Bidets are becoming increasingly popular throughout North America and are no longer associated with being wealthy. What was once a bathroom feature found mostly in Europe or for rich households, bidets can be purchased with ease online or in local home improvement stores. With lower price tags, more features and easier installation, bidets are more and more common.

Our team of expert researchers spent time analyzing and comparing different bidet options on the market, looking for the ones that stood out the most. We compared features like heated seats, remote controls, and adjustable water pressure in order to seek out the best options. Let’s take a look at what we recommend as the best bidets in Canada for 2024.

Why Did We Choose These Bidets in Canada?

Each of the products on our lists undergoes thorough evaluation by our team of experts. Based on these observations, we compile a list of recommendations based on the features that we believe are the most desired and useful for Canadians. Each of the bidets on our list was chosen because they represent a specific feature that makes life easier and more convenient. Here are the reasons each of these bidets made our list.

The TOTO Washlet C5 Bidet Seat was an obvious choice for the best overall bidet in Canada because it offers a great combination of functionality, design, and convenient features, like dual action spray nozzles, a warm air dryer, and a warm water reservoir – just to name a few.

For those Canadians who love to travel and want to take the full-clean feeling of a bidet along with them, we recommend the  Brondell GS-70 Travel Bidet . This hand-powered travel bidet lets you experience the comfort and cleanliness of a bidet no matter where you wind up.

A bidet with a dual nozzle design provides a better cleaning experience, and that’s why the Samodra Ultra-Slim Bidet made our list. It features an ultra-slim design and both a posterior mode and a feminine mode, so you get the best of both worlds.

The VOVO VB-3000SE Bidet Seat made our list as the bidet with the best combination of features. There are too many to list here, but the heated seat, warm water spray, and warm air dryer are good examples.

Some people prefer the convenience and usefulness of a handheld bidet, so we included our favourite – the Arofa Handheld Bidet Sprayer . What sets this type of bidet apart from the rest is its multiple uses and optimum control.

For the best electric-free bidet on our list, we chose the Samodra Bidet Attachment . It uses the power of water pressure instead of electricity or batteries, so it saves you money on water, toilet paper, and energy.

Best Overall

Toto washlet c5 bidet seat.

TOTO SW3084#01 WASHLET C5 Electronic Bidet Toilet Seat with PREMIST and EWATER+ Wand Cleaning, Elongated, Cotton White

  • Style: Electronic Bidet Seat
  • Nozzles: Dual
  • Dimensions: 53.02 x 38.26 x 2.51 cm
  • Special Feature: Heated Seat

It's Great For:

  • Full-range cleaning with dual nozzles
  • Adjusting the water stream
  • Protecting the environment with EWater+
  • Reducing bathroom odours

We always start with the best of the best, and for bidets, the choice was easy. The TOTO Washlet C5 Bidet Seat offers the best all-around options for premium comfort and cleaning, as well as features designed to make the experience one of a kind.

This bidet seat is an electronic bidet seat, which means it installs easily right on top of your existing toilet. The design is super-slim, at just 2.51 cm tall, which helps ensure a snug fit on virtually any standard toilet. The TOTO washlet replaces your existing toilet seat and eliminates gaps where dirt and germs can build up.

The wand nozzle itself is manufactured from a special resin, which repels dirt and allows liquids to bead up easily on the surface for an easier clean. The wand is angled perfectly to avoid backsplash during use and retracts behind a door to conceal and protect the wand when it’s not in use. Another great feature is the self-cleaning design, which uses TOTO’s advanced EWater+ technology. This process automatically cleans the inside and outside of the wand before and after every single use and transforms the water into a safe wastewater compound.

As for the features that we love most, it’s the extreme consideration that went into making this Bidet as comfortable as possible. It starts with the contoured, heated seat. You can adjust the temperature settings for the perfect level of comfort and warmth when you sit down. You have complete control over the water pressure settings, and the dual nozzle design includes an oscillating option, for the best all-over clean every time.

The TOTO washlet has a warm water reservoir that ensures you get warm water cleaning instead of a blast of cold water. And it uses a warm air dryer to help complete your cleaning experience, saving you money on toilet paper and keeping all of your parts toasty warm and dry.

That’s not all. The TOTO washlet also includes a soft-close seat and lid, so there’s no potential of the seat slamming closed accidentally. It has a pre-mist feature that cleans and rinses the bowl before every use. It even includes a deodorizer that keeps your bathroom smelling clean and fresh.

Key Features

A dual nozzle bidet provides a better cleaning experience because it allows for both front and back cleaning. That’s what you get with the Samodra Ultra-Slim Bidet. It uses a dual nozzle design with a posterior mode for powerful cleaning towards the rear, and a feminine mode, which offers a softer spray toward the front. • Easy Installation. Those concerned about complicated assembly and installation will appreciate the simple design of this bidet.

Comparing the Best Bidets for Canadians

How did we select these bidets in canada.

We are in the business of helping Canadians make smart choices in the products they purchase for their homes and their lives. We understand that Canadians expect high-quality products that represent a good investment, and we take our role as advisors seriously. Over the years, we have evaluated hundreds of products – from frying pans to Wi-Fi Extenders , and everything in between.

To compile our list of the best products in a category, we send our selections to our experts, who researched and analyzed each option. Each product went through a period of thorough analysis, where we looked at all of the features that Canadians look for. Based on this information, we trust that we’re providing recommendations that represent the best of the best. For our list of the best bidets in Canada, we looked for the following features.

  • Styles. Bidets come in a variety of styles, and we know that Canadians have different needs and expectations. That’s why we included bidets with multiple different designs and styles, including bidet seat styles, handheld sprayers, and even travel-sized bidets that you can carry with you.
  • Materials. Anything intended for bathroom use must be manufactured from durable, high-quality materials. When fixtures come in contact with water and debris, they must be rust and corrosion-resistant and designed to repel bacteria, germs, and debris. For our list of the best bidets in Canada, we looked for products that were manufactured from stainless steel, brass, and ceramic parts, because those materials are known to hold up against repeated use and resist wear and tear from contact with water.
  • Control. A bidet should allow the user to customize the water pressure provided by the nozzle to their preferences. Some people need a soft, gentle flow and others prefer a stronger, more concentrated stream for cleaning. For our list, we chose bidets that allow for customizable pressure settings, and even use a dual nozzle design so you can direct your cleaning to both the front and back.
  • Comfort. You deserve a comfortable, luxurious experience – even when you’re using the bathroom. That’s why, for our list, we chose bidets that provide a host of features designed to enhance the experience and provide the ultimate comfort and care for your most sensitive parts. We looked for bidets that offer heated seats, warm water reservoirs, and warm air dryers – so you can truly enjoy the experience of using the bathroom again.

Why Use a Bidet in Canada

Why Use a Bidet in Canada?

Bidets are becoming more popular for several reasons. No longer are they reserved for the rich and famous, but now they are affordable and accessible for people around the world and throughout Canada. But why are so many people turning to the bidet as an alternative to a traditional bathroom toilet?

Save Money on Toilet Paper

Bidets offer a unique cleaning experience during toileting that cannot be matched by traditional toileting systems. That’s because bidets use water to cleanse your sensitive parts after using the toilet, whereas traditional systems rely on cleaning with toilet paper. Not only is toilet paper somewhat ineffective when it comes to providing a full and fresh cleansing, but it is costly, wasteful, and terrible for the environment.

For instance, did you know that using a bidet can save an average of two rolls of toilet paper per person every week ? That means in a four-person household, you’re saving around eight rolls of TP in just seven days. Multiply that by 52 weeks in a year, and it’s easy to see how quickly the savings add up.

Reduce Impact on the Environment

Not only can reducing your average toilet paper use to save you a significant amount of money but reducing paper usage has the potential to save millions of trees every year. Not to mention that the production of toilet paper requires an average of 12-37 gallons of water per roll, as well as electricity, chemicals, packaging, and transportation. All of these add up to cause a significant impact on the environment and reducing them by even a small percentage can make a huge impact.

Get a Better Clean

But for many Canadians, the choice to use a bidet not only includes reducing one’s carbon footprint and impact on the environment but relates directly to their preference for a cleaner, more sanitary toileting experience. No matter what the reason, many Canadians are choosing to add a bidet to their bathroom, and thanks to advancements in design and technology, it’s now an option that’s well within reach.

How to Choose a Bidet for Canadians

How to Choose a Bidet for Canadians

As bidets become more and more popular, there are a host of new offerings on the Canadian market. Choosing a bidet may seem like a fairly simple process, but there are a few things you need to consider before you make a purchase. To ensure you are choosing the right bidet in Canada, make sure to keep the following factors and considerations in mind.

Choose a Style

There are four main styles of bidets: stand-alone fixtures, electronic seats, handheld sprayers, and hand-powered travel styles. Choosing one that’s right for you will require examining how you plan to use the bidet, as well as the size of your bathroom, the space available, and the size and shape of your existing toilet.

Stand-Alone Fixtures

A stand-alone bidet is an entirely separate fixture that usually is positioned next to the toilet. This was the original design of most bidets and is popular in Europe. After using the toilet, people would use the bidet for final cleaning. Stand-alone bidets are fairly expensive and require enough space in the bathroom for an additional fixture, so they may not be practical for most Canadians.

Electronic Seat Bidets

Electronic seat bidets are more like accessories that attach directly to an existing toilet fixture. They either attach to the top or bottom of the toilet seat or replace the toilet seat completely. These bidets allow you the same experience as a stand-alone bidet, without the need for an entirely new fixture and without worrying about the space available in your bathroom. They are super easy to install and generally much more affordable than a stand-alone bidet. And they come with many features designed to enhance both comfort and cleanliness.

Handheld Sprayers

A handheld sprayer is like a bidet that you can hold in your hand. They typically can attach directly to the side of your existing toilet or even mount on a nearby wall, or any wall with access to a water line. The great thing about handheld sprayers is that you can use them for more than just toileting. You can use them for bathing children and babies, and even for bathing the family dog. You can use them for cleaning purposes around the house or in the bathroom, for spraying off rugs and carpets, for cleaning cloth diapers, and even for watering potted plants. When it comes to personal cleansing after toileting, a handheld sprayer provides ultimate control.

Travel-Sized Bidets

Travel-sized bidets are typically squeeze-style bottles that you can fill with water and squeeze to cleanse after toileting. When you squeeze the bottle, the water provides a spray that provides the same fresh, clean feeling you can get from a bidet in your bathroom at home. Travel bidets are great for use during the day when you’re at work, school, or away from home, and perfect for those who travel or vacation frequently.

Consider the Size and Shape of Your Toilet

While most electronic seat bidets are designed to be fairly universal and are compatible with most standard toilets, you will want to make sure that the one you choose will fit with your existing toilet. Some toilet seats are round, and others are oval-shaped. Toilet seats also come in a range of sizes. Make sure you take note of the shape of your toilet seat and take some measurements from the back to the front, so you can ensure the bidet you choose will fit appropriately.

Consider the Features

Bidets provide more than just a burst of refreshing water. Their design has evolved to include several features that enhance the experience and create a more comfortable cleansing process. Some popular options include:

  • Heated Seats. A bidet with a heated seat will provide extra comfort during use and help you avoid a frigid experience in the bathroom.
  • Warm Water Reservoir. Close contact between water and your sensitive parts can be bracing. That’s why choosing a bidet that uses a warm water reservoir for rinsing is preferable. That way, you can avoid cleansing with cold water.
  • Warm Air Dry. To avoid using toilet paper to dry off, you can choose a bidet that uses warm air. A warm air dryer dries off your sensitive regions after use.

There are many other features that may make your life with the bidet a little easier. Make sure to read up of the offered features before making a decision on which option you should purchase. Choose a bidet that fits your needs and offers features you will use.

Look for Easy Installation

For our list of the best bidets in Canada, we aimed to include only products that buyers can install themselves, without needing numerous tools or the help of an expensive, professional plumber. These bidet systems are intuitive and provide easy, step-by-step installation instructions, so you can do it yourself in a matter of minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, bidets can save you a significant amount of money in both water and toilet paper. Using a bidet reduces the amount of toilet paper required in your home and uses much less water than a single flush of your toilet requires. Some bidets are even specially energy-saving models, further saving your household money.

There are multiple types of bidets that you can buy in Canada, all a little different in features and installation procedures. Bidet types include stand-alone, electronic seats, handheld sprayers and travel bidets. We cover a few of these options in our list today, giving you a good coverage of their differences.

Using toilet paper with a bidet is a personal choice, as some prefer to still dry off with some, and others do not. Not all bidets include a dryer, which could lead to wet clothing if you don’t use a bit of toilet paper to dry. Those who wish not to use toilet paper may benefit from one of the nicer bidets on our list that offer air dryers.

Most bidets are easily accessible to all Canadians. Some models require mobility to use, while others have simpler mechanics and even a remote control. Taking a look at each of the bidet control systems of the products you are interested in before purchasing will allow you to see if it will work with your household.

