Best MagSafe wireless chargers for iPhone 2024

Simon Jary

We’ve rounded up the best MagSafe, Qi2 and MagSafe-compatible magnetic chargers, from the plain pad to multi-functional stands (up to six devices charged), and even the most colorful—from snap-on chargers and modular stands to foldable power banks and full desk mats.

Apple’s MagSafe technology, supported by all models of iPhone 12/13/14/15, presents a more efficient way of wirelessly charging compatible iPhones. MagSafe is the ring of magnets around the iPhone 12, 13, 14 and 15’s internal charging coil that senses compatible accessories and magnetically snaps securely into the most efficient charging position with the right accessories. With MagSafe, you’re less likely to wake up to find your phone wasn’t correctly placed on the wireless charger so didn’t charge at all!

We have tested a lot of magnetic chargers—MagSafe, Qi2 and Compatible—and here inform you which one will work best for you. There are simple magnetic wireless chargers, multi-device chargers for iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods, travel chargers, car chargers and more. Click here to get to the type of charger you need or keep scrolling for the full list of the favorites we have tested.

  • Best wireless charging sleeve

Offering up to 15W power output, MagSafe charging is twice as fast merely compatible 7.5W magnetic wireless charging.

A new Qi2 standard , supported by the iPhone 13/14/15 family (and unofficially the iPhone 12), now means that some non-MagSafe chargers are able to charge supporting phones at the full 15W—if they are certified for Qi2, of course. Qi2 is based on the same technology as Apple’s MagSafe so offers similar 15W speed charging.

We’ve started testing the new Qi2 chargers—read our Anker Qi2 MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station review —and the Qi2 charging speeds are close enough to MagSafe’s to be regarded as identical.

Made for MagSafe and Qi2 certification logos

MagSafe or Qi2 certification

Apple certifies MagSafe accessories to ensures that the output charging is 15W, compared to non-certified magnetic but MagSafe-compatible chargers that are usually just 7.5W. Certified MagSafe chargers also have a single-wire NFC antenna that allows the iPhone to identify the device, a built-in magnetometer, and a compass to prevent interference while you are using your iPhone while it’s charging.

In our tests, 15W MagSafe and new Qi2 chargers are evenly matched for charging speeds. 7.5W MagSafe compatible chargers, as you might expect, take around twice as long—certainly in the early stages of charging. But don’t rule out 7.5W chargers as they are often high quality, nearly always noticeably cheaper and just take a while longer to fully charge an iPhone.

We have avoided the many cheap models found online and focused on the premium brands, while also including those that offer something different.

Simple vs multi-device magnetic chargers

The most basic form of MagSafe or magnetic charger is the simple pad that latches on to the compatible iPhone. Some pads feature a pop-out arm so the iPhone can be propped up while charging. There are also products that can simultaneously charge an iPhone plus other Apple devices, such as an Apple Watch or wireless AirPods charging case. Note that the AirPods case must be of the wireless variety, and the original AirPods case lacked this functionality. The base of a multi-charger could also be used to charge a second iPhone but mostly not magnetically and at 5W rather than 7.5W or 15W. Also see our round up of the Best Apple Watch chargers and stands .

A simple MagSafe charging pad is the cheapest route to wireless iPhone charging. It’s still half as fast as using a standard Lightning or USB-C cable, however, and if you are going to the bother of connecting this product to a wall charger, why not just use a Lightning (iPhone 12/13/14) or USB-C (iPhone 15) cable? You can fast-charge an iPhone to 50% battery in under 30 minutes using a cable, while it takes around 50 minutes to wirelessly charge iPhone from 0 to 50% using even 15W MagSafe.

That said, there are interesting options to choose from. After these we’ll look at more multi-functional MagSafe chargers.

1. Apple MagSafe Charger – Best simple MagSafe charger if you must buy Apple

Apple MagSafe Charger – Best simple MagSafe charger if you must buy Apple

  • Fast 15W for iPhone
  • Short cable

Output charging : 15W (MagSafe)

Cable : 1m (3.3ft)

Wall charger : Not included

Colors : White

The most obvious MagSafe Charger to buy for your Apple iPhone is, of course, the Apple MagSafe Charger. It’s the charger that Apple would have shipped with the iPhone if it did such things anymore.

It’s as minimalist a design as you’d expect from Apple–it looks a lot like a giant Apple Watch Charger. You can also use it to charge your AirPods.

Its main advantage over the non-certified competition is its 15W charging power. It’s still half as fast as using a Lightning or USB-C cable, however, and if you are going to the bother of connecting this product to a wall charger, why not just use a Lightning (iPhone 12/13/14) or USB-C (iPhone 15) cable? You can fast-charge an iPhone to 50% battery in under 30 minutes using a cable, while it takes around 50 minutes to wirelessly charge iPhone from 0 to 50% using even 15W MagSafe.

And the Apple MagSafe Charger is not perfect. It is too small and light to stay on the desk when you pick up your iPhone, making it a poor wireless charging pad. There is a third-party solution to this flappy annoyance. The Nomad MagSafe Mount is a weighted zinc holder that creates a secure base to anchor the MagSafe Charger to your desk. Nomad says that it works with all MagSafe iPhones (12-15) except the iPhone 14 Pro and 15 Pro—although it worked fine with our test 15 Pro.

The 1m cable is too short to comfortably charge and use your iPhone at the same time, or maybe stretch from a power socket to a nearby table. For a longer cable, try the Anker Qi2 MagGo Wireless Charger Pad , reviewed below, that boasts a 1.5m cable. The Belkin BoostCharge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad 15W , also reviewed below, has an even longer 2m cable.

Don’t forget that this Apple charger still requires a USB-C wall charger—at least 20W recommended if you want the full 15W potential.

We think there are better MagSafe and MagSafe-compatible alternatives, so keep reading for our non-Apple recommendations.

2. Anker Qi2 MagGo Wireless Charger Pad – Best budget simple MagSafe charger

Anker Qi2 MagGo Wireless Charger Pad – Best budget simple MagSafe charger

  • Inexpensive

Output charging : 15W (Qi2)

Cable : 1.5m (5ft)

Colors : Black, White

Another basic magnetic charger, Anker’s MagGo Wireless Charger Pad works just like the Apple pad, and also at a fast 15W—although it’s technology is Qi2 rather than Apple MagSafe.

It works just as well, though, and is one of the cheaper premium magnetic chargers.

The cable is a decent length at 1.5m—half again as long as that on the Apple MagSafe Charger pad, but not as long as on the 2m Belkin MagSafe charger reviewed below.

3. Belkin BoostCharge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad 15W – Best simple MagSafe charger with stand

Belkin BoostCharge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad 15W – Best simple MagSafe charger with stand

  • Built-in stand
  • High list price

Cable : 2m (6.6ft)

Wall charger : Optional

Available in two predictable colors, the Belkin BoostCharge Pro Charger Pad is as fast as Apple’s Charger and comes with a longer cable and handy pop-up stand. The cable is twice as long as Apple’s, which makes using the phone much easier when charging. It’s also thicker nylon-braided cable with a handy integrated silicone cable tie.

Its list price is higher than Apple’s, which is a surprise, so you’re paying a premium for the longer premium cable and the kickstand but we think it’s worth the extra if you must have a certified 15W MagSafe charger. Check our price comparison here for cheaper online prices. An alternative is the 15W Anker Qi2 MagGo pad, reviewed above, which has a 1.5m cable but no stand.

Again, a straight cable connection will be faster but we like the kickstand, which you don’t get with a standard cable connection.

You can buy with a 27W power adapter included or just on its own if you already have a wall charger to use.

There are a few very similar Belkin Charger Pads so make sure you get what you’re after. For example, there is a slower but more affordable 7.5W MagSafe-compatible BoostCharge Charger Pad ($29 and sometimes cheaper from Amazon U.S. and Amazon U.K. ) that lacks the stand. If you just want a cheap MagSafe-compatible charging pad, this is a decent option. Be warned: Belkin also sells a Qi Wireless Charging Pad that lacks the magnetic connection so is not recommended as it will be picky where the phone is placed and slower to charge as a result.

4. ESR HaloLock Kickstand Wireless Charger – Best budget magnetic charger with stand

ESR HaloLock Kickstand Wireless Charger – Best budget magnetic charger with stand

  • Color options

Output charging : 7.5W (Compatible)

Colors : White, Black, Blue, Pink

This is a small, simple magnetic charging pad that has a kickstand that lets you prop your attached iPhone 12/13/14/15 up either in landscape or portrait mode for video viewing or hands-free FaceTime calls. It’s a more affordable but slightly slower alternative to the Belkin pad reviewed above.

The detachable cable length is reasonable at 1.5m and matches the four colors, so is wildly more flamboyant than the other magnetic wireless chargers tested here, except for…

5. Casetify Magnetic Wireless Charger – Widest choice of fun designs

Casetify Magnetic Wireless Charger – Widest choice of fun designs

  • Hundreds of options

Colors : Many cool and/or odd patterns

We picked the English Breakfast pattern for its sheer wanton oddness but there are plenty of other patterns (Acid, Checks, Cherry Blossom) and pictures (Yeti, Harry Potter, Snoopy) to choose from.

Indeed, there are a sometimes baffling 556 different wireless charger designs to choose from. Most are quite random but there are themes such as Street Art and Anime, plus characters such as Doreamon and SongeBob, and individual artists, with the option to customize a plain charger with text.

This 100% recyclable slim charger has eco sustainability points, too, as it’s made with recycled aluminum and printed with eco-friendly ink.

6. Nomad Stand / Stand One – Sturdy but stylish 15W Qi2 and MagSafe charging stands

Nomad Stand / Stand One – Sturdy but stylish 15W Qi2 and MagSafe charging stands

  • Robust stand
  • Non-adjustable charging pad
  • Expensive for one-device charger

Output charging : 15W (Qi2 Stand or MagSafe Stand One)

Colors : Black or White; Stand One: Carbite or Silver

The Nomad Stand uses the MagSafe-based Qi2 magnetic wireless charging technology, so offers the same fast 15W charging speed as MagSafe at a reduced price. Nomad also sells a MagSafe version, the Stand One , for $10 more but everything is otherwise the same except for the color options: the Stand comes in Black or White, while the Stand One is available in Carbite (which really is black) and Silver.

Qi2 works for the iPhone 15, and (when using a version of iOS later than 17.2) the earlier iPhone 13 and 14. iPhone 12 users are better advised to pay the little extra for the MagSafe Stand One.

It’s a lovely looking stand that is the sturdiest wireless charging stand we’ve tested, with a real heft and an anti-slip rubber base. It is decidedly heavy (1.35lbs or 613g), so could be used as a paperweight if you have your desk fan turned up too high. It’s made of metal with a glass panel that gives it a glossy look from the front.

The 21-degree viewing angle works well for comfortable viewing but if you want to customize the angle to your own liking you’ll need to choose one of the more adjustable 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 wireless chargers reviewed below.

The Nomad Stand and Stand One look like 2-in-1 chargers, with the area at the back of the stand begging to be a simple Qi charging pad for your AirPods, but it’s an iPhone-only charger.

Nomad does make a 3-in-1 version, the $180 Stand One Max , which can charge iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods at the same time. This also looks great and charges the iPhone at a rapid 15W. It does have a flaw, unfortunately, in that it can’t charge the iPhone in landscape orientation (for Apple’s StandBy mode) when charging a Watch at the same time as the two charging pads are too close to each other. Otherwise, it’s a fine-looking, if again a little expensive, fast charger.

Why restrict your charger to just one device? You can buy MagSafe chargers that tackle up to six different devices at the same time. Here, we start with basic 2-in-1 MagSafe chargers that can wirelessly charge your iPhone and AirPods case (the case must be wireless-charging enabled). Most multi-device chargers are stands but there are also folding travel chargers that work equally well full-time on your desk or nightstand or on the road with you at your hotel or office space.

1. Satechi 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand – Best 2-in-1 magnetic charger

Satechi 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand – Best 2-in-1 magnetic charger

  • Charges iPhone and AirPods
  • Adjustable charging pad
  • Folds for travel

Cable : 1.2 m (4ft)

Colors : Aluminum gray

With a remarkably small 3.5-inch square (9cm) footprint, this 2-in-1 charger uses the new Qi2 wireless charging technology to match MagSafe on 15W speed. The AirPod charging pad charges at 5W and could be used to charge a second phone, although much slower than using the raised magnetic pad.

It even folds up flat to make it travel friendly, although you’ll need to supply your own USB-C wall charger. It’s pretty light at just 9.6oz (272g).

2. Ugreen 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Charger Stand – Best budget 2-in-1 magnetic charging stand

Ugreen 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Charger Stand – Best budget 2-in-1 magnetic charging stand

  • USB-C port for Watch cable
  • Compact and folds for travel

Cable : 1 m (3.3ft)

While the Satechi 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand, reviewed above, can fold into a portable package, it is nowhere near as compact and lightweight (7.5oz or 212g) as Ugreen’s 2-in-1 magnetic wireless charger, which folds down into a tiny pocketable cube (2.4 x 2.4 x 1.5 inches or 6 x 6 x 4cm).

Once open there’s a 5W Qi pad for AirPods and a 15W Qi2 pad for iPhone. A USB-C port on one side allows you to plug in your Apple Watch charging cable for 5W speedy charging, too.

The iPhone-charging pad can be raised to about 3 inches (8cm), and can be angled to your preference.

Ugreen also sells a cheaper $39 MagSafe-compatible 2-in-1 Magnetic Charger that charges the phone at a slower 7.5W.

3. Anker PowerWave Magnetic 2-in-1 Stand – Budget 2-in-1 magnetic charging stand

Anker PowerWave Magnetic 2-in-1 Stand – Budget 2-in-1 magnetic charging stand

Cable : 1.5 m (5ft)

Colors : Black or White

The Anker PowerWave si not portable like the Satechi and Ugreen 2-in-1 chargers, reviewed above, but it is a good-looking stand for your desk or nightstand.

Built to charge both an iPhone 12/13/14/15 and wireless AirPod case charger, it is “compatible” rather than Apple certified and therefore doesn’t reach the 15W phone charging heights. However, it is well made, very affordable and works a treat (if a little slower).

Its 7.5W charging is fine if you have the time; if you’re in a real hurry you’d be better off using a cable than using a 15W certified MagSafe charger anyway.

The AirPods are charged at 5W, which is standard for all such multi-device magnetic chargers.

You get angled landscape (up to 40 degrees) and portrait modes with this good-looking stand from one of our favorite premium accessory makers.

The magnetic link is super strong so you don’t need to worry about the iPhone falling off even during re-angling.

4. Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock with MagSafe 15W – Best designer magnetic charger

Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock with MagSafe 15W – Best designer magnetic charger

  • Charges iPhone or AirPods and Watch
  • Designer looks
  • Fast Apple Watch charging
  • Includes 30W charger

Wall charger : 30W AC power adapter

Colors : Charcoal, Sand

We’ve chosen this fast magnetic charger not because of its heroically long-winded name but for its designer good looks. It’s a minimalist 2-in-1 charging stand that can wirelessly charge an iPhone at 15W and fast-charge an Apple Watch. The top pad can angle at up to 70 degrees.

Steve Jobs and Jony Ive knew that tech should aspire to timeless design, and it’s no surprise that Apple has chosen to stock the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Dock MagSafe charger in its  stores .

The dock’s organic looks are complemented by the two available neutral yet naturalistic colors: Charcoal and Sand.

There are other magnetic wireless chargers reviewed here that can do more and at lower prices, but this is one we’d proudly place on our designer desk to show off rather than hide away.

5. Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Charging Pad (Qi2) – Best 2-in-1 magnetic charging pad

Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Charging Pad (Qi2) – Best 2-in-1 magnetic charging pad

  • Phone lies flat

Belkin’s expanding range of fast Qi2 wireless chargers includes a simple pad that can fit an iPhone plus an AirPods case. Although it doesn’t include an Apple Watch charging module, there is a 5W USB-C port that you can connect your Watch-charging cable into and charge all three devices simultaneously.

