The Ultimate Travel Playlist: 100 Best Travel Songs (with Lyrics and Videos)
Katie Hammel
July 18, 2023
10 min read
Music has the power to transport us, change our moods, and conjure memories. And, for many travelers, music is closely linked to travel. It can helps us understand the people and culture of a place, break down language barriers, and sear certain moments into our memories forever.
With help from members of our Travel Community and Going staff, we've created the ultimate travel playlist of 100 travel songs. Some reference specific places, others showcase the musical talent of a specific country, and others simply celebrate the joy of exploration.
Here, in no particular order, are 100 of our favorite travel songs.
56 songs that reference specific places in the title or lyrics
Sure, some of these songs, such Paris by the Chainsmokers or Toto’s Africa , actually have little to do with the specific place; it’s just used as the title or the setting for the story. But others not only reference a country or city, they also evoke a specific sense of that particular place or tell a story about that destination.
For example, in Marrakech Express , Crosby, Stills & Nash recount scenes from a train ride Nash actually took in 1966. In London Calling , the Clash sing about the social issues facing London in the late 70s. In Walking in Memphis , Marc Cohn croons about his experience wandering the city. And Simon & Garfunkel's America was inspired by a road trip that Paul Simon took with his girlfriend.
Here are some of our favorite songs that mention a specific city or country, and a snippet of the lyrics.
Listen when: you're on a $388 flight to Vienna, or a $671 flight to Johannesburg, or a $353 flight to Paris, or...

1. The House of the Rising Sun – The Animals
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun,
And it’s been the ruin of many young poor boys.
And god, I know I’m one.
2. The Passenger – Iggy Popp
I am the passenger
I stay under glass
I look through my window so bright
I see the stars come out tonight
I see the bright and hollow sky
Over the city’s ripped backsides
And everything looks good tonight
3. This Is The Life – Amy Macdonald
Oh the wind whistles down
The cold dark street tonight
And the people they were dancing to the music vibe
And the boys chase the girls with the curls in their hair
While the shy tormented youth sit way over there
And the songs they get louder
Each one better than before
4. The Travel Song – Pilate
The road seen beneath the van’s headlights
It’s cold, so cold, cold enough to feel your sigh
My face up against the window now
Don’t you know it’s cold outside?
Pick up your life as I pass by
Can’t you see I’m cold inside

The whole world is moving and I’m standing still
7. Let’s See How Far We’ve Come – Matchbox Twenty
I’m wakin’ up at the start of the end of the world
But it’s feeling just like every other morning before
Now I wonder what my life is gonna mean if it’s gone
The cars are moving like a half a mile an hour and I
Started staring at the passengers and waving goodbye
Can you tell me what was ever really special about me all this time?
8. Summer Cat – Billie the Vision & the Dancers
I wore a T-shirt and my worn out hat.
Abandoned as a summer cat.
And as I stood there as a broken hearted
I realized you got the car keys still.
So I broke into my own old car.
I fell asleep on the passenger seat.
I dreamed of summer with you and you whispered in my ear:
Tonight tonight tonight tonight
I wanna be with you Tonight tonight tonight tonight
I wanna be with you tonight
Why can’t you leave me tomorrow instead?

10. A Pocket Full Of Shells – Mat McHugh
Followed a trail of poison crumbs. We got lost pretending, undone. Then our blood fell from the clouds, the wind it screamed, the sea it howled.
And every cold, dry morning,
crows sing of how there’s ice forming on the lake.
Oh yes somebody called me, said they saw you.
Said you were looking older but just the same.
When are you coming home?
It must be freezing out today…
11. Africa – Toto
I hear the drums echoing tonight But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation She’s coming in, 12:30 flight The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation I stopped an old man along the way Hoping to find some old forgotten words or ancient melodies He turned to me as if to say, “Hurry boy, it’s waiting there for you”
12. Jon Bon Jovi – It’s my Life

I've been traveling with the band since 1980 and this was the easiest trip ever for me. I simply had to do nothing but conduct the band! It's hard to believe it's taken me this long to get it right, slow learner! The students and parents have had nothing to say but wonderful things…
Nan Moore Director of Bands
We received numerous positive comments from students and parents about how well-organized the entire experience had been. And, fellow teachers and administrators told them how the students couldn’t stop talking about the trip once they were back in school!
David Elliott Director of Bands
Music Travel Consultants are the very best in the business when it comes to traveling with your group. Directors, parents and all adults are treated like royalty, but more important, each trip provides the very best experience for the students that is both educational and memorable. And what makes them so successful...they are run by educators and parents. You cannot find a better, more professional travel company for your music program.
Matt Harloff Director of Bands Avon HS, Director of Indoor Winds
It’s rare anymore, but every once in a while, I contact a business that exceeds my expectations, like Music Travel Consultants. Our trip was just amazing. Music Travel outdid itself in every aspect. The attention to detail, and the wisdom to read the group, be flexible and think out of the box was refreshing. The students, chaperones, parents, and myself were blown away with the sights and unforgettable experiences every day. We have memories from this trip that we will cherish for decades. As a Music Director, I appreciate that Music Travel Consultants knows exactly what I need during every moment of the trip, provides it, and makes the trip a success.
Bradley Gardner Director of Choral Music, Franklin Central HS
If you are considering traveling with your music ensemble, I highly recommend using Music Travel Consultants. The customer service is outstanding! The company is the epitome of high class professionalism. I feel like I am on vacation when I travel with Music Travel Consultants.
Luke Aylsworth Director of Bands
The Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade has always been a great experience for our students. To tour both Philadelphia and New York City in the same trip is a wonderful option! I have done this trip four times in my professional career and ALWAYS with Music Travel Consultants. There is no better travel company!
Chris Taylor Director of Bands, Pendleton Heights HS
When the Blue Springs Golden Regiment attends a Bands of America event, Music Travel Consultants is our first call. Few companies understand the many challenges and “ins and outs” that encompass a BOA show. MTC takes the stress of travel and scheduling away so the staff can focus on teaching music!
Dr. Tim Allshouse Director of Bands
Traveling in Italy is to witness its great treasures, but to perform in Italy is to experience the true heart of the country and its people. Our concert in Florence was in a beautiful medieval church, just off the main square, and we played for a packed house that spilled into the orchestra!
Grady Emmert Florence International Music Festival participant
When it comes to traveling with my group, I trust the folks over at MTC implicitly! Our parents and students are always impressed with the level of detail that goes in to the planning of our trips. There is simply none better.
