News: Full Cast Announced For Johannes Radebe’s UK Tour House Of Jojo

Johannes Radebe is thrilled to announce the full cast for the brand-new production Johannes Radebe: House of Jojo . TV dance sensation and international champion’s first two sell out UK and Ireland tours were a phenomenal success, so this brand-new theatrical celebration is set to follow suit, with roof-raising music, dazzling costumes and of course world class dance.

The tour will open on the 29th March 2024 and run through to the 2nd June 2024, performing across the UK and playing two special performances with special guest star and Strictly Come Dancing 2023 semi-finalist Annabel Croft at the London Palladium on the 4th May 2024.

The cast of House of Jojo will include dancers Ann Chircop Beck , Shali Bordoni , Kieran Curtin , Jack Dargan , Lowri Evans , Kofi Aidoo-Appiah , Erica Martinelli , Ebby Sama , Charles Tatman and Elle Taylor . Also joining the cast are singers Anthonia Edwards ( 2022 winner of The Voice UK ) & Dalton Harris ( 2018 winner of The X Factor ).

Johannes said “ I’m over the moon with the cast I have joining me on tour with House of Jojo over the coming months. We’ve found an exceptional array of dancers and I know Antonia and Dalton will deliver outstanding vocals. I’m also so excited to announce that my darling Annabel will be my special guest at The London Palladium. Another chance to hold this angel in my arms and at a theatre I’ve been dreaming of performing in since I first started my solo tour a few years ago. “

Born in the township Zamdela Sasolburg, South Africa, Johannes Radebe started dancing when he was seven.  He was fascinated by the discipline and the glamour of Ballroom and Latin.  Over the next 13 years, Johannes competed in local competitions, climbing up the Latin ranks with top honours, and eventually adding Ballroom and other dance styles, such as African Contemporary and Jazz. He became a finalist at national dance competitions and received an invitation to compete internationally in St Petersburg, Russia.

At the age of 21, Johannes left South Africa to work on the internationally renowned Italian cruise liner Costa.  Persistence and experience saw this young, vibrant South African given more responsibilities including choreographing, teaching new dancers, and then eventually being promoted to Dance Captain.  In 2018, he was invited to join the debut season of the international hit show, Dancing With The Stars, in South Africa.

Johannes toured the world in the international dance show Burn The Floor before being headhunted by Strictly Come Dancing.  He moved to the UK to dance on the flagship BBC show.  In his second series, he was partnered with Catherine Tyldesley and danced the first same-sex routine with fellow Strictly star Graziano Di Prima.  In 2020 he danced with actress Caroline Quentin and in 2021, he and his celebrity partner, John Waite, made history by being the first all-male partnership to compete on the show. The pair made it to the final and recently won the British LGBT Award for Media Moment of the Year. In 2022, he was partnered with comedian and actress Ellie Taylor, and made it to the semi-finals in the sixth series with partner Annabel Croft in 2023. His first book Jojo: Finally Home was published on 7 September 2023 and became a Sunday Times best-seller. It was recently announced that South African film company Arrested Industries run by Anthony Kimble, and Oscar nominated Helena Spring Films, have optioned Jojo: Finally Home for a film, with further details to come.

REVIEW: House of JoJo, Johannes Radebe, UK Tour Edinburgh 2024

House of JoJo is the new UK Tour show from Strictly Come Dancing sensation Johannes Radebe .

After seeing Johannes’s Freedom Unleashed production this time last year, I vowed to bag myself a front row seat for his next show.

I did. And it was incredible!

Sitting front and centre at House of JoJo at the Edinburgh Playhouse this weekend was one of the best experiences of my life. The Edinburgh Playhouse is the largest all-seat theatre in the UK and the atmosphere, the love, the sheer joy of every minute of this show is something I will never forget. I didn't know the people either side of me when I took my seat, but by the end, we were hugging and crying together. Johannes's kindness and influence is that special.

House of JoJo is utter bliss from beginning to end. Johannes himself is magnetic , and he has put together a dance spectacular that features some of the finest dancers I have ever seen. My jaw dropped on more than a few occasions. Every one of this dance troupe is exquisite, and they are joined on stage by beautiful singers Anthonia Edwards and () who add yet more variety and quality to the show.

The attention to detail and production values for House of JoJo are exemplary. The set and lighting design by Andrew Exeter is stunning, and the sound levels are perfect. The glittering costumes by Tom Rogers are superb and could be straight off of Strictly Come Dancing. And there are so many of them! This cast have so many quick changes to contend with, especially in Act II. House of JoJo looks like a multi-million pound concert spectacular and the impact on the audience is mesmeric.

What’s so special about Johannes’s shows is that every number means something to him. This isn’t just a random selection of dances: it’s all carefully curated and choreographed from his own life experiences.

To talk about the themes in House of JoJo would spoil it for future audiences; and I don't want to take an ounce of that surprise or fun away from anyone! But I will say that this house is crammed full of incredible humour straight from Johannes's exuberant mind. He's genuinely very funny. Some important and serious messages are showcased too, but it's perfectly balanced and all thoroughly entertaining.

House of JoJo is a spectacular dance show packed with talent, heart and a huge sprinkle of sass and sparkle. The entire cast, crew and production is fabulous and flawless . I left with my heart full and my hand on my credit card ready to book for another venue (or two!).

Give him all the stars in the sky.

Strictly's Johannes Radebe announces new tour on The One Show

Coming in 2024!

Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe has announced a brand new upcoming tour, which he says will include "talent from around the world".

Johannes, who was most recently paired with comedian Ellie Taylor on Strictly , was on The One Show to announce the exciting news and revealed that the tour will happen next year. It follows on from his 2022 debut solo tour Freedom and this year's Freedom Unleashed .

"I am going on tour again next year, in 2024. No rest for the wicked, you can't rest... It's just been incredible. The fact that we're coming back again next year and we've called it House of Jojo , that, for me, it's incredible," Johannes said.

"The past few years have been incredible, so I can't wait to do that again."

Johannes explained that he hasn't choreographed the tour just yet as more talent will be involved, with more artists and dancers telling their stories.

He said: "I've been afforded the opportunity to tell my story for the past two years. Now, I'm in a position to 'house' everybody's stories, if you know what I mean... It's not about me, me, me anymore! Let's include others with it."

Johannes specified that he wants to include talent from all around the world including South Africa, where he grew up, and is currently auditioning dancers from Italy in preparation for the new show.

He also credited Strictly for "giving us, as dancers, such an opportunity to tour".

" House of Jojo tells other people's stories. It will be different. This is something like I've never done before. I say that because I want it to be about other people," Johannes added.

In an Instagram post, he added: "I am thrilled to announce that I am back with a brand new UK tour for 2024 and the doors to the House of Jojo are now OPEN! You are all invited to my glamorous celebration and it's jam packed with dazzling costumes," Johannes wrote.

"Thank you for believing in me and I'm bursting with joy at the opportunity to tour again. Through dancing, singing and open hearts, let's make the world a happy place."

The tour dates will run from March 30 to June 2 in 2024, with further details available on Johannes' website . Tickets for most dates are on sale now, with shows in Bristol, Aylesbury and Liverpool going on sale on Friday, June 9.
