Justice World Tour Miami (1)

The Justice World Tour (formerly known as the Changes Tour and also known as the Justin Bieber World Tour 2021 ) was the fourth (4th) concert tour by Justin Bieber , in promotions of his sixth studio album. The tour was set to promote his previous album, Changes , and begin on May 14, 2020, in Seattle, but the tour was postponed amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Every date was rescheduled twice and the Justice World Tour officially began on February 18, 2022, in San Diego, but concluded on September 4, 2022, in Rio de Janeiro. After it was announced that the remaining dates of the tour would be postponed, Bieber's team formally announced that they would be cancelled.

Background [ ]

During the last quarter of 2019, especially in December, Justin Bieber started teasing his musical comeback via his social media. On December 20, Bieber tweeted that something was going to happen on the December 24, December 31, 2019, as well as on January 3 and 4, 2020. On December 24, he released a video on YouTube where he announced that he would release his fifth album during 2020, on December 31 was released trailer for Justin Bieber: Seasons , first single of His fifth studio album " Yummy " was released on January 3, and on January 13 he announced the first round of dates for his new world tour.

Jaden and Kehlani were originally meant to support the tour as opening acts, but it was announced on Bieber's official website via the touring section that they would no longer be playing on the tour due to new opening act support being added later on.

Justin Bieber will be backed by Canadian Psychedelic Rock band Rhythm Light Orchestra (occasionally known as The Storm) for the upcoming tour.

On March 6, 2020 , several stadium dates were downsized to arena dates, with shows moved to arena venues adjacent to the stadiums, which cited "unforeseen circumstances" from Bieber's team.

On April 1, 2020 , it was announced that the tour will be postponed amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

On July 23, 2020 , Justin Bieber released new tour dates presented by T-Mobile and the rename of the tour, "World Tour 2021".

And on May 6, 2021 , Justin Bieber announced new North American dates presented by T-Mobile and again a new name of the tour. It was renamed "Justice World Tour", following the 6th studio album Justice .

Finally on November 15, 2021 , the dates of the rest of the world were announced, including festivals and Jaden, Harry Hudson, TEO and Eddie Benjamin as opening acts of the world tour.

Life is complicated, unpredictable, scary, difficult. But it's also wonderful, beautiful, exciting, and breathtaking. Sometimes it can be hard, hard to see the wonder and the beauty that's all around me, because I'm so blinded by my problem that's in front of me. Sometimes I'm clouded by fear or shame. Other times I'm clouded by jealousy or insecurity. I've tried to be better, but I keep falling short. I try to be stronger, but there's just those days when I'm weak. I've let go of trying harder and doing better. I trust that God's in control and that He loves me for who I am, and where I am in my life right now. I hold on to Jesus, the sinless one who gave His life so that I can truly live in freedom. You don't have to believe what I believe to belong here. We're all in this together, but if my journey can help you, that's all I want. I love you, people.

Justin Bieber - JUSTICE TOUR BREAKDOWN

Scissor Films partnered with Cole Bennett to create Justin Bieber's visuals for his Justice World Tour, with various environments custom created in Unreal Engine, they were able to their bring virtual production technology to a giant stage where Justin Bieber shot his tour opener in under a day.

Justice Tour visuals storyboard

Justin’s team approached us with their storyboards, and from those, we were able to start planning our work around their specific vision. In order to complete such an ambitious task we previs’d every shot down to the detail. From the camera moves: to lighting, down to every asset. The only way for us to accomplish such heavy CG sequences was to shoot every scene in Virtual Production.

Justice will perform at Glastonbury for the first time in seven years. In an interview with NME , Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay reflected on their long-awaited return to Worthy Farm : “There’s such a long gap between every tour and every album that we always feel that we start again from zero. You know, every time we make something [and] come back, we really feel like rookies again. The world is also changing so fast that, like, really we have no idea what it’s like to play a festival now.”

