Neighbours: The Farewell Tour has announced the first two legendary characters joining the line-up.

The news was announced on ITV’s Lorraine today (Wednesday, July 13) by presenter Carol Vorderman who revealed the two iconic Neighbours stars set to join the tour next year, which will open in Belfast on March 1 2023 and tour 15 dates throughout the UK.

Mainstay characters Jackie Woodburne and Alan Fletcher, who have played lovable Karl and Susan Kennedy for 27 years, are the first cast to join the highly-anticipated tour and will be travelling to the UK in March 2023.

The tour promises to treat fans to ‘Never-before-heard stories from Erinsborough’ with an opportunity for an audience Q&A and even a chance to meet the stars in person, while fans will also have a chance to reminisce on their favourite Ramsay Street moments.

Lovingly called ‘The King and Queen of Ramsay Street,’ the soap icons have remained on the show since joining in 1994 and have been at the centre of some of the biggest storylines over almost three decades.

Some of their most dramatic scenes included Karl’s affair with Sarah Beaumont and the breakdown of their marriage when Karl fell for Izzy Hoyland.

Meanwhile, the couple were also involved in more emotional episodes that saw Susan battle with MS and amnesia and not forgetting the infamous Finn Kelly storyline in 2020.

The couple has remained two of the most beloved characters in the soap world for almost three decades and will be making their final appearance in the Neighbours finale , which is set to air later this month.

Alan Fletcher said: “I have been incredibly moved by the outpouring of love and support from fans as their favourite TV show is ending its 37-year run. This is why I am so excited to be involved in the Farewell Tour .

“These shows will bring together thousands of dedicated fans to join cast past and present in a huge celebration of the show we all love so much. I expect this tour to be an unforgettable experience for the audience and cast alike.”

The Neighbours finale will air on Friday, July 29 on Channel 5 at 9pm. Until then Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45 pm and 6 pm on Channel 5. You can also stream on My5.

About Neighbours - The Farewell Tour

Following the postponement of Neighbours: Live in Conversation - a sold-out show, rescheduled dates have been added, and the iconic cast members will be heading to the SEC Armadillio March 10, 2023. This celebration will give Neighbours fans a chance to reminisce on their favourite Ramsay Street moments over the last three and a half decades, taking a look back at history. The audience will be treated to never-before-heard stories from Erinsborough, and have the chance to ask their own burning questions. There will also be an opportunity for some lucky fans to meet and greet their best-loved cast members from the show. Dean Elliott, Producer at Maple Tree Entertainment said: “When Neighbours: Live in Conversation sold out within 24 hours, we knew that the love for the show could see it tour the UK, and there is no better time to take to the road than to mark the end and to honour its rich and lengthy history.” After 37 years on air neighbours has come to an end – but UK audiences will be able to say ‘farewell’ in person with this ultimate celebration of the show. This is an event made by fans, for the fans, and if you love Neighbours, this is a tour not to be missed.

Neighbours’ fans got the devastating news in March that the Australian soap was coming to an end.

Before it finishes, many of the classic stars are returning, including Guy Pearce, Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan .

It is set to be the biggest episode in the Channel 5 show’s history, but it isn’t the only bittersweet event to look forward to.

A tour across the UK has been announced, one that will allow fans to see their favourite stars in person as they look back over the series’ 37-year history.

The tour promises to give audiences never-before-heard stories and a unique insight into the soap.

What is Neighbours: The Farewell Tour?

Fans have been emotionally preparing themselves for the end of Neighbours, but the stories will go on for a little longer than originally thought.

Even though the show will finish later this summer, a live tour is heading to the UK in 2023.

It is set to feature members of the cast as they look back over the series’ nearly 40-year history.

The stars will be sharing memories and reminiscing over their favourite moments in Ramsay Street.

It will also feature a Q&A, giving the audience a unique opportunity to voice their burning questions.

When is What is Neighbours: The Farewell Tour coming to the UK?

Tickets for the event are set to go on sale for all venues on June 17, with a pre-sale kicking off on June 15.

All ticket information can be found at Maple Tree Entertainment .

It will take place in March 2023, seven months after the soap comes to an end on TV.

The tour will start at Manchester, travelling across the UK before it ends in Southampton.

The full schedule is as follows:

• Monday March 6 - Manchester Bridgwater Hall
• Wednesday March 8 - Edinburgh Festival Theatre
• Friday March 10 - Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
• Sunday March 12 - Cardiff St David’s Hall
• Tuesday March 14 - London Palladium Theatre
• Thursday March 16 - Birmingham Symphony Hall
• Saturday March 18 - Brighton Centre
• Sunday March 19 - Southampton Mayflower Theatre

When is Neighbours coming to an end?

