UAE reintroduces 90-day visit visa, allowing visitors to stay for up to 3 months
The cost of a 90-day visit visa ranges from Dh1,500 to Dh2,000, depending on various factors.
The UAE has reintroduced the three-month visit visa. Previously, the three-month or 90-day visa was discontinued and replaced with a longer-term 60-day visa for visitors planning to stay in the country for an extended period.
A representative from the Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) call center confirmed that individuals interested in visiting the UAE for 90 days can take advantage of this opportunity. They advised consulting travel agents who can assist in obtaining the 90-day visit visa.
Experts in the industry have reported that this reintroduction occurred at the end of May 2023, enabling visitors to remain in the UAE for up to 90 days. However, it is possible to extend the visa within the country for an additional fee, which varies depending on the service provider.
Types of entry permits
"There are two categories of entry permits available: tourist visas or leisure visas, and visit visas,"
explained Subair Thekepurathvalappil, senior manager for inbound and outbound operations at Regal Tours Worldwide . He further mentioned that a tourist visa is typically issued for either 30 or 60 days, while a visit visa allows for a 90-day stay. This extended visit visa option complements the existing tourist visa choices, providing travelers with increased flexibility in planning their itineraries.
The 30-day and recently introduced 60-day tourist visas have been popular among visitors seeking shorter stays in the UAE. These visas offer sufficient time to explore the country's renowned landmarks and enjoy its world-class shopping and dining experiences.
Who can apply?
According to Libin Varghese, sales director at Rooh Tourism LLC , many residents are unaware of the reintroduced three-month visa offered by the authorities. Industry experts have clarified that this visa is open to anyone and is valid for both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Varghese further explained that currently, there hasn't been a significant number of inquiries about this visa. However, individuals who are particularly interested in this entry permit are often family members of residents in the UAE. They may wish to spend an extended period in the country, such as children visiting during school vacations or parents of residents.
According to Subair , in the past, the UAE offered two types of entry permits: a leisure visa with a validity of three months and a tourist visa with a validity of 30 days. However, recent changes in visa procedures have introduced additional options. Last year, the authorities implemented modifications that allowed for the extension of the three-month visa within the country by paying an extension fee. This change was well-received and gained popularity among visitors.
The cost of a 90-day visit visa can differ based on the travel agent or agency handling the visa application. The fee typically starts at Dh1,500 and can go up to Dh2,000. It is important to note that the specific details regarding visa extensions have not been announced yet since the visa was recently introduced. According to Varghese, further information regarding the extension process will be made available in due course.
Documents required
To apply for the long-term visit visa, Subair explains that the following documents need to be submitted:
- Recent passport-size colored photograph
- Copy of the passport
The processing time for the visa application may vary, but Subair mentions that it can take up to five working days. However, in some cases, it is possible to receive the visa within two days.

Dubai residents who want to host their friends or family in the country can now get a 3-month visit visa, according to residents and travel agencies. The host is required to pay a refundable deposit of Dh1,000 for this visa.
KV, who works as a PRO for a Dubai-based company, said that he has secured these visas for his company employees. “I have applied for this visa for family members of two of my colleagues in the last month,” he said. “I approached the AMER centre in Karama near the post office, and the process was easy. However, as per my experience, the family members must be immediate blood relatives like mother, father or siblings.”
According to him, the total cost of the service was Dh1,770. “The deposit was Dh1,000, and the visa with typing charges and service fee cost Dh770,” he said.
In October 2022, sweeping reforms were made to entry visas in the UAE as part of the Advanced Visa System. It introduced one of the largest residency and entry permit reforms in the UAE to date.
However, according to travel agencies in the country, they are unable to apply for these visas in their systems. “As of now, only individuals applying on the system can get these visas,” said Afi Ahmed from Smart Travels. “The individuals must apply for it online on the GDRFA website, on the app or through an Amer typing centre.”
On the GDRFA website, users can also apply for entry permits for business or job opportunities, entry permits for those awaiting their Green Visas, as well as a patient escort permit, among others.
Dubai resident Mohammed said he had applied for a visa for his mother to travel to the city. “Initially, I planned to apply for a 60-day visit visa through a travel agency,” he said. “But when I heard of the 90-day visa, I applied for it through an Amer centre. It was a very easy process.”
As part of the advanced visa services, an array of new entry permits was introduced. Some of them included a job exploration entry visa , one for business entry , a five-year multi-entry tourist visa , one to seek medical treatment, for temporary work , and for studies and training.
Last week, UAE's Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) announced the implementation of a new package of updates to improve the services provided to citizens, residents, and visitors through its smart services system.
The ICA has adopted a list of 15 services that were updated in its smart services system as of February 1, 2023.

The UAE has changed the entry rule for 90-day tourist visa holders, allowing them to enter the country more than once.
The new entry rule for holders of the regular 90-day tourist visa was announced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP).
Previously, holders of the regular 90-day tourist visa were allowed to enter the UAE only once.
According to the ICP, the updated system will be enforced starting October 3, and will also include updates to other visas, including multiple entry visas.

