Amazing tour! I had so much fun on this 7 days tour to Yellowstone national park. A very good deal with a reasonable price. They even pick good hotels for us to stay which are very comfortable and clean. Thanks to our hardworking and professional driver and to our tour guide Anthony who guided us all the way! Both of them made sure we complete everything on the itinerary. Always on time. Thanks to Ctour Holiday for this memorable trip. I will recommend to all my friends and coworkers.

Artist Point of Yellowstone National Park

Wow, so the end of the trip was terrible. After dropping people off in Fremont, the driver didn't close the luggage door correctly, and 3 luggages fell onto the road while it was driving. This caused a 2 hour delay while everyone had to identify their luggage and make sure it was present. Finally at the last stop, my mom gets out and THERE IS NO LUGGAGE. Her luggage was somehow lost between Fremont, Oakland, or Union Square. She is beside herself! The tour needs to have better accountability for the luggage

Be wary of a driver named "Tim" as he's an overly aggressive and unsafe driver. We were on the Las Vegas tour on April 16 to Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend.

Our driver "Tim" needs to be admonished for his risky if not reckless driving.

Just finished our 4-day Rocky Mountains tour yesterday Friday September 22, 2023 with our lovely Tour Guide Emily & Driver BuYun Emily has been very warm-hearted, caring, competent, responsible, uplifting, funny, quick-witted, great sense of humor, sensible, etc. Cannot praise Emily enough! My first solo trip, I took Lake Tahoe and Boreal Ski, the pick up was on time, clean minivan, good hotel booking ( stay at Circus circus Reno), good food and restroom stops, driving was very safe even on the snow. The tour guide, Mr. Anthony, took us to two spots at Lake Tahoe, both very beautiful, the entire mountain range and the lake was clearly visible. His time and crowd management was to the point letting me spend satisfactory amount of time with activities. I am really happy with the service and would not mind taking it again.

Thanks Rain (CTour Los Angeles) for the Great experience with CTour! We travelled with our little toddler for the 8 day tour - Oregon, California etc. from and back to Vancouver BC. We are not Chinese and hence don't speak the language. The tour was great overall. However, the driver was a bit rude and impolite. But when Rain tour guide from LA took over from San Francisco, he showed he cared and guided us. He always took a moment, to explain to us in English. He has exceptional "people skills" and made it fun. Thanks Rain - Keep up the good work!

I just came back from a Yellowstone trip with my parents last week. We flew to Salt Lake City and from there starting the trip. The whole trip is very organized and efficient. I can tell the company is a Yellowstone expert, their buses were almost everywhere in Yellowstone. Our tour guide Benson is very knowledgeable, passionate for what he's doing and very considerate to every one of the tour members. All of the tour participants on the car like him. He took us to see almost every important and most famous attractions of Yellowstone. He knew where and how to see the best part of it. We were sooo lucky to see many animals such as a grizzly bear, a young black bear, elks, geese, rabbits, marmots, and a lot of bisons of course. The guide told us it was really rare to see two bears in two days. By the way, the hotel in Salt Lake City is nice and clean, though in West Yellowstone was not that fancy, but considered National Park sustainability, it's way better than I thought. The location is perfect since West Yellowstone is just steps away from west gate of Yellowstone National Park. It saves you a lot of time for driving and instead you will have more time exploring the Yellowstone. This trip is definitely one of the best experiences that we had in a few years.

I booked my tour through Tours4Fun.com. My mom and I did a 7-day tour of Yellowstone National Park starting from San Francisco. Some of the highlights of the tour was Snake River, the many attractions at Yellowstone, Bryce Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Grand Canyon, a night in Vegas, etc. It's a tiring and long bus ride to each attraction, but well worth it!! The tour is catered towards Chinese people, but the guides are fluent in Chinese and English so it was no issue at all. In fact there were several families that didn't speak any Chinese at all, and we didn't feel left out. Antony, our tour guide, is very knowledgeable and was able to answer every question I had. It's clear both he and the bus driver has a lot of experience. I highly recommend this tour and if I ever have the time to do a multi-day tour again, I will be visiting CTour first!

