The band discussed the upcoming shows in a new interview with Rolling Stone . “We did our comeback tour in 2016, but the focus there was on just breaking the ice so it just felt different,” guitarist and vocalist Charlie Simpson said.

“Now, we’re celebrating something that everyone understands. It feels like this is the tour that would have happened had we never gone away. For a Busted fan, they would be stupid to miss this. If there’s any Busted fan that ever wants to see us again, this is going to be the tour to see… “I look back now and I’m just very pleased that 20 years later we’ve got the chance to do it again and, and we’re lucky to be in that position to be able to have a fan base that are now, you know, still with us. It’s a really fun project and to get people that we love on it, I just think it’s all cool, man,”

Busted announce return with massive UK arena tour and reworks of hit songs to celebrate more than 20 years since debut

busted

It’s official – Busted are back, and they’re bringing new songs and a massive UK tour with them.

The iconic three-piece ruled the airwaves in the early noughties with earworms including Year 3000, Air Hostess and What I Go To School For.

It’s somehow been more than 20 years since Busted – comprising vocalists Charlie Simpson, James Bourne and Matt Willis, all 39 – burst onto the scene, and they have something very special ahead to celebrate.

Fans had already become convinced the Who’s David stars had something major planned , with the official Busted social media pages updating their banners to include the date March 23.

Well, it is now March 23, and it has been revealed Busted are coming back for a massive 15-date UK arena tour, kicking off in September and with tickets going on sale next week.

The tour will see James, Charlie and Matt perform their biggest hits along with fan favourites (hello, Nerdy and 3am) with support from Mmmbop stars Hanson and New Hope Club.

Busted

That’s not all: the group are preparing to release no fewer than 15 songs.

Rather than brand new tracks, Busted have created reworks of some of their most iconic songs and will perform them alongside some other major names from the scene.

The first release is a new version of Loser Kid, from Busted’s debut album; the track will hit airwaves on April 14 and will feature pop rock stars Simple Plan.

Other upcoming singles will have special guests McFly, All Time Low and more, with names to be released at a later date.

Busted 20th anniversary tour dates

September 2 – Plymouth, Pavilions September 3 – Cardiff, International Arena September 5 – Swansea, Arena September 6 – Bournemouth, BIC September 7 – Brighton, Centre September 9 – Birmingham, Utilita Arena September 10 – London, The O2 September 12 – Bridlington, Spa September 15 – Nottingham, Motorpoint Arena September 16 – Newcastle, Utilita Arena September 17- Leeds, First Direct Arena September 19 – Aberdeen, P&J Live September 20 – Glasgow, OVO Hydro September 22 – Liverpool, M&S Bank Arena September 24 – Manchester, AO Arena

Tickets for the tour will go on general sale at 9am on March 31, however fans who sign up to Busted’s mailing list will receive access to a pre-sale from 9am on March 29.

Rumours of a comeback for the group have circulated since Fightstar musician Charlie hinted to Lorraine Kelly ‘ there may be some plans ’ for a reunion.

‘It is the 20 year anniversary for Busted this year,’ he added.

‘Sworn to secrecy again… but there may be some stuff in the pipeline.’

Busted were first formed in 2000 and released their first, self-titled album in 2002, before their 2003 album A Present For Everyone threw them into even wider fame.

Their split in 2005 devastated fans, with many remembering genuine tears in the playground the day the news was announced; all three went on to form solo careers or front new bands.

Busted returned – in a way – in 2013, when Matt and James teamed up with McFly for supergroup McBusted, and Charlie finally returned in 2015, completing the original lineup.

Pop-punk band Busted have added six new dates to their upcoming UK tour due to huge demand, including an extra date in London .

The band have also added extra dates in Birmingham , Nottingham , Cardiff , Manchester , and Glasgow, after the original dates of their 15-date reunion tour sold out on Friday, March 31.

The trio, whose hits include Year 3000, Crashed The Wedding, and What I Go To School For, originally formed in 2003 before splitting in 2005. They later reformed for an arena tour in the UK and Ireland in 2016.

