Taylor Swift has smashed the all-time revenue record for a single tour by a country artist with the final stats reported from her Red tour that played arenas and stadiums in four continents during a 15-month span.  According to Billboard’s Boxscore archives, the tour’s overall gross of $150 million surpasses the prior country artist record held by double-billed Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Soul2Soul tour that brought in $141 million during 2006 and 2007.

Gracie Abrams' 'The Secret Of Us' Blasts to No. 1 In Australia

The Red tour, which tops the weekly Hot Tours ranking, began last year on March 13 in Omaha, Neb. and ran for six months in North America before closing with a three-show stand in Nashville in September. In November and December, Swift traveled Down Under for a five-city jaunt through Australia and New Zealand to close out the year.  She performed in London and Berlin in February to kick off the tour’s 2014 schedule, and the final trek covered six cities in Asia, beginning with a May 30 performance in Shanghai and ending on June 12 with a final concert in Singapore.  The Red tour’s final box office counts total $150,184,971 in revenue from 1,702,933 sold tickets at 86 performances in 12 countries.

Swift’s tour itinerary included 15 stadiums worldwide during its run.  Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. topped the list with the best box office results during the tour.  The home stadium of the NFL’s New England Patriots produced the highest gross and attendance counts with $9.4 million in sales from 110,712 fans at two shows last summer (July 26-27). This is the third time the stadium has featured the country superstar in a headlining tour performance.  She also played Gillette in 2010 on her Fearless tour as well as the Speak Now outing the following year.  Among stadiums that hosted the tour for a single performance, Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field claims the top gross and attendance counts with $4.7 million from a sellout crowd of 56,047 on July 6, 2013.

Trending on Billboard

Box office results from arena performances on the Red tour place London’s O2 Arena ahead of the pack with the highest gross and attendance numbers. The London venue recorded $5.8 million in sales from 74,740 tickets sold during its five-show run (Feb. 1-2, 4, 10-11).  Among the arenas that brought in the tour for just one performance, the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai tops the list based on sales of $1.8 million.  The best attendance for a single performance was recorded in Fargo, North Dakota.  Swift played the Fargodome on Sept. 6, 2013 with a capacity crowd of 21,073.

Rock veterans Journey and Steve Miller Band take the No. 2 Hot Tours ranking this week with $8.3 in box office sales reported from their ongoing co-headlining tour.  Since kicking off on May 15, the summertime trek, primarily booked at outdoor amphitheaters, has grossed more than $17 million at 24 concerts.  With Tower of Power on board as special guest, the tour will continue in North American markets through early August.

Pop star Katy Perry lands at No. 3 on the list of top-grossing touring artists with the first totals reported from her Prismatic world tour’s North American leg that began on June 22 in North Carolina.  The first four venues during the summer schedule produced $7.8 million in sales from 66,542 fans at sellouts in Raleigh, Washington, D.C., Nashville and Atlanta.  The 16-week run through U.S. and Canadian cities will bring the six-time Billboard Music Award winner to 47 arenas in North America through mid-October.  Dates in Mexico, Australia and New Zealand are on the books for the remainder of the year, and a second trek through Europe will begin next February.  The tour’s first European leg hit nine cities in the U.K. back in May.

Table of contents, background and development.

«The visuals portrayed on this tour will be, I guess, more grown-up and a little bit more mature than things we’ve done in the past. I think on my previous albums and my previous tours, I’ve really liked to operate in the element of fantasy, and I think that this tour incorporates a little bit more reality into the visuals, which is nice.» Taylor Swift

the red world tour

"The RED Tour" was the third concert tour by Taylor. Launched in support of her fourth studio album, " RED " (2012), the tour began on March 13, 2013 in Omaha, Nebraska, and concluded on June 12, 2014 in Singapore. This was the first tour by Taylor to extend to Muslim countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia.

"RED" was full of sonic shockers, so it was only natural for the eponymous supporting tour to match. By this point in her career, Taylor was “feelin’ 22,” and made her growth clear by entering the stage to Lenny Kravitz’s “American Woman” (having previously used Tom Petty’s “American Girl”). Before embarking on the "RED Tour" alongside opening act Ed Sheeran, Taylor told Billboard she intended for the tour to “be a big representation of this record.”

