Visa applicants, including children, are required to pay a non-refundable, non-transferable visa application fee, sometimes referred to as the MRV fee, before applying for a nonimmigrant visa. The visa application fee must be paid whether a visa is issued or not. The type of visa for which you apply determines the fee amount. This webpage lists visa application fees associated with each nonimmigrant visa type.

Please note that only the application fees for nonimmigrant visas are listed here. Information about other visa fees that are paid directly to the National Visa Center, to the U.S. Embassy, or to the Department of Homeland Security, can be found here .

Payment Information

Although fees are listed in U.S. dollars, payment must be made using local currency. You can pay your fee at any CIMB Niaga branch or via Electronic fund Transfer through your own bank. Not all Indonesia banks can process online EFT. For those banks that do not have Bank of America in their online beneficiary list, applicants can visit the nearest branch of their bank to make an  EFT.

Restrictions

Your visa application fee is non-refundable and you cannot transfer it to another person. All nonimmigrant visa application fee (also known as the MRV fee) payments made on or after October 1, 2022, are valid for 365 days from the date a receipt is issued for payment of the MRV fee.  Applicants must schedule an interview appointment or submit an interview waiver application during this 365-day period.  Please note applicants must only schedule their interview or submit their waiver application within the 365-day period.  There is no requirement the interview must occur during the 365-day period.  All receipts for payment of MRV fees issued before October 1, 2022, were extended until September 30, 2023, and remain valid until this date.

Visa Types and Application Fee Amounts

The application fees are shown below and apply to one visa application. The application fee for the most common nonimmigrant visa types is $185. This includes tourist, business, student and exchange visas. Most petition-based visas, such as work and religious visas, are $205.00. K visas cost $265.00 and the fee amount for E visas is $315.00. The tables below are a more comprehensive list of visa types and fee amounts. Following the tables is a short list of nonimmigrant visas which do not require payment of an application fee.

Blanket L Fees (Fraud Prevention and Detection Fee) The principal applicant of a blanket L petition must pay a Fraud Prevention and Detection fee of US$500.00. The U.S. petitioner pays the Fraud Prevention and Detection Fee for individual L, H-1B, and H-2B petitions when the petition is filed with USCIS.

The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) is an Internet-based system that tracks F, M, and J visa participants (and their family members) from the time they receive their initial documentation (either an I-20 or a DS-2019) until they graduate/leave school or conclude/leave program.

F, M and J visa principal applicants: Check with your U.S. school to make sure your information has been entered into SEVIS. You will need to pay a separate SEVIS fee in addition to the visa application fee. For nonimmigrant students with Form I-20, the SEVIS fee is US$350. For most exchange visitors with Form DS-2019, the SEVIS fee is US$220. Proof of payment is required before your student or exchange visitor visa will be issued. SEVIS Fee Exception

Applicants participating in a U.S. Government sponsored program (programs whose codes begin with G-1, G-2, G-3, G-7) are not required to pay the SEVIS fee.

Reciprocity Fee

Effective June 20, 2023, there will be an additional $195 reciprocity fee for approved F1/F2 student visas. This issuance fee will apply to Indonesian citizens, and is to be paid at the U.S. Embassy Consular Cashier after the consular officer has approved the F1/F2 student visa. The UAE announced fees for 21 services provided by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), which range between Dhs50 and Dhs5,000, including fees for entry visas to the UAE.

Regarding the visit visa, ICP said that the visit visa fee for a single trip is Dhs200 and the issuance fee is Dhs100 for each month, while the visit visa fee for multiple trips is Dhs300 and Dhs200 for each month.

The visit visa can be extended for Dhs600, ICP indicated.

As for a multiple-entry tourist visa for 5 years, it can be obtained for Dhs600. For the entry visa for sailors for a single trip for 7 days, and the entry visa for people of Indian nationality who hold regular passports or holders of green cards issued by the United States and European Union countries, it costs Dhs100 and can be extended in return for Dhs250.