It might not be as pretty a 3-in-1 solution as its own MagSafe-certified Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad, reviewed above, but as a 2-in-1 solution it is cheaper and better suited for those who haven’t succumbed to every Apple device available.

Being certified as Qi2 means that it can wirelessly charge at the same 15W as official MagSafe chargers.

Belkin BOOST CHARGE PRO 2-in-1 Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe Orange

Belkin also sells a MagSafe version (at the same 15W as the Qi2 model) in a richer range of colors, including orange, pink and purple, exclusively through the Apple Store (and U.K. Apple Store ).

Both versions are reassuringly heavy so you won’t pull it off your bedside table when you remove your iPhone from the magnetic pad. This makes it less obviously portable, but it’s small and flat enough to slip into a backpack.

As it’s a pad you can’t angle the phone into StandBy mode. If you want to more easily see the time on your nightstand, consider one of the charging stands reviewed above.

It ships with a 30W USB-C wall charger and cable.

6. Casetify 2-in-1 Charging Stand – Widest choice of fun designs

Casetify 2-in-1 Charging Stand – Widest choice of fun designs

  • Wide range of fun designs

Output charging : 7.55W (Compatible)

Cable : 1.8m (6ft)

Colors : Many

With the Casetify range, there are 52 (at the time of writing) different designs to choose from if you want your wireless charging stand to stand out from the crowd.

Choose from the base representing a basketball or tennis court, football pitch, piano keys, Acid Flowers, Strawberry Checkers or a bunch of other prints.

It’s a 7.5W iPhone wireless charger and 5W AirPods charger, so not the fastest but it does the job fast enough unless you are in a desperate rush—in which case we recommend using a charging cable.

The stand is at a decent height and the charging pad can tilt.

If you have brought full-in on the Apple product ecosystem, and have iPhone, AirPods and an Apple Watch, there are some great 3-in-1 magnetic chargers that will wirelessly charge all three devices simultaneously. 3-in-1 charging stands save you precious desk space or keep your nightstand or bedside table clear of clutter, while ensuring that you don’t run out of power during the day.

1. Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe – Best overall 3-in-1 MagSafe charger

Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe – Best overall 3-in-1 MagSafe charger

  • 3-in-1 charging
  • Fast charge Watch
  • Adjustable pad
  • Includes charger
  • Only in black

Apple Watch fast charge: Yes

Wall charger : 40W AC power adapter

Colors : Black

A 3-in-1 charger that can re-power iPhone, AirPods and Watch is a boon for Apple fans, but most of the products we’ve tested take up quite a lot of desk space. The stylish HiRise 3 Deluxe, as its name suggests, goes more vertical and so has a smaller footprint—handy for bedside tables and other places where a giant charging stand is less welcome.

It is fully Apple certified, so can fast-charge any MagSafe iPhone (iPhone 12, 13, 14 or 15 models but not SE) at 15W as well as fast-charge an Apple Watch (Series 7, 8, 9, SE and Ultra) at 5W and Apple AirPods (2nd and 3rd generation AirPods, and all AirPods Pro) at 7.5W.

It’s 6 inches (15.4cm) high, 3.4in (8.5cm) wide and 6.3in (15.9cm) deep. In comparison, the Belkin 3-in-1 is 13.5cm wide. For an even smaller footprint, consider the OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station, reviewed below.

The MagSafe iPhone charger can angle and tilt by 35-degrees, and hold the device in either landscape or portrait—so works well in iOS 17’s StandBy mode . The Watch charger is also tiltable and we like the way everything but the AirPods case is front-facing.

The base charges at 7.5W and can be used to power up AirPods or a second iPhone, and the Watch part fast charges at 5W.

2. ESR Qi2 HaloLock 3-in-1 Watch Wireless Charging Set – Best 15W budget 3-in-1 magnetic stand

ESR Qi2 HaloLock 3-in-1 Watch Wireless Charging Set – Best 15W budget 3-in-1 magnetic stand

  • 15W for iPhone
  • Non-adjustable pads

Wall charger : 27W AC power adapter

Qi2 chargers should be cheaper than fully Apple MagSafe certified chargers as manufacturers don’t have to pay a license fee for the privilege, and this 3-in-1 Qi2 wireless charger comes in at a lower price than equally speedy 15W MagSafe variants we have reviewed here.

It offers fast 15W iPhone wireless charging and 5W Apple Watch fast charging in a small-footprint design (3.7-inch square base) that tucks the Apple Watch charger at the back. The Watch charger is detachable, meaning you can remove it and take it with you to plug directly into any USB-C charging port. This is a useful option missing from most other 3-in-1 chargers.

in our tests the Qi2-based ESR 3-in-1 charger was marginally faster than the MagSafe-based Twelve South 3-in-1, reviewed above,. This proves that you don’t need to buy and pay for MagSafe-certified chargers if the charger uses Qi2, which is based on MagSafe anyway.

The ESR’s Qi2 pad is not adjustable, although you can position the iPhone in either landscape (StandBy) or portrait orientations. In this way it lacks the front-facing flexibility of the HiRise 3 Deluxe, but it is available at a significantly lower price.

It comes with a decent-length cable and a 27W USB-C wall charger.

Its closest rival in looks is the Journey Trio 3-in-1 , reviewed below, which also features a detachable Watch charger. In terms of budget, it’s a close run race with the Anker Qi2 MagGo 3-in-1 Stand , which has a different design and a more powerful USB-C charger. Check the prices to see which is the most affordable at the time of reading.

3. Satechi 3-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand – Most flexible 15W 3-in-1 magnetic stand

Satechi 3-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand – Most flexible 15W 3-in-1 magnetic stand

Wall charger : 45W AC power adapte

As with the 2-in-1 model, we are big fans of the Satechi Qi2 Foldable 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand.

It has the same small 3.5-inch square (9cm) footprint, and Qi2 wireless charging technology to match MagSafe on 15W speed. The AirPod charging pad charges at 5W and could instead charge a second phone, although much slower than with the MagSafe pad.

Apple Watch charging is fast, with the back-mounted pad providing 5W of power.

It too folds up flat to make it travel friendly, and this time comes with a 45W USB-C chargers that is further boosted with U.K. and E.U. travel adapters. For a 3-in-1, it’s light at just 10.7oz (302g). The cuter and more compact Anker 3-in-1 Cube, reviewed below, weighs 14.3oz (405g).

It’s not as affordable as the ESR so misses our budget recommendation, and we prefer the Watch charger to be front-mounted, which gives the Twelve South the overall crown. However, with its foldability and travel plugs, this makes a great charging station choice for at base and on your travels—see lower down for more best MagSafe travel chargers . if you don’t mind the Watch at the back, this charger’s flexibility and fast speeds makes it an easy recommendation.

4. Journey Trio Ultra 3-in-1 Fast Wireless Charging Station

Journey Trio Ultra 3-in-1 Fast Wireless Charging Station

  • Only in white

This 3-in-1 charger for iPhone, Watch and AirPods has a small footprint, about the same size as the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe reviewed above. It also matches that charging station in terms of charging speed and tilting charging pad. It’s fully certified for iPhone (so fast 15W) and Watch (fast 5W). The lower charging pad is rated at 5W and can be used to charge your AirPods or a second phone, although not magnetically and much slower than the main MagSafe pad.

While this is an impressive 3-in-1 charger, we prefer the cheaper HiRise 3 Deluxe for its more flexible, front-mounted Watch charging module. However, if you don’t mid hanging the Watch at the back and prefer white over black, you should consider the Trio Ultra instead.

The Trio Ultra also has a smaller footprint than the HiRise, and is a little taller, which some may prefer. It measures 6.7 inches high, 3.4in wide and 5.3in deep (16.9-x-8.6-x-13.4cm).

Journey also offers a cheaper 7.5W version, the $139 Journey Trio 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station , below, which has the same measurements and tilting skills as the Trio Ultra but offers a slower iPhone charging pad (7.5W vs 15W). This model is available in either white or black.

Journey TRIO 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station

The 7.5W version has some tricks up its sleeve, as its detachable USB-C Apple Watch charger means you can take it with you on your travels and simply plug it into a USB-C port—say on your MacBook—to charge your Apple Watch away from the charging stand. While it’s cheaper than the faster Trio Ultra, the more basic Trio doesn’t ship with a wall charger, so you’ll need to add your own.

The 1 5W ESR Qi2 3-in-1 , reviewed above, is similar in looks (with detachable charger) and is both cheaper and more powerful (15W vs 7.5W) than the basic Journey Trio 3-in-1.

5. Anker MagGo Qi2 Wireless Charging Station (3-in-1 Stand) – 15W budget 3-in-1 magnetic stand

Anker MagGo Qi2 Wireless Charging Station (3-in-1 Stand) – 15W budget 3-in-1 magnetic stand

Like the ESR Qi2 3-in-1 Watch Wireless Charging Set (HaloLock), reviewed above, the Anker MagGo 3-in-1 charger is cheaper than fully Apple MagSafe certified chargers. You could pay half again for a full MagSafe 3-in-1 charger that offers the same 15W iPhone power.

It too offers fast 15W iPhone wireless charging and 5W Apple Watch fast charging but in a coat-stand design that is sturdy and with iPhone and Watch facing the front. This differs from the ESR charger, which places a detachable Watch charger at the back. We prefer the Watch at the front so we can still interact with it, but it does make the stand’s base larger (5.5 inch diameter vs ESR’s 3.7-inch square base).

Neither the iPhone or Watch charging pad is tiltable. You can, however, position the iPhone in either landscape (StandBy) or portrait orientations.

It comes with a 5-foot cable and a powerful 40W USB-C wall charger.

6. Alogic MagSpeed 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station – 7.5W budget 3-in-1 magnetic stand

Alogic MagSpeed 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station – 7.5W budget 3-in-1 magnetic stand

  • Not Watch fast charge
  • Non-adjustable pad

Apple Watch fast charge: No

Wall charger : Not included, except in Australia: 20W AC power adapter

For a budget 3-in-1 magnetic stand that will charge your iPhone 12/13/14/15, AirPods wireless-charging case and Apple Watch, the Alogic MagSpeed 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is similar in charging speeds to the Journey Trio 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station, reviewed above, but not the Trio Ultra, HiRise 3 Deluxe or Anker MagGo.

The iPhone can be rotated in either portrait or landscape mode, but it can’t be angled up or down. This is where the Anker charger wins out in the battle of the affordable 3-in-1 MagSafe chargers.

If you are buying in Australia (Alogic is an Australian company), you get a 20W charger, but elsewhere you’ll need to use your own wall charger.

While this was once a great price point, the arrival of Qi2-based 15W 3-in-1 chargers has brought faster charging down to the same ball park of under $100. As such, the ESR Qi2 3-in-1 and Anker MagGo 3-in-1 represent better value than the Alogic MagSpeed 3-in-1 Wireless Charger—although you may prefer this design.

7. Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe – Best compact 3-in-1 magnetic charger

Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe – Best compact 3-in-1 magnetic charger

Colors : Gray

This 3-in-1 MagSafe charger is certified by Apple, so offers full 15W wireless charging for iPhone 12/13/14/15 plus 5W for AirPods and 5W for Apple Watch.

Although on the heavy side, it’s super-compact and great for travel. The Watch charging part is hidden in the cube until you need it. It comes with a 30W USB-C wall charger with switchable UK and EU plug fittings that slide onto the US plug prongs.

Its tiny footprint means it takes up little space on your desk or bedside cable, too. If you don’t own an Apple Watch, consider the equally dinky Ugreen 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand, reviewed in our 2-in-1 roundup above.

The stand works in landscape and portrait orientations but isn’t high. It does have adjustable viewing angles up to 60°.

A similar 3-in-1 charger from the same company is the A-frame Anker 737 MagGo , which can also simultaneously charge an iPhone (at 15W), AirPods and Watch. Aside from the shape, the only real difference from the Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe is that the slightly cheaper 737 doesn’t support fast-charging for the Apple Watch.

8. Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (3-in-1 Pad) – Best 3-in-1 MagSafe charging pad

Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (3-in-1 Pad) – Best 3-in-1 MagSafe charging pad

Like its Qi2 charger 3-in-1 Stand sibling, Anker’s 15W Wireless Charging Station (3-in-1 Pad) is cheaper than 15W MagSafe rivals but just as powerful. The 5W Apple Watch charger also allows for fast charging.

In fact, it beats its nearest competition, the Belkin Boost Charge 3-in-1 Wireless Charing Pad, reviewed below, not just on price but on flexibility. Where the Belkin features an adjustable Watch charging module (for Nightstand mode) like the Anker, its iPhone charging pad only allows for a flat placement, while the Anker has a pad that can be raised and tilted 90-180 degrees—it could even be described as a stand/pad combo.

It measures 9-x-3.4-x-0.5 inches (22.9-x-8.6-x-1.3cm) and weighs 12oz (340g).

9. Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad

Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad

  • Fast charges Watch

Belkin has two models of 3-in-1 wireless charger, both MFi-certified, that can simultaneously charge your portable Apple goodies: iPhone, AirPods and Watch.

If you’ve bought into the whole Apple device ecosystem, this one will charge all you pocketable or wearable devices. of particular note is that it can fast-charge the Apple Watch.

This model is a flat pad that also includes the possibility to leave the Watch in Nightstand mode as a bedside or desk clock. We would have preferred if the phone charger could also be angled to prop up the phone for video viewing, like you can with the Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Pad reviewed above.

While minimalist in design, it does take up a fair section of desk–measuring about 23cm across and 8cm wide, and the iPhone sticks out at either side. It’s around the same size as the Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Pad.

The pad format is better for travel portability than a charging stand, and it comes with its own wall power supply unit, so you don’t need to add your own USB-C charger.

10. Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand with MagSafe

Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand with MagSafe

  • Includes wall charger
  • Large footprint

Belkin has a 3-in-1 MagSafe Charger that is a stand where the phone and Watch are held high and the AirPods case sits underneath in a Qi-compatible hollow on the base.

This is more stylish that other wireless charging stands, having a Sixties space-age design with chrome arms, and a silicone-covered plastic base.

A stand is useful as it lifts the charging phone to a height that makes it easier to FaceTime or watch videos without having to hold the phone aloft. It can hold the phone in either portrait or landscape mode.

In order to support the weight of the phone, the circular base has to be quite wide, at 13.5cm. For a smaller footprint 3-in-1 charger consider the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe or OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station—both reviewed above.

An LED indicates if the AirPods are charging, and it ships with its own power supply unit.

11. Zens Office Charger Pro 3

Zens Office Charger Pro 3

  • Small footprint

Wall charger : 45W AC power adapter

This 3-in-1 Apple device wireless charger is well made and has one of the smallest desktop footprints we have seen.

It can fast charge the Apple Watch and has Qi2 wireless charging technology so hits the top 15W speed when charging an iPhone 12/13/14/15.

The charging modules are fixed , which doesn’t give you any flexibility for adjusting the phone position aside from choosing whether to place it in either landscape or portrait orientation.

The 45W charger is more powerful than some we’ve tested, and we like that it comes with plug heads for U.S., U.K. and E.U. sockets.

12. Mophie 3-in-1 Extendable Stand – Best height-adjustable MagSafe charger

Mophie 3-in-1 Extendable Stand – Best height-adjustable MagSafe charger

  • Height adjustment
  • Tiltable MagSafe mount
  • Mostly plastic construction

Cable : None

If you want to properly raise your iPhone in a stand, this Mophie 3-in-1 charging stand is height adjustable between 7.5 to 16 inches (19-40cm).

The MagSafe mount is tilt adjustable, too, making this stand great for using FaceTime on the iPhone.

Fully Apple certified, it wirelessly charges an iPhone at 15W and can also fast-charge an Apple Watch.

While it feels stable, we’d have preferred a less plasticky stand column.

13. OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station with MagSafe

OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station with MagSafe

  • North America only

Wall charger : 36W AC power adapter

This fast-charging 3-in-1 charger is a little smaller than even the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe and Journey Trio Ultra, both reviewed above. It measures 5.6 inches high, and 4.6 inches both wide and deep (13.9-x-11.7-x-11.7cm).