The "RED Tour" was flashy, incorporated circus elements and took full advantage of the stadiums that had now become the norm for her concerts, and was highly well-received critically. It also smashed the record for all-time revenue for a single tour by a country artist (even though most would probably agree she had fled the country coop by then).

On October 25, 2012, in partnership with ABC News on the prime-time TV special "All Access Nashville with Katie Couric -- A Special Edition of 20/20", Taylor announced that she will launch a North American stadium and arena tour in early 2013 in support of her fourth studio album " RED " (2012). During a radio interview with WRVW, she mentioned that "it's nothing like any other tour before."

Taylor told Billboard:

"Of course, you know the tour will be a big representation of this record. I'm so excited to see what songs the fans like the most and which ones jump to the forefront, because that's the first step. We always see which songs are really the passionate songs and the ones the fans are freaking out over the most, and those are the ones that are definitely in the set list. I can't wait for that." -- Taylor Swift

Taylor had used Tom Petty's "American Girl" as her entrance song on her previous tour but now took the stage to Lenny Kravitz's version of "American Woman". Every night, she sang a cover of The Lumineers's "Ho Hey", intertwined with her own "Stay Stay Stay".

the red world tour

Seeing Taylor live in 2013 was seeing a maestro at the top of her or anyone’s game. No other pop auteur could touch her for emotional excess or musical reach. The red sequins on her guitar matched the ones on her microphone, her shoes and 80 percent of the crowd. Her set was mostly new songs from "RED", one of the slickest, smartest and just plain best mega-pop statements of our time. “Hi, I’m Taylor,” she said by way of an introduction. “I write songs about my feelings. I’m told I have a lot of feelings.”

Nobody could touch her for fan hysteria, either. The audience was part of the show, with their homemade red costumes, placards, Lite Brite codes and more glowsticks than an Inspiral Carpets reunion. For most of them, Taylor was the first girl they’ve seen play a guitar, a signifier that cannot be denied. Once the lights went out, the screaming never flagged, and neither did the star.  But the best moment was the double-shot of “I Knew You Were Trouble” into “All Too Well.” Taylor turned “Trouble” into a blast of razzle-dazzle choreography in fancy-dress masquerade-ball mode. Then she sat alone to play “All Too Well,” her most majestic ballad, just a girl and her piano and several thousand other girls singing along. It was the highlight of a show that was nothing  but  highlights.

Seeing Taylor onstage then was witnessing a level of total commitment, total fan fervor, total connection between audience and performer. No other performer really hit that pitch of happy/free/confused/lonely hormonal anguish with so much wit and empathy. Her moods are her universe and expressing them is the reason the universe exists. This is a useful conviction for a singer to have, even if it’s more dangerous for the rest of us. But Taylor wore it like a true arena-rock goddess at an amazing peak.

SECRET SONG

Every night, Taylor would sing a secret song -- an acoustic version of one of her old songs. Fans could suggest songs online through Twitter and Facebook and Taylor would sing the most requested one. Sometimes she sang a song that a fan from the pre-show Meet & Greet wanted to hear.

Taylor became the first solo female artist in 20 years to headline a national stadium tour through Australia, with the last being Madonna's "The Girlie Show World Tour" in 1993. Swift performed to a crowd of over 40,900 fans at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia, becoming the first female artist in history to sell out the stadium since it was opened in 1988.

"The RED Tour" also became the highest-grossing tour by a country artist in history, bringing in an overall gross of $150 million surpassing the prior country artist record held by double-billed Tim McGraw and Faith Hill "Soul2Soul II Tour" that brought in $141 million.

Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans standing in the middle of a tropical bar in a shot from Red One

In ‘Red One’ Trailer, a Kidnapped Santa Is Going To Ruin the World Tour

Image of Jinal Bhatt

Ever pictured Santa Claus as a gym bro? You might not have to use your imagination for very long. Come November, you’ll see it in Red One , a holiday action comedy starring Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, and a very ripped J.K. Simmons as Santa (again)!

Red One is directed by Jake Kasdan, with screenplay by Chris Morgan and story by Hiram Garcia. The trailer for Red One has dropped, and the very first shot has Dwayne Johnson spotting J.K. Simmons as he works out in a tank jersey. That’s how you reel ‘em in, right? And we haven’t even gotten to the best part yet—Simmons is Nick, or rather St. Nicholas of Myra, a.k.a. Santa Claus. And it’s the second time he’s playing Santa, having voiced him in the animated Klaus (2019).