7 days Yellowstone National Park Tour Good day, I just wanna share our experience on this 7 days tour (Yellowstone tour). This is our first time to do a nature kind of tour and i can say that we really enjoyed it. We've been to 7 different states which is a very good deal including the hotels. We finished everything on the itinerary. Very thanks to our driver who is very professional and hardworking, also to our best tour guide Anthony. He is very good on what he is doing, always on time and very professional also. He guided us in every way, even told us how and where is a good spot to take good pictures. He made sure that this tour will run smoothly. And of course both of them made sure we all go home safe. We really had a memorable experience. We'll surely join another tour next time. We had a seven-days trip with CTour Holiday,exploring Grand Canyon, Bryce national park, Monument national park , Antelope X and a couple of more. It's an amazing trip with a lot of very beautiful winter scenes. Due to winter conditions, we didn't go to Lower Antelope as planned. However, we went to Antelope X as an alternative. It still amazed me. In addition, We had a very nice tour guide Anton Wen. He is nice, warm and considerable. A big plus for the trip! My husband and I had a great time.

I hope this will serve as a warning to all travelers. Remember the tour provider name CTour Holiday because you are going to want to avoid that when you travel to the West Coast (they also offer tours in Canada, East Coast, “South Asia”, China). This will recount all of the horrific experiences we had during our 9-day ordeal with them as the tour provider selected by Rakso Travel for our West Coast trip.

1) The tour itself – there were several occasions when we were asked to transfer buses without telling us in advance. Remember we were in a 10-day tour so imagine the amount of luggage we have for this and the effort to transfer instead of settling yourself down for a relaxing tour of the West Coast. Surely someone should be taking care of the luggage, you’d ask. It was our expectation too. But no. We had to lift the luggage out of the buses ourselves and transfer then to the other bus. We do this because we have to make sure our luggage is safe. We don’t do the transfers in bus terminals where there are guards and gates. We do this in the middle of the street, the sidewalks, the parking lots. There were also a lot of changes in the charges so we had to contest them several times which made is the least favourite persons in the tour I think. These kinds of things affect not just your physical but also your mental well-being instead of being relaxed on tour.

2) The tour guides – I didn’t want to bring up race here but I need to indicate that this was a tour with a predominant Chinese population, so our drivers were Chinese, our tour guides were Chinese. To be fair, there was only 1 tour guide that didn’t really deliver out of the 3 that went with us. He’d say a lot of things in Chinese, spend like 10 mins to elaborate on things in Chinese then when he translates to English, he just gives us one sentence. This tour guide was either lazy in his translations or he has a limited English vocabulary. So makes you wonder, if his English vocabulary was limited, why was he assigned to our bus which was 30% non-Chinese? We felt alienated and honestly, discriminated on. The last tour guide we had was the one who showed the most concern for us, her name is Frankie. She was respectful of her passengers and made sure we were all comfortable. Quite a relief from the other 2 guides assigned to us.

3) Food – lunch buffets every time, and since it’s predominantly Chinese, we were taken to Asian buffets. They say it’s because the spread will cater to a broader market. But we’re in the US and there were like 3 dishes in the whole buffet spread that gives you an experience of America. They ask us to pay in advance for the buffet, telling us that there “may not” be other restaurants in the area. When we went to the 1st buffet resto of the tour, there was a Friday’s in front of the restaurant. It’s not as if it’s their first time in the area so why lie?

4) The driver – now is this the crowning glory of my evaluation because this is where my trip becomes memorable but for the wrong reasons. There was another impromptu bus transfer after taking us to a factory outlet in Barstow. First of all, why would you arrange for a transfer of buses AFTER a shopping trip?! Shows a lack of consideration for the customer, no effort to make it easier for us so we’d have lesser number of bags to transfer. But that’s just a small matter compare to what I am about to tell you. So we unload our bags again but since we were combined with an existing set of bus passengers, the luggage compartment was already full. My companion decided to open the last door of the luggage compartment because it was empty and put their bags in. That was when the driver named Bob, came and started raising his voice, barking at us to transfer our bags to the other side of the bus. We were telling him that we could not understand what he was saying but he became more rude, he took the bags and forcibly shoved them inside the luggage compartment. I told him that what he did was not ok and that he should not be shouting at customers. As I turned around to get inside the bus, I heard him say “Sh*t!”. I turned around and told him “Sh*t to you too! You don’t treat customers that way!” That was when he told me “F*ck you!” I promptly responded “F*ck you too!” And while I was walking away he still kept on shouting what a “f*cker” I was. So I responded back in Filipino, “F*cker ka din!” (You’re a f*cker too!). I told the tour guide about the incident and all he said was for me to call the tour company because he couldn’t do anything about it. When I asked for the number, I was surprised that several of my Chinese co-travellers volunteered the contact details of CTour Holiday. Apparently, a lot of them already posted complaints about the tour.

