Joy Behar and Friends to Perform Her New Show My First Ex-Husband

The show will benefit Bay Street Theater.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts announced that TV personality and Bay Street Board of Trustees member Joy Behar ( The View ) and friends, including Susie Essman ( Curb Your Enthusiasm ), Tovah Feldshuh ( Golda’s Balcony ), Sherri Shepherd ( Sherri ), and more will perform My First Ex-Husband , Behar’s all-new show. My First Ex-Husband is a series of monologues written by Behar and will be performed one night only on Saturday, June 22 to benefit the Bay Street Theater.

My First Ex-Husband is produced by Rose Caiola, Cyrena Esposito, and Tracy Mitchell in collaboration with the Bay Street Theater.

VIDEO: Joy Behar Reveals She Was Asked to Star in HELLO DOLLY! On Tour; Find Out If She Accepted

On this morning's THE VIEW, co-host Joy Behar revealed that she had been asked to star in the iconic musical HELLO DOLLY on tour. "They sent a request, would I be interested in touring on the road in the show HELLO, DOLLY!" shared the comedian. She went on to joke, "Even if I decided to go on the road, I don't sing and I don't dance - problems!" Watch the clip below!

Behar is a comedic original and a leading woman both on stage and screen. She received an Emmy Award for her performance on The View, where she was a member of the cast for sixteen years. She also hosted her own talk shows, The Joy Behar Show on HLN and Say Anything on Current TV. In 2015, she appeared off-Broadway in her one woman show, ME, MY MOUTH AND I.

Joy Behar Challenges Trump Over His Revenge Tour Warning For Political Rivals

Joy Behar invited Donald Trump to put the names of “ The View ” hosts on his “enemies list” after he argued in favor of prosecuting his political rivals if he gets elected president again.

On Friday, Behar mocked the former president for telling Univision — which had asked about his claims of a Justice Department and FBI “weaponized” against him — that he could go after his opponents if he saw them “doing well” and beating him “very badly.”

“If I happen to be president and ... I say ‘go down and indict them,’ mostly they would be out of business, they’d be out of the election,” said Trump, who also described the criminal indictments he himself faces as “pathetic.”

Behar said the former president is “losing it” and asked her show’s panel whether voters would respond to his “constant whining about being a victim.”

She also compared Trump’s remarks to “ [former President Richard] Nixon’s enemies list ,” while co-host Sunny Hostin questioned whether history is repeating itself.

“Every century or so, or every couple of decades, this type of thing keeps on happening,” Hostin said. “It feels like McCarthyism . It feels like [former FBI Director] J. Edgar Hoover’s list .”

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin claimed that Trump, who has pleaded not guilty in his criminal cases, is running for president for two reasons: to “stay out of jail” and to “get revenge on his enemies.”

The show’s panel went on to name people formerly in Trump’s corner who have turned into critics, before Behar asked if her co-hosts could be on his enemies list.

“What about us?” she said. “Try it. Go ahead, try it. We have this show every day, OK, Donald?”

The View’s Joy Behar Gives a Tour of Her Hamptons Home and Shows Off the Wacky Gift She Got from Whoopi Goldberg

Joy Behar has an unusual collection in her lady cave.

“I like to have a lot of overweight women around. It makes me feel a little thinner,” The View co-host, 74, jokes, while pointing out choice paintings in her Hamptons home. “There’s nothing more boring than skinny women.”

Beyond the eclectically decorated room that she sets aside just for herself, the 100-year-old house boasts a classic style with details like corbels that, she points out in her signature deadpan, “look a little like a breast.” Personal artwork that pays homage to the street in Brooklyn where Behar grew up, a cozy fireplace, and a sprawling room just for entertaining are just a few of the standouts in the TV star’s vacation home. In the bright, white kitchen, a wacky voodoo-doll-like knife holder displayed on her counter was a gift from a very special coworker.

“This thing looks ominous, but Whoopi gave this to me for a Christmas gift one year,” Behar says. “I kind of like it, but it’s a little scary.”

In her dining room, a round table is equipped to handle eight, the maximum number of guests she likes to have when hosting dinner parties.

“After eight I think it gets too loud and annoying and then you’re stuck with the people next to you,” she says. “This way everybody talks.”

When she’s not planning to greet guests or whipping up a lasagna in the kitchen, though, Behar is relaxing on her simple linen couch.

“I’ll plop myself in this seat, I watch TV with a glass of wine and the fireplace and I’m as happy as ever,” she says.