Now they’re releasing a new album to mark their 20th anniversary.

Members Charlie Simpson , Matt Willis , and James Bourne had appeared to be hinting earlier in March that something was afoot with a series of cryptic posts on social media.

They finally put fans out of their misery when their official Twitter account confirmed that they would be re-teaming to mark two decades since they first formed.

Busted is back, ITV News' Faye Barker reports

Boyband Busted has announced a comeback tour to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

The British trio, comprised of Masked Singer winner Charlie Simpson and bandmates James Bourne and Matt Willis, have announced 15 tour dates across the UK to mark their 20th anniversary.

The Year 3000 band also announced a new single called Loser Kid 2.0 featuring Simple Plan which will be released in April.

American pop band Hanson, best known for their 1997 hit MMMBop, will join the trio on tour.

In a video posted to Instagram on Thursday morning, Bourne said: "A decade is a long time. Two decades is an even longer time."

The clip showed footage from the band's past music videos including Air Hostess, You Said No, and What I Go to School For.

"We were writing songs that made us laugh and the songs that made us laugh made other people laugh and feel good," Bourne said.

He added that they have that "special feeling - like it's Busted time".

Simpson, who later went on to front rock band Fightstar, said Busted "really broke the mould" when they started making music in 2000.

"It's about celebrating what Busted meant to the fans and it's about us being able to go out and share that experience with them," Simpson said.

When and where are Busted touring?

September 2 – Pavilions, Plymouth

September 3 – Cardiff International Arena

September 5 – Swansea Arena

September 6 – Bournemouth International Centre

September 7 – Brighton Centre, Brighton

September 9 – Utilita Arena, Birmingham

September 10 – The O2, London

The confirmation of the reunion tour follows a cryptic video posted on the band's Instagram page on Wednesday. The teaser clip showed a Busted videotape being put into a VHS player. The caption read: "23/03/23" along with the hashtag "Busted20".

Thousands of fans responded to the teaser expressing their hopes for an album, tour, or single.

Thankfully fans didn't have to wait long until their hopes were confirmed on Thursday.

Heralded as the UK’s answer to Blink-182, Busted became one of the most iconic pop-rock bands of the noughties. Their debut self-titled album released in 2002 featured some of their biggest hits “Year 3000”, “You Said No” and their debut single “What I Go To School For”. Going onto win several accolades including Favourite Newcomer at the National Music Awards and a few BRIT awards saw Busted reach new heights as they released their follow-up album “A Present For Everyone” which went triple platinum in the UK. Their successes continued growing with every single released reaching the top 3 in the UK charts accumulating a number of eight- seriously impressive! With their teenage appeal and emulating a rebellious nature, it’s no wonder that they attracted thousands of adoring fans to their live performances. Opening with classics like “Air Hostess” sees the trio of Matt Willis, Charlie Simpson and James Bourne air jumping as they run across the stage, surrounded by a chorus of screams. Their energy is infectious as the crowd jump up and down, waving their arms in the air to “What I Go To School For” singing along word for word. Their tongue-in-cheek lyrics feed into their banter with the crowd, mirrored by some of the banners that audience wave emphatically. “Year 3000” sends the crowd wild, as the bright lights dart across the stage. “Crashed The Wedding” sees energy levels soar through the roof while ballads like “Sleeping With The Light On” slowing down them temple equally sees the biggest reaction, as the audience sway their arms in the air with the camera lights in the air. If you came to be entertained, Busted will definitely make sure you have a good time.

Amazing performance. Lots of energy and love from Charlie, Matt and James. The new tracks they played from the currently unreleased new album were out of this world! I loved every second of it, I was part of the Pigsty Which was ablsolutly isane to see all those people in the crowd and have a different perspective of a gig was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Charlie looks especially happy to be back he was extremely happy and energetic throughout. The lads gave great vocals and played well all night. Very much enjoyed it. Cant wait to see them next time!

After Busted split up I was devastated and when u heard they were having a reunion tour I just knew I had to go! After gettin to see McBusted which had James and Matt this was even better! Play all of the classic songs and I never sat down once. Support acts were great and was an amazing atmosphere. Such funny, talented and down to earth lads. Music sounds even better live. All busted fans must see them!

