Did you know – Culture Trip now does bookable, small-group trips? Pick from authentic, immersive Epic Trips , compact and action-packed Mini Trips and sparkling, expansive Sailing Trips .
The CN Tower
Arguably Toronto’s most famous landmark, the CN Tower is located just a few hundred meters from the harbor front and has been recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers . A visit to the tower is a must for all tourists in the city, either to take some terrifying photos lying on the Glass Floor 342m up, or testing your nerve even further with the attraction’s infamous Edgewalk . After all that excitement, the 360 Restaurant serves multi-award winning food with an incredible view of the city skyline.

Harbourfront Centre
Established as a not-for-profit organization in 1991, Harbourfront Centre is the heart of all cultural happenings across the city. Throughout the year, the center works with over 450 community organizations to plan over 4000 events, ranging from literary festivals to theater and dance performances. On the same site is also the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery , which holds a variety of exciting modern art exhibitions, often focusing on new up-and-coming Canadian artists.
Opening Hours: 1-6pm Tuesday to Thursday, 1-9pm Friday, 10am-9pm Saturday, 10am-6pm Sunday

The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, 231 Queens Way West, Toronto, ON, Canada , +1 416 973 4949
Bluffer’s Park & the Scarborough Bluffs
Situated in Scarborough, Eastern Toronto, Bluffer’s Park is one of the city’s most beautiful sandy beaches. During July and August, there is a supervised area perfect for swimming, with impressive water quality and a relatively shallow depth to cater for swimmers of most abilities. One of the beach’s other most impressive attractions is the Scarborough Bluffs, a 15km white cliff escarpment, rising up to 90km above Lake Ontario’s blue waters.
Boat tour on Lake Ontario
To enjoy a more unusual view of Toronto’s lakeshore, try a boat tour of Lake Ontario. The popular boat cruise operator, Toronto Harbour Tours runs frequent tours of the city’s waterfront and other nearby landmarks like the Toronto Islands. If you’re after something a little different, however, Tallship Cruises Toronto gives you the chance to sail on a 165ft Schooner ship, with a privately chartered crew at your service.

Tallship Cruises Toronto, Great Lakes Schooner Company, 249 Queens Quay West, Toronto, ON, Canada , +1 416 260 6355
The Sunnyside Pavilion
Part of Sunnyside Beach Park , the Sunnyside Pavilion was built over a century ago as a clubhouse for waterfront canoeists. In its modern reincarnation, the pavilion now has become a venue for regular multicultural events, such as music performances and live art showcases. There is also a beautiful beachfront café, which serves casual cuisine and drinks from May to September.
The Sunnyside Pavilion, 1755 Lake Shore Boulevard West, Toronto, ON, Canada , +1 416 531 2233
Air Canada Centre & Roger’s Centre
If you are looking to head to a sports game whilst in the city, Toronto’s lakeshore is home to two of major venues. The Air Canada Centre and Roger’s Centre. Both are currently used as multi-purpose stadiums and home to the city’s most beloved sports teams. At the Air Canada Centre, fans can cheer on the Toronto Maple Leafs at hockey, the Toronto Raptors at basketball or the Toronto Rock at lacrosse. To see a major league baseball, head to the Rogers Centre to support the Toronto Blue Jays or the Toronto Argonauts American Football team.

Roger’s Centre, 1 Blue Jays Way, Toronto, ON, Canada , +1 416 341 3000
Toronto Islands
Technically a little separate from the lakeshore, the Toronto Islands are a group of several small islands located in western Lake Ontario. The Islands are easily accessible by ferry and are home to the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport , as well as many recreation facilities. The many beaches make the islands make a great spot for canoeing, kayaking, cycling and picnicking. Centre Island also houses Centreville , the city’s most popular children’s amusement park.

Centreville, Avenue of the Island, Toronto, ON, Canada , +1 416 203 0405
Waterfront Trail
Another recreation area of the lakeshore is the Waterfront Trail , which runs along the edge of Lake Ontario from Etobicoke in the west to Scarborough in the east. The trail is extremely popular with cyclists, thanks to its mixture of asphalt and off-road surfaces, although it also features a boardwalk for pedestrians. If you are visiting the section of trail at the foot of Lower Spadina Avenue, you should also keep an eye out for the Wavedeck installations, an artistic wooden representation of Lake Ontario’s undulating movement.