I already filed a complaint to CTour Holiday but they ended up defending the driver. Claiming he knew limited English and that he did help us with the bags. The latter was a lie, of course, and it’s disturbing that his limited knowledge of the English language is down to “sh*t” and “f*ck”. A global tour company should make an effort for all its customer-facing personnel to learn proper English and customer service. Otherwise they shouldn’t be in the service industry at all.

Rakso, the travel agency we used here in the Philippines, say they are also investigating the matter. I sent them the complaint a week ago and so far no feedback. Granted that CTour Holiday is the biggest in the West Coast, there must be an effort to find other ways to serve the customer. CTour Holiday received 1 star in Yelp and in practically every other review online, and still Rakso booked us a tour with them. And the tour is not cheap even, we pay good money so at the very least, we expect some respect when we book a tour.

Needless to say, I will not use Rakso again. When you do use a travel agency, ask who their partners are and research on the reviews. Rakso was highly recommended by our companion so admittedly there was no due diligence on our part and we just trusted they’d arrange the ideal vacation for us. So I say, don’t be too trusting and do your homework.

Couldn’t agree more! We had an extremely extremely terrible experience with my parents. They failed to provide information, were impolite and utterly disrespectful!!

NO ONE here has ever heard of this company. NO ONE here recommended it.

I am certainly not an expert on these "Chinese tours" but the one thing I can tell you is that they are cheap. For whatever reason, some Chinese are okay with taking them in spite of the flaws you've mentioned. I suspect that either Rakso took the lion's share of your money or they were misled into believing that this "Chinese Tour" was worth whatever it was they charged Rakso for your business.

I had an Uber driver recently who told me that he drove for one of these "Chinese Tours". He said that he would be 'on the road' for several days and then home in L.A. for a few. Even during this 'rest period', he drove an Uber, telling me that the the "Chinese Tour" companies don't pay their employees very well.

It is likely that you were steered to the Chinese buffets because the restaurant owners gave money to the driver/tour guide to do so. When employees are not paid well, they think of other ways to make money.

Anyone reading this in the future: do your research well and read all reviews. Cheap is expensive.

My own Chinese family who live here in the US and overseas have taken these tours. Definitely catered to Chinese tourists and cheap and fast paced. Not recommended for folks not in this demographics unless you know what you are getting into and have realistic expectations. My mom steered my cousins from China to one of these over the summer as they have limited driving experience and English skills and were on a budget. It worked out for them as I certainly did not want them driving with that limited skills set for their and others' sake.

Honestly I don't know who are the actually operators for most Chinese tours advertised online. Must be many others. But I do think I have seen their buses around.

A slight tangent, but I remember reading a story within the last year about what distinguishes tourists from mainland China from other tourists. The Chinese tourists had little or no interest in actually touring a site - they just wanted a selfie to show that they had been there, and once they had taken a selfie, it was on to the next site.

Horrible Trip with Seagull (Different names: Seagull, or Seagull Holiday, or CTour Holiday) (海鸥假期提供差到极点的服务)

It is a horrible trip for us with Seagull Holiday. The bus came so later, didn't make up time to tour us. It provides AC broken bus during hot weather. The young lady tour guide doesn't concern travelers' safe and unfair treated us especially for elders. She is a mean and immoral guide who laid us several times and blocked elders getting into the bus in very hot weather near half hour.......I couldn't believe such travel agency still exists in the America.

Tour agency CS Travel's licence suspended by Singapore Tourism Board over complaints

SINGAPORE - Local tour agency CS Travel, which was involved in a group of Singaporean holidaymakers stranded in Europe over the New Year period due to bad weather, has had its licence suspended by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

The suspension lasts from March 18 to April 17.

During this time, CS Travel is not allowed to take on new travel bookings but is still required to carry out its current obligations to existing customers.

In a press release on Tuesday (March 22), STB said that, since 2013, it received a dozen consumer complaints against the tour agency, which were related to CS Travel's "lack of professionalism and poor services provided".

"Complaints received were mainly on the poor service of CS Travel's staff in relation to inadequate handling of customer complaints, tour cancellations, non-notification of material tour changes and delays in providing refunds," said Ms Ong Ling Lee, STB's director of travel agents and tourist guides.

One of the complaints that STB considered involved a group of 14 Singaporean and Malaysian holidaymakers touring with CS Travel last July.

