About LANY:

In June of 2021, LANY released gg bb xx , their fourth consecutive studio album. gg bb xx showcased a return to their infectious pop sound collaborating with an array of notable songwriters and producers including Andrew Goldstein (Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Lauv), John Ryan (Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth, Harry Styles), David Hodges (Ed Sheeran, 5SOS, Blink 182), Tobias Jesso Jr. (Adele, Sia, HAIM), Dan Smyers of Dan + Shay and more. The albums lead track was the +5 million video views hit “ dancing in the the kitchen ”—which Uproxx says “showcases the group’s knack for penning relatable pop tunes, emphasizing the importance of enjoying life’s little moments over a joyous beat.” These new songs follow LANY’s first new music of 2021, “ I Quit Drinking ,” a duet with country superstar Kelsea Ballerini which debuted with a live performance at this year’s CMT Awards .

gg bb xx’s release immediately followed 2020’s critically acclaimed mama’s boy —which debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Alternative Albums sales chart with more than 300 million streams to date—

LANY’s breakthrough came with their 2017 self-titled debut, which built an international fanbase and led to sold out arenas across the world. The heartbreak anthems on their 2018 follow-up Malibu Nights cracked the Billboard Album Chart and connected in a huge way across the globe, with their 2019 collaboration with Lauv , “ Mean It ,” garnering further attention. Fronted by songwriter, lyricist and producer Paul Klein , LANY have a social media following of +9 million people, have sold more than 500,000 tickets worldwide and played sold-out shows from L.A.’s Greek Theatre to London’s Brixton Academy. Their songs have been streamed over three billion times with more than 750 million video views to date.

About Surfaces:

Surfaces is a Texas-based duo comprised of Forrest Frank and Colin Padalecki. Forming in 2017, with Forrest manning vocals and production, and Colin handling writing and arrangements, they released their debut album later that year titled  Surf . Quickly capturing the attention of fans, they followed in 2019 with the release of Where the Light Is , catapulting them into stardom with breakout smash “Sunday Best.” The RIAA double-platinum certified track went on to surpass 2.5 billion streams, break into the Top 20 on Billboard’s Hot 100, reach #9 at Pop Radio and led to performances on  The Tonight Show with Jimmy   Fallon ,  Late Night with Seth Meyers ,  The Late Late Show with James Corden , and  The TODAY Show .

They continued their momentum with the release of Horizons , in early 2020, featuring “Take It Easy,” followed by their collaboration with the legendary Elton John on “Learn To Fly” and, most recently, the release of their 2021 album, Pacifico, featuring stand out singles “Wave of You” and “Come With Me” featuring Salem Ilese.

Now, Forrest and Colin focus on the next chapter of their musical career. Redefining their sound and perfecting their craft, the two isolated themselves in a house in Joshua Tree to experiment with new sounds and record. Inspired heavily by the likes of Tame Impala and Tom Misch, Surfaces pushed themselves to venture outside of their norm and craft some of their most innovative work to date. Kicking things off with “I Can’t Help But Feel,” the duo continue to carve their path and hint at more to come.

LANY: Summer Forever Tour

With surfaces and annika bennett.

Los Angeles-based trio  LANY  craft dreamy pop with an R&B spirit, as heard on early EPs and their debut full-length, 2017's LANY. They had another Top 40 showing with their 2018 sophomore LP,  Malibu Nights , before landing their first Hot 100 hit single in 2019 with the Lauv collaboration "Mean It." In 2020, the band reached a chart peak with the Top Ten "Mama's Boy", following it a year later with the Andrew Goldstein-produced  gg bb xx .

Formed in Nashville in 2014 by three friends -- Paul Jason Klein from Tulsa and Leslie Priest and Jake Goss from Nashville -- the members of LANY studied music in college and are multi-instrumentalists. During a trip from L.A. to Nashville, Klein hooked up with Priest and Goss, who were working on their own project, WRLDS. They decided to start something new together and LANY was born. The band's name (pronounced "Lay-nee") is a nod to Los Angeles and New York, marking their desire to spread their music from coast to coast. That music combines the feel of '80s radio pop, '90s R&B soul, and atmospheric synths.

Lany tickets, fiddlers green amphitheatre | greenwood village, colorado.

