Passengers on board the Noosa Queen river cruise will enjoy a relaxing journey along the beautiful Noosa River.

The lunch cruise will take you North, up past Richard Branson’s Makepeace Island and the Cable Ferry Crossing, to Lake Cooroibah where lunch will be served. Enjoy the serenity, wildlife and fauna of the upper reaches of the Noosa River, where the Whistling Kites and other wild birds can be seen up close as they often land on the boat for a handout!

• Our lunch Cruises run Monday to Friday from 12 – 2:30pm, subject to weather and minimum numbers
• Exact boarding & departure times will be confirmed at the time of booking

We are located at 2 Parkyn Court, Tewantin. Nick our Skipper will be your first point of contact at 4pm boarding for a 4.30pm departure. He will be awaiting your arrival by the main glass door on the Marina so please meet us there.

What are the booking terms and conditions?

With being a floating restaurant, we are faced with more challenges than most other restaurants. Structure and patience is required for us to operate within the standards that we aspire to.

We require a minimum number of 6 adults to run the dinner cruise. Therefore, we kindly ask you to understand and keep in mind that we may need to cancel the cruise and reschedule you to another day. Please keep an eye on your booking to ensure it is a confirmed cruise. If we cancel your cruise you are entitled to a full refund or a rescheduled date.

First Friday chalk art theme and Darick Frady show

Chalk art will decorate the sidewalks during the June First Friday event in downtown Canton.

Artists will be stationed throughout downtown working on pieces during Chalk the Walk.

Festivities, running 5-9:30 p.m. June 7, also will include a variety of art shows, live music and fun for children.

A food truck court will be in the parking lot of the Eric Snow YMCA, between Third and Fourth streets NW. Street vendors also will be downtown selling various goods.

Youth activities also will take place inside the YMCA, including inflatables for young children and basketball games, as well as a dance party for ages 12 to 17.

A summer dance party on Fourth Street will run 5-9 p.m., hosted by Nikolina from radio station Q92 in Alliance.

Art exhibitions include the work of Darick Frady at Silo Arts Studio, 431 Fourth St. NW.

Digital art and fan art will be featured, including pop culture imagery. Media includes colored pencils and markers, as well as painting. Subject matter includes professional wrestling, '80s heroes, cartoons and movies.

Frady, who has been creating art at Silo since 2017, also plans to unveil a large-scale art piece.

The June 7 art show will run 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Silo Arts Studio.

"Being an artist means a lot of things I love about it," said Frady, who has been drawing since he was a child.

Art shows also will be at Patina Arts Centre , 324 Cleveland Ave. NW; and The Hub Art Factory , 336 Sixth St. NW.

The Hub plans a resident artist showcase from 5-10 p.m. Patina will present the ROYGBIV Pride Palette Exhibition: Celebrating Diversity Through Color from 5-10 p.m. in a leadup to the Stark Pride Festival Saturday at Canton's Centennial Plaza.

Inspired by the colors of the rainbow, the exhibition invites artists from the LGBTQ community to "explore the profound significance of color in their lives and express their unique perspectives through art," Patina said in its announcement.

Third year for event 'American Idol' finalist headlining Stark Pride Festival in downtown Canton

BZTAT Studios , located inside Canton Creator Space, 730 Market Ave. S, will feature an exhibit of new artwork by A2A Collective Artists and a final showing of Celestial Exploring Curiosities in Art.

Strauss Studios , 236 Walnut Ave. NE, plans a closing reception from 6-9 p.m. Friday of Exploring Light and Darkness, featuring the work of Emily Orsich, Heather Bullach, Mary Crane Nutter and Joe Ostrowske. Live music will be performed by Jeff Boyd.

Canton Comedy Boom also plans a free show at 8 p.m. Friday in the downstairs event space at Patina Arts Centre. Local comedians will be cracking jokes. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for the show, which is sponsored by Deli Ohio.

First Friday music: Yacht rock, COMPASS and open mic

First Friday fun also includes live music, featuring Böaterhead  on the Centennial Plaza stage in the Summer Concert Series presented by Jerzee's Cafe. The concert begins at 6 p.m.