Spadina Wavedeck, 401 Queens Way West, Toronto, ON, Canada , +1 416 214 1344
Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
One of Toronto’s attractions most in keeping with its lakeshore location is the Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada . Located just southeast of the CN tower, the aquarium has only been open since October 2013 and is thus the most modern landmark on the city’s waterfront. As well as housing over 16,000 aquatic animals, the attraction also hosts a variety of events, including Friday Night Jazz and Overnight Reef Adventures for children to pitch their sleeping bags right inside North America’s longest underwater viewing tunnel.
Opening Hours: 9am-11pm daily
Museum of Inuit Art
Toronto’s Museum of Inuit Art is the only museum within the southern Canadian provinces to exclusively house Inuit art. Since its establishment in 2007, the museum has held various exhibitions on Canadian cultural foundations, as expressed by the Inuit artistic community. For those with little previous knowledge of Inuit beliefs and creation stories, this is an eye-opening place with a unique collection definitely worth exploring.
Opening Hours: 10am-6pm daily

Fun Things to Do by the Lake in Toronto
9 ways to experience Toronto’s waterfront
Summer is the perfect time to take advantage of the beauty of Toronto’s waterfront and there are many ways to spend some quality time by the lake either by being near it, on it or directly in it. With summer in full swing why not get yourself down to the water to soak up some sun and enjoy the waterfront breezes? Here are nine things to do by the lake in Toronto.
Play Some Beach Volleyball
Get active by the water with some beach volleyball. It’s great exercise, it's social and it allows you to spend time on the sand. Get your beach volleyball fix through Ashbridges Bay Beach Volleyball in the east end, or there are eight beach volleyball courts at Sunnyside Beach Park for playing a game or two in Toronto’s west end.
Go Paddle Boarding
SUP, or stand-up paddle boarding has firmly rooted itself as a popular summer activity in Toronto and it makes for a fun way to experience the lake. It’s become one of my favorite ways to take advantage of warm weather and there are numerous places to do it in the city. You can rent boards or take lessons via Toronto Adventures , Oceah Oceah SUP Girlz and Harbourfront Canoe and Kayak Centre to name a few.
Jump in the Lake
Since you're by the water, why not take a dip? The majority of Toronto’s beaches have good water quality so you shouldn’t have to think twice about donning a swimsuit and jumping in. Some of the best options include Ward’s Island Beach, Marie Curtis Park Beach, Kew-Balmy Beach and Woodbine Beach.
Hang out at Sugar Beach or HTO Park
TripSavvy / Kristjan Veski
You may not be able to swim at Sugar Beach or HTO Park, but they do make for idyllic spots to enjoy Toronto’s waterfront. These two urban parks offer sand beneath your feet as well as comfy Muskoka chairs beneath colorful umbrellas – pink in the case of Sugar Beach and bright yellow in the case of HTO Park.
Kayak or Canoe
If SUP isn’t your preferred way to paddle, you can get onto the water in Toronto via canoe or kayak. As in the case of paddle boarding you can rent or opt for lessons or guided paddles via Toronto Adventures , The Complete Paddler and Harbourfront Canoe and Kayak Centre .
Take a Paddle Boat Ride
Unlike canoeing or kayaking, paddle boating requires very little effort, but a ride still makes for a fun way to be on the water. All it takes is a little peddling and the boats are particularly great for kids. You can do some paddle boating at the Toronto Islands by renting one through the Toronto Islands Boat House, or head to Harbourfront Centre where you can take a ride on Natrel Pond overlooking the waterfront.
Go on a Boat Cruise
One of the most relaxing ways to be on the water in Toronto is by taking a boat cruise, of which there are many options in the city. Some are themed (from beer cruises and dinner cruises to dance-focused cruises) and others just allow you to enjoy the city skyline from the lake. Check out cruises from Mariposa Cruises , Harbour Tours and Jubilee Queen .
Spend Time at Sunnyside Pavilion
Spending time at Sunnyside Pavilion is another great way to take advantage of the beauty of the city’s waterfront. The beautiful art deco building is where you’ll find Sunnyside Cafe, the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat and a drink with beachfront views. In addition to being right by the beach, Sunnyside Pavilion is beside the Martin Goodman Trail and Gus Ryder pool, one of the biggest and best outdoor public pools in the city.
Chill Out on a Lakeside Patio
Nothing says summer like relaxing on a patio, but the best patios in the city come with a view of the water. They’re great for people watching and tend to offer a respite from the heat thanks to breezes off the lake. Some of the best lakeside patios in Toronto include the sprawling space at Amsterdam BrewHouse , Against the Grain Urban Tavern , The Goodman Pub & Kitchen, Eden Trattoria and The Riviera (formerly Rectory Cafe) on Ward’s Island.

