Lionel Richie will make a highly anticipated return to Eden in 2023 following his two sell-out shows here in July 2016. The concerts were hailed as among the greatest in the history of the Sessions. The special guest will be iconic British singer-songwriter Gabrielle.

About the band

Hailing from Tuskegee, Alabama, Lionel Richie is a true music icon famous worldwide for mega-hits such as Endless Love, Lady, Truly, All Night Long, Penny Lover, Stuck on You, Hello, Say You, Say Me, and Dancing on the Ceiling, and co-wrote one of the most important pop songs in history, We Are the World, for USA for Africa.  

His acclaimed song catalogue also includes his early work with The Commodores, where he developed a ground-breaking style that defied genre categories, penning smash hits such as Three Times a Lady, Still, and Easy.  

This year (2022) Lionel Richie received the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song by the Library of Congress and was nominated to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  

He has also been a judge on ABC’s American Idol for the past five seasons. He launched his Las Vegas headlining residency show, Lionel Richie - All the Hits in April 2016.  

In an unforgettable evening featuring his brightest and best anthems which have defined the music icon’s unparalleled career, Lionel Richie recently extended his Back to Las Vegas residency with a 12-show engagement.

Gabrielle is special guest at Lionel Richie Eden Session – June 7, 2023

The Eden Project announced today that iconic British singer-songwriter Gabrielle will join superstar Lionel Richie as a special guest in what promises to be a memorable Eden Session on June 7, 2023.

The show comes as Gabrielle celebrates 30 years since the release of her debut single Dreams which spent three weeks at number one in the summer of 1993.

Her second number one single, Rise, followed in 2000 and was embraced by fans as an anthem that helped inspire them to keep the faith that better days would follow.

Gabrielle’s catalogue of hits includes a further eight Top 10 hits, notably Out Of Reach which featured in Bridget Jones’s Diary, If You Ever with East 17 and Give Me A Little More Time.

That success extended to albums too. Her 1999 number one album Rise was one of the most successful of the era and has been certified 4 x Platinum, a status matched by the compilation Dreams Can Come True, Greatest Hits. In total, six of her albums have reached the Top 10, including 2018’s Under My Skin.

Gabrielle’s popularity was matched by a succession of major awards. Highlights included BRIT Awards for Best British Female and Best British Breakthrough as well as MOBO Awards for Best Single for Give Me A Little More Time and Best Album for Rise.

After being nominated on five separate occasions, she won her first Ivor Novello Award in 2008 when she was honoured with the prestigious accolade for Outstanding Song Collection.

After earning a new generation of fans during her show-stealing performances on the 2021 edition of The Masked Singer, Gabrielle’s resurgence continued when her album Do It Again flew into the charts at number four - her highest chart position in almost 20 years. Gabrielle’s well-deserved era of rediscovery continues.

In July (2022), Gabrielle joined Adele as special guest at her two huge sold-out BST Hyde Park shows. Adele personally chose Gabrielle for both shows, in the process cementing their shared mutual admiration.

Also announced to play this year’s Eden Sessions are viral rock sensation Yungblud (June 10), top USA rockers The War on Drugs (June 18), much-loved American singer-songwriter Jack Johnson (June 23) and the iconic Pet Shop Boys (June 28).

In September 2019 the Eden Project and global live events company AEG Presents announced a new partnership, Eden Sessions Ltd, to run the Eden Sessions.

In September 2021 Volvo Car UK announced a new three-year partnership as the Official Automotive Partner of the Eden Project and the Eden Sessions music concerts, a deal brokered by AEG Global Partnerships.

These smash hits have seen Gabriella win two BRITs (Best British Female and Best British Breakthrough) and an impressive selection of other prominent awards. Party With Lionel Richie, Sugababes and Gabrielle at Chepstow Racecourse

Get ready to party All Night Long as international pop legend Lionel Richie is heading to Chepstow Racecourse next summer.

The music superstar will perform hits from his extensive and much-loved repertoire including Three Times A Lady, Truly, Say You Say Me and All Night Long as he brings his sensational live show to the venue on Friday, June 30, as part of a weekend of special gigs.

Lionel Richie has sold more than 125 million albums worldwide and is also the proud recipient of an Oscar®, a Golden Globe® and four Grammy Awards®. Earlier this year he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

And to make the evening even more special, Lionel Richie will be joined on the night with support from chart topping pop trio Sugababes, award-winning hitmaker Gabrielle and blues, soul, and rock artist Kevin Davy White.

News of Multi-award-winning Lionel, who also counts Hello and Dancing on The Ceiling among his greatest hits, follows a previous announcement that Gold Rush Kid George Ezra will close the weekend on Sunday, July 2. Further announcements will be made in the coming weeks.

‘Summer (The First Time)’: Bobby Goldsboro Remembers A Hot Afternoon

Richie will bring his dazzling live show to the 10,000-capacity Great Court at Blenheim Palace on Wednesday June 14, 2023 for what will be his first trip to the UK since 2019. More names for next year’s series will be announced in due course.

Lionel Richie said in a statement: “I’m really looking forward to heading to Blenheim Palace next summer. The UK crowds are some of the best in the world and I can’t wait to get back over there to see you all!”

The Nocturne Live concert series, which since its inception in 2015 has featured performances from the likes of Elton John , Kylie Minogue, Gary Barlow, Simply Red, Nile Rodgers, Noel Gallagher, Gregory Porter , Van Morrison, Tears for Fears , Gladys Knight, Elvis Costello , Simple Minds and Ennio Morricone amongst many others, runs from June 14th – 18th 2023.

Tickets for Lionel Richie start at £54 and go on sale at 9am on Friday November 4. Pre-sale begins at 9am on Tuesday, November 1.

Legendary singer-songwriter Lionel Richie is bringing his Sing A Song All Night Long Tour this summer to T-Mobile Center. 

Richie, who has sold over 125 million albums, will be joined by multiplatinum superstars Earth, Wind and Fire when they make a stop on June 6 in Kansas City. 

Richie's music catalogue includes smash hits such as “Endless Love,” “Lady,” “Truly,” “All Night Long,” “Penny Lover,” “Stuck on You,” “Hello,” “Say You, Say Me,” and “Dancing on the Ceiling.”