Böaterhead , which is performing across Ohio this summer, describes itself as a Cleveland-based, six-piece yacht rock party band celebrating the hit songs of the late '70s and early '80s.

Performing at 6:30 p.m. outside of 2 Scoopz ice cream shop, 138 Fifth St. NW, will be COMPASS, a pop rock band featuring siblings from Jackson Township.

Earlier this year, COMPASS competed in and advanced to the finals of the Tri-C High School Rock Off at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

COMPASS features Arianna Kefalas and Harrison Kefalas, both Jackson High School students, and their younger brother, Johnny Kefalas. The band recently released an EP, featuring the new song, "Stay a While," a melody-rich and uptempo ballad with touches of acoustic style guitar and keyboards.

"Only Care About You" is a spritely, sentimental pop rocker and three-minute sprint propelled by electric guitar riffing and deft drumming.

COMPASS also plays cover songs, including Fleetwood Mac, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift.

All Circles Media will present an Open Mic party featuring Canton-based rapper and hip-hop artist Nicasso Turpin , as well as November Williams, 3G Internet and Rogueones.

Admission is free. Music will be 7-10 p.m. The format also will be open to other rappers, singers and instrumentalists.

Local rock band The Intangibles will perform a free show starting at 6:30 p.m. outside Gator's Joint , 235 Cleveland Ave. NW.

Johnny Cash tribute band in Minerva on Saturday

Johnny Cash tribute band Cash4Life will kick off Minerva's summer concert series at 7 p.m. Saturday at Municipal Park.

Cash4Life is from Pittsburgh, and performs music from Cash's career, as well as a few other classic rock songs.

The public is asked to bring chairs or blankets for seating at the free concert. Municipal Park is on Preston Street, adjacent to Minerva High School, which is at 501 Almeda Ave.

Other shows at Municipal Park will include bluegrass band Hunter Skeens and the Forerunner s on July 20 and DJ's Rock N Roll Big Band on Aug. 31.

Stark Pride at Centennial Plaza

The  Stark Pride Festival  will mark its third year on Saturday with a celebration featuring food trucks, drag performers and an "American Idol" finalist.

The LGBTQ+ event will be 2 to 10 p.m. at  Centennial Plaza  in downtown Canton. Headlining the entertainment will be singer  David Hernandez , who advanced to the top 12 on the "American Idol" television show in 2008.

The event features speakers, vendors, community organizations, dancing and activities for youth. The festival will begin with a march around 1:15 p.m. leaving from the Cultural Center for the Arts, 1001 Market Ave. N, and ending at Centennial Plaza, 330 Court Ave. NW.

Opening ceremonies will be at 2 p.m., featuring performances by the Bluecoats drum and bugle corps and EN-RICH-MENT Fine Arts Academy's drumline.

Musical performances start at 3 p.m. with regional artists Angie Haze, followed by The Scenic Route at 4:30 p.m.  Mellow Villains  will take the stage at 6 p.m. before Cleveland-based band FunkyardX performs at 7:30 p.m.

Hernandez  performs at 9 p.m.  FunkyardX  and Hernandez' shows are being funded through a Cultural Tourism Grant from ArtsinStark and Visit Canton.

Massillon Cruise-In & Music Festival

A  free car show with live music  will be noon to 9 p.m. Saturday in downtown Massillon on Lincoln Way between First Street NW and Third Street NE.

The new event replaces the former Cruise-On-In & Dance Party, which ceased in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bands will include New Wave Nation (an '80s tribute band) and Jimmie Jack Band ('90s alternative rock).

Hundreds of classic and modern cars will be showcased. Food vendors and fireworks also will be featured.

USA Today recognizes Showboat Branson Belle as country's 2nd Best Boat Tour

Silver Dollar City is once again recognized for one of its popular attractions.

USA Today 10Best announced on Wednesday that the Showboat Branson Belle received second place for the Best Boat Tour in the country. A part of the Silver Dollar City theme park, the Showboat Branson Belle wraps up a two-hour cruise, three-course meal and show into one experience on Table Rock Lake.

Tickets are available on the Silver Dollar City website at silverdollarcity.com/showboat-branson/ . General seating tickets start at $69 for adults and $42 for children ages 4-11.
