Just type out one of the following three Secret Songs listed below to K.K. Slider when asking for a special request using the ‘Gimme that one song’ option:

  • Animal City
  • Drivin’

Afterwards, you’ll get a copy of the track for use in your own music players, but only one can be obtained per week.

How To Get K.K. Birthday

The K.K. Birthday song cannot be requested at a concert or purchased at Nook Shopping normally. When your real life birthday comes, assuming you set up the date correctly with Timmy & Tommy, your very own personal K.K. Slider concert will be performed!

After the special birthday performance, K.K. Slider will give you the K.K. Birthday track for safekeeping.

Wild World Error Track (Unobtainable)

The Wild World song is an excellent track based on the theme song to Animal Crossing: Wild World on Nintendo DS, but unfortunately you can’t actually obtain this track as an aircheck since the item doesn’t exist.

Technically speaking, you can’t specifically request the Wild World song either as it is an error track, which are unique songs randomly played when you incorrectly enter a song name in a request to K.K. Slider. But since there are only a few different error tracks, there’s a good chance you’ll hear it anyway when requesting ‘Wild World’.

Welcome Horizons Track

The Welcome Horizons is a track that resembles the official title screen theme song for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. You’ll receive this track from K.K. Slider after the very first time he performs on your island.

If you’re reading this guide, it’s almost guaranteed that you already own this track. But if you happen to lose the Welcome Horizons song for any reason though, you can get another by requesting Welcome Horizons to K.K. Slider.

How to Get & Unlock New K.K. Slider Songs

There are two main different ways to obtain new K.K. Slider songs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Once you get a new song, you can register the track into a music player furniture item and play the song at any time!

Buy K.K. Slider Songs from Nook Shopping

Starting from your first full day on the island, you can begin purchasing K.K. Slider songs from the Nook Stop terminal inside of Resident Services. Just head into the Nook Shopping menu and select Special Goods to find a K.K. Slider song available for purchase at the bottom of the menu.

kk slider visit

Each day, a new random K.K. Slider song will be swapped in to your Specials Goods section of the Nook Shopping menu to buy! The song that appears here is unqiue for every player too, so you can trade with others easily using the Order As Gift function!

Bonus: If you’ve purchased enough items from Nook Shopping, you can unlock a special app on your NookPhone allowing you to purchase new songs from anywhere!

Request Songs from K.K. Slider on Saturday Nights

After you’ve completed the ‘Project K’ dream of Tom Nook’s and K.K. Slider has preformed his first concert on your island, he will start appearing on your island as a visitor!

Every week on Saturday, you can find K.K. Slider hanging out with his guitar playing tunes in front of the Resident Services building. However, it’s not until later in the evening that you’ll be able to start requesting songs.

Note that on Saturdays when there is another notable event happening outside of Resident Services, such as the Fishing Tourney or Bug-Off , K.K. Slider will instead appear on the Friday before.

kk slider visit

Beginning at 6PM local time on your island, K.K. Slider will begin to accept requests for concert performances with yourself and any friends you might have with you! You can choose between a random song, a random song according to a mood, or a requested song of your own choice.

After K.K. Slider has played your first requested song for the day, he’ll kindly provide you with your very own version of the song to put in a music player! If you have friends over on your island, he’ll mail it to you the next day.

kk slider visit

Unfortunately, you can only get one K.K. Slider song per week by using this method, so choose wisely what you request! And make sure to catch him before he leaves after midnight local time.

Animal Crossing: Full K.K. Slider Song List And Every Secret K.K. Song In New Horizons

Here's the full list of K.K. Slider songs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, including all the secret songs that K.K. only plays by request.

By Kevin Knezevic on May 1, 2021 at 10:15AM PDT

After you've completed Project K in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and convinced K.K. Slider to visit your island , the wandering musician will return every Saturday (or Sunday, if there's an event happening in your town's plaza the previous day) to hold a concert. You'll see K.K. camped out in front of your Resident Services building the entire day, but he'll only play songs between 6 PM and midnight , so you'll need to speak to him between those hours to watch him perform.

As in previous Animal Crossing games, you can either let K.K. play a random song or request to hear a specific tune, and he'll give you a record of the first song he performs that night to take home. While you can purchase most of these songs through the Nook Shopping terminal, there are a handful of "secret" songs that K.K. will only play by request, so if you want to get your hands on those records, you'll need to specifically request them.

Now Playing: Mythbusting In Animal Crossing: New Horizons - What's Real And What's Not

Below, we've rounded up the full list of K.K. Slider songs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The secret songs that K.K. only plays by request are denoted in bold. Keep in mind that you'll need to type each song title out as it is written below (meaning you need to have the exact punctuation and capitalization) when requesting the songs; if you spell the title incorrectly, K.K. will instead play a backup song (which you can't take home as a record) and say he didn't understand your request.

If you have friends visiting your island while K.K. is around, you can all watch him perform together. To do so, every player will need to be seated before the player who requests the song sits down; if you sit too late, you'll miss out on the performance.

