Dew Tour Copper 2023 - It’s Just A Numbers Game

dew tour schedule 2023

Tucked between the atmospheric rivers pounding the west coast and intermountain west, Dew Tour Copper 2023 provided the perfect reprieve for freeskiing and riding fans and athletes to celebrate this record-setting snow season. On our count, this year ‘s Dew Tour marks the franchise's 14th winter contest with Copper Mountain at the hosting helm for the last three years. Streamlined and dialed for crowd-pleasing high energy and style, the competition line up included: Super Streetstyle, Superpipe, Superpipe High Air and Best Trick Jam. Event masterminds didn’t disappoint. Known on comp circuits for its creativity and mixed-up contest formats to achieve ultimate crowd stoke, Dew Tour 2023 delivered high airs and big tricks.

Without Winter Olympic trials this year, athletes had more freedom to bring the stoke for the crowds. Olympic Gold Medalist Snowboarder, MTN DEW team rider and Summit County local Red Gerard commented ahead of the event, “The competitions will have some fun new course evolutions, so I’m hyped about the whole weekend!”

When you really get down to it, Dew Tour 2023 proved that age truly is just a number.

“Patti Zhou” - if you haven’t heard her name, it’s only a matter of time. Born in Beijing and now calling Silverthorne, Colorado home base, Zhou made mark in her inaugural Dew Tour appearance in the snowboard Superpipe and Super Streetstyle events. Zhou’s debut resulted in a second place finish in Snowboard Superpipe, becoming the youngest athlete to ever land a winter Dew Tour podium (and the second-youngest ever at any Dew Tour event). Let’s also mention that she came in second to South Korean Gaon Choi who earned the top spot. According to Gaon’s bio, she was “practically raised riding a snowboard, and can also throw down on four wheels at skateparks and vert ramps.” All at the spritely age of 14.

dew tour schedule 2023

Zhou said, "I feel so excited and so thankful to be here. All these great people mixed up all together inspired me to go bigger and have more style.” She also told the Associated Press, “I’m having so much fun learning from everybody! Contests like this make me want to skate and surf and snowboard forever.”

We’re so here for it.

And then…there’s the young at heart. Just cresting the five-decade mark at 52, Mix Master Mike brought the vibes and mixed up classic tunes to a packed crowd on Saturday night. Nestled between competitions, under the bright lights of the Streetstyle course, Mike lit up the stage, entertaining his contemporaries and those born after 2012, the year he was inducted into the Rock ’n Roll Hall of Fame with the Beastie Boys. (He may or may not have taken a few crowd selfies along the way.)

Known for his love of both DJing and snowboarding, entertaining fans surrounded by snow feels like home for this musical pioneer, named the “the world’s greatest DJ” by USA Today. From the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and 2014 Emmy Awards, Mix Master Mike has turned his tables for the people, from presidents to celebrities to packed crowds in the mountains.

According to an interview with The Denver Post, “I love it. I love the snow. I just love being out there,” he said, “It's always good to come back (to Colorado) and revisit old friends and see whole new generations of kids who aren’t really kids anymore. “ Mike continued, “Yeah, there is always a new society of kids coming up, and so you’ve just got to hammer that generation in the head with some dope new (bleep).”

On the final day of the comp, crowds got a taste of chaos, also known as the Superpipe High Air & Best Trick Jam presented by the U.S. Air Force. Bomb Hole host Chris Grenier described the session as a “complete trainwreck of awesomeness,” and analyst Todd Richards called it “the mullet portion of Dew Tour: we had the business up front, and now we have the party in the back.”

dew tour schedule 2023

Ayumu Hirano, sending a “wild, loose no-grab air to fakie, rolling down the windows at 22 feet, 8 inches on the edge of disaster to take the prize” according to the Dew Tour website, took home the top prize while battling it out in heavy snow conditions. With cash flowing (judges literally handing out stacks of cash for individual tricks during the contest), the athletes showed up, fired up, snow be damned. Ultimately, Hirano earned the MVP honors of the session. The judges awarded Zhou the “Best Time” honors on Sunday, as she clearly was having the best time of her 11-year old life.

Dew Tour Day 4: Live streams, updated coverage from Copper Mountain Resort

News News | Feb 9, 2020

Editor’s note: Watch video coverage of Dew Tour competitions via the live-stream link above throughout the day, beginning with the men’s ski superpipe final at 9 a.m. As the day progresses, the live stream above will be updated with the latest contest. You can also find live stream links below. Contests may also be postponed or canceled due to Sunday’s latest batch of weather.

SUNDAY’S RESULTS

Women’s ski slopestyle final, 2:30 p.m.

With Sunday’s storm picking up intensity right as the contest was about to start, a group of eight of the world’s best female slopestyle skiers convened and agreed to only hit the rails section of the Dew Tour slopestyle course at Copper Mountain Resort Sunday. The contest group was without Estonian teen phenom Kelly Sildaru, who did not compete due to a bruised knee suffered earlier in the week, and talented skier Sarah Hoefflin of Switzerland, who was a last-minute drop.

On the rails-only course, Swiss 20-year-old Mathilde Gremaud won the competition with a score of 94.66 on her second run. On that second run, Gremaud did a great job of riding each rail fully and cleanly. She landed several different variations of 270-degree rotations onto and off of rails before completing her run with a frontside 450 off of the canon rail at the bottom of the abbreviated course.

dew tour schedule 2023

Support Local Journalism

“I definitely wanted to do a front(side) 6(30) out of the last one,” Gremaud said, “but I felt a little slow so I was like, ‘might as well try to land clean a front(side) 4(50). And otherwise, what I remember is landing all I wanted.”

Gremaud landed her eventual Dew Tour-winning run immediately after Norwegian 22-year-old Johanne Killi overtook first with a second run score of 93.33. On that run, Killi began with a 270 to switch landing before skiing switch onto the next rail with a backside 270 out.

Killi then executed a blindside switch up on the next rail before another 270 out of the next rail feature. Killi’s back-to-back 270s set her up for the final feature on the couse, where she got a 630 around off the cannon rail to a switch landing.

U.S. skier Maggie Voisin joined them on the podium with her third-place score of 89.33 on her first run through the course. On Voisin’s first run, the21-year-old from Whitefish, Montana landed a blind switch-up up top on the course to begin a rails section she did a good job of skiing top-to-bottom of each rail. Voisin then threw a frontside 630 rotation off the canon rail feature at the bottom of the rail course to sew up that podium spot.

“I think we are definitely suited to skiing on days like this,” Voisin said of competing in the powder-day conditions. “It’s unfortunate we couldn’t do a full slope run, but luckily we have enough speed for the rails. It’s always a bummer. It’s not a full slope contest if there aren’t jumps. But we still want to compete, still want to go. So we are making it happen.”

Women’s snowboard slopestyle final, 12:30 p.m.

Mother Nature threw another snowy curveball at the Dew Tour Sunday, as five inches of fresh overnight snow and windy conditions led to the women’s snowboard slopestyle competition being contained to the rails portion of the course. That meant the best women’s slopestyle snowboarders in the world didn’t hit the jumps at Woodward Copper’s Central Park.

