Day 1: Hoi An to P’Rao (150 km – 5 hours riding)

Your expert tour guide(s) will meet you at your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang at about 08:00 am, ready to embark on a motorbike journey like no other. Our first stop is at Marble Mountain, where you'll be awestruck by the stunning panoramic views of Da Nang City and the surrounding area. As we continue along the coastal roads, feel the wind in your hair and the sun on your face, taking in the unforgettable sights along the way. One of the highlights of our day is the epic Hai Van Pass, where we twist and turn our way up through the clouds to reach the summit. Here, you'll be left breathless by the most magnificent views in all of Vietnam. Descending from the pass, we head towards the Laos border, immersing ourselves in the local culture and traditions of the Co Tu Ethnic Minority, visiting one of the few remaining woodcarvers and experiencing their warm hospitality in their traditional stilt houses. Our journey deep into the mountains takes us to the heart of one of the most authentic hill tribes in Vietnam. Discover their fascinating culture and traditions as we explore the beautiful region. As the day draws to a close, we arrive at the charming mountain town of P’rao, nestled on the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Here, we check in to our accommodations and explore the town on foot, soaking up the local atmosphere.

Day 2: P'rao to Hue (185 km - 6 hours riding)

Wake up to the sounds of Vietnam's idyllic countryside and prepare to embark on a thrilling journey through rugged mountain roads and lush green rainforests. Our route takes us along a new section of the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, following the Vietnam-Laos border. With plenty of opportunities for stunning photos, we'll traverse through mountain passes and take a refreshing break at the foot of a cascading waterfall, enjoying the freedom of solitude in the midst of nature. As we continue our ride, we'll explore the unique culture and traditions of the isolated Bru-Van Kieu hill tribe villages, gaining insight into their way of life. In the afternoon, our route takes us through peaceful country lanes as we descend down to the flatlands of Hue. Along the way, we'll visit the infamous A Shau Valley, where you can learn about the Vietnam War, and catch a glimpse of the iconic Perfume River from the hills. Finally, we cruise into Hue, arriving at the hotel of your choice before sunset, marking the end of our unforgettable motorbike adventure. Join us on this indelible journey and discover the hidden gems and natural beauty of the Central Vietnam's rugged terrain.

Easy Rider: Dalat Countryside & 2 Waterfall Tour by motorbike

Explorations with an Easy Rider: Dalat Countryside.

This daytour of the Dalat countryside has it all: the Pongour and Elephant Falls, a visit to one of the traditional ethnic tribes of the Vietnamese highlands, a beautiful temple, flower and mushroom farms, a silk factory, coffee plantations, and – if you have any energy left – discovering one of the craziest buildings you have ever seen.

You pay a  15% deposit  upon booking your tour. At the start of the tour, you will pay the remaining amount to your Easy Rider.

Included  are entrance fees, protective clothing and a helmet.

Self-driving - number of people (optional): Make sure you have a valid motorcycle license!

Get on the motorbike and get off the beaten track with an original Easy Rider by your side! You will hardly see the highway, because Vietnam has much more to offer off the beaten track.

An experienced Easy Rider will guide you effortlessly through the country, with numerous stops at local families, unspoilt nature, fantastic food stalls and breathtaking temples and historic sites.

Route – Easy Rider Dalat countryside & waterfalls in 1 day

Sights & Highlights

You will be picked up at your hotel or hostel in Dalat at 8.30 AM and meet your Easy Rider. On beautiful mountain roads we drive to ‘Chicken Village’, where the K’ho tribe lives. On the way to the Pongour waterfall we see rice fields, water buffalos, and a mushroom farm. During lunch, your Easy Rider can help you choose a local dish that you like.

At the Elephant waterfall – so called because of the shape of the rock over which the water is clinging – we climb a narrow path to one of the caves behind the waterfall, where the elements together provide impressive sounds and photos. Then we visit the Linh An temple. Walk through the garden for the huge smiling Buddha.

At the silk factory you can see how silk is spun from the cocoon of the silkworm. We stop at a coffee plantation where the special ‘weasel coffee’ is made. Try a cup of Weasel Mocha while looking out over the many coffee plantations in the valley of the Ta Nung mountain. On the way back to Dalat we visit the Van Thanh flower farm and the ‘Crazy House’, one of the architectural highlights of Southeast Asia. The tour ends at the end of the afternoon at your hotel or hostel in Dalat.

The program above is a general description of the route. All tours are subject to change based on your Easy Rider’s own insight, depending on factors as weather, traffic and time. If you have specific wishes or ideas you can let us know in advance or discuss them with your guide at the start of the tour.