Scotty Walker NBA Blue Ribbon National HS Award of Excellence Recipient
I have used Music Travel Consultants for many years with my groups at West Ranch HS and simply put, they're the best! From start to finish Music Travel Consultants takes care of ALL the details in a friendly, professional and quick manner. They make the job of going on tour with an ensemble easy!
Jason A. Marshall Director West Ranch HS
For anyone who is looking for the ultimate travel organization, go with Music Travel Consultants. They have taken care of our children, the chaperones, all of our faculty and staff. They have stepped up to the plate, non-stop, during our entire experience here in California for the Tournament of Roses Parade. If you want the ultimate in professionalism and care for your family and students, go with Music Travel Consultants.
Camilla M. Stasa Director of Participant Relations and Special Projects, MFA/BOA
I have been using Music Travel Consultants since 2004 and have always been pleased with their organization, professionalism and their ‘can do’ attitude. In 2007 while at BOA Grand Nationals our charter jet broke down just before we were to load to fly home Saturday night. MTC was able to get all 287 of us in a hotel within two hours and set up flights for us the next day. I can’t imagine another agency being able to do that so MTC will always take my group to Indiana!
Mark Stone Director Emeritus, Ayala HS
Orlando 2018 was a wonderful experience for our students, ensembles, and adult travelers! The tour was designed to provide opportunities for each of the four facets of the music department, the group as a whole, and unique opportunities that would set this trip apart. Our Orlando trip, prepared and presented by Music Travel Consultants, was well organized, creative, and presented in person. MTC's online portal for registeration, payments, and organization. Working with the trip details of rooms, bus lists, payments, and trip documents was a tremendous organizational tool and time saver as a director. The team at Music Travel Consultants delivered an outstanding tour of Disney performances and clinic opportunities for our students. The students enjoyed fun at many of the Disney Parks, great accommodations at Flamingo Crossings, and special events including a final ride on Soarin' and the private party at Test Track. All were a hit and success with the students! Most importantly, the knowledge, expertise, and flexibility of the MTC staff in adjusting meal stops and schedules to accommodate the group made the trip. Thank you to our MTC Orlando Team and everyone at Music Travel Consultants!
Thad Driskell Director of Bands, Jefferson HS
Chris Forsythe and the MTC team were super in dealing with the postponement of the trip due to the pandemic. The staff's professionalism and accessibility was outstanding as they worked with the numerous questions, concerns, itinerary adjustments and personalities of adult travelers. Chris was always concerned with our safety, happiness in the experiences and comfort for both performances and sight-seeing adventures. Mirjam, our guide, was phenomenal in taking charge, accommodating requests and managing needy travelers, all while loving on us as individuals and as a group. She was funny, direct, strong, compassionate and her heart made us fall in love with her as a person. Tonya and the charter bus were great as well. She kept the coach clean, drove on tiny streets and was flexible with her schedule and time to help us as visitors to her country/city. The performance venues and contacts were unbelievable. Each were unique, friendly and acoustically and musically a blessing to perform in. The participation in the mass at the Basilica de Estrella was a special addition to the concert offerings. The large crowds were welcoming and seemed to love our repertoire. The overall tour way exceeded my expectations. The ENTIRE ensemble, guest travelers and staff were nothing but pleased by our trip and tour experience. - Thanks to all involved.
Scott Bradford Artistic Director, Castlewood Singers
Our experience with Music Travel Consultants was the best travel experience we have had. Music Travel Consultants took care of every detail. The trip was a trip of a lifetime for my students and chaperones. The attention to detail and efficiency was amazing. Everything from the kick-off meeting, attention to our wants and needs, customizing our itinerary, accounting, billing, and especially the customer care was top notch. I can’t wait to take my next MTC trip!
Brian Saylor Director of Choral Music at Bismarck HS
The staff members at MTC are organized, professional, and courteous. They understand the logistical necessities when traveling with large groups of students and their customer service is SECOND TO NONE.
Brent W. Biskup Director of Bands, Flower Mound HS
As director of bands at Stephen F. Austin HS, Texas, I took groups to Carnegie Hall, Midwest Clinic and two Bands of America Grand National educational performance trips. Our trip with Music Travel Consultants was, without question, the best organized and most memorable in my 21 years of teaching. Amazing...
Dean Westman Orchestra Director, Avon HS 3-Time BOA Grand National Champion
In my forty years of teaching high school band I have used three different music travel companies. In my experience, I have found the Music Travel Consultants to be the most professional, most accommodating, and enjoyable company to work with when you are traveling with a large group of students and parents. They are my go to company whenever we begin planning a band trip. I highly recommend this outstanding company.
Bill Stultz Director of Bands, Columbus North HS
Our trip was well received by the staff, students and parents. It was very organized, and it was obvious that a considerable amount of thought was put into the trip. Excellent Job! The Music Travel staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and I thought it was great that they were on the bus with us from the moment we took off until we arrived back home. I would definitely recommend Music Travel to another traveling group. Thanks for an awesome trip!
Chad Allard Associate Director of Bands, Jefferson HS
Planning a trip through Music Travel Consultants is the best possible option, period. Their knowledge of the music world is beyond helpful when planning and running logistics. They are easy to work with, flexible and handle their business. The no-hassel trip across the country allowed me and my staff to focus on the teaching and making sure the kids were ready to perform.
Joe Avery Director, Red Wave Indoor
The staff of Music Travel Consultants anticipated our every need. Our Disney trip and performance was a wonderful and stress-free experience for the students, parents, and staff. We plan on working with Music Travel Consultants for our next trip.
Tim Kosch Director of Bands, Franklin Community HS
Music Travel Consultants is fantastic. They do such great work for us and make everything so simple. We get to our place, we know exactly where to be, and what time to be there. They do fantastic work. Love Music Travel Consultants.
Josh Scott Round Rock HS
WGI Sport of the Arts is proud to call Music Travel Consultants our Preferred Travel Partner! Working with the MTC staff is a joy. They are friendly, extremely knowledgeable, timely, but most importantly, they genuinely care that students have unforgettable experiences!
Bart Woodley Director of Operations and Sponsor Relations WGI Sport of the Arts
Music Travel Consultants is the only choice for a World-Class experience in group travel. My Travel Designer Chris Forsythe and Tour Director Paige Carter made sure that every detail of booking, organizing and taking a large group out of state went super-smooth. I have nothing but rave reviews for this incredible company. The Rouse Band program is a MTC customer for life!