Joy Behar Brutally Mocks Bill Belichick’s Relationship With 24-Year-Old On ‘The View’: “By The Time She’s 48 He’ll Be In An Urn On A Mantle”

Joy Behar proved she’s a realist on this morning’s episode of The View , delivering some cold, hard truths during a chat about former Patriots coach Bill Belichick and his headline-making romance with a woman 48 years his junior.

The Hot Topics table dove right into a debate about Belichick and his relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, whom he first met in 2021 on a flight from Boston to Florida, per TMZ . The outlet reports that the two became romantic after he split from Linda Holliday in 2022.

“This girl is hearing wedding bells. But the question is, can he hear them?” Behar quipped on today’s show.

Behar wasted no time crafting some comedic material out of Belichick’s dating life, even comparing his latest relationship to her hypothetically dating Timothée Chalamet . (For the record, if Behar were to strike up a fling with Chalamet, it would be an even bigger age gap with 53 years between the two. Not to mention, he’s still going strong with Kylie Jenner , so Behar’s out of luck this time around.)

When Sara Haines defended Belichick and Hudson’s romance, saying he likely takes the former cheerleader “places she wouldn’t be going on her own,” Behar just couldn’t resist, exclaiming, “Not in the bedroom, he’s not!”

She added, “There’s only so much Viagra in the world, OK?”

Ana Navarro then chimed in to challenge Behar, telling her, “I actually disagree with you on that,” before pointing to Robert De Niro (who became a dad again at age 79) and telling her, “the issue of whether you can have sex or not at age 80 is no longer a question.”

“Older men are a lot of times better lovers, because they gotta work at it more,” Navarro added, but Behar wasn’t buying it.

“Ana,” she said sternly. “The guy is 48 years [older] — by the time she’s 48, he’ll be in an urn on a mantel.”

But Navarro saw the silver lining: “And rich!” she noted, which even Behar couldn’t deny.

Nodding her head, she admitted, “And she’ll be rich. Let’s not be romantic about it and let’s talk the truth here. It’s about the cash.”

One thing’s for certain — Behar is definitely not hearing wedding bells, either.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.

Joy Behar Under Fire for Calling Donald Trump Supporters 'Not Real Christians' on 'The View'

The View versus Donald Trump. ABC's daytime talk show moderator Joy Behar earned the wrath of people online for calling Trump supporters "not real Christians." Recently, on the show, the 81-year-old comedian along with her fellow all-female panelists discussed Christianity, other religions, and the Ten Commandments on the show aired on Thursday, June 20, 2024. 

The panelists were weighing in on the passing of a controversial bill requiring Louisiana public schools and colleges to display the Ten Commandments in classrooms. Naturally, the topic deviated to the former president where Behar suggested it'd be better if they posted the Commandments at Mar-a-Lago for Trump to revise them since, according to her, he's broken all of them. She also aimed at his supporters, calling them "so-called" Christians. 

However, her remarks didn't sit well with MAGA fans who ripped her online. An account on X, formerly Twitter, @Bubblebathgirl posted the video clip from the show and captioned, "Joy Behar on The View just said anyone voting for President Trump isn't a real Christian. This blanket attack is wrong. But it's fair to say Biden isn't a real Christian. He supports late-term abortion and kept Christian symbols out of the White House." 

More voices condemned her "not Christians" comments like @CJB4221 who questioned Behar's own "Christianness,"

"I sincerely doubt she understands what a Christian believes. I see no evidence she is one." @Amoreena1968  echoed, "Truthfully, it's painful to watch any clip at all from the view, but I did watch this one because I am a Christian. First of all, I would like to know who anointed Joy Behar, God?"

@TheClampdown agreed, "Like Joy Behar is an expert on Christianity!" Meanwhile, @jojo04631317 tagged Behar and tried to reason, "I understand your frustration with the election but comments like your on Christian's will only make them stronger. U can't say what's wrong with these folks. We went down that road with deplorables. Look where it got you. can't put people down." 

Sara Haines shared her concern about putting the Ten Commandments in Louisiana schools, "This would be concerning to me. Not because the message is bad. Put it into your own words. Hang things about being good to people. I don't need my young child asking about adultery on the way home from school." 

Meanwhile, Behar chimed in, "They want to post this in schools. I say post this at Mar-a-Lago and put a picture of Stormy Daniels right next to it. You know he has broken 11 commandments and there's a waitlist. I mean, this guy has gone above and beyond, and yet these Christians now, these so-called Christians, now are going to vote for him," as per the Washington Examiner. 

