PETER Kay is expected to make his Irish tour a family affair -  using the dates as a chance to visit his Tipperary bolthole.

The 49-year-old comedian , who has been largely absent from the public eye for the last four years, is heading on an arena tour spanning from December to August 2023.

Comedian Peter Kay announced his surprise comeback on Sunday night

It will be his first live tour since 2010, when he scored the Guinness World Record for the biggest-selling run of all time, playing to more than 1.2 million people.

And he’s already ensured that his Irish dates tie in with the school calendar - with two dates in Belfast in February for school mid-term, while his Dublin dates coincide with the Easter holidays.

The dad-of-three previously told how he brings his family to Ireland every time the kids are off school, basing the clan in their Lough Derg, Co Tipperary holiday home.

Appearing on the Late Late Show in 2017, he said of his abode here: “We’ve got an house here. I don’t talk about it because I don’t want it to get robbed.