Jason Robb Rouse HS, Director of Bands
MTC was the first travel company I worked with to organize our trip to WGI championships and it will be the only one I will continue to use because of their professionalism and personable customer experience. The knowledgeable staff provided me with insights that helped our ensemble have many rewarding trips that left lasting impressions on all of our students. The guide that joined us have always been warm, welcoming, and extremely accommodating for all of our ensemble’s needs. Thank you to all of the team members that assisted us throughout our journey!
Scott K. Tanaka Director of Percussion, San Marino HS
The attention to details, combined with the technology of cutting-edge travel tools, and topped off with their incredible and caring staff, has long made MTC one of the VERY BEST choices for student music travel in the country. They have always been a national “go to” with bands and orchestras, and for good reason. Now with the addition of Heart of America (HOA) and other upcoming choir events to their roster, MTC has positioned themselves not only as the best in the industry for instrumental ensembles, but for choral ensembles as well. As the creator and (former) owner of Heart of America, I was absolutely thrilled and knew immediately upon meeting Mark and Ryan that HOA would not only survive, but THRIVE with the leadership, vision, technology and staff that MTC brings to the table.
Chad Alexander Heart of America
Music Travel Consultants is the first choice for the PHHS Choral Department! They consistently display great communication, offer wonderful performance opportunities and genuinely care for the students and parents that travel with them. MTC has made it a breeze to take performance trips full of educational opportunities.
Erin Archer Choral Director, Pendleton Heights HS
Our experience with Music Travel Consultants has always been world class! Every detail is planned and accounted for in a professional manner. This allows our students and families to enjoy the experience and focus on delivering excellent performances when we travel. I would highly recommend MTC to any ensemble considering travel!
Alex Rector Director of Bands, Hardin Valley Academy Band
Taking the band to Atlanta for the Peach Bowl was a once in a lifetime experience and one that the students will remember for the rest of their lives. Performing our halftime show in Mercedes-Benz stadium for the Field Competition, as well as marching the parade and performing in the mass band for the bowl game, was incredibly exciting and something that I will never forget. Using Music Travel to put this trip together was the best decision that we could have made. For every major trip, from here on out, we will be in contact with Emily and Music Travel Consultants to make it happen.
Rodney Brown West HS, Director of Bands
The entire Music Travel Consultants Team is to be commended for an absolutely wonderful experience for my students. From our initial parent meeting to the last handshake after boarding the bus to go home, Music Travel Consultants worked hard to make our students’ experience the best it could be. MTC’s easy accessibility proved to be invaluable, and throughout the planning process MTC provided guidance, offered helpful suggestions, and made the daunting task of putting a trip like this together much less intimidating. I would recommend Music Travel Consultants to anyone interested in traveling with their school music groups, and I wish them nothing but continued success in the future!
Gregg Norris Band Director, Sidney Senior HS
We were so glad to use Music Travel for our first trip out of state to WGI in California. Our guide was so very helpful and took a ton of pressure off of me during the trip. Not having to deal with bus transportation, where to go for meals and checking in and out of hotels and airports was invaluable to me since I was already in charge of about 30 people. I wouldn't hesitate to use Music Travel again! Thank you for all the help, organization and attention to details!
René Ormae-Jarmer KINGSMEN THUNDER Drum Line and Winter Indoor Percussion, Rex Putnam HS
With this our first time competing at Grand Nationals I wanted the students, staff, and parents to have a world class experience and MTC did that for us. They handled every detail for us each step of the way. If anyone is thinking of traveling you must consider MTC; you won’t regret it.
Rickey Langdale Director of Bands, Easley HS
When you book your educational, performance trips through Music Travel Consultants you receive an expert agent to assist you with every step along the way. They will work tirelessly to accommodate the vision and purpose of the trip, manage all logistics and will travel with you to assure things run smoothly. I always get impeccable costumer service! I have traveled to Hawaii, California, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Tennessee and Kansas and Florida with them. MTC is the only company I trust when it comes to school travel.
Deana Broge Choir Director, Zionsville HS
Valley Christian’s experience teaming with Music Travel Consultants has been nothing short of spectacular. MTC has proven to be an invaluable partner in the planning and execution of our educational travel experiences. Their staff is incredibly knowledgeable and are dedicated to providing the absolute best customer service each step of the way. Quite simply…they get it!
Troy Gunter Vice President/Director, Conservatory of the Arts
MTC will be my only call when planning student travel in the future. Customer service is one of their greatest attributes. They have gotten our groups out of many travel jams. I don’t know how they do it but, holding a plane at the gate for an hour and a half for our students to make their connection on one trip, to rebooking with a new charter airline only days before takeoff are some amazing things this great group of professionals can do. Their tour directors become someone on our team who meet or exceed the standard of excellence I have within my own band program. I know I don’t need to worry about the details because MTC ensures everything is taken care of.
David Lesser Director of Bands, Clovis North HS
It was easy to work with Emily to plan our trip. When she visited the school for parent meetings, she was well spoken and presented Music Travel and the trip well. The tour directors were great. Very helpful and professional. We enjoyed our trip and will use Music Travel again for future tours.
Krista Roorbach Heritage Christian School
I can’t begin to explain how refreshing it is, as a band director who has to worry about every last detail, to not have to be concerned with these logistics. We appreciate your staff on every level: design, implementation, working with some of our parents, problem solving, etc. To top it off, you present yourselves to the band each and every day with such positivity and energy. We truly are left to believe that we are the only band you’ve ever worked with! Thank you for the detail and the care – it is not unnoticed! MTC is the real deal
Brian Phillips Director of Bands, Rockford HS (MI)
MTC has great people. They take care of the details so we can focus on our students, the performances and helping to make memorable experiences for our groups.
Chris Kaflik Band Director, Brownsburg HS

12 Inspiring Travel Challenges (For Each Month of the Year)
Are you up for a travel challenge? How about twelve?
In this article, you’ll find 12 inspiring travel challenges , one for each month of the year.
So, let’s play a game:
Let’s make travel a bit more interesting than just checking attractions off a bucket list. And let’s concentrate on the experiences and the lessons learned, not the places we see when we travel.
If you’re ready to take your travels to the next level, this is my suggested travel challenges list for you.
Let’s conquer!
1. January: Riding the Last Narrow-Gauge Train in Bulgaria
📝 Travel Challenge Description
To start the travel challenges list, I have an unusual train journey for you.