In the end, American legend Jamie Anderson followed up her gold-medal winning run at X Games Aspen’s slopestyle competition last month with a win at Copper Mountain Sunday. Anderson did so with a 92.66 on her third and final run through the course despite taking a tough, forceful tumble on her first run through the rails.

Japanese rider Miyabi Ontisuka, 21, gave Anderson a run for her money, though, with a first run through the course that earned her a 91.66. And Austrian star Anna Gasser ended up on the podium with an 88.00 despite the fact that the big air specialist wasn’t able to hit the jumps to improve her score.

Men’s snowboard modified superpipe final

Read the full feature story on James’ Dew Tour win here

After the first round of runs at the Dew Tour men’s modified superpipe competition, Australian star Scotty James made a statement that he’s here to extend his 10-contest winning streak. James topped the first round of runs with a 95.33 on the strength of a switch backside Michalchuk on the first modified feature to a cab double-cork 900 on the second side-hit modified feature leading into the traditional pipe portion of the course.

In the pipe, James checked his speed before going big on a frontside double-cork 1260 to a backside double-cork 1260. James’ score after that performance was ahead of Japan’s Yuto Totsuka (92.00) and Jan Scherrer of Switzerland (90.00).

James holds onto the lead after the second of three runs in the pipe. His second run was similar to his first, but he added in a switch backside double 1080 at the top of the pipe before another 1260 at the bottom. On the second run, James was awarded a 94.00, the second-highest score of the day for any competitor and ahead of second-place rider Yuto Totsuka of Japan.

After James landed his run, American rider Danny Davis, who just bumped up into fifth place with his second run, turned to slopestyle runner-up Brock Crouch and said “animal” referring to James’ flawless, powerful lines through the tricky modified superpipe course.

James wins. He’s 11-0 in pipe competitions since his Olympic bronze medal in Pyeongchang, South Korea in 2018.

Men’s ski modified superpipe final

Read the full story and see all photos from the wild ski pipe contest here

It was a wild men’s ski modified superpipe competition at Dew Tour’s final day Sunday morning, one complete with skis coming undone on landings and broken bindings.

In the end, Canadian 27-year-old Noah Bowman won with a 95-point score on his third and final run to leapfrog Gus Kenworthy of Telluride for first place. Bowman’s run stood out for its huge vertical amplitude and massive distance he traveled in the air down the pipe. Bowman transitioned from the modified portion of the course to the traditional pipe portion with a forward diving flare 540. He then boosted backward to ski switch into the pipe where he landed a pair of switch double-cork variations in the pipe with an alley-oop double 900 as well.

“I’ve really been trying to do my own thing within the realm of what we could push,” Bowman said of the inventive switch-heavy run he skied through the pipe. “I couldn’t be more hype. This is a dream come true. Honestly, a dream come true. …I think I just like to try to do something a little different. When I see forward tricks it makes me want to do switch stuff.

Kenworthy, an American Olympic medalist who now rides for Great Britain, had a redemptive day in the pipe on Sunday after struggling Saturday on the slopestyle course. Despite his recent struggles in big competitions like Dew Tour, the 28-year-old grabbed command of the competition early with an 84.66 as the first skier to drop into the pipe, which had him in second place position going into his second fun. On that second run, Kenworthy sent it even bigger, earning a 92.66 and first-place position with a run through the pipe that included an allley oop flat spin in the modified portion of the course before a rightside 1080 and a soaring switch 1260 at the bottom of pipe.

“I was really really stoked,” Kenworthy said. “I just wanted to put one down first run and hopefully gain some momentum confident. …Honestly I did everything I could. I’m happy with my performance.”

Young Nico Porteous of New Zealand finished in third with a score of 88 on his first run that was powered by a huge, powerful 1440 on the quarter-pipe transition hit that flows from the modified portion of the course into the traditional pipe.

Birk Irving, 20, of Winter Park, was the top scoring American on the day with an 87.33 on his final run through the pipe. On that run, Irving laced a line that featured an alley oop flat-spin 540 on the first modified feature into an impressive double-cork 1260 on the side-hit transition waterfalling into the pipe portion of the course. In the pipe, Irving landed his trademark double flat-spin 720 switch, or backward, before executing a 900.

Defending Dew Tour champion and X Games Aspen gold medalist Alex Ferreira of Aspen finished in fifth place with a score of 85.00 on the strength of a run that included a 540 with a tail grab up top on the first feature before he executed a rightside double flat-spin with a Japan grab on the side hit transitioning into the pipe portion. In the pipe, Ferreira sent a massive double-cork 1440 with a mute grab, holding his edge on the switch landing, before launching and landing a rightside 900 switch.

“It’s so different,” Ferreira said of the modified pipe contest compared to traditional halfpipe. “We’re audibiling the whole time.”

Fresh off of a dominating performance at the Mammoth Mountain Grand Prix, Aaron Blunck of Crested Butte had maybe the most interesting run of the day on a day full of wild lines through the pipe. Blunck on his final trip down aired up to a switch ride at the top of the first modified feature, landing a switch 360 down before launching a big switch double-cork 720, holding his edge to transition into the pipe.

In the pipe, Blunck landed a switch rightside 720 and a double flat-spin 900 to set up the speed for his double cork 1260 with a tail grab on his last hit. Blunck landed the trick but, a run after he lost a ski higher up in the pipe, he landed the trick seamlessly despite his right ski coming off, skiing on one foot into the corral. Though Blunck wowed the crowd more than any other skier with that landing he earned an 84.33 for sixth.

LIVE: Powder-day storm overtakes Dew Tour at Copper Mountain Resort, causes schedule changes. Summit locals to drop in to adaptive banked slalom course at 12:30 p.m. Go to bit.ly/DewTourDay2 for all of Summit Daily’s extensive coverage.#DewTour #PowderDay #ExploreSummit Posted by Summit Daily News on Friday, February 7, 2020

ORIGINAL STORY COPPER MOUNTAIN – With the world’s best freeskiers and snowboarders in town, Mother Nature can’t even hold herself back from hanging out at the Dew Tour all weekend at Copper Mountain Resort.

With Sunday’s latest batch of powder, Copper Mountain has now received just about three feet of fresh snow since Dew Tour began. That said, after some creative schedule adjustments Copper hosted all scheduled events for Dew Tour – sans a pair of qualifying rounds – through Saturday’s epic slate when Red Gerard won slopestyle gold in front of an adoring home crowd, Alex Hall had a day winning men’s ski streetstyle and finishing runner-up in slope and Miles Fallon dropped jaws to the packed-powder floors in men’s snowboard streetstyle.

As for Sunday, though, snow and gusty winds figure to potentially alter Dew Tour’s plans for the pair of men’s modified superpipe finals in the morning and especially the women’s slopestyle events in the afternoon. That said, check back here at our Summit Daily watch live post for everything you need to know about Sunday’s Dew Tour as developments progress:

As for Sunday’s events, the men’s freeski superpipe final is maybe the most loaded of finals at Dew Tour in terms of American talent, as there’s no shortage of potential U.S. podium placers.