All of the bidets on our review today are incredibly clean, and most offer self-cleaning nozzles. Like all parts of your bathroom, though, using cleaners and wiping down surfaces is always recommended to keep a germ-free bathroom. You don’t need to worry about a bidet spreading germs, though, as long as the nozzles are not directly touching the skin of the users.

Most bidets are easy to install, though it varies from model to model. Some can be installed with few tools and limited time, whereas others may even involve a plumber to ensure a proper installation. Each bidet gets its water source differently, which is why the installation process varies from model to model. If you are concerned about the method of installation, make sure to read up on it before purchasing.

Most Canadians probably think of a water sprayer as being the biggest part of a bidet, but there are many other great features that often accompany it. While each bidet will vary in what it offers, the nicest ones will often have heated seats, a dryer function, remote control and dual nozzles. These high-quality bidets come with a higher price point, but many Canadians feel it is worth it.

Canadians go through a lot of toilet paper every year, and that isn’t great for our wallets or our plumbing. Plus, it isn’t the most sanitary option. It can even have negative effects on our health and comfort. Using toilet paper also requires a certain level of mobility, and it isn’t easy or accessible for everyone.

In many Asian and European countries, bidets are the norm, even in public bathrooms. And there are so many reasons for it. Bidets can improve hygiene (yay), and comfort (yay again), and help cut down on your toilet paper use (yay some more). They’re very easy to install and can fit pretty much any toilet, too.

If a bidet is the next great addition to your home improvement efforts, we support you. And we want to help you get the right one. There’s a lot of variety in the bidet world, and they’ll be different in things like price, water pressure levels, wash types, and even whether they can dry you or not. It can get overwhelming.

This comprehensive guide will investigate the best bidets in Canada right now and outline the criteria you should consider while making your purchase decision. Let’s dive right into our top five products.

Our Top Pick for The Best Bidet

Luxe neo 185 bidet review, what we think of the luxe neo 185 bidet.

There are a lot of things we like about the Luxe Neo 185 Bidet. It's pretty affordable, which is a major high point, and we’re very happy to tell you that it has the two wash types needed to serve everyone. It will fit pretty much every North American toilet, and won’t leave that annoying seat gap! It’s really easy to install as well since it doesn’t need any electrical power to work.

The dial design is much better than some other Neo versions — they’re smaller and easier to use, and less in the way. You’ll love the self-cleaning nozzle, too. No one wants to clean these things by hand, right? We’re also big fans of the nozzle guard — the nozzles will automatically hide behind it after every use, so you won’t have to worry about them while you’re using the toilet. Hygiene is everything.

There’s only one low point that we want to share with you. And it’s the water pressure settings. Rather than the super common variable dial for controlling water pressure, this one has four preset pressures to choose from. Obviously, this can’t offer the same level of adjustability or precision. It’s not an ideal setup, but it does still get the job done well and offers some degree of customization.

What Reviewers Are Saying About the Luxe Neo 185 Bidet

Reviewers are thrilled with the quality of the Luxe Neo 185 Bidet. There haven’t been any comments about leaking connection sites or broken dials, and the installation instructions were easy for everyone to follow. Everyone seems happy with the two wash types, as they ensure everyone gets the customized cleaning they need.

Wash nozzles automatically hide behind the guard after each use to keep them clean

Fits most North American toilets without a toilet seat gap

Dials are small and easy to use

Preset pressure settings aren’t ideal

Our Final Thoughts on the Luxe Neo 185 Bidet

Performance: 4.5/5

Usability: 4/5

Quality: 5/5

All in all, the Luxe Neo 185 Bidet is one of the best all-around options out there. We don’t love that it has preset pressure settings instead of a variable dial, but everything else about it is designed for ease of use and a great wash. And you just can’t go wrong with that. The price doesn’t hurt either.

Our Hot Water Pick

Luxe neo 320 bidet review, what we think of the luxe neo 320 bidet.

The Luxe Neo 320 Bidet has a lot going for it. One of the most unique things has to do with the installation process. Rather than having extra hose length just hanging out in the bathroom, you can cut the hose to fit the space better. You won’t need to worry about an electrical hookup either. Plus, if you’re ready to commit to a bidet long-term, this one is a great choice. It won’t give up early.

With an adjustable water temperature and water pressure, every member of your family will be able to get a clean bum without any discomfort. The dials provide enough resistance to be precise in your adjustments, too, so you get a full range of options. You can choose between a rear wash and a front wash as well. It’s got everybody covered, including itself with the self-cleaning nozzle.

We’re very happy to say we don’t have any issues with the performance of this bidet. However, the visual design leaves a little something to be desired. The control dials are large and clunky, and we just aren’t fans. Plus, the overall visual is not pleasing at all to the eye, so hopefully you don’t care too much about throwing off your bathroom’s décor.

What Reviewers Are Saying About the Luxe Neo 320 Bidet

Reviewers have a great opinion of the Luxe Neo 320 Bidet. Since the water temperature and pressure are both adjustable, they’re able to have a super relaxing wash. Since it has a rear wash and front wash option, it’s a perfect choice for everyone. Some people have been using it for years and it’s still in perfect shape.

Luxe Neo 320 Bidet Specifications

Luxe Neo 320 Bidet Pros and Cons

Hot water hose can be trimmed to match your sink to toilet distance better

Built to last

Dials offer enough resistance to allow for precise adjustments of water pressure and temperature

Control dials are a bit clunky

Design is not pleasing

Our Final Thoughts on the Luxe Neo 320 Bidet

Usability: 4.5/5

All in all, the Luxe Neo 320 Bidet is the best choice for everyone who needs a little warmth from their bidet. You might not love the aesthetic or the clunky controls, but we can almost guarantee you’ll enjoy everything else it has to offer.

Our Upgrade Pick

Tushy spa 3.0 bidet review, what we think of the tushy spa 3.0 bidet.

The Tushy Spa 3.0 Bidet has literally every feature you could possibly want. Whether it will be your first step into the bidet world or you’ve been using them for years, this one will wow you. It doesn’t need any electricity to work, and the gorgeous white/bamboo aesthetic is just stunning. And suited to every décor scheme.

The adjustability of this bidet wows us. Everything about it is customizable — the water pressure, the water temperature, even the spray angle. You can set it up to match your anatomy to perfection, and it can be comfortably used by the entire family. You’ve even got an intelligent and automated self-cleaning nozzle to keep things hygienic.

There are only two small notes we need to make before you fall head over heels for this bidet. Its price is higher than most other bidets, so you’ll need to be prepared for a little extra investment upfront. We promise it’s worth it. Also, for the hot water hookup, your toilet needs to be within six feet of your sink. This will rule out some bathrooms.

What Reviewers Are Saying About the Tushy Spa 3.0 Bidet

Reviewers are in love with the Tushy Spa 3.0 Bidet. They like how much they can adjust the wash experience — the adjustable water temperature, water pressure, and spray angle are simply an unbeatable combination. Most of them decided to buy more of them for the other toilets in their house.

Tushy Spa 3.0 Bidet Specifications

Water Temperature: Cold or warm

Wash Types: Variable

Warranty: 1 year

Tushy Spa 3.0 Bidet Pros and Cons

White control box with bamboo dials creates a gorgeous aesthetic

SmartSpray nozzle automatically cleans the bidet nozzle before and after every use

Can adjust the spray angle to suit your anatomy

Has to be next to a sink (within 6 ft)

More expensive than most

Our Final Thoughts on the Tushy Spa 3.0 Bidet

Performance: 5/5

Usability: 5/5

All in all, the Tushy Spa 3.0 Bidet is a top-tier choice. It doesn’t get better than this. You’ll have to fork over a fair amount of moolah for it, but as long as you have the right toilet-to-sink setup, you’ll never want to leave the bathroom without using this bidet again.

Our Budget Pick

Samodra series 7 ultra-slim bidet review, what we think of the samodra series 7 ultra-slim bidet.

The Samodra Series 7 Ultra-Slim Bidet is a neat little option. And we say little because of its ultra-slim design. Not only will it fit almost every toilet, but you’ll also be able to avoid that unsightly toilet gap and the need for toilet seat risers. It installs like a dream, too. It doesn’t need any electricity and it’s got easy-to-follow instructions.

The thing we like most about this bidet is the handle. To control the water spray, you just need to rotate the handle. Twist one for a rear wash, and the other way for a front wash. You can easily adjust the water pressure — just rotate more or less! It could not be simpler for kids or bidet newbies.

The one thing we’d change about this bidet is the cleaning process. As it is, you have to clean it by hand. And that’s just not fun. We would prefer it had a self-cleaning nozzle like so many other bidets — it would be more hygienic day-to-day and would also take one chore off your to-do list.

What Reviewers Are Saying About the Samodra Series 7 Ultra-Slim Bidet

Reviewers are very happy with the Samodra Series 7 Ultra-Slim Bidet. They love that it doesn’t require any electricity or toilet seat risers, and the two wash types do an awesome job of actually cleaning their target. The main critique that popped up was people wishing for a hot water connection as well, but for the price, they don’t mind too much. The rotating control is a huge hit with everybody.

Samodra Series 7 Ultra-Slim Bidet Specifications

Self-Cleaning: No

Samodra Series 7 Ultra-Slim Bidet Pros and Cons

Slim design prevents toilet seat gaps and warping

Rotation control is durable and easy to use

No self-cleaning nozzle

Our Final Thoughts on the Samodra Series 7 Ultra-Slim Bidet

All in all, the Samodra Series 7 Ultra-Slim Bidet is our favourite budget-friendly option right now. It might be lacking in versatility a bit, but we can guarantee you’ll love the rotating handle and the effectiveness of the wash. You won’t have any regrets, we promise.

Brondell Thinline SimpleSpa SS-150 Bidet Review

What we think of the brondell thinline simplespa ss-150 bidet.

Raise your hand if you love a simple, easy-to-use bidet! We know we do. There’s a time and place for fancy digital things with tons of options, but sometimes, that place is not your bathroom. That’s why we love the design of the Brondell Thinline SimpleSpa SS-150 Bidet so much.

The control knob is the standout feature for us. Not only does it create a sleek and out-of-the-way look for the bidet, but it also makes it incredibly easy to use. You twist one way to turn the water on and adjust the water pressure, and you twist the other way to activate the self-cleaning nozzle. Easy, right?

Since this bidet doesn’t need any electricity, you can install it in any bathroom. It’s built to last, too, since everything inside it is corrosion-resistant. The ultra-slim design is another one of its big draws. It won’t create an annoying toilet gap or wear down the integrity of your toilet seat. After all, a bidet is supposed to solve problems, not create them.

The main problem we have with this option is how limited it is. It only offers one wash type so it won’t be as useful for everyone. People who prefer warm water will also be disappointed. They can’t all do everything, right?

What Reviewers Are Saying About the Brondell Thinline SimpleSpa SS-150 Bidet

Reviewers really like the Brondell Thinline SimpleSpa SS-150 Bidet. Some of them even prefer it over their fancy digital bidets. The knob control makes it really easy to use, and people love it for their elderly parents for that reason. It feels durable and offers a great rear wash.

Brondell Thinline SimpleSpa SS-150 Bidet Specifications

Wash Types: 1

Brondell Thinline SimpleSpa SS-150 Bidet Pros and Cons

Ultra-slim design prevents a toilet seat gap

Control knob is sleek and incredibly user-friendly

All interior parts are corrosion-resistant

Limited adjustability

Our Final Thoughts on the Brondell Thinline SimpleSpa SS-150 Bidet

Performance: 4/5

Overall, the Brondell Thinline SimpleSpa SS-150 Bidet was a no-brainer as part of our top five. It can be installed in any bathroom (no sink connection or electricity required!) and fits most toilets too. You won’t have all the bells and whistles with this one, but for the price, you really can’t do better.

How to Properly Choose Your Bidet

Some bidets will cost less than $50, but others can cost more than $500. The most expensive bidets will offer a ton of versatility in water pressure, temperature, and spray angle, but they’ll also be equipped with heated dryers and temperature-controlled water. If you don’t need the extras that come with an electrical setup, you’ll be able to find a great bidet between $100 and $250.

Pressure Settings

Most bidets will come with a variable dial for water pressure. They offer the most precision in adjustments and are just more popular. However, some will come with preset pressures instead, so you’ll need to keep an eye on this feature if customizability is important to you.

Water Temperature

There are a few options when it comes to the water temperature of a bidet. Some will only have a cold water hookup, others will also attach to your sink for access to hot water, and others still will have the ability to heat the water themselves. Some people really dislike the feeling of cold water spraying at them, and if that’s you — depending on your budget — you’ll want one of the latter two options.

Self-Cleaning

Many bidets are self-cleaning, and for many people, it’s a must-have feature. They can be tricky to clean by hand depending on their design, and the self-cleaning ones will usually clean the nozzles before and after every use. No one will be doing that by hand, so self-cleaning bidets are also more hygienic.

A bidet can have up to two wash types. Every bidet will have a rear wash, but some will also have a second wash type for the front. It can be invaluable for pregnant people and during menstruation.

