Founded in 1563 by the Spanish conqueror Gerónimo Luis de Cabrera (of Andalusian origin), under the name of Villa de Valverde. It has an extensive and important historical past, since the first settlers date back more than 10,000 years. The city was home to many cultures such as the Paracas, Wari, Ica or Nasca. After its foundation, a good number of religious buildings of great importance were built, and already in the 20th century the construction of the majestic Sanctuary of Luren, one of the best known, was carried out. This area is an important agricultural region, where grapes, cotton, asparagus, olives and other products are grown for local consumption and for export. It is known by Peruvians as the land of the sun, and although the 4 seasons of the year are present, the hot and dry climate makes it feel like summer throughout the year, something that tourists will surely appreciate. Throughout the Ica region and its surroundings, visitors can visit the Pisco production factories, as this region would become the traditional source of Peru.

Myth or Reality?

The Palm Tree of the 7 Heads is known as the enchanted tree of Cachiche. This imposing date tree that grows in the town of Cachiche is one of the places of interest in Ica. It owes its particular name to the fact that instead of growing upwards, it grows sideways like a large vine, with different trunks on which palm trees flourish. It is one of the natural attractions of Ica linked to mystical beliefs. Only 6 heads are observed, since the seventh is cut off by its inhabitants, for fear that the prophecy that announces the collapse of the city will be fulfilled if the seventh comes out. The prophecy was fulfilled in 1998 when the villagers did not cut down the seventh palm tree and a natural phenomenon occurred that left the town sunk under water. Myth or Reality? the truth is that they have not found an explanation for this event. If you want to discover the mysteries of this tree, visit it on your trip to Ica.

Traditional customs and festivities of Ica

This festival lasts more than a week and is celebrated approximately between March 8 and 18. After the bunch picking, sumptuous lunches are organized on the estates with a wide variety of wines. Many activities and dances take place in the city of Ica. The most significant are the cockfights, the horse parade and the parade of young people who come from many countries. The peculiarity of this festival is that the funds raised are donated for charity.

At the beginning of the 18th century, the inhabitants of Yauca (near Ica) found an image of the Virgen del Rosario abandoned among some bushes. The locals tried to lift it without success. To pay homage to her presence, they built a chapel near her. The image of the Virgin only moved after a prayer from the founder of the chapel. Those present will be stunned by the situation, causing the story to spread throughout the area. Since then, every first Sunday in October, homage is paid to the Virgin of Yauca, whom they made their patron. One week before the appointed day, the traditional sweeping is carried out. Pisco sour is a drink made with lemon juice and pisco. One of the products with which pisco is made has its origin in this area: the pisco grape. Every first Saturday of February a tribute is celebrated to this grape brandy considered a spiritual drink. To liven up this festivity, barman contests are held to make the best pisco cocktail.

On special dates such as Christmas and the Feast of the Kings, the women of Ica gather with their colorful regional costumes. Pallas (maidens) show off their dancing skills and tap their heels, some even carry guitars or lilies. This typical dance can be seen throughout the Ica region.

In Huacachina, five minutes from Ica, there is an oasis in the middle of the desert, being the largest in America. Last century a spa was built that has been a place of leisure for the people of Ica, as well as for miles of visitors eager to enjoy a day in such a magical place.

Two centenary clubs represent Ica in the Peruvian Football Federation. Although they are not one of the most powerful clubs in the nation, both star in one of the most beautiful and passionate classics (a duel between teams from the same city). They share the José Picasso Peratta stadium, which is filled whenever both clubs face each other for victory.

Llegada a Ica. Recepción y traslado a su respectivo Hotel. Por la tarde 13:00 hrs. Inicio con la visita a la ciudad de Ica con una duración de 3 horas. Durante nuestro recorrido visitaremos los siguientes lugares: La Plaza de Armas de Ica, El Templo y alameda de Luren, Visita a Cachiche; pueblito donde antiguamente existieron Brujas, donde observaremos la palmera de las 7 cabezas y Monumento de una de las brujas de Cachiche, Bodega vitivinícola Catador, donde se le explicara la elaboración de las principales bebidas Iqueñas y se le dará a degustar los diferentes productos que produce cada bodega como son el Pisco y El Vino. Finalmente nos dirigiremos al Oasis de la Huacachina, ubicada a solo 5 Km. del centro de la ciudad de Ica. En esta hermosa laguna los visitantes podrán disfrutar de la tranquilidad del lugar y caminar por los alrededores en busca de buenas fotos. Las enormes dunas que rodean la laguna permiten a los visitantes practicar uno de los deportes más fascinantes en la zona, tabla sobre arena popularmente llamado Sandboarding. Noche en Ica.