Riding high on his dominant five-double-cork championship run at Mammoth Mountain last week, Crested Butte’s Aaron Blunck looked stylish as ever on the modified pipe at Copper Mountain during practice Wednesday. But the man who beat him at X Games last month and at Dew Tour last year, Alex Ferreira of Aspen, figures to have something to say about that No. 1 spot.

Other contenders to keep an eye on are twice-reigning Olympic halfpipe gold medalist and U.S. veteran David Wise, who is skiing well despite a broken femur in the offseason. Young Americans in the high-flying Birk Irving of Winter Park and the powerful Hunter Hess of Oregon also could steal the show, as could the return of New Zealand’s Nico Porteous.

As for men’s snowboard superpipe to follow, can anyone stop Scotty James? Maybe the modified superpipe can? After 10 consecutive wins in halfpipe events, including in the modified pipe at Breckenridge Ski Resort last year, it doesn’t seem likely the Australian star will be defeated.

Park crews remarked Wednesday how they could recognize James’ tracks on the modified course’s features based on where they were — signaling just how big he’s airing. That’s not a good sign for the rest of the competition.

But if anyone is to best him, Mammoth Grand Prix champ Yuto Totsuka is at the top of the list. A group of creative American riders, led by Danny Davis of Michigan and including Chase Josey of Idaho, Jake Pates of Eagle and Toby Miller of California, also will go for broke.

Out on the slopestyle course, Jamie Anderson will look for another win after her X Games Aspen medal last month is proof the 29-year-old is still at the top of her game.

With last year’s runner-up Julia Marino out due to injury, young American Hailey Langland also has the bag of tricks to tame this course no matter the weather. And then there’s Austrian star and defending Dew Tour champ Anna Gasser, who will look to make up for going home empty-handed from X Games.

And then for the final event of the weekend, despite a bruised knee Estonian teen phenom Kelly Sildaru will be the betting favorite Sunday on the slope course. Sildaru won this event in Aspen last month.

If there is anyone who might be able to knock off Sildaru on Sunday, it’s Sarah Hoefflin of Switzerland. The 2018 Olympic slopestyle gold medalist proved with her silver in Aspen last month that she’s ready if Sildaru leaves it for the taking.

Dew Tour men's adaptive slalom podium describes competing on pow day At Friday's Dew Tour action the adaptive banked slalom was the only event to go off due to the truly epic powder-day conditions. Despite the gusty winds and snow-filled slalom course, Owen Pick of England, Matti Suur-Hamari of Finland and Keith Gabel of Aspen finished atop the podium. DGPT Announces 2025 Season Schedule

dew tour schedule 2023

For Immediate Release:

August 15, 2024: The Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT) is excited to unveil its core 2025 season schedule for the United States and Europe alongside next year’s PDGA Pro Major schedule. In the coming months, a separate schedule of DGPT Q-Series and DGPT Exhibition events (including All-Star Weekend) will be released alongside the 2025 World Standings points structure.

“The 2025 season is a significant milestone for the DGPT, marking ten years of dedication, passion, and unprecedented growth both on and off the course,” said Jeff Spring, DGPT CEO and Tour Director. “We’re excited to celebrate this moment with players, fans, volunteers, event teams, partners, and all stakeholders who have helped create a beautiful ten years for professional disc golf, and we look forward to many more seasons to come.”

2025 DISC GOLF PRO TOUR SCHEDULE

The DGPT Celebrates its 10th Season

2025 will mark the 10th season of competition on the Disc Golf Pro Tour! To celebrate this milestone, the DGPT is offering three new season pass options for fans who plan to attend multiple DGPT events next year and has released a limited collection of 10th-season commemorative merchandise. Learn more about the season pass at DGPT.com/seasonpass and visit the DGPT Pro Shop to grab your 10th-season celebratory gear!

The Tour’s 10th season will consist of 24 tournaments that earn points towards the 2025 DGPT Championship. The Tour will continue to sanction events under a variety of event designations, including DGPT, DGPT+, DGPT Playoff, DGPT Q-Series, and DGPT Exhibition. All DGPT events except the Q-Series and Exhibition events will also carry the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) Elite Series designation.

Year Two in Europe

After a successful first year of collaboration with events across Europe, the tour will return again in 2025 with five DGPT events taking place in the lead-up to and weeks after the two European PDGA Pro Majors scheduled for next summer. As previously announced , the European Disc Golf Festival venue will assume PDGA Pro Major status for the 2025 season, and the European Open venue will host the first-ever PDGA Pro Worlds in Europe.

Following the same evolution as the U.S. Tour, the DGPT will retire the Silver Event designation in Europe in favor of the Q-Series designation. Several events from the 2024 European Tour are under consideration for a spot on the 2025 Q-Series schedule. Other European tournaments – including the PCS Open and Konopiste Open – will return to the Tour as full points events.

“In 2024, our goal was to support a large transition in the European disc golf community and oversee the launch of multiple DGPT-sanctioned events in Europe,” said Jeff Spring, DGPT CEO and Tour Director. “Now, in our second year, there will be five DGPT tournaments plus two PDGA Pro Majors for a total of seven large-scale events in Europe. This will include a full month of back-to-back competition starting in early July. We’re excited for the European swing next summer, the first Worlds in Europe, and to continue building and fostering our partnerships with European event teams via the Q-Series.”

New For 2025

Next year’s season will welcome the Kansas City Wide Open back on Tour as a full points event. The KCWO, which will run for the 43rd time in 2025, was part of previous PDGA National Tour schedules and was a 2024 DGPT Q-Series event. This Tournament will connect the Tour’s start in the Southeast United States with the first PDGA Pro Major of the year at the 2024 PDGA Champions Cup, which will be hosted at the DGPT’s OTB Open venue in Stockton, CA.

After the PDGA Champions Cup, the Tour will travel North for the Cascade Challenge in Shelton, WA. After a year each on the Silver and Q-Series schedule, the event has been elevated to full points status.

After the Cascade Challenge, the Tour will return to Portland, OR, for a combined DGPT+ event which will take place over the course of four days at Milo McIver State Park and Glendoveer Golf and Tennis. This tournament, which will be called the Northwest Disc Golf Championship in 2025, will unite the organizing teams behind two successful events (Portland Open & Beaver State Fling) and serve as the prelude to a future PDGA Pro World Championship bid that is currently in development in advance of the upcoming PDGA Pro Major Bid Submission deadline of October 1, 2024. The first two rounds will be held at Riverbend Gold at Milo McIver State Park. The final two rounds will take place at Glendoveer Golf and Tennis.

“We are excited to deepen our relationship with Stumptown Disc Golf by presenting a unified effort to host a premier competition for players and spectators in the Pacific North West,” said Brian Cole, Portland Open Tournament Director and DGPT Director of Operations. “I look forward to combining player and fan favorites Glendoveer East and Milo McIver into one event that challenges top talent and shows off the best of Portland area disc golf. The Stumptown club has been supporting the Portland Open since its inception, and Jesse Tomaino – Stumptown Disc Golf Board Member and Beaver State Fling TD – will bring a strong event team to this newly named but familiar tournament.”