Control Type

Bidets can come with several different control types, so you’ll be able to pick your favourite. The most common controls are dials, but you can also find a long rotating handle or a small rotating knob.

Travel + Leisure / Brian Kopinski

Bidets – toilet attachments that clean you in place of toilet paper – have long been popular in countries like Japan, France, and Brazil, and they’re starting to become more common in the United States. For those of us who’ve become accustomed to the clean feeling a bidet provides, a portable bidet is just what you need when traveling, hiking, or camping. Usually a light, squeezable bottle with a spray nozzle, portable bidets are easy to use, pack, and clean. There are even electric bidets, some featuring multiple stream speeds to provide soothing comfort while they clean.

When shopping for a portable bidet, consider weight, liquid capacity, and whether or not it comes with a carrying pouch to use while traveling. Also note that you’ll still need a few squares of toilet paper or a small towel to dry up when finished.

Best Overall

Brondell gospa advanced portable bidet.

The high-quality silicone material is sturdy and easy to clean.

It doesn’t collapse as small as other portable bidets.

Brondell has spent more than two decades in the bidet game, and this update on its portable classic hits — or shall I say gently sprays — all the right points. Simply fill up the bottle at your sink, twist on the cap, and press the spring-loaded button to reveal the nozzle. The silicone is a good level of squishy – firm, yet soft – and gives off a strong, but not too strong, spray.

When you’re done, the nozzle pops back easily into the cap, and the whole bottle fits into a thick cloth pouch that comes included. Unlike the previous Brondell model, which looks a bit like a medical device, this portable bidet is sleek and comes in a few fun colors.

The Details: 5 ounces | Silicone | 13.5 or 17 fluid ounce capacity | Pop-up nozzle

Best for Backpacking

Culoclean portable bidet.

It sports a simple design that won’t add a lot of weight to your pack.

You’ll need to have a disposable plastic bottle handy or purchase one of the brand's reusable bottles.

This surprisingly useful portable bidet is great for minimalist travelers. Simply plug the bidet cap onto any standard plastic water bottle, flip, and squeeze. It’s very small and lightweight – perfect for backpackers – and can easily be transported in a small reusable bag. Alternatively, CuloClean sells hygienic bags and reusable bottles so you don't have to rely on plastic water bottles to use this bidet.

The Details: 0.42 ounces | Plastic | Twists onto bottle top

Best Electric

Vikken high pressure bidet.

It’s rechargeable and surprisingly stylish.

While it has two water pressure settings, the lower setting may not be strong enough to provide a sufficient clean.

As convenient, budget-friendly, and portable as many simple bottle bidets are, many of us need a stronger stream to get the job done. Enter the electric bidet. This Vikken bidet is beautifully designed and can do more than 100 sprays on a single USB-C charge, so you don't have to worry about keeping it plugged in while on the go. Once it’s charged, fill up the transparent water holder and flip out the nozzle to reveal a power button with two speeds.

One drawback to this electric bidet is that its 6.7 fluid-ounce capacity isn’t too big compared to other bidets, but you can attach it to a disposable plastic bottle to add more liquid capacity. And if you’re worried about reliability, Vikken offers a 12-month warranty.

The Details: 13.76 ounces | Plastic | 6.7 fluid ounce capacity | Foldable nozzle

Best Lightweight

Tushy travel bidet.

It packs down small and can clip onto the outside of your bag.

It might be tough to clean under the hinge.

Founded in 2015, Tushy’s cute and cheeky (pun intended) ads have managed to convince users to invest in a bidet toilet attachment, and its portable bidet is just as convenient. The unique, collapsible design crushes down to fit in a pocket-sized pouch, and it comes with a carabiner to attach to the outside of your bag. It also comes in a few loud colors, including Friday Fuchsia, and is extremely light when empty.

The Details: 5.3 ounces | Silicone | 11 fluid ounce capacity | Hinged nozzle

Most Easy to Clean

Brondell gospa travel bidet.

This all-in-one device is extremely easy to use.

It looks like a bit like a medical device.

Brondell’s original portable bidet is unbeatable when it comes to value and simplicity. Simply fill up the bottle, attach the nozzle, and spray to your heart’s content. Then give it a rinse and perhaps a little scrub with some soap when you’re finished, before sliding it into the carrying pouch with the nozzle facing down. This portable bidet comes in five colors, though it's not as sleek as other options. Still, it's a great choice for those who favor simplicity while still ensuring a clean feel.

The Details: 3.2 ounces | Plastic | 13.5 fluid ounce capacity | Twist-on nozzle

Tips for Buying Portable Bidets

Opt for lightweight options that are easy to pack.

Everything you pack makes a difference in terms of size and weight, so make sure your portable bidet is both small and light. It’s also important to have a carrying pouch, or at least a reusable bag so it doesn’t drip on your other items.

Consider the nozzle shape

Travel bidet nozzles are usually toothbrush-shaped with one or several holes at the tip for the water to shoot through like a shower head — though they aren’t all the same. Some options have multiple holes while others are bent at an angle. What you pick comes down to personal preference. Many website provide videos of the bidets being sprayed, so you can see the stream before you purchase.

Look for durable materials

Most travel bidets are made of plastic, but some use sturdier silicone. The important thing is for water to come out easily when you squeeze the bidet, though if it’s too soft the plastic can get permanently bent over time. You also want to ensure that the materials can withstand frequent washes.

Using a bidet can provide a better clean than just using toilet paper alone. Some users prefer to start cleaning with a bidet and drying off with a bit of toilet paper to prevent a damp feeling. Using a bidet not only can ensure cleanliness, but it cuts down on toilet paper use.

Bidets are sanitary if you keep them clean, though you’ll have to be careful of bacteria buildup inside the nozzle. You should thoroughly clean your portable bidet after every use and allow it to fully dry before storing it inside any bags.

Any residual spray won’t get inside the bidet container, just water, but you can clean it anyway by dripping in some dish soap with water and giving it a good shake. If your bidet comes a part in multiple pieces, it can help to let them all air dry separately before storing.

A manual portable bidet and a good wipe should do the trick, but an electric bidet will do an even better job. However, the drawbacks of an electric option are weight and price.

This soft plastic bottle has a lot going for it, starting with its low price. It’s also easy to use — simply fill the bottle with water, screw on the cap, position the bottle, point the nozzle and you’re ready for a refreshing cleanse. Another nice feature: The nozzle has 10 spray holes, allowing it to cover a wide area during use .

In addition, our testers noted the compact design; the long nozzle extends before use, then retracts back into the bottle when you’re done so it takes up less space. The nylon carrying case is a bonus. They also found it comfortable to use, especially when filled with warm water. While it's not as powerful as an electric model, online reviewers praised this bidet’s water pressure as well as its cleaning performance and compact design, with one satisfied customer saying the product “changed my life.”

This inexpensive, portable bidet from Uyicoo is the perfect companion for road trips, camping trips and other on-the-go bathroom experiences, especially when space is at a premium. This bidet’s nozzle conveniently fits on any water bottle and offers a wide spraying angle, with an elongated shape that provides a little more reach. At a little over 3 inches long and weighing less than an ounce, it’s extremely compact and can easily fit into nearly any handbag, backpack or weekend bag.

The drawbacks? Some online reviewers reported the device can pop off the bottle if squeezed too hard. Other customers also said the water pressure can be a bit weak, causing it to not always deliver optimum cleaning results.

In general, electric portable bidets deliver a stronger stream than manual models. The Mighty Rock is no exception. This compact electric bidet, powered by two AAA batteries (not included), offers two levels of water pressure, a semi-circular spout for accurate aiming, and an ergonomic design . Moreover, “we like the adjustable nozzle, which makes it easy to target different areas during cleansing,” says Dan DiClerico , Director of Home Improvement & Outdoor at the Good Housekeeping Institute.

Some online reviewers report that the device’s small holes can get clogged with minerals over time, impacting the water pressure. The electric device is noisier than manual models, for those looking to be discreet. Also, this product is double the cost of some of our other picks.

Tushy Travel Bidet

Travel Bidet

This portable bidet’s collapsible, accordion-like design makes it easy to transport , so it's ideal for your next backpacking or camping trip. Alternatively, you can strap the bottle onto your backpack using the carabiner clip it comes with, providing a travel bidet within arm’s reach at a moment’s notice. When it’s time to put it to use, you simply extend the device, fill it with water, and squeeze the bottle . It features a built-in adjustable nozzle and three-point spout, and the product weighs just 5.3 ounces when empty. A discreet carrying case is included.

Nonetheless, the product is expensive compared to many of its competitors. Some online reviewers said the screw-on top can leak, while others reported the unit difficult to disassemble.

Cynpel Peri Bottle

Peri Bottle

Although it’s designed for postpartum recovery, this perri bottle from Cynpel is a solid portable bidet all around. Compact and lightweight, this low-cost option is easy to use : Just fill it with water, hold the bottle upside down, and spritz. The retractable angled nozzle features 10 holes that provide a steady water stream. Another selling point: It comes with a waterproof travel bag.

But not all online reviews are glowing. Some users said the bottle leaks, despite the manufacturer’s claimed “leak-free” design. Some also said the water flow is hard to control, and that the product’s plastic design makes it susceptible to cracks. Still, this portable bidet is one of the cheapest options out there.

How we choose portable bidets

double line break

Over the years Good Housekeeping Institute has tested a wide variety of home and travel products, everything from the best showerheads to the best travel accessories and camping gear . To find the best portable bidets, our experts in the Home Improvement and Outdoor Lab reviewed about a dozen models. We assessed each product’s size, material, price, ease of use, comfort, water pressure and cleaning performance. The top models deliver effective cleaning, are easy to transport and a cinch to clean.

What to look for when shopping for the best portable bidet

double line break

Here are six factors to consider before you purchase a portable bidet:

✔️ Cost: Prices for portable bidets range from under $10 to over $30. But in most cases, there's no need to splurge — a good number of the best portable bidets cost less than $15.

✔️ Nozzle shape: Some models feature an angled nozzle that can be adjusted to fit your specific posture.

✔️ Portability: Consider the product’s weight, size, and design, keeping in mind what will take up the least amount of space. Some portable bidets are collapsible, making them easier to transport when traveling with a small bag. Others are designed to screw onto a regular bottle, making them extremely compact. Most also come with their own carrying bag to keep it discreet and contained.

✔️ Material: Durability matters. Generally, plastic portable bidets are more prone to cracks than more flexible silicone models.

✔️ Manual vs. electric: Oftentimes, electric models — both chargeable and battery powered devices — deliver stronger water pressure than manual devices. But manual are more popular because they tend to cost less, operate quietly and don't require batteries or other power source.

✔️ Warranty: Some portable bidets come with a manufacturer’s warranty, typically ranging from one to three years.

How to use a portable bidet

double line break

It's a fairly simple process regardless of the type you choose. If you purchase a manual portable bidet, you fill the bottle with clean water, position the bottle with the nozzle pointed upward and gently squeeze the bottle while applying steady pressure. If you go the electric route, you’ll need to press a button to turn on the device; some electric models feature multiple water pressure level options.

When finished, pat yourself dry with a small amount of toilet paper.

How to clean a portable bidet

double line break

Portable handheld bidets are perfectly sanitary when cleaned properly. Refer to the owner’s manual for specific cleaning instructions. In many cases, the housing of the bidet, including the nozzle and spray holes, can be cleaned with alcohol wipes. The bottle might be dishwasher-safe, but we don’t recommend washing it with other dishes. Alternatively, you can hand-wash the bottle with warm, soapy water.

Best Travel Bidet Under $75 (Your Portable Bidet)

Do travel bidets exist? Yes they do!

In this article we’ll discuss the helpful device and share the best travel bidet under $75. Believe it or not, a travel bidet is a common accessory in many parts of the world where public toilets are few and far between.

Don’t worry you won’t be lugging a toilet or large device with you. Instead, travel bidets are hardly noticeable and usually fit in a purse or bag. Some are electric while others are manual.

Some of the questions we’ll answer about travel bidets are 1) what is it, 2) do travel bidets actually work, 3) how to use one on the go, 4) the best brands, and 5) the best travel bidet.

Hopefully we answer all your questions and provide some recommendations that satisfy your needs (and your fanny’s needs). Although bidets aren’t as common in North America they are gaining popularity because they work great for cleaning and moisturize. Let’s get started.

What Is A Travel Bidet (Sanitary Bidet Travel Kit)

A travel bidet is exactly what it sounds like. It was created for emergencies outside the house for people on-the-go. Maybe you’re spending the day at the park with your family or maybe you’re hiking in the backcountry and need to make sure you’re clean.

The inventors of the travel bidet realized:

  • Not all toilets would have a bidet
  • Some people don’t like to use public toilet bidet for hygiene reasons
  • International travel means you’ll use different types of toilets (some better than others)
  • A bidet is a very personal item and many people don’t want to share

Some of my friends from Europe carry a travel bidet with them everywhere because they want their own device and prefer not to use the same bidet strangers have used.