Things to do
Almost like an ocean -- that's how enormous Lake Ontario External Link Title seems. One of five North American Great Lakes, the 7,340-square-mile freshwater body is flanked on the southeast by New York State and Toronto , Ontario on the west. It has 712 miles of beautiful shoreline, including offshore islands. One must-see on the shores of Lake Ontario is the unusual Music Garden External Link Title , a venue that's home to free public concerts in summertime on Thursdays and Sundays. A collaboration between landscape designer Julie Moir Messervy and world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma, the lakeside garden portrays, in plants and blooms, the six movements of Bach's Suite No. 1 in G Major for Unaccompanied Cello. You can take a free guided tour from Harbourfront Centre External Link Title or buy the self-guided audio tour and explore on your own. Other favorites are the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre External Link Title for large stadium-style, open air concerts as well as the intimate Echo Beach External Link Title . L unch at the 1922 Art Deco Sunnyside Caf? External Link Title near the Martin Goodman Trail External Link Title is a must and so is watching for the ephemeral, fluttering insects in the flower-filled meadows of Humber Bay Butterfly Habitat External Link Title .
Scarborough Bluffs Park

Budapest Park

Be sure to snap a selfie in front of gravity defying, wooden slat Time Tunnel at waterfront Budapest Park External Link Title . The Tunnel is a symbolic art installation created in 2016 by Hungarian designers in memory of the 1956 anti-Soviet Hungarian Revolution. It's the second such installation in the park after Victor Tolgesy's 1966 work. At the foot of Parkside Drive, tree-filled Budapest Park -- just next to a public pool and swimming beach -- is ideal for picnicking, jogging, or hiking along the Martin Goodman Trail External Link Title . Find a nice spot by the fountain and take in the city skyline.
Ireland Park
A post shared by Ali M (@ali_yyz) External Link Title on May 24, 2016 at 3:31pm PDT
Ireland Park External Link Title tells the story of the 38,000 Irish immigrants who traveled to Canada fleeing the Great Potato Famine in the 1850s in hopes of starting a new life. ?ireann Quay, next to some large abandoned grain silos, houses five bronze sculptures and symbolic artworks on its grassy lawns shaded by large oaks as a reminder. A compelling spot a decade in the making External Link Title , the park's limestone wall of black stones imported from Ireland and etched with names of the deceased commemorates the hundreds who perished in the ship crossings in a stirring tribute. Strikingly beautiful, this work is paired with downtown panoramas, making for the perfect place to reflect and enjoy the quiet.
Leslie Street Spit
A post shared by Jason Leo Bantle (@jasonleobantle) External Link Title on Mar 14, 2017 at 10:57am PDT
At the foot of Leslie Street near downtown, Leslie Street Spit juts three miles into Lake Ontario, a 1,236-acre (manmade) peninsula and portion of Tommy Thompson Park . It's also a former dumping ground that's happily, and pretty much by chance, turned into a biodiverse urban wilderness External Link Title . It's carpeted in wildflower-filled meadows, marshes, beaches, sand dunes, and cottonwood and poplar forest, crisscrossed with blissfully car-free roads and trails, and a solar-powered lighthouse. The spit actually represents Toronto's biggest chunk of waterfront natural habitat. You'll want to rent a bike and cycle here, looking out for stealthy coyotes, shy muskrats, butterflies, and 300 species of birds, including migrating flocks and owls. Hike, rollerblade, or fish here, too.
After you've combed the lake's shores, tack on an Ontario getaway to see more of the countryside .

See the Famous Boldt Castle - A true love story
Millionaire George C. Boldt, proprietor of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, set out to build a full-sized, Rhineland-style castle on Heart Island for his beloved wife Louise. Construction began in 1900 on a six story, 120-room castle, complete with tunnels, a powerhouse, Italian gardens and a children’s playhouse.
The Boldt family spent four glorious summers on the island during construction. Then in 1904 tragedy struck. Upon the unexpected death of his wife, George halted all construction. He never returned to the castle, which remained vacant for 73 years. Day Tours available every Saturday.

Indulgence in Eastern Canada (Small Groups, 8 Days)
This itinerary surprised me. I had been to Toronto before and had enjoyed the falls, the food and the hockey however the surprise to me were the other cities. Ottawa had lots to offer as it was the capital / head of the parliament and the architecture was stunning along with the Fairmont Hotels which become a feature of this itinerary throughout, especially the famous Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City. What I enjoyed the most were the French influences in Quebec City and Montreal, at times much more European than Canadian. The food throughout was superb with many choices so make sure you enjoy the fresh Canadian air and walk lots! thanks Luxury Gold - next stop Japan.

