Had a Great time on the private tour. The guide JP was very knowledgeable about the island and was really accommodating to what we wanted to do through out the day.

We were lucky to have Dave as our guide and he gave us the best day of our holiday. We had rented a car last week but we wanted a locals view and some hidden gems to sample and he didn’t disappoint! My husband and I and our 7 yr old son thoroughly enjoyed Dave’s knowledge and passion of this beautiful island and we were lucky to have found a number of places we hadn’t yet experienced. We felt like Dave was family by the end of the day. We will do this tour again once we return.

I booked a last minute tour with Custom Island after we had spent a few days in Waikiki. It’s a fun place to visit but I got the sense we were missing on a lot of things to see on the rest of Oahu and we didn’t have a rental car.

This was the best day and way to see the island for sure. We saw so much. Turtles, whales, shrimp, shave ice, nuts, temples, dinosaurs and amazing views. We had enough time as we wanted anywhere and he gave us lots of tips and ideas as well.

It was a fabulous trip with Tiho. Even though many places were closed on Christmas day, he customized the trip very nicely based on our tastes and was extremely polite and understanding. He was extremely punctual and a thorough professional. I highly recommend this company and Tiho for tours of Oahu.

Typically in a 4-6 hour window we can make around 6-12 stops.  It depends on what you are interested in and how much time you would like to spend at each place.

We have a 24 hour cancelation policy.  Please let us know the day before your scheduled tour to get a full refund.  This is out of courtesy for our guides.

2. Private Cultural Catamaran Tour

If you want the cultural experience of a luau but the scenic beauty of a boat tour, then this Cultural Catamaran Tour is for you. As you set sail on a custom-built double-hulled canoe, you’ll get to hear Hawaiian stories, history, and ukulele music while singing while you sail along Oahu’s stunning Kona (leeward) coastline.

You’ll have the opportunity to participate in a few fun activities, like taro pounding and hula dancing. We did this tour last year and can say that it was way more insightful and educational compared to a luau! This might be one of the most memorable private tours on Oahu that we’ve done.

Although the boat can only take 6 people, these trips are normally offered as small group tours.  If you prefer to enjoy the entire experience privately, boats can also be chartered just for your group (although they are still limited to 6 guests).

They offer four different sailing times – one in the morning, two in the afternoon, and one for sunset. The sunset cruise is wonderful, especially considering it includes dinner, music, and a sunset ‘oli (chant). Morning and afternoon are nice too but only include refreshments and pupus.

Of course, you can always do both! These are our favorite luaus on Oahu but keep exploring Hawaiian culture by seeking out more authentically Hawaiian experiences !

3. Private Snorkeling or Sailing Tour

With vibrant coral reefs and an abundance of marine life, Oahu is an excellent island for snorkeling, with lots to see right from the shore. But if you really want to see the breathtaking beauty of the underwater world, then make sure you book this Private Snorkeling Tour on a catamaran!

Leaving from Kewalo Basin Harbor, you’ll sail across the southern coast of Oahu to an offshore reef to swim with sea turtles and tropical fish. You might even get to see dolphins, and if you’re traveling from December to May, humpback whales!

While it’s primarily a snorkeling tour, those who prefer to stay dry can stay on board while others are in the water. The on-board crew is also quite knowledgeable when it comes to history and culture, making this a truly fun activity for all types of travelers.

Tours can be booked as 2-, 3-, or 4-hour trips and are offered for groups of up to 6 people. All snorkeling equipment is provided, and you’ll have plenty of space to relax on your private, shaded 30-foot catamaran while you sail back to shore. Plus, you’ll get dramatic views of Diamond Head, Waikiki Beach, and the iconic Honolulu skyline while you do!

Soft drinks and water are provided, but you can also bring your own food and drinks if you want to have a snack along the way.

4. Private Circle Island Tour

If you only have a limited amount of time on Oahu, then a Private Circle Island Tour is one of the best ways to see as much as possible. With a guide and driver with Hali’a Tours, you’ll be able to see the entire island, stopping at all the different beaches, landmarks, and sights that you want to see along the way. They currently offer half-day (6 hours), full-day (9 hours), and even long-day (12 hours) tours.

While there are recommended routes and sites to see, each tour can be fully customized to your interests. So, if you’d rather be in the mountains than on the beaches, or at botanical gardens rather than museums – just let them know! This is one of the reasons private tours on Oahu are great — you can customize what you see!

They’re also happy to organize specific shopping, foodie, or city stops as well. Once you have a list of things you want to do, they can help finalize all the details to make sure your trip goes off without a hitch. We like to do a circle island tour at the beginning of our trip so we can go back to our favorite stops later.

Prices are flat rates for group sizes of 1 to 5 or 6 to 10, although they can also accommodate larger group sizes if needed. Anything else you schedule on your trip, like activities, entrance tickets, or meals, is an additional cost.

5. Private Adventure Tour

For a non-stop day of action and adventure, book this fully custom Private Adventure Tour of Oahu for your entire group. You get to decide how you want to spend the day, whether it’s snorkeling, hiking, cliff jumping, paddleboarding, kayaking, etc.! 

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel or rental and provide snorkel equipment, snacks, drinks, and goPro photography services (trust us – it’s a huge perk to have someone there to take photos of the activities along the way!).

