First off, pricing details: while all the regular-sized monthly releases will be available for direct purchase at $65 USD each (a month after subscriber deliveries go out), fans who subscribe to the new  Official Starships Collection program will receive each monthly ship for $55 USD each — with an additional $10 discount on the first delivery.

Ship #1 will be the Constitution III -class  USS Titan (NCC-80102-A), which will measure 8.6″ in length, and is expected to ship to model-program subscribers in November 2024. The ship will later be available for direct purchase to non-subscribers in December.

star trek vans

Ship #2 is the Sagan- class  USS Stargazer   (NCC-82893) at 7.9″, which will ship to subscribers in December 2024 — and will be available for direct purchase in January 2025.

star trek vans

Ship #3 will be the previously-announced Bellerophon -class USS Farragut (NCC-1647) from  Strange New Worlds , likely to follow in January 2025 and measuring 7″ long.

star trek vans

Ship #4 will be the Odyssey -class  USS Enterprise-F in XL size (see below), Ship #5 will be Beverly Crusher’s S.S. Eleos XII, and Ship #6 will be Vadic’s deadly Shrike warship.

star trek vans

In addition to all that, Fanhome also unveiled their plans for XL-sized models, which will be about 2 inches larger than the monthly regular releases. Every fourth release in the new Fanhome program will be an XL-sized ship, with these models kicking things off:

star trek vans

Ship #4 will be the  Odyssey- class USS Enterprise- F as seen in  Picard Season 3, Ship #8 will be the  Constitution III- class  USS Enterprise- G from “The Last Generation,” Ship #12 will be the  Lamarr- class  USS Voyager- A from  Star Trek: Prodigy , and Ship #16 will be the  USS Protostar from  Star Trek: Prodigy.

XL-sized starships will cost $95 each for direct purchases, and $85 each for subscribers.

star trek vans

For those of you who do sign up for the subscription program, Fanhome has already revealed the first of five gifts that will ship out as bonus items as the program proceeds.

Accompanying the third delivery will be a binder for the included magazines and a raktajino mug ; the fourth delivery will include an LCARS graphic reproducing the Titan’s turbolift display ; a reproduction of the USS Titan dedication plaque will come with a subscriber’s tenth delivery; and the twentieth delivery will include the  Pathfinder -class USS Eaves , named for  Trek starship designer John Eaves.

star trek vans

At present, the Fanhome program is not expected to reproduce models previously released through Eaglemoss’ years of starship production… but they already have 20 ships in their initial release slate (14 more than already announced today), with expectations that more ships from  Star Trek: Discovery ,  Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds , and  Star Trek: Prodigy will all be included.

Additionally, right now the ships are only going to be available for subscription to residents of the United States and the United Kingdom, but that may expand once the company’s e-shop opens later this year.

star trek vans

For those of you headed to New York Comic Con in October, expect to see Fanhome’s first in-person display of their new Star Trek model line at Booth #1445 — with more reveals expected during the show.

For more information on Fanhome’s plans, preorder your subscription program, and more, head over to the Fanhome regional websites — for USA residents  and for  UK residents — today.

This Old Minivan is Transformed Into a STAR TREK Shuttlecraft

The Enterprise shuttlecraft has been an important part of Star Trek iconography since the original series aired way back in 1966. But it was Star Trek: The Next Generation which introduced a wider variety of shuttle pod types, and really made them feel like an essential part of any Federation starship in every iteration of the franchise going forward.  And now, thanks to the folks over at Geeks Are Sexy , we’ve learned about one hardcore Trekker who took his love of Starfleet shuttlecrafts to a whole new level.

Cory Mervis-Bocskor is a Star Trek fan and a Burning Man enthusiast. He wanted to hit the annual festival in proper Federation fashion a few years back. It was his hope to represent Star Trek fandom in true style. So he took an old Ford Aerostar minivan and transformed it into the Federation Type 6 shuttlecraft the Goddard. The Goddard appeared in a handful of episodes of  Star Trek: The Next Generation during the show’s fifth and sixth seasons.