You see, narrow-gauge trains are a rare species. The 760-mm (30-in) wide rails aren’t used much anymore.
In Bulgaria, there’s just one line left, which runs on narrow rails. This is the track from Septemvri to Dobrinishte. It cuts through the magical Rhodope Mountains and the proud Pirin Mountain.
📍 Where to Go for this Travel Challenge
The most picturesque and awe-inspiring section of the journey is between the SPA Capital of the Balkans, Velingrad , and the highest train station on the Balkans, Avramovo.
Riding the narrow-gauge train is like time-machine travel .
The line was constructed between the 1920s and the 1940s. It seems like time has stopped in the villages whose train stations you pass. The ride is the most authentic glimpse into the lives of the people from the surrounding mountains.
✅ How to Conquer This Travel Challenge
Buy your ticket at Velingrad Central train station. It costs BGN2.60 (€1.30 / $1.50). You can also catch the train at Velingrad-South train station. There’s no office at this station, so you need to buy the ticket on the train.
After one hour, several 8-shaped serpentines, and tens of tunnels, the train will arrive in Avramovo. The ride back leaves in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from Velingrad to Avramovo and ride the train just in one direction.
The narrow-gauge train runs several times a day. You can check the current timetable at any of the train stations.
📆 Why You Should Do it in January
In January, winter is in its peak. The season’s fluffy, white duvet covers the mountains and they look surreal.
The cold weather also adds an extra level of difficulty to your travel challenge. Getting your hiney a bit cold is a challenge you’re up to, right?
2. February: Walking Trunk in Hand With an Elephant Lady in South Africa
I couldn’t create a travel challenges list and skip an animal encounter. So, here we go:
Walking “trunk in hand” is the alternative to walking hand in hand with your buddy. Only in this travel challenge, your buddy is an elephant lady. She puts her trunk in your hand and the two of you go for a walk.
The Elephant Sanctuary near Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route is home to rescued elephants. You should put it on your South Africa itinerary !
These South African animals were saved either from illegal private zoos or from the wild. They have been mistreated or suffered an injury. Into the wild, they can’t make it on their own. In the sanctuary, they learn to live with each other and to take care of themselves.
For example, the lady on the photo above lost the tip of her trunk. This meant that she would starve to death as her trunk serves as a multi-purpose tool.
One of the functions of her trunk is to pick up food and place it in her mouth. With her severed trunk, she was unable to do so. In the sanctuary, she learned how to suck in objects instead of picking them up. Now, she’s able to feed without extra help.
One thing I noticed in the sanctuary is this:
People are afraid of elephants. Well, they should be! The giant mammals have unpredictable behaviour. They might vandalise an entire forest just for the fun of it.
Standing near a one-tonne-heavy bully with the size of a small house is indeed scary. However, if you overcome your fear, you’ll end up with one of the most amazing travel experiences of your life!
Simply hold your hand with the palm facing up and your elephant friend will place her trunk in it. Then, you’ll start walking and she’ll follow you. It sounds so simple, but it’s the most extraordinary experience on this travel challenges list.
📆 Why You Should Do it in February
February is the shoulder season in South Africa. There aren’t many tourists around and you wouldn’t have to wait long in line until your turn to walk trunk in hand with your new elephant friend comes.
3. March: Exploring a Snapshot of the Past in Italy
Next on the travel challenges list, we have ancient ruins and a mighty volcano. But that’s not all.
Usually, when you visit ancient ruins, you see what time has done to a city. Stones have fallen down, walls have been demolished, and you can’t fully imagine the grandeur of the place.
But when you visit Pompeii , you’ll notice that it wasn’t time that destroyed the city.
It was one single act of violence from nature – the eruption of the nearby Vesuvius Volcano – which wiped off all living creatures from the city.
In a matter of seconds, life in Pompeii ceased to exist. However, the buildings, the streets, and the interiors survived the disaster. Buried under a thick layer of ashes, the city of Pompeii kept most of its original appearance from the 1 st century AD. Once archaeologists removed the ashes, they uncovered an almost untouched “snapshot of the past”.
The archaeological site of Pompeii lies near Naples, Italy. You can reach it easily by train, car, or bus.
You can admire the threatening sight of the active volcano from a distance or visit it after you’ve seen what it was capable of doing.
Wear sturdy shoes if you decide to visit Pompeii. The cobble-stoned streets and the ruins of the city have uneven surfaces.
Moreover, if you also climb Vesuvius, you need to do a short but steep hike up the side of the volcano. The trail is covered in slippery stones and volcano ashes.
📆 Why You Should Do it in March
As you might imagine, Italy receive hordes of tourists each year.
Luckily, the weather in March is still a bit cold for most travelers who want to spend a day outside, roaming the ruins of an ancient city. This is your chance to walk alone the back alleys of Pompeii.
4. April: Discovering Unexpected Attractions in Paris
Let’s mix things up. Why not add one of the most visited city in the world on the travel challenges list.
You might be wondering already, what unexpected attractions can Paris possibly hide?
Surprisingly, even the most popular attractions keep unexpected secrets. For example, when you hear the Louvre, in your head certainly pops up the image of Mona Lisa.
But if you check the map of Louvre’s collections, you’ll discover that there are tonnes of equally exciting artefacts to explore in the largest museum in the world.
So, where can you find unusual things to do in Paris ? You see, even the most famous museums hide surprising treasures.
Here’s a short but sexy list to inspire your search for crazy things to do in Paris:
- The Louvre : Find peculiar collections and marvel at the interior of the former palace.
- Graveyards : Pay respect to some of the greatest talents of the past in the Parisian cemeteries.
- The Eiffel Tower : Spy on Gustave Eiffel’s secret private apartment.
- Parks : Play with sailboats in the royal ponds.
- Cabarets : Discover the best of the Parisian nightlife.
My best advice for Paris is to limit your stay to exactly three days.
Why only 3 days in Paris , when there’s so much to see and do in the French capital?
Because if you stay longer, you’ll start seeing the imperfections of the large city with hordes of tourists even in low season. Because if you stay longer, you’ll push yourself to see more than your mind can take and walk further than your feet can carry you.
Moreover, because if you stay longer, you might not want to return. And Paris is not a place to visit just once in your lifetime and never return to!
📆 Why You Should Do it in April
To avoid at least some of the tourist crowds, come in low season. Autumn and early spring is the best time.
In April, the temperatures are pleasant for long strolls along the Seine River. The trees are turning green and the parks look lovely.