If you've been feeling some 'Malibu nights these days, fret no more as LANY kickstarts the summer at the Summer Forever Tour. Paul Klein and Jake Goss are set to hit the stage at Fiddlers Green Amphitheatre on Sunday, 18th of September 2022. So, get ready to call your friends and scream 'ILYSB to the boys who blessed our ears with both bright heartfelt tracks and laid-back heartache tunes like "Super Far", "You!", "13", and "Malibu Nights". After their two-album run during the pandemic with "Mama's Boy" and "gg bb xx", LANY is set to rock their fans' hearts live on stage. Don't miss out on LANY by booking your tickets now!

Lany at Fiddlers Green Amphitheatre

LANY, the band that supposedly stands for the distance between L.A. to New York, soon took over the world as fans started screaming the words to "ILYSB" back to Paul Klein, Jake Goss, and now former-member Les Priest. What started out as a mystery who anonymously posted two songs, "Hot Lights" and "Walk Away" to SoundCloud, and labels started expressing interest, LANY has become a staple favorite in indie-pop soundwaves globally.

"We knew we wanted a four-letter word because of design and aesthetic purposes, but as you can imagine, all the four-letter words in the entire world are taken… I eventually thought of the span across the country from L.A. to New York, and at first I was thinking it would be L-A-N-Y, but people kept getting confused on how to pronounce it when I told them, saying things like 'L-A-and-Y?' So then we’re like forget it—let's call ourselves LANY, pronounced Lay-Nee." Paul Klein said.

From an anonymous group having people guess who this band they started to love so bad with "ILYSB" amassing online interest, LANY dropped "Made in Hollywood" and "Bad, Bad, Bad" before their big identity reveal.

The band toured with various artists including Troye Sivan, John Mayer, Twin Shadow, and Halsey. They dropped their self-titled debut album on June 2017, featuring fan-favorite singles "Good Girls" and "13".

From then on, LANY continued seeing 'hot lights as they started taking the world by storm touring other continents and dropping gushing lyrical masterpieces that speak to listeners' hearts like "Super Far", "Malibu Nights", "Mean It" with Lauv, "Okay" with Julia Michaels, and "Thru These Tears".

In 2018, they performed their very first arena show in the Philippines, selling out tickets in just 24 hours. A year later, they touched down on three sold-out shows in Manila.

After 2018's highly-anticipated "Malibu Nights" that gave the whole world some tears and feels with singles "Malibu Nights", ""Thick and Thin", "I Don't Wanna Love You Anymore", and "If You See Her", LANY served fans a glimpse of hope amidst the pandemic through their third album "Mama's Boy".

A year later, the boys dropped their fourth record "gg bb xx", a testament to LANY's growth from their bedroom pop beginnings. Its singles include "Roll Over Baby", "Dancing in the Kitchen", and "I Quit Drinking" with Kelsea Ballerini.

Recently, the band announced the departure of keyboardist Les Priest "to focus on life as a writer/producer in Nashville". Now carrying on as a duo, LANY remains the same loveable and heart-fluttering band that kept listeners company over the past years.

Touted as "primed to reshape pop music's zeitgeist" according to Bandwagon Asia, LANY is set to bring in bigger soundwaves, tears, love, and joy to listeners across the globe. So, hop in and join the crowd at the Summer Forever Tour led by the one and only LANY. Book your tickets now!

LANY Profile

LANY is an American indie pop band from Los Angeles.

LANY was formed in March 2014 when Paul Jason Klein, who had a small solo career, flew to Nashville to meet up with friends Jake Goss and Les Priest. The following month they uploaded two songs, “Hot Lights” and “Walk Away”, to SoundCloud incognito in order to differentiate between their old and new projects.

Their debut EP, Acronymns, followed later that year, with the song “ILYSB” generating significant interest online. Singles “Made in Hollywood” and “Bad, Bad, Bad” soon followed, along with the reveal of their identities.

LANY’s self-titled debut album was released in 2017. It contained some of the singles from their EP along with new tracks. The debut album contained the singles “Good Girls”, “13”, and “Super Far”.

LANY’s follow up album was “Malibu Nights” released in 2018. That album had the singles “Thru These Tears” and “I Don’t Wanna Love You Anymore”.

In 2021, LANY returned with a new album and gg bb xx tour. They followed that up in 2022 with the Summer Forever tour.

Nothing is random. LANY go to great lengths to assemble each element of their music with a commitment to careful craftsmanship and a fine artist’s attention to detail. The multiplatinum Los Angeles-based duo—Paul Jason Klein [vocals, guitar, keys, production] and Jake Clifford Goss [drums]—create handcrafted pop rock enlivened by big screen-style soundscapes and emotionally charged performances. Logging thousands of hours in the studio, you’ll hear their energy in every note, feel their vision in the production, and see their aesthetic in the merch and stage show ( always proudly designed by Paul on his 2015 MacBook Pro!). As a self-contained D.I.Y. creative entity, they’ve consistently evolved without compromise. Once again, they forge ahead on their fifth full-length and very first independent album, a beautiful blur .