Youtube Video

The Goddard has quite a but if history on TNG . It was the Enterprise D’s  shuttle number 15, replacing the shuttlecraft  Magellan lost in the episode “The Outcast”. The Goddard first popped up in the fifth season episode “The Next Phase”. In that episode, Worf and Data flew the Goddard to a damaged Romulan ship. In that incident, Geordi  and Ensign Ro were accidentally phased out of reality and believed to be dead.

James Doohan board the shuttlecraft Goddard in the Next Generation episode Relics

The next time we saw the Goddard was in season six’s “Relics”. In that episode, the Enterprise crew discovers the original series’ Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott (James Doohan) trapped in a transporter loop for 75 years. At the end of the episode, Captain Picard gifts Scotty with the Goddard so he can roam the quadrant and enjoy his retirement at last. Which is kind of weird when you think about it. The shuttle is Starfleet property and not Picard’s own personal ship. But we but all those Starfleet Admirals looked the other way on this one. It was for THE  Scotty after all.

Originally, Gene Roddenberry created the transporters so the budget conscious series could avoid building expensive new sets like shuttles. Not to mention saving on crucial storytelling time; no need for manning a ship flying it to every planet’s surface. Nevertheless, a shuttlecraft was eventually introduced halfway through the first season of the original series. It first appeared in the episode “The Galileo Seven” and it’s been a Star Trek staple ever since.

Anyway, shuttlecrafts are pretty cool.

First Wave From New Star Trek Starships Die Cast Collection Revealed; Pre-Orders Open Today

star trek vans

| September 6, 2024 | By: TrekMovie.com Staff 17 comments so far

The baton for making die-cast Star Trek ships passed to Fanhome earlier this year and today we are getting our first look at the actual models from the first wave. The new Starship Collection launches in November and you can now pre-order ships to extend (or start) your collection.

Fanhome’s Starships Collection begins

Fanhomes’s new collection will cover all the modern Star Trek series including Picard , Strange New Worlds , Discovery , Lower Decks and Prodigy . Fanhome is working with Paramount Global to ensure the models are as accurate as possible and they will all be based on the original visual effects models that were used to make the effects for the show.

The new Official Star Trek Starship Collection is being sold as a monthly subscription service, much like the old Eaglemoss collection, and in fact the series is being supervised by Ben Robinson, who also headed up the Eagelmoss Star Trek products. Fanhome starts taking pre-orders today , September 6th, and the models are expected to ship to customers in early November. The list price for the first ship – the U.S.S. Titan-A (from Picard season 3) – is $44.95. Subsequent ships will be priced at $55.00, all with free shipping and you can cancel any time.

The ships in the collection are constructed with a combination of die-cast metal and high-quality ABS resin. The typical model measures between 7 and 9-inches (180-225 mm) long. The designs are all based on the original visual effects models that were used to produce the shows. Each ship in the new collection comes with a 16-page magazine that profiles the ship in the Star Trek universe and explores the design process with exclusive art and brand-new interviews with the production team.

Fanhome has more than 20 ships planned for the collection. There will also be several oversized replicas of the most significant ships, which will be approximately 11 inches (280 mm) long (available individually and to subscribers for a premium). Subscribers will also get other exclusive gifts. Pre-orders for the subscription service open today.

Ship models will also be available individually the month after they are made available for subscribers.  Individually purchased ships will be priced at $64.99 each plus $5 for shipping.

Will the window alignment be better with these?

Probably, but you won’t be able to see them on the Titan since Captain Shaw liked it dark.

Ùgh, I can answer my own question.

There’s some high res photos on some Facebook groups. Window alignment is terrible.

At these inflated prices, it’s a hard pass for me.

What is the window alignment problem? I’ve heard the term a lot, but it’s nothing that my eyes are obviously drawn to when I look at these pics.

What are people seeing that’s a problem?

The Titan-A / Enterprise-G model looks amazing!