In a five-star review , NME ’s Thomas Smith called ‘Hyperdrama’, their newest album in eight years, “a blockbuster return” with “their best songs since their 2007 debut”.

Justice is the greatest thing to come out of Paris since Daft Punk. In my opinion, they have earned their place in the Electronic Music hall of fame. These aren’t your typical club/party kind of DJs, These guys sell out arenas worldwide. There music is bigger than a region or genre as it connects to all sorts of people throughout the world. Much like Daft Punk, Justice’s shows are an immersive experience sure to satisfy all the senses. Their unique sound is a gritty mix of guitar riffs and hard synth. They are heavily influenced by Prog Rock and New-wave. From their massive stage to the excellent lighting effects this show felt unlike any event I ever been to. Even if you never heard a Justice Song before it is not difficult to get into the show. Justice is a French duo consisting of Gaspard Michel Andre Auge and Xavier de Rosnay. They are probably the most successful groups to come out of Paris’ famed “Ed Banger Records”. Some of Justice’s biggest hits include D.A.N.C.E., Civilization and Genesis. If you have a chance to go to a Justice show you should definitely go. They rarely ever tour in the states and this is one act that you will not want to miss!

Justice is one of those artists that make you feel larger than life, like you have a purpose, like your purpose is to dance your ass off and never stop. “Do the D-A-N-C-E 1, 2, 3, 4, fight,” you see, they even instruct you on how to accomplish this. I watched them for the first time live in the Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Anybody that has seen a show here knows that the ground shakes incessantly and I for one did not mind at all. My one expectation was to be in awe of the giant light up cross and while I was not amazed by the size of the structure, the rest of the sounds swept me away. That is mostly their intention after all. Justice pulls a lot of their inspiration from Michael Jackson, so expect some of the hippest and slickest kids of our generation getting down with their bad selves in the crowd. Not only did everybody in this crowd have the moves, but they also had the best shoes. This was not so much the case when I saw them at Coachella or HARD Summer, these were also DJ sets and I was not as impressed with them as I was during a live set.

Great show, great venue, good sound, good vibes, good people. The show was a bit better than last time at the WeLoveGreen fest. Always a bit sad they almost don't address the audience, but that's just the way they are. They play good music, that's what we pay for.

The best live experience! Was worth the wait the atmosphere was amazing. The merchandise was awesome too! The support was great and so were the lighting effects! Only wish i could see them again. 10/10 would recommend:)

Wonderful light efects and the show was it, THE BEST SHOW that I have ever seen. The after party with Busy P was a crazy thing, everybody dancing on the dance floor like if the world was going to die.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is visiting Atlanta to promote her new memoir, 'Lovely One'

Associated Press | AP

September 1st, 2024

justice tour intro

Supreme Court Justice  Ketanji Brown Jackson  is stopping by the Atlanta Symphony Hall on Sept. 5 on a high-profile, nationwide tour to promote her new memoir, “Lovely One.”

Jackson, 53, is using the book, publisher Random House says, to trace her family’s rise from segregation to her confirmation as the first Black woman on the nation’s highest court in the span of one generation. “It is the story of the promise of America,” she said in a television interview that aired Sunday.

She also is the first public defender to serve as a justice and she delves into advancing in the legal profession as a woman of color and a mother balancing a demanding career and family life.

Since joining the court in June 2022, Jackson has been the most active participant in the argument sessions, according to the Empirical Scotus website. She has at times taken a liberal approach to originalism, a method of interpreting the Constitution more often used by the court’s conservatives.

In her appearances off the court, she has embraced her history-making role, telling an audience on the day of her ceremonial swearing-in that she has “a seat at the table now and I’m ready to work.”

Jackson kicks off the book tour Tuesday at New York’s Apollo Theater on the same day the book is published.

Just in the first week, Jackson will make stops at major entertainment venues in Washington, Atlanta, Miami, Seattle and San Francisco.