ICP indicated that the entry visa fee for work for obtaining green residency visa and entry visa for residence without work cost Dhs200 while the fees of a transit visa for a single trip (for 96 hours) from sea or air ports exits is Dhs100, and the transit visa fee for a single trip (for 48 hours) from sea exits is Dhs50.

According to the ICP, the entry fee for a golden residency visa for several trips (for 6 months) and its extension is Dhs1,100, while the visa fee for citizens of the GCC nationals and their companions for one trip is Dhs200 and the entry fee for foreign companions of citizens of the GCC nationals for one trip is Dhs150.

The fee for amending the status, according to the ICP, amounted to Dhs500, while the cost of extending or cancelling the entry visa and extending the visa data amounted to Dhs50.

The fees for a new residence permit or the renewal fees, as well as the fees for a new green residence permit or its renewal for a period of 5 years for the investor, partner, and high-level skilled worker, and the fees for new residency without work or its renewal are Dhs200 and Dhs100 as issuance fees for each year.

ICP pointed out that the fees for a new golden residence permit or renewal for a period of 10 years is Dhs1,100 and the cost of cancelling the residence permit is Dhs50, while the fees for exemption from a period of delay outside the UAE of 180 days is Dhs100 and Dhs100 for each month of delay after the expiration of the period.

The fees of the work permit for foreign domestic service workers are Dhs5,000 for each year, while the fees for a temporary work permit are Dhs300 and the issuance fees amount to Dhs200 for each month, while the cost of cancelling the temporary work permit is Dhs100.

According to the Authority, the fees for issuing a new regular passport, replacing a passport, or issuing a family book amounted to 50 dirhams, and the fees for issuing a replacement for a lost or damaged passport amounted to 300 dirhams, and a family book to replace a lost or damaged one was 105 dirhams, and the cost of naturalization was 1,000 dirhams for each incoming individual. In order.

According to the ICP, the fees for renewing the ID card for citizens and nationals of the GCC for all ages is Dhs100 for one person for 5 years, while the cost of issuing or renewing the ID card for citizens for 10 years is Dhs200 and the fees for issuing or renewing the ID card for all ages for residents is Dhs100 per year. The cost of issuing a replacement for ID card for a lost or damaged one for all ages of citizens, nationals of the GCC and residents for the same remaining period is Dhs300.

The fees for amending the basic data of a valid ID card or issuing a new card for the same remaining period is Dhs150, while the fees for issuing or renewing an ID card for all ages for citizens, GCC nationals and residents are Dhs150, ICP indicated.

The financial guarantee for an entry visa for a single visit trip is Dhs1,000, while the guarantee for a visit for several trips is Dhs2,000, and the guarantee for a multiple-entry tourism for a period of 5 years is Dhs3,000. The guarantee for recruitment of a category of helping workers is Dhs2,000 and the guarantee fees for the foreigner’s inclusion in the administrative list of establishments are Dhs2,000, ICP said, adding that the fees for cancelling the guarantor’s residency or the host without cancelling the residency of foreigners brought in with a guarantee of Dhs5,000.

The financial guarantee for bringing an investor’s family is Dhs3,000 for each person, with a maximum of Dhs15,000, while the financial guarantee for the tourist establishment card is Dhs75,000 and subscription to the electronic system amount is Dhs1,000.

Regarding fines, the ICP said that the fine for foreigner’s overstay after cancelling or expiration of his residency is Dhs50 for each day, and the fine for delaying reporting any change or modification in the data within 30 days, or not renewing the ID card after expiration is Dhs20 for each day of delay, with a maximum of Dhs1,000. As for a foreigner who had a child in the UAE, the fine is applied 4 months after the date of birth.

The ICP pointed out that the fine for delaying the renewal of the establishment card within 30 days from its expiry date is Dhs100 for each month of delay, with a maximum of Dhs1,000.