"All I know is that there are a lot of people who say they're Christians who are voting for him," the Comedian scoffed to which Haines interjected, "I'm a Christian and I'm not voting for him," Behar affirmed, "I know that about you, and I don't think anyone on this panel is voting for him. But they're out there." 

She concluded by complaining, "It just seems ironic that he's broken every law of every commandment and they think he's the one to vote for. What's the matter with everybody?"

What she has in her "woman cave" is too funny!

"I like to have a lot of overweight women around. It makes me feel a little thinner," The View co-host says in a house tour video with PEOPLE . "There's nothing more boring than skinny women."

Not only does Behar say the house has most of its original detailing, along the tour she boasts another favorite spot in her home: her living room, where she spends evenings watching TV and sipping wine in front of a fire. How lovely does that sound?!

As she gives the tour, you can tell Behar takes a lot of pride in her home that's filled with original Brooklyn-themed artwork and an impressive sense of interior design. (Just look at that all-white kitchen!) Behar says she "appreciates every single thing" about her home since she grew up in a tenement in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Another rule Behar sticks to? She only likes eight people to attend dinner parties she hosts. If it gets more than that, she says, it becomes annoying and "you're stuck with the people next to you!"

All About Joy Behar's Daughter Eve Behar

Joy Behar and her daughter, Eve Behar, are supportive of each other's pursuits.

Eve, The View co-host’s only child, whom she shares with her ex-husband Joseph Behar, was born in New York on Nov. 26, 1970.

While Eve lives a largely private life, she has shared photos and messages about her daytime talk show host mom over the years. In a Mother’s Day post shared on Instagram in 2020, Eve posted a hand-drawn portrait of her son Luca kissing Joy on the cheek.

“Happy Mother’s Day to my mom and all the rest of us bad asses,” she wrote. “Dog moms, goat moms. Etc. everyone who helps raise the young ones. Nannies, friends, aunts.”

Eve, who was 11 when her mom tried out stand-up for the first time, has opened up over the years about her experience watching Joy succeed as a comedian.

“She did pretty well pretty fast,” Eve said in Joy Behar: Left Front Center , a 2010 CBS News Sunday Morning special about her mother’s career. “I think once she made the decision, she said, ‘This is it, I’m going for it.’ ”

She grew up in Queens, New York

In 1962, Joy married a college sociology professor and author named Joseph Behar, and they welcomed Eve on Nov. 26, 1970, in New York.

During her big city childhood, Eve managed to connect to nature and animals, according to her website .

“In Eve’s early years, she was lucky to live next to Forest Park and loved exploring what seemed like deep woods even though Queens Boulevard was right there,” her biography explains.

She was 11 when her mom pursued stand-up comedy

Joy and Joseph divorced in 1981 after 16 years of marriage, and Joy started her comedy career soon after.

Before embarking on her new career path, Joy was a high school English teacher who worked with kids “who’d had an entanglement with law enforcement,” according to a 2022 TIME profile .

"It was difficult,” Joy told Parade in 2010 about balancing her new career and motherhood. “I felt conflicted. But I was broke after my divorce, and at 39, I got fired from my day job."

She continued, "When I look back, I don't think I would do it if I knew all that I had to go through. But I didn't know what else to do to make money. Also, my mother was still alive, so Eve had always her as a back up babysitter. Eve's father was there [too]."

She was 12 when Joy met her now-husband Steve Janowitz

Joy waited 29 years to wed Steve Janowitz, a middle school math teacher. The couple started dating in 1982 but didn’t officially tie the knot until Aug. 11, 2011.

Joy and Eve have consistently lived near each other, and Joy shared in a 2009 interview that they were living in the same New York City apartment building and would routinely get facials and pedicures and go shopping together.

In 2015, Joy and Janowitz purchased a home in Sag Harbor, New York, the same Long Island village where Eve and her family live.

“I started with a small, very modest house in Sagaponack,” she told Behind the Hedges about her real estate ventures in 2021. “Then to a ‘less modest’ house in East Hampton.”

She worked as a TV producer before becoming a ceramicist

Eve dabbled in the entertainment industry before becoming a full-time ceramicist. In 2000, she was an associate producer for 10 episodes of the TV series Strangers with Candy , which starred Stephen Colbert , Paul Dinello and Amy Sedaris.

Her current role as a ceramicist in Sag Harbor was a passion that sparked early on in childhood. “With tremendous family support, trying all different forms of art from drawing to dance to acting, when Eve came upon clay, it was a done deal,” her biography reads.