What’s the plot of Red One ?

Well, as ripped as Santa is, he gets kidnapped from the North Pole Complex, and it looks like this is going to ruin the world tour. But not if these two guys can help it! Dwayne Johnson is Callum Drift, the commander of the E.L.F. Task Force charged with retrieving Santa so that Christmas doesn’t have to be canceled. But he can’t do it alone. He’s going to have to pair up with the world’s best tracker, Jack O’Malley, who happens to be an infamous name on Santa’s Naughty List.

The Red One Trailer is One Big Red Sack of Gags

From the trailer, Red One looks like a mix of a buddy-cop action comedy with the fantasy elements of a Christmas movie. There’s a talking polar bear, snowmen that are actually henchmen going after Drift and O’Malley, gigantic magical creatures that need to be fought, and there’s also a Krampus!

And of course, there’s banter, lots of banter, between Johnson and Evans’ characters, including a joke involving Wonder Woman with extra implications because Johnson is DC’s Black Adam and Evans played Captain America in the MCU.

The Red One movie cast

Lucy Liu, stands, dressed in all black, in a shot from Red One movie

You’ve already seen J.K. Simmons, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, and Lucy Liu in the trailer, but there’s more to the movie’s cast. Red One also stars Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Kristofer Hivju, Nick Kroll, and Wesley Kimmel.

What is the release date for Red One ?

Red One will release just in time for a good holiday season watch, exclusively in theaters on November 15, 2024.

Sexyy Red dances onstage with a microphone in hand.

Consider the 2024 election officially a three-party race.

Budding Hip-Hop icon Sexyy Red just threw her hat into the ring, announcing the ‘Sexyy Red 4 President Tour’ that will send her and special guests Hunxho , Loe Shimmy, BlakeIANA and another unnamed special guest to arenas all over North America from August through October.

The tour is presumably in support of her recently released, not quite politically-inspired album “In Sexyy We Trust.”

Sexyy New York fans need not worry either.

While on the campaign trail, the 26-year-old rapper will stump at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

“WE POPPING OUT AND TURNING TF UP,” she shared on Instagram .

If you can’t wait to pop out and turn up with this year’s most electric candidate, tickets are available for all Sexyy Red concerts as of today.

Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming ‘Sexyy Red 4 President’ shows on sites like Vivid Seats ; the official on-sale is Friday, June 28.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Sexyy Red tour schedule 2024

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues and links to buy tickets can be found below.

Sexyy Red 2024 festival appearances

Prior to the tour’s launch, Sexyy will headline at a pair of festivals.

For a closer look at what to expect from the multi-day music extravaganzas, here are the essential details you need about Sexyy Red’s 2024 festival appearances:

Sexxy Red set list

Sexyy Red’s last non-festival gig was on April 5 in Jacksonville, FL.

According to Set List FM , here’s what she took to the stage that night:

01.) “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad)” 02.) “Hood Rats” 03.) “Shake Yo Dreads” 04.) “Get It Sexyy” 05.) “I Don’t Wanna Be Saved” 06.) “I’m the S***” 07.) “Peaches & Eggplants” (Young Nudy cover) 08.) “Mad at Me” 09.) “SHAKE SUMN” (DaBaby cover) 10.) “Looking For The Hoes (Ain’t My Fault)” 11.) “Hellcats SRTs” 12.) “SkeeYee” 13.) “Rich Baby Daddy” (Drake cover) 14.) “Get It Sexyy” 15.) “Pound Town” 16.) “Sexyy Walk”

Sexyy Red new music

On May 24, Sexxy Red dropped her third mixtape “In Sexyy We Trust.”

Comprised of 14 tracks, the album goes hard all the way through with club-ready trap beats and sticky, NSFW rhymes that will rattle around in your head for days.

Standout tracks include the anthemic “Get It Sexyy,” smooth, danceable “Fake Jammin'” and throwback bop “Outside.”

Make sure to stay until the end, too; that’s when Sexyy drops the likely soon-to-be birthday party staple “It’s My Birthday.”

Need to give the mixtape a spin? You can listen to “In Sexxy We Trust” in its entirety here .

Sexyy Red special guests

At all shows, Sexyy will be joined by an opening act or two.

To make sure you’re familiar with their sounds, you can find each artist’s most-streamed track on Spotify below.