We have a ton of other guides to help you out in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, including a turnips guide with tips on how to play the stalk market, as well as a deserted island guide detailing all the Mystery Tours you can embark on. Appearance [ ]

Though K.K. Slider's breed has never been officially revealed, but he appears to be a white labrador, or possibly a jack russell terrier. He has thick, black eyebrows that are nearly shaped like semicircles. He has simple, half-closed black eyes and a shiny black nose. It is also seen that he has teeth that can be shown at times when he’s singing. He wears no clothes in nearly all his appearances. In New Leaf , however, he wears a black cap, headphones, and black glasses when performing as DJ K.K. . In Happy Home Designer , he will don a blue and white striped beatnik-style shirt, a black newsboy cap, and black glasses as his casual wear.

Personality [ ]

K.K. Slider is a hippie-style traveling musician, which is reflected in his mellow speech towards the player. He comes across as someone who wants to be liberated, as shown by his rebellion against putting a price on his songs. This adds to the musician stereotype of going against a particular norm. Despite that, his songs are for sale in New Leaf for 3,200 (3,600 with the Bell Boom Town Ordinance ) bells when the player upgrades to T.I.Y. or T&T Emporium .

K.K. has an obvious passion for performing for others, as he offers to play for people on a weekly basis. In Wild World , he seems to know Brewster fairly well.

In Animal Forest and Animal Crossing [ ]

In Animal Forest and Animal Crossing , K.K. Slider is seen sitting on the stool close to the Train Station found from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM on Saturday. He still has the same role, to request or ask a song or for him to choose. He is also seen when the games are started and booted up. As he plays his song, the credits will roll as the camera slowly moves around the player and K.K. Each 'rain' for the seasons (cherry blossoms, rain, snow, etc) will fall in order as the song plays.

  • If the player requests a song that is not one of his (or is misspelled), he will play a random song, then tell the player that the song they requested "wasn't one of his".
  • If the player requests one of his songs or lets him choose, he will give them a copy of it to play at their home.

K.K. has 3 "secret" songs in Animal Crossing : I Love You , Two Days Ago , and K.K. Song . When requested, he will act surprised that the player knows it. In Animal Forest e+ , these songs are no longer secret and the new secret songs are My Place , Forest Life , and To the Edge .

In Wild World [ ]

In Wild World , K.K. now plays his music at The Roost on Saturday evenings, from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The player may request a song, otherwise K.K. will sing a randomly selected song. After the performance, the player receives a free copy of the song that was played. The copy of the song can then be deposited and used in any stereo in the player 's house. He is also involved in the Golden Axe Trading Event , where he trades the player his picture when given the country guitar (which is received from Wendell ).

In City Folk [ ]

“ Hey, man. Who hipped you to that tune, June? Stale Cupcakes is one of my secret numbers. ” ― K.K. Slider, when requested to play Stale Cupcakes , City Folk K.K. has a similar role in City Folk as he does in previous games. Now, he gives encores of his music. However, the encores are not added to the dock of the player . As in Wild World , he is seen in The Roost on Saturday nights, from 8:00 PM. to midnight. If the player decides to request a song, they are required to type it in. The player can also choose a song by mood or let him pick a random song. The game credits play while he plays a song.

In New Leaf [ ]

DJ K.K

K.K. Slider as D.J. K.K. part-time in New Leaf

In New Leaf , K.K. appears on stage on Saturday nights after 8:00 pm inside Club LOL , owned by Dr. Shrunk . From Sunday to Friday, he takes on the guise of DJ K.K., performing a variety of different songs based on themes. On the first performance as K.K. Slider, he will randomly pick one of the new songs introduced in New Leaf . Afterwards, the player is allowed to request a song by specific title or mood. Players will get the first song he plays, but not the rest, unless they do not have enough space in their pockets, in which case the player will receive a song as soon as they have made space in their pockets and requested another song. And on the player's birthday or the Saturday before their birthday, if they request K.K. Birthday , K.K. Slider will play it for them. If the player requests K.K. Birthday any other time, he will not play it for them. The credits play as he plays a song.

His songs now come with unique album covers. These album covers now make it possible to hang copies of his songs on the walls.

K.K. Slider's Pic is obtainable. If the player listens to a K.K. show for 20 weeks consecutively, the picture is received in the mail.

In amiibo Festival [ ]

K.K Slider is a playable character in amiibo Festival , available when the K.K Slider amiibo is scanned on the Wii U. Sometimes when the player playing as K.K Slider lands on an event square in the Amiibo Festival Board Game mode, a random event specifically related to K.K Slider may appear.

K.K. has 6 unlockable costumes for the game, unlocked through leveling up the K.K. Slider amiibo:

  • Carrying guitar case (Level 1)
  • DJ KK (Level 2)
  • Dark blue and white-striped sweatshirt (Level 3)
  • Blue shirt with black pants (Level 4)
  • Gray formalwear (Level 5)
  • Conductor suit (Level 6)

In Pocket Camp [ ]

K.K. Slider briefly appears when the player first enters the game, introducing himself and telling the player a little bit about the game. He is obtainable as a special character in the player's Campsite, by purchasing K.K. Slider's chair for leaf tickets. The player can do the same thing with other special characters, like Kicks and Tom Nook, for example.