She took ceramics classes all over the city during and after graduating from CUNY Hunter College, even while working as a television producer. In 1995, she moved to Florence, Italy, to study at the Studio Art Center International, where she received a post-baccalaureate degree in ceramics, painting and art history.

In 2001, she became a full-time student at the Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Oakville, Canada, where she spent three years dedicated to her craft. At the end of her tenure there, she earned the best in show award at the school’s graduate show of 2004.

By 2016, Eve was named the gallery director at Celadon Clay Art Gallery in Bridgehampton, New York, and she has taught and served as the president of the Clay Art Guild of the Hamptons.

Joy has shared that her daughter comes from a long line of creatives. “Eve’s grandmother on her father’s side was an artist, and my uncle on my father’s side was an artist, so it’s in the genes,” she said in a 2019 interview.

After living in Canada for three years, Eve returned to New York and married physician assistant Alphonso Anthony Scotti at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City in 2007, per The New York Times .

Two years after Eve’s wedding, Joy expressed her sentiments about becoming a grandmother someday.

“I presume it will be a lot easier when I'm a grandparent because I won’t have full-time duty,” she said. “I mean, people always say ‘if I knew this was going to be so good, I would’ve had grandchildren first.’ ”

“Luca is 8 months old. He’s extremely brilliant,” Joy told Anderson Cooper on his talk show Anderson Live in 2011. “He says various things: Mama, Dada, E=MC².”

"It's just like you're in love again,” she continued. “You know when you're first in love with a guy, and you're running towards each other in slow motion. You just can't get enough of each other. It's like that, only it's your baby.”

In November 2020, Eve posted an Instagram series showing photography her son worked on for her.

“My 9 yo wanted to help me with some photography- turns out he is a real pro AND he used some photo editing program to jazz up a few images,” she captioned the post. “I have to pay him in Robux though.”

Eve is also a mom to her dog, Jack. In May 2024, she shared a series of photos on Instagram that concluded with a “bonus reel of Jack loving live!"

SNYDE | Joy Behar mocks Bill Belichick for 24-year-old girlfriend: ‘Only so much Viagra’

The comedian, 81, debated the pair’s romance on “The View” Friday morning. While some of her co-hosts were willing to give the former New England Patriots head coach , 72, and his 24-year-old beauty queen  girlfriend the benefit of the doubt, doubts were all Behar had.

“Belichick is 72 and his girlfriend is 48 years younger. … This girl is hearing wedding bells. But the question is, can he hear them?” Behar joked. “It would be like if I were going out with Timothée Chalamet. … There’s only so much Viagra in the world.”

“Let’s not be romantic about it, and let’s talk the truth,” Behar continued. “It’s about the cash.”

“Would she be with him if his net worth wasn’t $70 million?” Alyssa Farah Griffin asked in agreement.

Other hosts, meanwhile, seemed to defend the relationship, with Ana Navarro citing her own marriage to man 24 years her senior before going on to give a number of other examples.

While Sara Haines acknowledged the relationship could well be “transactional,” she said Hudson is simply a young woman just “having a good time.”

“I’m guessing he takes her places that she wouldn’t be going on her own,” she added.

“Not in the bedroom,” Behar quipped.

Sources told TMZ last week that the controversial couple got together in 2022 , not long after Belichick called it quits with longtime partner Linda Holliday . They reportedly met on a 2021 flight, at which point they “bonded over a philosophy project” the Miss Maine hopeful was working on for school.

Each of Belichick’s kids — Amanda, Steve and Patriots’ safeties coach Brian — are older than his girlfriend, who got a subtle shoutout at the recent Netflix recent roast of Tom Brady .

The “View” co-host, 81, went in on Bill Belichick’s new romance with a woman nearly five decades his junior during Friday’s episode of the talk show.

“This week, the legendary football coach Bill Belichick was seen in public with his new girlfriend, Jordan Hudson ,” Behar began the show’s Hot Topics segment.

“Normally, a day out with your new squeeze wouldn’t raise any eyebrows — except for the fact that Belichick is 72, and his girlfriend is 48 years younger.”

Page Six has verified that Hudson is actually 23, not 24.

“You heard that right,” Behar went on. “This girl is hearing wedding bells, but the question is: Can he hear them?”

She joked that when the former New England Patriots head coach asked Hudson how old she was, the brunette beauty “said, ‘This many [while holding up her fingers]!'”

When Sara Haines predicted that Belichick “takes [Hudson] places that she wouldn’t be going on her own,” Behar chimed in, “Not in the bedroom, he’s not! There’s only so much Viagra in the world, OK?”