5. May: Finding Secluded Paradise in the Dominican Republic
Despite being best-known as an all-inclusive destination, the Dominican Republic still hides countless secluded beaches and unexplored jungles.
For the next item on the travel challenges list, we’re going to the Caribbean island.
You can find seclusion on empty Dominican beaches .
You can descend into the depths of the Earth in one of the largest limestone caves in the area.
Or you can explore the last secret gem of the Caribbean, Samana Peninsula .
The first step is to get away from all-inclusive resorts. Don’t be afraid to explore the vibrant Dominican Republic and search for its hidden gems. Be prepared and open-minded and you’ll end up with wonderful memories.
Ready for an adventure? Then, read these Dominican Republic travel tips to learn how to best explore safe and hassle-free.
📆 Why You Should Do it in May
You want to avoid visiting the island republic during the hurricane season. During the rest of the year, the weather is great for sunbathing and exploring the tropical paradise.
The months from December to April are the best time to visit the Dominican Republic. That’s why my recommendation is to pick May – shortly after the crowds have left – for your adventure in the tropical paradise.
6. June: Conquering Europe’s Deepest Canyon on a Raft
In the mountains of Bosnia and Herzegovina, runs the Tara River.
Known as the Colorado of the Balkans, the river has carved a fascinating canyon. It’s deeper than any other in Europe. For comparison, the Grand Canyon is only slightly superior to this one.
Between the Bosnian town of Foca and the border with Montenegro, you can raise your adrenaline in a surreal white-water rafting adventure in the deepest European canyon.
The turquoise waters of the Tara River canyon invite you to jump right in. You should be careful, though. The crystal waters might seem shallow, but the river between 2 and 4 m (6.56 ft. and 13.12 ft.) deep!
Take part in a rafting adventure, organized by the skilful tour companies in the area. You can find small camps at the riverbanks along the road.
📆 Why You Should Do it in June
The neoprene suits provided by the rafting companies protect you from the refreshing waters of the river. However, once you come on shore, you need to shower and dry yourself.
Trust me, it’s not pleasant to do so when the temperatures are below 10°C (50°F). However, in the peak of summer, you risk being eaten alive by mosquitoes.
This leaves June as the perfect month to indulge in this unforgettable rafting adventure.
7. July: Dancing the Night Away at the Black Sea Coast
The next one on the travel challenges list is for the most hard-core and open-minded travellers.
You see, Bulgarian folk dances are also known as the Eighth Miracle . That’s how fascinating line dancing in Bulgaria is! And once you’ve tried it and you’ve mastered the steps, you won’t stop until you can no longer stand on your feet.
Visit the small villages at the Northern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast . Stay at an authentic, rustic guesthouse and make friends with the other visitors.
There are just three easy steps to conquering this travel challenge:
- Stay at a traditional guesthouse .
- Make friends with everyone around you.
- Join the dances when the music starts.
📆 Why You Should Do it in July
For this travel challenge, I recommend July for two reasons:
- It is summer and you can combine the dances with suntanning at some of the best Bulgarian beaches or enjoy sea kayaking around the rugged cliffs.
- If you arrive on the last day of June, you can witness the traditional July Morning festivities. They are a joyful celebration of new beginnings and positive thinking.
8. August: Surviving and Making Friends at The Roof of the World
The Pamir Mountains in Central Asia, aka The Roof of the World , is a place of extremes.
Nothing grows on this Alpine desert at the altitudes of over 4,000 m (13,000 ft.). Inaccessible peaks rise twice as high. Streams might freeze even in mid-August. In winter, the temperatures might drop lower than in Siberia and Alaska.
However, despite the harsh living conditions and possible language barriers, you meet some of the friendliest and kindest people in the world.
They invite you to their homes, share the little food they have, and most importantly tell you about their lives, dreams, and desires. You make friends for life and experience diverse cultures, which you can’t meet anywhere else on the planet.
To conquer the next item on the travel challenges list, go to the Pamirs . You’ll need to reach the ex-Soviet republics of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Getting to their capital cities is quite convenient. For Kyrgyzstan, most travellers don’t need visas. For Tajikistan, you can apply for an e-visa . When visiting the Pamirs, don’t forget to request a GBAO permit as well.
You can drive, cycle, or even hitchhike the Pamir Highway . Take the road from Dushanbe (the Tajik capital) to Osh (the second-largest city in Kyrgyzstan) or vice versa. You’ll be most flexible and safe with a guide and a driver.
Governments – past and present – have long forgotten the area in the two neighbouring ex-Soviet republics. The few roads, which were once paved, have more potholes than asphalt left.
The so-called Pamir Highway can hardly qualify as a speedway in any modern country. Instead, dusty roads take you to small villages without running water and electricity.
But if you’re up for a life-changing travel experience, this is your destination! Pack light and warm, take your biggest smile and the friendliest attitude you’ve got, and you’ll end up with unbelievable stories to tell your grandchildren.
📆 Why You Should Do it in August
August is the driest month of the year in the Pamir Mountains.
This is extremely important because even a few raindrops can cause landslides and roadblocks, preventing you from having an adventure of a lifetime.
9. September: Greeting the Sun over the Rock Forest Meteora
Have you ever visited a place, which exceeded the boundaries of your imagination? For me, one such place was the Rock Forest of Meteora, Greece .
The high-rising boulders, topped with levitating monasteries, form an incredible image. Nature and the human spirit have created scenery like no other.
Perched atop the cliffs, the Meteora Monasteries near Kalambaka in Central Greece welcome visitors all year round.
Follow the 7-km (4.3-mi) long scenic road to admire the surreal views of the rocks and the monasteries around you.
There are just four steps to conquering this unforgettable travel challenge:
- Get up early. Use an app or ask the locals about the time of the sunrise. Dress warm, even in summer. The wind can be fierce. After all, it carved these mesmerising rock formations.
- Drive to the Meteora Rocks. Try to arrive about half an hour before dawn. There are several designated areas where you can position yourself and meet the new day.
- Greet the first sunrays. As they hit the rocks, their reflections paint the cliffs in gentle pink colours.
- Move on to the Great Meteoron Monastery. Listen to the sound of the bells calling for prayer.
📆 Why You Should Do it in September
The temperatures at the end of the European summer are more pleasant than at its zenith. However, they’re still quite high – and you need them to be over 20°C (68°F).