I’ve never heard of an NAR ship designation before. Nice to see they added that. It’s a nice touch to add some “realism” to the ships to me. The Navy has similar ship designations for civilian/support ships that support military operations. Combat ships get the USS (United States Ship) designation while USNS (United States Naval Vessel) is designated a support ship. Likewise the Royal Navy does this with the HMS (His Majesty’s Ship) combat ships and RFA (Royal Fleet Auxiliary).

It’s from the Berman era. The Raven had an NAR registry.

What does NAR stand for?

From an Old time ‘Trekkie’ (the ORIGINAL SERIES), WE were told, at the First New York S.T.Conv., U.S.S., Meant United Star-Ship, NOT United STATES, Starship. Also, the disaster, that almost ended us, was the EUGENICS WARS !

It’s also been call United Space Ship.

NCC and NAR have never been described.

10.6″ XL Odyssey-class… sold!

Per the Fanhome site, other upcoming XL (up to12″) versions are: Enterprise-G-labeled connie 3, Voyager-A & Protostar

Disappointed to see those cursed stands are back. I’ve got a romulan warbird with a cracked nacelle due to the poor quality of these stands.

They straight up don’t deliver to Canada, at all. Looks like they lost out on a collective $1400 from this trekkie.

These all look nice but I just can’t get behind it fully at this price point. I will have to pick and choose instead of collecting all. I really wish that either Star Trek Micro-Machines or something similar would get a relaunch or maybe a line like the Star Wars Micro-Galaxy Squadron could happen but with Star Trek ships.

I would love a new wave of micro machines. They were awesome! A re-release and update are well over due

Not impressed with the lack of detail on the Farragut especially around the bridge, I’d expect more for $55

Why only shipping to US,UK or Germany???! They are losing so much business from global fans.

Every Upcoming Star Trek Movie & TV Show

I want star trek: strange new worlds season 3 even more after jess bush's bts photo , strange new worlds season 3 can set up a star trek movie romance that deserved better.

  • USS Enterprise becomes Star Trek's sole big-name starship in 2025, featured in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
  • Star Trek: Section 31 is the only other Star Trek project scheduled for 2025, potentially without a hero ship.
  • As other Star Trek series end, audiences say goodbye to beloved starships and crews, but the Enterprise carries on.

The USS Enterprise becomes Star Trek 's only big-name starship once again in 2025. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 premieres in 2025 on Paramount+. Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Section 31, the first Star Trek streaming movie, are Star Trek on Paramount+'s only 2025 projects scheduled. Star Trek: Picard ended in 2023, Star Trek: Lower Decks will be over by the end of 2024, and Star Trek: Prodigy season 3 is years away even if Netflix renews it.

When Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premiered in 2022, the prequel set in the 23rd century, brought back the Starship Enterprise as its hero ship. Enterprise, commanded by Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount), is the same starship that Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) leads in Star Trek: The Original Series. Strange New Worlds ' USS Enterprise joined the USS Discovery in Star Trek: Discovery , La Sirena in Star Trek: Picard , the USS Cerritos in Star Trek: Lower Decks , and the USS Protostar in Star Trek: Prodigy. Star Trek: Picard season 3 even brought back the USS Enterprise-D and turned the USS Titan-A into the USS Enterprise-G. Star Trek on Paramount+ used to be full of hero starships.

Star Trek is ending series like Discovery and Lower Decks but renewed Strange New Worlds while setting up new streaming and theatrical movies.

USS Enterprise In Strange New Worlds Becomes Star Trek’s Only Ship Again In 2025

Enterprise has no other big name starships to compete with.

When Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 premieres in 2025, the USS Enterprise will be Star Trek 's one and only starship featured in new Star Trek episodes once more. It's not clear if Star Trek: Section 31 will feature a hero ship of its own. And even if it does, it's unlikely Section 31 will have a ship as famous as the Enterprise, unless it brings back the USS Enterprise-B or introduces the USS Enterprise-C in Star Trek 's 24th century 'lost era. ' But even if that happens, it just reinforces the legacy of the Starship Enterprise as Star Trek 's main ship.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will possibly premiere in 2026, and it's unknown if the series will feature its own hero starship.