Desayuno en el Hotel. 06:20 hrs Traslado de Ica hacia Paracas (Muelle el Chaco). Tendremos un paseo guiado en lancha hasta las Islas Ballestas, donde podremos observar leones marinos, pájaros bobos, pelícanos, pingüinos y otras aves marinas. Tanto en la ida como en el retorno tendremos la oportunidad de ver el “Candelabro”, una figura gigantesca de origen desconocido, del estilo de las Líneas de Nazca, dibujada en la arena en la ladera de un cerro. Una vez que hayamos visitado todas las islas con nuestro deslizador, retornaremos al muelle del Chaco. Finalmente los recogemos del muelle para Visitar la Reserva Nacional de Paracas, Durante esta excursión terrestre a la reserva, los visitantes podrán apreciar grandes grupos de flamencos alimentándose en las orillas de mar. Para poder tener una mejor vista de estas hermosas aves, será necesario hacer una pequeña caminata hacia un pequeño mirador, de la cual podremos verlas mucho mejor. Luego pasaremos por la sala de interpretación de Paracas, aquí nos brindan una breve explicación sobre la flora y fauna que existe en la reserva. Aquí yacen los esqueletos de algunos animales, tales como ballenas, lobos, pingüino, entre otros. Más tarde continuaremos con nuestra visita atravesando el desierto, siguiendo una ruta no asfaltada hasta llegar a la hermosa playa de Lagunillas, en donde podremos disfrutar de un buen almuerzo y bebidas frente al mar. Luego del almuerzo, los que deseen podrán bañarse en la playa, y alrededor de las 15:00 h, estaremos regresando a Paracas y luego a Ica. (No Incluye Almuerzo). A hora indicada traslado a la Estación de Bus para el retorno a la ciudad de Arequipa. Viaje nocturno. Fin de Nuestros Servicios!

Catedral, data del siglo XVIII, fue parte del conjunto monumental de la Compañía de Jesús. Fue refaccionada en 1814. La iglesia tiene dos estilos, en el exterior el neoclásico representado en su portada y en el interior, el barroco del púlpito y los altares.

Santuario del Señor de Luren, el estilo de este templo es de arquitectura neoclásica con planta en cruz latina. Se caracteriza por tener tres portales con arquerías de ladrillo. Es uno de los templos más concurridos de la ciudad ya que alberga al Santo Patrón de Ica. Este templo está en proceso de demolición (2008) debido al Terremoto del Perú de 2007 que azotó a la región.2​3​

Museo Regional Adolfo Bermúdez Jenkins, exhibe una colección de piezas de las culturas Paracas, Nasca, Huari, Ica e Inca . Además, se aprecia una muestra de lienzos y muebles coloniales y republicanos, muy concurrido en la ciudad.

Museo de Piedras, fundado por el coleccionista Dr. Javier Cabrera presenta una colección de misteriosas y diversas piedras grabadas con escenas de actividades humanas.

Casona del Marqués de Torre Hermoza, uno de los pocos ejemplos de arquitectura virreinal que han sobrevivido a los movimientos sísmicos y al crecimiento urbano. Destaca su portada rococó labrada en piedra. Es conocida como La Casa Bolívar pues alojó al Libertador en su paso por la ciudad.

Casona Mendiola, que fuera propiedad de las hermanas Martínez Benvenuto, posee una hermosa planta virreinal de doble patio en la calle Bolívar. Ha sido dañada interiormente por el terremoto del 2007.

Cachiche, lugar conocido por las míticas brujas buenas que residian en el lugar, en este se resalta la bruja conocida como Julia Hernández Pecho Viuda de Díaz quien sanaria a un joven Fernando León de Vivero quien se convertiria en congresista de Lima.