If you travel internationally for work or know someone who does, a travel bidet might be a great purchase or gift.

I’ve encountered some challenging toilets in my life and while abroad I’ve been on many toilets without running water or toilet paper – I would have appreciated a travel bidet (I guess travel paper is a good idea too).

Do Travel Bidets Work

The easy answer is yes. Travel bidets work because they initiate a simple task of spraying water.

Most people think of complex technology and electrical power when thinking of a bidet. But the travel bidet isn’t something that needs an outlet, nor is it something that needs to be attached to a toilet seat.

They are hand held and although there are electric options, most are squeeze pressure. Below we’ll discuss how to use it.

How To Use A Travel Bidet

Most of the travel bidets on our list are compact and easy to use. They consist of 2 main parts.

  • Water container (sometimes squeeze bottle)
  • Extended arm (nozzle)

After filling the bottle the nozzle can be attached and the device is ready to use. Spray can be given using the front entrance or back entrance depending on your need and preference.

We’ve also included an electric travel bidet that resembles an electric toothbrush. The nozzle can fold out when needed for use.

The main difference is the compact size and electric spray (it’s also compact and used with a single hand).

Another unique travel bidet option is the portable bidet sprayer that uses a rechargeable battery. It connects to a hose that can be placed in a bucket, bathtub, or sink and pumps water. Although it seems complex it’s portable and easy to use.

There are a number of companies that make travel bidets. The most well-known company on our list is the Toto Travel Bidet.

Toto is a household name in toilets and originate from Japan. It’s no coincidence that Toto is a leader in toilets and bidets. Per Japanese culture, their travel bidets are created with precision and functionality in mind.

A few other brands we mention are:

Brondell Gospa

Very well-known and well liked travel bidet company. Their products are not top-of-the-line but they offer a quality product at a great price.

Shattaf Travel Bidet Sprayer

Shattaf makes a clever tool that has been featured in the media for it being discrete and useful. The device actually attached to a bottle (read more below).

A start-up that uses small silicone and style to create it’s travel bidet. Their product looks great and is extra small.

Boss Mini Portable Bidet

Best travel bidet under $75, #1 toto travel bidet (electric).

As we highlighted above, Toto makes some of the highest quality bathroom products on the market – this device is no exception. I was pleasantly surprised to see Toto offered the travel bidet because most large companies are focused on larger products.

The engineers for this product did well to make it small and discrete (no one will recognize it if they find it in your bag or purse).

Highlights :

  • High quality
  • Water force is strong
  • Takes up little space (easy to carry and hide)
  • Electric (1 AA battery)
  • 9 x 2.6 x 5.1 inches
  • Multiple options for spray (soft or strong)
  • 1 year warranty (as expected from Toto)

One important thing is to fill and empty the device after each use. You wouldn’t want to risk carrying around water in case it leaks (even though it probably won’t).

Toto holds enough water for a single use and the automatic spray options are nice addition. I also like the wrist strap so it won’t fall in the toilet while in use.

Although the cost is a little more than others on our list, the style and functionality is solid. I like this travel bidet more because of the warranty. Great product that is compact and looks good.

#2 Personal Care Essentials – Feminine Travel Bidet

Personal Care Essential makes a great looking travel bidet that has a nifty carrying case. Some real thought went into designing the mini bidet.

This is another electric option that uses 2 AA batteries. Like the Toto travel bidet mentioned above this device folds down, making it hard to notice (perfect for hiding in a purse).

The nozzle folds out from the core of the device and looks like an electric toothbrush. There are two power settings depending on the amount of clean up you require.

  • 1 year warranty
  • Well-reviewed and liked
  • Battery operated (2 AA)
  • 2 power settings
  • Nozzle adjustable to 180 degrees
  • Lightweight (10.4 ounces)
  • 8 x 1.7 x 6.4 inches

The travel bidet is slightly longer than the Toto bidet, however this device is thinner and uses 2 batteries. I like the look and style of this product and I appreciate that it’s electric, however it uses more batteries than the Toto.

Happy customers like that it’s quiet and looks great. A few people mentioned surgery affected their range of motion in their arms and this device helps when cleaning.

Personal Care Essentials comes at a discount to Toto but I’d stick with Toto if you’re looking for longer term quality and a slightly better design.

#3 Brondell Gospa Travel Bidet

Brondell might be the best option for price sensitive people, however it won’t be as discrete as the compact electric options we mentioned above.

If you want something practical and don’t care what it looks like, then Brondell is a great option. Best of all the price comes at a big discount to other travel bidets on our list.

There are two parts to this bidet, the squeeze bottle and the nozzle. Just fill up the bottle before you sit in the toilet and tighten the lid (make sure you tighten firm because some customers encountered leaks).

  • Easy squeeze technology
  • No batteries
  • 400ml capacity for larger clean ups
  • Angle spray to help with aim
  • Super lightweight (2.4 ounces)
  • 3 x 3 x 8 inches

As they say you get what you pay for – but it’s not necessarily bad. The bottle is plastic but it works just fine.

There’s less reach than other options on our list and the amount of water is limited so make sure you hit the spot (don’t squeeze to much to quick).

Brondell advertises this travel bidet for airports and unconventional toilet situations. I like it and I believe it makes a great first-time purchase for a travel bidet. If you like it then you can upgrade to the Toto.

#4 Tesh.Tesh Portable Bidet

The Tesh.Tesh is the coolest looking travel bidet on our list. It’s squishy and colorful. Because it’s made of silicone it can get really small when not being used. When filled with water it expands to full capacity (600 ml – larger than Brondell).

It’s sold in airports and tourist areas and marketed for public toilets, traveling, and camping.

If you’re a minimalist and traveling with very little space, then Tesh.Tesh might be your best bet – it almost folds flat.

  • Squishy silicone (feels nice)
  • 600 ml water capacity
  • Lightweight 5 ounces
  • Measures 3.5 x 3.5 x 3.5 inches
  • Blue and Green Colors

It can easily fit in your pocket so you won’t need to take your bag to the bathroom. The only thing I don’t like about the design is the nozzle – it’s not very long so you’ll have to reach a little further to make sure you hit the right spot.

#5 Shattaf Travel Bidet Sprayer

Shattaf has a novel approach to the travel bidet – and I like it! Rather than make a device that looks like the others on our list, they looked for other ways to utilize water.

In doing so they realized they could simply attach a single piece to a standard size water bottle – this saves a lot of space when traveling.

  • Indistinguishable in a purse or bag (looks like a pipe)
  • Minimal parts (1 part with a few different size rings)
  • 3 x 3.1 x 1.5
  • White or blue color
  • Practical and simple

I love this idea. It comes with one piece, but with multiple rings depending on the size water bottle you use.

Make sure the water bottle contains water and screw on the top and squeeze. The nozzle is not as thin as other nozzles on our list but the length is adequate.

Because it has few moving parts you don’t have to worry about leaks or the product not working. It cleans easy and works on all water bottles; perfect for traveling

Additional Option

My portawash – handheld water sprayer.

The PortaWash bidet sprayer is different than the other options on our list and probably not something you’ll use in a public bathroom. It’s best at a guests home or a hotel where you have space and privacy.

The hose is 6 foot long and the end should rest in a bucket, tub, or sink where the pump can suck up water. The spray is created through a rechargeable ion battery that’s included with the hose.

It weighs 1 pound and it will take up space in a bag so this device should only be used if you’ll be living somewhere without your preferred toilet spray for an extended amount of time.

People who’ve purchased the item love the customer support and the battery life. If you’re coming from a far off land to America and you prefer to spray yourself on the toilet then this is a good option.

It’s also great for cleaning the toilet, sink, and tub if you want a portable sprayer

DIY Travel Bidet (How To Make A Travel Bidet)

Do you consider yourself handy? Think you can make a DIY travel bidet? Sure you can, even though it won’t be as pretty as the options we mentioned above.

When I think of a DIY travel bidet I think of a water bottle with a hole in it. A hole in the cap makes sense but the angle isn’t right.

Instead, punch a hole on the bottom side of the water bottle so water will spray out at a 90 angle (this works better when reaching around your booty).

If you have other ways to make a DIY travel bidet let us, and our readers, know in the comments below.

There you have it, everything you needed to know about the best travel bidets. Traveling can be a real challenge, especially when you’re using new and unusual toilets. Sometimes you won’t even have a toilet or toilet paper for that matter.

A travel bidet might save you and your tush. The best options are simple and discrete. A few of the best travel bidets are even battery powered but if you prefer to keep things simple there are squeeze bottles too.

I really like the Toto because of the brand and the design. If found in your bag people won’t even know what it is, plus it’s made with quality that will last many years.

We mentioned a number of options on our list and hopefully one or two of them met you requirements. Everyone has different needs while traveling.

Sometimes it’s the style, other times it’s the size or weight. Don’t be ashamed to make your own DIY travel bidet either. Punching a hole in a water bottle isn’t that difficult, but there are probably better ways to create one.

As usual, thanks for reading another Toilet Travels article. We love writing about toilets just as much as we love traveling!

Best Bidet Toilet Seat Attachments in Canada

Avatar photo

Toilet paper is still the favoured way of cleaning up after using the toilet in Canada and North America, but considering the recent toilet paper hoarding , we aim to put bidets in the spotlight and show why they are so popular in Europe and Asia. In Japan for example, 77.5% of homes have a bidet.

For those of us who have never used one, they can seem intimidating and possibly revolting. The first step is to learn how they work and the next is learning the facts. Bidets have a number of benefits, including:

  • Gentler cleaning for those who suffer from hemorrhoids or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Require less flexibly to use so they are easier for the elderly, less-abled and obese.
  • Are more environmentally friendly , saving the 37 gallons of water, 1.3 kilowatt/hours (KWh) of electricity and some 1.5 pounds of wood to create a single roll of toilet paper.

The jury is out on which is more hygienic as both toilet paper and bidets have the potential to transmit contagious diseases if not used properly. For bidets, this is of greater concern in public restrooms than in homes.

Whether you want to an attachment that fits on your existing toilet, a new toilet seat with a built-in bidet, or a simple bottle that you can take with you on the go, we have reviewed the top-rated options below.

Best bidet attachments comparison

Best overall – luxe bidet neo 120.

travel bidet canadian tire

  • Four water pressure settings
  • 18-month warranty (plus extended period when registered)
  • Easy installation

Retractable nozzle

  • Build quality issues
  • Connector issues

This Luxe Bidet Neo 120 toilet attachment manages to tick so many boxes. It is affordable, reliable, and constructed from high-quality materials, like the braided steel tubes. Other brands like to use plastic hoses, which are less robust and perish quicker.

As with most bidet attachments featured, this model is self-cleaning, so when you finish using it, there is no need to scrub away any mess. Also, it has a nozzle guard, which further protects against ingrained dirt.

There are four water pressure settings, and it has a retractable nozzle for when the bidet is not in use. And the design is such that it fits almost every brand of toilet.

This Luxe may not be the best for bells and whistles or the cheapest bidet attachment available, but it seems to do everything you want from a bidet, at a fantastic price. We had to make this our best overall.

Best on a budget – LIVINGbasic Hot and Cold Water Toilet Bidet

travel bidet canadian tire

Easy to install

  • Great value for money
  • Cleans both front and rear (Works for different genders)
  • Retractable nozzles
  • Precise pressure control
  • Hot and cold water
  • Elevates the toilet seat

This LIVINGbasics bidet attachment is excellent value for money. It retails at less than most other attachments and yet manages to combine useability with quality.

Let’s start with how easy this bidet is to install. It should be within the capabilities of the most novice DIY enthusiasts, and it is pretty universal, even fitting some 1-piece toilets. Also, you get 2 retracting nozzles that deliver warm and fresh water. It means this bidet caters to both the front and rear ends and is suitable for feminine cleaning.

The nozzles are also self-cleaning. There are 5 water pressure settings that enable you to control the precise flow of the water, and 4 high and low settings for the water temperature.

This bidet attachment is remarkable because it delivers features typically reserved for high-end products at a budget price.

Best remote control bidet – BioBidet Bliss

travel bidet canadian tire

  • Heated seat
  • Massaging jet of water
  • Night light
  • Energy-saving mode
  • Requires electricity

Okay, now we are moving into the realms of royal bidet attachments. This remote control all in one bidet toilet seat is all singing and dancing. It has a heated seat (great for cold winter nights), a warm air drying feature, and adjustable washes for posterior and feminine hygiene.

It even has a night light and remote control.

This seat has a continuous flow of warm water and an oscillating massage feature that delivers the jet of water in a way that cleanses gently. And finally, it has an energy-saving mode.

This is our remote control pick because it has all the bells and whistles, but there is a word of warning; this seat is 8 times the price of others featured in the review.