“The music is incredibly intentional,” affirms Paul. “We make everything ourselves, and we always have. You’ll get our DNA and thumbprint on everything we do. That’s why LANY is what it is today. So, this album is the last year-and-a-half of my life both musically and thematically.”

It also represents the next step in a natural progression for the group.

Since 2014, they’ve notched four gold singles and a platinum single in between emerging as an acclaimed arena-filling force around the world. At the end of 2021, Paul and Jake commenced work on what would become a beautiful blur . For the first time, the duo bookended the writing process with intermittent global touring throughout 2022. Naturally, the writing sessions absorbed the musicians’ live energy. The guys dug deep into their roots, nodding to formative influences such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Sting, and The Killers, to name a few.

“We sound like a band more than ever,” he notes. “This was an interesting season because we went on tour for a little bit, came home, wrote, went back on tour, came home, got in the studio, started recording, and went back on tour again. It split everything up for us. We took the energy of what it feels like to be at a LANY show into the recording process. There are a lot of deep references to inspirations that are true and embedded in our souls.”

This time around, the band opted to reunite with producer Mike Crossey [Arctic Monkeys, Twenty One Pilots] who helmed the seminal Malibu Nights in 2018. Referring to Mike as “Coach , ” they zeroed in on the musical direction together.

“When we first met Mike, he said, ‘LANY is like an Italian dish. There’s not a ton of ingredients, but the ingredients are absolutely essential, so let’s make them the best they can be’ ,” recalls Paul. “It was such a beautiful metaphor. We look up to Mike because he’s relentless in his pursuit of excellence.”

The group introduce this era with “Alonica.” On the track, dreamy guitar practically melts into an airy beat as Paul’s voice carries the wistful hook. This slow burn unspools as an escapist fever dream.

“ ‘Alonica’ is a place inside of yourself,” Paul goes on. “It’s a state of being where you feel satisfied and comfortable. There was a moment in my journey where I felt safest alone. Before you can love anybody else either in a platonic or romantic sense, you need to love yourself. I finally reached a place where I was enough for me. I decided to be happy; nobody was going to decide it for me.”

On the other end of the spectrum, the single “Love At First Fight” turns on a dime from a vulnerable acoustic opening into an upbeat bridge punctuated by a punchy riff and sharply sardonic chorus, “It was sparks at first sight, but it was love at first fight . ”

“In a relationship, you learn a lot about a person from the first argument,” laughs Paul. “It’s an indicator of the relationship’s trajectory and whether it’s going to work out or not.”

As the first tune penned for the album, “XXL” stirs with stage-ready spirit boosted by a stadium-size refrain and soaring guitar solo. The sound of a rare Southern California downpour sets tone for “It Even Rains In LA.” Eighties-esque neon keys underline a funky strut as a skyscraping chorus takes flight.

“L.A. is supposed to be paradise, but it still rains here,” he observes. “Everybody has a bad day. Sonically, it’s meant to be a big fucking rock band song.”

Glimmering electronics give way to breezy strumming on “Out of My League.” Holding the notes in a hypnotic high register, Paul confesses, “She’s out of my league in every single way . ”

“There’s a sense of nostalgia, but it feels fresh,” he goes on. “My friend had just begun dating this girl, and he liked her so much he was scared to even think about what it would be like to not have her around. It was pure, beautiful, and inspiring.”

Representing another evolution, “(Saturday Night) 3.22am” pays homage to the likes of Fred Again.. and Kygo. Nocturnal beatcraft pulsates, and Paul’s vocals echo, “It’s always summer on the West Coast . ”

“We definitely added seasoning and texture to these little moments,” he says. “It’s got a big fat melody and hook, and the title is appetizing. It makes you wonder, ‘What’s this about?’ ”

In the end, a beautiful blur finds LANY deliberately transmitting an uplifting message.

“ a beautiful blur shows optimism,” Paul leaves off. “You hope you make it through and see the light at the end of the tunnel. The idea speaks to almost any human on the planet. We’re all not where we want to be, but we’re not where we used to be and we’re doing our best. I fail. I mess up sometimes, but I try to get things right—hopefully more than I get them wrong. There’s a spirit of resilience and ambition. To me, that’s LANY.”