Este en agradecimiento volvio a Cachiche años mas tardes y colocando una estatua en su honor, tambien se encuentra la palmera de las s iete cabezas , cuyos troncos adoptan formas bastante tétricas y escalofriantes, a manera de gigantescas serpientes, y sus raíces se mezclan y confunden a ras del suelo.

Laguna de Huacachina, lugar tradicional de paseo y de descanso para los iqueños, y lugar de obligada visita para los foráneos.

La laguna de Huacachina es uno de los pocos oasis naturales que existen en el país, que se conjuga con un paisaje que armoniza dunas, palmeras y huarangos .

A las aguas de la laguna se le atribuyeron en el pasado grandes propiedades curativas al cual se le atribuye una leyenda antigua de una sirena que vive en la laguna .

Arequipa – Cusco 7 Days

This 7-day circuit includes visits to the city of Arequipa, the Colca Valley, Cusco, the Sacred Valley of the Incas and Machu Picchu.

DAY 01: AREQUIPA – CITY PEDESTRIAN TOUR AND SANTA CATALINA CONVENT

Reception in the city of Arequipa and transfer to the hotel.

In the afternoon, we will visit the city of Arequipa: the Mirador de Carmen Alto (place where you can see the Chilina Valley), the Yanahuara viewpoint, the Santa Catalina convent, a 17th century “small town” open to the public In 1970, after 400 years of cloister, which transported its visitors four centuries in the past, it will pass through numerous and wide patios and gardens, the kitchen and the slave rooms and the stone laundries, the Plaza de Armas , where we will see the Cathedral (only façade), the Church and the Cloisters of the Compañía de San Ignacio. DAY 02: AREQUIPA – COLCA (EXCURSION FOR 2D / 1N – AO COLCA CANYON)

We will begin our journey on the way to Yura through the Chachani Skirts, Pampa Arrieros, to enter Pampa Cañahuas, where we can enjoy the slender slips of the vicuña. We continue through Vizcachani, Pampas de Toccra, where we will appreciate a large number of migratory birds as local, and then we will delimit the Chucura crater to reach Patapampa (4,800 masl), we will arrive at the Mirador de los Andes or known as Mirador de los Volcanes , where we can observe the volcanoes of Chachani, Misti and Pichu Pichu that are those that surround the city of Arequipa, then we will descend to the city of Chivay for lunch (on behalf of Pax). DAY 03: COLCA – AREQUIPA – CUSCO

DAY 04: CUSCO – CITY TOUR NEAR AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL CENTERS

Arrival in Cusco Reception at the bus station and transfer to the hotel chosen by a representative of our travel agency. Sacred Valley

Hidden beneath the tawny foothills of formidable hills, the beautiful Urubamba River Valley, known as the Sacred Valley.

Pisac – Pisac is located 33 kilometers from the city of Cusco (and is known as the gateway to the Sacred Valley). It is known to have served as an administrative checkpoint. It is believed to be one of the most important archaeological sites in Peru and South America.

Chinchero – Chinchero is located 28 kilometres from the city of Cusco. It is one of the highest points in the valley: 3,772 metres above sea level (12,375 ft), where the palace of the emperor Tupac Yupanqui once stood, but which was destroyed by the Spaniards.

 In its place they built the colonial church of Nuestra Señora de Monserrat. This church, built in the 17th century, includes canvases of the ‘Cusco School’. The town is also famous for its handicraft market where bartering is still practised.

Maras – Maras is famous for its proximity to hundreds of salt wells that form a spectacular landscape. In Maras you can see more than 5 thousand salt extraction wells built during the Inca period. The salt mines of Maras are one of the four places in the world where pink salt can be obtained. The villagers sell this salt in the main markets of Cusco.

Moray – Moray is located 74 kilometres from the city of Cusco and is home to the famous Inca circular terraces. This set of concentric circular terraces gives the sensation of being an artificial crater. Moray was one of the main ‘agricultural research centres’ of the Inca empire. It was dedicated to the experimentation and sowing of crops from different places.

The different climates and altitudinal levels were constructed with the intention of making it possible to grow crops from the coast and jungle in cold climates.