Additional costs

Entrance fee Dalat Crazy House, lunch, drinks and any other personal expenses (i.e. souvenirs, cup of weasel coffee). Expect your daily costs to be about €7/$7 per person for lunch and drinks throughout the day. Access to the Dalat Crazy House costs 40,000 VND (about €/$1,70).

Pick-up & Drop-off

All tours start between 8 and 9 AM in the morning. After booking with us, one of our Easy Riders will contact you with the exact pick-up time. Your Easy Rider will pick you up at your hostel or hotel in the departure city.

At the end of your tour – usually late afternoon, before dinner – you’ll be dropped off at the accommodation of your choice in the destination city. Make reservations before arrival, because our riders only make one stop for drop-off.

Arriving by bus or train?

We can arrange pick-ups and drop-offs at bus or train stations if you arrive before 9 AM in the morning. Start your tour fresh of the night bus or train – we’ll stop for breakfast along the way! Provide us with the necessary information (departure and arrival station, name of the bus company, estimated time of arrival) by adding it to the booking form.

If you have a flight on the night your tour ends, our guides are happy to drop you off at the airport of the arrival destination. Just make sure you allow enough time for check-in and boarding.

Your safety is our primary concern. During the tour you wear a helmet and protective gear for your upper body and knees – even if you are sitting on the back of the motorbike.

What is an Easy Rider motorbike tour?

An Easy Rider is a Vietnamese guide on a motorbike . Our Easy Riders are English-speaking, licensed tour guides who know the ins and outs of Vietnamese roads, nature, history and culture. Touring with an Easy Rider means that you comfortably sit on the back of the motorbike behind the guide – wearing protective gear – while you travel from one city to the next, stopping regularly to enjoy sights, local experiences, drinks and meals.

Tours start between 8 and 9 AM, and end between 3 and 5 PM. Your Eay Riders picks you up and drops you off at your accommodation. Multiple day tours include overnight stays.

How to book (availability, payment)

Availability Use the calendar at the top of the tour page to check availability for the preferred date(s).

Booking On the tour page, fill in the number of people you book for – choose between sitting behind the guide and self-driving – and select the date(s). Click ‘book now’ and follow the steps to complete your booking.

Payment You pay a small deposit by online payment; the remaining amount you pay at the start of the tour.

Confirmation You receive an automatically generated booking confirmation. Within 48 hours of booking, our head Easy Rider Mr. Vu will also email you to confirm your tour.

How far in advance should I book? You can book tours departing from Dalat, Hoi An and Hue shortly beforehand. For popular multiple-day tours (like the Ha Giang Loop), we advice you to book ahead. It’s okay if you don’t know your pick-up or drop-off location yet, you can let us know later.

Self-driving & International Driving Permit

On the tour, you can drive yourself if you are:

• a party of at least two people; on every tour at least one person sits behind an Easy Rider.
• in possession of a valid motorcycle license (A1 or A2), and;
• in possession of a valid 1968-version of the International Driving Permit (IDP) , obtained in your home country;

We will make sure to get you a well maintained motorbike (manual or clutch) and protective gear. The rate for sitting on the back or driving your own bike is the same, gasoline is included.

For safety reasons, we don’t allow passengers on the motorbikes for self-driving .

Each person can bring one (1) backpack or suitcase (max. 20 kg / 44 lbs) and one (1) daypack or handbag on the tour. Even pretty big hard scale suitcases can be tied to the back of the motorbike as long as they are not over 20 kg (44 lbs); it’s more about weight distribution than size.

All luggage is put in waterproof bags and tied to the front or back of the motorcycle.

Is it a private tour or do we ride in groups?

On most occassions, it’s just you and your Easy Rider(s) : a private tour.

During peak seasons (July & August, November – February), we sometimes combine multiple bookings to a small group. This group then consists of all the guests who have booked the same route on the same date(s). This is most common on our popular day tours (covering the Hai Van Pass).

Our Ha Giang Loop tours are always private tours. For us, this is an important way to distinguish our tours in this region from the awfully big groups some operators ride with.

– By weight: not more than 90 kg for sport bikes and not more than 110 kg for grand tourists (Goldwing);

– All pilots are prohibited to take passengers in a state of alcoholic or drug intoxication;

– The volume of luggage (handbags, backpacks, etc.) is not more than 15 liters. Larger volume of baggage – must be reported in advance (for the carriage of goods a number of motorcycles are foreseen);

  – It is strictly forbidden to ride without a helmet. (helmet provided);

Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings.