That’s because the winds, which have shaped the Meteora Rock Formations, still blow harshly. After all, if you get up in the middle of the night to greet the sun, you’d want to feel at least some comfort.
10. October: Tasting Exquisite Slow-Food Delicacies in Ireland
Next on the travel challenges list is a culinary experience.
You know how we’ve become obsessed with time and getting things done quickly? Even when we eat, most of us prefer the so-called “fast food” to save some extra minutes.
However, that’s not only unhealthy but it’s unpleasant and boring. Food should be devoured slowly, each bite should be enjoyed, and each aftertaste should be appreciated.
That’s what the slow food culture is all about. Taking time to make a perfect dish and then savouring each moment while devouring it.
The Beara Peninsula in Ireland, albeit not as famous as other regions of the island, is home to local producers who keep ancient recipes. They take the time and effort to produce delicacies, which will make your palate cry with joy.
These are some of the places where you can devour Beara’s exquisite treats:
- The award-winning seafood chowder at the Beara Coast Hotel .
- The Beara Ocean gin with water from the Atlantic Ocean at the Beara Distillery .
- The Irish farmhouse raw-milk cheese at the Milleens Cheese .
- Locally farmed mussels at the Kush Shellfish Restaurant .
📆 Why You Should Do it in October
There’s something magical about the countless shades of green in Ireland. Combined with the radiant autumn foliage of the trees in October, you’ll experience more colours than your eyes can distinguish.
Check also this 7 days Ireland road trip itinerary to make sure you don’t miss the most magical spots on the Emerald Island .
11. November: Chasing the Last Summer Days on the Best Cyprus Beaches
Cyprus has the longest summer season in Europe. The island is also home to ancient ruins, stunning beaches, and incredible sunsets.
Arm yourself with your best camera and explore the beaches waiting for the perfect sunset.
The Cypriot coastline is predominantly rocky with rugged cliffs rising up like scary guardians. The Mediterranean Sea and the harsh winds have sculptured jaw-dropping arcs and bottomless caves.
Nevertheless, if you know where to search, you’ll find amazing beaches to work on your tan as well.
To check this item off your travel challenges list, follow these steps:
- Check the map and visit as many of the numerous Cyprus beaches as possible.
- Suntan and stock on vitamin D whenever the temperatures allow it.
- Explore the countless ancient ruins on the Mediterranean island when not on the beach.
📆 Why You Should Do it in November
As with other popular destinations, it’s key to visit Cyprus when the crowds have already left. Moreover, you should do it before winter. The winds, which have shaped the rugged coastline, are fierce.
Hence, November is your last chance before spring to sunbathe or even swim anywhere in Europe. Bring your swim trunks and a quick-drying tower to conquer this travel challenge.
12. December: Uncovering the True Spirit of Christmas
In my humble opinion, the true spirit of Christmas doesn’t come from exchanging expensive presents with your loved ones but from spending precious time with them.
In the dull, winter days, what better place to spend a few hours and enjoy the bright decorations than a German Christmas Market !
Germany is home to some of the oldest and most joyful Christmas traditions in the world.
Every square in every town, every castle or fortress, every farm and every community organize their own Christmas market. Although the size and splendour can vary greatly, there are fun things to do and nice memories to make at every Christmas market.
Still, the most famous Christmas markets in Germany are in the following cities:
- Dusseldorf,
For the best possible results, go on a Christmas market hopping tour!
Either in a German city you’re visiting, or through a larger area, don’t limit yourself to just one German Christmas market. The magic is in the variety and the different themes of the markets.
📆 Why You Should Do it in December
You might think this is a trick question. However, some of the most popular German Christmas Markets open in late November and close before Christmas.
Crazy, eh? Joke aside, December is the only time of the year you can actually tick this item off your travel challenges list.
Which Travel Challenges Will You Do Next?
There are no winners at this game. There are no prizes either. Only countless memories and good friends you make along the way.
But isn’t this what travel is all about?
I hope you’ll enjoy all of the travel challenges on this list. And use the next 12 months to finish them.
Then, create your own travel challenges list!
Just don’t forget to share which travel challenges are your favourites .
After spending months living in Spain and the USA, years in Germany, and decades in Bulgaria, I set up on a mission to find the most epic road trips, the best beaches, and the most authentic local experiences for your next adventure.

Autism makes travel a challenge. Here’s how I learned to cope
Busy places and unexpected events used to send me into meltdown on holiday. An autism diagnosis helped me to adapt my plans and rediscover the joy of travelling
W andering hand-in-hand through the medieval streets of Bologna, my boyfriend and I were in awe of the sweeping porticoes and distinctive rust-red brickwork of the city. It was our first holiday together. We’d wanted to find somewhere beyond the obvious that would marry our respective interests in architecture and history. Bologna was the perfect fit.
We admired the Church of Santa Maria della Vita , with its imposing baroque interior, lavishly decorated in colourful frescoes and marble carvings. We caught a little red and blue express train up into the hills to the Santuario della Madonna di San Luca , and climbed the bell tower of the Basilica di San Petronio for panoramic views across the city.
But after one particularly long, hot day on our feet, with our stomachs clamouring to be fed, my mood began to shift. With the setting of the sun came the rising of my rage, as we struggled to agree on where we wanted to eat. In a city nicknamed La Grassa (“the fat one”), we weren’t lacking in options; in fact, it was the sheer number of well-reviewed eateries that was overwhelming.
Eventually we decided on pizza, and my boyfriend anxiously led us through sun-dappled alleyways, seeking out a little hole-in-the-wall spot with stellar reviews on Google. Looking back now, I’m ashamed of my reaction once we arrived. Instead of excitedly tucking into the steaming, cheese-drenched deliciousness before me, I burst into tears, refusing to order. And why?
Because they were slices .
In my mind, getting pizza meant that we’d be presented with a whole pizza. The idea of just grabbing a slice or two felt abhorrently wrong. It truly felt to me, in that moment, like I was being asked to do the impossible. Instead, we had to find a standard bistro and get me the right kind of pizza. Scrolling through photographs from that trip for this article, I find a snapshot of my boyfriend opposite me at the table, looking as if he’d just (barely) survived the fury of the Visigoths during the sacking of Rome.
It wasn’t until three years later – in spring 2020, when I was diagnosed as autistic – that this fragment of my life story, and many others like it, finally began to make sense.