Until Star Trek: Deep Space Nine got the USS Defiant and Star Trek: Voyager premiered in 1995, the USS Enterprise dominated Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: The Next Generation with the Enterprise-D. In the 1990s, Star Trek grew to become about more than the voyages of the Enterprise until DS9 and Voyager ended. Starting in 2001, Star Trek: Enterprise 's NX-01 became the franchise's hero ship. After Enterprise was canceled , J.J. Abrams' Star Trek (2009) brought back the 23rd century USS Enterprise in the alternate Kelvin Timeline. Then, when Star Trek: Discovery debuted in 2017, Star Trek became about other ships and crews along with the USS Enterprise.

The USS Enterprise returned at the end of Star Trek: Discovery season 1 and recurred in season 2 before spinning off in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Will Star Trek Fans See USS Discovery, Cerritos, Prodigy, Or Enterprise-G Again?

Star trek is scaling down.

With only Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 and Star Trek: Section 31 streaming on Paramount+ in 2025, and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy possibly in 2026, audiences are saying goodbye to many starships and Star Trek characters they've fallen in love with since Star Trek: Discovery premiered in 2017. Exiting the stage, but hopefully not forever, are the crews and starships of Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and Star Trek: Prodigy. The USS Discovery, USS Enterprise-G, USS Cerritos, USS Voyager-A, and USS Prodigy are all going into drydock, but can some of them return ?

The Starship Enterprise will keep Star Trek's flag flying on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Star Trek: Discovery 's ending sent the USS Discovery to its ultimate fate as seen Star Trek: Short Trek s' "Calypso". The USS Enterprise-G's future is dependent on Star Trek: Legacy , the proposed spinoff of Star Trek: Picard , happening. Audiences dearly hope Netflix greenlights Star Trek: Prodigy season 3 so the young crew of the USS Protostar can return. Meanwhile, Star Trek: Lower Decks ending on Paramount+ may lead to a future on another streaming service, if the audience supports the USS Cerritos' final season. Until any of that happens, the Starship Enterprise will keep Star Trek 's flag flying on Star Trek: Strange New World s.

Ford E-Transit

Ford’s updated e-transit, america’s best-selling electric van, is en route to customers.

Avatar for Peter Johnson

America’s best-selling electric van now has even more range and faster charging. Ford announced on Wednesday that it began shipping the new 2024 E-Transit with enhanced range to customers across North America.

Ford changed the game after introducing the E-Transit in 2020, the all-electric version of its best-selling van. After debuting in 2022, the E-Transit has held the top-selling EV van title ever since.

Despite new competition, like Rivian and GM releasing electric vans, Ford’s E-Transit continues to lead the market. Ford’s electric van remained America’s best-selling electric van, with over 6,301 models sold in the first half of 2024 , more than double compared to the year before.

With 3,401 units sold in Q2 2024 , Ford’s E-Transit had its best quarterly sales since its debut in 2022.

More importantly, Ford said three of every four E-Transit buyers this year are repeat customers, as businesses are looking for lower maintenance and fuel costs associated with EVs.

In March, Ford revealed the updated 2024 E-Transit , which includes a bigger battery with more range and faster charging.

Ford-shipping-new-E-Transit

Ford is now shipping the new 2024MY E-Transit

With 89 kWh (up from 67 kWh) of usable energy, the enhanced-range battery provides up to 159 miles range, 32% more than the current model (108 miles). It can also fast charge (10% to 80%) in 28 minutes.

With new dual onboard chargers, the 2024 E-Transit can deliver a 22% faster charge time when using Ford Pro’s 80A Series 2 charger and software.

The added range and faster charging enable more uses, like refrigerated delivery, which can open up a massive new market for Ford.

Ford’s electric van is assembled at its Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri, while the E-Transit enhanced range battery is made at its Rawsonville Components Plant in Michigan.

Ford opened pre-orders for the 2024 model in April, which starts at $51,095, or $1,100 more than the previous model. However, it qualifies for the federal $7,500 tax credit, which cuts the price to $43,595.

