What does Mega Bangna Bangkok look like?

This site specializes in the manufacture and supply of home furnishings and accessories such as bedside tables and chairs, kitchen utensils, cups, vineyards, fresh flowers, dry flowers ..”All in One Roof” is Mega Bangna’s motto in many aspects, and it’s really effective. In addition to the large distribution centers like Home Pro, Big C, Robinson and IKEA, 450 other stores share the same oval building, which is certainly designed to make sure you keep strolling in a circle.

Although not as a luxurious commercial center as Siam Paragon or Central world but Mega Bangna is a paradise for young dudes. Because most of the goods are “durable, beautiful and easy to use” . In particular, there is a large ice rink, a cafeteria, a bowling alley with 24 lanes and a huge cinema complex. All those things are more than enough for you to spend all day to discover brand new experiences.

How to go to Mega Bangna by BTS?

Although the center is slightly located out of the suburbs, the route is smooth and convenient for people without cars. You can go to Mega Bangna from BTS (Skytrain), Udomsak. Then arrive at the bus stop and wait for the shuttle bus free of charge. Based on the outer appearance, we can identify the car thanks to its novel look and a noticeable electronic front board called Mega Bangna.

One of Mega Bangna’s “stars” is the IKEA area. Occupying about one-third of the central shopping zone, IKEA is an ideal spot for those who love home-made DIY from home appliances to beautiful decorations of all sizes. Displayed as an extremely large model house, you will be lost in the journey of capturing photogenic pictures for your own. Think twice before shopping on weekends because you have to queue in a long line.

The second attraction is the long series of cosmetics stores. From popular brands such as NYX, MAC, The Face Shop to well-known brands like YSL, Channel. Most of these shops can be found on the first floor of Mega Bangna. All you need is a lot of … tissues to wipe your hands after trying all sorts of pollen, nail polish, and cosmetics.

The third destination is the long line of clothing and accessories stores. Not as luxurious as the center city and not as dirt cheap as Bangkok Chatuchak market, but you will certainly find the item you like. If you choose, you can find beautiful and durable items at affordable prices.

Finally, if you decide to go to Mega Bangna, be lunch ready here. You can choose the food court on the upper floor or the restaurant adjacent to Mega Bangna. The staffs here understand English well so you do not have to worry about the language or else you can just simply point at the items you want.

Mega Bangna tips and tricks to discover

Unlike other commercial centers, Mega Bangna only has 2 floors, but the area is up to 35,000 square meters, so you will spend at least 1 day at Mega Bangna. Last time we visited this center it took nearly 8 hours just to shop and … walk around in the center. So, the first tip to bear in mind is to look at the signposts on each floor to see exactly where you are going to.

The second trick is to eat lunch in the food court. As usual, this place is cheaper and you only have to buy 1 card for a few hundred baht to eat (depending on your preference at which price to opt for). After purchasing the card, go to each store and simply choose the one you like.

The third and most important secret is to choose lightweight clothing and shoes. Especially women should have sandals or shoes for your own because you will have to walk all day on the Mega Bangna campus. Also, pay attention to the ubiquitous chairs in the center, they will be a great “savior” for your legs when coming here.

If you happen to be in transit at Suvarnabhumi International Airport within a day, this is where you can spend a few hours to kill past-time. Then you can easily approach here by taxi within 30 minutes, or catch the bus and BTS to return to the downtown area. One way or another, you should spend a day at Mega Bangna and make sure you have a good day “shopping till you drop”.

Where to Shop at Mega Bangna, Bangkok: It’s Enormous

Mega Bangna is one of Bangkok’s newest shopping malls and it’s one of the largest malls I’ve ever been to — anywhere. Over 115,000 square feet inside, with restaurants and cafes on the outside adding to the square footage, you can only imagine how long it will take you to walk around Mega Bangna, let alone find what you’re looking for.

That’s why knowing where to shop at Mega Bangna when you first get there will get you off on the right foot.

IKEA – This enormous Swedish furniture and home accessory store is one of the anchor stores at Mega Bangna. It’s also the reason the vast majority of Thais venture out to the mall at all as, with its two enormous floors crammed full of every item of furniture, kitchen and bathroom fixture and home accessory you could ever possibly want, you’ll never leave empty handed from here.

When you arrive at Mega Bangna, start your shopping at IKEA. That’s because, by mid-afternoon, it’s so ridiculously crowded you can hardly move. Get there early and that way you can take your time.

Also make sure you go to the membership area on the ground floor of the mall and sign up for an IKEA membership card before you start shopping. They’re free and, with it, you’ll be able to get a free catalogue plus any discount coupons they’re handing out. When I signed up I was given a coupon for 150 baht ($4.75) off my first purchase. Not bad for something that took me two minutes to do.

