We also are thinking about the Collette 12 day tour using Marriott points. Your review sounds very positive; would it be good choice/value for a first time active senior couple?
Curious, have you been there or booked your vacation yet? We are also considering using our destination points for a 12 day tour. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Pat- I have the family costa rica tour booked for july 2012 and was wondering if terevis anything special you recommend us packing such as mosquito nets, rain boots etc? I have a 12 & 10 year old and my mother in law who's in her early 70's. Looking forward to travel and want to make it the best trip possible.
My first tour with Collette last May, Country Roads of Tuscany and Umbria was AMAZING! Truly the trip of a lifetime for that particular region. The group was great and the tour guide was the best I have encountered on an organized tour! I am booking my 2nd Collette tour for next month - May 2012. I am hoping for an equally amazing trip! The tours are affordable and everything was planned perfectly!!
Went Feb. 2013 Our guide Ricardo was a Tropical Biologist, super informative and
entertaining and totally organized. We learned and saw so much - very little pavement or
,monuments just wonderful treks through nature. Accommodations were first class, food good but different. Climate was perfect, no bugs, or snakes.- lots of birds, plants, flowers, butterflies, monkeys, caymen. In the Cloud Forest we took a walk over 8 hanging bridges
above the jungle canopy with tremendous views. I felt safe and relaxed.
If you take the extension to Tortoguero lots of boat rides and adventure. Probably my favourite trip/adventure - comfortable but exciting. Take binoculars and extra batteries or
multiple cameras. Luved it!!

Choose your own adventure with Collette’s ‘Costa Rica: A World of Nature’ tour
Post date: Mar 28 2024
Date: Mar 28 2024
By: Travelweek
Collette is excited to highlight its ‘ Costa Rica: A World of Nature ‘ small group Explorations tour.
The tour gives travellers a great opportunity to enjoy the rich culture of Costa Rica during a 12-day experience.
Collette’s small group Explorations tours have an average group size of just 16 travellers, allowing for a more immersive experience.
On the seventh day of the tour, travellers will be able to decide how they’d like to explore the Arenal rainforest. They’ll be able to choose between taking in the views via zipline, or embarking on a hike along the trails of Arenal Volcano National Park. During the hike, they’ll cross lava fields and stop to enjoy spectacular views of the volcano.
Aside from journeying through the Arenal rainforest, travellers have plenty to enjoy during the tour. They’ll get to visit the world’s first sea turtle research station in Tortuguero National Park, learn how to cook using a coconut, and make their own delicious local candy..
“Our ‘Costa Rica: A World of Nature’ small group Explorations tour is a great way for travellers to put their own spin on their experience,” says Collette CEO Jaclyn Leibl-Cote. “Travellers always rave about our Explorations tours because of the rich cultural experiences that are possible with the smaller number of travellers.”
