Tablet preowned factory reset but no keyboard or the email linked to the table what can I do

If the preowned RCA Voyager tablet has been factory reset but there is no keyboard or the email linked to the tablet, you can try the following steps: 1. Connect an external keyboard: If the tablet does not have a built-in keyboard, you can connect an external keyboard using the USB port or Bluetooth. This will allow you to input text and navigate the tablet. 2. Reset the tablet again: If the factory reset did not remove the email linked to the tablet, you can try performing another factory reset. This will erase all data on the tablet and restore it to its original settings.

Let’s Get Small – The RCA 7″ Voyager II Tablet

Skeptical? Of course you are. Unless you’re a diehard fan who only pays top dollar for the latest Nexus or Galaxy, you’ve likely been burned by barebones tablets before. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what RCA’s Voyager offers for its positively paltry price.

Overall, the Voyager II is a decent looking piece of kit. While the back of the system’s casing, with its rigid plastic and single speaker pass-through, feels a tad sketchy, it does offer a number of color options, which is nice if you’re looking to pick up multiple tablets for various family members. More importantly, its 7″ touchscreen offers a lovely 1024 x 600 display that’s also nice and responsive.

Under the hood, the Voyager II sports a 1.3GHz Quad-Core processor, which manages to keep up nicely despite its single GB of DDR Ram. I generally used my review unit for light reading–okay, mostly comics–and your standard email and web browsing. Still, to my surprise it did hold its on in the gaming department, even with more resource intensive titles like Shadowrun Returns and its sequel, Dragonfall .

Multimedia was a bit of a mixed bag, with video quality in apps like YouTube and Netflix appearing universally solid, though sullied slightly by the tablet’s tinny, insufficient speaker. I do give the Voyager extra points for including physical volume buttons (as opposed to limiting you solely to finicky virtual controls), but you’ll definitely want to use headphones for your listening pleasure.

This little RCA tablet is Google-certified, which means you have a myriad of Google Play apps at your disposal–as opposed to Amazon’s similarly-priced Kindle equivalent , which primarily ties you to Amazon’s own app marketplace. It runs Lollipop (5.0) and supports Bluetooth (4.0), which, while not exactly bleeding edge, seems more than acceptable in such a low-priced system.

Still, despite being impressed overall, I do have a couple of gripes. The Voyager’s front-facing 1MP camera, for example, is all but useless in not only dim light but often indoors as well. I understand that cameras are standard on pretty much all touchscreen devices at this point, but I’d have preferred no camera at all to one with such obviously limited functionality.

My only major complaint, though, concerns storage. My review unit came with slim 8GB onboard, but I wasn’t particularly concerned due to the inclusion of a MicroSD expansion slot. The tablet recognized and mounted every card I put in it, and even let me set this extra space as the default storage location. Sadly, I quickly discovered that removable storage only works for files (and not app installations) on the RCA Voyager II.

But, even with that caveat, I’m inclined to recommend the device for those looking for an affordable but still functional tablet for kids or easy on-the-go use. Why? Well, currently Wal-Mart is offering the 7″ Voyager II 8GB model for an unbelievable $35 , with its 16GB big brother still coming in under the magic $50 price point . While it’s neither a speed demon nor a workhorse, this RCA tablet offers an impressive amount of functionality–especially at those prices.

With the holidays coming up, you’re likely in the market for some budget-friendly tech, and the Voyager II definitely fits the bill for young (or even older) users in need of a reliable tablet. Or maybe, like me, you’re just looking for a perfectly portable way to enjoy your Comixology or Marvel Unlimited collection in a nicely unobtrusive footprint–in which case the diminutive RCA Voyager II 7″ tablet is a perfect fit.

Thank u so much for this review!!! Someone I know JUST asked me about this tablet about 1 hr ago, and then I posed a question in my search bar. Thanks!!! The friend wanted a good front facing camera too, so your review on that also helped a lot!! I also couldn’t believe that apps couldn’t be put onto the micro sd card!! Thanks!!

How long does the RCA Voyager 7 record on the camera?

Depends on how much memory you have.

That (no apps on the SD card) is a limitation of Android, so it’s not really fair to ding RCA for that. After installation, some apps can move some of their storage to the card via Settings. No idea why some of them can move 90% and some none at all, but there you are.