It’s a great multi-device charger but is beaten by the other two fast 3-in-1 products, which both feature more flexible, tiltable iPhone charging pads.

14. Zens 4-in-1 Modular Wireless Charger – Best 4-in-1 MagSafe charging stand

Zens 4-in-1 Modular Wireless Charger – Best 4-in-1 MagSafe charging stand

  • 4-in-1 (up to 6-in1)

Wall charger : 65W AC power adapter

The Zens 4-in-1 Modular Charging Station for iPhone with MagSafe, AirPods, Apple Watch and iPad is a MagSafe-certified charging stand that can handle not just four Apple devices but more if you buy extra charging modules to connect.

Any MagSafe iPhone (12/13/14/15) can be wirelessly charged at up to 15W, faster than non-certified MagSafe-compatible chargers. AirPods and Apple Watch will each charge wirelessly at 5W.

The iPhone can be placed in either portrait or landscape mode. At the back is a stand where you can place an iPad, which can be wired charged via a side-mounted USB-C port at up to 30W.

All devices can be charged simultaneously as the power supply has a 65W total output.

The Watch module that ships with the 4-in-1 charger can handily be situated on either the right- or left-hand side depending on your preference. Modules attach magnetically.

The Apple Watch extension can be disconnected from the main station and charged via a USB-C port to become a standalone wireless charger when travelling.

Up to three modules can be added, and different modules are available separately. Aside from extra Watch modules, the Single Wireless Charger Extension is a 10W wireless charging pad, and the Modular USB-hub Extension lets you recharge a USB-A powered device.

As an environmental bonus, the Charging Station and all modules are made from recycled plastic.

Another Zens product that can charge four devices at the same time, the aluminum Zens 4-in-1 MagSafe + Watch Charging Station ($169.99) is also certified Made for MagSafe so can fast-charge an iPhone 12/13/14/15 at 15W. The base features a 5W Qi charging pad allows for charging wirelessly rechargeable AirPods or other Qi compatible device, but the Watch charger isn’t rated as fast-charge like some you’ll find on other products reviewed here.

The fourth device is charged using a side-mounted USB-C port, so is wired rather than wireless like the parts for iPhone, Watch and AirPods. Rated at 18W charging, this USB-C connection can fast-charge another iPhone or charge an iPad.

The supplied 45W wall charger comes with US, UK and EU adapter plugs so you can take the Zens 4-in-1 Charging Station on your travels.

Many multi-device magnetic chargers take the form of elegant and frankly quite bulky stands that are designed to sit on a desk or bedside table/nightstand and stay there. Having a 3-in-1 MagSafe charger that can slip in a pocket, handbag or backpack would be even more useful when traveling between offices, homes or hotels.

Thankfully, there are some truly great 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 travel-friendly MagSafe chargers, and we have tested the best of them here.

1. Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (Foldable 3-in-1) – Best overall travel MagSafe charger

Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (Foldable 3-in-1) – Best overall travel MagSafe charger

  • Includes 40W charger

Power specialist Anker is one of the first companies to release Qi2-compatible chargers, and the foldable Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station is a great example of what we can expect from the latest technology.

It charges the iPhone (iPhone 13 and later) at 15W, and is also certified by Apple to fast-charge the Apple Watch, as well as Qi charge AirPods in a wireless charging case.

It is super compact, measuring about the length and width of a credit card (3.5×2.36 inches; 8.9×6cm) and an inch (2.5cm) deep, weighing 6.9oz (195g). The 5W Watch-charging module is tucked away on the underside (see above) and can lie flat or sit up at an angle for Nightstand mode.

The Qi2 pad raises to create a stand for your iPhone, in either portrait or landscape mode for StandBy mode. You can also charge an iPhone with the charger folded and the Qi2 pad on top. You need to unfold it only if you want to charge some AirPods or use the Qi2 pad as a stand.

There are certainly many cheaper 3-in-1 foldable chargers—for example, the $50 Kuxiu X55 3-In-1, reviewed below—but none at either 15W MagSafe or Qi2. You’ll also need to add a USB-C power supply to these cheaper 3-in-1 devices, while the Anker MagGo Charging Station ships with its own powerful 40W wall charger.

2. Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger – Best 2-in-1 travel MagSafe charger

Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger – Best 2-in-1 travel MagSafe charger

  • Charges Watch and iPhone and
  • Can swap Watch for AirPods

Cable : 1,5m (5ft)

Colors : Aluminum

Not content with making our favorite 3-in-1 iPhone/Watch/AirPods charger, the HiRise 3 Deluxe reviewed above, Twelve South has wowed us with this easily pocketable 2-in-1 charger that can handle iPhone and Apple Watch or iPhone and AirPods, charging two devices simultaneously.

It is fully Apple certified, so fast wirelessly charges the iPhone at 15W and the Watch at 5W. You can’t get faster wireless charging—note that wired charging is much faster for iPhones.

It’s a really clever, compact foldable size and offers MacBook-like styling. Unfurl the charger and the two wireless charging pads are revealed. You can fold 180 degrees and place the Watch in Nighstand mode. Flip it round, and you can set the iPhone in landscape StandBy mode.

Yes, it’s expensive but it does come with a super-compact 30W USB-C wall charger that comes with interchangeable international plug heads: US, UK, EU and AU/NZ.

3. KUXIU X55 3-In-1 Foldable Magnetic Wireless Charger & Stand – Best budget 3-in-1 travel MagSafe charger

KUXIU X55 3-In-1 Foldable Magnetic Wireless Charger & Stand – Best budget 3-in-1 travel MagSafe charger

  • Foldable for travel
  • Pad and stand function
  • Super compact, lightweight design
  • Not as sturdy as some

Colors : White, Black, Gray

The Kuxiu X55 3-in-1 Foldable Magnetic Charger is a neat, portable way to charge all your Apple mobile devices—Watch, iPhone, AirPods—at the same time.

It’s special because it folds up into such a compact package—measuring 2.7-x-2.7-x-1.2 inches (6.8-x-6.8-x-3cm). Its closest alternative is the Evolved 3-in-1 Foldable Charger , reviewed below.

From a design and charging point of view, both are similar—and each has its advantages over the other.

In terms of design, the X55 is shorter but deeper. It is also 50g lighter than its rival travel 3-in-1: 147g compared to 197g. From a portability point of view, the X55 therefore wins but because of its weight and size the Evolved 3-in-1 is sturdier and less likely to tip back if at extreme angles. It can be set higher and is more adjustable.

In terms of charging, both are MagSafe compatible so can wirelessly charge the iPhone at 7.5W. However, the X55 can fast-charge an Apple Watch as its Watch-charging module is rated at 5W compared to Evolved’s 3W, which will therefore charge a Watch slower.

We appreciate the X55’s lighter weight and faster Watch charger. If you are going to use the stand part of the charger as a mainstay, then we vote for the Evolved. If you prefer the lightness and the fact that the X55 can be laid flat as well as function as a stand, then our vote switches to the X55 accordingly. The X55 is our favorite 3-in-1 travel stand and pad combo.

The X55 also ships with a hard-shell carry case and a 20W USB-C wall charger, which you’ll need to supply for the Evolved 3-in-1.

We also like the ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set , reviewed below, which is an inch longer and a little wider, but nearly half the depth. The X55 3-in-1 beats the ESR because its Apple Watch charger is integrated and not an attachable module. Again, it’s horses for courses—if you like the idea of having a detachable Watch charger that you can carry separately, then the ESR takes the crown.

The Journey SWIV 3-in-1 , reviewed above, is a little larger but noticeably lighter, and also can fast-charge the Apple Watch. It lies flat so doesn’t have the stand function.

4. Journey SWIV 3-in-1 Foldable Wireless Charging Station

Journey SWIV 3-in-1 Foldable Wireless Charging Station

  • Super compact design

This 3-in-1 iPhone/Watch/AirPods charger folds up extremely neatly into a compact and lightweight package that you wouldn’t really notice in a coat pocket. Of course, despite being wireless when charging your devices it still requires a wall charger (not included); it does comes with a USB-C cable.

The MagSafe charger is compatible so only 7.5W but the Watch does offer 5W fast-charging for your wearable.

The Watch module can lie flat or flip up for Nightstand mode—perfect for a bedside table. If you want a MagSafe travel charger with a stand, consider the Kuxiu X55 , reviewed above.

5. ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set

ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set

Wall charger : 20W AC power adapter

The ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Set is certified by Apple for Apple Watch but is just compatible with MagSafe for iPhone 12/13/14/15 charging, so offers 7.5W rather than 15W.

The Watch charging part is separate but plugs in once the stand is unfolded. When folded it can be used as a wireless charging pad. The iPhone can be set in either landscape or portrait orientation when the charger is doubling up as a stand.

It’s lightweight and foldable, which makes it a great travel solution if you own iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch. Both the Kuxiu X55 and the Evolved 3-in-1 Foldable Charger are a more compact package for Apple Watch and iPhone owners because their Watch-charging modules are built-in. The Journey SWIV is about the same weight as the ESR but without the detachable nature of the Watch charger. It also can fast-charge a Watch unlike the ESR or Evolved foldable chargers.

It measures 4.5-x-2.6-x-0.63 inches (11.3-x-6.6-x-1.6cm).

There’s a smart travel case included that fits in the 20W charger, cable, Watch attachment and folding charging stand.

6. Zens 2-in-1 MagSafe + Watch travel charger

Zens 2-in-1 MagSafe + Watch travel charger

  • Charges iPhone and Apple Watch

Coming in its own hard-shell travel case, the Zens 2-in-1 MagSafe and Watch travel charger is a portable delight for owners of iPhone (12/13/14/15 series) and Apple Watch.

It is officially certified as Made for MagSafe, so charges at the full wireless 15W. Sadly the Watch doesn’t fast charge, too, but its arm folds out to create a kickstand for the iPhone in either portrait or landscape orientation.

Elsewhere we have reviewed the best magnetic battery packs that work with the iPhone 12/13/14/15 , but if you want something more substantial we’ve tested the best MagSafe charging stands that include a portable power bank but can work as a standard charging station when you’re not out and about.

1. OneAdaptr OneGo – Best MagSafe charger with power bank

OneAdaptr OneGo – Best MagSafe charger with power bank

  • 10000mAh power bank
  • 7.5W iPhone, 2W Watch

Watch fast charge: Yes

Cable : 0.5 m (1.6ft)

Colors : White or Black

OneGo is a compact portable wireless charging station with a handy detachable, high-capacity (10000mAh) power bank that you can take with you on your travels.

Folded it measure 6.1-x-3.1-x-1.5 inches (15.5-x-7.8-x-3.7cm).

The Watch-charging module flips up from the back of the power bank. AirPods can be powered up at the back of the stand when the charger is unfolded.

While it’s not the fastest wireless charger (7.5W iPhone and 2W Watch) you can connect a cable to the power bank’s 18W USB-C port for speedy charging.

The OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank with MagSafe, reviewed below, offers faster wireless charging (15W and 5W) but is a much chunkier slab to carry around as the power bank is integrated rather than detachable.

2. Alogic Matrix Ultimate Fold 3-in-1 Stand with Power Bank

Alogic Matrix Ultimate Fold 3-in-1 Stand with Power Bank

  • 3-in-1 fast charging stand
  • 15W iPhone, 3W Watch
  • Detachable 15W MagSafe power bank
  • Low battery capacity
  • Bulkier than slower rivals

The Alogic Matrix Ultimate is multi-talented. It can charge an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods wireless charging case at the same time, plus you can detach the iPhone charging pad and take it with you as a power bank. You can also detach the Apple Watch charger and slot that into any charging USB-C port, including that on the power bank.

On top of all that, you can fold the whole thing up and pack it in its own carry case.

Fully certified, it boasts 15W wireless iPhone charging, and can fast-charge a Watch at the same time.

The power bank’s battery capacity is 5000mAh, which in our tests gave us nearly a three-quarter recharge. There are alternatives, such as the OneAdaptr OneGo, reviewed below, that feature a 10000mAh power bank with much higher recharge potential—but none are rated as fast at charging as the Matrix Ultimate.

In the old days cars had cigarette-lighter sockets, but today a power/charging port for your phone or other device is more common. A magnetic wireless charger in your car is the latest must-have gadget and we’ve tested a bunch to find the best on offer.

1. Belkin Boost Charge Pro Wireless Car Charger with MagSafe – Best MagSafe car charger

Belkin Boost Charge Pro Wireless Car Charger with MagSafe – Best MagSafe car charger

  • Dedicated car accessory
  • Not compatible with all car vents

Cable : Built-in

Wall charger : 12V car charger included

Use your iPhone for satnav directions or to have easy access to your playlists in the car with this MagSafe-certified wireless charger and car vent mount, which works in both landscape and portrait modes.

It has an integrated USB-C cable, and a 12V car charger adapter for cars that come with USB-A ports.

The magnetic link is strong, which should mean that it can cope with any big bumps in the road. It works best with straight, horizontal vent slats up to 3mm in thickness and 20mm in depth. It does work with vertical slats, but there might be slight movements if the mount is overloaded with weight, says Belkin.

As the only dedicated MagSafe-certified 15W car mount available, it is expensive. If you can handle a lower charger rate, the Belkin BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless Car Charger 10W does pretty much the same job for a lot less. Or you can buy Spigen’s Mag Fit Phone Holder Car Mount and add Apple’s MagSafe Charger (reviewed above) for pretty much the same 15W result. That product is also available in black, like most car vents.

2. ESR Qi2 Magnetic Wireless Car Charger (Halolock)

ESR Qi2 Magnetic Wireless Car Charger (Halolock)

  • Car charger not included

While still able to charge at a fast 15W Qi2 chargers are mostly cheaper than the Apple-certified MagSafe—but as Qi2 is based on MagSafe you have nothing to fear choosing this cheaper option.

It comes with a 1m USB-C cable, with USB-A adapter if your car still has that older standard.

You can clip it into the slats on your car’s air vent (ESR says it is compatible with 99% of all cars, which we can’t verify) or you can use the included 3M adhesive mount for a semipermanent attachment to your car’s dashboard—don’t use this on a nice leather or fabric (or curved) dash.

1. Journey ALTI Wireless Charging Desk Mat

Journey ALTI Wireless Charging Desk Mat

  • Stylish charging desk mat

Wall charger: Not included

Colors : Black, Light Gray

This smart desk mat includes a detachable side strip that includes a magnetic wireless charging pad for phone and a non-magnetic section to charge your AirPods. Not only is the mat reversible, with smooth, wipeable vegan leather on one side and warmer-feel felt on the other, but you can pull back the mat to stow paper and notes to help reduce clutter.

It’s quite a large mat, measuring 780 x 70 x 4mm. The Light gray color is actually more of a warm stone tone.

The charging panel connects to the mat with a light magnetic snap, and can be positioned on either side simply by flipping the mat round 180 degrees, depending on whether you are left or right handed.

As it’s MagSafe compatible rather than certified, it charges the iPhone at 7.5W rather than 15W, but will charge other compatible phones at the higher power. Earbuds can be charged at up to 5W. The magnetic fit is strong so you can’t knock it off its charging position with a stray flick of an arm.

It comes with a USB-C cable but requires a charger; recommended 20W or higher.

Best wireless charging laptop sleeve

1. journey nexa 4-in-1 laptop sleeve with wireless charging.

Journey NEXA 4-in-1 Laptop Sleeve with Wireless Charging

  • Luxury MacBook sleeve
  • MagSafe-compatible charging

The premium-quality, vegan leather Journey NEXA laptop sleeve bills itself as a “4-in-1”, and it certainly is multi-functional.

As well as protecting your laptop during travel, it includes two wireless chargers (one MagSafe compatible at 7.5W; one 5W for AirPods or a second phone) and can work as both a desk mat and mousepad to free your workspace of clutter.