In Dōbutsu no Mori [ ]

K.K

K.K. Slider has a minor role in Gekijōban Dōbutsu no Mori . Margie requests that he should play K.K. Bossa . He was voiced by Shun Oguri .

In New Horizons [ ]

In New Horizons , K.K. briefly shows up at the beginning of the game to talk to the player about setting out on their own and that the game will operate under real-life time.

After the player has established an upgraded Resident Services building, Tom Nook gives the player a goal of improving the island in order to convince K.K. to play a concert there. Once the required 3 star island rating is met, K.K. will arrive the next day to play a concert. After that, he will usually show up every Saturday and play a concert in the evening from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM, but sometimes he will turn up on Sundays, Mondays, and the occasional Tuesday. The player can request a song for him to play. Like in previous games, the player will receive an aircheck copy of the first song he plays, and the credits play during requested songs. If there is any event that takes place in the plaza on a Saturday, K.K. Slider will show up on Sunday instead, or Monday if two separate events are held on both weekends back-to-back such as the Bug-Off and Fireworks Show . On extremely rare occasions, he arrives on Tuesdays if there has been a strange event period in which three events have occurred consecutively.

In the 2.0 update, 12 new songs were added, which K.K. calls "new jams." If the player lets K.K. choose, he will most likely play a new jam if he hasn't played that song in the past already. During K.K. performances in 2.0, all villagers attending the performance will get out a light stick and jam. The player can hold a light stick during the performance and they can raise it, and if they do, all other villagers will raise their light sticks as well. At the end of the performance, everyone claps for K.K., and then the villagers put away their light sticks and take a seat.

K.K. Slider will also show up on resident birthdays.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee [ ]

K.K. Slider makes a cameo in Super Smash Bros. Melee appearing as a trophy as well as being one of the special characters and appearing in a screenshot in the stages.

Trophy Information [ ]

"A wandering musician whose daily life is a bit of a mystery. He plays in front of the train station every Saturday night starting at 8:00 PM. He has a large repertoire and plays old and new hits from all over the world. His music is so ingrained in the villagers that it's impossible to imagine them living without it."

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl [ ]

K.K. Slider makes again a cameo in Super Smash Bros. Brawl appearing as a trophy as well as being one of the special characters and appearing in a screenshot in the stages. On the Stage "Smashville", K.K. Slider has a performance every Saturday from 8:00 PM until midnight. Normally the other background characters on Smashville pay attention and react to the fight, but when K.K. is performing, their attention is focused solely on him.

The K.K. Slider trophy in Brawl

"A wandering musician. He plays concerts every Saturday night at the Roost in the basement of the museum. All he carries is a single acoustic guitar, but he can play music from all genres. You can request a single tune per concert, and afterward he will give you a recording of the song to take home. In Wild World , his playlist included 70 songs."

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U [ ]

K.K. Slider once again appears on the stage "Smashville" performing his Saturday concerts from 8:00 PM until midnight, but he also performs on the stage "Town and City" on Saturdays at the same times.

In Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe [ ]

K.K., along with other characters, appears in Mario Kart 8 in the Animal Crossing race course of the Crossing Cup, included with the Animal Crossing × Mario Kart 8 downloadable content package. He sits in different predetermined spots on the course depending on the season; in addition, he performs a song when the player drives close to him, each corresponding with a specific mood:

  • In the spring season he will be across from the museum, and will perform Bubblegum K.K. ("good" mood);
  • In the summer season he will be poised atop a cliff adjacent to the beach, and will perform Go K.K. Rider ("grumpy" mood);
  • In the autumn season he will be sitting right near the starting lines, and will perform K.K. Bossa ("lazy" mood);
  • In the winter season he will be sitting on the steps to Brewster 's The Roost , and will perform Stale Cupcakes ("a little sad" mood).

He also appears in the Switch version of the game, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe , this time included in the base game instead of with paid DLC.

In the Splatoon 2 - Live Concert at Nintendo Live 2019 - Nintendo Switch [ ]

At the beginning of the show, K.K Slider appeared and played a brief moment of Splattack! from Splatoon and then talked to the audience:

"Hey there, cool cats and kittens. The name's K.K. Slider."

"Welcome to Nintendo Live 2019."

"I hear there's a hot set coming up soon. It's a real scorcher."

"Live jams make for a real keen scene. Nothing beats a whole crowd getting down together."

"Oh, they're telling me I've gotta fill a little more time..."

"Want me to jam for you?"

"Cool. Settle back and dig this groove."

He then played the main theme of New Horizons , (Known as Welcome Horizons ) and then faded out while singing Splattack! instead of the instrumental in the intro. [1]

Monopoly [ ]

NintendoMonopolyBoard-Zoom

K.K Slider also appears in the 2010 Nintendo Collector's Edition of Monopoly with Tom Nook and Rosie in the light blue grids. He is worth 100 US dollars on the game board, the same as that of Rosie, and is the lower amounts of the Animal Crossing characters that appear in the game.