She reported receiving an advance of nearly $900,000 last year from Random House, putting herself in the company of two colleagues, Justices Clarence Thomas and Sonia Sotomayor, who each received advances of a million dollars or more for their memoirs.

The up-from-poverty accounts of Thomas’ “My Grandfather’s Son” and Sotomayor’s “My Beloved World” landed atop The New York Times’ bestseller list for nonfiction. Sotomayor has earned roughly $4 million for the memoir and children’s books she has written since joining the court in 2009.

Last year, The Associated Press  reported  that Sotomayor’s court staff was deeply involved in organizing speaking engagements to sell the books and also prodded colleges and universities to buy them.

The court has referred questions about Jackson’s book tour to her publisher.

The Supreme Court  adopted  its first code of conduct last year in response to sustained criticism over undisclosed trips and gifts from wealthy benefactors to some justices.

The code lacks a means of enforcement and it sets no limit on income justices can earn from books they write. Other outside income from teaching, for example, is capped at about $30,000 a year. The justices are earning $298,500 this year for their work on the court, though Chief Justice John Roberts gets paid a little more.

“A binding code of ethics is pretty standard for judges,” Jackson told CBS’ Sunday Morning.” “And so I guess the question is, ‘Is the Supreme Court any different?’ And I guess I have not seen a persuasive reason as to why the court is different than the other courts.” She said she does not “have any problem with an enforceable code” and is considering supporting an enforcement mechanism “as a general matter,” but would not comment on “particular policy proposals.”

Democratic President Joe Biden has proposed an  enforceable code of ethics .

Jackson began work on the book shortly after joining the court. The book’s title comes from the English translation of Ketanji Onyika, the name suggested by an aunt who at the time was a Peace Corps worker in West Africa.

“My parents really wanted to honor our heritage and asked her to send them a list of African names. And they picked that one, Lovely One, Ketanji Onyika, which is my given middle name,” she told CBS.

Jackson was born in the District of Columbia and grew up in Miami. She has traced her interest in the law to when she was in preschool and her father, Johnny Brown, was in law school and they would sit together at the dining room table, she with coloring books and he with law books. Her father became an attorney for the county school board and her mother, Ellery Brown, was a high school principal. She has a brother, nine years younger, who served in the Army, including in Iraq, and is now a lawyer.

Justice Neil Gorsuch also has been on the road this summer with  his new book , “Over Ruled: The Human Toll of Too Much Law,” written with Janie Nitze, a former law clerk to Gorsuch. Gorsuch has reported receiving advances for the book totaling $500,000.

Yet another justice has a book in the works. Justice Amy Coney Barrett received $425,000 in 2021 as part of a book deal with Sentinel, a conservative imprint of Penguin Random House.

Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson Kicks Off Book Tour

WASHINGTON, DC - SEPTEMBER 30: U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson stands for a photo in front of the Supreme Court following her investiture ceremony on September 30, 2022 in Washington, DC. The ceremony for Jackson, who took her official Supreme Court oaths at the end of June, was attended by U.S. President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, First Lady Jill Biden and second gentleman Doug Emhoff.

Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson kicked off her book tour in New York City!

Justice Jackson sat down with Gayle King to discuss her new memoir “The Lovely One.” In the book, she talks about when she fell in love with law, more.

It was reported that fans lined up around the block to witness history. Some of those in attendance included Jackson’s friends and her husband. During their sit-down, King and Jackson joked and sang a song from the hit movie, “The Wiz.”

Justice Jackson expressed how she felt about the book and the support from fans. “It has been overwhelming but exciting and just wonderful to get such a great response to the book with so many people supporting me who haven’t even read it!”

Gayle King reminded the audience that they were there to get to know more about Ketanji Brown Jackson. Jackson spoke about the memoir’s title, in which she revealed that her name means “lovely one.”

“My aunt was in a Peace Corps in Africa when I was born… my parents grew up in the segregated south and I was in 1970 which was five years after the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act and my parents really saw my birth as an opportunity,” she said.