While it comes with a USB-C cable, you’ll need to add your own charger (check our roundup of the  best iPhone chargers ) to connect with the USB-C port in the sleeve. Alternatively you can charge the MacBook itself while it sits protected in the sleeve—for this you’ll need a more powerful  MacBook charger .

Why wireless?

Wireless charging is convenient and fine for situations when you don’t need a super-fast recharge.

If you’re leaving your home in 20 minutes and need as much juice as possible, plug in the Lightning cable (or USB-C for iPhone 15) as even a 12W USB charger can power up an iPhone a third faster than wireless, and 50% faster if you use a 20W USB-C PD charger.

It is less wearing than constantly inserting a cable into your phone, and more reliable as that vulnerable cable port can fill with fluff and dust after all the time spent in your trouser pocket or bag and it’s one of the most common reasons that an iPhone refuses to charge even when connected with a cable.

It’s easy to clean with a toothpick (but please do it softly!) but will affect most of us at some time.

Wireless charging isn’t affected by the build-up of dust and fluff in the phone port and is also less vulnerable to oxidation and corrosion.

With wireless, you don’t have to remember to run around trying to find who’s taken your charging cable, and it’s certainly a lot neater.

Of course, wireless charging is not really wireless, unless you are using a portable MagSafe battery pack. The MagSafe charger is still connected by a cable to your wall charger; it’s just the connection to the phone that is properly wireless.

What else you need

Some MagSafe chargers come with their own wall charger, but most require you to add your own. Apple recommends at least a 20W USB-C power adapter (wall-socket charger) and we agree. You won’t get over 15W charging power from the MagSafe charger to the iPhone, but 20W all but guarantees you’ll get as much power as you can.

We have tested the best iPhone wall chargers to help you choose a recommended solution.

Best MagSafe chargers for your iPhone 2024

StandBy Mode makes them much better

Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe 3-in-1 MagSafe for StandBy Mode on top of night stand.

  • Best MagSafe chargers
  • What to look for
  • How we pick
  • Compatibility with older iPhones

The best MagSafe chargers trump the best wireless chargers by magnetically snapping to the back of compatible iPhones, eliminating the possibility of not charging due to poor alignment and ensuring optimal charging efficiency.

The best MagSafe Chargers for iPhone 15 also tout fast charging speeds up to 15W, which doubles the charging speeds of early gen wireless chargers. Of course, with new updates within iOS 17 , there is now a new reason to invest in a new MagSafe charger in the form of StandBy Mode — which essentially turns your charging iPhone into a miniature smart display.

There are a handful of great reasons to ditch cable charging for good. Below are our recommendations for the best MagSafe chargers available to take full advantage of fast charging capabilities and StandBy Mode.

The best MagSafe chargers

Rendered image of Anker 737 MagGo Charger against white background.

Best overall

+ Charges multiple devices + 15W charging speeds + USB-C charging option

- Expensive

Having three different wall charging blocks to charge multiple devices at once is a pain, and a mess. The Anker 737 MagGo charger can charge your iPhone, while supporting StandBy Mode, charge your Apple Watch, and other USB-C enabled devices simultaneously. One device, one wall outlet. The 15W charger can bring an iPhone 14 Pro Max to 50% in less than an hour, and supports both vertical and horizontal viewing angles.

Best 3-in-1 MagSafe charger

+ Can charge three devices at one + CryoBoost for battery health + Can turn off status light

- No USB-C charging option

The ESR 3-in-1 charger can simultaneously charge three devices at once. Its “CyroBoost” charging dissipates heat away from your iPhone, so it's less wear on the battery. You can even turn off the status lights and charge in “dark charging mode” to keep annoying lights at bay at night.

Lisen 3-in-1 Charging Station Cube against white background.

Best value MagSafe charger

+ Compact design + Removable Apple Watch charger + Adjustable stand for iPhone

- Requires separate power adapter

When it comes to getting the most out of your money, the Lisen 3-in-1 Charging Station Cube offers plenty of value because it can often be fetched for under $60. With its cube shaped design, it takes up minimal space on a table top, which also makes it an ideal travel charger for your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch.

Rendered image of MOFT Snap-on MagSafe Battery Pack against white background.

Most portable

+ Lightweight + Portable + Affordable

-  Slower charging speeds

The MOFT Magnetic Power Bank is a great option for MagSafe wireless charging on the go. It’s only 0.5 inches thick, adding little bulk to the back of your phone, and only weighs 0.09 pounds, so you won’t notice a heavy battery pack weighing your phone down either. This battery pack is stackable meaning you can snap other accessories onto it, such as a MagSafe Wallet Stand that can hold your ID and credit card as well.

Twelve South Butterfly 2-in-1 USB-C MagSafe Charger deal block

Best 2-in-1 MagSafe charger

+ Charges two devices at one + Ultra compact design + Multiple stand options

- Very pricey

The Twelve South Butterfly is hailed as the world's smallest 2-in-1 MagSafe charger and for good reason. Its compact size easily tucks away in a pocket, while its flexible design offers a variety of stand options to charge your iPhone and Apple Watch. When you're strapped for space on your carry-on luggage, the Twelve South Butterfly takes up barely any room.

Rendered image of Otterbox Car Dash & Windshield Mount for MagSafe against white background.

Best MagSafe Car Charger

+ Mounts to dashboard and windshield + Adjustable for multiple viewing angles + Works with Otterbox protective case

- Bulky design

This is an ideal MagSafe charger for rideshare drivers or for commuters. The mount can snap to either your dashboard, or your windshield, and is adjustable for you to get a prime viewing angle. And MagSafe compatible cases are able to snap onto the mount without having to remove the case. The charging speeds aren’t the fastest, but this MagSafe charger provides you with the most options for placement inside of your car.

Rendered image of Nomad Stand One MagSafe Charger against white background.

 Clean Design

+ Looks great + Fast charging + Simple and small design

- Power adapter not included

Nomad designs some polished looking accessories and its MagSafe wireless charger is no exception. Plain and simple. Beyond its elegant design, it charges quickly boasting 15W of charging speeds to your connected iPhone. It’s also a sturdy and heavy charger weighing over a pound. Keep in mind, you’ll need to purchase the 20W wall adapter separately, which is a pain considering the stand itself costs over $100.

What to look for in the best MagSafe Chargers

MagSafe chargers do more than wirelessly charge your phone. They can provide utility, versatility, and even help you declutter your workspace. The best MagSafe Chargers often have the ability to charge multiple devices at once. This is great for someone who has an iPhone, Apple Watch , and AirPods. Instead of taking up three wall or surge protector outlets, you can conveniently charge all three devices with a single MagSafe charging stand.

And if you’re looking for a MagSafe charger that limits downtime, look for a charger with charging speeds up to 15W. Also, it’s smart to double check whether a fast 15W MagSafe charger comes with a 20W charging block to power the wireless charger. Sometimes, you’ll need to buy that piece separately.

If you’re more concerned about wireless charging on the go, you’ll want to look for a MagSafe charger that can either mount in your car, or is portable enough to take with you. There are options great for tabletops, where you can take full advantage of iOS 17 and iPhone’s StandBy Mode, as well as portable options to charge and view your phone when you’re in the car, or even on an airplane.

There are even MagSafe chargers with an embedded battery, which means you can charge all your gadgets while on-the-go.

How we pick the best MagSafe chargers

When we are considering MagSafe chargers, we account for price, how many devices it can charge, charging speed and portability. We also take into account special features like a pivoting charging head that allows you to change your viewing angles, or if the device comes in multiple color options.

Are these MagSafe chargers compatible with older iPhones?

Yes. MagSafe charging capabilities started with the iPhone 12 series of phones. If you have a MagSafe charger, and an iPhone 12 or newer, you won’t have any compatibility issues.

The best magnetic chargers for your MagSafe iPhone

Making sense of apple’s messy magsafe charging ecosystem, where the first-party options are far from the best..

An illustration of repeating magnetic charging pucks and magnetic power banks, tiled across a dark blue background with a subtle lightning bolt pattern.

Wireless charging is inefficient in many ways. It charges your phone more slowly than using a cable, uses more energy, and requires near-perfect alignment on a charging pad to even work. But inefficiencies aside, it’s just so dang convenient. So when Apple added a ring of magnets to the iPhone 12 and dubbed it “MagSafe,” things got much more interesting. Not only do the magnets guarantee perfect alignment every time but also, with a MagSafe-certified charger, your iPhone can charge at up to 15W — double the 7.5W they get with other wireless chargers. And the magnets also allow for nifty accessories, like car mounts and detachable card wallets.

Now, the next version of Qi, imaginatively named Qi2, will incorporate a ring of magnets around the charging coil, similar to MagSafe. It should enable wireless charging at up to 15W, even on iPhones, without official MagSafe certification . However, there are no Qi2-certified devices yet — even Apple’s website lists “future Qi2 support” for the iPhone 15 — and we don’t expect any before November. So while Apple’s wireless charging ecosystem is still a little messy (even with the iPhone 15 being the fourth generation of MagSafe phones and now featuring USB-C wired charging), perhaps things may get a little easier in the future once we’re fully in the Qi2 era.

In the meantime, it can be confusing to figure out whether a charger is “with MagSafe” (Apple’s phrase meaning real 15W MagSafe) or just compatible with MagSafe (read: a basic Qi charger with magnets slapped on). But the options on offer now — official and otherwise — are mostly pretty good. We’ve found the best MagSafe and MagSafe-compatible wireless chargers for your iPhone. Because once you go magnetic, it just starts to feel pragmatic.

What we’re looking for

Charging speed.

Is it official MagSafe with up to 15W charging or just magnetic Qi with up to 7.5W? For overnight charging, magnetic Qi is fine.

Convenience

Does it include the AC adapter? Is the cable long enough? Can it charge more than one device?

Portability

Does the charger travel easily, or is it more likely to live in one spot and never move?

Is it janky or refined? Does it have clever design elements or bonus features?

Sadly, most MagSafe chargers are kinda pricey. Does this charger offer a better value than most, or at least justify its price?

The best MagSafe charger for most people

An iPhone propped up horizontally by the kickstand of a Belkin MagSafe charger on a table with a prop skeleton sitting in a chair and looking at the phone.

Belkin BoostCharge Pro with MagSafe

Belkin’s BoostCharge Pro with MagSafe supports 15W fast wireless charging with MagSafe-compatible iPhones and has a lengthy 6.6-foot built-in cable. Its 15W charging speeds and little kickstand make the BoostCharge Pro with MagSafe the best all-purpose magnetic charging puck.

Official MagSafe: Yes / Wireless charge output: 15W / Cable length: 6.5ft (2m) / Connector type: USB-C / Warranty: Two years

Belkin’s BoostCharge Pro with MagSafe is around $10 more (at full price) than Apple’s own MagSafe Charger , but it outclasses the Apple puck in nearly every way. It’s the only other magnetic charging puck “with MagSafe,” which means it has the same 15W wireless fast charging as Apple’s charger, instead of being limited to 7.5W. But the BoostCharge Pro has a 6.5-foot (two-meter) braided cable — twice as long as Apple’s — and it includes a fold-out kickstand to prop your iPhone up in landscape orientation for watching or playing stuff as you charge.

Left to right: Belkin BoostCharge Pro with MagSafe; Belkin BoostCharge (7.5W); Courant Mag:1; Anker 313; and Apple MagSafe Charger. Notice how prohibitively short Apple’s cable is.

Since this charger came out, it’s become vanishingly difficult to see why you’d buy Apple’s own MagSafe Charger. Okay, Apple’s charger is sometimes cheaper, about 10mm thinner, and a little sleeker — fine. But it’s also hamstrung by a terribly short cable: at just 3.28ft / 1m, it feels like you’re on a short leash to your wall outlet if you want to use the phone as it charges, and it’s not long enough to reach a wall outlet from any furniture taller than a small nightstand. The Belkin BoostCharge Pro with MagSafe fixes the Apple puck’s biggest issue, and if you want that 15W charging, it makes sense to spend the extra money on the longer cable. (If you don’t need the 15W charging — say, for overnight charging — you can get a magnetic charger with a longer cable for much less money, but more on that in the next section.)

Apple’s MagSafe Charger does go on sale from time to time for around $30 or less — creating a bigger price delta between it and the BoostCharge Pro. But frankly, it’d have to be much cheaper for me to recommend it over this Belkin without slightly gritting my teeth. Make sure you also get a quality 20W USB-C power adapter — neither Belkin nor Apple pucks come with their own.

Best for overnight charging

Anker 313 Magnetic Wireless Charger

This Anker magnetic charging puck has a five-foot USB-C cable and wirelessly charges an iPhone at up to 7.5W.

Official MagSafe: No / Wireless charge output: 7.5W / Cable length: 5ft (1.5m) / Connector type: USB-C / Warranty: 18 months

best magsafe travel charger

Belkin BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless charger (with power supply)

Belkin’s BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless charging puck can charge a MagSafe-compatible iPhone at a respectable 7.5W speed. Its lengthy USB-C cable also ensures you’ll have enough slack to use your phone while charging.

Official MagSafe: No / Wireless charge output: 7.5W / Cable length: 6ft (1.8m) / Connector type: USB-C / Warranty: Two years

You don’t need to pay the extra money for a MagSafe-certified charger if you mostly charge overnight. Unless you’re getting a dangerously low amount of sleep every night, your phone is going to be topped off by morning regardless of which charger you use. In fact, even if you use a 15W MagSafe charger for overnight charging, your iPhone will automatically slow its charge speed to finish charging a little bit before you need it.

So unless you plan to use the same charger for both quick top-ups and overnight charging, you can save money by buying either the Anker 313 Magnetic Wireless Charger or the standard Belkin BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless charger . These non-MagSafe magnetic chargers charge iPhones at the same 7.5W rate as any other Qi wireless charger, and they both work just fine. The Belkin has a six-foot cable, but the Anker has a slightly thinner charging pad and its five-foot wire is adequate for most situations.

If you primarily charge your phone overnight, save your money

What makes both of these exceptional is their value: you can pick up either puck for under $25 with a 20W USB-C power adapter or about $15 without one. They’re affordable enough that you can justify one (or more) even if you also own a fancier MagSafe charger for when you actually need the speed.

Anker’s basic 313 charger is a very affordable way to get the job done for overnight magnetic wireless charging.

You’ll thank me when you can pick up your phone from your bedside table for your nightly doomscrolling without yanking the cable out of the wall. (Wait, I mean your in-bed guided meditation and breathing exercises.)

The best MagSafe charger for travel

Mophie 3-in-1 Travel Charger with MagSafe

Mophie’s 3-in-1 Travel Charger with MagSafe unfolds to wirelessly charge a MagSafe-compatible iPhone, an Apple Watch charger, and a pair of AirPods all at the same time. It comes with a 30W power adapter, USB-C to USB-C cable, and a fabric travel pouch.

Official MagSafe: Yes / Wireless charge output: 15W / Apple Watch fast charging: No / Cable length: 3.5ft (1.07m) / Connector type: USB-C / Warranty: Two years

Any charger can travel, but that doesn’t mean it travels well . The Mophie 3-in-1 Travel Charger with MagSafe opens like a trifold wallet to charge your phone, Apple Watch, and AirPods all at once. It’s pricey at $149.95, but it’s an all-in-one travel solution: its folding multicharger pad, 30W power adapter, and USB-C cable all pack into a soft fabric carrying case.

Mophie’s 3-in-1 Travel Charger is a great all-in-one package for frequent flyers.

It’s hard to overstate how handy this Mophie charger is if you travel with any frequency. I’m the type that stresses endlessly when packing for a big trip, and knowing I had all my charging essentials in this little gray satchel gave me a small sense of calm — like having a fully prepacked toiletry bag.

And since this charger actually supports MagSafe charging speeds, it’s good for quick top-ups when you’re only back at your hotel for a short break. You can also squeeze a short USB-C to Lightning cable into the carrying case with the other accessories so you always have slightly faster 20W wired charging on reserve in an emergency.

Mophie’s 3-in-1 Travel Charger when folded may be thicker than Apple’s MagSafe Duo, but when unfolded, it charges an extra device.

