Founded in the basement of a Madison apartment, Epic, a now-mammoth worldwide software company, employs approximately 10,000 people at its headquarters in Verona. But it’s not just its size that makes Epic a topic of fascination. The company’s campus in the beautiful Verona countryside is straight out of a fantasy novel. There are themed buildings that include nods to Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter, and more. And the best part? The company welcomes visitors for self-guided tours. The experience is other-worldly, not to mention beautiful, interesting and fun. Tours may be suspended due to COVID-19, but keep checking their website and add this one to your Verona bucket list!

Verona is an official Ice Age Trail Community with approximately 6.3 miles of trails winding through parks, woods and prairie. This kind of trail access offers amazing opportunities to get outside, enjoy nature, and explore new places. The Verona Area has not one, not two, but three amazing breweries to visit, all offering different experiences. First there’s Wisconsin Brewing Company , known for being dog- and family-friendly, and having a sprawling “backyard patio.” Down the road in Paoli there’s the Hop Garden , nestled on the banks of the Sugar River and adjacent to Paoli Mill Terrace and Park. Frequent live, outdoor music, as well as Sunday Farmers’ Markets make a visit here a truly special experience. Finally, there’s Hop Haus Brewing Company , located right in the heart of downtown Verona. In addition to beer, the Hop Haus serves up great food as well, making it a prime spot to gather downtown.

Amazing art. What a wonderful addition to Verona.

Looking for something free, maybe on a rainy or snowy day? EPIC Systems has for some time, opened their doors to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, currently 10:00a.m. to 3:00pm. Plan on 2 - 3 hours to see 3 -5 buildings. If you follow the handout instructions, you'll make your way around fine. Be prepared to be a kid again and slide down The Rabbit Hole. If you go on a nice day, you can view the outdoor displays up close. I've been here 4 times and still find new things to see. Totally worth seeing. Wear comfortable shoes, maybe leave your coat in the car.

This free self guided walking tour is EPIC! We (3 teens, 2 adults) enjoyed every minute of the 2 hours & 10K steps we spent here. We maybe saw 1/4? of it. The art and sculptures and even the stairs - all fantastic. Amazing. The printed directions were like an escape room - hard to decipher sometimes, but that made it more fun. Can’t wait to return!

Epic is a huge UNIQUE medical tech complex that offers self-guided tours of their gorgeous campus. There is a multitude of attractive and varied art and art forms from throughout the world. It is almost like going to a museum, but it is interspersed throughout their headquarters’ offices. All the staff we met were friendly. The printed handouts are helpful, but it would help if there were more signage. Hours are limited, so it is not possible to do it all in one day. We loved it and will return! It is worth going.

This is a beautiful place to visit! there are many different themed buildings from a wizard academy to an Alice in wonderland one. Kids and adults will enjoy walking around and having fun though. It can get a little frustrating to find where you’re going, but you’ll eventually figure it out the staff wagon around that can help you find where you need to go and it’s a must visit in Verona!

We were impressed by the well-planned self-guided tours of the various sections of this huge campus. The staff at the visitor's desk were helpful - but we did sort of get the vibe that they didn't love having us there (even though were were polite and cooperative and friendly... so not sure what was up with that). To be fair, in every other part of the campus the employees we encountered were friendly and very helpful. It sort of felt like being at Disneyworld! Everywhere we went, indoors and out was filled with artwork and details related to the theme of each area. Kudos to the design team for all of that effort! We explored several indoor and outdoor areas, and realized that the 2 hours recommended for a visit aren't nearly enough. So, we'll come again next time we're in the area!

Traveled for XGM. The Epic Intergalactic Headquarters campus has the details that the Epic team brings to their product and support! I’ll definitely be back for a class and another tour.