Cultural journeys and expeditions
The mighty Great Lakes have played a vital role in the history and cultural fabric of North America for centuries... explore their storied waters... and unique cities and towns... that have grown along their shores...
See for yourself what small ship cruising is all about, the majesty of niagara falls, experiencing the thunder of niagara falls on the us-canadian border.
North America's most powerful waterfall – and one of its most famous and often-visited natural treasures – Niagara Falls actually comprises three distinctive waterfalls on the Niagara River, perched on the border of Ontario, Canada and New York. Every minute, some six million cubic feet of water plunges over the crests of the Horseshoe, American and Bridal Veil Falls and tumbles down nearly 200 feet into the rocky gorge below into a thundering cauldron of water and mist. Experiencing the raw power of Niagara Falls firsthand is something you'll never forget... and just what you'll do as you first view the falls from a panoramic spot high above... then don a hooded raincoat and board a private boat for an up-close – and very wet – encounter with this iconic "wonder of the natural world."
Traverse the Welland Canal
A marvel of engineering two centuries in the making....
Comprising eight locks that enable ship traffic to travel between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario by bypassing the Niagara River and Niagara Falls, the Welland Canal is a 200-year engineering marvel that actually represents four successive canals. Originally designed and built in the 1820s, a second canal replaced it in the late 1840s, and a third opened in 1887. The construction on the fourth and current Welland Canal – which your ship on "Cruising the Great Lakes" will traverse in about 11 hours, accompanied by an expert guide – began before World War I was not completed until 1932 and expanded some 40 years later.
Mackinac Island, Michigan
Step back in time on michigan's mackinac island.
Vehicle-free Mackinac Island – off the Michigan coast in the Straits of Mackinac connecting Lakes Michigan and Huron – has been a popular retreat since 19th-century industrialists built imposing summer "cottages" here, and remains serenely lost in time. The only way to get around is by foot, bicycle, or horse-drawn carriage, as you make your way past impeccable Victorian mansions and out to the fringes of forest, marshes, beaches and 19th-century Fort Mackinac. The island is home to the palatial Grand Hotel, which lays claim to the longest porch in the world. Since 1887, the Grand has hosted many presidents, as well as the likes of Mark Twain and Thomas Edison (who first demonstrated his phonograph on the hotel's iconic porch).

The Ponant Explorer-Class Ship is registered in France. If you have a medical condition that might limit your participation in activities, please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice and notify us as soon as possible, if you have not already done so. The Ponant Explorer-Class ship has a licensed and registered physician onboard for professional and emergency services, which are available at customary charges. The ship's small infirmary is designed to provide medical care for certain temporary illnesses and accidents, and is not intended to or capable of providing on-going treatment of pre-existing medical conditions.
VACCINATIONS
If you are a resident of the U.S. traveling internationally, no vaccinations are currently required for travel to Canada. For complete vaccination and inoculation information, contact your physician, the public health service in your area, or the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. The Travelers' Health Section of the CDC operates a 24-hour "Travelers' Health Hotline" at 800-232-4636 (toll-free in the U.S.). You may also log on to the CDC website by clicking here .
If you are a resident of another country traveling internationally, please contact an embassy or consulate of each of the countries on the itinerary to determine what vaccinations may be required for you to visit.
You should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances over uneven terrain that may, at times, be uneven, as some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot. Therefore, roads and walkways may present difficulties for some guests with physical disabilities. For the most part, however, the amount of walking you do is at your discretion. Pack sturdy, comfortable walking shoes that have already been broken-in in order to appreciate fully the sometimes challenging terrain.
Onboard ship, health and fitness devotees will find a spa and fitness center on Deck 7.
We regret that we're unable to provide individual assistance to guests with walking difficulties or other personal needs. The responsibility of the Tauck Director who accompanies your trip is to ensure that the larger group enjoys a relaxing and informative journey, and he or she cannot be relied upon to provide ongoing individual assistance to any one guest. Guests requiring such individualized assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied companion who can provide it.
SPECIAL DIETARY REQUESTS
The restaurants, hotels, caterers and numerous other partners we work with all do their best to accommodate special dietary requests from Tauck guests. However, given the diverse nature of those food providers (from small wineries to grand hotels to world-famous restaurants in more than 70 countries worldwide), some of our partners are better able than others to accommodate such requests. We therefore cannot guarantee that all dietary requests can be accommodated at every meal. Also, please note that where dietary requests can be accommodated, choices will frequently be limited. Guests must advise Tauck of any food allergies or special dietary needs at the time of booking.
Smoking is not permitted on the motor coaches or inside the ship, including inside staterooms. Smoking is only permitted on the outer decks in the designated smoking areas. These regulations pertain to e-cigarettes as well.