I've been waiting to see them live for the best part of 18 years and the day before my 21st I finally got to see them.

Best show of my life and I've been to well over 150 gigs in the past 2 years.

Professor Green didn't suit the lineup at all and didn't gain much of a crowd.

Scouting For Girls however were a perfect opening act. Massive crowd with everyone singing along. Brilliant.

Amazing concert, nice to hear the old and new song. Duration was a little short. The band played with the audience to entertain us. Stage was fine, lights were good. I missed the opportunity to shake hands and ask for autographs of the band (there were no VIP tickets)

Follow our blog below as Busted added six UK dates to its tour lineup

  • Updated 12:13, 31 MAR 2023

Thousands of fans are expected to queue to buy Busted 2023 reunion tour tickets

The general sale was the last chance for Busted fans to try and get tickets for the trio's mega 20th-anniversary tour, more than two decades since the band released hits like 'What I Go To School For' and 'Year 3000'.

Just 10 minutes after the Ticketmaster , Ticketek and AXS queues opened the first Manchester date had sold out, leaving hundreds of fans without tickets.

After huge demand, the group added six new UK dates to its lineup, including a second show at Manchester's AO Arena on September 30. A day after its first headline show in the city on September, 29.

Despite announcing the tour late last week hundreds of fans bought tickets on Wednesday's first artist and O2 Presale, which saw sites crash due to overwhelming demand.

It's thought that the majority of the tickets sold out during this week's earlier presale events, which included O2 Priority and venue presale. The trio will now play 21 shows across the UK on its whirlwind 2023 tour, performing their greatest hits.

Earlier sales have also given fans an idea of how much to expect to pay, with tickets starting from £42.50 up to £80 depending on the type of package. Some fans have taken to social media to share their frustrations at the rates although compared to other artist sales the prices are a lot lower.

There's not been an official statement just yet but I've spent the last 10 minutes trying all options, and nothing is popping up.

It's looking pretty slim for the other UK venues too, as Nottingham, Leeds, Liverpool and Birmingham have few spots left. If you're still on the hunt for tickets we'd suggest coming back in the next few days (on Ticketmaster) to try and find resale tickets.

There's still Platinum tickets left

WOW and seated tickets for the second date, Spetember 30, seem to be completely sold-out now. The only other way fans could get these is waiting for resale.

In better news there are ' Platinum' tickets left at £113.40 each . In theory these tickets don't give you any perks, they are only introduced as demand gets high and the 'tickets do not include VIP packages'.

We've added the seating plan below so you can see the venue layout.

The five extra dates on top of new Manchester show

If you're struggling to find tickets for the Manchester show try joining the new London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Nottingham or Glasgow shows.

All of the new dates are listed on Ticketmaster.

YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY. We're adding six new dates including London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff, Manchester and Glasgow and all of them are on sale now via https://t.co/SWq1rvSHch — Busted (@Busted) March 31, 2023

Ticket tip: select one ticket at a time

Obviously this does come with a slight risk but as the second Manchester date starts to sell-out we'd suggest you try this.

We're now not able to get two seated tickets at a time but when we select one at a time it comes up. If you're desperate to see them this may be your only chance.

Although this does mean tickets will be spread apart and you may have to sit on your own. A lot of individual seats around row U are coming up.

WOW tickets sold out for second date

The £80 WOW pit standing tickets have already sold out on the second Manchester date. If you're in the queue don't bother trying to add them as there's none left.

I clicked onto the general seated tickets and four came up for me so there still seems to be a handful of seats left. Unlike the first date there are no platinum tickets for the September 30th show.

Second Manchester date announced

This is what we like to see. Busted has added a second Manchester date to it's lineup on September 30. The queue is already up and running and fans can now buy tickets for the second date, here.

This is what the queue is looking like:

Keep refreshing the Ticketmaster landing page as more dates or tickets may be added!

Fans are disappointed

Fans are taking to Twitter to share their frustrations at not being able to get tickets, it seems majority must have gone during this weeks presale.