The ICP also imposed a fine of Dhs2,000 for misuse of smart services, a Dhs20,000 fine for issuing entry visas for an establishment with no activity, a Dhs3,000 fine for providing incorrect data, a Dhs100 fine for inaccuracy in typing applications by system users, a Dhs5,000 fine for obstructing the work of the ICP’s employees or not cooperating with them, and a Dhs1,000 fine for changing the establishment’s data without notifying the ICP.

The ICP reportedly imposed a fine of Dhs2,000 in the event of violating the instructions and decisions issued by it and violating the undertakings of the establishment and individuals towards it.

Regarding exemption from fines, the ICP said that 3 categories are exempted from the administrative fine fees related to its services of the ICP, including an individual who left the country and spent more than 3 months outside it, persons whose ID card expired after the date of his departure, and persons whose residency or ID card expired after his deportation by order or decision.

Next year will bring more (digital) paperwork for travel to Europe. Here's what to know.

Visiting Europe will get (slightly) more complicated and expensive for most U.S. travelers next year as new visa requirements take effect.

According to the official travel site of the European Union, visitors from more than 60 countries that are visa-exempt will be required to apply for European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) approval ahead of their trips starting in 2024. ETIAS visas are not physical documents but are electronically linked to the traveler's passport.

U.S. nationals can travel to most E.U. countries without authorization now, but that ease of movement will change with the new law. Meanwhile, visitors from many countries have had to apply for similar approval to travel to the U.S. since 2009. The U.S. Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) process is similar to the ETIAS plan.

Here’s what you need to know:

What is the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS)?

According to E.U. documentation, ETIAS “is an entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals traveling to any of these 30 European countries .”

The government adds that ETIAS approval is intended only for short term stays, up to 90 days in any 180 day period. 

How can you apply for an ETIAS visa?

When the ETIAS requirement begins next year, the E.U. will provide applications through an official website and mobile app.

To apply, travelers will need to provide their passport information or another travel document to which a visa can be affixed.

Parents and legal guardians can apply on behalf of minors in their care.

How long does ETIAS approval last?

ETIAS approval is valid for three years or until the passport it is registered to expire, whichever comes first. 

How much will an ETIAS application cost?

The ETIAS processing fee is set at 7 euros ($7.74), but applicants younger than 18 or older than 70 can apply at no charge.

How long will ETIAS application processing take?

According to the E.U., ETIAS approval should come within minutes for most applicants but can take up to 30 days. The government encourages travelers to apply well in advance of any trip and strongly advises travelers to receive their ETIAS approval before purchasing flights or booking hotel stays.

Can I be denied entry to a country with a valid ETIAS visa?

Yes. According to the E.U., travelers will still be subject to border formalities on arrival, and an ETIAS visa is not a guarantee for entry.

On June 17, 2023, the nonimmigrant visa (NIV) application processing fee for visitor visas for business or tourism (B1/B2s and BCCs), and other non-petition based NIVs such as student and exchange visitor visas (F, M, and J visas), will increase from $160 to $185. The fee for certain petition-based NIVs for temporary workers (H, L, O, P, Q, and R categories) will increase from $190 to $205. The fee for a treaty trader, treaty investor, and treaty applicants in a specialty occupation (nonimmigrant E category) visa will increase from $205 to $315. NIV fees paid prior to June 17, 2023, will remain valid through the expiration date of the fee receipt.

NIV fees are set based on the actual cost of providing NIV services and are determined after conducting a study of the cost of these services. The Department uses an Activity-Based Costing (ABC) methodology to calculate, annually, the cost of providing consular services, including visa services. The fees for most non-petition based NIVs were last updated in 2012, and certain other visa fees were last updated in 2014.

This rule does not change any other fees, including the fee to apply for a waiver of the two-year residency requirement for certain exchange visitors, which remains at $120.

School uniform costs can hit families' pockets hard, especially if you're sending more than one child off to the school gates every morning.