Best dual nozzle bidet – Luxe Bidet Neo 180

travel bidet canadian tire

  • Dual nozzles for both male and female use
  • Retracting nozzle
  • Nozzle guard for added hygiene
  • Braided steel attachment hoses
  • Water pressure can be painful
  • Prone to leaking

This is the second Luxe product to feature, and this is the 180 model. What makes this different is the dual nozzle that caters for male and female hygiene. The feminine wash is gentler, which is useful at certain times of the month and for new or expectant mothers.

The retracting nozzle self-cleans, there is a nozzle guard for added cleanliness, and it comes with an 18-month warranty, which extends when you register your product online.

Installing this bidet should be simple because it fits most toilet designs and comes with all the tools you will need.

travel bidet canadian tire

  • Half the price of the premium pick
  • Heated seat, air dryer, and air deodorizer
  • Caters to males and females
  • 5 adjustable temperature and heat controls
  • Self-cleaning nozzle
  • Doesn’t fit all toilet designs
  • Pipe connectors difficult to fit

This Toto dedicated bidet toilet seat has front and rear warm water cleansing, so it caters to delicate areas as well as your posterior. It also means that men and women can use this bidet comfortably.

You get 5 adjustable temperature and pressure settings as well as a pre-mist feature to guard against any unwanted adherence. It even has a heated seat and an air deodorizer.

For the price, this one almost rivals the premium choice, but narrowly misses out on that accolade, so we awarded it the best seat bidet. It misses out because while this bidet is cheaper, it doesn’t fit all toilets. It installs better on longer bowl toilets.

travel bidet canadian tire

  • Air dryer and deodorizer
  • Suitable for men and women
  • 5 adjustable heat and pressure settings

Remote control

  • Doesn’t fit all toilet types

This C200 washlet bidet toilet seat is the next model up in the range from Toto. You still get the heated seat, the air deodorizer, and the air dryer, but you get additional benefits too.

On top of the self-cleaning nozzle and the warm water, front and rear cleansing jets, this model comes with remote control. It also has an illuminated touch-pad and 2 user memory functions.

Price-wise, this seat is comparable to the BioBidet Bliss, which we had as our remote control pick, so while you get a lot of extras with this bidet seat, you’ll sure as hell pay for it.

travel bidet canadian tire

  • Stay clean on the move
  • Easy to use
  • No batteries
  • 450 ml capacity
  • Expensive for what they are
  • Basic
  • Feel cheaply made

This is something slightly different compared to the other products we’ve looked at so far. When you travel, especially to countries that typically don’t use bidets, having the ability to take one with you is invaluable.

This travel bidet is a straightforward concept. It consists of a squeezy bottle with a long neck and an angled nozzle on the end. It works by angling the nozzle upwards and squeezing to eject a spray of water on your nether regions.

Each bottle holds 450 ml of water and is small enough to pack in a suitcase. The nozzle has 7 holes to ensure an even spray of the water in the right areas, and no batteries are required.

The downside is the price. These two travel bidets are quite expensive for what they are. Essentially, they are two plastic bottles filled with water.

Bottom line

What to consider when looking for a bidet attachment, nozzle type.

Nozzle type is crucial to how well your bidet attachment functions. You typically get a choice between single or dual nozzles. So what’s the difference?

Single nozzles are more basic and tend to have just one jet or spray of water. They can be a little unforgiving,  primarily because they are geared towards cleaning your rear end after a movement.

Some bidets allow you to adjust the water pressure to decrease the stinging impact that a jet of water brings to your nether regions; however, they are more difficult for women to use because females have different hygiene needs to men.

So let’s look at dual nozzles. These give you the option of switching from cleansing the front or rear, making them much better for women to use. The front jet is often gentler, with some even offering oscillating water jets that soothe and massage.

Put simply, if you are installing a bidet attachment, consider the way that both genders use the toilet and try and cater to both.

Warm or cold water?

Some of you hardy folk out there find a blast of cold water refreshing and bracing. Others prefer the delights of warmth on their bottoms. It comes down to preference as well as budget. Some budget end bidet attachments only offer one choice of water temperature, and it is rarely the warm option.

You need to look for a bidet with variable temperature control. Also, if you want warm water, your toilet will need to be close to your sink so you can run a heated water pipe.

However, if you are willing to stretch the budget, the higher you go up the price scale, the more features your bidet attachment will have. Some premium models give you the option to split between cold in the summer and warm in winter.

The price of bidet attachments varies enormously. You can spend as little as $70 or $80 right up to almost $900. How much you lay out for your slice of luxury is up to you, just make sure you are getting value for money whatever you spend.

You will find some models have everything more expensive bidets have but costs half the price. It doesn’t mean they are the better choice because the high-end models might deliver the same features better.

Unfortunately, bidet attachments are the one product you cannot try before you buy.

Remote control isn’t essential, but rather something to consider if you are spending a lot of money and feel you deserve increased control options. It does make using the bidet more convenient, as you never have to fumble for the controls as you sit there. Other than this, it isn’t a deal-breaker.

Without an air-dry facility, you are going to be standing up with a wet bum. This is essential if you are spending the top budget. Air-dry also means that your posterior gets the gentlest treatment possible, which is good news, especially if you are suffering from an illness that could affect the number of times you need to use the lavatory.

The other advantage is convenience because you no longer need to reach for a towel.

Again, this isn’t a necessity as most bathrooms have air fresheners, but at a specific price point, a deodorizer should be something you would expect. It helps to create a germ-free, smell-free toilet experience.

Premist is useful when trying to keep your toilet clean. It coats the inside of the bowl in a mist of water that stops anything sticking and causing germs or bacteria growth. It also reduces the number of hours spent on your hands and knees, scrubbing the toilet.

Oscillating jets

This is a feature often found on higher-end bidet attachments. The oscillation softens the impact of the water jet and makes the user experience much more comfortable. Typically, dual nozzle bidets have this to cater for feminine hygiene.

A nozzle that retracts is important because every time you use the toilet, you could be making the nozzle dirty. While withdrawn, it is out of harm’s way. And remember, there are occasions when men don’t need the benefits of a bidet attachment because they can pee standing up.

Also, make sure that the nozzle has a self-cleaning function. Most do but double-check because they can become dirty very quickly and end up doing more harm than good.

These bidet attachments are designed for the average person to fit in 10 to 20 minutes. If they take longer or are too complicated, then some people will employ a plumber, and that ramps up the costs further.

Most attachments involve diverting the cold water pipe that attaches to your toilet’s water tank and screwing it to the bidet. For the more expensive models that have warm water functions, you will need to feed the hot water pipe from your sink.

Also, check that your chosen bidet attachment fits your style of toilet. Not all do, so check before you buy.

Most manufacturers offer between 12 and 18 month’s warranty. Luxe gives you the option of extending the life of the warranty if you register the product online after you make your purchase.

That said, some of the budget models only offer 90-days.

Which bidet attachment is right for you?

You are pregnant and want the gentlest toilet experience.

This is an easy one. First, look for a dual nozzle bidet attachment. That way, you ensure that the front and rear water jets cater for different purposes. The rear tends to be more vigorous, whereas the front jet is gentler and designed for feminine use.

Also, consider warm water features, and if you have the budget, an air-dry facility. It means that you never need to wipe or dry again, and that reduces the risks of broken skin and rashes forming.

You have underlying health conditions

For the less able, a bidet attachment is an ideal upgrade to their toilets. Simple things like wiping after a movement can be a challenge, while some may have other ailments that cause them to take trips to the lavatory more frequently than others.

Anything that removes the need to wipe is going to be more convenient, faster, and less prone to injury. Plus, if you do suffer and find yourself in the lavatory more frequently, you reduce the chances of developing a skin rash by removing the need to wipe excessively.

If this is you, we would always recommend dual nozzles and the air-dry facility.

For carers, having a remote control is handy because it means you can control your relative’s toilet experience without being too intrusive. You could even stand the other side of the door while they relay instructions.

It might help your relative feel like they have regained some independence.

You want the most comfortable seat

No doubt that opting for a bidet seat attachment is more comfortable than using just an attachment that slides under your existing seat. The full seat attachment varieties have all the components built-in, and the seats tend to be elongated for a more comfortable experience.

Do I use the bidet attachment before I flush the toilet?

If you want decent water pressure, it is better to use the bidet before you flush. Reducing the amount of water in the cistern will reduce the pressure levels in the water jet.

Are bidet attachments hygienic?

Anything that reduces the amount of paper you use to wipe after going to the toilet is better for you. Bidet attachments spray clean water over your genitals and rear end to clean away any soiling. It removes all traces of the waste material, meaning that you have less hand contact and a cleaner toilet experience.

Also, it will be kinder on your bottom in the long run.

How do I get warm water from my bidet attachment?

That’s easy; first, it has to have that specific feature as part of the design. And second, your toilet needs to be close to your sink so that you can channel a hot water feed pipe to your lavatory.

Without this, you will likely only get cold water.

Good review with one exception. To have heated water one does not need to connect to a sink. Units that plug into a normal 110 V plug will likely heat the water. We are on our second bidet, both heat the water via the 110V plug. Our first unit was by BioBidet, it stopped working after about 7 years. Our current unit is labelled USPA and the heated seat has quit after 3 years.

Hi Mark, I first saw these self install bidet attachments from a Chatelaine article in Jan 2021. It was a Tushy and it seems very popular. How come you didn’t include it in your comparisons? I am shopping I appreciate your article comparing products.

Best Portable Travel Bidets: Keep Your Tush Fresh on the Go

' src=

I grew up in a household that was all too proud of our bidet use. We had a Brondell bidet and we’d call it, “takin’ a ride on the buckin’ Brondell”. Don’t ask…

Sure, you’ve probably experienced the beauty of a portable toilet if you’re a vanlifer or nomad. But a portable bidet is the lesser-known, debatably more satisfying travel tool to keep in your personal hygiene arsenal.

Europe and Asia have already been on their bidet game for years , and bidets are just starting to make a splash , so to speak, in America. They’re a great way to keep you fresh on the go and reduce the use of toilet paper and/or wet wipes. Which saves you money and saves the planet from non-biodegradable PFAS “forever chemicals” that are found in TP and wet wipes. A win all-around!

Best Travel Bidets at a Glance

Best overall : Redsack Portable Bidet Bottle

Most stealthy (with bottle) : Tushy Silicone Collapsible Bidet

Most stealthy (without bottle) : CuloClean Portable Bidet Nozzle

Largest water capacity : Vowcarol Bidet Bottle

Simple and reliable : HappyPo Butt Shower

Most versatile: VIKKEN Go+ (2nd.Gen.) Bidet

Best spray stream : Easy@Home Portable Electric Bidet

What is a Travel Bidet?

A travel bidet is simply a refillable water bottle attached to a tube and nozzle that sprays out water. There are non-electric and electric travel bidets available that can provide varying levels of water pressure, spray precision, and discreetness.

The purpose of a bidet is to wash your groin and/or posterior area from urine or fecal matter by spraying water on the target areas. Just keep in mind that a feminine bidet wash must be performed properly so that infection doesn’t occur, if you get dangerous bacteria near your sensitive bits

How Do You Use a Travel Bidet?

There can be a bit of a learning curve to using travel bidets. Many people report awkward angles, accidentally spraying water everywhere, or ending up with a dripping-wet bum. But once you get the hang of it, it’s an absolute game-changer.

The basic usage steps are the same for nearly all portable bidets: fill the water bottle with cool or warm water, tightly secure the nozzle, resume your preferred position and then spray from either the front or back onto your private parts. You’ll have to squeeze manual portable bidets for water and just push a button or turn a dial for electric portable bidets.

A travel bidet can fit in nearly all travel backpacks or carry-on luggage–some even fit in a purse!

Best Portable Travel Bidets on the Market

When you’re on the hunt for a portable bidet, the key features to look out for are ease of use, compact for easy packing, and (ideally) budget-friendly. Check out my top picks.

Best Overall: Redsack Portable Bidet Bottle

redsack-portable-bidet-purple_-min

Key Features

  • Water capacity: 12.8 fl oz
  • 65-degree angled ergonomic nozzle
  • Collapsible, compact design
  • Comes in a range of cute pastel colors

What I like: This bidet has impressive water capacity for how small it packs up and doesn’t sacrifice on a long nozzle. It’s budget-friendly ($15) and is actually quite stylish! The lid protects the spray nozzle from dirt, dust or other outside debris that could clog it. Most collapsible designs don’t have a long spray nozzle, which results in some loss of spray precision and water pressure. But this design has that by retracting the nozzle into the reservoir bottle.

What to consider : While most reviewers report a great experience with no leaking, a handful report that the bottle feels flimsy and does leak. It seems the design has not been air lock tight for a select few.

Most Stealthy (With Bottle): Tushy Travel Bidet

tushy-travel-bidet-collapsible-expandable-min

  • Water capacity: 11 fl oz
  • Collapsible, soft bottle
  • Folds up into size of palm
  • Short, foldable nozzle
  • Comes with keychain carabiner and travel bag

What I like: At just 6in x 3in in size (expanded), this portable travel bidet is a convenient choice for backpackers or hikers. The included carabiner gives you the option to attach it off of your backpack, where it will stray protected in the durable travel bag it comes in. For such a short nozzle, it reportedly still puts out respectable water pressure.