DGPT+ and Playoff Events

Amongst the 17 U.S.-based events on the 2025 schedule, four will carry the DGPT+ designation. The Open at Austin will trade DGPT+ status with the Waco Annual Charity Open, which filled the early season DGPT+ slot in 2024. The Northwest Disc Golf Championship will maintain the DGPT+ status held by the Portland Open. Discraft’s Ledgestone Open and the Discraft Great Lakes Open will maintain their DGPT+ designations from the 2024 season.

The Tour’s 10th season will conclude with the DGPT Playoffs presented by Barbasol , which will feature the Green Mountain Championship, the MVP Open, and the DGPT Championship presented by Barbasol. The 2025 DGPT Championship will move to Lynchburg, Virginia, next year and feature the same venue hosting the upcoming 2024 PDGA Pro World Championships.

2026 and Beyond

While some events from the 2024 season will not return in 2025, current schedule planning for the 2026 season includes the Jonesboro Open, Dynamic Discs Open, and Swedish Open. Other events from previous years are also under consideration for future season bids. All tournaments and venues interested in bidding on a 2026 or 2027 DGPT event should contact [email protected] for more information.

Taylor Swift is wrapping up her European ‘Eras Tour’ shows. When are the singer’s Miami concerts?

Floridian Swifties have less than two months to grab a nice dress and stare off into the sunset with  Taylor Swift .

With her six-night stint at Wembley Arena in London coming to an end on Tuesday, Aug. 20 , the singer will be officially done with the European section of " The Eras Tour " and will soon prepare for her next stop — Miami.

What are Miami dates for the 2024 Taylor Swift Eras Tour?

Swift will perform in Miami on Thursday, Oct. 18 through Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Hard Rock Stadium.

See countdown to Swift's Miami shows in October

Where is hard rock stadium in miami.

Hard Rock Stadium actually is not in Miami. It's at 347 Don Shula Drive Suite 102, Miami Gardens, and will be the site of Taylor Swift’s Florida concert in 2024.

The last time Swift performed at Hard Rock Stadium was on her 2018 Reputation Tour.

Can I still purchase tickets for the Taylor Swift shows in Florida?

Tickets to all three of the Miami dates for Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” sold out via Ticketmaster  back in September . However, resale tickets are available via  StubHub  and  SeatGeek .

However, beware as a majority of these tickets are sold by scalpers above face value, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 for seats. For example, one of the cheapest set of tickets on StubHub for Miami's Oct. 18 date is $1,915 per ticket for a "limited, obstructed" view.

Vienna cancelations: Taylor Swift shows' Vienna terrorist threat have you rattled? How to re-sell your Eras Tour tickets

What items are allowed inside Hard Rock Stadium?

Hard Rock Stadium allows fans  one bag that is clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and does not exceed 12” by 6” and 12” or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar). In addition to one of the clear bags noted above, fans may also carry in a small clutch bag or purse approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap.

Items such as smartphones, binoculars, and cameras will still be permitted into the stadium. This policy is meant to speed up the process of entering the stadium along with increasing security measures.

What is the parking situation for Hard Rock Stadium?

The stadium does feature an extensive parking system with over 26,500 official car parking spaces, yet officials recommend advanced booking for anyone seeking a hassle-free parking experience.

To purchase parking at the Hard Rock stadium, check out their  website  here.

Locals also note to bring cash since parking can be found in surrounding neighborhoods and businesses in the area.

What does the weather typically look like in October in Miami?

When planning your outfit for the concert, make sure to take the weather into account.

AccuWeather experts said back in spring that daytime temperatures in Miami typically get up in the mid-80's in October, with evening temperature dropping to the upper 70's. They also noted that it's still a rainy month for the state with tropical systems forming, seeing anywhere from 7 to 7½ inches of rainfall.

What is the Eras Tour setlist? See what 'Tortured Poets Department' songs made the cut

Swift has dazzled fans by performing a mix of 44 to 45 songs spanning her 17-year career. From Red’s heartbreak anthems and Reputation’s moody rock bangers to the newest hits off of her 2024 album " The Tortured Poets Department ," the singer gives longtime stans their dream setlist:

  • Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince (shortened)
  • Cruel Summer
  • You Need To Calm Down (shortened)
  • Fearless (shortened)
  • You Belong With Me
  • We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
  • I Knew You Were Trouble
  • All Too Well (10 Minute Version)
  • …Ready For It?
  • Don’t Blame Me
  • Look What You Made Me Do
  • champagne problems
  • illicit affairs (shortened)
  • my tears ricochet
  • marjorie (shortened)
  • Blank Space
  • Shake It Off
  • Wildest Dreams (shortened)
  • Bad Blood (shortened)
  • But Daddy I Love Him
  • So High School (shortened)
  • Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?
  • The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
  • I Can Do It With A Broken Heart
  • Surprise Guitar Acoustic Song
  • Surprise Piano Acoustic Song
  • Lavender Haze
  • Midnight Rain
  • Vigilante Shit

Fans who attended Tampa's shows back in April 2023 will notice the setlist has changed quite a bit, especially with song taken out and replaced with newer hits.

Taylor Swift performed in Florida for Eras Tour 2023. What were Tampa’s surprise songs?

Speaking of the Tampa shows, throughout the Eras Tour Swift has performed two songs, usually album deep cuts, not on her setlist at each show. She has brought out collaborators like Aaron Dresner, Jack Antonoff and Marcus Mumford to join her on the stage.

Here are the surprise songs she performed in Tampa:

  • Thursday, April 13: “Speak now” and “Treacherous”
  • Friday, April 14: “You’re on You’re Own Kid” and “The Great War”
  • Saturday, April 15: “Mad Woman” and “Mean”

Who is Taylor Swift headliner Gracie Abrams?

Abrams, 23, is a singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California, and is the daughter of director J.J. Abrams.

She saw critical acclaim for her first two EPs — “This is What It Feels Like" and "Minor" — as well her 2023 debut album "Good Riddance" and 2024 sophomore album "The Secret of Us." Prior to Swift, she opened up for fellow artist Olivia Rodrigo on her debut Sour tour.

Swift has had an eventful summer. See Vienna cancelations, potential political endorsements

August is seemingly slipping away into a moment in time , especially for Swift. The month has been eventful for the songstress.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour shows in Vienna were canceled earlier this month following an alleged plot to attack the stadium. Three people were arrested for allegedly planning to attack Taylor Swift’s first concert.

According to officials and news reports, police arrested a 19-year-old Austrian who is accused of planning an attack at Ernst Happel Stadium with “bladed weapons” and the "construction of a bomb." A 17-year-old who would have been working at the stadium during Swift's concert was also arrested and a 15-year-old was questioned by police.

Swift nor her team addresses the cancelations or the alleged attack. She went on to perform her six sold out shows in London a week later.

In other news for the popstar, both U.S. presidential candidates are eying her prized endorsement. After Swift posted to Instagram last fall to remind her followers to vote, a record of more than 30,000 people signed up through Vote.org during National Voter Registration Day. Many of the signups were in Florida, according to USA TODAY.

Some have speculated Swift has shown her support for Vice President Kamala Harris at her concerts, with her fans starting "Swifties for Kamala" events. Former President Donald Trump has also tried to get her fans' attention , posting artificially generated images alluding to her alleged support on his social media platform  Truth Social .