She went on to speak on how she got into law, although both of her parents were teachers. However, her father did have an interest in law. “My parents never spoke to me baby talk, they always talked to me in full sentences and I remember some of my earliest memories are sitting in the little kitchen table, my dad has his law books and he’s studying and I have my coloring books and I’m sitting with him and I never thought there was anything else you were supposed to do then go to law school,” Jackson said.

Jackson continued to speak about a moment that helped shape her passion and ethic as a child. “I loved to float on my back, this was at a backyard pool party and I remember Motown blasting and I looked and I’m not within reach of the side and I started to panic, and I sink to the bottom of the pool,”

She said that she was rescued but was disappointed for not saving herself because she knew how to swim. “I say in the book, from then on even if afraid, I would swim.”

Ketanji Brown Jackson’s memoir is out now.

Introduction

Protecting the integrity of U.S. elections is a critical component of the overall mission of the Department of Justice (Department) to uphold the rule of law, keep our country safe, and protect civil rights.

Our republic depends on the operation of a free and fair electoral process – with results that are respected and with elections that are free from foreign interference.

Foreign malign influence (FMI)  [Endnote 1] is not a new problem – but today’s complex geopolitical environment, and the anonymity and access that our interconnected world offers, have changed the nature of the threat and how we must address it.

As the U.S. Intelligence Community has publicly reported, a primary goal of FMI actors is to sow discord and undermine confidence in our democratic institutions and values – including through covertly influencing and manipulating our elections. These threat actors seek to influence the politics and policies of the United States to benefit their interests and undermine U.S. democracy and America’s standing in the world.  [Endnote 2]

In today’s age, FMI actors are conducting their operations in large part through the misuse of online social media platforms – which are tremendous sources of free speech and creativity. These online FMI operations take many forms – false personas, fabricated and divisive narratives, and synthetic content disseminated through technology like deepfakes fueled by artificial intelligence (AI). If unchecked, FMI can take root and spread across these platforms.

The Department will not tolerate FMI of any form, particularly FMI targeting our elections. The Department, working together with our partners across the U.S. Government, is committed to detecting, investigating, exposing, and holding accountable those who perpetrate FMI operations.

Online FMI operations leveraging social media platforms can be more likely to succeed if the social media companies (SMCs) whose platforms are being misused are unaware that a foreign malign actor is behind the activity. Accordingly, an important component of the Department’s multi-faceted strategy for combating FMI is engaging with SMCs and sharing information with them about FMI threats, so the SMCs may consider taking their own independent actions to help mitigate these threats.  [Endnote 3]

Below, we provide an overview of some of the overarching principles of our strategy for engaging with SMCs to share information and combat FMI threats. We are setting forth these principles publicly because we recognize that transparency about how we conduct this work is just as important as the work itself – including how we ensure that First Amendment rights are fully protected as we carry out this work.  [Endnote 4]

FMI threat actors are increasingly leveraging online platforms to conduct their FMI operations, including operations targeting our elections.

It is therefore critical to the Department’s national security mission to share FMI threat information with SMCs, so they can make decisions, within their discretion, about how to mitigate potential abuse of their platforms by adversaries conducting FMI operations.

The Department engages with SMCs regarding FMI principally through the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF),  [Endnote 5] which is dedicated to identifying and counteracting FMI operations targeting our democratic institutions, with a specific focus on securing our elections against foreign interference. While the FITF leads the Department’s engagement with SMCs regarding FMI, the strategic principles set forth herein apply to all Department components.

The Department is committed, through the FITF, to establishing and maintaining an effective dialogue with SMCs to facilitate combating FMI threats to our elections.

Through the FITF, the Department is sharing and will continue to share actionable intelligence in real-time with SMCs about FMI actors and operations leveraging their services, so the SMCs can use that information, if they choose to do so within their discretion, to mitigate FMI threats on their platforms.

The online platforms that FMI threat actors are abusing are important vehicles for free expression protected by the First Amendment.