Actually, on the RCA Voyager II you can’t move ANY of the apps. The reason for this is that the version of Lollipop it runs, doesn’t allow it. I have this tablet and have looked into it because I don’t have enough storage to have all the apps I wanted to on it.

I really like this tablet thanks for this article I suggest you also to see this review of Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 Link >>> http://www.greattechnologie.com/samsung_galaxy_tab_pro_12-2_review/ <<< good luck

I’m in love with this tablet! It looks like a giant cell phone! Perfect for my little nads yet big enough to give me the clarity I need! The only con is the camera….it only had a front facing camera and the resolution looked semi like an oil painting but it still take hood picture. (I like my Snapchat) . overall, this was money well spent!

“Perfect for my little nads”

Um… maybe you mean “hands”?

Does anybody know if any brand of headphones fit the Voyager II?

They all should.

Junk I bought 3 of these for Christmas last year and had to send all of them back to RCA within months of each other they all did the sane thing my nephews were unable to type on them unless they turned them sideways they got to the point they could not get the screen to respond when the apps were touched one tablet and they did this just as Walmart’s period was over so I had to get in touch with RCA because my protection plan made me contact them since they were still under warranty, one that they replaced would not turn off after getting it back for 2 weeks, now the last one the speaker went out he was using headphones and then all the other things started happening to it I’m waiting for them to respond to my 2nd request sent one last week and no response.

Love my RCA VOYAGER. Came with keyboard case for $49. Just need sd card.

Hey so I was wondering what the difference between the one and two are? Is it size or just space?

Specs as well.

I love my RCA tablet.but what’s the best antivirus protection app for the RCA Voyager 2 ? An also I find my battery drains real quick like within 2 hours I have my o recharge..can someone help me what can I do to improve battery life

Bought 2 last year for Christmas…just bought two 16 GB for $30 each. Love them!

Do these have a GPS receiver?

What’s th we difference between 1 and 2? Found a tempered glass for the 2 only and want to know if it’ll fit the 1 before I spend $30.

Size is the same, I believe.

Can u reverse the camera on this thing?

I have the original RCA Voyageur 7″ tablet. I’ve had it 2 years now, and it suit my needs, fine. My only issue is, how on earth do I get out of, “incognito,” mode? That mode stops me from searching on some sites. Tells me to open Chrome, and look for the, little box in the upper right. Tried that, no little box there. Grrrrr, thank you.

Need a case like a Outter box where the screen want get broke what case fits it maybe a Samsung galaxy tab 4 case

Dose it take a Sim card for T-Mobile

This is also what I’m trying to find out.

Umm I have this tablet for my child and the speaker stopped working. Where can I order a replacement speaker?

You’ll need to contact RCA.

Where do I go to find the webcam and the instructions on using it. Would luv to talk to our grandkids if I could figure out where it is and how to use it…

It’s built in. Just go to the camera app. Works with Skype and other chat apps.

Very impressive design and performance, i have recently review it.

Is this tablet GPS capable?

Can i put an att sim car in a rca voyager

I do not believe so.

Hey just got my second Voyager, the second one had to replace the first because I couldn’t get the screen to stop timing out after about 5 seconds. I tried going into settings/display/sleep and then adjusting the timeout but both of the units still dim out after about 5 seconds or so. I did a hard reset after talking with RCA via chat but still the same thing. Both of the tablets were fresh out of the box so I can’t figure out what is the issue, and I can’t find anything online or youtube suggesting any fixes. I like the tablet but this is ridiculous to have to keep touching the screen or power button every couple of seconds to prevent it from timing out. I think might just have to return this second one as well. Any suggestions?????

Try reaching out to RCA.

RCA Voyager 7-inch Tablet Review

RCA Voyager 7-inch tablet : First things first. This tablet costs you only and only $50 and is pretty much the most affordable tablet available on the market. This tablet is best built for kids and individuals who want to use this to get basic tasks done like editing or creating a document or even studying for that matter. It is not a very competitive tablet and thus does not lean on providing a lot of features and specifications. But this is undoubtedly perfect for people with minimal approach and usage. Does this come with decent specs that make it ideal for you? Let’s check it out.