What to consider : A handful of people report that the silicone can crack or leak along with folded ridges of the water bottle. And if you plan to carry this portable bidet full of water on a hike, it’s going to add a bit of weight.

Most Stealthy (Without Bottle): CuloClean Portable Bidet

culoclean-portable-bidet-cap-min

  • Water capacity: n/a
  • Ultimate discreet; fits into palm
  • Rugged; no parts that can break
  • Versatile; fits varying bottle sizes

What I like: The CuloClean bidet wash is simply a bottle cap with a built-in water valve that weighs just 0.42 oz and can fit nearly any size bottle. Just screw the cap onto your preferred bottle and spray for an instant bidet wash! Ideal for camping and hiking, you can even store it in your car’s glove box. It’s also made of recyclable material.

What to consider : If you use this bidet for backpacking or hiking, you’ll still have to carry a compatible water bottle, which will add weight and take up space. There’s a review stating that water leaks from the valve when turned upside-down because there isn’t a stopper in place. There’s another review that says water pressure is too weak–although I bet the water bottle you choose plays a big role in that.

Largest Water Capacity: Vowcarol Bidet Bottle

large-bidet-bottle-peri-min

  • Water capacity: 18.9 fl oz
  • Easy store nozzle
  • Angled spray head with dust cap

What I like: This large portable bidet holds enough water so you won’t have to worry about refilling midway through your butt shower. And even though it’s big, it’s super lightweight and the nozzle has 360-degree rotation. Many reviewers actually use it at home and not for traveling, since they feel it does a better job than the toilet bidets.

What to consider : Unlike most other portable bidets on this list made of silicone or nontoxic material, this bottle is made of plastic. Of course, it’s near impossible to say if the plastic material could cause harm. But using hot or warm water may release more potentially harmful plastic chemicals.

Most Simple and Reliable: HappyPo Butt Shower

happypo-butt-shower-bidet-min

  • Water capacity: 10 fl oz
  • Ergonomic bottle and nozzle
  • Free of BPA and plastic
  • Comes with storage bag

What I like: Cleaning this bidet is easy because it’s only two simple parts. It is reportedly air lock tight and provides enough pressure for a thorough bottom cleansing. It’s one of the more health and eco-conscious bidets on this list because it’s free of BPAs and any plastic materials.

What to consider : The HappyPo doesn’t have a retractable nozzle, making it less compact and portable than others. One reviewer noted that the water stream comes out a little heavy, meaning after 5-6 squeezes, the bottle was empty. But HappyPo makes an XL portable bidet if you find you need more water capacity.

Most Versatile: VIKKEN Go+ 2nd Gen Bidet

vikken-2nd-gen-rechargeable-portable-bidet-min

  • Water capacity: 6.75 fl oz
  • Electric, USB-C powered
  • Two different spray speeds
  • Can be used with water bottle included or attached to external bottles
  • 180-degree flip-out nozzle

What I like: The two different spray speeds make this portable bidet ideal for truly any situation, from gently cleaning a baby’s bottom to giving yourself a deep clean ;). You can attach the retractable nozzle to either the bottle it came with or an external bottle between 250ml-590ml (8oz-20oz) in size, which makes it super versatile. This sleek travel bidet will discreetly fit in your suitcase and gets up to 100 uses off of one USB-C charge. Lots of reviewers report an impressively strong pressure for maximum cleansing.

What to consider : One reviewer noted that the bidet is a “little loud” when in use–which may make some shy public bathroom users uncomfortable. Others have mentioned that the bidet can’t hold enough water so they have to refill during each use. And with a $39 price tag, it isn’t the cheapest portable bidet on the market.

Best Spray Stream: Easy@Home Portable Bidet

rechargeable-mini-bidet-sprayer-min

  • Water capacity: 11.8 fl oz
  • 4 different water speeds/pressures
  • Can be used on bottle included or separate bottles

What I like: This travel bidet is extremely similar in design and functionality to the Vikken Go+ except it has nearly double the water holding capacity and four different spray settings, versus just two. You can choose both the water pressure strength and the concentration of the flow. And unlike the Vikken, which is made of mostly plastic, the Easy@Home is made of stainless steel and boasts a metal air lock tight seal. It can also be used separately from the bottle and attached to external bottles that use a standard PCO28 thread (30mm).

What to consider : Because it comes with such a bigger bottle, this bidet is a little less portable and discreet to carry in your luggage or store in your glove box. You can opt to just carry around the nozzle for more portability, but a few reviewers note that the nozzle doesn’t fit on regular-sized water bottles typically found in the US, making bottle replacement really difficult. The bottle is manufactured in China, hence it probably fits the typical bottle sizes found in Asia.

What are the Benefits of a Travel Bidet?

Once you’ve experienced a bidet wash, you might just say goodbye to toilet paper. The benefits of a travel bidet include:

Feeling fresh : Keep optimum hygiene at the drop of a hat, no matter where you are.

More sanitary : A bidet wash is more sanitary than wiping with toilet paper because it completely washes away urine or fecal matter, unlike TP where you just.keep.wiping.

Eco-friendly : Not only does a bidet help you reduce the use of toilet paper (and its harmful PFAS chemicals), but bidets are also an eco-friendly alternative to non-biodegradable wet wipes.

Money-saving : A refillable simple portable bidet could replace weeks, months or even years worth of spend on buying toilet paper or wet wipes.

Camping and backpacking : Don’t worry about having to pack out your unhygienic, used toilet paper. Get that shower-fresh feel everyday of your trip with a camping bidet.

Pregnancy mobility : A hand held bidet wash may be easier for an expecting mother to use than trying to reach around and wipe. It’s also been found to be soothing on sore perineums.

Postpartum care : Use during diaper change time to help reduce mess and the use of toilet paper.

Elderly care : Ease the potential difficulty of wiping and reduce the chance of infection or UTIs.

So, Are Travel Bidets Worth It?

I believe they are absolutely worth it. Most travel bidets cost between $15-$40, which seems really reasonable for a product you could potentially use daily. Bidets just have so many obvious benefits: save your wallet, your body and the planet by using less toilet paper and wet wipes that aren’t biodegradable and/or contain harmful PFAS “forever chemicals”.

Particularly, I think a travel bidet is a necessity for any vanlifer since vanlifers constantly have to either go to the bathroom outside or empty their portable toilet. And bidets are simply more hygienic than toilet paper because they can clean more thoroughly and don’t leave residue behind (ASSuming you know what you’re doing).

The 5 Best Bidet Attachments in Canada in 2024

  • Published 9 March 2021 | Last Updated on 23 March 2023

best bidet attachment

Bidets became largely popularized in Canada in the early pandemic, when we all experienced the infamous toilet paper shortage . Before that, bidets were mostly just intriguing toilet seat accessories found in European countries like France and Italy.

If you’ve never used a bidet before, the device might spark some confusion. What exactly is a bidet attachment , and how can I use it?

To help you get to the bottom of it, we’ve gathered all the information you need to figure out what a bidet is and why you would likely benefit from having one. We’ll also highlight the best bidets you can buy in Canada this year.

What is a Bidet Attachment?

A bidet attachment is a toilet seat add-on that fits underneath a toilet seat. It allows you to clean yourself with a spray wand or nozzle after using the toilet. Some bidet attachments will even allow you to change the temperature and pressure of the water sprayed.

There are two main types of bidets available on the market. The classic French bidet, also known as the non-electric bidet, and the Japanese bidet, also known as the electric bidet. The electric bidet functions the same way as the manual bidet, but its features can be operated with simple buttons.

Here is our selection of the best bidet attachments you can buy in Canada this year.

TUSHY Basic 2.0 Bidet Toilet Seat Attachment

  • Easy to adjust spray intensity

What can be improved

We also appreciate that the GenieBidet’s design is modern and discreet.

With almost 4,000 positive reviews on Amazon, we’re confident this is the bidet that will meet your sanitary needs.

The Luxe Bidet Neo 185 features metal and ceramic valves, similar to those used in high-quality faucets. Like most non-electric bidets, installation is quick and easy and is compatible with most toilets.

travel bidet canadian tire

If you’re looking for a more stylish bidet toilet seat attachment, the Brondell SimpleSpa Thinline bidet attachment is a great option. It has a thickness of just 0.2 inches, making it one of the thinnest on the market. This means it won’t leave a gap between your toilet seat and the bowl.

The SimpleSpa bidet is very easy to use, with its twist operation to control water pressure. It also features a more elegant design than most bidets.

Since it doesn’t require electricity or plumbing to work, it’s easy for most people to install.

  • Very thin, so it doesn’t create a toilet seat gap
  • Modern and discrete design
  • Easy to control water pressure

Arofa Handheld Bidet Sprayer

travel bidet canadian tire

If you like the idea of a bidet, but don’t want to have a bidet attachment built into your toilet seat, this handheld bidet sprayer is a great alternative. Instead of being installed on a toilet seat, it’s hooked onto the toilet’s water tank. It has a versatile ergonomic design that allows you to easily clean your front or rear. Water pressure is easy to adjust based on how hard you press down on the handle.

The Arofa Handheld Bidet requires more manual action than a traditionally installed bidet, but gets the job done quite well. One of the best advantages of this handheld bidet spray is that you can also use it to clean other parts of your body, such as your feet or armpits. It can also be used to clean items like cloth diapers.

  • Highly versatile to use and install
  • Sleek stainless steel design
  • Requires more manual action

Why Use a Bidet?

Using a bidet is not only more sanitary than using toilet paper, it’s also a lot more affordable in the long-run than toilet paper. While a bidet is not an essential bathroom accessory, its use offers several benefits.

For example, it lets you efficiently use two different methods to boost your cleanliness. A bidet attachment is also the most efficient and automatic option for cleaning yourself. Just press a button for a refreshing cleanse with room-temperature water, virtually eliminating the need for toilet paper. Your private parts will be quickly cleansed with a refreshing spray of water.

Tips For Using a Bidet

Knowing how to use a bidet is not just about setting up in the right direction. There are also a few precautions that can be taken for a pleasant and efficient experience. For example, you should be aware that the material of your bidet attachment will affect the temperature and pressure of the spray.

It’s also important to know in advance in which direction the water will flow. This will help you find the perfect place to sit on the toilet while using it. Be aware that high-pressure bidets can be powerful enough to reach your face, so keep this in mind when testing out your new bidet.

Finally, keep in mind that since the bidet regularly comes into contact with urine and feces, the device can quickly become contaminated. For that reason, we highly recommend that you clean and disinfect your bidet regularly.

Bidet Attachments FAQs

If used correctly, a bidet can reduce, if not eliminate, your daily use of toilet paper, resulting in a smaller eco-footprint. Since toilet paper requires a significant amount of water and electricity to produce, you’ll also indirectly be reducing your water and electricity consumption! While you’ll have to invest anywhere from $25-150 initially, in the long run you’ll be saving money on toilet paper and the costs associated with certain health conditions.

How and where a bidet attachment is installed will depend on the particular model. Most bidet attachments, however, are installed under the toilet seat. Handheld bidet attachments may be installed on the toilet’s water tank or next to the toilet.

While bidet attachments are useful for most adults, there are some individuals that can particularly benefit from the use of a bidet. For example, those suffering from hemorrhoids, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), or those who have recently had rectal surgery. Since it allows for paperless cleaning, it’s much more gentle and more comfortable for these individuals. Likewise, a bidet attachment is a helpful toilet accessory for people with reduced mobility, such as the elderly, disabled, or obese. Since the bidet doesn’t require physical strength or mobility, it’s easier and more convenient to access.

6 Best electric portable bidets

Reviewed: 6 Best Electric Portable Bidets For Travel

Do you miss the feeling of a clean bum when you’re traveling or out of the house? You love your bidet at home but that doesn’t mean you can’t get the same level of hygiene when you’re out or on the road.

This is where battery-operated portable bidets come into the picture. Take that same cleanliness out with you by packing along a small, handheld bidet that can fit into a purse or backpack.

An electric portable bidet is ideal as they are economical, compact, and come in a lot of different versions. Which version is best for you?

The best electric portable bidet is one that fits all of your criteria based on how you plan to use it. Each one has a specialty that will make it ideal for you. In this article, we review 9 different ones that serve specific functions so you can choose the best option that works for your needs.

Our Top Three

Best overall: blaux electric portable bidet sprayer.

It’s waterproof and has a leak-free design. The rechargeable battery is long-lasting and is good for 100 cycles. Ergonomic and adjustable it is ideal in any setting.

Jump to the review

Best Budget Option: Mighty Rock Meidong Portable Travel Bidet

A great price for a great product without sacrificing quality. The nozzle swivels for a lot of flexibility plus it is compact and doesn’t leak. Very effective!

Most Versatile: Hibbent Portable Bidet Handy Toilette

This handheld bidet washlet can be used with its own reservoir or attached to a regular water bottle. 2 cleaning speeds and high pressure make this a can’t miss product.