History [ ]

In 2268 the star Minara was about to become a nova . The USS Enterprise visited a scientific outpost studying the star to retrieve the scientists and their data. They discovered the outpost abandoned. Before they could investigate further, Vians captured Kirk , Mr. Spock, and McCoy and subjected them to various torments as part of an arcane plan to awaken the instinct for self-sacrifice in a member of another species . They demonstrated a willingness to sacrifice any number of people in pursuit of this goal. Kirk eventually won freedom for himself and his crew by showing the Vians that they had lost the ability to feel the same benevolent emotions they wished to awaken in their experimental subject. ( TOS : " The Empath ")

In 2269 , Kirk, whose mind was possessed in the body of Janice Lester , attempted to prove to Spock his true identity, explaining how, during their encounter with " the Vians of Minara demanded that we let Bones die, [but] we didn't permit it. " Spock initially explained that those events were recorded , and that " They could have become known to you. " ( TOS : " Turnabout Intruder ")

They could not have been native to the planet on which Kirk found them, as Spock had determined that humanoid life could not have evolved there.

Physiology [ ]

The Vians had grayish skin, their hairless heads were somewhat triangular and feature several prominent ridges.

They also possessed the ability to create detailed mirages of people they had never met and appeared to have the ability to read the minds of humanoids. They also were somewhat resistant to the Vulcan nerve pinch . When employed against them, they were alert again within seconds. ( TOS : " The Empath ")

The Vians were described in episode's script as "[...] tall, in floor-length robes. Their bodies are strong and they move like young men but their faces are old, their heads bald. Their eyes show an intensity of purpose but their expressions are devoid of warmth or emotion. "

In an interview with actor Alan Bergmann , the character "was an interesting challenge." He explained, " I couldn't play "non-Human" -- I could only play a person with very special characteristics: extra calm, extra quiet, etc. The makeups required 2 hours to appy every morning & there was no taking it off at lunch-time; so it necessitated mostly lunching through a straw! Walking around the studio with that fetus-like head created quite a stir! " He further added that " the makeup did give me a feeling for this special person. " ( Minara Nova ( fanzine ; edited by Ruth Berman ), March 1982 , p. 3

Technology [ ]

Lal and Thann

Lal and Thann holding their control units

Technologically, the Vians were extremely advanced by 23rd century Federation standards and were known to wear long robes made of a metal fabric . They possessed a matter-energy scrambler with the capability of transporting an entire population of one planet to a safe location.

Each Vian's control unit was attuned to respond to its owner's thoughts, and no others. The devices could be altered to another thought pattern only with great difficulty. Doing so required a working knowledge of the desired thought pattern and a good deal of time. Once attuned, it could alter the environment around the user, transfer the user or others from point to point in the manner of a transporter , inflict or heal injuries, repel individuals, alter the rate at which time progressed, and generate a type of force field that fed off the energy and emotions exerted by those contained within. Spock was eventually able to suppress his emotions and free himself, but Kirk could not achieve the necessary detachment. Many of the effects were preceded by a flash of light and/or accompanied by a sound. Spock theorized that the flash of light might be the device establishing a link to a remote energy transfer point. ( TOS : " The Empath ")

  • Trivia In the hallways of the Enterprise there are tubes marked "GNDN." These initials stand for "goes nowhere does nothing."
  • Goofs The deck locations for Kirk's Quarters, Sickbay and Transporter Room vary (usually between decks 4-7) throughout the series.

Dr. McCoy : "He's dead, Jim."

  • Crazy credits On some episodes, the closing credits show a still that is actually from the Star Trek blooper reel. It is a close-up of stunt man Bill Blackburn who played an android in Return to Tomorrow (1968) , removing his latex make up. In the reel, He is shown taking it off, while an off-screen voice says "You wanted show business, you got it!"
  • Alternate versions In 2006, CBS went back to the archives and created HD prints of every episode of the show. In addition to the new video transfer, they re-did all of the model shots and some matte paintings using CGI effects, and re-recorded the original theme song to clean it up. These "Enhanced" versions of the episodes aired on syndication and have been released on DVD and Blu-Ray.