To get the most out of your money, it pays to buy early.

That's why we've run through all the best deals and discounts you can get on school uniform before the new academic year starts in September.

Starting with Aldi , this is the third year in a row the supermarket has frozen the price of its back-to-school bundle at just £5 for ages 4-12.

Customers are able to pick up two polo shirts, one sweatshirt or cardigan and a choice of trousers, skirt or cargo shorts for a fiver.

Several styles of leather school shoes are also available for just £6.99, while cardigans are priced at £1.50.

Aldi also run their Specialbuys deal, with unique products launched in stores every Thursday and Sunday.

As part of the Aldi Specialbuys deal, you will be able to buy a sweatshirt for £1.50, two polo shirts for £1.75, a girl's pleated skirt for £1.75, boys' trousers for £1.75 and boys' cargo shorts for £1.75.

Lidl is price-matching Aldi, offering a full set for those aged 4-12 for £5 in stores only, while stocks last.

Lidl is not only selling school uniforms, but also a range of stationery items, including a two pack of notebooks for £2.99 and a marker set for £1.99.

Marks & Spencer is offering 20% off its new school uniforms to help parents get ready for the school year.

M&S's discount excludes footwear, hosiery, underwear, outerwear, accessories, school bags and lunch boxes.

John Lewis is keeping its school uniform prices frozen for the fourth year running.

The department store also offers parents an online school uniform checklist to help prepare for the start of the new year.

It offers a free shoe-fitting service, while some of its newer school uniform products released in the last three years have not seen a price rise.

John Lewis school uniform buyer Cydney Ball said: "Our customers trust us as the one-stop-shop for all things back to school."

Clarks is keeping its school shoes at 2023 prices and is reducing the price of a third of its new back-to-school collection.

Parents can also get £10 off a pair of children's trainers when they buy kids school shoes in black.

Alongside this, Clarks is offering a "fit guarantee" where if kids outgrow their school shoes within three months of their in-store fitting, they can come and exchange them for a new pair, free of charge.

Customers at Asda can get £5 off when you spend £25 or more and scan a coupon in its app.

However, this offer expires at 11.59pm on 14 July, so you must be quick to take advantage.

Supermarkets have done a better job of keeping shelves stocked as the cost of living crisis recedes.

That's according to the latest annual figures from the Grocer , which show the traditional big four supermarkets (Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons) have a combined availability score of 92.7%, up on last year's 91.4% return.

The biggest improvement came from Tesco. It surged from 91.1% to 94.6%, taking it from joint third place in 2023 to top spot this year.

"We want every customer to have the confidence they can get what they want at Tesco, wherever or however they choose to shop with us," said its chief commercial officer Ashwin Prasad.

"These results reflect the incredible efforts of our teams and supplier partners, working day in, day out to keep products moving, and I feel very proud of what we have achieved."

Asda saw its availability score fall from 91.4% to 90.3%, leaving it in a distant last place among the big four.

Runner-up Sainsbury's, which was crowned grocer of the year last week, saw its availability score rise to 94.1%, an improvement from last year's 92.5%.

Morrisons' availability jumped from 91.1% to 92.5%.

Protesters have fired water guns at tourists in Barcelona as part of mass demonstrations over the number of the visitors to the Spanish city.

People marched down streets and sprayed those who they believed were visiting the city with water.

Guests were also prevented from leaving their hotels when campaigners taped up exits.

Thousands of people were said to have taken part in the rally against mass tourism. 

Tension has been mounting over the rising cost of housing and rents in Spain, and the cost of goods in the shops, with many blaming the trends on increasing tourism.

The Catalan capital received more than 12 million tourists in 2023 and expects more in 2024.

Last week, Spain's government announced a crackdown on short-term and seasonal holiday lettings amid rising anger from locals who feel priced out of the housing market.

Rents rose by an average of 13% in June compared with a year earlier and by 18% in tourist cities such as Barcelona and Madrid, according to the property website Idealista.