While Apple’s MagSafe Duo charger takes up even less space in your travel bag — it’s about half as thick as the Mophie — it only charges up to two devices at once. The $129 Duo also costs about the same or more once you factor in a 20W USB-C power adapter and carrying case, both of which the Mophie package covers.

If you don’t need simultaneous AirPods charging, the $99 Zens 2-in-1 MagSafe + Watch travel charger is a better buy than the MagSafe Duo. The Zens is a smallish folding charger that supports full 15W MagSafe on one side, charges an Apple Watch on the other, and has the added bonus of functioning as a little kickstand for your phone. I much prefer the Zens to the Apple Duo, unless you really prefer the way the Duo arranges your phone and watch side by side.

My only gripe with the Mophie 3-in-1 and Zens 2-in-1 travel chargers, aside from their high prices, is that, like Apple’s MagSafe Duo, they lift up from a table as you disconnect your phone — so you have to hold it down with another finger as you pull away from the magnets. That’s far from a deal-breaker, but be wary that trying to snooze an early alarm while severely jet-lagged could send your AirPods and Apple Watch crashing down to a hotel room floor.

The best MagSafe 3-in-1 stand for home

The black version of Belkin’s BoostCharge Pro with MagSafe sitting on a cluttered desk.

Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe

Belkin’s triple charging stand achieves 15W MagSafe wireless iPhone charging speeds and keeps your phone and Apple Watch elevated for easy reading.

Official MagSafe: Yes / Wireless charge output: 15W / Apple Watch fast charging: Yes, on 2022 revised model / Cable length: 4.8ft (1.47m) / Connector type: barrel (AC adapter) / Warranty: Two years

Belkin’s BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 MagSafe charging stand is another pricey solution for charging your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods all at once. But what makes this quirky modern art-like magnetic tree especially good is its MagSafe 15W charging, Apple Watch fast-charge support (for the Series 7, Series 8, and Ultra), and the fact that it puts your phone and watch at a readable level on a desk or table — which is ideal for iOS 17’s StandBy mode , turning your phone into a small smart display with on-screen info like a nifty clock / calendar widget.

In fact, the spacing of the phone and watch above the bottom 5W Qi pad means you can fit a whole other phone down there — making this stand especially good if you have a mixed iPhone / Android household and want to share a little of the wireless charging love.

Belkin’s BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger charging a phone, an Apple smartwatch, and a pair of AirPods on a desk.

The Belkin tree is built solidly, with enough weight to prevent your phone or watch from tugging or toppling the whole thing over when removing them. My biggest gripes with it are the high price of $149.99 and the fact that its traditional 12V AC adapter with built-in cable seems larger than it needs to be compared to much smaller USB-C power adapters used by other chargers. Though, since you’re most likely planting this tree in one spot of your home and not moving around with it, the wall wart is mostly forgivable.

The most versatile MagSafe multicharger for home and travel

best magsafe travel charger

Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe

Anker’s cube-shaped triple charger is very compact but achieves 15W MagSafe charging speeds with compatible iPhones. It can also simultaneously charge an Apple Watch and a set of AirPods.

Official MagSafe: Yes / Wireless charge output: 15W / Apple Watch fast charging: Yes / Cable length: 5ft (1.5m) / Connector type: USB-C / Warranty: 18 months

Anker’s 3-in-1 Cube is its first to support proper 15W MagSafe charging (not simply magnetic Qi), and its nifty compact design makes it an excellent jack-of-all-trades for both home and travel use. It charges your phone in an angled position, with just enough space behind it to wirelessly charge your AirPods, plus a slide-out side drawer for your Apple Watch. I’m happy to see that Anker took the tilt-top design of its cute little soda can 623 MagGo 2-in-1 charger and turned it into an even better 3-in-1. Sadly, in addition to being more angular and much less adorable, it got much more expensive in the process; it costs $149.95 and is only available from Apple or directly from Anker . That means the Cube may not get the frequent discounts we see on Anker products at Amazon or elsewhere.

Technically, it’s a rectangular prism, not a cube

The price is a bit alarming, but $149.99 seems to be the going rate for MagSafe 3-in-1s. It comes with a 30W USB-C power adapter, and its pop-out Apple Watch charger supports fast charging on compatible models. The charger itself is about the size of a Rubik’s Cube, though it’s slightly taller than it is wide or deep. (Yes, I regret to inform any of you sticklers that the Cube is technically a rectangular prism, not a cube.) Mathematics heresy aside, it feels about as compact as this design can be.

You can’t get much smaller than Anker’s 3-in-1 Cube for charging an iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch with one device.

The Anker isn’t quite as good for travel as the fold-up Mophie 3-in-1, and the Belkin tree thing is a better 3-in-1 for home use if you like that elevated height and versatile second Qi spot. But Anker’s Cube is the second-best MagSafe multicharger for home use and travel, which makes it the most versatile option if you travel occasionally and want a single 3-in-1 charger that does it all.

The best MagSafe-compatible battery pack

Anker’s 621 Magnetic Battery (MagGo) holding up an iPhone with its kickstand on a desk.

Anker 622 Magnetic Battery (MagGo)

A portable power bank with magnetic wireless Qi charging, a convenient folding kickstand, and a USB-C port for wired charging. The original model has its USB-C port on the bottom, while a revised version has it on the side to allow passthrough wireless charging while the phone is propped up on the stand.

Official MagSafe: No / Wireless charge output: 7.5W / Cell capacity: 19.25Wh (5,000mAh) / Connector type: USB-C / Warranty: 2 years

I tested a whole bunch of magnetic battery packs. They were all fine. The MagSafe-compatible options from Anker , Mophie , and Belkin all worked well enough for standard 7.5W wireless iPhone charging, and you’d probably be a-okay picking whichever one works for your tastes when it comes to price, physical size (some are chonky), and battery capacity. It’s nice to have a battery that clicks onto the back of your phone without worrying about cables.

I recommend Anker’s 622 Magnetic Battery (MagGo) over the others I tested — even Apple’s now discontinued MagSafe Battery Pack — because it strikes the right balance of portability and battery capacity. It’s barely larger than the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack, but its 19.25Wh cell is nearly double the capacity of Apple’s 11.13Wh. It supports passthrough charging while it’s plugged in, and its built-in origami kickstand is a handy addition that doesn’t add much bulk. The fold-out stand is even strong enough to support a hefty Max-sized iPhone in a protective case, and if you get the revised Anker 622 that now features a side-mounted USB-C port, you can do passthrough charging with your phone propped up at an angle on your desk. Lastly, the Anker’s battery comes in some fun colors to match your phone — or at least stand out among your other accessories.

Anker’s 622 MagGo battery is barely bigger than Apple’s own MagSafe Battery Pack (left) and holds much more juice.

Compared to the Anker 622, Apple’s kinda terrible MagSafe Battery Pack has very little going for it. Sure, it’s a little smaller, and its tight iOS integration lets it show its exact battery percentage on your lock screen, which the Anker doesn’t offer. But it’s mostly for top-ups: the meager battery could never fully recharge my iPhone 12 Pro Max that I was testing it with. It doesn’t even charge your phone any faster than the Anker since Apple limits it to 7.5W when on the go. That’s baffling for a $99 battery pack.

If you want true 15W MagSafe charging from a power bank, you can get the Mophie Powerstation 10K stand with MagSafe for $129.95. It’s expensive, awkwardly chonky, and rimmed with cheap-feeling soft-touch rubber that may not age well, but it can reach 15W wireless charging without the assistance of a power plug. Plus, the Mophie’s sturdy metal stand means it could be your desktop charging base that you can fold up and take with you on the go.

Other MagSafe and magnetic chargers worth considering

While the ones above are the best, here are some more options that are still perfectly fine:

  • Apple MagSafe Duo charger : Much like the ill-fated MagSafe Battery Pack, Apple’s MagSafe Duo was discontinued after the iPhone 15 made the switch to USB-C. It was a decent, albeit pricey, two-in-one travel charger for an iPhone and an Apple Watch. But at this point, I only advise getting a Duo if it’s on a significant clearance sale. Otherwise, spend more to get the Mophie 3-in-1 or a little less and get the Zens 2-in-1 .
  • Courant Mag:1 Essentials / Classics : Sometimes having something a little “premium” is just, well, nice. Courant’s magnetic charging pucks don’t get you MagSafe speeds, but for $50 to $80 (discounted to as low as $40) and without a USB-C AC charger, you get a sleek design wrapped in soft linen material or posh leather. It’s totally unnecessary, but if you want your tech to not be an eyesore to your home decor, I think they’re totally justifiable. Plus, the Mag:1 has a lengthy six-foot cable.
  • Courant Mag:2 Essentials / Classics : Courant’s same elevated formula but this time in a 2-in-1 charger for your phone and earbuds. If you’re the type that obsesses over mid-century modern stylings like hairpin legs and Eames chairs, here’s your (non-MagSafe) magnetic charger. It’s even sold at the Herman Miller store — need I say more?
  • Nomad Base One Max and Base One Max 3-in-1 : Speaking of premium, the $150 Nomad Base One Max offers full MagSafe charging support and a built-in Apple Watch charger in a sleek and minimalist metal slab, while the newer 3-in-1 version also accommodates a set of wirelessly charging AirPods for just $20 more. I love these as bedside chargers because they’re so hefty that your phone lifts right off without shifting either base even a millimeter. You could also use one as an improvised weapon against any would-be intruders since they’re nearly two whole pounds of metal! Melee combat preparedness aside, though, if you’re going to spend the money on a fancy-looking Nomad, you should probably just get the 3-in-1.
  • Nomad Stand and Nomad Base : Nomad’s cheaper Stand and Base chargers offer MagSafe-compatible 7.5W charging instead of proper 15W MagSafe like its other models, all for the sake of reaching lower prices of $80 and $70, respectively. Both are well-built with some slick, minimal good looks in all-white and all-black (thankfully no bright-white MagSafe pad to ruin the aesthetics of the latter). And while they may still be a little pricey for single-device chargers, you may find it worth it for the looks.
  • Anker 637 Magnetic Charging Station (MagGo) : Ponder the almighty charging orb and all you can potentially plug into it. The Anker 637 is like a weird amalgamation of a magnetic charging stand and a power strip — it has the magnetic Qi charger, two USB-C ports, four USB-A ports, and three AC ports. The Qi charger and USB ports can output up to about 65W combined; you can charge up to seven devices at the same time (not counting the AC ports) or plug in a lone USB-C cable and get up to 65W of power — enough to power even some smaller MacBook Pros. If you think you can find a good use for the Anker 637 in your space, just buy it. It’s super handy and there’s nothing else quite like it. Then email me and teach me the ways of your cable management skills because I always end up turning this thing into a spaghetti monster of cords.
  • Anker 623 2-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charger (MagGo) : This charger’s real name is terrible, so you should just call it the soda can. As mentioned above, Anker’s soda can is like the precursor to its excellent new 3-in-1 Cube, but it’s much cheaper and does a fine job charging your phone at 7.5W alongside a set of earbuds. Just keep in mind that, if you use it on your bedside table, it will briefly light up your dark room with an obnoxious LED when you put your phone on it to charge.

Other chargers tested include the Nomad Stand One , Twelve South HiRise 3 , Mophie Snap Plus Wireless Charger with 3-in-1 Wireless Stand for MagSafe Charger , and various Mophie Snap Plus Juice Pack power banks. These did not make the cut for various reasons, and the recommendations above present better alternatives.

The best MagSafe chargers for iPhones in 2024

best magsafe travel charger

The best MagSafe chargers are Apple-certified devices that allow you to wirelessly fast charge a compatible iPhone and, in some cases, simultaneously charge multiple other devices. In choosing a charger, there are various factors to consider, including its durability, your intended use case, and whether the charger is officially "Made for MagSafe."

Here, we've compiled our favorite MagSafe chargers from Apple and MagSafe-compatible models from trusted brands, with options ranging from single charging pads to 4-in-1 charging stands. Among the former, our top pick is the Belkin BoostCharge Pro wireless charging pad with MagSafe , which fast charges compatible iPhones at 15W and includes a built-in kickstand. The Mophie Snap+ wireless charging pad is our preferred budget option in the same category.

Are MagSafe chargers worth it?

MagSafe chargers are worth investing in, as they're a more efficient charging solution than Qi-compatible wireless chargers and allow you to fast charge compatible iPhones up to 15W.

MagSafe chargers use magnets to ensure that your device is perfectly lined up for optimum charging, and they're compatible with any of the best iPhones .

What's the difference between 'Made for MagSafe' and MagSafe-compatible?

"Made for MagSafe" devices are specifically designed, tested, and certified by Apple for MagSafe devices and can deliver 15W when charging compatible iPhones, which include the iPhone 12 series through the iPhone 15 series .

Third-party manufacturers make "MagSafe-compatible" accessories that generally aren't specifically designed for MagSafe devices. While they may support wireless magnetic charging and may still securely attach to your devices, they haven't undergone Apple's certification process. As a result, they typically can only deliver 7.5W when charging.

What should I look for in a MagSafe charger?

When looking for a MagSafe charger, there are a few factors that you should take into account.

If a charger is MagSafe-compatible and not "Made for MagSafe," it will charge your devices slower than the Apple-certified option. However, MagSafe-compatible options aren't bad for budget-conscious people who can tolerate slower charging speeds.

When picking a charger, you also need to consider your most frequent use case. For instance, if you want to charge your phone in your car, one of the best MagSafe car mounts could be the way to go. If you simply need a convenient way to charge your phone at night, see our guide to the best iPhone stands with MagSafe charging .

Regardless of where you'll use a charger, its durability and the strength of its magnetic connection are paramount factors to consider.

The Best MagSafe Accessories for the iPhone

  • Best 3-in-1 MagSafe Charger: Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Charger
  • Best Apple Charger: Apple MagSafe Charger
  • Best MagSafe Battery Pack: Anker MagGo Power Bank
  • Best MagSafe Grip: Urban Armor Gear Magnetic Phone Ring Stand
  • Best MagSafe Car Charger: mophie snap+ Charging Vent Mount

What to Consider

Compatibility.

Save for the entry-level iPhone SE, every new Apple smartphone from the iPhone 12 onwards is MagSafe-ready. This means that you can charge, mount, or use additional snap-on accessories with them, even without a case. MagSafe-compatible cases are widely available for any iPhone that has the feature, so finding one is easy.

Charging Capacity

Whether you are shopping for a desktop or car charger or a portable battery pack, look for products with a maximum charging output of 15 watts. This ensures that you can charge any iPhone reliably and at full speed.

Thankfully, Qi2 — the new wireless charging protocol that arrived alongside the iPhone 15 family allows even battery packs to rapidly charge the latest Apple smartphones. We highly recommend that you keep an eye out for Qi2 support while navigating the MagSafe charger marketplace because it gets you reliable performance for years.

How We Selected

I’ve been testing MagSafe accessories since 2020, so I had hundreds of options to consider. For this guide, I selected products from leading accessory makers that have served me reliably for weeks, months, and even years since 2020. I can personally vouch for the quality and reliability of every pick on this list. These options are from brands that make high-quality products that last a while, and they’re designed with ergonomics, ease of use, style, and convenience in mind.

Apple MagSafe Charger

MagSafe Charger

Since its launch in 2020, the original Apple MagSafe charger has proven its worth with a long track record of excellence and five-star ratings. Its sleek and compact design is matched by its rapid charging capabilities, making it a reliable choice for any compatible iPhone. The same goes for its reasonable price.

Another reason I can’t recommend the Apple MagSafe charger enough is the incredible selection of accessories available for it. From reasonably priced flat or vertical stands to luxurious docks that are a fusion of metal, wood, and genuine leather, there are tons of options for customizing your desk, nightstand, or side table.

Anker MagGo Power Bank

MagGo Power Bank

The Qi2-equipped MagGo power bank by Anker is the best MagSafe battery pack worth your attention, offering fast charging speeds, ample battery capacity, and the added convenience of a built-in viewing stand.