History of the Citadel of Machu Picchu – Machupicchu

This ancient Inca city known as Machu Picchu or Machupicchu, is one of Peru’s most precious treasures. It was built in the middle of the 15th century and it is believed that it was one of the residences of the ninth Inca of the Tahuantinsuyo, Pachacutec,

DIA 01: Recepción en Lima

DIA 03: Lima, Paracas y Nazca

• Pasaremos a recogerte al hotel a las  03:45 am para dirigirnos al terminal y abordar el bus con dirección a Paracas
• Una vez allí, se embarcará en un paseo en bote a motor hacia las Islas Ballestas. Durante el recorrido, se podrá observar la famosa figura del “Candelabro” tallada en la arena y la diversa vida marina, como leones marinos, pájaros bobos, pelícanos, pingüinos, entre otros.
• Después de la excursión, se tendrá tiempo libre para tomar fotografías de los lobos marinos, focas y aves marinas en la Península de Paracas.
• Luego, se emprenderá el viaje hacia la ciudad de Ica para el city tour. Durante el tour se visitará la plaza de armas de Ica, la catedral de la ciudad y el museo regional.
• También se visitará una bodega vitivinícola y el restaurante “El Catador”, donde se podrá degustar el vino local y la comida peruana.
• La siguiente parada será en la Laguna de la Huacachina, un oasis impresionante en medio del desierto rodeado de dunas de arena, palmeras y árboles de Huarangos. Allí se podrá relajar, disfrutar del paisaje y, si se desea, practicar sandboarding.

• Luego, se abordará una avioneta para sobrevolar las misteriosas líneas el sobrevuelo será de 35 minutos, se podrán observar hasta 12 figuras, incluyendo animales como la ballena, el mono, el cóndor y el colibrí, figuras geométricas como los trapezoides, y otras enigmáticas como el astronauta, las manos y el árbol.
• Finalizando la visita de Nazca nos dirigimos al terminal para poder aborar el bus y retornar a Lima
• Una vez que lleguemos al terminal de Lima nuestro el conductor les estará esperando para llevarlos al hotel

DIA 05: Lima – Cusco City Tour

HORA DE RECOJO DEL HOTEL: 13:30 PM – 13:45 PM

• Este día a la hora indicada nuestro transporte pasará por nuestro hotel para recogerlos y llevarlos al aeropuerto de lima  para  abordar el avión con dirección a Cusco.
• Nuestro equipo de TOP INKA TRAVEL, les esperando en el aeropuerto de Cusco para llevarlos al hotel, Realizaremos el check-in y se acomodaran en sus respectivas habitaciones.
• Pasaremos a recogerte a las 1:00 pm del hotel para realizar el city tour. Durante el city tour, visitaremos cinco atractivos turísticos: Sacsayhuamán, Puka Pukara, Q’enqo, Tambomachay y Qoricancha. Nuestro tour culminará a las 6:30 pm.

DIA 06: Valle Sagrado de los Incas

HORA DE RECOJO DEL HOTEL: 7:40 AM – 8:00 AM

• Comenzaremos con el recojo en su hotel y nos dirigiremos al centro arqueológico de Pisaq, ubicado en la cima de la montaña más alta del pueblo del mismo nombre. Disfrutará de una visita guiada y luego visitaremos el mercado artesanal.
• Continuaremos nuestro viaje hacia la ciudad de Urubamba, pasando por pintorescos pueblos tradicionales en el camino y otros lugares de gran belleza natural. Aquí haremos una parada para almorzar.
• Luego, nos dirigiremos al pueblo de Ollantaytambo y visitaremos su complejo arqueológico. Después de la visita, nos dirigiremos a la estación de tren de Ollantaytambo para abordar el tren que nos llevará al pueblo de Aguas Calientes, donde nuestro transfer estará esperando para llevarlo a su hotel.
• En la noche nuestra guía pasara por su hotel para darle un briefing para el tour del día siguiente.