Barcelona's mayor, Jaume Collboni, has also announced plans to phase out all short-term lets in the city by 2028.

Potters Resorts has been named the best holiday park in the UK, according to a Which? survey. 

The all-inclusive destination beat household names to the top of the table with a customer score of 87%. 

Pontins came in last place, with the popular Butlin's also placing in the bottom five. 

More than 1,700 people were asked about their experiences at holiday parks in the last two years, with each ranking their stays on 11 criteria including cleanliness, value for money and quality of facilities. 

Which? then calculated an customer score based on overall satisfaction and value for money.

Visitors awarded Potters the full five stars for the variety of free facilities on offer, the quality of facilities, and the quality of the entertainment and communication. 

It was awarded four stars for overall customer service, food and drink, value for money and quality of accommodation.

Pontins, founded in 1946, took last place with a customer score of 56%.

It scored a run of two-star ratings for customer service, quality of accommodation, cleanliness, variety of free facilities, quality of facilities and activities, food and drink and value for money.

Its highest score of three stars was for communication and the quality of entertainment.

Sky News has contacted Pontins for comment.

Longstanding rival Butlin's also found itself in the bottom five, with a customer score of 67%. 

Guests at Butlin's rated customer service two stars, it received three stars in key categories including quality of accommodation and cleanliness, and four for the quality and variety of children's activities and entertainment.

"As the home of entertainment, it's brilliant to see that we're scoring highly when it comes to activities and entertainment," a Butlins spokesperson said.

"It is disappointing to see that some scores are lower but would like to reassure guests that we're investing in these areas to offer a better holiday experience."

Centre Parcs, the most visited holiday park, came in slightly higher at 69%. 

Survey respondents reported spending an average of £76 per person per night, making it the most expensive option not to include food or drinks in the price.

A spokesperson for Center Parcs said: "We are proud of our consistently high guest satisfaction scores and over 60% of guests will go on to make another booking with us. 

"Our guests demand a high-quality experience and each year we invest tens of millions of pounds improving our villages to ensure we meet their expectations."

We'll kick off this morning with a deal that will probably see Britvic changing hands.

The soft drinks maker has agreed to a takeover by Danish brewer Carlsberg. 

The firm, based in Hemel Hempstead, had rejected a bid last month that valued Britvic at £3.1bn.

The agreement - subject to regulatory and shareholder approval - now values Britvic at £3.3bn through 1,315p per share and a special dividend.

Carlsberg also announced that it was to buy UK pub group Marston's out from a joint venture.

It explained that the deals were part of a strategy to create an integrated beer and soft drinks operation in the UK.

Marston's shares were up 12% while those of Britvic were 4% higher.

The FTSE 100 started the week down 0.3%.

There is plenty of focus across the Channel where France is in political turmoil.

The euro was weaker by a tenth of a cent against both the dollar and the pound after the final round of voting in the snap parliamentary election.

It saw the left-wing block claim the most seats with the far-right National Rally, which had been tipped to lead, coming third.

The result leaves a hung parliament in a country with no history of coalition government.

The country's prime minister is set to officially resign today.

The CAC 40, whose banking constituents have suffered particularly badly during the election, fell 0.6% at the open in Paris.

Iceland is searching for up to 250 new sites  for its Food Warehouse stores as part of its nationwide expansion plan.

Crawley, Brighton, Salisbury and Dundee are among the locations already named by the frozen foods specialists as places they'd like to open new stores.

First launched in 2014, Food Warehouse stores are often located in retail parks and are around three times the size of traditional Iceland shops.

Fortnum & Mason has launched a subscription service to deliver refills for tea, biscuits and jams to your front door every month.

The department store is offering three subscriptions, starting with the Tea Post which costs £100 annually and offers customers a year's supply of monthly refills of a choice of tea blends.

It also comes with a customisable initialled china mug, tin and strainer.