Tablet, Computer and Mobile Phone Stores – Mega Bangna has an excellent selection of stores selling tablets, computers and mobile phones. Most are located on the second floor of the mall, all in the same area. That means, if you’re looking for a good price on a table, computer or phone, you can easily move from one to another checking out prices and brands before you buy.

You’ll find everything from a Nokia shop to a True, Siam Chai to DTAC, Power Buy to Toshiba, Samsung and Apple and every tech store here sells the absolute newest models.

Sporting Goods Stores – Thais have become interested in sports in a big way in the last few years and you can tell that by the number of sporting goods stores at Mega Bangna. In fact, I’ve never seen as many anywhere else in Bangkok.

Sporting goods stores at Mega Bangna include The North Face, Adidas, Speedo, Reebok, Go Sports, Quicksilver and at least 15 other stores. Selling everything from tennis, golf and badminton equipment to running shoes, weight lifting equipment and gym clothes. If you’re looking for sports clothing and sports equipment, Mega Bangna could very well be the best mall in Bangkok to find it.

Jewelry Stores – It’s no secret Thais love jewelry and particularly gold so, in my 10 years of living in Thailand, I’m used to seeing a lot of jewelry shops in malls in Bangkok. I have to say, though, even I was surprised with just how many jewelry shops there are at Mega Bangna. At least 20, by my count.

Look for Jemsmanee, I Am Diamond, Enrich Gems, Deluxe Gems, Tokhang Gold Shop and NGG to name just a few. There you’ll find gold, watches, rings, bracelets, necklaces — everything you want — and ranging from inexpensive fashion items right up to extremely high-end pieces that will cost you a few months salary.

Sales Stalls and Promotional Sales Events – Finally, if you shop anywhere at all at Mega Bangna, you must shop at the sales stalls and promotional sales events set up in just about every spare foot of floor space all over the mall. You’ll find them in the atriums, in corridors and all over the ground floor area.

When I was last there a couple of weeks ago, there were promotional events and sales stalls set up selling everything from refrigerators, computers and big screen TVs to jewelry, clothing, brand name running shoes and children’s toys.

Prices at these stalls and promotional sales events are usually low, with items like flat screen monitors selling at 40 percent off their normal price, air conditioning units at 50 percent off and laptops and DVD players at 20 percent off. Just remember, these are all one-time events and stalls and are usually only there for a few days or a weekend.

That means, if you find something you like you must buy it then and there, as the same promotion won’t be available on your next visit.

Even though Mega Bangna is about a 20-30 minute drive from downtown Bangkok depending on traffic, with so many shops and sales events, not to mention IKEA, it’s well worth a trip out there particularly as you can easily spend the day. To get there, just grab any taxi as every taxi driver in Bangkok knows exactly where it is.

Mega Bangna is finally open

The wait for a new mall in Bangna is over as Mega Bangna officially opens its gigantic doors over the weekend (May 5). The vast space houses fashion boutiques from the likes of Dorothy Perkins, Charles & Keith, Uniqlo, Zara and Shoe Café. Apart from its long list of shops and eateries including Secret Garden, Wine Connection, MK and Scoozi, what got our attention is menswear label Meticulous’s new store. Called Meticulous Maison, the menswear shop has also added a bar to the whole experience: buy some tailored shirts, then have a drink to reward yourself. 39 Moo 6, Bangna Trat Rd. Km.8, 02-105-1000. Open daily 10am-10pm.

1.1.   Personal details, such as title, full name, gender, age, occupation, qualifications, job title, position, business type, company name, nationality, country of residence, date of birth, marital status, number of family members and children, ages of children, information on government-issued cards (e.g., national identification number, photograph of the national identification, information on the national identification, control number on the reverse side of the national identification (Laser ID), social security number, passport number, tax identification number, driver's license details or similar identifiers), immigration details such as arrival and departure date, signature, voice, voice record, photograph, facial features for recognition, CCTV records, work place, education, insurance details, license plate details, house registration, household income, salary and personal income;

1.2.   Contact details, such as postal address, delivery details, billing address, residential address, workplace address, address shown in the national identification card, telephone number, fax number, email address, LINE ID, Facebook account, Facebook ID, Google ID, Twitter ID, and other ID from social networking sites, your contact person's contact details (e.g., telephone number, contact data on any correspondence (e.g. written communication with you), and any other contact details you provided to us;

1.3.   Membership details, such as account details, member card number, reward points, member ID (e.g., The 1 member card number, The 1 ID, Siebel ID, member ID, customer ID), member type, customer type, member join/registration date and month, membership period, bank account and payment details, service and product applications (e.g. membership application, insurance application);

1.4.   Financial details , such as debit/credit card or bank information, credit/debit card number, credit card type, issuance/expiration date, cycle cut, account details, bank account details, prompt pay number payment details and records, your information regarding the risk profile for the business partner, credit rating and solvency, information in accordance with the declaration of suitability, suitability of   transaction and any other financial details.

