GODSMACK Cancels South American Tour Due To 'Lack Of Ticket Sales'

GODSMACK has canceled its previously announced spring tour of South America due to a "lack of ticket sales".

The band announced that it has scrapped the trek, which was scheduled to hit Santiago, Chile on April 21, Buenos Aires, Argentina on April 25 and São Paulo, Brazil on April 27, in a social media post earlier today.

GODSMACK wrote: "We are heartbroken to have to announce that GODSMACK cannot get to South America in April as promised. We are so saddened by this as we've been trying for so long to make this work, but due to the lack of ticket sales, we simply can't find a way to fund this tour at this time. Please know we've tried everything we could to make it work, but it has now gone beyond our control.

"We love and appreciate our fans and will remain optimistic that we will play for your country one day. Until then, our deepest apologies."

GODSMACK 's South American tour was originally scheduled to take place last November but was postponed to April due to what the band described at the time as "logistical issues."

GODSMACK 's new album, "Lighting Up The Sky" , was released last month via BMG . The LP was co-produced by GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna and Andrew "Mudrock" Murdock ( AVENGED SEVENFOLD , ALICE COOPER ).

The first single from "Lighting Up The Sky" , "Surrender" , which arrived in September, marked the first release from GODSMACK in four years, following their globally acclaimed and gold-certified 2018 album "When Legends Rise" , which earned the Erna -fronted outfit a No. 1 spot across U.S. Hard Rock, Rock, and Alternative album charts.

Godsmack Announces They Had To Cancel South American Tour Over 'Lack Of Ticket Sales'

Share this post:

Godsmack took to his socials to announce the cancellation of their then-upcoming South American tour. The band issued that the cancellation was due to the lack of ticket sales.

Known for their energetic live performances and ability to connect with their audience, Godsmack has been touring since the late 1990s and has played countless shows across the United States and internationally. The band often interacts with the crowd during their shows, and their setlists are carefully curated to include fan favorites and new material. They have also headlined their own tours, played on numerous festivals, and shared the stage with other popular rock bands.

Recently, the band updated its socials to give bad news to its fans. In the issue, they announced their then-upcoming shows in Santiago, Chile on April 21, Buenos Aires, Argentina on April 25, and São Paulo, Brazil on April 27 have been canceled due to lack of ticket sales.

“We are heartbroken to have to announce that Godsmack cannot get to South America in April as promised,” Godsmack announces. “We are so saddened by this as we’ve been trying for so long to make this work, but due to the lack of ticket sales, we simply can’t find a way to fund this tour at this time. Please know we’ve tried everything we could to make it work, but it has now gone beyond our control.”

“We love and appreciate our fans and will remain optimistic that we will play for your country one day. Until then, our deepest apologies.”

The announcement devastated some fans, as expected. On Twitter, a fan reacted to Godsmack’s announcing the cancellation of the South American tour. The band’s official account responded to that fan’s message, saying, “We are truly bummed out about this.”

We are truly bummed out about this 😞💔 — Godsmack (@godsmack) March 3, 2023

The band canceled its South American tour a few weeks after they announced the Spring 2023 tour in support of I Prevail. The band’s Spring 2023 tour will kick off KBPI at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Denver on May 4. Planning to rock its fans through May 2023, the band will conclude its trek at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville on May 28, 2023.

As you know, Godsmack ‘s latest album, Lighting Up the Sky , released on February 24, will be the band’s final album, according to them. Last month, the band’s drummer discussed Godsmack’s decision to retire from the studio after the latest album.

“25 years of putting records out, and we’ve never had a flop,” the drummer told IHeartRadio . “And I’m 55, dude. We were playing in the United Kingdom, and the band The Raven Age opened – it’s Steve Harris from Iron Maiden; his son plays guitar for this band. And maybe third, fourth show, whatever, I’m, like, ‘Hey, dude. How old are you?’ He was, like, ‘I’m 23.’ And I was, like, ‘My daughter is 23.’ And I was, like, ‘Wow.’”

Godsmack & Staind [CANCELLED] at USANA Amphitheater

Godsmack has been around for a very long time, since the mid-1990s, and they have a lot to show for it. With their self-titled debut album recorded in 1996, this ICONIC band claimed 4x platinum sales for their work, which is an astounding feat considering that the album was made for only $2500.

With a back catalog so chock full of hits, such as “I Stand Alone,” “Awake,” and Voodoo,” they can fill a marathon set without a problem. So it should come as no surprise that these guys have more top ten songs than Foo Fighters or Aerosmith, and their songs are so hard coded in the genre you would be forgiven for thinking it's part of the DNA.

Their latest studio album, “Lighting Up the Sky,” has given the world singles like "Surender,” which received over half a million streams on Spotify within the first two weeks of it being available. Other songs like “What About Me” and “Soul On Fire” are so rich in their style that they can easily be included in a list featuring some of their hottest tracks. This is fitting because this will be the last album that they release. With eight albums, two iHeartRadio Music Awards nominations, four Grammy nominations, and a Billboard Music Award, they can easily claim to be one of the best to ever do it.