One fan said:

Waited for 9am for Busted Manchester tickets just for them to all be sold out within minutes.

James Bourne seems to have commented on the quick sell-out too, although neither the band, Ticketmaster or AO Arena have confirmed they've sold out yet, but there's definitely none left to buy

Guys guys guys — James Bourne (@JamesBourne) March 31, 2023

No tickets left

I've just tried buying tickets again by refreshing the browser and re-joining the queue.

I can confirm there are no more tickets left on Ticketmaster's site for the Manchester date, and it is appearing with the dreaded yellow 'low availability' warning. I'll be back with an update as soon as it is confirmed by the venue.

In the meantime join the other UK dates as there is still Liverpool, Wales and Leeds availability.

Manchester tickets seem to be SOLD OUT

It isn't looking good. I've just reached the front of the queue and there are no Manchester tickets left. I've searched for WOW, seated tickets and even two platinum tickets and it's only popping up with the resale sign.

Is anyone else having this issue?

One of the quickets Ticketmaster queue's we've ever seen

Our reporter Bethan got to the front of the queue in record time, after a failed pre-sale day. Three minutes is definitelythe quickest we've seen.

Only 800 people in Manchester queue

Well, I was not expecting that, ther's only 800 people in front of me in the queue.

It's one of the first time I've joint a ticket sale and not had 5,000 plus infront of me. Hopefully this means there's a good number of tickets left.

No.1 tip: The more devices and browsers the better

The countdown is on, with just over 15 minutes to go.

A tip all fans should follow is using multiple browsers and devices. It works for us nearly every time and often means we're left with a few choices rather than going for the last resort ticket type.

You can log onto whichever ticket service you are using above and wait for the queue to open on more than one device; laptop, phone, tablet etc.

Once the queue opens you can keep your options open as to whatever device is further ahead. The same can apply to dates, if you can be flaxibile it may pay-off joining the nearby Liverpool or Leeds dates too.

Event Details

Busted have announced that they will be celebrating their 20 th anniversary with an arena tour which is heading to The O2 on 10, 27 September and 10 October 2023. The band will be joined by special guests Hanson and The Tyne.

Impossible though it may seem, it’s been twenty years since Busted bounced into the charts with the irrepressible pop-punk energy of their debut single ‘What I Go To School For’ . It kickstarted a succession of hits for the trio, including the #1 smashes ‘Crashed The Wedding’, ‘Who’s David’ , ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’, ‘You Said No’ and the Top 3 singles ‘Year 3000’ , ‘Air Hostess’ and ‘Sleeping WIth The Light On’. Now Busted celebrate their 20th anniversary by announcing details of a major UK arena tour, alongside a series of new versions of fifteen of their classic hits to be released in the build-up, with some very special guests

The tour will see the original much-loved trio - James Bourne, Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis - play their hits and fan-favourites this September. The first track to launch the 20 th anniversary celebrations will be a new version of Busted’s song ‘Loser Kid’ featuring Simple Plan, which will be released on 14 April. Loser Kid featured as the final track on their self-titled debut album and was co-written by Bourne, Simpson and Willis.

Busted’s many successes spread far beyond the singles charts. Three of their four studio albums also peaked at #2, with 4.5 million sales leading to eight Platinum certifications as well as a total of 25 weeks in the Top 10 and two 5x Platinum selling albums. They have won two BRIT Awards - Best Pop Act and Best British Breakthrough - while multiple sold-out arena tours have seen them sell more than 2 million tickets.

Busted’s 20th anniversary tour follows Charlie Simpson’s recent triumph as the winner of 2023’s ’The Masked Singer’, adding to his other projects which have included four solo albums and four albums with the rock band Fightstar. James Bourne is a renowned songwriter, with credits including McFly, The Jonas Brothers, 5 Seconds of Summer and The Vamps, as well as his band Son of Dork and two recent solo albums ‘Safe Journey Home’ (2020) and ‘Sugar Beach’ (2022). After releasing his debut solo album, Matt Willis famously won ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ leading to a successful television career as well as acting roles which have included the recent West End hit ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’.