The Biscuit Post costs £20 a month and offers refills of the popular Toffolossus, Chocolossus or Gingerlossus biscuits, available on either three-month, six-month or 12-month subscriptions.

The third subscription, called the Teatime Dispatch, offers a selection of both tea and biscuits, as well as a choice of marmalades or jams.

It costs £25 a month, available on either three-month, six-month or 12-month subscriptions.

Cineworld is drawing up plans to axe dozens of British cinemas as part of a radical restructuring that would also include extensive rent cuts.

Sky News has learned the company, which until last year was listed on the London Stock Exchange, is considering closing about a quarter of its roughly-100 British multiplexes.

Cineworld also wants to renegotiate rent agreements at a further 50 sites, with the remaining 25 untouched by the restructuring.

Sources said the proposals were expected to be formally outlined to creditors including landlords in the coming weeks.

Publicans have expressed their outrage at Co-op for a "disgraceful" television advert encouraging people to stay at home to watch the football rather than go to the pub.

The 10-second advert suggests people "stay in with two pizzas and four beers" purchased as part of a deal during EURO 2024 rather than go to the pub where, the advert says, it is "hard to see the screen".

In a letter to Co-op's chief executive Shirine Khoury-Haq, the Campaign for Pubs accused the supermarket of "openly and deliberately undermining pubs and publicans' livelihoods".

It added it was "disgusted, as well as deeply angry" that the advert was targeting pubs at a difficult time for the industry.

Nearly 800 pubs entered insolvency in 2023, the highest number in over a decade.

The letter read: "You and your management team must surely be aware of what a challenging time it is for pubs and publicans, yet here you are, a supposedly ethical business, openly and deliberately undermining pubs and publicans' livelihoods at this difficult time. It frankly beggars' belief.

"At the time when businesses in England should be uniting in support of the national football team, the Co-op has instead cynically and shamelessly sought to attack another important business sector to try to boost your own profits from the tournament."

The Campaign for Pubs has called on the Co-op to pull the advert and apologise for the campaign immediately.

But a Co-op spokesperson told the Money blog: "The 10-second advert is a light-hearted way of highlighting to our members and customers that, if they have made the choice to stay in to watch the football, we have a cracking pizza and beer deal they can purchase to enjoy in their homes, with the sole intention of providing great value on relevant products which customers tell us they want, especially at a time when the cost of living is high."

"I have booked a holiday for 2026 and paid a small deposit. I have an expiring annual travel insurance policy which would cover the booking if I needed to cancel. Is the travel insurance still valid for the booking, if I choose not to reinsure with them?" Mrs B

Daniel Scognamiglio, partner and travel law team lead at Blake Morgan, said it's the policy in place at the time of the cancellation that is relevant...

"If one policy lapses and you then need to cancel a trip without buying other insurance, you will have no cover for the cancellation.

"There are also other factors to consider, such as the specific policy wording, when the policies were bought, and the reasons behind it.

"It is always advisable to have travel insurance as soon as possible after buying a holiday. Often it is better to have an annual policy that provides cover from the date the holiday is bought and while you are away."

Daniel says most travel policies will pay something towards the cost of the holiday if it must be cancelled for a reason that is not your fault. 

He adds: "For example, if you unexpectedly fall ill and are unable to travel. However, it is common for policies not to provide much cover in the event of cancellation. So, it is worth making sure that any cover is for more than the cost of the holiday, in case you do need to cancel.

"It's also important to remember that travel insurance will only cover unexpected events. 

"You must have been unaware of any illness (or other reason to cancel the holiday) before buying the travel insurance policy or booking the holiday."

If you knew you had an illness or were about to go through testing when booking your holiday or taking our insurance, you'd have to declare this when buying the policy, as well as any pre-existing medical conditions, Daniel says.

"If you are aware of a medical condition after buying the insurance but before travel, you must also tell your insurers," he explains.