Best Overall Portable Bidet Sprayer: BLAUX Electric Portable Bidet Sprayer

Blaux electric portable bidet

The primary reason that we give this travel bidet sprayer the best overall rating is that it has high pressure. Although no travel bidet can compare to an at-home bidet seat, this one has high enough pressure (410ml per minute!) for an on-the-go option that many don’t offer.

Some people may even feel the pressure is too high. Luckily there is a low-pressure option as well.

The nozzle also sets the Blaux bidet apart from the competition. Rather than a concentrated jet of water, it is wider so it does a better job at cleaning the area thoroughly and quickly. Plus it can be replaced if it ever gets clogged or damaged.

Rounding things out is the fact that the bidet is water-resistant so it can easily be washed under running water or even used while in the shower. Also, the rechargeable battery is good for 100 cycles of average use. How long each session is will determine how close you get to that number. With a reservoir of 170ml or just under 6 fluid ounces, it is usually enough for one cycle to get you thoroughly cleaned.

There are a couple of downsides, however. The biggest one being that the charging cable is magnetic and not standard. If you lose the cable or it gets damaged then there is no way to buy a replacement.

Next, the weight and size are not ideal for those that don’t want to carry a big purse.

Verdict: Blaux is a very good bidet that performs well and is a great choice for use on the road or even at home.

Most Versatile Electric Travel Bidet: Hibbent Portable Bidet Handy Toilette

Reviewed: 6 Best Electric Portable Bidets For Travel 7

When you’re out and about, versatility is key for an electric travel bidet. That’s why we chose the Hibbent Toilette for this category. Since it can be used with its own reservoir (165ml capacity) or with a regular water bottle, you have options. Using it with a water bottle is popular for two reasons: It takes up less space in a bag when you don’t attach the reservoir and you get more water per cycle with a water bottle. If you often find the amount of water in the reservoir insufficient then a water bottle is the best solution. (Be warned, however, that the adaptor will only attach to water bottles with narrow spouts.)

There are two pressure settings: high and low. The high setting is for rear wash and it says that it can clean at up to 3 meters or about 9 feet. This number doesn’t mean much and unfortunately, the company doesn’t provide the PSI that it works at. However, it is one of the highest pressure travel bidets on this list.

The low pressure is for feminine wash and is much more gentle. It can also be used for cleaning the rear if you have sensitive skin but it takes up to 60 seconds for the cycle.

Another nice feature is how quiet the operation is. People in a bathroom stall next to you may not hear much noise coming from the device so you can avoid an awkward moment.

Verdict: This is a great runner-up for the best overall portable bidet. It is very versatile and lasts 100 cycles on a full charge like the Blaux.

Best Budget Portable Bidet: Mighty Rock Meidong Personal Mini Bidet Sprayer

Reviewed: 6 Best Electric Portable Bidets For Travel 8

For much less than what you would pay for other battery-powered bidets, the Meidong is still very convenient. It does have dual pressure settings so it can be used both for rear cleaning and for a feminine wash. However, the jet is narrow so it doesn’t cover as much area as the Blaux. It will take slightly more maneuvering to use it as a rear cleaner. It does get bonus points for having a swivel nozzle so it can be positioned well.

The non-toxic silicone reservoir can hold up to 140 ml of water which is definitely enough for feminine washing but for rear cleaning it may need to be refilled.

It isn’t a rechargeable model so it does require two AAA batteries which aren’t included.

Verdict: Although there are better portable bidets available, this is a good cheap option. It is ergonomic, leakproof, and works like a charm.

Best Electric Travel Bidet for Camping: MyPortaWash Handheld Water Sprayer

Reviewed: 6 Best Electric Portable Bidets For Travel 9

Being at an off-grid campsite doesn’t mean that you have to settle for a dirty bum. With the MyPortaWash to go bidet, you can get as clean as if you were in your home bathroom. This is unlike the other travel bidets as it is exactly like the handheld bidet sprayers that attach to your toilet at home. (You can check out our picks for the best handheld bidet sprayers here !)

The way that it works is that you have a hose with one end attached to a marine-grade pump that sits in a reservoir with water. It can be a bucket, sink, or even a stream since it has a built-in sediment filter. The other end is a handheld sprayer that looks like a hose sprayer. The design gives you great pressure and total coverage for easy clean-up.

At 2.5 liters per minute, there is no mess that is too difficult to clean up.

What adds to the value of this camping bidet is the fact that it comes with a shower head so it can serve two purposes. For those concerned about bulk when packing, this bidet is only 1.37 pounds with everything included. It can easily be fit into a backpack and not weigh you down, even though the hose is 6 feet long.

Verdict: This is the ideal bidet for camping, hiking, or even on an RV or boat.

Best Portable Bidet Spray for Postpartum: Insolife Pocket Bidet

Reviewed: 6 Best Electric Portable Bidets For Travel 10

If you’re looking for the best travel bidet for women and for postpartum cleaning, then Insolife is your best option. It is ideal for use as a feminine wash since it has a unique nozzle head with 14 holes rather than the others that have a more concentrated jet. This allows for gentle cleansing on the front or back. Ideal for use as a postpartum peri bottle but much better.

The compact size is also very nice as it is really tiny when separated from the reservoir. It can fit into most handbags and then be attached to a water bottle. However, the reservoir is 200ml in capacity so if you have the space in your bag then this is more than enough for most clean-ups.

The ergonomic design makes it a cinch to use and the 45° angle is ideal to get it to the right spot.

Be warned that the pressure is not very strong. It is not ideal for bum washing unless it is a very light movement. It’s helpful, but not the best when it comes to that. If you are looking to use it more for postpartum or just for a freshening feminine wash then it is the best one out there.

Another thing to be aware of is that it has a ball valve to control the flow of water. This can make the flow uneven or even block it entirely. Luckily, it can be removed which is recommended.

Verdict: It has a lot of great benefits but the pressure is a downer.

Best Compact Portable Bidet: Toto HW300-W Portable Travel Washlet

Reviewed: 6 Best Electric Portable Bidets For Travel 11

Toto is one of the leaders in bidet sales all over the world. Their washlet is one of the best bidet seat attachments for the home. It is no wonder that their electric portable bidet would be rated very highly. It is well-designed and engineered and is the most compact one on the market.

The reservoir is a generous 180ml of capacity. The telescopic body collapses the reservoir when it is empty so it is half the size. This makes it extremely convenient for use on the go as it fits into small purses without issue.

The nicest part is the nozzle as it is very similar to one that you would find on a bidet seat attachment in a home bathroom. It offers nice coverage so you don’t need a lot of pressure to get clean.

For some weird reason, the Toto travel washlet instructions are always in Japanese. If you do buy one and need them in English then you can download the PDF here .

The downside of this washlet for many people will be the price. It is the most expensive of all the ones reviewed here in this article. However, Toto is a major brand in Japan and is one of the most trusted bidets there. Just about every home in Japan has a bidet or smart toilet and many are also using this very same travel version.

Verdict: For convenience, durability, and performance, the Toto is a real lifesaver.

What to look for in an electric portable bidet

How you plan to carry your battery-powered bidet sprayer is going to determine the size you should look into. Usually, they are between 5 and 8 inches long. If you are carrying a purse, then it shouldn’t be much bigger than the palm of your hand. In this case, the Toto portable washlet is your best bet as it is only 6 inches long when retracted.

If the size of the Toto is too big for you then look for models like Hibbent that can attach to a water bottle so you can get away with even less space being taken up by the bidet.

For those with a diaper bag, backpack, or any other large bag, the size won’t matter much. Though, the weight of it should be considered so you aren’t weighing yourself down.

Reservoir capacity

A typical travel bidet reservoir has a capacity of between 140ml and 200ml. How much you will need depends on how much cleaning you need to do. Generally, a high-pressure wash only requires about 30 seconds of spraying to get the job done. With most travel bidets, this is going to mean that you might have to refill the reservoir.

For example, the Blaux model has a reservoir with a capacity of 165ml. The high pressure uses about 410 ml per minute so a 30-second wash will deplete the chamber and require a fill-up in some cases.

If you find that 30 seconds isn’t enough or that you feel like you will need more water then your options are to go for a bidet that attaches to a water bottle. Or, bring a water bottle into the bathroom with you to add more water to the reservoir.

Rechargeable vs standard batteries

One of the worst things that can happen when using an electric travel bidet is that it runs out of power while using it. A rechargeable bidet gets between 60 and 100 cycles between charges and generally a month without charging. This gives plenty of time to get it charged enough to not worry about it running out of power.

A battery-powered one will generally get fewer cycles but won’t run out of juice when it isn’t being used. If you only use a travel bidet a few times per month then it can last for months before you need a new battery.

The benefit of a battery-operated one is that you can carry around a spare battery or two without taking up much space. If you run out while using it then it is easy enough to pop a new battery in and finish up. If a rechargeable runs out then you’re stuck with using toilet paper until you have the chance to plug it into a USB outlet like a laptop or outlet.

The unfortunate fact for both types is that none of the models we know of have a battery status light so you never have any idea of when it is about to run out.

Many travel bidet models have a narrow nozzle sprayer that has a concentrated jet of water. Others have wider nozzles that cover more area. The wider nozzles are better as they clean faster and more thoroughly. If the model you are interested in has a narrow nozzle then look for ones that swivel so you can cover more area and clean more quickly. Quick cleaning is important so you have less need to refill the reservoir.

The noise level

If you plan to use the bidet in a public restroom it may invite some strange assumptions from the others in the bathroom. The noise level should be as low as possible so it is less likely to be heard by others who might assume you are doing something in the stall besides cleaning your bum.

Unfortunately, most manufacturers don’t list the dB levels of the noise so make sure to read the reviews carefully while looking out for how loud it is.

Bottom Line

An electric travel bidet is an absolute must if you have problems like hemorrhoids or would rather not use toilet paper for whatever reason. They are easier to use than a non electric and usually have better water pressure, too. Hopefully, this list has helped you make a decision about which one is best for you.

The Spruce / David Hattan

If improved hygiene and reduced toilet paper waste weren't convincing enough reasons to buy a bidet for your bathroom, bidet attachments make it even easier to test the waters. In contrast to a pricier full bidet unit, bidet-toilet combo, or a bidet seat, an attachment simply installs onto your water line and mounts underneath your existing toilet seat.

We put bidet attachments to the test ourselves, equipping our home toilets with different models. We installed, sprayed, and adjusted attachments with nozzles beneath the seat, plus a few handheld sprayer variations, to find the best of the bunch.

While most of the attachments we tested were easy to install and operate, we found we liked those with clear instructions and a quick setup process best along with controls that gave us no trouble or confusion. We also found the best bidet attachments include extra features to help rinse the nozzles, clean your toilet , and offer warm water sprays to get you neat and tidy after you go.

In our tests, the dual-nozzle setup offered excellent sanitation via a strong "rear" wash and gentler "front" stream, and the adjustable pressure control knob was very user-friendly.

We also loved how smartly designed this bidet attachment is. When not in use, the nozzles retract up behind a small shield that protects against splashes. You can also rinse off the spray elements using the nozzle-cleaning mode.

Like with most bidet attachments, installation is straightforward—it took us just 10 minutes with two people. It doesn't need any electrical connection and fits most standard toilet types. You have to remove your toilet seat to put the unit in place, but you can easily uninstall the whole setup later if needed (a big plus for rental properties.)

Accessing cold water is as simple as attaching a short hose and T-valve below your toilet's water tank. To take advantage of warm water, though, you'll need a sink close enough to supply hot water and connect a tube to. This may not be easily achieved in all bathroom layouts, so while the adjustable water temperature is a welcome comfort, some may be fine with the single-temp Omigo Element variation.

Best Budget

Samodra bidet attachment.

Slim, modern design

No hot water option

Some issues with water pressure and splash

Even though Samodra's non-electric bidet attachment is one of the more budget-friendly options available, we found it to be an effective, frill-free upgrade for any toilet. It primarily uses buttons to switch between its front- and rear-wash nozzles and self-cleaning mode. The controls were simple enough that three generations of women in our test household were able to operate it without any issues.

There's an additional knob that turns in either direction to adjust the water pressure, and while the spray strength seemed weak at times, we had no complaints about its cleaning capabilities. Some water did splash onto the seat on occasion as we got accustomed to the spray's positioning.

We were able to install four main parts of the Samodra attachment in under 20 minutes. It's possible to hand-tighten everything, but we used a wrench we had on-hand for more secure fits. The unit is designed to work with most one- or two-piece toilets, with a very thin 0.19-inch profile to minimize its presence. Not having a hot water option further helps simplify the setup, at the cost of some extra comfort.

Best for Beginners

Tushy classic 3.0.

  • Effectiveness 4.3 /5

Adjustable pressure and spray angle

Especially easy to install with live support available

Many attractive design options

Pricier than similar options

Only one nozzle

New bidet users in particular may appreciate how the Tushy brand doesn't take itself too seriously, using language for the Tushy Classic 3.0's instructions that's a bit cheeky, if you will. The bidet features a buildup-resistant surface and rotating flanges designed to very easily attach to almost any toilet.