It is therefore critical that when we engage with SMCs to combat FMI threats, we do so in a way that is entirely consistent with the First Amendment.  As we work to counter those who seek to exploit online platforms and undermine our democracy, we must – and will – preserve the very freedoms at the core of that democracy.

Most fundamentally, when the Department shares FMI threat information with SMCs, it is entirely up to the companies whether to take any action, such as removing content or barring users, based on the shared information. SMCs are free to make their own choices about what, if anything, they will do in response to information they have received from the Department, and no adverse consequences for the companies will result from whatever action they may or may not take.  Accordingly, Department personnel should never seek to coerce SMCs to take any action based on information shared with the SMCs.

Broadly speaking, there are two primary prongs of the Department’s strategic approach to sharing FMI threat information with SMCs.

The first strategic prong involves the Department sharing information with SMCs about specific accounts on their platforms linked to FMI activity. The Department provides such actionable intelligence to SMCs on a continuous basis. Specifically, when the Department obtains information, including from the U.S. Intelligence Community, relating to FMI actors leveraging particular online platforms, the Department – through the FITF – promptly shares actionable intelligence concerning the online accounts linked to the activity with the SMCs hosting the relevant platforms.

The Department’s information-sharing strategy is actor-driven. The FITF acts on intelligence concerning the FMI activities of foreign actors and the online accounts those actors use to conduct their operations. Our focus is on disrupting the foreign actors behind the accounts and exposing their hidden hand.

This strategic approach combats FMI threats in multiple important ways, including by (a) enabling SMCs to remove or otherwise regulate the accounts and content at issue, to the extent the companies elect to do so, and (b) facilitating the gathering of additional relevant information about the accounts involved, including pursuant to legal process that the FBI may serve on the companies.

The Department, through the FITF, shares FMI threat information pursuant to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) first implemented in February 2024.  [Endnote 6]  The SOP govern instances where Department personnel seek to share information with SMCs regarding specific activities or accounts relating to FMI.

As reflected in the SOP, the Department, through the FITF, shares information with SMCs regarding account activity relating to FMI when there are specific, credible, and articulable facts that provide high confidence for assessing that the activity is being conducted covertly by, on behalf of, or pursuant to instruction from a foreign government, foreign actor, or their proxy, in support of an FMI operation.

To ensure that any applicable First Amendment rights are protected, when sharing such FMI threat information with SMCs, the Department’s communications with the company should make clear, among other things, that (a) we are not asking the company to take any action in response to the sharing of the information, and the company has no obligation to do so, and (b) we will not take any adverse action based on the company’s decision about whether or how to respond to the information being shared.

These interactions are entirely voluntary, and it is always up to the SMCs whether to participate.

Strategic Prong 2: Meetings with SMCs to Discuss Potential FMI Threats

The second primary prong of the Department’s strategic approach, in addition to transmitting information to SMCs about particular accounts linked to FMI activity, is meeting with SMCs on a voluntary basis to brief and discuss potential FMI threats involving the companies’ platforms, including FMI threats targeting our elections.

These meetings advance the Department’s efforts to combat FMI by, among other things, affording valuable opportunities for two-way discussion, as the Department – represented by the FITF and local FBI field offices – and SMCs can share information that both sides are seeing on the companies’ platforms relating to potential FMI threat actors, indicators, and trends.  Such information can both facilitate SMCs’ discretionary efforts to mitigate potential FMI threats on their platforms and inform the Department’s investigative efforts.

The FBI generally meets with each SMC individually, rather than in a group setting with other industry members present, to facilitate the most uninhibited and productive engagement regarding potential FMI threat information implicating the company’s platform.

The cadence of the FBI’s engagements with SMCs depends on a variety of factors relating to the threat landscape. For example, the FBI may meet on a regular, periodic basis with certain SMCs due to the volume and frequency of potential FMI threats involving their platforms. The FBI will also meet at any time with SMCs as warranted based on threat-specific developments – such as when multiple potential threats emerge on a particular company’s platform, a particular company affirmatively requests to discuss potential FMI threats with the FBI, or the FBI becomes aware of information indicating that an FMI actor is poised imminently to leverage a particular company’s platform in furtherance of FMI activity.