At Tokyo Nintendo Live 2022 [ ]

On October 9, 2022, K.K. appeared as his alter ego, DJ KK. At the very start, Isabelle made a short opening speech to introduce DJ KK to the stage. After that, DJ KK performed for half the video, and the Splatoon band Deep Cut performed for the other half. In the Animal Crossing half, several villagers came on and danced, such as Marshal , Poppy , Chrissy , Francine , Raymond , and Katt , and lots of special characters as well, such as Isabelle, Lottie , Blathers , Tom Nook , Timmy and Tommy , Niko , Gulliver , Wardell , Daisy Mae , C.J. , Flick , and Kapp'n . Throughout the concert, the members of the audience waved their colorful glowsticks, just like how in New Horizons , the player can wave their own glowstick during K.K.'s in-universe performances. DJ KK sang a remix of Welcome Horizons at the start of the show, and then again at the end. [2]

  • K.K. is also based on {{w|Nipper}}, a dog from Bristol, England, who served as the model for an 1898 painting by Francis Barraud titled His Master's Voice, later associated with RCA Victor, HMV, Electrola and JVC.
  • One of K.K. Slider's songs is actually a song called Totaka's Song, made by the Animal Crossing sound designer. The song appears in a lot of games he has worked on. In the Animal Crossing games, Totaka's song is referred to as K.K. Song .
  • In Animal Crossing , K.K. says his name is "Totakeke", but prefers to just be known as K.K. Slider. However, he has not mentioned this in subsequent English releases.
  • This moment is alluded to in New Horizons , during which K.K. first appears to the player in a dream after their first day on the island.
  • In Animal Crossing , K.K. will appear in a spotlighted room if a memory card has not been inserted or if the game's clock needs to be reset.
  • One of K.K.'s quotes from Wild World - "Those industry fat cats try to put a price on my music, but it wants to be free." - gained notoriety on various news websites, as it was believed to promote illegal file sharing. In response, Nintendo of America's vice president of corporate affairs at the time, Perrin Kaplan, stated that K.K.'s quote does not reflect the views of the company, only that he is "a free spirit who cannot be bought and sold for any amount of money." Aka he’s not a sellout.
  • In City Folk , some cranky villagers believe that his day job is Phineas , handing out prizes at the City.*
  • For example, if (through hacking), his model were set in the place of a character that walks upright, one of his legs would be permanently bent, and one of his arms would be disproportionately long.
  • This is because his model is designed assuming K.K. will never appear anywhere else other than in The Roost on Saturday nights. His model is designed to appear correctly when he is on the stool and holding his guitar, but not when walking upright.
  • When talking to a player, he will change his rhymes and phrases depending on the gender (for example: to a boy, "My ax is hot to play, so cop a seat, Pete." to a girl, " My axe is hot to play, so cop a chair, Claire."). Pete and Claire are the names of two of the male and female protagonists from Harvest Moon , a life simulation video game series that is sometimes compared to Animal Crossing .
  • In New Horizons , two stickers can be seen on the back of K.K.'s guitar that feature drawings of Brewster and Dr. Shrunk , likely referencing The Roost and Club LOL, the venues K.K. performed at in previous games. These stickers can only be seen when listening to K.K. live as the camera rotates around him; however, they can be seen more clearly on the textures for K.K.'s guitar.
  • If his birthday falls on a Saturday, it is the fourth Saturday of August and as such, it overlaps with the Bug-Off . Due to the Fireworks Show taking place every Sunday in August, he only shows up on Monday.
  • If his birthday falls on a Sunday, he also only shows up on Monday due to the Bug-Off and Fireworks Show.
  • If his birthday falls on a Monday, the previous Saturday is the 21st, which is only the third Saturday of August. As such, there is no Bug-Off which would cause K.K.'s arrival to be postponed, and he already shows up on Saturday.
  • Out of all the animals in the game, he is the only animal to not wear clothing.
  • In New Leaf he has the voice of a lazy villager.
  • In New Horizons he has the voice of a smug villager.
  • He appears alongside Rosie and Tom Nook in the 2010 Nintendo Collector's Edition of Monopoly .
  • According to the K.K. Slider amiibo page, near the end of the info passage, it reveals that Isabelle has a crush on him, and joking by giving a 'Nobody could blame her, right?' type at the end of the passage.
  • K.K Slider shares his birthday with Nana . They both have a birthday on August 23 rd .
  • In a character popularity poll for Animal Crossing held by Nintendo in Japan, K.K. Slider ranked 1st with 3,112 votes.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons – What to do After K.K. Slider Visits

Image of Kyle Hanson

We’re coming up on the end of everyone’s first month in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. If you’ve been playing every day like myself then you should either be close or already past the point where K.K. Slider comes to visit your town. This feels like the end goal of the game in a lot of ways, with the credits rolling as K.K. plays his best song yet. But after the credits end the game continues, without giving you much direction for where to go from here. To help out, here’s what to do after K.K. Slider visits in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

What to do After K.K. Slider Visits

Just in case you got here by mistake, here’s how to raise your island rating which is the trigger for getting K.K. Slider to come play on your island. Once you hit that magical three star rating K.K. Slider will arrive the very next day, playing an epic concert that cements your island as the new hot place for people to visit and live on. This signals a sort of endgame scenario, as you’ve completed the main goal provided to you upon arriving on the deserted island you now call home. But of course, you’re not going to be done playing any time soon. Here’s a few things you’ll definitely want to do after K.K. Slider visits.