Their trip to Hokkaido in Japan was delayed due to a typhoon and, as a result, they spent three days there instead of the planned six. The travellers claimed that when their flights were disrupted, they were not given the option by CS Travel to cancel their trip.

Another complaint involved 26 Singaporeans travelling with the same agency in Europe who had their flights delayed due to bad weather, leaving them stranded in Germany and Turkey for a few days over the New Year period.

Ms Ruth Lim, public relations director and spokesman for CS Travel, said: "CS Travel is currently serving its month-long suspension over a complaint case that occurred last year. We are still taking tour groups out of Singapore and taking in balance payments from our customers.

"Business is as per normal, the only activity we are unable to do during this period is the taking in of new bookings. We have since improved and would like to assure all that this will not occur again."

In explaining the licence suspension, Ms Ong said that CS Travel had contravened regulations 10 and 11 of the Travel Agents Regulations.

Regulation 10 prohibits false or misleading advertising of tours, while regulation 11 maps out a tour agency's obligations to inform its clients of tour changes and to offer clients the choice to cancel the tour booking with a refund.

The Golden Rules of Retirement Travel

Bonni and Bob Gumport travel regularly in their retirement. Not beholden to one short vacation a year (they average seven big ones), their compounding experience has allowed them to develop a code of rules by which they abide— tips and tricks to use wherever they go. After one too many of the small rooms common in boutique hotels, for example, they’ve cut them out entirely. Also out of the question are walking tours within two days of arrival in a new destination, as they prefer to settle in. Their daughter Lauren describes them as “pros on retiree travel,” but they are not the only ones with advice to give.

There are former museum curators who have learned not to overbook themselves; solo travelers who always learn a little of the local language. Adherence to anyone’s rules will never ensure a vacation free of hiccups, where no flight is ever delayed , every tour is worth the hours put in, and every meal sublime . But learning from others may improve your chances of a good time—even when things inevitably go sideways. We’ve spoken to over 20 retired travelers to hear how their Golden Years have informed the way that they travel. Below, find some of their savviest secrets for better trips.

1. Take a ride on the hop-on, hop-off bus tour

If she’s traveling in a city that offers one of those double-decker hop-on, hop-off sightseeing tours, Denver -based Heidi Burtoni, 65, who goes on multiple trips per year, is definitely stepping aboard. Burtoni says it’s a great way to figure out the rest of her itinerary, get tips from other travelers and the tour guide, and get a feel for the new city. “It’s the first thing I do to get the lay of the land,” says Burtoni. Her previous career in sales means the frequent solo traveler will “talk to anybody,” so these tours also open the door for socializing and making connections.

Know what to skip—“whether that means avoiding tourist traps, the most sweltering hours at fairs, or not putting yourself in danger by flagging a taxi when it's unsafe," says Lynn Zelevansky.

2. Figure out what to avoid

For Paul and Lynn Zelevansky (77 and 76, respectively), travel is less about hitting all the top spots and more about learning where not to go, “whether that means avoiding tourist traps, the most sweltering hours at fairs, or not putting yourself in danger by flagging a taxi when it’s unsafe.” They visit the Venice Biennale in fall, now, rather than at the opening, to avoid the worst of the crushes—it also helps them more effectively skirt the city's infamous pickpockets (Lynn's wallet was stolen on a crowded vaporetto ferry in 2022).

3. BYOTP (Bring Your Own Toilet Paper)

“Toilet paper in Europe is very scratchy … not good for sensitive parts,” says Florida native Karen Butera, an avid pickleball player who often travels with the sport in mind. Whenever overseas, she always travels with her own toilet paper. Butera, 66, is taking her granddaughter to see Taylor Swift in Paris this summer, and, yes, she will be packing TP—creature comforts are even more crucial on the road than they are at home.

4. Don’t overschedule

Packed-to-the-brim itineraries used to be J. Patrice Marandel’s MO, but these days, the former chief curator at Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is more keen on scheduling “plenty of time for the unexpected.” Gone are the nonstop days with planned breakfasts, lunches, and dinners; instead, Marandel, 79, leaves room for the possibility of something unexpected and “exciting.” It often pays off.