The final episode of Neighbours will air later this year on Monday August 1, 2022.

It will bring the broadcast to an end in both the UK and Australia, as Channel 5’s decision to stop airing the show led to its cancellation.

A spokesperson for Fremantle, the producers behind the soap, said: "It is with sadness that after nearly 37 years and almost 9,000 episodes broadcast, we are confirming that Neighbours will cease production in June.

"Following the loss of a key broadcast partner in the UK, and despite a search for alternative funding, we currently have no option but to rest the show."

Nick Knowles reveals major update on Strictly future after ‘gutting’ injury

Nick Knowles has shared an update on his future on Strictly Come Dancing after suffering an injury.

The DIY SOS star, 62, was forced to miss out on last week’s live show, which saw Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones leave the competition .

Nick was seen clutching crutches after damaging his knee , and said he was ‘gutted’ to not be on the dancefloor with his co-stars.

It has yet to be confirmed whether he’ll be returning to the ballroom alongside the likes of Chris McCausland and Dr Punam Krishan this week, but the TV star has now shared an update.

Speaking on It Takes Two yesterday alongside his pro partner Luba Mushtuk, Nick said: ‘We had a great week learning the dance and we were doing the camera tech rehearsals where the cameras get to see how the dance works and everything.

‘Very last step of the dance, I was late getting to where I should and leapt to the position and my one leg stayed still and the rest of me went through.

‘A bit of a collapse and realised it wasn’t in a good condition. I hurt my knee basically.’

‘The dance was amazing!’ Luba chimed in with.

He went on: ‘Each day gets a little bit better.  On Friday, it looked pretty bad to be honest, it felt bad. Saturday was not so good but I got a scan and had a look at that we decided to wait until Monday so we could have a look at that.

‘Monday was a little bit stronger and today I got to see the physios and with a lot of rehab from physios and doctors, they have given me clearance to try and dance tomorrow to train.

‘If I train tomorrow, that’s not necessarily be the end of it.’

He added: ‘We will see how I do tomorrow and that is all we can say at the moment.’

Luba, 34, said: ‘Today was a big day to have the clearance to rehearsal tomorrow.

‘Tomorrow we will try and we will go gentle and see what we can do and what we can’t and then adjust it.’

If the couple are able to dance, they’ll be bringing their Movie Week performance to the ballroom, having had to miss out on the theme last weekend.

Luba added: ‘We will take it step-by-step and see what is comfortable and maybe what is feeling uncomfortable. We will create it together.’

Following an arm injury the week before, when Nick was put in a sling, he told It Takes Two host Janette Manrara : ‘I’m getting sick and tired of my injuries, everyone else must be getting fed up with it as well.

‘I want to be able to do the dance well enough tomorrow that I’m just judged on the dance and not any of the other things.

‘If you think about it, everybody has got things to deal with, Chris is doing amazing things every week, Punam is holding down a GP job whilst training, everyone has their own mountains to climb.’

He added that he’s ‘really happy’ to hopefully be performing a Paddington song for his ten-year-old son.

‘It was weird for me sitting at home and watching the show,’ Nick continued, recalling last weekend, where he was sat at home wearing a suit.

‘The weirdest thing was seeing Luba on set without being a part of it,’ he said, adding: ‘I’m really, really hopeful, fingers crossed.’

Neighbours farewell tour provides new update for fans after show return news

The UK tour has a new name.

The Neighbours UK farewell tour has dropped another update, with the show confirming that it has been renamed.

Last week it was announced that the soap will be returning , with the tour revealing at the time that it will still be going ahead – though may need a new name.

Following on from that, the show has confirmed that it will now be called The Celebration Tour given the change of circumstances.

"Following the exciting news that the show is returning, we’re rebranding the Farewell Tour (for the third time!) to Neighbours – The Celebration Tour, a name which perfectly represents what it was always planned to be, a celebration of Neighbours past, present and FUTURE!" they tweeted.

Neighbours was cancelled earlier this year by Channel 5 , with its farewell airing over the summer . However, it was revealed last week that it will return on Amazon Freevee.

It has since emerged that hundreds of episodes are in the pipeline , with a source telling Digital Spy : "The plan is for Neighbours to keep its format as a high-volume daily soap opera, so it'll still be the show that fans know and love.

"Plans are being made for two new seasons, which will run for 200 episodes each. It's an incredible result for fans, who thought they'd seen the last of the show when the finale aired in July.

"The logic for Freevee is that daily episode drops will keep fans checking back on the streaming service and engage with other content available."

Neighbours returns in the second half of 2023 with new episodes streaming free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. Network 10 will retain first-run rights in Australia for the new series.