The last-mentioned bit works in portrait and landscape mode, so it’s equally great for scrolling through social media during lunch breaks and watching videos or gaming with an external controller. What’s more, the nifty gadget has a color display for keeping tabs on its charging speed and battery capacity.

Thanks to a 10,000 mAh battery pack, the Anker MagGo can fully charge any iPhone with plenty of power to spare for other essential gadgets. You can order the product in several colors. A cheaper version with a lower-capacity battery and no display is also available.

Urban Armor Gear Magnetic Phone Ring Stand

Magnetic Phone Ring Stand

A MagSafe grip is a must-have for everyone who’s constantly glued to their iPhone. These accessories are particularly handy for big-screen Plus and Max iPhones because they make them easier to use with one hand while on the go.

This Urban Armor Gear offering is our top pick in this product category because of its sleek all-metal design, robust built-in magnets, and unrivaled versatility.

Unlike its competitors, the UAG grip can double as a viewing stand in landscape and portrait mode, with the latter being particularly noteworthy. You can order the cover in black with or without silver accents and titanium.

mophie Qi2 snap+ Magnetic Wireless Charging Vent Mount

Qi2 snap+ Magnetic Wireless Charging Vent Mount

The mophie Snap+ charging vent mount is undeniably the best MagSafe car charger out there. The accessory offers fast charging speeds via support for the Qi2 standard, adjustable viewing angles, and an easy installation—all at an incredibly agreeable price. Unlike most competitors, the Snap+ comes bundled with a speedy car adapter and adhesive cable management clips, so it’s as value-packed as it can be.

We like that the mount attaches to the car’s air vent via a sole hook with adjustable length. Its base has cutouts to allow the air from the vents to flow.

mophie 3-in-1 Travel Charger with MagSafe

3-in-1 Travel Charger with MagSafe

This 3-in-1 MagSafe charger by mophie—a brand that’s synonymous with iPhone backup power for many years—is the best for frequent travelers. The accessory consists of a high-speed MagSafe charging dock, an Apple Watch charger that can switch between flat and nightstand mode, and an additional Qi pad for powering up AirPods or other wireless earbuds.

When not in use, the charger folds neatly into a compact square with a stylish fabric exterior. We like that it comes bundled with a USB-C cable, an adapter, and a recycled fabric pouch for keeping everything in place.

Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand

BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand

Belkin’s BoostCharge Pro is the best MagSafe charging accessory for iPhone owners who also rock an Apple Watch and a set of AirPods (or other wireless earbuds with a wireless-charging-compatible case). It has a timeless, elegant design with a metal arm and a versatile iPhone dock with an adjustable viewing angle. The accessory can hold any compatible iPhone in landscape or portrait mode.

The latest iteration of the 3-in-1 docking station is also uncompromisingly fast and futureproof, thanks to support for the latest Qi2 wireless charging standard. Available in black or white, the product comes with a bundled charging adapter and a two-year warranty.

Peak Design Slim Mobile Wallet

Slim Mobile Wallet

This MagSafe wallet by Peak Design is a favorite of ours for its stylish looks, durable and eco-friendly fabric build, and ample storage capacity. The accessory can fit up to seven cards, so it's among the few MagSafe wallets that can reliably replace a traditional card holder.

The slim mobile wallet has a convenient card cover that doubles as a pull tab. And there are several colors to choose from. Of course, Peak Design also offers iPhone cases that perfectly match the wallet.

Satechi 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand

2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand

This all-new Qi2 wireless charging stand by Satechi is the best for iPhone users who don’t have an Apple Watch or prefer to power it up separately.

The accessory features a magnetic iPhone dock with highly adjustable angles and a pad for charging AirPods or other wireless earbuds in its base. Crafted using high-quality aluminum and vegan leather, it is a perfect match for most Apple gadgets, not just the iPhone.

Because it can fold flat, the Satechi MagSafe charging stand is not only great for home and office use but also an excellent travel accessory. A slightly pricier version of the device with a retractable Apple Watch stand is also available.

Belkin iPhone Camera Mount with MagSafe

iPhone Camera Mount with MagSafe

The Belkin MagSafe camera mount is tailor-made for using the cutting-edge camera of your iPhone as a high-performance webcam on your MacBook via Continuity in macOS . The affordable accessory has a foldable mount for placing it on the top edge of Apple’s notebooks.

When you don’t need to use your iPhone as a webcam, the Belkin mount can double as a reliable MagSafe grip and landscape viewing stand. You can order it in black or white.

10 Best MagSafe Chargers for iPhone, From Standalone Chargers to Charging Stations

Here's your way out of constant cord unraveling.

best magsafe chargers

Our product picks are editor-tested, expert-approved. We may earn a commission through links on our site. Why Trust Us?

FOR THOSE of us who own iPhones with MagSafe technology (only on iPhone 12 or later, except for the 2022 iPhone SE) a MagSafe charger has likely become the easiest way to power up your phone. The fastest way to charge your iPhone is still via lightning cable, but MagSafe chargers will provide steady power and get it to your phone hands-free. Aside from the MagSafe chargers Apple makes, several other tech brands have introduced their own MagSafe chargers with worthy designs and trusted performance.

In terms of what kind of MagSafe chargers are out there, it all starts with a traditional cord and pad design that connects to a wall adapter or laptop. Then there are MagSafe charging stands, trays, and foldout stations. This latter category can be broken down further into an iPhone-only design, a 2-in-1, and a 3-in-1 design, which not only powers your iPhone but also your AirPods and Apple Watch. The last—but not least—to look for is whether the MagSafe charger is MFi certified (made for iPhone) or MagSafe compatible—we speak more on this final detail at the end of this list.

HaloLock for iPhone Wireless Charger Kickstand

Most Innovative MagSafe Charger

Esr halolock for iphone wireless charger kickstand.

To help you sift through the countless MagSafe chargers on the market, we curated our 12 favorite picks for all types of uses. Whether you're looking for a trusted charger to carry in your work bag, or a special stand to power up your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch overnight, there's something in here that will garner your interest. The one takeaway you'll find is MagSafe chargers are much more than just a cord with a pad these days. Ready to see what's out there?

Apple's very own MagSafe charger is a no-brainer pick as the best overall. The charger delivers the max 15W of juice a MagSafe charger can offer and comes in a durable build that lasts much longer than any cheaper third-party model. Sometimes it's worth bypassing an Apple accessory for a third-party brand, but in this case we recommend sticking to the original. Battery power is something you don't want to mess with, and this charger will deliver for you time and time again.

Native Union is constantly putting out iPhone accessories that blend functionality with style. The brand's MagSafe charger is made with a durable built-in fabric-like cord that won't stretch and fall apart like some plastic cords do. Plus the charger comes with a leather piece attachment so you can easily pack it away in your backpack or laptop bag .

While not MFi certfified, the HaloLock charger kickstand is widely trusted by users and is praised for it's unique built-in stand that can be set to portrait or landscape orientation. It's compatible with MagSafe iPhones (12, 13, and 14) and comes with a 5-ft USB-C cable.

Otterbox 2-in-1 Charging Station with MagSafe

2-in-1 Charging Station with MagSafe

If you want a rock-solid charging station, then Otterbox's 2-in-1 station is the move. It's MFi certified by Apple and is capable of charging your AirPods or Apple Watch at the same time as your phone. The best part about the tilting phone pad is the magnet is super strong, so you won't have to worry about your phone sliding off overnight after you fall asleep.

Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand

MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand

Belkin is one of the top brands offering unique MagSafe accessories. This 3-in-1 stand is pretty much the default pick for those who want to charge their iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch at the same time. The price point is hefty, but when you consider the materials and wiring used to get this stand right, it's well worth the investment as opposed to going with a cheaper 3-in-1 stand.

Belkin Magnetic Wireless Car Charger, MagSafe Compatible

Magnetic Wireless Car Charger, MagSafe Compatible

For guys who like their car chargers, this mount from Belkin is MagSafe compatible and holds your phone in a locked-in position. We recommend using with a MagSafe case, as it will help better align your phone with the magnet in the charger when you encounter occasional bumps in the road.

Apple MagSafe Duo

MagSafe Duo

Apple's very own fold-out charger is optimized to charge your MagSafe iPhone, as well as your AirPods and Apple Watch, in the most efficient way possible. It's a little pricey, but we back this charger for the same reasons we back the Apple MagSafe Charger.

UCOMX Nano 3 in 1 Wireless Charger, Magnetic Foldable

Nano 3 in 1 Wireless Charger, Magnetic Foldable

This 3-in-1 foldable charging station is technically not a MagSafe charger, but it does charge your Apple MagSafe capable devices wirelessly. The reason we like the Ucomx folding mat over the few MagSafe-certified foldouts is it's much less expensive than the certified ones. If you need any more assurances it's worth mentioning this charger has over 6,500 five-star Amazon ratings.

Casetify Custom Magnetic Wireless Charger

Custom Magnetic Wireless Charger

We loved Casetify's personalized MagSafe wallet so much that we took the time to check out their wireless charger. It's not MFi certified, but you can charge your MagSafe iPhones on the pad and get steady power. And if you want the best delivery of power, we recommend you bundle it with a Casetify case so that the magnetic disk better aligns with the MagSafe magnet on your phone.

Satechi Trio Wireless Charger With Magnetic Pad

Trio Wireless Charger With Magnetic Pad

Satechi's trio charging mat provides MagSafe-compatible charging to your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch at the same time. The device is similar to the foldable 3-in-1 charger we mentioned earlier, except this one has a stronger (and more stylish design) that looks better for permanent placement on a desk or nightstand.

What Is the Fastest MagSafe Charger?

commerce breaker

If you're looking for speed, you're going to want to look at the delivery of watts. 15W is currently the fastest a MagSafe charger can deliver and is more than enough to give you a quality charge every time. To combat bad quality third-party dupes with low watt levels, Apple actually went and created a MagSafe certification for chargers they deem are up to standards. If you want an Apple-certified MagSafe charger you're going to want to look for either a special "Made for MagSafe" badge or any mention of the charger being MFi certified, which stands for "made for iPhone".

If there's a MagSafe charger you find that doesn't have an MFi certification, don't fret. There are still several quality third-party chargers out there that don't have the special Apple badge but still provide a steady trickle of power. In most cases, third-party chargers don't have as much juice as MFi chargers (typically 7.5W compared to the MFi-approved 15W). So third-party chargers are bound to give you a slower charging speed, but if you're not on a time crunch then it's not a major issue to balk at. There are tons of third-party MagSafe chargers with innovative designs that still get the job done.

How We Selected

As of this year, there are hundreds of MagSafe chargers available on the market. Men's Health editors and writers, including our Gear and Commerce Editor John Thompson, thoroughly researched and tested dozens of the best MagSafe chargers and evaluated their durability, design, and performance. We also considered price points, as some MagSafe chargers provide a better overall value than others, and we considered whether or not each charger has a Made for MagSafe certification from Apple.

A Magnet is one of those things that always remain wondrous. As a kid, I used to chase a broken magnet with its repelling end and pretend it was a cop car chasing a robber. Now, it’s similarly satisfying to slap magnetic accessories to the back of an iPhone . It just clicks into place! No wires, screws, or clamps to deal with. It’s wonderful.

MagSafe is the name of Apple’s accessory system that’s integrated into the iPhone 12 , iPhone 13 , iPhone 14 , and iPhone 15 range . A ring of magnets on the back of the phone (and in MagSafe-enabled cases) lets you attach various magnetic accessories, like a battery pack that recharges the iPhone wirelessly so you don’t need to hold it or carry a cable. We’ve covered protection for your iPhone in our Best iPhone 15 Cases , Best iPhone 14 Cases , and Best iPhone 13 Cases guides, but these are our favorite MagSafe accessories to increase their utility.

Updated October 2023: We’ve added testaccessories from Razer, OtterBox, Speck, and Caseology.

Special offer for Gear readers: Get WIRED for just $5 ($25 off) . This includes unlimited access to WIRED.com , full Gear coverage, and subscriber-only newsletters. Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day.

First, Get a MagSafe Case

If you’re anti-case, you can skip this pick. If you prefer protection (smart!), well then you shouldn't buy just any case for the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, or iPhone 14. A standard case will just weaken the magnetic attachment between the iPhone and the MagSafe accessory. Grab a MagSafe case instead—the official ones from Apple are totally fine, with a reliable ring of magnets inside. The silicone ones will do the job, and Apple has new FineWoven cases made of recycled materials to replace its previous leather cases. They all come in a variety of colors. The buttons remain clicky, the cutouts for the ports are accurate, and the entire bottom edge of the phone is protected too. (Though the silicone one tends to attract dust and lint.) The FineWoven case can scuff up easily and might discolor over time, but we'll have to wait and see how it shapes up.

We have plenty of other recommendations. Read our Best iPhone 15 Cases , Best iPhone 14 Cases , Best iPhone 13 Cases , and Best iPhone 12 Cases guides for more.

Grab a MagSafe Charger

Several brands sell MagSafe wireless chargers nearly identical to Apple's. Here are the models we've tested and like. Note: Most don't include a power adapter, so you'll want one that's at least 20 watts (like this one ).

  • Apple MagSafe Charger for $39 : The official charger will charge your iPhone the fastest (15 watts) because it aligns to a very precise spot that allows for better power transfer. Unfortunately, the 3-foot cable is frustratingly short and makes it tough to use the phone while charging, unless you're right next to an outlet.
  • Sonix Magnetic Link Wireless Charger for $25 : Apple's MagSafe Charger's cord is too short. Sonix remedies this with a cable that's 6.5 feet, making it easier to use the phone while it's charging. It's flat, so it stays put on a desk, and you can choose from an array of fun colors and designs. The downside is that it charges slightly more slowly.
  • Spigen ArcField MagSafe Charger for $27 : Spigen's charger charges at 7.5 watts, which is slower than Apple's official charger, and it does not include a power adapter. The downside? The cable feels very flimsy.
  • Courant Mag:1 Classics for $80 : Despite what Courant says on its website, this charger will recharge your iPhone at 7.5 watts like all the other third-party MagSafe chargers. Still, it's one of the most luxurious models I've tried, with lovely Italian leather mixed with matte aluminum. The braided cord is nice and long too (6 feet!). It's expensive, but if you choose the Mag:1 Essentials version , you can get a nice linen material for $43. It comes with a travel pouch but no charging adapter.
  • Nomad Base One With MagSafe for $100 : Nomad's square wireless charger delivers the maximum 15-watt charging speed possible, but it's not meant to be held up while you use the phone, unlike the chargers above. Still, you get peace of mind with precise alignment, and this weighty charger won't slide around your desk. Nomad includes a USB-C-to-USB-C cable but no power adapter.

Charge All Your Apple Gear

I love this treelike wireless charger. It saves so much space on my desk, and I can recharge the iPhone at the fastest 15-watt charging speed possible, along with an Apple Watch and AirPods. It's a must-have for anyone who has all three of those devices (or any earbuds with wireless charging support). Belkin also has a pad version that adds MagSafe support for AirPods, but it takes up more room, and I much prefer the floating aesthetic. It's like magic! Read our Best 3-in-1 Apple Chargers guide for more recommendations.

★ Alternative: The Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe ($150) is perfect if you want to utilize Apple's new Standby mode in iOS 17 . Put it by your nightstand and place your iPhone in landscape orientation and it will show a clock on the screen, along with weather information. This 3-in-1 lets your iPhone sit front and center with no obstructions, plus it charges it at the max 15 watts. You can flip up the Apple Watch charger or leave it flat, and there's a spot on the back for AirPods (or another phone).

For Long Gaming Sessions

Game a lot on your iPhone? This is a phone cooler that magnetically sticks to the back of your device. Plug it into a power source via the included USB-C cable, flip the switch on, and the fan will roar to life (it's actually fairly quiet). It'll keep your iPhone ice-cool as you game. In my benchmark tests, the iPhone using the cooler delivered 30 percent more stable performance, with higher frame rates over a longer period of time. That makes this a must-have.