2024 FedEx Cup standings, schedule, PGA Tour leaderboard, prize money, purse for FedEx Cup Playoffs

Your one-stop shop for everything you need to know throughout the 2024 fedex cup playoffs.

tour-championship-trophy-2023-g.jpg

Following an exciting regular season, the PGA Tour hosts a three-tournament postseason, the 2024 FedEx Cup Playoffs, which concludes with a massive Tour Championship where the majority of the grand total $100 million purse is dished out to golfers. In fact, the $25 million top prize is tied for the largest payout on the PGA Tour this season with the Players Championship.

Only 70 golfers advanced to the first round of the playoffs, the FedEx St. Jude Championship, same as last season. With 20 of those players now eliminated following the first event of the playoffs at TPC Southwind in Memphis, some of the biggest names in golf will no longer have a chance to compete for the top prize.

There's plenty of star power in the field, though, with Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele atop the standings and other significant players like Rory McIlroy, Hideki Matsuyama, Collin Morikawa and Wyndham Clark in contention. For Scheffler, a FedEx Cup win would be his first, but it would also serve as a feather in his cap on the back of a stellar season that already includes six PGA Tour victories and an Olympic gold medal. The same goes for Schauffele, a two-time major championship winner this season.

For everyone involved, there will be a ton of money and plenty of accolades at stake over the next three weeks. Let's take a closer look at what to expect from this year's festivities.

2024 FedEx Cup Playoffs schedule

The top 70 in the FedEx Cup standings, via points accumulated throughout the year, played in the St. Jude Championship this week.

All three events are 72-hole, stroke-play tournaments, though the fields gradually get smaller as the playoffs roll on. The points change, too, as everything is quadrupled. During regular-season events, most winners receive 500 FedEx Cup points for finishing first at tournaments (in a handful of events, 600 points went to first place). The winners of the first two FedEx Cup Playoffs events will instead receive 2,000 points each. The point boost goes for every slot on the leaderboard: 300 for second becomes 1,200 and so on.

Only seven golfers surpassed the 2,000-point total during the entire regular season: Scheffler, Schauffele, McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Ludvig Åberg and Sahith Theegala. Scheffler opened with nearly a 3,500-point lead on third-place McIlroy, while Schauffele himself was 1,500 points up on the rest of the field.

Still, the FedEx Cup standings can shift quite a bit -- especially for the winners of the first two events -- over the next couple weeks. Winners are disproportionately rewarded and deservedly so given this is the postseason. This provides the opportunity for golfers to go on a hot streak and rocket up the FedEx Cup standings. Regardless of what else happens, the first two playoff winners will be in great spots entering the finale, the Tour Championship at East Lake. Similar to other sports, now that the postseason has begun, almost anything can happen.

The top 50 in the FedEx Cup standings after the St. Jude Championship move on to the BMW Championship. Then the top 30 after that move on to the Tour Championship.

2024 FedEx Cup standings

Scheffler and Schauffele are having extraordinary seasons. They rank No. 1 and No. 3 on the all-time single season money list at $29.1 million and $17.6 million, respectively, following the first playoff event. Those numbers will only go up from there as the second playoff event, the BMW Championship, has a similar $20 million purse to the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Here's a look at the top 30 in the standings following the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Even though anything can happen over the next two weeks, players are still rewarded for what they accomplished in the regular season. The lead Scheffler (nearly 3,000 points over third) and Schauffele (1,100 points over third) have built will be difficult to chip away if those two continue performing well. For example, Schauffele is the only player who can mathematically catch Scheffler next week at the BMW Championship, and it will take a win to do it. Matsuyama is the only player who can catch Schauffele for second.

Scheffler and Schauffele are in a great spot to jump into the top two spots at the Tour Championship where they would start at 10 under and 8 under, respectively. That gives them a huge head start on winning the first FedEx Cup of their careers. For either, it would be emblematic of the quality of golf they have played for the last seven months as the 2024 PGA Tour season winds down.

2024 Tour Championship format

Heading into the Tour Championship inside the top five or top 10 in the FedEx Cup standings is important because of how scoring is dispersed. Whoever is first in the FedEx Cup standings after the BMW Championship starts the Tour Championship at 10 under, and the event is played under normal scoring conditions from there. Second starts at 8 under and so on (see full numbers below).

With so much money at stake (again, $25 million for first place), those margins become more meaningful than even a normal week. The eventual winners of the four FedEx Cups played under this format have all started in the top seven at the Tour Championship.

  • 6th to 10th: -4
  • 11th to 15th: -3
  • 16th to 20th: -2
  • 21st to 25th: -1
  • 26th to 30th: E

The figures are startling for the finale. The winner of the Tour Championship receive $18 million. If you just make into the final FedEx Cup Playoff event, you're guaranteed $500,000. Here's a look at what the lucrative top 10 will look like at the Tour Championship.

  • 1st: $25 million
  • 2nd: $12.5 million
  • 3rd: $7.5 million
  • 4th: $6 million
  • 5th: $5 million
  • 6th: $3.5 million
  • 7th: $2.75 million
  • 8th: $2.25 million
  • 9th: $2 million
  • 10th $1.75 million

Last year, Viktor Hovland won the BMW Championship and then took the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup over Schauffele. Both players shot the same 19-under score at East Lake to end the year, but Hovland started the tournament at 8 under while Schauffele only started it at 3 under so Hovland easily won by five and took home the first prize of what was then $18 million.

And which teams might have dropped?

Here's how our college football experts have ranked the top 25 teams heading into the season.

All times Eastern.

dew tour schedule 2023

No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs

The Bulldogs had won 29 straight games, including back-to-back national championships, before losing to Alabama in last season's SEC championship game. Kirby Smart insists his team won't need that loss, not to mention being left out of the playoff, for motivation. He said every team and every season is different. What's not different is that Georgia will again be one of the most talented teams in the country with one of the best quarterbacks ( Carson Beck ), perhaps the best offensive line Smart has had at Georgia, and a defense that will again be deep with new faces ready to emerge. This could be Mykel Williams ' breakout season at defensive end, and three-year starter Malaki Starks is one of the best safeties in college football. The road schedule, in particular, isn't easy. The Bulldogs have to play at Alabama, at Texas and at Ole Miss. They open the season against Clemson in Atlanta on Aug. 31. But even with that gauntlet, Georgia has all the pieces in place to be back in the playoff for the fourth time under Smart. -- Chris Low

Week 1 matchup: vs. Clemson on Aug. 31 (noon, ABC)

No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes

The stakes could not be higher for coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes, who try to end a three-year losing streak against archrival Michigan and win their first national title since 2014. Ohio State has one of its most talented rosters ever, after retaining almost every non-senior NFL draft hopeful and making key portal additions such as running back Quinshon Judkins (Ole Miss), safety Caleb Downs (Alabama) and quarterback Will Howard (Kansas State). Few teams will have more depth than Ohio State at defensive line, running back, secondary, wide receiver and quarterback. Offensive line will be an area to watch after some shakiness last season. The schedule includes no nonleague games against major conference competition, trips to Oregon (Oct. 12) and Penn State (Nov. 2), and a finale against Michigan at Ohio Stadium. Anything less than a win over Michigan and a deep CFP run would be deemed disappointing. -- Adam Rittenberg