Changing the entry rule for 90-day normal visit visa to allow the holder to enter more than once will be applied to all types of visas within the new updated system, according to the ICP.
The ICP pointed out, however, that some visas will only allow entry to the UAE once, which includes visit visa.
Multi-entry UAE visit visa
The authority also issues a multi-entry visit visa for the purpose of tourism, valid for a period of 5 years, without the requirement of a guarantor or host within the country. The applicant needs provide proof of a six-month bank balance of $4,000.

The ICP clarified that the multiple-entry tourist visa allows holder to stay in the country for a continuous period not exceeding 90 days, and can be extended for a similar period, provided that the entire stay period does not exceed 180 days in a year.
The updated entry visas provide new and multiple options for those wishing to visit the UAE with flexible and extendable periods of up to one year, without the requirement of a guarantor or host, according to the ICP. ICA/Expat Media

Your Ultimate Guide to the Dubai 90-Day Visa
- Author- Aarohi
- Publish Date- 11-09-2023
The Dubai 90-day visit visa is a specific category of visit visa designed for travellers seeking an extended stay of up to 90 days in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This type of visa is suitable for various purposes, such as tourism, attending business meetings, or visiting relatives and friends residing in Dubai. It provides an opportunity for a more extended and immersive experience in Dubai's vibrant and diverse culture.
Who is eligible for the Dubai 90-Day Visa?
The 90-day Visa for Dubai is accessible to citizens of specific countries who meet the prerequisites outlined by Dubai's immigration authorities. The eligibility criteria involve several factors, such as the nature of the visit, financial standing, and holding a valid passport with at least six months of validity. Meeting these requirements is essential to obtaining this extended stay visa and enjoying an extended visit to Dubai.
What are the benefits of the Dubai 90-Day Visa?
The Dubai Visa for 90 days offers several benefits, including:
a. Extended stay: With this visa, you can spend up to 90 days in Dubai, allowing ample time to explore the city's attractions, conduct business, or visit family and friends.
b. Multiple entries: The Dubai 90-Day Visa typically allows for multiple entries, giving you the flexibility to enter and exit Dubai as needed during the visa's validity period.
c. Business opportunities: If you plan to engage in business activities in Dubai, the 90-Day Visa provides an extended period to meet potential clients, attend conferences, or explore business opportunities.
d. Family visits: For individuals with family members residing in Dubai, the 90-day Visa allows for an extended stay to spend quality time together.
Types of 90-day Visa Dubai
There are two primary types of 3-month visas for Dubai :
- Dubai 90-Day Single Entry Visa: The 90-Day Single Entry Visa for Dubai permits travellers to enter the city once, and once entered, they are allowed to remain in Dubai continuously for a maximum period of 90 days, starting from the date of their initial entry. This visa is suitable for individuals planning a single, extended visit to Dubai for various purposes such as tourism, business, or family visits.
- Dubai 90-Day Multiple Entry Visa: A multiple-entry visa allows you to enter Dubai more than once during your visa validity. Also, this visa benefits you greatly and perfectly suits travellers wishing to stay in Dubai longer. But one is not allowed to exceed living in Dubai on a multiple entry visa if the validity expires because if it happens, you are not allowed to stay in Dubai, and if you do, you’ll be imposed a fine for it. If a person wishes to stay in Dubai for some time longer than the validity of their visa, they may apply for a visa extension or renewal.
Validity time for a 90-day single & multiple-entry visa
The 90-day single-entry Dubai is a one-time entry and becomes invalid upon departure from Dubai or the UAE. Its initial validity is 60 days from the date of issuance.
The 90-day multiple-entry Dubai is bound to benefit you in many ways, and it gives you a fair amount of visa validity, which is 58 days, a month, and 18 days. And, of course, the stay validity over this validity is 90 days since we are talking about a 90-day visa.
The processing time for a 90-day visa in Dubai
The processing time for a visa mostly depends on the applicant. If the applicant has filled in all the information and provided all the correct documentation, then it usually doesn’t take more than 3–4 days to process a visa. 3-4 days is even the actual and usual time for processing a Dubai visa.
And if one wants to get the visa at the exact time, make sure not to make any mistakes while filling out your visa application form. Also, the details of the visa application form must match the person's passport; if it doesn’t get matched, your visa time may get extended, or your visa can even get cancelled.
Requirements for a 90-day multiple entry visa
- A Dubai multiple-entry visa application form is needed at the very beginning.
- Next, one should have a valid passport six months after arriving in Dubai.
- A photocopy of the first and last pages of the passport is also required.
- One should also have at least 2 passport-sized photos of them; the photos should not be older than 3 months and be visible. All the personal details, such as the full name, citizenship country, date of birth, etc., will also be required.
- The applicant will also be required to provide his/her travel details and lodging details in Dubai.
Lastly, the applicant applying for a 3-month multiple entry visa Dubai must have all the above documents to get a multiple entry visa and ensure not to provide any wrong information since you are troubling yourself only if you do the same.
Dubai 90-day visit visa price.
The cost of a 90-day single-entry Dubai visa is 1590 AED. Unfortunately, the 90-day multiple-entry Dubai Visa Cost is not available. For more information, please contact Dubai Visit Visa Online through the website or email at [email protected] for details and inquiries regarding visa options and pricing.