B eing autistic means that life is a challenge, every day, in myriad tiny ways most others cannot see. Autistic people often grapple with sensory, social and communication challenges that manifest differently in each of us. As a toddler, for instance, I couldn’t stand the touch of grass on my skin. My parents could pop me down on a blanket by our tent during camping trips, safe in the knowledge that I wouldn’t stray. The same went for sand – putting me down to build a sandcastle on the beach only led to banshee-esque wailing until someone picked me up. When I got older, I preferred to stay by the tent and read my books than risk the chaotic din of the campsite playground. I’ve also always found it difficult when confronted with the unexpected. That could be anything, from a last-minute change of plans to something simply not turning out the way I’d pictured it in my head.
Relentlessly busy places are a terrifying prospect for those of us predisposed to sensory overwhelm. The best way I can describe how I experience this sensation is to ask you to imagine that the whole world has climbed into your chest. It then sits there, heavy and loud and bright, thrumming with energy, too much energy, more than any one person could hold within themselves. And yet, that’s what’s expected of us, day in, day out.
Fortunately, societal awareness of how autistic people interact with public spaces has grown over the past few years, thanks to the rise of lived experiences shared on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. The thriving autistic creator communities online were a lifebelt for me when I was first diagnosed, providing both insights into my own behaviour and suggesting coping mechanisms.
Initiatives such as the sunflower lanyard scheme are also having a real impact on how employees in train stations, airports, bus terminals and so on are trained in making these places more accessible to those with hidden disabilities. What I have learned is that many challenges can be overcome with sufficient planning and support from those around me. Through much trial and error over the last four years, I’m making real progress towards learning how to adapt my holiday plans to accommodate my needs. I now have a self-made kit for mitigating sensory overwhelm that I take with me whenever I travel: sunglasses, noise-isolating earplugs, noise-cancelling headphones, a fidget toy or two and a safe food to snack on (a favourite cereal bar, for example). Having avoided meltdowns by using these items in the past, I now can’t imagine travelling without them.
The process of writing my book, The Autistic Guide to Adventure , has provided many useful insights too. Designed to introduce younger readers from the autistic community to a variety of different outdoor activities, the book suggests how to best approach them from sensory, social and communication perspectives.
Take kayaking, for instance, a popular holiday activity in the UK thanks to our miles upon miles of public waterways and easily accessible coastline. I’ve kayaked on family holidays since a young age. Before I knew I was autistic, however, I’d never have thought to give myself extra time to get used to sitting in a new boat in a new location, testing the feel of a buoyancy aid or holding the paddle properly. Yet something as simple as taking the opportunity to do that – on dry land, before the kayak even gets near the water – can make a real difference to how comfortable and confident an autistic person might feel about trying this new activity. Most activity providers are understanding and would be happy to facilitate this, if you let them know in advance.
Other simple adaptations to recreational activities include using walking poles for all levels of hiking – not only on mountains – and bringing an inflatable for wild swimming. These help to maintain balance, something that many autistic people find hard because of difficulties regulating their vestibular system.
after newsletter promotion
There will never be one single trip or destination that’s perfect for every autistic person, because our individual strengths, struggles and support needs are so different. But if we each plan ahead and choose what to do or where to go based on our known sensory sensitivities, communication preferences and social battery life, every trip has the potential to be perfect just for us .
M ost recently, my boyfriend and I took a much-anticipated trip to the Arctic Circle, visiting Tromsø. There’s a key difference between this holiday and our stay in Bologna five years earlier: the weather. It’s common for autistic people to have strong preferences when it comes to temperature – in my case, I’ll always choose cold over hot.
That’s why Tromsø in December was a sensory dream for me. Plunged into polar night, the light was never brighter than a muted lilac haze for a few short hours around midday. The temperature was consistently below freezing; the snow lay piled in marshmallow-soft heaps along pavements and roadsides. It was as far a cry from the lively streets and humid air of summer in Bologna as you could get, and it was perfect.
Learning from previous experience, we planned exactly where we wanted to eat during the trip. We spent several cheerful mealtimes huddled by the fire pit at Raketten Bar and enjoyed Pølse , a hotdog stand in a sunshine-yellow kiosk dating back to 1911.
Autistic people often prefer the company of animals to other humans, but it’s not something I’d ever thought to factor into my travel plans before. In Tromsø, we ended up spending three out of our five days on activities involving animals: huskies, whales and reindeer. It was, without a doubt, one of the best decisions we could have made.
The joy of losing myself in a frenzied pack of newfound canine friends radiates from my face in photos from the day we went husky sledding.
Given that travel is something I treasure, it’s a relief to realise that my ability to do it is not limited by being neurodivergent. On the contrary, I truly believe some of my many travel experiences have been – and will continue to be – enhanced by the fact that my brain works on a different wavelength. When I close my eyes, I can still see the play of lavender light on the snow-capped mountains surrounding Tromsø. I’m immediately transported back to a place that felt like home to my soul, soothed without having to take even a step outside.

Taylor Swift Gives Fans a Glimpse Behind the Scenes of Making TTPD with 'Fortnight' Challenge Video
The pop superstar shared various clips of herself in recording studios and on photoshoot sets throughout the making of her latest album
Taylor Swift is offering a glimpse into her creative process.
After releasing her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department , last week, the pop superstar, 34, shared a behind-the-scenes compilation featuring footage of herself in recording studios and on photoshoot sets via YouTube on Monday, April 22.
"A fortnight making TTPD 🤍 Brought to you by YouTube Shorts #ForAFortnightChallenge ," Swift captioned the video, soundtracked by the album track "Fortnight" featuring Post Malone as part of an online initiative for fans to post clips filmed over a two-week period.
Taylor Swift/YouTube
The Grammy winner's latest YouTube Shorts upload marks her second as part of the challenge surrounding "Fortnight," as she shared a compilation of clips over the weekend — including many moments connected to her boyfriend, Travis Kelce .
In the video shared April 19, Swift is seen getting a kiss from the Kansas City Chiefs tight end in the kitchen, sporting a University of Kansas sweater, baking cinnamon rolls, repping merch for the NFL team and spending a night out in Singapore.
Ahead of releasing The Tortured Poets Department , Swift announced "Fortnight" would be the album's lead single and spoke about working with Malone, 28.
"I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever," she wrote on Instagram . "I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight."
After the song and its music video dropped April 19, Malone shared a photo of himself with Swift to social media and reflected on making the collaboration .
"It’s once in a lifetime that someone like @taylorswift comes into this world," he wrote in the caption. "I am floored by your heart and your mind, and I am beyond honored to have been asked to help you with your journey 🥹. I love you so much. Thank you Tay 💕."