First off, terraforming will now be unlocked. Head over to the Nook Stop to unlock all the facets of this new mechanic. This was touted as a major component of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons experience, and indeed it transforms how you approach pretty much every task from here on out. You can now manipulate the land and water that shapes your island, meaning almost anything is possible.

Beyond that the rest is pretty muchup to you. I’d take this time to start looking at the turnip market as a way to gain extra Bells. You’ll need them to make the larger transformations you might have in mind, such as building bridges . You’ll also want to make sure you hit up all the mysterious islands you can, and collect the valuable resources they contain. Just buy Nook Miles Tickets to do so, but you’ll need a lot of Nook Miles to buy them all. Focus on completing these achievements while you reshape your island using your newfound abilities.

The biggest thing you’ll find yourself doing now that K.K. Slider has come to town is growing your collection of items and clothing. Be sure to visit Nook’s (and try to get it upgraded ASAP) and Able’s clothing shop, once you unlock it. Their inventory changes every day so hit it up often and buy anything you might want to use in the future. Upgrading your house is also a main focus, so put those Bells to use and get it growing.

The short answer to what to do after K.K. Slider visits in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is whatever you want. That’s the whole idea. But hopefully these tips have given you some ideas for where to go and what to do with your island now that you have so much free time.

Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Unlock KK Slider and All Songs

Looking for KK Slider? Here's how to unlock him and his music.

Published: 03 Nov 2021 12:01 PM +00:00 Updated: 03 Nov 2021 12:01 PM +00:00

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons , KK Slider returns to share more of his music with your island. Throughout all games in the series, KK Slider has been a growing musician, and in New Horizons this is no different. Apart from the fact that he is now seen as an international superstar rather than the musical dog of humble beginnings who used to perform in Brewster's café.

In this guide, we've explained how to unlock KK Slider, get new music for your collection and all the songs he has available in New Horizons.

A player applauding KK Slider at the Town Hall's Plaza in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

In order to unlock the famous KK Slider and have him visit your island, you need to build a reputation for yourself. First and foremost, you need to have constructed all buildings on your island — Nooks Cranny, Able Sisters, the Campsite, the Museum, and the Resident Services building — and have multiple villagers living there.

After this, you'll need to work on the rating of your island for KK Slider's attention to be caught. Once your island reaches three out of five stars, Isabelle will inform you of some feedback from the musician himself. Sure enough, he'll visit your island the next day and perform a concert for everyone! After this, KK Slider will visit your island every Saturday from 6PM to perform.

For more help on getting your island's rating up, we have a handy guide on how to achieve the perfect island here .

Collecting all of KK Sliders tracks is no easy task. Once you have a new song in your inventory, you will need to go to the nearest music player and register it, as shown above.

There are two ways for players to unlock new songs to add to their catalogue, which we have explained below:

Nook Shopping

Every day, you can visit the Nook Stop in the Resident Services building. Access Nook Shopping and scroll all the way to the bottom of the 'Special Goods' section to purchase a new KK Slider song! Once purchased, the track will arrive in your mail the next day.

Attending Concerts

KK Slider will visit your island every Saturday evening from 6PM. If there is a Saturday event on, such as the Bug Off or Fishing Tourney , he will visit the Friday before instead.

By speaking with KK Slider, you can request a random song, a song based on your mood, or a song of your choice. Once he has played the song, he will kindly gift you your own copy of it and place it in your inventory, provided you don't already own it.

While you can ask KK Slider to play multiple songs during his visit, he will only gift you one per week. If you don't know what to request, we have listed all of KK Slider's song titles below!

For those of you looking to collect every song that the superstar has to offer, we've listed all of his available songs below in alphabetical order, including the 12 new songs introduced as a part of Version 2.0 !

Artwork of K.K. Slider

Totakeke , often referred to by his stage name K.K. Slider or K.K. , is a dog who has appeared in all the Animal Crossing series games to date. His main role is to play and sing songs for the player . He makes a cameo appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and in 🎬 Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori . He was also one of the three Animal Crossing characters to be a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee , the others being Mr. Resetti and Tom Nook .

