I have gone on four tours with Casa Tours. 3 to Chile and 1 to Argentina. If you are looking for a top notch guided ski company specializing in Chile and Argentina ski adventures I highly recommend Casa. I just returned from the "Classic Shortie" which was an organized trip visiting several Chilean hills with a couple of days of cat skiing at Arpa mixed in. We had anywhere from 3-4 guides a day for our group of 11 skiers. David (Gomez) Johnson, the company owner, is very hands on and was with us every day of our tour. He and his guides do a fantastic job of making sure each and every customer gets the ski adventure they want. In addition to that we enjoyed several different nights out to experience the local cuisine and culture. Our accommodations were top notch as well. While not inexpensive this company provides an excellent value for everything it includes. I look forward to traveling with them again in the future.

The presidential executive office or better known as “Casa Rosada” is located at Plaza de Mayo in the heart of Buenos Aires. The pink color of the palace gives it a remarkable look. But, did you know that you can visit Casa Rosada? And for free? A hidden secret for many.

Visit Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires

Visiting a presidential palace has something unique and the guides of Buenos Aires know that, and hereby the available spaces are fast occupied. The tours in Casa Rosada are guided and with timeslots. A tour takes around 1h. We give you the best tips on how to get access.

How to get an entrance ticket?

The Casa Rosada is open for the public every Saturday. However, registration before is obligatory. The registration always starts two weeks before the actual visit date. Meaning, you want to visit Casa Rosada on January 14th? Then the registration will be open on January 1st. Follow this link.  (UPDATE: the link is currently not working. I’m waiting for an answer of Casa Rosada)

English guided tours are always at 12h30 and the spaces are limited. If you want to follow the tour in Spanish, then you have more options.

An overview of how to get your free ticket:

• Two weeks before visiting the registration opens. This link .
• Tours only on Saturdays. English tour at 12h30.
• Registrate with your passport! Based on your passport they will do a check in the police databases.
• Print your tickets.
• Bring your passport when you go to visit Casa Rosada. No access without a passport.

What makes it special?

The presidential palace has a rich history. Before the Casa Rosada, there was the Fort of Juan Baltazar of Austria. The fort was demolished in 1857 and the palace was constructed in the same place.

The Casa Rosada has beautiful rooms with influences from all over the world. Also, the famous balcony of Eva Duarte Perón is open to visitors. In the meantime, you get a look where the president works and meetings are taken place with presidents from other countries. Definitely worth a visit Casa Rosada.

What a beautiful palace. We were lucky that we could visit Casa Rosada just before the presidential inauguration in December. Definitly a secret in Buenos Aires.

About Regina Spektor

Regina Spektor calls them sandcastles. There’s a million of them, songs that rise up and multiply in her brain — the fruits of months, sometimes years, of channeling and crafting. But what happens to them when it’s time to make new music? “They all have to be slowly washed away. Some of them are really well built, and they’re really high up on the beach,” she says. “It all has to be gone, and then I can start to hear new songs and make a new record.”

Starting with a clean slate, with six momentous years between albums, Spektor returned in 2022 with Home, before and after. The eagerly awaited eighth studio album was the follow-up to 2016’s Remember Us to Life. It paired Spektor with John Congleton (St. Vincent, Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen), who produced the album from afar in Los Angeles with Spektor co-producing in upstate New York.

The years between her albums weren’t exactly fallow. In 2016, at her friend Lin-Manuel Miranda’s invitation, she contributed a song (“Dear Theodosia,” featuring Ben Folds) to The Hamilton Mixtape. Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio declared Regina Spektor Day in her hometown in June 2019, she got a street sign with her name at the Bronx Walk of Fame, and that same month staged a sold out residency on Broadway at the legendary Lunt- Fontanne Theatre.

Her work for television and film continued. “You’ve Got Time,” from Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black, entered the pantheon of classic TV theme songs, so much so that Spektor released an orchestral version of the award-winning tune for the final episode. She wrote “One Little Soldier” for the closing credits of the film Bombshell and multiple songs for the animated series Central Park.

Time has been kind to Spektor’s work. Twenty years have passed since she self-released her 2001 debut, 11:11, which recently received a remastered reissue, as well as a limited-edition box set. In the decades since, Spektor, who was born in Moscow, Russia and raised in the Bronx, New York, has defied classification. With a sophisticated marriage of classical training and a gift for sharp pop hooks and nuanced lyrics, she has created her own genre. She makes Regina Spektor music.

We believe the most important element to a great trip is a safe trip. Whether it is getting to and from the mountain on snowy roads or traveling through the country we put our professional drivers behind the wheel. Our skilled drivers know the roads, routes and conditions allowing you to kick back and enjoy the scenery, zone out, nap or catch a movie, and enjoy those après ski beers without worry. Our drivers are an integral part of our adventures and I could not be prouder of the job they do. They add a great deal to the cultural element of our journeys sharing their countries’ local customs, slang, food, and off the beaten track treasures.

Our groups travel in Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans that are owned by our local drivers. We have ample space to carry those second pair of skis or board. While public transportation in South America is excellent it is difficult and costly to shuttle those last miles to the local snow centers. Renting vehicles in Chile is particularly expensive with gasoline prices regularly +7USD/Gallon and average toll prices are $3.50USD. In addition staying in the towns we visit rather than at the resorts we have an opportunity to experience the local culture more without the stress of having to drive.