To ensure that these meetings are conducted in a manner fully consistent with any applicable First Amendment principles, FBI personnel are not permitted to direct or suggest that SMCs take any actions concerning content on their platforms based on the information discussed at the meeting.

The Department engages with SMCs – both to transmit specific threat information and to meet regarding the broader threat environment – all around the country, depending on the relevant threat information, and irrespective of where the companies are located.

To maximize the reach and impact of the Department’s strategy, local FBI field offices across the country conduct outreach – in coordination with the FITF – to SMCs located in their areas of responsibility, to develop and maintain productive contacts at and dialogues with the SMCs relating to FMI.

To ensure that the Department’s approach at meetings with SMCs nationwide is consistent and coordinated, for every meeting, the FITF participates in the meeting and/or oversees local field office personnel conducting the meeting.

FMI threats, including those targeting our elections, are constant – and constantly evolving.

These threats are supercharged by emerging technologies like AI. New forms of online FMI threats are continuously surfacing, including AI-fueled synthetic deepfakes. And these threats are originating from an increasingly diverse, growing, and more capable group of foreign actors dedicated to undermining our democracy.

To effectively combat this inherently fluid threat landscape, the Department’s strategic approach to sharing information with SMCs must – and will – remain flexible and constantly evolve and adapt to meet the threat.  For example, recognizing that FMI threats are perpetually shifting, the SOP are designed to be iterative and adaptive, subject to updates as the threat environment continues to develop.

The Department closely coordinates, including through the FITF, with the U.S. Intelligence Community, in order to gain maximum visibility into the technologies and tactics of FMI actors, which will continue to inform the Department’s constantly evolving strategy and investigative techniques to combat the threat.

The Department believes that transparency about how we conduct our work combating FMI is just as important as the work itself. That is why, for example, we have made public a summary of the SOP – which helps ensure public awareness that the Department’s sharing of FMI threat information with SMCs, including information about threats to our elections, is undertaken pursuant to carefully calibrated protocols that protect the First Amendment rights of Americans. And it is why we are publicly setting forth the principles described herein.

As we continue to carry out this critical work, we are committed, whenever feasible, to keeping the public updated not only about why we are doing it, but also how. Because transparency strengthens democracy. While our adversaries seeking to undermine that democracy try to hide their hand, we strive to show our work.

[Endnote 1] The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) defines FMI as “subversive, covert (or undeclared), coercive, or criminal activities by foreign governments, nonstate actors, or their proxies designed to sow division, undermine democratic processes and institutions, or steer policy and regulatory decisions in favor of the foreign actors’ strategic objectives and to the detriment of their adversaries.”  See also 50 U.S.C. § 3059(f)(2) (“The term ‘foreign malign influence’ means any hostile effort undertaken by, at the direction of, or on behalf of or with the substantial support of, the government of a covered foreign country with the objective of influencing, through overt or covert means – (A) the political, military, economic, or other policies or activities of the United States Government or State or local governments, including any election within the United States; or (B) the public opinion within the United States.”).

[Endnote 3] As used herein, the term “Social Media Company” refers to any company that hosts or provides a social media platform.

[Endnote 4] The principles set forth herein are not exhaustive, but rather constitute examples of key principles informing our strategic approach to engagement with SMCs to combat FMI.

[Endnote 5] The FITF is a multi-division FBI section comprised of operational and analytical personnel from the FBI’s Counterintelligence, Cyber, and Criminal Investigative Divisions with the authority and mandate to identify, investigate, and combat FMI operations targeting U.S. democratic institutions, with specific focus on the U.S. electoral process. The FITF coordinates closely with the U.S. Intelligence Community and international partners as part of the Department’s participation in a whole-of-government approach to combating FMI threats.