Features and Specifications

As mentioned above, this humble tablet offers you the best of the minimal world. Excellent build quality, decent storage, lightweight, and good display features! All in all, this tablet does the job of a partner who assists you in daily tasks. Nothing more, nothing less!

RAM and Storage

The RCA Voyager 7-inch Tablet offers you 1GB DDR3 SDRAM which is decent enough to handle your media files and documents without any hassle. Typing on the word was normal. Editing a photo, I clicked using a basic editing app was smooth too. However, if I opt to install games on it, it will start to give me some lags, because of course it is not built for massive games. Even the best of smartphones in the market with great RAM gives you that glitches while gaming heavily. Apart from that, this RAM is adequate and efficient to meet your daily tasks. Talking about the storage, this basic tablet has 16GB of storage memory which is pretty good. You can also expand the onboard memory by putting in additional memory via the microSD card slot. The actual storage might vary a bit because of internal files and pre-installed apps. But this does not cause hindrance, and transferring or storing data is pretty smooth.

Buy From Amazon

Processor and OS

On the processing front, it equips a quad-core processor clocked in 1.2GHz which gives the tablet smoothness to handle any multimedia. It does not add up to the speed, but rather maintain the original performance up in pace. Shuffling to and fro different apps surprisingly did not give lags. Surfing the internet was as good as expected. So I can say this is pretty much a good processing promise in such low cost. Also, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is called sweeter than most android version. It has better functionality than previous versions and offers more internal customization than before. This OS is specifically designed to make functionality easy and provides several shortcuts for easy access to apps and files.

Design and Display

This tablet has a good build quality and weighs just 0.61 lbs, which is very light! With dimensions of 7.3″ x 0.49″ x 4.5″, it has a 1024 x 600 resolution giving you good visual quality and brightness. The 7-inch screen space is decent enough to type and work on your documents. The only part that turns me down is the thick bezels. It covers and takes up a proportion of the screen. But as this tablet is a very low-cost device, I can’t complain about every inch of detail. Moreover, the thick bezels help while holding the tablet while watching a movie or typing data. The display features the Swype Keyboard too which helps in faster typing. You have to slide between letters, and the keyboard algorithm will send the required word. I must say, playing 4K videos was not as magnificent as expected, but it does give you the right colors on the front which kind of balances the whole visual experience of it.

Battery and Ports

It is powered by one lithium polymer battery which gives you 6 hours of charge which was pretty decent for me! A 100% charge allowed me to watch two movies entirely. At the same time the long lasting charge fluctuated between 4-6 hours when I connected it to the network connection and downloaded some files and watched movies simultaneously. I was not too uptight about the capacity fluctuating, because this tablet isn’t something you use for serious work which needs long hours of prodding. It has a nice slot for charging. Other ports and slots include one microphone jack, one headphone jack, and one microUSB 2.0 port. All these ports including the microSD card slot makes this tablet a versatile one which lets other devices connect, expand memory and work on it.

Camera and other supports

It has a rear webcam resolution of 5MP with digital zoom and auto-focus. This tablet also has a front camera which can be used for clicking selfies. The images captured by the camera gives you a decent quality. But anyways tablets are not used extensively for taking photos. Imagine you holding that big tablet and clicking a photo instead of just shaking your phone up for a high quality picture. Apart from that, it has a built-in 802.11 WiFi and Bluetooth v4.0 which helps you on the connectivity front. The bluetooth of this device is specially efficient in stronger and faster pairing to bluetooth devices. It also has a speaker on the back which is loud enough to be your small stereo system. I wouldn’t say this has a pristine audio quality, but it is not bad at all! It supports all popular media formats and has an Android music player too.

Final Verdict

The RCA Voyager 7-inch Tablet is a very inexpensive device which can be availed by anyone for quick and daily use. Mostly, it can also be used as kid’s tablet. Why? Because it does not charge you heavy and can be used as your digital partner for studying and watching videos. Not saying that this a very premium high-end processing hulk, but this gets you through the day without facing lags or glitches. It will cost you just $43 on Amazon. (The other versions of this tablet with dual cameras and more specs are available too!)