Hunxho: “Let’s Get It”

Loe Shimmy: “4 AM at Coffee Zone”

BlakeIANA: “BING BONG”

(FOX40.COM) — The City of Roseville is getting ready to roll out the red carpet for railroad royalty as Big Boy No. 4014 prepares its Summer 2024 tour. • Video Above: I-5 Northern California undergoes emergency conditions

In April, FOX40 reported that Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest operating steam locomotive will be making a day-long stop in Roseville as part of the “Big Boy Westward Bound” tour.

As one of the premier railroad cities on the West Coast and hosting the largest rail yard in the West, Roseville is dipping into its rail heritage with special events and exhibits.

Big Boy is scheduled to arrive in Roseville on July 12 and the city will be kicking off its events at 9 a.m. on July 13.

At the Vernon Street Town Square, in the heart of downtown Roseville, there will be live music, food trucks, a splash pad, a farmers market and a kid’s zone.

Special old west performances will also be carried out by the Black Flag Gang, who has also performed during “Gold Rush Days” in Old Sacramento, Colfax Railroad Days and the Folsom Railfest.

In Roseville’s historic old town district, the Carnegie Museum will be hosting a special exhibit on the Big Boy.

The Roseville Historical Society, housed in the Carnegie Museum, has several items related to Roseville’s decades-long rail history, including shrapnel from the 1973 railyard explosion.

Six climate protesters run onto 18th green and spray powder, delaying finish of PGA Tour event

CROMWELL, Conn. (AP) — Six climate protesters stormed the 18th green while the leaders were lining up their putts for the final hole of regulation at the PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship on Sunday, spraying smoke and powder and delaying the finish for about five minutes.

The protesters waved smoke bombs that left white and red residue on the putting surface before Scottie Scheffler, Tom Kim and Akshay Bhatia finished their rounds. Some wore white T-shirts with the words “NO GOLF ON A DEAD PLANET” in black lettering on the front.

“I was scared for my life,” Bhatia said. “I didn’t even really know what was happening. ... But thankfully the cops were there and kept us safe, because that’s, you know, that’s just weird stuff.”

The PGA Tour issued a statement thanking the Cromwell Police Department “for their quick and decisive action” and noting that there was no damage to the 18th green that affected either the end of regulation or the playoff hole.

Scheffler, who was arrested during a traffic stop at the PGA Championship , also praised the officers.

“From my point of view, they got it taken care of pretty dang fast, and so we were very grateful for that,” said Scheffler, the world’s No. 1 player, who beat Kim on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff for his sixth victory of the year.

Image

“When something like that happens, you don’t really know what’s happening, so it can kind of rattle you a little bit,” Scheffler said. “That can be a stressful situation, and you would hate for the tournament to end on something weird happening because of a situation like that. I felt like Tom and I both tried to calm each other down so we could give it our best shot there on 18.”

Extinction Rebellion, an activist group with a history of disrupting events around the world, claimed responsibility for the protest. In a statement emailed to The Associated Press, the group blamed climate change for an electrical storm that injured two people at a home near the course on Saturday.

“This was of course due to increasingly unpredictable and extreme weather conditions,” the statement said. “Golf, more than other events, is heavily reliant on good weather. Golf fans should therefore understand better than most the need for strong, immediate climate action.”

After the protesters were tackled by police and taken off, Scheffler left a potential 26-foot clincher from the fringe on the right edge of the cup, then tapped in for par. Kim, who trailed by one stroke heading into the final hole, sank a 10-foot birdie putt to tie Scheffler and force the playoff.

Kim said the protest took his mind off the pressure.

“It kind of slowed things down,” he said. “It took the meaning of the putt away for a second. Because for the past 17 and a half holes all you’re thinking about is golf, and suddenly when that happens your mind goes into a complete — like, you’re almost not even playing golf anymore. I thought it was a dream for a second.”

The crowd surrounding the 18th green heckled the protesters by yelling profanities and cheered the police who intervened. After the players putted out in regulation, workers with leaf blowers came out to clean off the remaining powder.

The hole location was moved for the playoff, which was also on No. 18. Scheffler parred the first hole of sudden death to win.

“They left a lot of marks on the greens, which is not right for us players — especially when two guys are trying to win a golf tournament,” Kim said. “But I’m very grateful for the tour and the tour security for handling that really well and making us players feel a lot safer.”
