Welcome aboard! Join us as a passenger on one of our daily boat tours. We also offer private boat tours on board our wooden boat Ljubljanica for individuals and groups. A licensed city guide can be arranged as well.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE BOAT TOUR

The regular boat tour on the Ljubljanica lasts 50 minutes. We start at the portion of the river embankment called Breg and start sailing south, against the river flow. Soon we reach the Saint Jakob’s (Saint James’ the Great) bridge and than the cast-iron bridge called Hradecki. We continue past the confluence of tributary Gradaščica and river Ljubljanica. We can admire nicely managed shorelines of Trnovski pristan right after that. At Špica, where people used to swim in the river and sunbathe on the shore, we turn right. On the left we see the man-made channel build in 18th Century, called Gruber channel, and the city harbour for the river boats. After passing the rowing club on the right and the kayak and canoe club on the left, we reach Livada, a beautiful spot for a restaurant. Short distance ahead, just past the bridge on which Hladnikova road leads, we turn around. Now we are heading back to the city centre. On our way we can admire Ljubljana castle, parts of the city called Prule and Trnovo, parts of the city called Old Square, City Square and New Square with many charming baroque buildings, Cobbler’s bridge, St. Mary Annunciation church or Franciscan church, The Triple Bridge, Marketplace, The Butcher’s Bridge, The Dragon’s bridge and The Grain bridge. At the Ljubljanica Sluice Gate designed by Jože Plečnik and built in time of the 2nd World War, we turn again and return to Breg. 

Our boat tours in December are focused mainly to exquisitely decorated and illuminated part of the city, between the confluence of tributary Gradaščica and river Ljubljanica on one side and the Dragon’s bridge on the other side. The duration of our afternoon and evening boat tours in that special time of year is 25 minutes, in 30-minute intervals. Our guests can enjoy a cup of mulled wine or a cup of hot tea (both sold separately) while on-board our boat Ljubljanica. Your are more than welcome to join!

Get to know the most important sights of the old city centre of Ljubljana and let a tourist boat take you on a cruise along the Ljubljanica river.

In the company of your guide, you will take a walking tour of the historical city centre during which you will be immersed in the history and stories behind Ljubljana's major sights. From the Prešernov trg square , dominated by the Franciscan Church and connected to the Triple Bridge , you will head towards Plečnik's Market and the Cathedral , continue to the Town Hall and the Robba Fountain , cross the Cobblers' Bridge , pass the National and University Library to reach the Križanke Summer Theatre , and continue towards the Kongresni trg square .

In the heart of the city, you will embark on a tourist boat that will take you along the Ljubljanica, whose interesting bridges and picturesque embankments give Ljubljana its distinctive appearance.

Surcharges and other fees

• The tour can be customized to suit your interests. Should the customized tour take more than two hours, the extra time will be charged at €35.00 per hour
• A waiting fee will be charged at a rate of €16.00 per hour.
• A 50 percent cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations notified less than 24 hours prior to the agreed tour departure time.

The boat ride lasts 45 minutes. First, we head towards Špica where Ljubljanica splits into two, offering a view into nature. We turn back at Livada. On the way, you can enjoy the view of Ljubljana Castle, some of the embassies andnewly renewed river banks. As we approach the old town, you have a magnificent view of the Cobblers’ Bridge, Franciscan church, Tromostovje or the Triple Bridge, the Market, and charming baroque houses. You get a special view of new bridges such as Butchers’ Bridge or Grain Bridge. We turn again at the famous Dragon Bridge.