You can pair it with the Razer Phone Cooler app to toggle the fan speed settings or turn off the RGB lights, but that's not necessary.

Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2in1 charger

A 2-in-1 Charger

If you want to charge AirPods or any other wireless earbuds with wireless charging support alongside your iPhone at the end of the day, this 2-in-1 has you covered. Belkin’s smart design comes in black or white with a shiny metallic post connecting the MagSafe charging pad to the wide-weighted base. It charges at the maximum 15-watt rate, and you can turn your iPhone sideways for iOS 17’s new StandBy mode , converting it into a bedside alarm clock.

Laptop with Belkin iPhone Mount connected

Use Your iPhone as a Webcam

In 2022, Apple added a feature called Continuity Camera that lets you use your iPhone as a webcam for a MacBook. The process is wireless and simple—you can see instructions on how it operates here —and it supports a variety of video calling apps, from FaceTime to Zoom. The image quality is significantly better than the standard MacBook camera because it uses the rear camera of the iPhone. But holding your phone as you use it as a MacBook webcam is tricky. Enter the Belkin Mount.

This circular silicone puck magnetically sticks to the back of your iPhone and can be used as a phone grip or kickstand. When it's time to use your iPhone as a webcam, there's a section that pops out so you can mount the iPhone on top of a MacBook to get a more natural video-calling experience. You need to keep your screen close to a 90-degree angle, or else the weight of the iPhone will drag the screen back or forward. The mount itself isn't particularly pretty and tends to attract dust and lint, but it's otherwise quite effective at keeping the iPhone where it needs to be. There's also a mount for external displays, in case you want one for your home desk setup.

Anker 622 MagGo MagSafe charging station

Stay Topped Up With a Battery

Why fuss with cables when you have MagSafe? These portable chargers can stick to the back of your iPhone and recharge it wirelessly, and you don't need to carry an extra cable.

Our favorite is the Anker 622. This slim 5,000-mAh power bank will charge your iPhone just once (and will barely recharge an iPhone 14 Pro Max to full), but it's compact and comes with a built-in kickstand to prop up the iPhone in landscape or portrait orientation. You can use the USB-C port on the side to recharge the portable charger or your iPhone if you need to do the job faster. You can also power off the battery if you only want to use the kickstand. Do note that the screen wobbles a little when you use it on the kickstand. We have plenty of other recommendations in our dedicated Best MagSafe Power Banks guide . Check it out!

★ Alternative: If you also want to juice up your Apple Watch, I like OtterBox's 2-in-1 Power Bank With MagSafe ($150) . It's bulky, but you get a 10,000-mAh capacity with a wireless charging stand that can be propped up or laid flat (it fast-charges at 15 watts too). You can keep your iPhone in landscape for Standby mode or in portrait. If you need a faster charge for your devices, you can use the USB-C charging port. The rubber grips at the base prevent it from sliding around too much.

PopSockets PopGrip attached to iPhone

Keep It Safe With a Grip

MagSafe phone grips don't require any adhesives. Just pop ’em magnetically to the back of your iPhone or MagSafe case for added security. You can take them off whenever to recharge the phone wirelessly or use another MagSafe accessory. Talk about hassle-free! That said, magnets are only so strong. Don't hold the phone by the grip alone—a little effort can separate the magnets.

My favorite of all the grips I've tried is the PopSockets MagSafe PopGrip. Snap the elongated oval to the back of your iPhone and push out the grip—voilà, you have an effortless way to hold onto your phone. Like with any other PopSocket, you can swap out the top for another style , and it can even act as a kickstand to keep your iPhone propped up in landscape mode. If the PopGrip speaks to you, it's worth looking at PopSockets' PopCase ($60) , which comes with an integrated grip you can slide off and MagSafe support.

★ Alternative: If you want something a bit more compact, I like Casetify's Snappy Grip Stand ($38) . Like all of Casetify's products, there are practically a million designs to choose from. You can pull out the top part of the puck and it will work as a phone grip. Push this a little toward the center, and it will stay put as a kickstand in any orientation. Neat!

Person's hand attaching Peak Design Universal Bike Mount to handlebars

Mount Your iPhone to Your Bike

With my old bike mount, I had to wrangle rubber straps around my phone to secure it to my handlebars. It took a few minutes! With Peak Design's Universal Bike Mount, the whole process takes a second. And it's more secure than many other MagSafe mounts because it locks the iPhone in place. (You'll need to push a button to unlock it and remove the iPhone, but you can do it with one hand.) After many miles on roads of varying degrees of quality, my iPhone has yet to fall off. The only quirk? You have to use Peak Design's Everyday Case for it to work with the mount. You can attach other MagSafe accessories to the back of the case just fine (and it still supports wireless charging). Nomad also made a Rugged Case ($60) with Peak Design's SlimLink mount if you want more protection.

Peak Design sells other MagSafe gear that works with its own system, from wireless chargers to a tripod mount .

Various Anker MagGo chargers in different colors

Dock Your iPhone at Your Desk

These three Anker MagGo charging docks are seriously great. The Anker 637 desktop charging station is the most useful day-to-day. The front of the orb is where you can stick your iPhone to wirelessly charge it, but on the back are two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, and three AC outlets. It makes managing all those pesky cables under the desk so much easier. Then there's the Anker 623 magnetic wireless charger. This dock looks a bit like a flask, but the top “lid” has a hinge, allowing it to be angled out. That's where you place your iPhone to recharge it wirelessly, and you can adjust the angle so it sits upright. In this position, you can plop your AirPods behind the iPhone to recharge them wirelessly at the same time.

Arguably the most ingenious of the lot is the Anker 633, which is essentially a magnetic wireless charging stand that suspends the iPhone in midair. (You can adjust the viewing angle.) But the attachment point doubles as a 5,000-mAh battery. Just slide it out and take it with you, and you can attach it to your iPhone whenever it's low on juice. No need to remember to recharge the battery pack—slide it back into the dock and it'll take care of that for you! Better yet, the base can also recharge the AirPods Pro wirelessly. Truly smart.

Oval shaped phone mount clipped to the vent inside a car

Rev Up With a Car Mount

Compact and discreet, this vent mount has clingy prongs and a powerful array of magnets to ensure MagSafe-enabled iPhones don't budge an inch, even on bumpy roads. It can wirelessly charge your iPhone at the maximum 15-watt rate. An adjustable ball joint allows you to angle your phone for a better view. The USB-C cable is long and permanently attached, and it comes with a plug-in charger for folks without USB-C ports in their car. We have an option for folks who prefer a dash mount below, but you can find several alternatives in our Best Car Phone Accessories guide .

Device mounted to the dashboard of a car with an arm extending to an ovalshaped pad for mounting a phone

Or a Dash Mount

If your vents are awkward, or you just prefer a dash or windshield mount, this iOttie option has a suction cup. It stays in place well, and the magnets are strong enough to keep your iPhone from violently flying off when you go over a pothole. The telescopic arm combines with a ball joint to give you a wide range of movement to find the ideal position. The 7.5-watt charging rate is disappointing, but I like that the USB-C charging cable is removable, so you can detach and stow it when your iPhone is topped up. The built-in fan also helps to keep the temperature down when the sun is out.

Casetify Snappy Cardholder Stand

Stick a Wallet on the Back

Don't want the bulk of a wallet case? Use a MagSafe wallet! They stick to the back of your iPhone or a MagSafe case so you can carry your transit cards or license. Just know that most of these wallets could get dislodged if you stuff your phone into a particularly tight pocket (and none of them hold more than three cards).

  • Smartish Side Hustle MagSafe Wallet for $30 : Despite the low price, this is one of the easiest MagSafe wallets to use. I could comfortably fit three cards inside. It was easy to push them out thanks to the gap on the side, and I didn't have to take the wallet off the phone. I vigorously shook the wallet and my cards didn't fall out, even if I only had one in there. It comes in an array of styles and they're all made from vegan leather.
  • Caseology Nano Pop MagSafe Kickstand Wallet for $22 : This smart design lets you insert two cards into the main sleeve and one into the inner sleeve once you open the kickstand up. It's easy to push the cards out via the gap in the back or the bottom, and the kickstand function works with both landscape and portrait orientation.
  • Speck ClickLock MagSafe Wallet for $30 : You'll want to pair this with Speck's ClickLock iPhone case to take advantage of the locking mechanism that keeps the wallet on the back of your device more secure than MagSafe alone. You can fit approximately three cards in it, and they won't fly out.
  • Apple FineWoven MagSafe Wallet for $59 : This official one is simple. It has just a single slot that can fit two or three credit cards. It can be difficult to take out a card, but the trick is to remove the wallet and push your cards up via the hole in the back (and snap it back to your phone when done). It works with Apple's Find My app, so you'll get alerts any time you separate it from your phone. This is Apple's new FineWoven material, which is made from recycled materials.
  • ESR Magnetic Wallet HaloLock With Find My for $46 : This is one of the few third-party wallets with Find My support, so if you leave it behind, you can use Apple's app to try to locate it. After six months, the battery has barely lost much charge, so you don't have to recharge it often. Too bad it requires a proprietary cable—you're out of luck if you lose it. I do like that you can use the flap on the back as a grip, and you can fit two cards comfortably.
  • PopWallet+ for MagSafe for $40 : Love PopSockets? Now you can merge one with a wallet. The magnets are surprisingly strong, and it holds around three cards. The cloth dip at the bottom lets you push out your cards instead of prying them out. Like any good PopSocket, you can use the grip whenever you want to keep your iPhone securely in your hand.

Phone charger in a foldable case

Multipurpose Kickstand

This ESR accessory is a MagSafe power bank and wallet. The 5,000 mAh added around 75 percent to my iPhone 14 Pro’s battery, and there is room on the back to slide in a couple of credit cards (or ID). But the best thing about this gadget is that the entire back hinges open to swing through 50 degrees, which allows you to find the perfect angle to prop your iPhone securely in portrait or landscape orientation. We recommend this and several alternatives in our Best MagSafe Power Banks guide .

Headphones and iPhone charging on Satechi 2in1 wireless charger

A Headphone Stand and Wireless Charger

I love multipurpose gadgets. Why waste valuable desk real estate with a simple wireless charger when you can have a combo that does the same and holds your headphones? Satechi's headphone stand looks elegant, and the sturdy rubberized base has no problem carrying my headphones when they're out of use. A spot on the stand holds your cables out of the way, which comes in handy if you use the spare USB-C port on the base to recharge your wireless headphones as they dangle.

The base doubles as a MagSafe charger that will recharge your iPhone at 7.5 watts, and it's managed to magnetically hold everything from the iPhone 13 Pro Max to the iPhone 14 Pro with no trouble. Just know that Satechi doesn't include a power adapter, so you'll need one that can at least hit 18 watts, like this one .

Mophie 3in1 travel charger kit

An Apple Travel Charging Kit

Do you need to spend $150 on a charging solution like this? No. But if price is no object, and you have an Apple Watch, iPhone, and AirPods with a wireless charging case, it's really hard to dislike Mophie's 3-in-1 MagSafe wireless charger. It can juice up your iPhone at the full 15-watt speed, the Apple Watch puck pops up for nightstand mode, and the third spot is for your AirPods with the wireless charging case or AirPods Pro (it's hit or miss whether other wireless earbuds will recharge). The whole thing folds upon itself into a very compact size, and Mophie includes a little felt travel case with a charging cable and adapter. It's a neat solution and is much better than carrying several different cables and chargers.

Moft Snap Phone Tripod

Keep It Steady on a Tripod

There's something about having a product do one thing exceptionally well. If you just want a way to reliably prop up your iPhone in a variety of angles without having to carry anything larger than a wallet, then you might like this Tripod Stand from Moft. The magnets are really strong, and you can practically put your iPhone in any angle. It's simple to use too—there's no big learning curve. It's super lightweight, and because it doesn't double as anything else (like a wallet or battery pack), you don't have to remember to take cards out or recharge it. Just keep it in your bag whenever you need it.

tripod

A Versatile Mini Tripod

Clamping a phone onto a tripod can be annoying. Buttons get pressed, your case might be too thick, or the iPhone just might slip out of your hands in the process. None of that will happen with this MagSafe tripod. The circular mount has magnets embedded, so it takes a second to attach an iPhone to this thing. There are clamps that slide out in case you want additional security (or you want to attach a non-MagSafe iPhone). The bottom half is the classic GorillaPod bendy tripod system you can mold to stay secure pretty much anywhere, and the mount can be removed and attached to most other tripods. Two threads also mean you can hook up video lights or a microphone.

Peak Design Creator Kit

For Serious Content Creators

I used this mount at the Apple event to put the iPhone on my full-size camera tripod. It came in clutch! This Creator Kit uses Peak Design's aforementioned SlimLink mount system, so you'll need a Peak Design mobile case to take advantage. However, this works with so many systems: GoPro mounts, quarter-inch 20 mounts, Peak Design's very own Capture Clip, and Arca tripods. It's super easy to take the phone off the Creator Kit one-handed—just push one of the buttons on the mount.

Moment Filmmaker Cage for iPhone

Lights, Camera, Action!

If you're a budding cinematographer, Moment's Mobile Filmmaker Cage is arguably the best accessory to snag. Your iPhone magnetically sticks to the center mount, and you can add all sorts of other gear to the various cold shoe and attachment points on the cage around—lights, mics, you name it. Then use the cage as a grip! No need to touch your iPhone and cause unnecessary shakes. It's seriously awesome.

Moment has a ton of other MagSafe mounts if you don't need to go all out with the cage—like a Tripod Mount . Moment still sells filters  and excellent mobile lenses if you want more unique photos and videos, but you'll need a Moment case and a drop-in lens mount for them to work.

Oakywood MagSafe Docks

Dress Up Your MagSafe Charger

Apple's MagSafe charger is one of few that charges the iPhone at the fastest speed possible (wirelessly). But if you're tired of it sliding around your bedside table, you can house it in a third-party pad or stand to keep it stable. That makes it harder to use the phone while charging, but if that's no issue, I like these options. Just remember, the wireless charger itself isn't included below; these only work with Apple's official charger .

  • Twelve South Forte for $40 : Slot in your Apple MagSafe Charger and this stand will make it seem like your iPhone is floating. There's room to use your phone in landscape or portrait orientation, and you can tilt it up or down to find the best viewing angle. You can even tilt the charger all the way up so it sits flat, which allows you to wirelessly recharge your AirPods Pro.
  • Nomad MagSafe Mount Stand for $60 : I love the simple and utilitarian design of this all-metal stand. The zinc alloy mount is heavy , and the rubber foot makes it sit securely on a desk. You can place your iPhone on it vertically or horizontally, but my favorite part is how easy it is to take the MagSafe Charger out. If you prefer a pad, Nomad sells one .
  • Grovemade Wood MagSafe Stand for $165 : It's ridiculously expensive, but this wood converter makes Apple's charger look much more fashionable. It's heavy too, so it won't slide around. Just slot the charging pad in, and it'll stay secure via an adhesive surface. You can remove the pad and reattach it, though that requires some force. Grovemade also has a pad .
  • Spigen Mag Fit for $15 : Here's a much more affordable option. It's not as aesthetically pleasing, but the adhesive on the bottom keeps the pad pretty secure on your desk or nightstand, and the charger easily slots into the thermoplastic polyurethane shell. If you have an Apple Watch, I like the Mag Fit Duo ($23) , which has a spot to insert your watch charger.
  • Oakywood MagSafe iPhone Mounts for $80+: These wood and metal mounts ooze luxury. They're attractive and well built, and their great vehicles to house your MagSafe charger (and even your Apple Watch charging puck !). You don't have to use them with the charger either. Oakywood sells a MagSafe Puck ($19) you can insert into these docks, which means no charging capabilities, but you can use it as a way to hold your iPhone near the kitchen as you use it for recipes.

Moft Snap Stand Power Set

MagSafe Accessories to Avoid

These accessories aren't necessarily bad per se, they just have one issue or another that put them a rung below the rest. Hence, you should probably avoid them.