RCA Voyager III review: Even at $50, this tablet can't hold a candle to Amazon's Fire

Sold exclusively via Wal-Mart in the US, the $50 RCA Voyager III tablet isn't worth your pennies.

rca voyager tablet have bluetooth

A quintessential bottom-of-the-barrel tablet with barebones features, the simple 7-inch RCA Voyager III is sold exclusively through Wal-Mart for only $50. That's a helluva bargain when compared to, well, any tablet other than the Amazon Fire.

rca voyager tablet have bluetooth

RCA Voyager III

The bottom line.

Amazon caused quite a frenzy in 2015 when it released the $50 Fire tablet. For a (then unheard of) jaw-droppingly low price, the Fire turned out to be a pretty decent tablet -- for its price. (The Fire retails for $50, but you can currently find it on sale for $40 .)

The RCA Voyager III is the fugliest tablet I've ever seen

rca voyager tablet have bluetooth

It's hard to be disappointed in a cheap tablet, because, really, what do you expect for $50? Aside from checking email, light reading, casual web surfing and maybe streaming a movie or two, a $50 tablet can't do much. (And anyone who thinks a budget tablet can be used as an everyday laptop replacement or a great video-watching device is highly delusional.)

Yet, the RCA Voyager III doesn't hold a candle to the the Fire. In comparison to the Amazon tablet, it's an unattractive, slow and lackluster tablet. The only thing is has going for it (besides it rock-bottom price) is its Google Play Store access. If you're strapped for cash and can't afford anything more, take my word for it, you're better off choosing the Fire (which you can side-load Google Play apps onto anyway).

rca-voyager-tablet-8198-001.jpg

This Voyager is going nowhere.

This is the fugliest tablet I have ever seen. And I've seen a lot of tablets.

Maybe it's because I'm fresh off reviewing the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, one of the best-looking Android tablets ever, that in comparison the RCA Voyager III looks like a crime against the evolution of tablet design .

rca-voyager-tablet-8198-001.jpg

What are those??

It's not even the outdated, girthy, all-plastic design that offends, that's to be expected of a budget tablet. It's the other bewildering design choices that perfectly exemplify why RCA (or the low-rent electronics company that licensed the old RCA name) should probably leave tablets to the experts.

The biggest aesthetic assault happens on the tablet's bottom edge, where there are three highly visible screws interchangeably sandwiched between the power button, volume rocker and headphone jack. I cringe every time I look at them. What is this, a prototype? Even as ugly ducklings , most tablets avoided such an ugly faux pas.

rca-voyager-tablet-8198-001.jpg

The speaker on the back of the tablet is also an unsightly eyesore. It has a grill with holes so large, food crumbs and other debris easily fall into it. (Not to mention the speaker quality is crap.)

To be sure, all cheap tablets have to cut corners somewhere to meet their low price point, and design is often one of them. Even the Amazon Fire is homely at best, however the RCA tablet's crude construction is appallingly bad.

rca-voyager-tablet-8198-001.jpg

It's like they weren't even trying to make it look decent.

Almost-pure Android

The RCA Voyager runs a mostly pure version of Android 6.0 with a few pre-loaded apps, like Wal-Mart and Vudu, as well as Google's suite of apps, including Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps and Google Docs.

rca-voyager-tablet-8198-001.jpg

The Google Play Store has more apps than the Amazon App Store.

Even though it's an outdated version of Android, the uncluttered OS is a nice feature. In comparison, the Amazon Fire runs a custom version of Android that works great if you're a Prime member, since it allows for easy access to the free TV shows, books, movies and games that are included in a Prime membership. However, if you're not a Prime member, you're left with a limiting experience.

Importantly, the RCA tablet has access to the Google Play Store. This is one big advantage over the Fire. Amazon tablets are limited to the ultra-curated Amazon App Store, which doesn't have as many apps available as the Play Store.

Using the Voyager III, I was able to download useful apps like TurboTax Return and Splitwise , as well as new games like Super Mario Run and Power Rangers: Legacy Wars , all currently unavailable through the Amazon App Store. There's a difference between the ability to download these apps and games and the ability to run them, however.

rca-voyager-tablet-8198-001.jpg

Super Mario Run isn't available on the Amazon App Store.