Full-day tours are roughly 8 hours and start at 10 AM, while half-day tours start at 9 AM and last 4 hours. After submitting your activity requests, you’ll be contacted a few days before to confirm your exact itinerary.

6. Private Helicopter Tour

If you thought Oahu was beautiful, just wait until you see it from the skies! On a Private Helicopter Tour , you’ll get to see the famous landmarks, valleys, mountains, and waterfalls that this island is known for.

7. Private Surfing Lesson

You’re bound to see countless surfers having the time of their lives while you’re in Hawaii and you want in on the fun! There’s no better place to learn than on Oahu, thanks to the legendary waves and the island’s laid-back surf culture. 

The Ohana Surf Project is located right in the middle of Waikiki in San Souci State Park near Kapiolani Regional Park. They offer 1- or 2-hour Private Surfing Lessons for any experience level or surfing style. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first or 50th time on a board – their friendly instructors are there to help make sure you’re having a fun and safe time on the water.

Once in Hawaii, I suddently realised that I hadn’t booked any Pearl Harbor visits or tickets or anything! Panic! But a few emails later with Susie (as I had Wifi but only a foreign phone) sorted out the date and time and off we went on our last day prior to our evening flight to see the Arizona Memorial. Perfect! A long way to come without seeing what I wanted to tick off the list. Bali just added to the tour. It gives it that human, family feel as you know, from the website, that this is not a factory booking with a driver supplied but a proper local Hawaiian experience. We just finished doing an island tour with Susie and her faithful assistant tour guide Bali. We had the most wonderful time touring the island of Oahu. Beautiful beaches, vistas, and good food along the way. Susie customized a tour to suit our interests and pace. We got to see many areas that the big tour companies just do not get to. Her knowledge of the islands history was very informative and learned much about how Hawaii became what it is today. Her assistant Bali is awesome and a real crowd pleaser when we stopped alone the way. Bali is a terrific skateboarder and full of tricks. I entered this entry on Travelocity: My aunt & I booked two tours with Aloha Private Tours (Honolulu). While Aloha Tours can plan tours for the traveler, we appreciated being able to set our own itinerary. Susie, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, flexible, and able to meet our special needs. She can coordinate an itinerary to meet any activity level. We tried native foods and saw places not offerred by the bigger touring companies. Hawai’i has a very fragile ecosystem here in Hawaii. You may notice your guide picking up trash at beaches and hikes. That is to ensure that rubbish doesn’t end up in our oceans, and to leave the area cleaner for the next people to enjoy. Had the most amazing time! Ryan who took us to all the places we wanted to go and all the local hotspots! We went Paddleboarding, snorkeling, hiking, cliff jumping and swam under secluded waterfalls. Ryan was super friendly and made sure we got the most of both days. Super easy to book especially with short notice, would recommend as a must do for anyone traveling to Oahu to get the most out of your trip!

Five stars all the way! All eight of us had a great time with Ryan. He had a perfect day planned and executed a few extras along the way. Snorkeling was fantastic! The whole family explored some really cool waters. Found turtles, an eel and a large octopus. Turtle swam right between jay and Jessica. Ryan was super knowledgeable and prepared. I highly recommend using him. We loved it and will be back.

Normally I'm not that into writing reviews, but this was such an amazing time that I had to. We did the full day excursion and got to snorkel, kayak, hike, and see some cool sites around the island. Ryan was incredibly helpful and took us to some great spots that were out of this world. I really could not recommend this service enough.

DEFINITELY BOOK THIS. My boyfriend and I really wanted to see/do all that we could in our short time visiting. Hanging out with Ryan for the day was a treat! It’s like hanging out with an old time friend. Absolutely worth the time and money. Do not bother booking with a bunch of other big companies to do hikes, snorkeling, tours, etc. This family company combines all that into an honestly awesome day of adventure. We would’ve never been able to see the breathtaking views we did without him.

We had such a great day with Ryan (owner Ryan). He planned a great day of snorkeling, SUP boarding, and hiking. His love of his home state and nature made it such a fun experience! I did the personalized full day adventure and than stayed at the B&B afterwards. Each was a phenomenal experience. The tour was specifically catered to my interests and level of competence at the different activities. As the day progressed we tweaked our itinerary to include or spend more time on certain things if I liked, or choose to go on to something more low key. It was far from any generic experience, instead, everything felt like I was just hanging out with my buddies.

Our day was amazing. More then we could of asked for. We spent the day surfing, sup, eating local and jumping off cliffs. We had done other tours the days prior and now wish we just waited as this trumped the others. Ryan was our personal photographer and made sure we got the best angles. Can't recommend these guys enough.

So we're a family of 3 that wanted to do a circle tour of the North Shore on our own time and see the things that most interested us. Spending a day in a gorgeous red convertible and being able to stop when and where you want beats a cattle-car bus tour any day of the week. Plus, Mark is extremely knowledgeable about the island's history and highlights, sharing information about things WE were interested in.

Mark is absolutely the only person you would want taking you around Oahu. Being our first time, we did not know all of the amazing spots that Mark took the time to show us. He had so many details and insightful facts about each one of the spots that we visited.