Week 1 matchup: vs. Akron on Aug. 31 (3:30 p.m., CBS)

No. 3 Oregon Ducks

Despite losing a Heisman Trophy-level quarterback to the NFL and switching conferences, the Ducks are primed for yet another big year under Dan Lanning. Oregon has shored up the quarterback position by bringing in Dillon Gabriel from Oklahoma and Dante Moore from UCLA , while adding a ridiculous amount of talent at both skill and strength positions. Players such as former Texas A&M wide receiver Evan Stewart should thrive alongside returning players such as wide receiver Tez Johnson , while defensive additions such as cornerback Jabbar Muhammad from Washington and defensive lineman Derrick Harmon from Michigan State should complement the young talent that's already part of the Ducks' defense. If the quarterback fit is as seamless as it was for Bo Nix, reaching the title game is well within reach for one of the Big Ten's new additions. -- Paolo Uggetti

Week 1 matchup: vs. Idaho on Aug. 31 (7:30 p.m., Big Ten Network)

No. 4 Texas Longhorns

The Longhorns went on a revenge tour in their last season in the Big 12, making their first College Football Playoff appearance before falling short against Washington in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. They've got the QB in Quinn Ewers , with Arch Manning right behind him along with a stout offensive line, to make another run. But Ewers will have a nearly all-new supporting cast at receiver and running back -- where Texas has already lost RB CJ Baxter with a knee injury -- but Steve Sarkisian has a deep roster and still has four options in the backfield. The schedule takes a leap with the SEC slate and a Week 2 nonconference trip to Michigan, before Georgia visits in October. Two of the past three games are road trips to hostile environments at Arkansas and Texas A&M, two teams eager to revisit their rivalries. -- Dave Wilson

Week 1 matchup: vs. Colorado State on Aug. 31 (3:30 p.m., ESPN)

No. 5 Alabama Crimson Tide

Jalen Milroe is back at quarterback after finishing sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting last season and should flourish in DeBoer's system. Washington transfer Parker Brailsford adds to a big, physical offensive line, and Alabama fans are eager to see freshman sensation Ryan Williams at receiver. The middle of the defense should be strong, but there are questions in the secondary. The Crimson Tide lost three elite defensive backs to the NFL and the transfer portal. Georgia visits Alabama on Sept. 28 in one of the more anticipated games of the season, and four of the Tide's last six games are against teams ranked in the preseason Top 25. At Alabama, no matter who the coach is, it's always going to be playoff-or-bust -- at the very least. -- Low

Week 1 matchup: vs. Western Kentucky on Aug. 31 (7 p.m., ESPN)

No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Irish have a roster that looks playoff-caliber. On defense, Bronko Nagurski Trophy winner Xavier Watts returns alongside potential first-round draft picks Benjamin Morrison and Howard Cross . On offense, Notre Dame returns one of the nation's top tight ends ( Mitchell Evans ) and made some strong upgrades in the receiving corps with transfers Kris Mitchell and Beaux Collins . Much will come down to the performance of quarterback Riley Leonard , who arrives from Duke following a 2023 campaign mired by an injury that came against Notre Dame. Leonard's upside is significant, however, and if the offensive line develops as head coach Marcus Freeman hopes, the Irish figure to be primed for a playoff run. -- David Hale

Week 1 matchup: At Texas A&M on Aug. 31 (7:30 p.m., ABC)

No. 7 Ole Miss Rebels

If not now, when for Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss? Kiffin believes the Rebels look the part of an elite SEC program for the first time in his five seasons in Oxford. That's primarily down to Ole Miss' offseason work in the transfer portal, where the Rebels beefed up their offensive line with 15-game Washington starter Nate Kalepo and retooled on defense with additions from across the SEC, led by defensive tackle Walter Nolen (Texas A&M), edge rusher Princely Umanmielen ( Florida ), linebacker Chris Paul Jr . (Arkansas) and cornerback Trey Amos (Alabama). That group will bolster a rising defense under coordinator Pete Golding. On offense, quarterback Jaxson Dart returns for a third season at Ole Miss, and the Rebels bring back Tre Harris and Jordan Watkins , who combined for 107 receptions last season, to go with the addition of South Carolina 's Antwane Wells Jr . Ole Miss has a Quinshon Judkins -sized hole to fill in the backfield this fall, but otherwise the Rebels have all they need to finally push to the very top of the SEC. -- Eli Lederman

Week 1 matchup: vs. Furman on Aug. 31 (7 p.m., ESPN+)

No. 8 Penn State Nittany Lions

The Nittany Lions boast the top returning quarterback in the Big Ten who actually played in the Big Ten last season. Drew Allar quietly had a promising first season, throwing for 25 touchdowns with only two interceptions. He also finished 26th nationally and fourth in the Big Ten in Total QBR (73.7). Penn State, however, is hoping that new offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki can help unlock Allar as a downfield passing threat; Allar ranked just 92nd in yards per passing attempt (6.76) and 109th in air yards per attempt (7.05). With Kotelnicki calling plays, Kansas ranked third in yards per attempt (10.04) and 10th in air yards per attempt (11.20) last year. The Nittany Lions have the talent on both sides of the ball to make a run to the playoff -- if the passing attack takes another step forward. -- Jake Trotter

Week 1 matchup: At West Virginia on Aug. 31 (Noon, FOX)

No. 9 Michigan Wolverines

The defending champs don't go through as hard of a reset as the team they beat for the title (Washington), but there will be new faces on the field and the sideline. Still, Michigan has arguably the best players at three different positions in cornerback Will Johnson , defensive tackle Mason Graham and tight end Colston Loveland . Johnson, Graham, Kenneth Grant and others lead a defense that should remain elite under veteran coordinator Wink Martindale. Michigan will need to figure out its quarterback situation, where both Jack Tuttle and Alex Orji are likely to play early on. The Wolverines return running back Donovan Edwards , Loveland and a receiving corps that is generating some internal optimism. First-time coach Sherrone Moore doesn't face overwhelming pressure right away, and Michigan's toughest games are at home -- Texas (Sept. 7), Oregon (Nov. 2) and USC (Sept. 21) -- before finishing the regular season at Ohio State (Nov. 30). -- Rittenberg

Week 1 matchup: vs. Fresno State on Aug. 31 (7:30 p.m., NBC)

No. 10 Florida State Seminoles

There are myriad questions Florida State must answer this season -- chief among them, how do the Seminoles respond after the heartbreak of last season? Coach Mike Norvell says they have left their disappointment over their College Football Playoff snub in the past, but several players have said they want to prove that their undefeated run to an ACC championship was no fluke. They enter the season with a completely revamped offense, starting at quarterback, where Clemson/ Oregon State transfer DJ Uiagalelei takes over for Jordan Travis . Will this be his best season yet? Then there are the receivers, largely unproven, tasked with replacing Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson . Florida State returns an experienced offensive line and deep running back room, so expect a different look on offense. Defensively, Florida State once again has depth on the defensive line -- watch for Georgia transfer Marvin Jones Jr . -- and a top-tier secondary. The talent is there for the Seminoles to make their long-anticipated return to the playoffs. -- Andrea Adelson