He is based on Animal Crossing sound designer Kazumi Totaka . K.K. is a caricature of Totaka himself, while his Japanese name Totakeke is taken from Totaka's nickname. It is derived from the Japanese tradition that last names be written first, i.e. Totaka Kazumi . This can be shortened to "Totaka K.", which sounds like "Totakeke." When introducing himself to the player in the original Animal Crossing , K.K. Slider states his true name literally is "Totakeke," suggesting "K.K. Slider" is a stage name . This formal moniker has not been mentioned in any subsequent English releases.

There are 55 K.K. Slider songs in the original Animal Crossing , 70 songs in Wild World , 75 in City Folk , 91 in New Leaf , 95 in New Horizons 's base game and a total of 107 as of the 2.0 update. A list of these songs can be found here .

Characteristics [ edit ]

Appearance [ edit ].

kk slider visit

K.K. Slider is a white-furred dog with thick, black eyebrows complementing his black, dot-like eyes and solid black nose. He appears to be a Jack Russell Terrier . Due to being a special character, K.K. Slider's appearance greatly deviates from dog villagers , as his head has a more defined muzzle with slightly smaller ears, and he also has defined paws on his hands and feet. Unlike other characters, K.K. does not wear any clothing, but has begun wearing different types of clothing occasionally starting from Animal Crossing: New Leaf . He is often seen carrying his guitar.

Personality [ edit ]

K.K. Slider is a laid-back musician, reflected by his relaxed state. He speaks in a mellow, calm tone sounding similar to that of a smug villager, using words such as "man," "far out," and "groovy" in his speech often. Being passionate about his craft, money is no concern to him; he states that, although numerous "industry fat cats" try to capitalize on his music, he only desires for it to be free for everyone. Because of this, he gives away free recordings to anyone willing to listen to his songs. While K.K. Slider's songs are able to be purchased starting in New Leaf , he states in Happy Home Designer that he donates his earnings to "the kids," as he prefers to make Bells through more typical means, such as fishing .

Appearances [ edit ]

In animal crossing [ edit ].

kk slider visit

In the first-generation Animal Crossing games, K.K. Slider starts the game up for the first player before they move in. [nb 1] In Doubutsu no Mori only, he will also appear if the internal clock in the cartridge has stopped working. Every Saturday night from 8 PM to 12 AM, he can be found sitting on a wooden stool outside the train station . If spoken to, he will introduce himself to the player, and ask if they want to hear any songs from him. The player can then request a specific song, give him their mood, or allow him to decide for them. Certain songs are secret and can only be obtained upon request. If the player requests a song that K.K. doesn't know, he will play a random, unobtainable song, and afterwards tell the player that the requested song was "not his bag."

While playing, the background will turn black to show only K.K. and the player, which will slowly spin around as the credits play. Periodically, various weather effects will also be shown, such as snow, falling leaves, and rain. When K.K. sings, he speaks in Animalese , using the phonemes "nah," "me," "oh," "now," and "queh." In some songs, he will howl, whistle, click, and hum, altogether to make the song. Once the song is completed, he gives the player a bootleg copy to take home and play in their stereo . This action opposes the industry practice of putting a price on music.

In Doubutsu no Mori e+ , twelve new songs have been added to K.K.'s repertoire and are available only via e-Reader cards . Vocal performances that can be played in a stereo are also obtainable as gifts from villagers with high friendship or certain special characters .

In Wild World [ edit ]

kk slider visit

In Animal Crossing: Wild World , K.K. Slider still sings and plays for listeners, performing at the same time (every Saturday from 8 PM to 12 AM) as he did in the previous games, but now he plays them at The Roost , on top of a stage located in the café's upper left corner. The player can request a specific song or let him play a random song. Whether the song was random or requested, he slips a free bootleg of the song into the player's pockets after the performance, as before. Compared to previous entries in the series, several new songs have been added (most of which were previously in e+ ). In the golden axe trading event , giving him a country guitar will allow the player to obtain his picture . K.K. does not perform during multiplayer sessions, so if the gates are open, he will not appear until they are closed.

In City Folk [ edit ]

kk slider visit

In Animal Crossing: City Folk , K.K. Slider has the same role as in Wild World , performing at The Roost starting at 8 PM to midnight, and some new songs have been added. He also now gives encores. The player can tell him exactly what song they want to hear, or let him pick. Another way to choose a song is to tell him a mood, and he will pick something out based on it. However, the player will not receive a bootleg copy of the encore. The multiplayer issue from Wild World is fixed; he appears during multiplayer from this game onward. Cranky villagers will sometimes mention that they think that Phineas is K.K.'s day job.

In New Leaf [ edit ]

kk slider visit

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf , K.K. Slider once again makes an appearance, but this time in a new, separate building called Club LOL . As in previous games, on Saturday nights from 8 PM to midnight, he will play songs by requests, mood, or randomly, depending on what the player wants. Attending 20 of his acoustic performances in New Leaf will have K.K. Slider give the player his picture. Starting in this game, K.K. Slider's songs can be bought from T.I.Y. , T&T Emporium , or the catalog for 3,200 Bells each.

On the Saturday before a player's birthday (or on the actual day, if it falls on a Saturday), K.K. will perform a special song titled " K.K. Birthday ." This is the only song that cannot be requested.