Moft Snap Stand Power Set for $80 : It's a nice-looking battery pack, and it comes with the Moft wallet we recommend above—you can stick the wallet to the back of the battery, which is a nice touch. But the battery capacity is so small! At 3,400 mAh, I couldn't even recharge an iPhone 14 back to 100 from 20 percent. That's too small for what you're paying.

Anker 622 MagSafe Battery With PopSockets for $70 : This 5,000-mAh battery does the job, with LEDs to indicate how much juice is left, and it has a built-in PopSockets grip, meaning you get a firm hold on the phone while the added bulk tops off your phone's battery. The problem? The back of the battery gets abnormally hot—much more than many other battery packs I've tried. That's worrying.

Ohsnap! Snap 3 Pro for $30 : I hate this MagSafe grip. It feels flimsy and cheap, and the center ring constantly comes out of its place when I try to use the kickstand mode, which doesn't work that well. You can do better for this price.

Speck ClickLock StandyGrip for $30 : I wanted to like this kickstand/grip combo, but the kickstand doesn't quite close properly once you use it a few times. Avoid it!

Best MagSafe chargers 2024

The best MagSafe chargers are the ultimate in convenience

MagSafe was introduced with the iPhone 12 and MagSafe accessories like chargers have grown in popularity in the years since. MagSafe chargers are an improvement over regular wireless chargers for several reasons. First of all, they can charge your iPhone or above with 15W of power if used with a 20W or higher wall charger. Secondly, the ring of magnets clicks your iPhone into place, so you know it won't slip off the charger.

The added speed and peace of mind make MagSafe chargers quite appealing, and there are tons to choose from. We've narrowed down some options for you, depending on your situation and your taste. Here are the best MagSafe chargers for you.

Apple MagSafe Charger render

Best overall

The official Apple MagSafe charger is a simple magnetic disk that attaches magnetically to your iPhone to provide 15W of charging power when used together with a 20W charging brick, making it one of the best MagSafe chargers. Predictably, no charging brick is included, so you'll need to buy it separately. The Apple MagSafe charger also has Qi compatibility so you can charge any wireless compatible device with it. However, such devices won't attach magnetically or charge at its maximum speed. That's limited to MagSafe compatible iPhones.

Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charger render

3 chargers in 1

Belkin's MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand doesn't just charge your MagSafe compatible phone. It also works as a charger for your AirPods and Apple Watch, so it's a good all-rounder. Looking pretty stylish, it'll fit on your bedside cabinet or desk well, while consistently charging quickly and efficiently at up to 15W.

OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank with MagSafe

True wireless charging

If you want the option to charge your iPhone and Apple Watch completely wire-free, check out the OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank with MagSafe . Charge it up and take it with you; the 10,000 mAh battery gives you plenty of juice. In our review, we noted that it can be used in different positions, either as a charging pad or a stand. This allows you to use either StandBy mode or Nightstand Mode but not both at the same time. While it's fairly bulky for travel, the fact that it's a battery too makes it worth consideration.

TORRAS 3-in-1 Charging Station render

Cool charger

If you're concerned about overheating, TORRAS 3-in-1 Charging Station is a cool pick. As noted in our review, a fan inside cools your iPhone while it charges vertically or horizontally (so you can use StandBy mode .) It also charges your AirPods and Apple Watch at the same time. The Apple Watch charger can be removed and used separately if you prefer. The entire charger folds up for portability.

KU XIU 3-in-1 Foldable Magnetic Charger render

Super charge on the go

Looking for something that folds up small enough to pop into any tech bag or purse? Check out the KU XIU 3-in-1 Foldable Magnetic Charger. Our reviewer really liked the extremely compact form factor, reasonable price, and ability to charge iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods at once. It comes with the cable and wall charger you'll need, plus a sturdy carrying case. Note that you can use StandBy mode on your iPhone but not Nightstand Mode on your Apple Watch.

Anker Wireless Charger PowerWave Magnetic 2-in-1 Stand

Anker 2-in-1

Ideal for AirPods owners who want to charge their earbuds at the same time as their phone, the Anker PowerWave charges with up to 7.5 watts of power. It's also possible to attach your phone either vertically or horizontally if you want to watch a movie while it charges. You can use StandBy mode, which makes this a great desk or nightstand companion.

Petino 3-in-1 Charging Station for Apple Products render

Fold up magnetic charger

Able to fold up and be far more portable than you'd think, the Petino 3 in 1 Charging Station for Apple will charge your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch all while looking pretty stylish at the same time. Both the MagSafe iPhone charging puck and Apple Watch charging puck can be used in two different positions, flat or standing up. Because the iPhone and Apple Watch charging areas are so far apart, you can easily use StandBy mode and Nightstand Mode at the same time.

ESR MagSafe Car Charger render

Magnetic car charger

Able to grip onto your phone even during bumpy rides, the ESR MagSafe Car Charger offers secure mounting alongside MagSafe charging. You can twist your phone too to use it in either landscape or portrait mode, all while being safely out of your hands. Finally, you can use Apple Maps and not have to worry that your iPhone will be out of power when you arrive at your destination. Pair it with one of the best wireless CarPlay adapters to give your slighter older vehicle a serious upgrade.

UGREEN Magnetic Battery 10,000mAh Battery Pack with Foldable Kickstand

Snap and go

This is similar to Apple's MagSafe Battery Pack , only it's a bit bigger and gives you a whole lot more juice. Battery packs are a travel essential. Since this one just snaps onto the back of your iPhone and stays in place, you can use your iPhone while you charge it. A handy kickstand on the back lets you watch videos on the go or use StandBy mode. The UGREEN 10,000mAh 20W Magnetic Power Bank also has two USB-C charging ports, meaning you can charge up to three devices at once.

Can I use a MagSafe charger for other devices?

Sometimes. If it's a flat charger, like the Apple MagSafe charger, it can also be used as a wireless charger for any Qi-compatible device including older iPhones. However, if it's an upright stand-style MagSafe charger, then simple gravity will prevent it from charging older iPhones or any other devices lacking the MagSafe magnets holding it in place.

The reason we included so many different kinds of options here is because there's no one-size-fits-all solution. If you're just looking for a simple MagSafe charger, Apple's own is a slim, quick, no-frills option. Many of us at iMore that do own an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods prefer to use one of the 3-in-1 chargers. Charging all the devices together in one spot is a major convenience.

The UGREEN Magnetic Battery 10,000mAh Battery Pack with Foldable Kickstand is a travel essential, in case your iPhone runs low on power. You wouldn't want to have your translator/map/wallet/camera run out of power on the go, wouldn't you? Charge up your friends' phones too with the USB-C ports. Plus the kickstand makes it both an airplane and a nightstand companion.

The Best MagSafe Accessories for Your iPhone

Sarah Witman

By Sarah Witman and Nick Guy

It’s not particularly tough to plug a cable into your phone when it’s time to charge, but Apple’s MagSafe system makes that simple process even simpler.

MagSafe uses hidden magnets embedded in the phone to align it with the charging components of compatible accessories. So when you sit down at your desk or settle into bed, you can simply slap your phone onto a MagSafe charger. MagSafe doesn’t do anything you can’t do without magnets, but it does make those things slightly more convenient and foolproof.

There’s a small yet meaningful distinction between Apple-approved, MagSafe-branded accessories and those from other companies that simply take advantage of the iPhone’s magnets. True MagSafe supports wireless charging speeds up to 15 watts, which is the fastest wireless charging speed iPhones can achieve; non-MagSafe magnetic charging accessories are limited to 7.5 watts (the same maximum speed that standard Qi chargers provide). That’s the only functional difference, and we recommend a number of accessories that don’t have Apple’s endorsement but are still great options.

We’ve spent countless hours testing most of the MagSafe-compatible iPhone cases , single-device chargers , multi-device chargers , and power banks you can buy today. These are our picks.

The research

Our favorite iphone cases with magsafe, the best magnetic charger for a single device, the best magnetic charger for multiple devices, the best magnetic power bank.

The best MagSafe charging case for iPhone, Apple's Silicone Case with MagSafe, shown in purple.

Your iPhone should be in a case . And since there are so many good options with MagSafe technology that don’t cost much more than models without it, we think you should choose a MagSafe-compatible case that will allow you to use magnetic accessories just as you would with a bare phone. These cases have magnets matching those embedded in the phone, so you can still connect your device to accessories and charge it wirelessly.

Although we haven’t encountered a single case that’s the best option for everybody, we have found a number we like: Smartish’s Gripmunk with MagSafe is a basic but high-quality case that offers good protection for a low price. The Apple Leather Case with MagSafe is our favorite leather case, even if you don’t use MagSafe. And Smartish’s Gripzilla with MagSafe —which has a design that prevents dings and cracks better than less expensive cases—is our top choice if you want a little more protection from drops.

All of these cases offer protection from scratches, a respectable degree of shock absorption if you drop your phone, and an attractive design—without adding too much bulk. And all of them hide the MagSafe system, so from the outside, you can’t even tell it’s there.

Belkin’s Boost Charge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe Special Edition charging an iPhone while standing

Belkin BoostCharge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe

This wireless charger offers easy magnetic alignment and is as fast as any non-Apple-branded charger we’ve tested.

Buying Options

If you want to charge a single MagSafe-equipped device, such as an iPhone or set of AirPods, the Belkin Boost Charge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe is the best option. Apple makes its own MagSafe Charger , which works perfectly and costs about the same at this writing. But Belkin’s version has a built-in kickstand, so you can easily see incoming notifications, stream a movie, or FaceTime a friend while charging wirelessly. It also has a built-in 6.6-foot cable encased in fabric, and its 15-watt charging speeds are as fast as those of any single-device wireless charger we’ve tested.

If you need a longer cable, we like Native Union’s Snap Magnetic Wireless Charger . Although it lacks a kickstand and costs more than the Apple and Belkin versions, its 10-foot cable is useful if your outlet is across the room.

Belkin’s Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe shown charging an iPhone, an Apple Watch, and Apple AirPods.

Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe

This multi-device charger is the easiest to use and the best-looking of those we’ve tried, and it provides the fastest possible wireless charging speeds for up to three MagSafe devices.

For those who are all in on Apple and own an iPhone, an Apple Watch, and AirPods, we recommend Belkin’s Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe as the best multi-device wireless charging station for your nightstand. This modern-art-style charger provides full-speed power to all three devices, including 15 W charging for the iPhone, and it comes with its own AC wall adapter. Plus, using the charger is as simple as it gets: Just slap your phone against the pad, and the handset floats in place while charging.

If you need to charge only two MagSafe devices, or you want something with a smaller footprint for your desk, we recommend Belkin’s Boost Charge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand . Like the three-in-one version, it comes with a wall adapter and delivers up to 15 W to compatible devices. Having a wireless charger at your desk provides the grab-and-go benefit of not needing to physically unplug your phone to pick it up, and this one lets you top off a second accessory simultaneously.

For travel, we like Apple’s MagSafe Duo Charger . It powers an iPhone and Apple Watch, it’s just as fast as the Belkin, and it folds up to easily fit in a bag. It’s more expensive than most models that charge only two devices at once. And if you add the price of the USB-C power adapter you need, the MagSafe Duo costs about the same as the three-device Belkin Boost Charge Pro. But the added value lies in its convenience and portability.

The ESR 2g505 on the back of an iPhone

ESR Kickstand Wireless Power (HaloLock)

This MagSafe power bank can charge most phones up to three times, and it has a sturdy built-in kickstand. It’s less powerful than many wired chargers, but it can still charge most phones at top speed.

May be out of stock

Although you can use any wired USB power bank to charge your iPhone, with MagSafe you don’t need a cable. Instead, you just slap a magnetic battery pack on the back of your phone and let it charge, albeit at a slower speed than with a wired connection.

If you’re willing to accept that tradeoff, we like the ESR Kickstand Wireless Power Bank (HaloLock) , our pick for the best wireless power bank . This 10,000 mAh power bank has enough capacity to fully charge most phones up to three times, as well as a combined maximum output of 20 W (it offers up to 10 W wireless charging speeds, and up to 20 W charging from the USB-C port when used individually). Plus, it has pass-through charging capabilities, so you can recharge the power bank itself via USB-C while charging a phone or other device wirelessly.

It has a sturdy metal kickstand that works in landscape or portrait orientation, so it can easily double as a desktop phone stand. And it weighs just 7.8 ounces, so it doesn’t add much bulk to a backpack or briefcase.

This Is the Best All-Around MagSafe Charger You Can Buy

Want to charge your iPhone (and maybe an Apple Watch, too) with ease and speed? Here’s your answer.

tech roundup

By Tucker Bowe

Every product is carefully selected by our editors. If you buy from a link, we may earn a commission.  Learn more

If you’re looking for a wireless charger for your new iPhone and you want something a little more “sophisticated” than the MagSafe Charger ($39) , which is the basic MagSafe charger that Apple makes, then I suggest getting the MagSafe Duo. It’s the best MagSafe charger that I’ve tested thus far.

Before going any further, however, there’s something you have to understand about the MagSafe Duo : it’s more expensive than it probably should be. It costs $129, and that price doesn’t come with the necessary 20-watt USB-C wall adapter ($19) that’s needed to fast-charge your new iPhone. That means that the MagSafe is going to cost you $148 all-told.

But I guarantee that if you do go with the MagSafe Duo, you’re not going to regret it.

tech roundup

The MagSafe Duo does what any true MagSafe charger (of which there are surprisingly few) does: it wirelessly charges an iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 at 15 watts, which is twice as fast as any other wireless charger. But it’s unique: it’s the only MagSafe charger that uses a Lightning port, which might not seem like a huge deal, but actually makes it a great alternative to wired charging for anybody wanting to charge their iPhone reasonably fast.

tech roundup

The MagSafe Duo is also ideal for people who have multiple Apple devices. The most recent AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro all support MagSafe charging, meaning they magnetically click into place so you can be more confident in their charging. And it has a separate puck for your Apple Watch, which you can simultaneously charge with your iPhone. Obviously, this means that it makes sense to have an Apple Watch if you want to justify the steep price of the MagSafe Duo.

And finally, the MagSafe Duo has a unique super-foldable design that packs up into a thin wallet-like shape, making it a perfect travel companion. Of course, most of us aren’t traveling as much as we used these days, meaning that the MagSafe Duo is likely to spend most of its days on your desk or nightstand — and that’s actually where I think it excels the best.

tech roundup

This is one of the very few two-in-one watch-and-phone MagSafe chargers that can lie flat. Many of today’s third-party MagSafe chargers, like this Belkin 3-in-1 wireless charger, stand up tall and take up a lot of desk space; meanwhile, I can slide the MagSafe Duo under my monitor to declutter my space. It can even fold up into a sandwich shape, so that it takes up even less space — yet can still wirelessly charge an iPhone. And there’s an aesthetic appeal to it, too; it’s made of softer rubber material which, for whatever reason, I find tactilely appealing.

Yes, I wish that the MagSafe Duo was more affordable. Yes, I wish it came with the necessary wall adapter in the box. And yes, I wish it came in a space gray or black color so that it matched my keyboard, mouse and iPhone. But I’ve had it for over a year and I’ve tried half a dozen alternative MagSafe chargers. And I keep coming back to it.

Tap water in Russia is generally safe to drink, although the quality may vary depending on the location. The quality of the water supply system and the drinking water is regulated by the Russian government, and the water treatment processes include filtration, disinfection, and distribution through a network of pipes.

However, some areas may have issues with water quality due to old pipes, lack of maintenance, or other factors. In general, tap water in larger cities, such as Moscow and St. Petersburg, is safe to drink, although it may have a slight taste or odor due to the chlorine used in the treatment process.

In some rural areas or smaller towns, it is recommended to use bottled water or to boil the tap water before drinking it. Bottled water is widely available in Russia, and it is safe to drink.

If you are unsure about the quality of the tap water in a particular location, it is recommended to use bottled water or a water filtration system to ensure safe drinking water.

We recommend always packing a filtered water bottle when traveling:
