It's funny how so many of those American Netflix stand-up specials are available on LB and TMDB, and so many of the British equivalents appear and then disappear on here. Kevin Bridges is one of the finest Scottish comedians of the last twenty years, and I've reviewed two or three of his previous releases, but as Mark Cunliffe pointed out, they've disappeared yet again from the database.

This new release is decent, and the numbers that Bridges quotes in the opening minutes should tell you why. He's done a 19 gig stint at the SSE Hydro, 12000 tickets per night at £35 each, that's nearly £8 million, it's no wonder he's in good spirits. He's not Billy Connolly, but his…

This is the fourth DVD stand up show from Kevin Bridges, but it's now the only one listed here on LB, because the idiots at TMDB have set the previous ones as 'video only' releases, despite them all being broadcast on TV.

Like most DVD stand up shows, this has been edited down to an hour for its BBC broadcast. I don't mind Bridges, he can be quite funny, but I do have some minor irritation at the way he enunciates words at times for effect and he seemed to be doing it an awful lot here. Nevertheless, it's an enjoyable enough show that takes in the positives and negatives of social media and the internet, as well as a funny, but rather traditional routine about Joseph, the carpenter who raised Jesus as his own son, and I laughed a couple of times overall, but I suspect that overall it won't be especially memorable.

Not to over share on Letterboxd, but standup comedy is probably the one art form that I’m most passionate about and I’ve watched this special as well as many others by Kevin Bridges for years at this point. I think he’s one of the best working right now and I absolutely loved watched this all the way through for the first time. He is awesome.
