Localisation : Puidoux-Chexbres dans le canton de Vaud

Descriptif : randonnée facile à faire avec des enfants. Très courue le we.

Longueur totale : environ 10 km

Temps de marche: 3 heures

Dénivelée : +/- 440 mètres

Altitude : entre 616 et 925 mètres

Meilleure période : toute l’année mais de préférence au printemps et en automne

Depuis la gare de Puidoux suivre « Tour de Gourze ». Au lieu dit « bois de Romont », quitter la route par la droite pour monter en direction de la colline. Au point d’altitude 822, traverser la forêt par l’itinéraire « Duflonnevita ». Au croisement de la route de Gourze et de la route de la Ramure, emprunter la route de la Ramure et suivre les indication de l’itinéraire « Tour de Gourze ». Une fois atteint la Tour de Gourze il y a de nombreux endroits pour pic-niquer. Redescendre par la route de la Tour de Gourze qui bifurque à gauche au point d’altitude 810. L’itinéraire rejoint le croisement de la route de la Ramure et de la Tour de Gourze. Continuer en direction de La Vulpillière par le chemin la Corbessière. A la Vulpillière, traverser le hameau et suivre en direction de Puidoux, Chexbres pour rejoindre le point de départ. La fin de l’itinéraire rejoint le début du trajet.

Informations pratiques

Très belle randonnée, idéale pour les enfants. Depuis le sommet de la Tour de Gourze, magnifique panorama à 360° sur le Jura et le lac Léman. Nombreuses tables pour pic-niquer.

La tour de Gourze

La Tour de Gourze est une ancienne tour de guet construite au Moyen Âge et située au sommet du Mont de Gourze dans les hauteurs de Riex sur la commune de Bourg-en-Lavaux à 923 mètres d’altitude.

La tour permet de profiter d’un joli panorama sur le bassin lémanique.

Le parking se trouve en contrebas de la tour à la hauteur du restaurant de la tour de Gourze.

La tour est atteignable en 5 minutes depuis le parking.

Un escalier droit sur trois faces intérieures de la tour permet d’en atteindre le sommet.

La présence de la tour de Gourze, haute d’une dizaine de mètres, est attestée au XIIIe siècle et certainement construite quelque temps avant. Elle appartient à l’évêché de Lausanne qui contrôle des territoires discontinus à l’intérieur de la Savoie vaudoise comme Lausanne, le Lavaux, Bulle ou Lucens.

En 1536, Berne envahit le Pays de Vaud et s’empare de la tour. Elle est ensuite laissée à l’abandon puis restaurée à la fin du 19e siècle et finalement acquise par le canton de Vaud en 1910. À l’époque du Moyen Âge, elle possédait un toit.

La Tour de Gourze en elle-même ne représente pas un grand intérêt architectural, mais, la vue sur le Jorat vaudois, les Préalpes fribourgeoises et surtout le bassin lémanique est particulièrement remarquable.

Il n’y a pas de visibilité dans les directions nord – nord-est et est en raison de la forêt.

Places de pic-nic

Plusieurs places de pic-nic avec des places de grillades sont disponibles entre le parking et la tour de Gourze.

La café-restaurant de la Tour de Gourze se trouve au niveau du parking. Il propose notamment des fondues, des spécialités aux fromages ainsi que des assiettes de viandes froides et des desserts.

La tour de Gourze

Gourze tower.

The current construction was originally a tower which may have connections with those of the Romanesque era.The first written records go back to 1279. It was dismantled in the early 14th century by Louis II, Baron of Vaud, during the confrontations with Pierre d’Oron, Bishop of Lausanne. At the time the tower must have been 15 or 16 meters high. It was rebuilt at the end of the 14th century by Jean de Canturion, Bishop Guillaume de Menthonay’s Master of the Mint. It was sold to the parish of Villette in 1530 and restored in 1895 and 1909.

It has belonged to the State of Vaud since 1910.

Our webcam in Gozo overlooks the beautiful harbor and ferry terminal of Mgarr , a Maltese town located in the northwest.

Gozo is one of the 21 islands belonging to the Maltese Archipelago in the Mediterranean. When tourists arrive on the island, a lovely view of Mġarr harbor greets them: ferries, yachts, boats and busy fishermen preparing their nets for the day!

Beautiful everyday scenes are captured by our Mgarr live cam ! Millions of tourists arrive every year. This view shows the whole of the resort ski area and piste front in the foreground and the main gondola, the Grand Rousses is on the far right, and of course the (in)famous Folie Douce terrace and VIP area!