If tablets were animals, the Apple iPad Pro 9.7 would be a cheetah, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 a lion, and the RCA Voyager III would be a sloth. The Amazon Fire? A manatee, probably.

People -- the point is that this thing is slow as hell. If you're simply giving this to your kid, maybe it'll teach them that patience is a virtue. Maybe they'll get weary from waiting for Super Mario Run to load and go outside for a run themselves. My arms got tired of holding the tablet more from waiting for apps, websites, games, and game levels to load than from actually using it.

rca-voyager-tablet-8198-001.jpg

Even simply browsing the web felt like a slow-motion chore.

For light reading, checking email, the occasional YouTube hole, watching an episode or two of your latest Netflix obsession, or lurking Facebook, it was fine. Just... fine. Aside from everything taking an extra long time to load, once loaded it would function normally -- unless scrolling. Scrolling was always slow.

Note that on some of our benchmark tests, the Voyager actually scored better than the Amazon Fire, but in hands-on use, it felt pokey, even by budget tablet standards. Once games finally launched they tended to run fine as long as no other apps were open in the background. Choppy graphics in games like Asphalt 8: Airborne was a very common problem.

RCA Voyager III specs

System configurations, google octane, geekbench 4 single-core, 3dmark ice storm unlimited, streaming video battery test.

The tablet's smudge-friendly screen looked fine from straight on, but it has terrible viewing angles. Shift it a few inches in any direction and the viewing experience is dramatically diminished. Response to taps and swipes consistently lagged, yet it usually reacted swiftly when gaming. It's every other activity that causes it to pause, take a few seconds, then react.

rca-voyager-tablet-8198-001.jpg

The screen looks decent -- at the right angle.

On top if it's frustratingly slow speeds, its performance was consistently buggy at random times. For a few days, I couldn't get the Vudu app (which is owned by Wal-Mart) to launch without crashing -- and it was a pre-installed app. I also had it randomly shut down while downloading updates.

Then there's the pitiful battery life. In our streaming video playback tests, it lasted 3 hours and 23 minutes. Anecdotally, during heavy use (lots of app downloading, streaming video, surfing web and gaming) it lasted me for about 3 to 4 hours. When streaming video it usually lasted about two or three episodes of an hour-long TV show. This is where the Amazon Fire tablet really leaps to the front, as it ran the same test for close to 7 hours.

We asked RCA about the very short battery life, and the company told us: "While battery life expectancy is 6 hours, customers' experiences may vary when viewing media, gaming or using any other applications that drain battery power quickly, for long periods."

rca-voyager-tablet-8198-001.jpg

The big speaker grill is overkill.

It ain't me, babe

Is it possible to buy a decent budget tablet? Yes. But it's not the RCA Voyager III.

If you're looking for a cheap tablet for a kid, the performance issues might not mean much initially, until something goes wrong and you're the adult who has to troubleshoot what's wrong. Depending on how much more money your budget allows, you can get a better performing model with longer battery life , a better screen and sleeker design .

rca-voyager-tablet-8198-001.jpg

You couldn't pay me $50 to use this tablet for fun.

Unless you're a Kardashian or a Trump, you probably care about saving a buck or two when buying new electronics. Considering the best tablets cost about $600 , a simpler, cheaper alternative, especially one priced as low as $50, is a truly enticing idea.

The RCA Voyager III is a very modest tablet for a hard-to-beat price. Still, the Amazon Fire is a better piece of hardware and remains the best tablet to buy in the $50 range. However, if it's within your means, I strongly recommend trading up to the Amazon Fire HD 8 , which is normally $90, but currently on sale for $70. You get a ton more performance for a just a small bump in budget.

What's a Tablet PC?

Tablet PCs are compact, ultra-portable entertainment devices that let you read email, surf the Internet, read eBooks, view photos, play games, listen to music and watch video files. Most tablets are based on a smaller operating system, which allows you to purchase and download additional applications from supported stores. Tablet PCs do not have a CD/DVD drive and will not run Microsoft Windows or its applications. Tablet PCs function as a secondary device for casual entertainment purposes and are not meant to replace a computer. They are ideal for use around the home and on the go with WiFi or 3-4G mobile broadband connections (pay as you go, contract may be required for service).