5. Pack light

Buffalo, New York-based Lisa LaLonde, 74, and her travel companion Antoinette Judelsohn, 70, whom she’s been traveling with for over a decade, are pros at packing light . The pals can manage for a month on very little, relying on the versatility of black leggings and black tops, says LaLonde. The trick? Develop a travel uniform, bring just a few versions, and wash undergarments as necessary, says Judelsohn. Big suitcases stuffed to the brim with a ton of different outfits are more of a hassle than a luxury. “They’re a pain in the neck if you’re getting on a train or off a train … or moving from one city to another,” says LaLonde.

“Anybody and their brother with an RV travels on Sunday,” warns Jenelle Jones.

6. Don't get (too) excited

Judelsohn, a former teacher who met LaLonde when they worked together at the same school in Buffalo, has another travel rule that’s served her well: Letting go of expectations. “I never get excited about a trip,” says Judelsohn. Instead, the savvy traveler lets the excitement emerge based on what's in front of her in the moment.

7. Avoid traveling on Sundays

RVer Jenelle Jones, 64, is against traveling on Sundays. As she puts it, “anybody and their brother with an RV travels on Sunday.” Long weekend RVers who have to get back for work on Monday use Sundays to head home, so retired Jones, 64, simply avoids the day altogether. It's also, according to her, the “biggest day to get in an RV wreck”— yet another reason to sit back and relax. You have nowhere you need to be, after all. Take advantage.

8. Learn a few words of the local language

Charlotte Simpson , whose blog Traveling Black Widow documents her travels (100 countries and counting so far), says her number one travel rule is to learn a few key phrases—hello, goodbye, please, thank you—in the dominant language of the places she visits. Simpson says her efforts are always well received. “I just find, inevitably, it sort of stuns people when I even just say good morning.” Simpson, who prefers not to reveal her age, says she gets a lot out of bridging the language gap with just a few words: “It just makes people so friendly and so happy that you took this moment to learn [their language].”

9. Travel slower

When you cram too much into a single trip, “the whole experience just kind of becomes a blur,” say Gillian Batt, 43, and Stephanie Myers, 51, whose blog Our Freedom Years documents their early retirement and subsequent travels. The couple, who hail from Ontario, Canada, say staying in one place for an extended period of time helps them avoid travel burnout, keep costs low, and enjoy the whole experience more. All that rushing around on limited PTO? Well behind them.

For RVers like Norm, keeping things flexible is key.

10. Go your own way

The pandemic crystallized things for Kim Kelly Stamp , 65, and her wife Liz Schick, 62, who left it all behind and decided to travel around the country in a red 21-foot teardrop trailer. They’ve since gotten really good at going with the flow. “We know where we’re going to stay along the way, but we hold that really loosely and give ourselves the opportunity to make something else happen,” explains Stamp. This approach led them to Laurel, Mississippi, where the HGTV show Hometown —of which Stamp and Schick are big fans of, is based. Instead of following a regimented schedule, they followed their passion when the road forked, literally.

11. Keep an open heart and mind

In spite of being seasoned travelers, John and Bev Martin, 60, who started the RetirementTravelers site to share their journey with others, admit they still need to remind themselves that they can’t control everything. “We have to be patient and receptive to the lessons the world is trying to teach,” says the couple. One that keeps coming up? “Retirement is not the time to stop dreaming about new and different routes in life.”

12. Do your research

The Gumports appreciate getting a taste of the local culture wherever they are traveling, and they’re not opposed to tours or experiences that deliver on this front. But Bonni has a few words of advice: “If you’re looking at purchasing something that uses words such as ‘bespoke, artisanal, farm-to-table’ and more fluffy adjectives, make sure these experiences are as authentic as they sound.” Read reviews thoroughly and take the time to research before you buy, advises Bonni. What is a Tag- Along Trip?

Tag-Along allows you to accompany groups on an already planned date and destination. If you are interested in traveling or "tagging along" with one of the groups, please contact us or the group leader directly.

Why should I consider a "Tag-Along" trip?

This is a great way to travel the world with less hassle! One great reason is transportation is already included with our trips with departures from Columbia or a nearby city. Have you ever wanted to go on a cruise but didn't want to drive? Well, now, you don't have to! Just "tag-along", sit back, and relax. Another reason is you receive the same great group rates as the group! By tagging along, you also receive the same perks (e.g. onboard credit or resort bonuses) as the group.   

Who should consider traveling on a "Tag-Along"?

Anyone! Families, smaller groups who may not have enough people to meet group minimums, couples, singles, anyone who likes a deal and doesn't want to worry about the details.

There is a new Multi-tainment Center with 24 bowling lanes and billiards tables and a large arcade center. Great for group parties and events!