Week 0 matchup: vs. Georgia Tech on Aug. 24 (Noon, ESPN)

No. 11 Missouri Tigers

There hasn't been this much momentum surrounding Missouri's football program since the Tigers were coming off a 12-win season in 2013 and SEC championship game appearance in only their second year in the league. It all starts with the pass-catch combination of quarterback Brady Cook and receiver Luther Burden III . Both will be in their third year as starters. Missouri lost several productive players to the NFL, including first-round pick Darius Robinson on the defensive line. But coach Eliah Drinkwitz hit the transfer portal hard and brought in players at key spots on both sides of the ball. Among them: running backs Marcus Carroll and Nate Noel , offensive tackle Marcus Bryant and defensive end Zion Young . Missouri lost its defensive coordinator, Blake Baker, to LSU and replaced him with Corey Batoon. The Tigers are fortunate to have one of the SEC's more favorable schedules, including a cushy nonconference slate. In the league, Missouri avoids Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss, LSU and Tennessee. Another season of double-digit wins certainly looks doable, which could include a playoff trip. -- Low

Week 1 matchup: vs. Murray State on Aug. 29 (8 p.m., SEC Network)

No. 12 Utah Utes

It was a big offseason for the Utes as the program officially announced that defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley would be taking over as head coach when Kyle Whittingham (whose contract runs through 2027) retires. It's unclear whether this could be Whittingham's last hurrah, but it will be Cam Rising 's final shot at taking Utah to the College Football Playoff and beyond. After sitting out last season due to his recovery from knee surgery, Rising, who has already won two Pac-12 titles for the program, decided to return to Salt Lake City. Now in the Big 12, the Utes are one of the favorites to win the conference and have added key talent like former USC wideout Dorian Singer to bolster an offense that was without an identity last year. The defense, like any under Whittingham, should also be back to its typical form. -- Uggetti

Week 1 matchup: vs. Southern Utah on Aug. 29 (9 p.m., ESPN+)

No.13 LSU Tigers

As Brian Kelly enters his third season at LSU, the Tigers will have a different look on defense, and with good reason. They couldn't stop anybody a year ago, wasting an offense that led the country in scoring (45.5 points per game) and Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels . Kelly brought in Blake Baker from Missouri as defensive coordinator along with three new assistants on defense. It's that side of the ball that has to improve significantly if the Tigers are going to make a playoff run. On offense, Garrett Nussmeier gets his shot at quarterback after waiting his turn behind Daniels. Nussmeier passed for 395 yards and three touchdowns last season in the ReliaQuest Bowl. And while first-round draft picks Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr . have departed at receiver, LSU is excited to see what Kyren Lacy can do in an expanded role. The Tigers have the best offensive tackle tandem in the country in Will Campbell and Emery Jones . The Sept. 1 season opener against USC in Las Vegas will be key. If the Tigers can win that one, they have an excellent chance to be 5-0 going into a home date with Ole Miss on Oct. 12. -- Low

Week 1 matchup: vs. USC in Las Vegas on Sept. 1 (7:30 p.m., ABC)

No. 14 Tennessee Volunteers

Tennessee's 27 wins in three seasons under Josh Heupel represents the program's best three-year run since Phil Fulmer won 28 games from 2002 to '04. Still, pressure hangs over the Volunteers, who enter 2024 with College Football Playoff expectations. Nico Iamaleava takes over under center, tasked with rejuvenating an offense that dipped from its historic 2022 levels last fall, while Dylan Sampson (5.7 yards per carry in 2023) returns in the backfield. There should be stability on the offensive line as LSU transfer Lance Heard settles in next to three returning starters, but Tennessee's strength lies with a defensive line that led the SEC in tackles for loss in 2023, a group set to be powered again this fall by potential first-round draft pick James Pearce Jr . A Week 2 neutral-site meeting with NC State will be a litmus test for the Volunteers. Can Tennessee navigate a relatively favorable SEC schedule on the way to the program's first College Football Playoff appearance? -- Lederman

Week 1 matchup: vs. Chattanooga on Aug. 31 (12.45 p.m., SEC Network)

No. 15 Clemson Tigers

Once a top-five mainstay, Clemson has not made the College Football Playoff in three years and won nine games in 2023 -- the first time in 12 years the Tigers failed to reach double-digit wins. But coach Dabo Swinney remains unconcerned, firmly believing in the direction the program is headed. Swinney has defended his decisions and his offense, starting with Cade Klubnik , who enters a crucial second season as the starter with Garrett Riley calling the plays. Clemson is banking on a better offensive line and young receivers to step up and show improvement. Meanwhile, the defense is expected to return to form after a bit of a dip a year ago, with Barrett Carter leading the way, along with super sophomores Peter Woods and T.J. Parker . We will know much more about Clemson after the first five games of the season -- the Tigers open against Georgia, then have NC State and Florida State in two of their first three league games. Clemson lost to both last year. -- Adelson

Week 1 matchup: vs. Georgia on Aug. 31 (Noon, ABC)

No. 16 Kansas State Wildcats

All QB transfers are not created equal: Will Howard was a productive starter for the Wildcats before exiting for Ohio State. But Howard's exit clears a path for Avery Johnson , a Kansas native and four-star recruit who had five rushing TDs off the bench against Texas Tech last year as a true freshman, then started in the Pop-Tarts Bowl, where he was named the MVP. Chris Kleiman's teams play tough defense, and his offensive system will remain despite the loss of coordinator Collin Klein to Texas A&M. New co-OC's Conor Riley and former Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells will have to break in an offensive line that returns just one full-time starter but added pieces like Colorado RB Dylan Edwards and Kent State / Penn State WR Dante Cephas . After a 3-2 start last season, K-State finished 9-4 a year after a Big 12 title, losing those four by a combined 21 points, including taking Texas to overtime in Austin. The Wildcats will continue to be one of the toughest outs on the schedule. -- Wilson

Week 1 matchup: vs. UT Martin on Aug. 31 (7 p.m., ESPN+)

No. 17 Oklahoma Sooners

Oklahoma is 16-10 in two seasons under coach Brent Venables and the stakes are high for the Sooners as they make their SEC debut this fall. Linebacker Danny Stutsman and safety Billy Bowman Jr . lead a deep group of returners in a defense finally taking shape in Year 3 of the Venables era, now led by first-year defensive coordinator Zac Alley. On offense, pressure rests on the shoulders of first-year quarterback Jackson Arnold and an offensive line down four starters from a year ago. Around them, the Sooners carry optimism in running back depth that includes Gavin Sawchuk , Jovantae Barnes and freshman Taylor Tatum , and a deep wide receivers group headlined by Purdue transfer Deion Burks . Initial conference meetings with Tennessee (home), Auburn (away) and Texas (neutral) will provide early tests for Oklahoma, while trips to Ole Miss, Missouri and LSU, and a visit from Alabama await in a daunting back half of the season. -- Lederman

Week 1 matchup: vs. Temple on Aug. 30 (7 p.m., ESPN)