Ian Astbury, left, and guitarist Billy Duffy of The Cult perform at The Pearl concert theater at Palms Casino Resort on October 27, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Cult have added an extra London show to their upcoming anniversary tour. Check out ticket details below.

The announcement comes just days after the rock icons announced details of an upcoming UK tour for the end of 2024 – which will see them celebrate 40 years as a band.

Upcoming shows will be held in 10 cities across the country, and mark the milestone anniversary of Ian Astbury and co. coming together as we recognise them today – swapping their name from the original title ‘Death Cult’ into ‘The Cult’.

Now, following the initial date at London’s Royal Albert Hall selling out, the band have announced details of a second show in the UK capital, this time held at the Roundhouse venue in Camden.

The date is added as an extension to the original run of shows and will take place on Tuesday, November 5 – the day after the Royal Albert Hall gig. Tickets are available now and you can check out an updated itinerary for the UK shows below.

Ian Astbury of The Cult performs at The Pearl concert theater at Palms Casino Resort on October 27, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Cult 2024 updated tour dates are:

OCTOBER 21 – Leicester, De Montfort Hall 22– Swansea, Swansea Arena  24 – Edinburgh, Usher Hall [SOLD OUT] 25 – Manchester, O2 Apollo 27 – Bristol, Beacon [LOW TICKETS]  29 – York, Barbican 30 – Newcastle, O2 City Hall

NOVEMBER: 1 – Portsmouth, Guildhall 2 – Wolverhampton, Civic Hall 4 – London, Royal Albert Hall [SOLD OUT] 5 – London, Roundhouse

The dates for 2024 come following a tour the band embarked on last year, celebrating 40 years since their first formation under the name ‘Death Cult’ .

Taking place around the UK, Ireland and the US, the tour was called ‘Death Cult 8323’ and saw Duffy and Astbury return to play iconic venues they previously performed in at the start of their career.

The live shows focused on Death Cult and their eponymous EPs, and also boasted a setlist that spanned “the three phases of the band, from Southern Death Cult, to Death Cult, and The Cult’s first two albums: ‘Dreamtime’ (1984) and ‘Love’ (1985).”

Announcing the new run of dates, guitarist Billy Duffy said: “Following up from the great energy of ‘Death Cult 8323’ shows, I’m looking forward to bringing that sense of celebration of the band’s music, and the communion with our fans, to ‘Cult 8424’… CFFC. Let the ceremony commence!”

More recently, Billy Duffy joined Johnny Marr on stage in Frome last summer to play tracks by The Smiths and Depeche Mode .

Taylor Swift shocker: New album, "The Tortured Poets Department," is actually a double album

By Alex Sundby , Brian Dakss

Updated on: April 19, 2024 / 10:28 PM EDT / CBS News

Anticipation was growing at a fever pitch before Taylor Swift's latest album, " The Tortured Poets Department ," dropped at midnight EDT. But the pop superstar had a huge surprise on tap: It's actually a double album.

When Part One dropped, Swift wrote on Instagram , "All's fair in love and poetry... New album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. Out now 🤍"

Then came the shocker, revealed in an Instagram post saying , "It's a 2am surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album. ✌️ I'd written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here's the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn't mine anymore… it's all yours. 🤍."

What's Taylor Swift's new album about?

Swift described the album as "new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time — one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure."

She also said that time has been "closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed. And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted."

"Entertainment Tonight" correspondent Denny Directo called the record some of her most vulnerable work.

"Fans were left with more questions than there were answers, so good luck trying to decipher who these songs are about, what they mean," Directo told CBS News. "… I feel like there's more heartbreak songs on this than there are love songs."

Hours ahead of the record's release, Swift said on social media that its first single was "Fortnight," featuring Post Malone, and its music video was released Friday night .

Swift praised the Grammy-nominated artist's musical experimentation and melodies "that just stick in your head forever."

"I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight," Swift said in her post .

"Fortnight" isn't the only track on the album on which Swift worked with another artist. Florence and The Machine is also featured.