Staind fits this tour so well. Dysfunction, the group's debut recording, became a huge commercial hit straight out of the gate, and the album moved up the ranks on the Billboard 200 album chart and got to number 74. Some of the album's songs, including "MUDSHOVEL," "JUST GO," and "HOME," have evolved into musical plotlines in the lives of many of their devoted fans.

For their outstanding work in producing seven studio albums and eight top-ten singles, fans have given them more than 15 million album sales as a token of appreciation. Nobody will ever forget the smash hit "It's Been a While," a mainstay of contemporary rock radio. That particular song is currently regarded as one of the all-time best-selling rock radio singles.

Powerful vocal screams, thunderous drumbeats, and crushing guitar riffs will be featured on this epic rock and metal journey that these two incredible musicians are ready to take you on. You simply can't let this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity slip by. Buy your tickets right NOW before they're all gone!!!

Godsmack -the Iband-was fantastic as usual. I've seen them so many times. This time..after paying 264$...I got stuck behind a huge speaker and couldn't see them. I was horrified. The staff wouldn't let me change to a better seat and we weren't able to exit the row as we were literally corralled in by metal bars. I'm thinking henious Firecode violations but whatever..Pensacola Bay Arena TANKED for this show..Ive been to a gazillion concerts (1000+)and this was one of my worst. Paid all that money and it was a bust.

Where do I begin!!!!??? Seeing Godsmack has been on my bucket list, and for good reason!! They were sensational! I was on my feet, from the moment the curtain went up, till the last note played. They were everything I expected, and so much more!! I hope this first experience isn’t my last. I absolutely loved them!!!!!!

Godsmack in Grey Hall Christiania Copemhagen.

It was my first time to see Godsmack and it turned out that it was 20 years ago, that they last entered a stage in Denmark.

It was also my first time in The Grey Hall, so I was a bit exited about everything.

Franklin Zoo was support and they did a hell of a good job... Great band.

Godsmack entered the stage and they all looked like they enjoyed them selves and that quickly merged to the audience, the more the band played, the bigger a party the audience had.

The Double drumkit drum solo was magnificient and the 2 cover version "Come Together" & "Highway To Hell" was just performed perfect.

All in all this was a great concert and I will be among the audince, next time Godsmack comes to Denmark

The Black Keys cancel fall North American tour that was to launch in Oklahoma: What to know

godsmack cancels tour

The Black Keys have canceled their 2024 North American headlining tour that was originally slated to launch in Oklahoma.

The duo of singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney announced in April plans to kick off the fall "International Players Tour" Sept. 17 at the BOK Center in Tulsa. Produced by Live Nation, the coast-to-coast tour originally was scheduled to go on to New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, with two dates in the band’s home state of Ohio.

The Black Keys ' 31-city autumn tour was to support their 12th studio album, "Ohio Players," which was released April 5 via Nonesuch Records.

The Tulsa tour-launching date is now listed as canceled at bokcenter.com . All the dates have been scrubbed from the Black Keys' website and are listed as canceled on Ticketmaster.com except for the July 6 NASCAR Chicago Street Race at Grant Park.

The Black Keys reveal plans to reconfigure tour, promise to announce new dates

An Instagram post over Memorial Day weekend on The Black Keys' official account assured fans that Carney and Auerbach "are alive and well."

The Instagram post also revealed the duo's plans to reconfigure the the North American leg of the tour.

"Following the recent run of shows in the UK & Europe, including stops at iconic venues like Brixton Academy and the Zenith in Paris, we have decided to make some changes to the North American leg of the International Players Tour that will enable us to offer a similarly exciting, intimate experience for both fans and the band, and will be announcing a revised set of dates shortly," the band posted on Instagram.

The post states that fans who purchased tickets to the initial tour dates will be fully refunded, "and when the new plans are announced, will be the first to be able to buy tickets."

Tulsa ticketholders received an email over the weekend that "no action is required to obtain a refund. It will be processed to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer." Ticketholders should expect the refund to appear on their account within 14 to 21 days, according to the email.

"Thank you for your understanding and apologies for the surprise change," The Black Keys' Instagram post concluded. "We’re pretty sure everyone is going to be excited when you see what we have in mind though, and look forward to seeing everyone soon."

  19. Any idea why Washington and Utah shows were canceled? : r/Staind

Well, when you are a hard rock band, and choose metal bands to tour with, it doesn't makes sense. I'm not even a Godsmack fan, was going for Atreyu, but had seen Godsmack live before and liked their stage show. Cancelling shows here and there due to low sales, when there are at least enough sales to be profitable, is bullshit and will hurt them.