No. 18 Oklahoma State Cowboys

With Texas and Oklahoma off to the SEC, there is an obvious void atop the Big 12. Oklahoma State is well-positioned to fill it. The Cowboys have been good for nearly all of Mike Gundy's tenure -- this is Year No. 20 as the head coach -- but they haven't won a conference title since 2011 and finished ranked in the top 10 on only one other occasion (2021). This year, they'll lean heavily on running back Ollie Gordon , who rushed for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns last season and finished seventh in Heisman Trophy votes. He put the NFL on hold to return to school alongside quarterback Alan Bowman , who is entering his seventh season of college football. -- Kyle Bonagura

Week 1 matchup: vs. South Dakota St. on Aug. 31 (2 p.m., ESPN+)

No. 19 Miami Hurricanes

It has been a rough start to the Mario Cristobal era, with the Hurricanes going just 12-13 (6-10 in conference play) over the past two seasons. But despite the on-field results, Cristobal has been consistently stockpiling talent, and this offseason, the Canes went all-in, adding a host of big names via the transfer portal, including RB Damien Martinez , DE Tyler Baron and QB Cam Ward . The result is arguably the most talented roster in the ACC and lofty expectations for the 2024 season. Miami will offer some evidence on whether it's able to match those expectations with a critical Week 1 matchup against Florida, but the rest of the schedule sets up well for a real run. Two of Miami's three biggest conference games -- Virginia Tech (Sept. 27) and Florida State (Oct. 26) -- are at home. Miami has never won an ACC title, but 2024 feels like a now-or-never campaign. -- Hale

Week 1 matchup: At Florida on Aug. 31 (3:30 p.m., ABC)

No. 20 NC State Wolfpack

NC State has just one 10-win season in program history -- all the way back in 2002 with Philip Rivers at QB -- but there's a strong case that this is as talent-rich an offensive unit as any the Wolfpack have had since that season. Along with rising sophomore KC Concepcion , coach Dave Doeren added a host of impact players in the portal this offseason, including center Zeke Correll , tailbacks Jordan Waters and Hollywood Smothers , receiver Noah Rogers , tight end Justin Joly and QB Grayson McCall . NC State is 17-9 over the past two seasons despite myriad QB issues and an offense that has averaged just 25 points per game (85th in FBS) over that span. Instead, the questions might be on defense -- a unit that must replace All-American Payton Wilson . The job likely falls to converted safety Sean Brown , but he'll be flanked by a solid secondary led by Aydan White and a veteran front. NC State's schedule is another reason for optimism, but the Wolfpack will need to survive an arduous start with Tennessee in Week 2 and Clemson in Week 4 before enjoying the softer slate in October and November. -- Hale

Week 1 matchup: vs. Western Carolina on Aug. 29 (7 p.m., ACC Network)

No. 21 Arizona Wildcats

After finishing the season on a seven-game winning streak and with considerable star power returning on both sides of the ball, Arizona moves to the Big 12 with a conference title on its mind. Consider this: The only game the Wildcats lost in regulation last year was a one-score game to Washington -- the national title runner-up -- and quarterback Noah Fifita and receiver Tetairoa McMillan might be the best duo in college football. Their two best defensive players -- cornerback Tacario Davis and linebacker Jacob Manu -- are also back. The most unknown variable -- and it's a big one -- is how the team will look under first-year coach Brent Brennan, who was hired from San José State after Jedd Fisch left for Washington. Had Fisch remained, the Wildcats would have likely been a more popular pick to win the Big 12 because the talent to do so is there. -- Bonagura

Week 1 matchup: vs. New Mexico on Aug. 31 (10:30 p.m., ESPN)

No. 22 Texas A&M Aggies

Texas A&M has gone 20-17 since its 9-1 finish under Jimbo Fisher in 2020. What's a reasonable expectation this fall under new leadership with Mike Elko settling into life in College Station? There's promise in quarterback Conner Weigman , who impressed in four games last fall before suffering a season-ending foot injury. The Aggies must replace top returning rusher Rueben Owens (season-ending lower-body injury), and first-year offensive coordinator Collin Klein will search for production behind wide receiver Jahdae Walker and Noah Thomas , along with stability on the offensive line. On defense, Texas A&M projects to be strong up front with Purdue transfer Nic Scourton -- last fall's Big Ten sack leader -- joining Shemar Turner , DJ Hicks and Shemar Stewart on the defensive line. Behind them, Elko has a pair of rising stars in Freshman All-America linebacker Taurean York and safety Bryce Anderson . Between visits from Notre Dame, Missouri, LSU and Texas, the Aggies get all of their toughest games at home, a favorable draw in a foundation-building season for Elko & Co. -- Lederman

Week 1 matchup: vs. Notre Dame on Aug. 31 (7:30 p.m., ABC)

No. 23 USC Trojans

It's a brand-new world for USC this season, which not only joins the Big Ten but will also do so without its star quarterback after former Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams left for the NFL. Backup QB Miller Moss appears more than ready to try to fill Williams' shoes after a six-touchdown performance in last year's Holiday Bowl. Yet the biggest question surrounding Lincoln Riley's team will likely be centered around the defense. Under new defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn, the Trojans have revamped their staff, their scheme and their physical makeup (Riley said the team collectively added 1,400 pounds of muscle in the offseason) to try to turn what was a clear weakness last season into a strength that allows them to compete against the best teams in the country. Whether that happens this year remains to be seen, but USC flying slightly under the radar might not be such a bad thing for Riley & Co. either. -- Uggetti

Week 1 matchup: vs. LSU in Las Vegas on Sept. 1 (7:30 p.m., ABC)

No. 24 Kansas Jayhawks

The Jayhawks are coming off a 9-4 season, their best since 2007, with a Guaranteed Rate Bowl win. Lance Leipold's rebuild now has KU as a legitimate Big 12 contender, a remarkable achievement, and he has stayed in Lawrence despite interest from big programs. The schedule is fortuitous, with no Utah, Oklahoma State or Arizona, but how far KU can go will likely be determined by Jalon Daniels ' frustrating back issues, which sidelined the preseason Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year last season for all but one conference game. He has averaged only six starts a year in his four years but is one of the most dynamic players in the country when he's healthy. There are weapons around him: Devin Neal has two straight 1,000-yard seasons at RB and the Jayhawks' top three WRs return. -- Wilson

Week 1 matchup: vs. Lindenwood on Aug. 31 (8 p.m., ESPN+)

No. 25 Iowa Hawkeyes

The Hawkeyes are banking on an improved offense behind the arrival of coordinator Tim Lester and healthy return of quarterback Cade McNamara . Last season, McNamara started five games before suffering a torn ACL. As a result, Iowa's offense under then-offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz never got going. The Hawkeyes finished last in the Big Ten in yards per game (235.4), yards per play (3.95) and first downs per game (12.80). Iowa was also last in Total QBR (19.4) by a considerable margin (Nebraska was next-to-last with a Total QBR of 40.9). Iowa always plays hard-nosed defense. If the Hawkeyes can get the version of McNamara that helped quarterback Michigan to the Big Ten title in 2021 -- and if Lester can help generate more big plays -- Iowa could become a stealthy Big Ten contender. -- Trotter

Week 1 matchup: vs. Illinois State on Aug. 31 (Noon, Big Ten Network)