DIA 07: Machu Picchu Full Day

HORA DE RECOJO DEL HOTEL: 6:30 AM – 7:00 AM

• Nos encontraremos con la guia para tomar el bus de consettur y subir al santuario de Machupicchu
• Ingresaremos a Machupicchu a las 9 AM y tendremos una visita guiada de 2h y 30 minutos.
• Terminada la visita retornaremos en el bus de Consettur en el pueblo de aguas calientes para dirigirnos a nuestro almuerzo
• Por la tarde nos dirigimos al estacion de tren (aguas calientes), abordamos el tren y retornaremos a Ollantaytambo y un personal de la agencia nos estara esperando para retornar a la ciudad de Cusco
• Estaremos llegando aprox. A las 20:00 pm

DIA 08: Salineras de Maras y Moray

HORA DE RECOJO DEL HOTEL: 8:00 AM – 8:20 AM

• comenzamos con el recojo de su hotel para dirigirnos al distrito de Maras, en este lugar visitaremos su plaza principal y sus calles. Tendremos la oportunidad de disfrutar de la Chicha, bebida típica de la zona.
• Continuaremos el viaje y llegaremos a la zona arqueológica de Moray, importante sistema de construcción agrícola, pasaremos mucho tiempo aquí. Luego bajaremos a la Salineras de Maras (minas de sal).
•  Finalmente regresaremos a la ciudad de Cusco y estaremos llegando a las 14:00PM.

DIA 09: Laguna Humantay

HORA DE RECOJO DEL HOTEL: 4:30 AM – 4:50 AM

• Este día comenzaremos con el recojo de su hotel para dirigirnos al pueblo de Mollepata un aprox. de 2h de viaje para degustar nuestro delicio desayuno.
• Luego viajaremos en carro 1 hora más hasta llegar al puesto de control Soraypampa e iniciar la caminata.
• Al llegar a la Laguna  (4200 msnm.) nuestro guía nos dará una explicación tendremos tiempo para tomarnos fotografías.
• retornaremos por el mismo camino hasta el punto donde iniciamos la caminata) donde nuestro transporte estará esperando para llevarnos de retorno hasta Mollepata para disfrutar del almuerzo.
• Estaremos llegando a la ciudad de Cusco aprox. 18:00 pm

DIA 10: El Valle Sur del Cusco

• Comenzamos con el recojo de su hotel para luego dirigirnos al sur
• Visitaremos 2 complejos arqueológico de época inca: complejo arqueológico de pikillacta, tipon y 1 templo colonias la mas antigua de Sudamérica la capilla Sixtina de Andahuaylillas.
• Nuestro tour estará culminando un promedio de las 14:00 pm

DIA 11: Montaña de Colores

HORA DE RECOJO DEL HOTEL: 6:30 AM – 6:45 AM

• Este día comenzaremos con el recojo de su hotel para dirigirnos al pueblo de Cusipata un aprox. de 2h de viaje para degustar nuestro delicio desayuno
• luego viajaremos en carro 1 hora más hasta llegar al puesto de control e iniciar la caminata
• Al llegar al mirador de Vinincunca o Montaña de Colores (5200 msnm.) nuestro guía nos dará una explicación sobre la orografía, ecosistema
• retornaremos por el mismo camino hasta el punto donde iniciamos la caminata (Llaqto) donde nuestro transporte estará esperando para llevarnos de retorno hasta Cusipata, donde disfrutaremos del almuerzo.
• Estaremos llegando a la ciudad de Cusco aprox. 17:00 pm
• En la noche aprox 21:00 pm te trasladaremos del hotel al terminal terrestre con dirección a puno

DIA 12: Puno – Chullpas de Sillustani

HORA DE RECOJO DEL HOTEL: 13:40 PM – 14:00 PM

• Comenzara con el recojo en su hotel visitaremos el centro ceremonial de sillustani, son torres funerarias para albergar para albergar los restos funerarios de los principales pobladores del Collao.
• Visitaremos la chullpa del lagarto es la torre funeraria mas alta del lugar alado esta el se encuentra el lago Umayo un increíble espejo de agua que refleja las nubes Blas y el cielo azul.
• Luego retornaremos a Puno y estaremos llegando aprox. a las 17:00 pm.
• Noche de hotel en Puno

DIA 13: Los Uros – Isla Amantani

HORA DE RECOJO DEL HOTEL: 7:20 AM – 7:40 AM

• Comenzaremos con el recojo de su hotel para dirigirnos al puerto y empezar nuestra aventura en el lago Titicaca.
• Visitaremos las islas flotantes los Uros luego nos dirigimos a la isla Amantani donde un miembro de una familia local nos estará esperando para llevarnos a almorzar.
• En la tarde podrá subir a la cima de la montaña para poder observar el atardecer y en la noche disfrutaremos de una cena hecha por los miembros de la familia.
• Por la tarde nos dirigimos al terminal terrestre de Puno para retornar a la Ciudad de Cusco.
• Pernocte en una vivienda local.

