Peter Kay at London’s O2 Arena: timings and everything you need to know

The legendary comedian’s massive residency at the O2 Arena continues this weekend

Whether you’ve been a fan since the days of That Peter Kay Thing or you’ve recently discovered his sketches on TikTok, the chances are you’re familiar with Peter Kay, one of the UK ’s most beloved comedians. And that’s shown by the sheer number of gigs he’s playing this year – in fact, Kay is the first ever artist to perform a monthly residency at Greenwich’s massive O2 Arena.

A heck of a lot of Londoners are going to get to see Peter Kay live over the next 12 months, and those gigs continue this weekend. This Saturday (January 6), Kay takes to the O2 as part of his first tour in 12 years. Here’s everything you need to know about the show – and all the ones after that.

Peter Kay’s next show at the O2 is on Saturday, January 6 2024 .

Comedian Peter Kay has announced he is returning to stand-up before the end of the year, with his first live comedy tour in 12 years.

“If there’s ever a time people need a laugh, it’s now,” wrote Kay on Facebook when he announced the tour. “And, with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010.”

The tour will traverse the length of the UK and Ireland, starting in 2022 and continuing into 2023.

This comes after the comedian already surprised fans with “secret” shows over the past few weeks, with audiences delighted to see Kay’s return to the stage.

Soon after the annoucement, Kay said that he couldn’t believe it had made headline news. “I should only be on the news if I’m dead, not if I’m on tour,” he joked.

“You’ve got to meet people halfway, it’s bad times, plus that’s why people need a laugh,” he added.

“I think that’s why it was on the news because it was something happy for once and not doom and gloom.”

In addition to his tour, Kay has announced that he will also be performing a monthly residency at the O2 Arena, at Greenwich. He will become the first comedian to be given his own residency at the venue.

“There’s basically been me and Prince who have done it and look what happened to him,” Kay joked, making reference to the US musician’s death in 2016.

Peter Kay is performing his first stand-up show at The O2 Arena after a 12-year break as part of his UK-wide tour. With over one hundred dates lined up, Peter’s highly anticipated show will be running until March 20, 2025.

Earlier this year, Peter Kay confirmed a monthly residency at The O2, London starting on Friday, December 16, 2022, until Saturday, November 18, 2023.

Here’s everything you need to know about getting tickets to see Peter Kay, as well as start times, bag policy and how to get to the O2 Arena in London.

What is the start time?

Peter Kay will be taking to the stage on Saturday, September 9. Earlier this year, doors to the concourse open at 5.30pm and the doors to the arena at 6.30pm. His show is expected to kick off at 8pm.

He is doing is show once a month. The ones taking place this year are October 7, November 18 and December 16. Check out the full list of dates here .

Where can I buy tickets?

There are limited tickets available for Peter Kay's residency at The O2 but you can purchase last minute tickets from either Ticketmaster , AXS and Gigs and Tours.

Tickets are currently sold out on SeeTickets .

Bag policy at the O2 Arena

The O2 allows small bags and handbags, one per person. Small bags are considered to be no larger than an A4 piece of paper.

Backpacks, travel cases, laptops, iPads, GoPros, laptop bags and large tote bags are not permitted inside the arena. But if you need to bring a large bag, visitors will need to leave it at the bag storage facility just outside the main entrance to The O2. This will cost £10 per bag.

How to get there:

The closest tube station to The O2 Arena is North Greenwich (Jubilee line) Buses 108, 129, 132, 161, 188, 422, 472 or 486 all stop at the tube station. Book UK and European trains - including cheap Eurostar tickets - on Trainline .

Peter Kay Announces Return to Stand-up with First Live Tour in Twelve Years

• Following the announcement of a nationwide arena tour, Peter Kay has confirmed a monthly residency at The O2, London, starting on Friday 16 December 2022 until Saturday 18 November 2023
• O2 and Virgin Media broadband customers will have access to Priority Tickets to the whole tour from Thursday 10 November at 10am – 48 hours before general release

Wednesday 9 November: Peter Kay is back with his first stand-up tour for 12 years which will see him perform in venues across the UK and includes a monthly residency at The O2, London, starting on Friday 16 December 2022.

O2 and Virgin Media broadband customers will be able to access Priority Tickets to his whole tour 48 hours before general release.

Priority Tickets are on sale from 10am on Thursday 10 November via this link . General sale tickets will be available from Saturday 12 November.

O2 and Virgin Media customers can access Priority completely free. All they have to do is register by visiting the website or downloading the Priority app.

2016 will see The Godfather of Electronic Music, Jean-Michel Jarre perform on Friday 7 October 2016 to perform a spectacular live show for the first time in six years.

Famed for staggering visuals and the use of cutting-edge digital technology, which has been seen by millions of people around the world, the new live show promises yet again to be a truly immersive musical journey, with Jarre set to showcase brand new music from his stunning two-part LP, Electronica , alongside classic material from previous albums such as Oxygene and Equinoxe .

It can be said that a couple of decades ago, Jarre was the first to create the multimedia concert experience as we know it today. His live concert history is unprecedented – every household in the UK remembers the Docklands Concert – and Jarre has set and broken Guinness World records including one for an audience of 2.5 million in front of La Défense skyline, Paris.  The Frenchman also performed to 3.5 million in Moscow to celebrate the city’s 850th birthday and held a very special show for the Royal Wedding in Monaco in 2011, which was broadcasted worldwide to an estimated audience of 3 billion.  Jarre’s format of out-door concert performance has contributed to break the ground for out-door live cultural events. With a unique and brand-new super production, he will share the energy of his macro concerts with the emotions of a true arena experience.