What's on "The Tortured Poets Department" tracklist?

Swift posted an initial tracklist to social media in February one day after she announced the album at  the Grammys , where she won for best pop vocal album. Here's the list of all 31 songs:

  • "Fortnight"
  • "The Tortured Poets Department"

Tesla Cybertruck Tour: Dates And Locations In Sydney, Australia

T esla enthusiasts in Sydney, Australia, are eagerly awaiting the chance to catch a peek at the bold and controversial Cybertruck as it sets out on its first leg of the Australian tour. Tesla has officially announced the dates and locations for showcasing its extra-large electric pickup truck across four showrooms in New South Wales.

The schedule for viewing the Tesla Cybertruck in Sydney, Australia, is as follows: Tesla Sydney from April 26th to May 5th, 2024; Tesla Chatswood from May 6th to May 12th, 2024; Tesla Parramatta from May 13th to May 19th, 2024; and Tesla Miranda from May 20th to May 26th, 2024.

This angular electric ute, although not yet confirmed for an Australian launch, has already attracted considerable attention. Recently, the Cybertruck made appearances at iconic Sydney locations, including Bondi Beach, accompanied by the Model 3 Performance. Photos shared by enthusiasts on social media platforms, such as the Tesla Owners Australia Facebook group, indicate a high level of interest among onlookers.

However, challenges such as its unconventional design and potential compliance issues with Australian Design Rules (ADRs) may hinder its local debut. Nonetheless, Tesla’s Cybertruck continues to attract enthusiasts and challenge conventional automotive norms, marking a significant step in the evolution of electric vehicles.

Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine announce extra Ascendancy / The Poison 2025 tour dates, plus stellar support act

The metalcore heroes will be playing their classic albums in full to mark their 20th anniversaries

Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine performing live in 2023

Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine have announced additional dates on their Poisoned Ascendancy world tour.

The metalcore favourites announced the tour in February, which will see them coheadline to celebrate the 20th anniversaries of their respective breakthrough albums, Ascendancy and The Poison .

The records will each be performed live in full.

The bands also announced the UK dates simultaneously, which will start on January 26, 2025, in Cardiff, Wales, and conclude on February 1 in London.

Now, the pair have added a string of European shows to the tour.

The full list of dates and the new poster are available below.

It’s also been revealed that Swedish groove/death metal up-and-comers Orbit Culture will be the support act for the UK and Europe gigs.

Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine have stated previously that The Poisoned Ascendancy will be a world tour, implying that North and South American and Asian dates will be added to the run in due course.

Ascendancy was released on March 15, 2005, as Trivium’s debut on renowned label Roadrunner Records.

It only charted at 151 in the band’s native United States, but received critical acclaim and became a sleeper hit, especially in the UK following Trivium’s main-stage set at Download festival, Donington, that June.

Ascendancy has since been certified Gold in the UK.

The Poison came out on October 3, 2005, and was Bullet For My Valentine’s debut album.

It reached number 21 on the album charts in the band’s native UK and also received critical acclaim.

The Poison has since been certified Gold in the UK and in the United States, and certified Platinum in Germany.

When the first Poisoned Ascendancy dates were announced in February, Trivium singer/guitarist Matt Heafy commented: “Bullet For My Valentine’s The Poison and Trivium’s Ascendancy are two records whose influence can be heard to this day – in the DNA of modern metal.

“It’s incredible to think of the impact the albums had when they came out in 2005. They were both like bolts of lightning.

“Both bands grew up independently of each other in different countries and separately from any movement or scene but both shared a common love of melodic heavy metal at the core; and both had similar meteoric rises right out of the gate.”

Bullet For My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck also commented, saying: “I honestly can’t believe it's been 20 years since the release of The Poison and what an incredible 20 years it’s been.

“I feel so proud of what we've achieved as a band in the last two decades and it all started with that debut album.

“ The Poison is such an important part of our lives musically and personally and we know the massive impact it had on the metal world on a global level.

“This tour will be made even more special as our brothers in Trivium are also joining us on the road to celebrate and play in its entirety their stunning album Ascendancy .”