Imagine Dragons’ sixth studio album LOOM represents the pinnacle of their artistic journey of self-discovery and marks the best body of work they’ve ever made. LOOM , produced entirely by Imagine Dragons and their longtime collaborators Mattman and Robin, finds the perfect balance between the classic sounds that have made them superstars and the freshness that brought them joy in the studio. Featuring 9 brand new tracks including hit single “Eyes Closed”, LOOM signifies new beginnings on the horizon – the excitement for a new day, moments yet to come.
Last year, the members of Imagine Dragons found themselves with a rare and well-deserved break from the road—perhaps their longest in many years. So, they made the most of it by devoting that time to family and friends. Catalyzed by this respite with a refreshed perspective, the band rallied together in the studio and mined the same well of inspiration that fed their most beloved material. The musicians reflected on the past in order to catapult into a future where stylistic boundaries have disappeared entirely and anything is possible creatively. This journey has brought them to their most dynamic and definitive body of work to date, LOOM .
To herald LOOM , the band recently shared their soaring new anthem entitled “Eyes Closed.” Check out the video HERE . The track illuminates their penchant for boundary-breaking. Stretching the limits of the soundscape almost to the breaking point, they harness a burst of energy with a rafter-reaching refrain primed to soar on the upcoming summer tour.
It’s the year of the Dragons …

ABOUT IMAGINE DRAGONS:
Imagine Dragons continue to redefine rock in the 21 st century. Filling stadiums, crafting cloud-rattling anthems, and breaking records at every turn, diamond-certified GRAMMY® Award-winning Las Vegas quartet Imagine Dragons occupy rarified air as one of the biggest rock bands in the world. Tallying cumulative sales of 74 million album equivalents, 65 million digital songs, and over 160 billion streams, they stand out as “the only band in history to earn four RIAA Diamond singles , ” namely “Radioactive” (16x-platinum), “Believer” (13x-platinum), “Thunder” (12x-platinum) and “Demons” (11x-platinum). Since emerging in 2009, they’ve scored five consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 with Night Visions [2012] (7x-platinum) (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope), Smoke+Mirrors [2015] (platinum) (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope), Evolve [2017] (triple-platinum) (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope), Origins [2018] (platinum)(KIDinaKORNER/Interscope), and Mercury – Act 1 [2021]( KIDinaKORNER/Interscope). With the release of Mercury – Act 2 (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope) in 2022, they completed their first double-album opus produced by the legendary Rick Rubin. The hit single “Bones,” featured on Mercury Act 2, went to number one at Alternative Radio and remains in the Global Top 50 on Spotify. The band’s hit collaboration with East Atlanta-based rapper J.I.D, “Enemy,” has racked up billions of global streams and landed at #6 on the IFPI Global Singles Chart for 2022. Dominating radio, they remain one of only four bands to ever achieve consecutive Top 5 singles at Alternative radio, and the only band to repeat this feat. Most recently, Imagine Dragons made history on Spotify, as “Bad Liar” became their 10th song to surpass 1 billion streams. The band now holds the crown for the group with most billion-plus streamed songs, becoming the first in the platform’s history to have ten songs reach this milestone. Meanwhile, Imagine Dragons’ music videos for hits “Thunder” and “Believer” have garnered an astounding 2 billion YouTube views, while videos for “Radioactive” and “Demons” have surpassed over 1 billion views. They’ve collaborated with everyone from Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, and Wiz Khalifa to Avicii and film composer Hans Zimmer. Giving back, they’ve raised millions for various causes, including their pediatric cancer charity the Tyler Robinson Foundation, and frontman Dan Reynolds’ LOVELOUD Foundation and festival in support of LGBTQ+ youth. In 2022, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky named them ambassadors for UNITED 24, which benefits humanitarian aid in Ukraine. Imagine Dragons earned an impressive four nominations for the 2022 American Music Awards including “Favorite Pop Duo or Group,” “Favorite Rock Artist,” “Favorite Rock Album” and “Favorite Rock Song.” The band was also nominated for “Group of 2022” for the 2022 People’s Choice Awards. Most recently, they received an MTV VMA nomination for “Video For Good” for their acclaimed “Crushed” music video.