In New Horizons [ edit ]

kk slider visit

K.K. Slider returns in Animal Crossing: New Horizons , initially appearing in a dream experienced by the player on their first night on the island. In the dream, K.K. gives a similar speech to the player at the beginning of the first game in the series about moving away and starting a new life. In a change from previous games, K.K. Slider is not seen again after this point until the conclusion of the game's prologue. The only way to acquire his music in the interim is to purchase them from the Nook Shopping catalog, of which there is always one available song per day. His music can also be heard on the player's radio.

After the player invites their first campsite visitor to move to the island, Tom Nook will brief the player about "Project K": a plan to make the island so desirable that even a celebrity such as K.K. would want to visit. To make this happen, he instructs the player to improve the island's condition and to check in periodically with Isabelle . She will inform the player of their island's rating and read out feedback they have received from residents and visitors. If the island has a rating of at least 3 stars, K.K. Slider will leave positive feedback, exciting both Isabelle and Tom Nook and prompting the latter to contact K.K. Slider about performing a concert on the island. On the next non- event day, K.K. Slider will visit, and right after Isabelle's announcements, he will perform " Welcome Horizons " with the entire island in attendance.

The performance itself hearkens back to the original game, taking place in an empty void where various seasonal effects (cherry blossoms, rain, falling leaves, snow, and a meteor shower) occur in the background. Afterwards, K.K. will thank his audience, and the game's main story will be concluded as the player receives the Island Designer app.

Following this initial visit, K.K. Slider will visit every Saturday as usual. If an event is due to take place in the plaza on a Saturday, K.K. will instead visit on the following Sunday (prior to version 1.3.0 he would attend on the preceding Friday). If another event occurs on the following Sunday (for example, a Bug-Off on Saturday followed by a Fireworks Show on Sunday), K.K. will instead visit on the following Monday. He will spend the day practicing in the Resident Services plaza but will not accept requests until after 6 PM. K.K. accepts requests from 6 PM to midnight. Villagers may occasionally sit down to watch him practice or perform, and any villagers present during the performance will appear in the cutscene when it fades the background to black. As before, K.K. will appear to sing a special song for the player's birthday, but unlike previous games, he will appear on the player's actual birthday no matter what day of the week it is. If the player's birthday clashes with an event that takes place on the plaza such as Turkey Day though, K.K. will appear on the day after the event.

From 2.0 onward, it is possible to clap during K.K. Slider's concerts by pressing A, and the villagers watching the performance will clap in unison with the player. Holding a light stick or a colorful light stick during his concerts will allow a player to wave the stick, and the villagers will also wave their sticks or have their colors changed in sync.

In multiplayer, no villager will sit on the stools in the plaza. Any player can make a request, and that particular player must sit down for the concert to start. All players who were sitting down then will participate in the concert, with the credits rolling. Players who were unable to sit down in time can only hear K.K. Slider sing in the plaza and view participants moving along the rhythm.

K.K.'s poster can be obtained from Nook Shopping after inviting him to Photopia via his respective amiibo .

Prior to its removal in version 2.0 , when the player scans his amiibo and tries to invite him, he will say:

K.K. Slider here. And you are... Player ? What's buzzin', Player ? A campsite ? I can dig it. But the road is calling me, and I've got to answer. Don't mean to bring you down. I'll catch you again sometime.

In Happy Home Designer [ edit ]

K.K. Slider appears in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer as one of the player's clients.

In Pocket Camp [ edit ]

kk slider visit

K.K. Slider's guitar is a special furniture item that was available as a Mailbox gift from November 15 to December 15, 2018. Like his chair, the item summons K.K., but this time he stands while playing and wears a party hat.

In Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori [ edit ]

kk slider visit

K.K. Slider has a minor role in 🎬 Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori . He performs " K.K. Bossa " at the Fireworks Festival at the request of Margie . The song was given written lyrics for the film.

Other appearances [ edit ]

In super smash bros. melee [ edit ].

K.K. Slider (referred to as Totakeke due to Animal Crossing not being released yet internationally during the release of Melee ), along with Tom Nook and Mr. Resetti, appears as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee .

K.K. Slider

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl [ edit ]

In the Smashville stage, K.K. Slider will visit every Saturday at Night, with 7PM having him practice his guitar before playing his own songs, while from 8PM to Midnight, he will starting singing one of his six songs featured in the Smash Bros. series, including K.K. Cruisin' , K.K. Condor , K.K. Western , K.K. Gumbo , Rockin' K.K. , and/or DJ K.K. . K.K. Slider sits on top of the stump in Smashville's nearby background, with extra decorations added specifically for his visit, such as lights and cables.

K.K. Slider

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U [ edit ]

Like Smashville, Town and City also features K.K. Slider visiting every Saturday, playing songs from 8PM to Midnight, though this time around, he does not show up at all during 7PM. All of his songs from Smashville in Brawl are retained in Town and City, with no new songs added for this game. K.K. Slider is only seen in the Town half of the stage, whereas fighting during the City half won't show K.K. Slider anywhere to be seen, but his song will continue playing as normal. K.K. Slider also retains his entire role in the returning Smashville stage.