1.5.   Transaction details, such as details about payment to and from you, payment date and/or time, payment amount, details about refund, refund amount, points, date and location of purchase, purchase/order number, appointment date for service, address/date and time for pick up or delivery, acknowledgement of receipt, recipient email’s signature, warranty details, complaints and claims, booking details, rental details, transaction, transaction history, location, transaction status, past sales transaction, status, transaction status, purchasing behaviour, and any other details of products and services you have purchased, including but not limited to any information incurring from using of products or services provided on our platform, such as e-pocket, digital asset, lending product, insurance product and the product related to wealth management, etc.;

1.6.   Technical details, such as Internet Protocol (IP) address, cookies, media access control (MAC) address, web beacon, log, device ID (such as international mobile equipment identifier (IMEI), electronic serial number (ESN), mobile equipment identifier (MEID) and serial number (SN)), device model and type, formats of software and hardware of the device when it is activated in the system, network, connection details, access details, single sign-on (SSO), login log, access time and location, time spent on the page, login data, GPS, latitude, longitude and time spent on each webpage, login information, applications downloaded on a communication devices,  search history, browsing details, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on devices you use to access the platform, including any other technical information arising from the use of our platform and systems;

1.7.   Behaviour details , such as information about your purchasing behavior and data supplied through the use of our products and services. 

1.8.   Profile details, such as your username and password, profile details and picture, purchases, historical orders, past orders, purchase history, items bought, item quantity, orders or product recalls made by you, orders via website, Cash On Delivery details, order ID, financial records, PIN, your interests, preferences, feedback and survey responses, satisfaction survey, social media engagement, participation details, loyalty programs, your use of discount codes and promotions, customer order description, customer service, attendance to trade exhibitions and events, trade exhibitions, litigation, testing and trials;

1.9.   Usage details, such as information on how you browse or use our websites, platform, application products and services, products in customer's cart, wish list record, remind me flash sale record, follow-shop record, and timestamp of last click and Q&A record.

We will only collect, use, or disclose sensitive data on the basis of your explicit consent or where permitted by law.

We only collect the information of children, quasi-incompetent persons, and incompetent persons where their parent or guardian has given their consent. We do not knowingly collect information from customers under the age of 20 without their parental consent when it is required, or from quasi-incompetent persons and incompetent persons without their legal guardian's consent. 8) To learn more about you : To learn more about the products and services you receive, and other products and services you may be interested in receiving, including profiling based on the processing of your Personal Data, for instance by looking at the types of products and services that you use from us, how you like to be contacted and so on.

9) Functioning of the sites, mobile application, and platform: To administer, operate, track, monitor, and manage the sites and platform to facilitate and ensure that they function properly, efficiently, and securely; to facilitate your experience on the sites and platform; improve layout, and content of the sites and platform.

(Central Online Branch 00041) is part of data ecosystem of Central Group which all collaborate and partially share customer services, products and systems including website-related platforms and systems, we may need to disclose or transfer your Personal Data to, or otherwise allow access to such Personal Data by other companies within Central Group's data ecosystem for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We may use other companies, agents, or contractors to perform services on behalf or to assist with the provision of products and services to you. 3.4. Social networking sites

We allow you to login on our sites and platforms without the need to fill out a form. If you log in using the social network login system, you explicitly authorize us to access and store public data on your social network accounts (e.g. Facebook, Google, Instagram), as well as other data mentioned during use of such social network login system. In addition, we may also communicate your email address to social networks in order to identify whether you are already a user of the concerned social network and in order to post personalized, relevant adverts on your social network account if appropriate.

We also partner with certain third parties that allow you to enroll in their services or participate in their promotions. For example, certain companies allow you to use your loyalty program number or online services login to receive or register for their services. We may transfer your Personal Data to other member associations, such as Thailand E-Payment Association (TEPA), Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), the Association of Confederation of Consumer Organization, Thailand (ACCOT), Foundation for consumers, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Thai E-Commerce Association, Thai Retailers Association, Thai Shopping Center Association and the Ratchaprasong Intersection Group.

Third parties as our assignee, in the event of any reorganization, merger, business transfer, whether in whole or in part, sale, purchase, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock or similar transaction; will comply with this Privacy Policy to respect your Personal Data.

How to Get to Ikea Bangna Bangkok ( 2024 Complete Guide)

Living for the past 4 years in Yangon, one of the things I miss and can not easily find in Yangon is  the furniture. Either is super expensive, bad quality or the design is so antique as if I have to live with my grand-grand parents! So Ikea Mega Bangna is the main option for furniture shopping for the expats living in Yangon.