Behar later asked her co-hosts to not romanticize the relationship, as — in her mind — “it’s about the cash.”

Belichick — who parted ways with the Patriots in January after winning six Super Bowls with the team — has a reported net worth of $70 million.

Meanwhile, Hudson is a cheerleader who attended Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts from 2019 to 2022.

The pair reportedly met on a flight in 2021 while bonding over a philosophy project the then-college student was working on.

Belichick even  signed Hudson’s textbook  at the time, writing, “Jordon, Thanks for giving me a course in logic! Safe travels!”

They exchanged numbers and, although their relationship was friendly at first, things allegedly turned romantic only after the sports analyst split from his girlfriend of 10 years, Linda Holliday .

However, Belichick and Hudson were first  spotted together  as early as January 2023, seven months before Page Six broke the news of his awkward breakup with Holliday.

After Belichick and Hudson’s romance first made headlines last week, it was reported that his shirtless walk of shame from November 2023 took place outside her home following a rendezvous.

Earlier this week, the couple enjoyed an afternoon in Nantucket aboard his boat before they engaged in PDA at the exclusive Boarding House club .

The View 's Joy Behar praises Anthony Michael Hall for staying 'normal' because most 'child actors were all nuts'

The "Breakfast Club" actor credited his down-to-earth nature to growing up in New York City and "my tough, Irish-Italian, Catholic mom."

Joy Behar is proud that Anthony Michael Hall survived growing up in the spotlight of the 1980s with his priorities still in tact. She praised the actor, who stars in the new Netflix film Trigger Warning , at the end of their conversation on Friday’s episode of The View . 

“You turned out normal,” Behar noted, “a lot of those child actors are all nuts.” To which her cohost Sara Haines jokingly replied, “How well do you know him after these five minutes?”  

But Behar felt confident in her assessment. “I can tell,” she said. “He likes being a father. He likes being a husband. Come on, I don’t need more than that.”

Hall kick-started his acting career on several television shows before landing the role of Rusty Griswold in National Lampoon’s Vacation at 14 years old. His solid performance opposite comedy legend Chevy Chase caught the attention of Vacation writer John Hughes , who would go on to cast Hall in several of his now-classics, including Sixteen Candles , The Breakfast Club , and Weird Science .

But, despite starring in some of the biggest films of the '80s, Hall said that his mom always kept him grounded. “I was raised right here in New York City — let’s give it up for NYC — so it keeps you real. That and my tough, Irish-Italian, Catholic mom, she kept me real too. Me and my sister Mary,” Hall explained. “So thank God I had that foundation of my faith and my family and just kept pressing on.”

The View hosts also noted that Sixteen Candles celebrated its 40th anniversary earlier this year, and played a clip from the film in which Hall’s character Ted, a.k.a the Geek, serves up a cocktail for Jake (Michael Schoeffling).  Sunny Hostin added that she was especially impressed by Hall's bartending skills in the scene because he was only 16 at the time.

Hall remembered the moment fondly. “My memory is getting on set and John [Hughes] looked at me and he’s like, ‘We’re gonna get the Sinatra song,’ and then I put on the apron and then I get the cocktail nuts, and I’m crossing my leg like an old man, it just cracked him up,” he recalled. “We were laughing our asses off just shooting that scene. It was really fun.” 

Although he can't quite believe so much time has gone by since then. “It’s a trip to have movies that are 40 years old,” he said. “Whoa! I’m still here. It’s wonderful. It’s a real gift.”

Behar was joined by her co-hosts Sunny Hostin , Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, and during the episode, she initiated a conversation about the 48-year age gap between the two lovers.

As the show unfolded, Behar continued taking swipes at Belichick and Hudson's relationship while Hostin, argued that it wouldn't be nearly as controversial if a woman were dating a significantly younger man.

Haines chimed in with her perspective on the situation, stating all the advantages that Hudson was likely reaping from dating an older, successful man like Belichick. However, Behar remained skeptical, especially when it come to the couple's intimate life. Behar sarcastically remarked: "Not in the bedroom, he's not...There's only so much Viagra in the world, okay? " Then she issued a blunt prediction: "The guy is 48 [years older,] by the time she's 48, he'll be in an urn on a mantel."

One user juxtaposed a photo of 26-year old Anna Nicole Smith with her 89-year-old husband J.Howard Marshall II, commenting: "Bill Belichick's 24 year old girlfriend has a degree in philosophy and her favorite philosopher is Anna Nicole Smith. #TheView."