Shortly following the release of The Tortured Poets Department , Swift took to social media and declared the "sensational and sorrowful" chapter of her life was "closed" now that the album was in fans' hands.
"The Tortured Poets Department. An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time - one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure. This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up," she wrote.

Taylor Swift draws backlash for 'all the racists' lyrics on new 'Tortured Poets' album
Lyrics from 'i hate it here' on taylor swift's 'the tortured poets department: the anthology,' have drawn attention for the songwriter's line about living in the 1830s 'but without all the racists.'.
Taylor Swift released a new album Friday , but not all listeners are loving a controversial line from her new song, "I Hate It Here."
In the track off of "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology," a deluxe version of her new album, the Eras Tour singer sings about discontent and the way our recollections are distorted by nostalgia. In it, she says she wants to return to an era that ended more than a century before her career began.
"My friends used to play a game where we would pick a decade we wished we could live in instead of this / I'd say the 1830s but without all the racists and getting married off for the highest bid," Swift sings in the track .
What we know about Taylor Swift's 'The Tortured Poets Department' album so far
The Civil War began in 1861, more than 30 years after the decade Swift references in the song. Slavery was still active in the United States during this time.
"Everyone would look down 'cause it wasn't fun now seems like it was never even fun back then / Nostalgia is a mind's trick if I'd been there, I'd hate it," she sings. "It was freezing in the palace."
'So many wrong things about this:' Social media users react to Taylor Swift's 'I Hate It Here' lyrics
The controversial line has drawn the ire of the internet and fueled conversations around Swift's lyricism. Users on X, formerly known as Twitter, reacted to Swift's " I Hate It Here" lyrics .
"y’all .. there are so many wrong things about this," one user wrote, while posting a screenshot of the song's lyrics from Genius .
Slavery's explosive growth, in charts: How '20 and odd' became millions
"'I'd say the 1830s but without all the racists' now Taylor …" another user commented .
Other fans on X defended Swift's songwriting capabilities as historical analysis.
"It's an interesting commentary on how we sometimes idealize certain eras without fully considering the realities of living in them," one commenter said .
'The Tortured Poets Department' features 31 songs
Swift's 11th album "The Tortured Poets Department" features 31 songs, when you add in the 15-song deluxe version "The Anthology," which includes "I Hate It Here." The album draws on heartbreak and coming of age, traditional themes for one of the world's most famous people and songwriters.
Lead single "Fortnight" features rapper and singer Post Malone .

Stagecoach 2024: Fans attempt breaking Guinness World Record at festival
A pr. 27—Festivalgoers at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing double denim (tops and bottoms) inside Diplo's Honkytonk at the Empire Polo Club in Indio on Saturday, April 27.
Unfortunately, the Wrangler-sponsored challenge came just 70 people short of breaking the record previously held by GAP Japan K.K in Japan, who broke it with 357 people back on January 31.
It seemed within grasp for the three-day event, where fans often sport western-themed fits. Right before the event began at the Honkytonk, which held a decent-sized crowd early in the afternoon, DJ 30Rack spun some tunes for the daily line dance lesson.
Fans who were there may not have not known the tally was scheduled for Saturday. As the line dancing ended, people began to leave, including folks sporting the denim-on-denim look.
Some, like Ashley McCollum of Thousand Oaks, heard about the denim record attempt through the Stagecoach mobile app, and her friend Tori Nguyen had seen it on her Instagram.
"I usually wear denim at least for one of my outfits when I come out here," McCollum said. "This year, I had a jacket I was going to wear one day and then shorts for the next day, but when I saw the challenge, I just brought both."
By 3 p.m., festival and Wrangler staff made a microphone announcement asking fans to head to the back of the Honkytonk, where they lined up and were then enclosed behind stanchions as official adjudicators for Guinness World Record using clickers kept count along with official stewards who observed groups of 50 or more waiting in the record attempt area.
The crowd's outfits included different colored denim coats, shirts, shorts and pants, which were all counted. Other people wearing denim jumpsuits, overalls, and dresses were turned away, along with people who only had one denim clothing item. To make matters worse, people who left the record attempt area were deducted from the count.
"I think they were waiting for more people to come in, and some people wanted to see the artists performing," said Sarah Casson, official adjudicator for Guinness World Record.
Tom Bradford, another official adjudicator for the Guinness World Record, said that these record-breaking events aren't exclusive to music festivals and are sometimes organized specifically to try and snub the Guinness World Record, but it helps to have mass groups of people and ensure the message for the attempt gets out.
"From what I heard from people outside, was it very much like 'Oh, I didn't know about it' or 'If I had known, I would've been there,' but harder at music festivals when there is so much going on, but we're happy that these people came out and attempted to break the record," Bradford said.
"It was a really fun event and valiant effort, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves despite not being a successful attempt this time around," Casson added.

Texas A&M Aggies G Layden Robinson Selected By New England Patriots In NFL Draft
Guard Layden Robinson is the latest Texas A&M Aggies player to enter the NFL.
- Author: Timm Hamm
In this story:
Texas A&M offensive lineman Layden Robinson is the latest Aggies player to hear his name called from the commissioner's podium in Detroit as the No. 103 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Patriots finished last season 4-13 and with a new head coach and a new quarterback, are in full rebuild mode. Robinson could contribute to the protection of new signal caller Drake Maye.
Oct 28, 2023; College Station, Texas, USA; Texas A&M Aggies offensive lineman Layden Robinson
Dustin Safranek-USA TODAY Sports
Robinson declared for the NFL Draft last December via X .
"I'm grateful and proud to move onto the next chapter of my career & being my pursuit of being selected in the 2024 NFL Draft" he posted.
Robinson also thanked former head coach Jimbo Fisher, former offensive line coach Steve Addazio, the training staff, professors, administrators, tutors, classmates, family and friends for his time in College Station and their impact in helping him prepare for the next phase of his career.
Robinson, a pivotal leader in the locker room and staple of the offensive line, started 33 games over three seasons with the Aggies, primarily lining up at right guard. He was a crucial factor in helping both Isaiah Spiller and De'Von Achane total over 1,000 rushing yards in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
Robinson also served as a two-time team captain in 2022 and 2023. Last season, he played in 10 games, helping A&M return to bowl eligibility after a woeful 5-7 record in 2022.
He returned for the 2023 season after garnering Day 2 NFL Draft buzz heading into last offseason.