Trivia [ edit ]

kk slider visit

  • K.K.'s birthday, August 23 rd , comes from the real-life birthday of Kazumi Totaka.
  • In the first popularity poll held on the Doubutsu no Mori website, K.K. Slider is ranked 1st with 474 votes. [1]
  • In a second popularity poll held on the Doubutsu no Mori+ website, K.K. Slider is ranked 1st with 3,112 votes. [2]
  • K.K. is the first character to interact with the player in the Animal Crossing series , giving a monologue in the original first-generation Animal Crossing games directly after exiting the title screen for the first time. This moment is alluded to in Animal Crossing: New Horizons , during which K.K. first appears to the player in a dream after their first day on the island.
  • In early installments, K.K.'s arms are too short in-game for his right paw to actually reach the strings of his guitar. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf , his model's arms are long enough to reach the guitar strings, but they still do not; his posture does not allow for it, as his arm reaches over the end of the guitar. Animal Crossing: New Horizons corrects the issue by adjusting his playing posture, so his arm reaches over the middle of his guitar instead.
  • One of K.K.'s quotes from Animal Crossing: Wild World - "Those industry fat cats try to put a price on my music, but it wants to be free." - gained notoriety on various news websites, as it was believed to promote illegal file sharing. In response, Nintendo of America's vice president of corporate affairs at the time, Perrin Kaplan, stated that K.K.'s quote does not reflect the views of the company, only that he is "a free spirit who cannot be bought and sold for any amount of money." [3]
  • In Animal Crossing: New Horizons , two stickers can be seen on the back of K.K.'s guitar that feature drawings of Brewster and Dr. Shrunk , likely referencing The Roost and Club LOL, the venues K.K. performed at in previous games. These stickers can only be seen when listening to K.K. live as the camera rotates around him; however, they can be seen more clearly on the textures for K.K.'s guitar.
  • Other than DJ KK , his alter ego, K.K. also shares his birthday with Nana .

Notes [ edit ]

  • ↑ K.K. Slider also makes an appearance on error screens (excluding "The Game Disc could not be read"). For example, he appears if the save data is corrupted, and begrudgingly tells the player that their data needs to be deleted.
  • ↑ Re-Tail sell price; if item can be sold at Timmy and Tommy's store , it is 80% of the sell price; if item can be sold to Leila at Tortimer Island , it is 5% of the sell price.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons KK Slider Complete Songs List and How to Get Them

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a ton of things to collect and keep track of like furniture, DIY recipes, works of art , bugs, and fishes. One of the easier things to collect daily is KK Slider songs. There are a variety of ways to get all the songs and some require more effort than others. This guide will help you unlock KK Slider, keep track of all the songs, and know which songs have their own unlock conditions for Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

kk slider visit

How to unlock KK Slider in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To unlock KK Slider, you need to raise your island rating to 3 stars. Once you do this, KK Slider will visit on a regular basis to perform concert at your island.

How to raise your island to three stars in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To do this, you need to do a few things. Your island will be initially at one star so you should focus on laying out plots for new villagers. Once more villagers move in, you can talk to Isabelle and ask for your island rating or “island eval” as the game calls it. Your aim should be building more inclines and bridges, planting more trees and flowers, and just placing more furniture around the island. Each time you talk to Isabelle, she will give you a bit of advice for what to do next. Once you are at three stars, KK Slider will visit you to perform at a concert and you will unlock Terraforming.

Where to buy KK Slider songs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

You can buy one song a day at Nook Shopping for 3,200 Bells. You should use this to send songs to friends and ask friends to send you songs as well. That helps hasten the process to get all the songs that can be bought.

How to request a song in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Some songs can’t be bought directly and need to be requested when KK Slider performs on your island every Saturday at around 6 PM (real time). You need to type out a song name with proper casing and punctuation for it to work. If you don’t care and just want a random song, you can tell KK Slider to play something based on mood instead of a specific song.

KK Slider coming to new Lego Animal Crossing sets

Music to our ears.

Animal Crossing's musical pooch KK Slider takes centre stage in a second wave of Lego sets themed around Nintendo's relaxed life sim series.

KK, Isabelle and Audie minifigures are included in a new town hall set which also features an RV and a small café stand. (Brewster minifigure when?!)

A second set features the landing jetty and lookout tower of Dodo Airlines. This will include Wilbur and Tangy minifigurines.

Both sets are part of a fresh wave of Animal Crossing Lego set to go on sale this August. Nintendo's initial range of Animal Crossing Lego sets first debuted in March and included models featuring mortgage-loving shopkeeper Tom Nook and turtle sea captain Kapp'n.

Amusingly, a teaser trailer showing the sets featuring KK Slider includes the warning message: "Lego KK Slider minifigure doesn't actually sing or move." Just in case you were hoping for some Toy Story-style magic.