DIA 14: Isla Taquile – Puno

HORA DE RECOJO DEL HOTEL: 6:50 AM – 7:10 AM

• Este día iniciaremos con un delicioso desayuno preparado por la familia para después despedirnos y continuar nuestro viaje hacia la isla de Taquile 1h de viaje en vote.
• En la isla de Taquile visitaremos el pueblo, el mercado artesanal  y al medio día tendremos un almuerzo con vista espectacular del lago Titi Caca
• Luego retornaremos a Puno y estaremos llegando alrededor de las 17:00 pm
• Por la tarde tomaremos el bus para retornar a Cusco

DIA 15: Puno- City Tour en Arequipa

HORA DE RECOJO DEL HOTEL: 13:20 PM – 13:40 PM

• Iniciaremos con el recojo en su hotel para dirigirnos al terminal terrestre para dirigirnos a Arequipa
• Les estaremos esperando en el terminal terrestre para llevarlos al hotel
• En la tarde tendremos el City tour en Arequipa visitaremos: Mirador de Carmen alto, Monasterio de Santa Catalina, Convento de la compañía de Jesús, Basílica Catedral, Yanahuara

DIA 16: Arequipa – Chivay

HORA DE RECOJO DEL HOTEL: 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM

• Comenzaremos con el recojo de su hotel y nos dirigiremos al pueblo de Chivay pampa cañahuas en donde podremos apreciar vicuñas que habitan en la zona.
• Haremos paradas en bofedales de tocra y mirador de los volcanes el punto mas alto del trayecto ante de llegar a Chivay
• Llegaremos al mediodía a Chivay para poder almorzar y acomodarnos en nuestros respectivos hoteles
• En la tarde disfrutaremos de los baños termales y en la noche disfrutaremos de un show folclórico

DIA 17: Chivay – Cañón de Colca

• Este día pasaremos a recogerte al hotel y nos dirigiremos al mirador del cóndor.
• En este punto estaremos un promedio de 45 minutos para poder observar la belleza del cañón del Colca y el vuelo de los cóndores.
• De retorno haremos paradas donde observaremos las andenerías del valle
• Al medio día tenemos un almuerzo buffet en Chivay
• Luego retornaremos hacia Arequipa

DIA 18: Traslado del Hotel – Aeropuerto

• Este día después tomar desayuno en el hotel a hora indicada el transfer pasara por nuestro hotel para conducirnos al aeropuerto y abordar el avión con destino a la ciudad de Lima, el check-out del hotel es a las 10 Am (pueden dejar sus maletas hasta la hora de su viaje).

Arequipa: Así se vive la procesión móvil de la Virgen de Chapi en Miraflores (VIDEO)

Recorrido se hace por las calles de la jurisdicción miraflorina y decenas acompañan la imagen.

Decenas de peregrinos siguen la imagen de la Virgen de Chapi que recorre las calles del distrito de Miraflores, en Arequipa, en un vehículo. Esta procesión se da poco del día central, como es el 1 de mayo.

La procesión móvil fue organizada por los integrantes de la parroquia Nuestra Señora de Chapi y se partió a 7:30 horas de la sede religiosa, en donde es resguardada durante todo el año.

Según el programa, la imagen de la mamita de Chapi visitará los hogares de los miraflorinos pasando por casi todas las calles de la jurisdicción.

Muchos vecinos, que no pueden acompañar la procesión, esperaron en sus puertas para recibir la bendición. Un gran inconveniente, que pudo ser resuelto por los vecinos, fueron los cables de electricidad y telefonía.

La parroquia tiene otras actividades para los siguientes días, por ejemplo, la Entrada de Ceras se hará el 30 de abril, partiendo desde la capilla Señor de la Sentencia, ubicada en la cuadra 22 de la avenida Goyeneche, desde las 18: horas.

Se informó que el párroco, padre Julio Herrera junto a todo el Concejo Pastoral han previsto, poner la imagen la Virgen de Chapi en el atrio de la Parroquia el día 1 de mayo, donde permanecerá todo el día para ser visitada por todos sus fieles devotos.