No offence to my burmese friends but why should I want to by a chair who weighs more than 40 kg and has no comfort, utility and takes a lot of space from the living room?

It’s a bit difficult to send the items from Ikea Mega Bangna to Yangon and I have always tried to buy small items so it can fit my luggage.

Is there an IKEA in Thailand?

There are 2 IKEA stores in Thailanda. The closest one to Bangkok and easy access both by BTS & Taxi is Ikea Mega Bangna.

The second store opened in 2020 at it is located in the suburbs of Bangkok: IKEA Bang Yai: located next to Central Westgate in Nonthaburi province, features 50,278 square-meter retail space on three stories. This store is the biggest IKEA store in South East Asia. It can be reached directly with the Purple Line; takes longer than going to IKEA Mega Bangna but we will have more options for shopping for your house!

How to get to Ikea sukhumvit

If you’re taking the BTS Skytrain, simply hop off at Phrom Phong Station and then walk up to 5 minutes to the store which is located on the 4th floor of the EmSphere Mall .

For those driving, there is ample parking available on-site on the 5th floor but we don’t recommend coming by car as traffic is horrible in Bangkok.

The Ikea Mega Bangna is located inside biggest mall of Bangkok – Mega Bangna Super Mall on the outskirts of Bangkok and quite close to Suvarnabhumi Airport . The complete direction and address can be found here .

Up-and-coming Bang Na’s modern developments include the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre, which hosts consumer fairs and big-name concerts. The area’s large malls offer mid-range and luxury fashion brands, plus chain dining and family-friendly food courts . Street vendors sell noodles and tropical fruit, while ferries and local boats plying the Chao Phraya River stop at Bangna Pier.

The Ikea shop inside the Mega Bangna Super Mall is opened daily from 10am to 10pm in the evening. It’s popular during weekends and in the evening of the week. Best time to visit the Ikea Mega Bangna is either in the morning during mid-week.

How to get from downtown Bangkok (Sukhumvit Area) Ikea Mega Bangna

We have decided to go to IKEA quite late in the afternoon and since we had to go by BTS and then by shuttle bus to Mega Bangna we decided to take the Grab Taxi .

 The price of the ride cost us less than 300 thai baht (around 10$) for a 30 min rides from Asoke area to Ikea. It was not traffic and you paid an extra 50 bath to use the highway. The driver asked us if we want to use it and we said yes such to have more time to spend for shopping at the biggest mall in Thailand. If you decided to go by moto the price will be even lower, no more than 170-180 bath.

How do I get from BTS Bangna to IKEA?

2. by bts & free shuttle bus.

We decided for our second visit to Ikea Mega Bangna to use the BTS and then the free shuttle. Depending where you are staying in Bangkok you have to take the Sukhumvit Line (Green) to Samrong Direction (please note that this line is under construction and more station will be opened in the near future so the end name station might change).

From our place we took the BTS only 4 station ( 22 bath ) and then you get down at Udom Suk BTS Station and take EXIT No 5. It’s easy to be seen on which side to go down because the bus station which goes to Ikea Mega Bangna is close to a 7 Eleven.

Both IKEA as well as Meganbangna run free shuttle buses (large 48+ seat intra-city like buses) that operate from the BTS Udom Suk station (next the 7-Eleven) and terminate literally at the front doors of IKEA and Megabangna. I was surprised to see that the buses are very new (compared to the one in the city of Bangkok) and had WIFI (tried to connect but did not work) and even I made to stay on 2 seats even if more than 25 people went on the bus)

The  Meganabgna buses are in an all white design are are free of charge. Don’t need to pay even if you don’t buy anything from the shops or IKEA.

Ikea Mega Bangna Shuttle Bus – Schedule

The Shuttle Buses from Ikea Mega Bangna runs every 15 or 25 minutes depending on the hour of the day. Schedules are subject to change due to traffic condition and we know that Bangkok has one of the worse traffic in the  world.

The first bus depart at 8am in the morning and the latest one departs IKEA at 11pm in the evening. So if can even watch a movie and go back to the city and catch as well the latest BTS to your hotel in Bangkok.

Where to Eat at Ikea Mega Bangna

First time we have tried the food court in the Mega Mall. It was not very crowded and usually it’s a sign the food is not very good. But we decided to give it a try. Even if there are a few restaurants we hardly find something we liked. I decided to go with some Thai Noodle and it was not the best choose ; food was not even close to the downtown food or even other food courts I tried as the one in Terminal 21.

Second time we had time and decided to go and eat to Ikea. We pick the usually items which are famous for IKEA restaurant – the meatballs and the pork ribs. We took the option with free flow of juice (Peps) as well.

Taste was OK but not compared with the one’s I had in Europe.