It's billed as taking 8.5 minutes to install, but we struggled a bit with removing our toilet seat and replacing it on top of the attachment—if you have installation questions, Tushy offers on-demand assistance from one of their support gurus (a "Poo-Ru") via phone, video, or e-mail.

Operating the bidet is newbie-friendly, too, with just one pressure control knob and a small toggle to adjust the angle of the water stream. We found the angle adjustment to be minimal and would have appreciated a dedicated front-wash nozzle, but we still felt sufficiently tidied. The spray stays well-contained within the bowl, and the nozzle rinses itself automatically.

As a downside, the Tushy Classic 3.0 is noticeably more expensive than many similar attachments, even ones with added features like dual nozzles or temperature control, so it felt to us like some chunk of cost goes into clever marketing in lieu of functional benefit.

Best Adjustable Attachment

Luxe bidet neo 320 plus.

  • Setup 4.8 /5
  • Ease of Use 4 /5

Unique hinge installation for easy cleaning and readjustment

The elegantly styled Luxe Bidet Neo 320 Plus gives its users standout levels of adjustability in a number of ways, starting with the setup process.

Its attachment plates are designed to slide into place, so you only have to loosen and lift your toilet seat instead of removing it completely. This makes it easier to fine-tune the positioning later or move it to a different toilet. The clever hinge construction also lets you lift the entire bidet unit upwards, making it much easier to clean the area than other attachments we've tried.

You get great adjustability in how you operate the Neo 320 Plus, too, with dual nozzles for two wash modes and a lever handle for precise control of the water's pressure as well as its temperature. That's assuming you install the hot water connection, which we were unable to do because of our test bathroom's layout, but we appreciated having the option.

Also note that if your sink water takes a while to warm up anyway, you won't have immediate access to a heated spray from your bidet either.

The model did highlight some weakness in accessibility that many bidet attachments share. Besides the not very inclusive "feminine wash" labeling, the control panel can only be placed on the right, with no left-handed alternative. The panel and its protruding lever are also positioned rather close to the toilet, which can get uncomfortable for larger body types.

Best Design

Bio bidet by bemis essential bidet attachment.

Built-in splash guard

Two wood knob options included

No self-cleaning mode

While many seat-mounted bidet attachments are similar in their design and functional elements, the Essential model from Bio Bidet by Bemis sports a few simple touches that stand out.

The controls are streamlined and intuitive, with a single knob that we found easy to turn to just the right spray strength, no matter who was using it. Twisting in one direction activates the rear-wash nozzle, or go the other way for the front wash.

Plus, unlike most products that commit to a single aesthetic, the Essential ships with two wood-finished knobs to choose from, so you can pop on the lighter or darker one based on your preference or bathroom decor .

Performance-wise, the bidet offers similarly straightforward yet effective cold-water cleaning, a high value among the items we tested. We had no issue installing the attachment with its rotate-to-adjust mounting brackets and water supply connection. Our only minor quibble? The 27.5-inch braided metal hose was pretty visible; being able to hide it away better would've been nice.

Best Handheld

Brondell cleanspa luxury handheld bidet.

Very simple to aim and control

Sprayer holster easily wall-mounted or hung on toilet

No additional parts in toilet bowl to maintain

Should be shut off at water supply each time to avoid leaks

If you prefer a nozzle attachment that you can hold in your hand for full spray control, we found Brondell's CleanSpa Luxury Handheld Bidet (model CSL-40) to be an excellent, affordable choice.

The stainless steel spray head's spring-loaded lever lets you precisely adjust the water pressure, which was plenty strong in our setup, and the 4-foot hose allows ample room to move it around.

There's an additional shutoff lever positioned at the T-valve near your toilet tank to help avoid leakage when the bidet isn't in use. Even though it's an extra step before and after each use, we thought it was easy enough to reach while sitting and a worthwhile safeguard against the risk of water damage.

The simple device is mostly straightforward for homeowners to install. Instead of attaching nozzles to your toilet seat, you have to mount the holster for the spray head to rest in, either by hanging it from the toilet tank with a plastic clip or screwing it into the wall. We did find the instructions lacking in terms of assembling the holster itself, but once complete, the whole system felt well-functioning and unobtrusive.

And, since the hardware doesn't directly attach at the seat and within the bowl, it has less visual and practical effect on your existing commode configuration—you don't have to worry about components in the splash zone to clean or work around.

Best Flexibility

Rinseworks aquaus 360 handheld bidet.

Unique dual-sided thumb controls

Long hose and extendable wand

Multiple certified parts and constructions

The Aquaus 360 from RinseWorks includes a number of clever features that separate it from other handheld bidet sprayers, starting with thumb controls you can access on both sides of the spray head. This makes it easy to hold the sprayer while aiming it in either direction, and the water pressure stays consistent even if you shift your grip, unlike other triggers you need to keep pressed.

A long 54-inch hose adds to the maneuverability and is designed to stay movable even with high pressure flowing through it. You can also interchange longer spray heads and a 5-inch extension for more reach with the sprayer itself. The result is unmatched flexibility in how you can wash yourself off, plus the ability to spray the toilet itself or serve as a rinsing station for other items.

It took us about 45 minutes to finish installation, mainly because we had to drill and mount the holder to the wall after realizing that the holder clip didn't fit with our toilet. Many of the hardware components, though, are backed by NSF certification for safe and reliable use, and an easy-to-reach on/off lever at the T-valve works as extra precaution against leaks.

Type: Non-electric | Dimensions: Not listed | Style: Handheld | Heated Water: No

Final Verdict

Our pick for the best bidet attachment overall is the Brondell Omigo Element+ Non-Electric Warm Water Bidet Attachment , providing stellar value as an effective, attractive dual-nozzle system that's easy to install, easy to operate, and offers the option for a warm-water spray with some additional setup.

For a handheld alternative, try the well-priced Brondell CleanSpa Luxury Handheld Bidet . The stainless steel sprayer is frill-free but effective, in addition to being low-hassle in terms of its mounting options, usage, and maintenance.

How We Tested Bidet Attachments

Our reviewers brought a selection of bidet attachments and sprayers into their homes for an extended period of real-world usage and then reported their experiences with the products. They began by installing the unit at the toilet of their choice, noting the difficulty of the setup process , helpfulness of the instructions, and total time required. (Because of the unique configuration of any bathroom, setbacks were often related to situation-specific requirements and missed steps rather than product defects.)

In testing the bidet attachments, we first checked the controls for their ease of use , whether all household users of the bathroom found it intuitive to operate the product's functions or not. It was also important to gauge the effectiveness of the bidet in its cleansing, including the comfort of various spray modes and pressure levels, the amount of toilet paper still needed after a wash, and the ease of cleaning the bidet elements and toilet itself after use. Finally, we assessed the overall value of each item based on the features, design, construction quality, and benefit it provided for the price.

What to Look for in a Bidet Attachment

Attachment type .

Among the various ways to bring bidet usage into your bathroom, add-on attachments involve the least cost and effort since they require the least new hardware.

The typical type of seat-mounted attachment redirects some of your toilet's water supply through a short hose to a nozzle aimed toward your bottom (sometimes with a second front-focused nozzle as well). Controls usually take the form of knobs or levers on a panel sticking out from the side of your toilet seat, allowing you to adjust the water pressure or temperature, if a hot water connection is available.

Another style of bidet attachment to consider is the handheld sprayer type. As embodied by our best handheld pick, the Brondell CleanSpa Luxury Handheld Bidet , these models offer greater control and flexibility through a pressure-adjustable nozzle head at the end of a long hose.

You don't have to mount them to your toilet seat and operate controls from there, but you do have to mount the sprayer holder to your wall or toilet tank, and often need to toggle a shutoff switch at the supply valve to help prevent leaks.

Features and Functionality

The bulk of bidet attachments on the market are designed to work in a similar way, with controls that activate and adjust the strength of its water spray. Some bidets include a second nozzle for a gentler, more forward-aimed stream labeled as a "front" or "feminine" wash. Often, the nozzles retract behind a splash guard and can be rinsed off using a "self-cleaning" mode.

Select models also have the option to pipe in hot water for adjustable water temperature. The Brondell Omigo Element+ Non-Electric Warm Water Bidet Attachment includes essentially all of these features at a reasonable cost, helping it rank as our best overall option.

While the simplicity of bidet attachments is a draw for many, keep in mind that you can get more comforts and conveniences by investing in a bidet toilet seat , which often uses an electrical connection to power functions like heated seats and air drying.

"Bidet attachments have no need for electricity, which is their main upside when compared to bidet seats," says Daniel Johnson , owner of Many Bidets. "If you're looking for more features, an electric bidet seat is well worth considering."

Compatibility with Your Toilet

Most modern bidet attachments are designed for universal compatibility with the majority of standard toilets, particularly in terms of adjustable mounting brackets or plates that create a tight fit under the toilet seat. You can also check the various measurements provided by the product against the spacing at your toilet.

Some, like our best adjustable attachment, the Luxe Bidet Neo 320 Plus Bidet Attachment , offer an online tool to confirm if your toilet model is compatible or not, or requires extra adapter parts to work.

Beyond the typical two-piece toilets, certain types of toilets pose particular difficulties because of their construction. "Because bidet attachments sit straight across the toilet, they will not work with a french curve toilet," says Johnson. "And if you have a skirted toilet, you'll need a certain T-valve that connects to the water supply instead, making the skirt on the toilet a non-issue."

Another potential hiccup we've come across is if you have a rigid supply line connecting your toilet tank to the water shutoff valve beneath it. Bidet attachments usually require a T-valve to be added on to that supply line, which won't be possible with a rigid pipe there; you'll need to replace it with a flexible hose so the T-valve will fit.

Ease of Installation

Setting up a bidet attachment is a relatively straightforward DIY task, especially compared to installing a bidet as a full standalone fixture, or even replacing your toilet seat with an electric bidet seat.

Some models tout install times of 10 minutes, and the Tushy Classic 3.0 Bidet Toilet Seat Attachment goes as far as listing an 8.5-minute setup. It does earn our pick as the best for beginners since it offers multiple options for on-demand installation support, but expect the whole process to take longer in reality, with existing seat removal and other variables factored in.

Many of the installation issues that came into play in our tests were related to unexpected quirks of the current toilet configuration, which are hard to anticipate since each situation can be vastly different. The bidet attachments in this list, though, provided enough instructions, necessary hardware, and online support to complete the project without excessive headache.

What is a Portable Travel Bidet?

A travel bidet or a portable bidet is actually a small plastic water bottle that comes with an extended nozzle that allows you to spray yourself for better cleaning. These are often small and compact which allows users to travel with them. They can easily fit inside bags, glove compartments, and suitcases.

For regular bidet users, it can be quite hard to use toilet paper when traveling or using someone else’s bathroom. The condition gets only worse for folks that suffer some sort of ailment such as hemorrhoids , itch, UTIs, etc. These folks want a gentler wash and toilet paper can often end up irritating their skins even more.

You can easily and discreetly carry them wherever you like! They often do the same job as a regular bidet. You can even control the spraying by pressing and squeezing the bottle harder. These come with a small air valve at the bottom.

The air valve is a one-way valve that allows air to enter through the bottom while the water flow goes out from the top. This not only makes the bottle easy to squeeze but ensures a consistent spray each time.

How to Use a Portable Bidet?

Using a portable bidet is actually quite simple. They do not have any wiring involved or any complex remote control functions. You only need to follow a few basic steps. In fact, all the best portable bidets actually follow the same steps. These are:

  • Unscrew the top cap of the bottle.
  • Fill it completely to the top. While filling keep your finger on the bottom air valve.
  • Retract the nozzle from the cap and screw it back on.
  • Place the nozzle into the appropriate position.
  • Remove your finger from the air valve.
  • Start squeezing the bottle to spray the water.
  • Adjust the pressure you apply to whatever you find more comfortable.
  • Remove any water left in the bottle.
  • Clean the bottle and wash it with soapy water.

Conclusion:

So, whether you’re looking for an inexpensive option to use in place of a regular bidet or an on-the-go portable bidet spray, any of our best travel bidets will serve you well. These portable bidets are small and compact in size, so they can be easily carried around.

However, they are still large enough to help you get a thorough cleansing without needing any additional refills.

Apart from that, they all are very easy to use as you need only fill them up and squeeze the bottle. In contrast, electronic and even manual bidets require you to go through extensive manuals in order to gain insights on how to operate them. The portable bidet for the toilet is much easier to aim at and much easier to operate.

You can even control the pressure and the position of the spray as well! So, all you need to do is buy one of these and say goodbye to Toilet paper even in the public bathrooms!

Good information. Do any of the bottles squish down, and stay squished, to reduce the volume? When travelling by carry-on only, every cubic centimetre is precious. Thanks.

Sorry, I haven’t found it yet.
