I'd been looking for a hardtail mountain bike for quite some time. I weighed up between other models and eventually settled on a Merida Big Nine SLX edition. I saw that the Marion store had one in stock and I made my way down. I only realised once I got there that it was Easter, and the shop floor was total chaos filled with customers! The shop assistants were run off their feet! Despite the chaos, and between serving customers, James made sure to greet me and let me know he'd be with me shortly. Once it was my turn, James made sure I was choosing the right bike for my style of riding, and the right size. I was able to go for a substantial test ride and once I was happy with the bike, James checked over the bike and made sure I knew how to adjust the air shocks, remove the wheels, and look after the bike in general. I'd picked out some pedals and thought I'd fit them once I got home but despite the chaos, James made the time to fit them for me! I didn't expect to have my new bike so soon but I'm so grateful that they were able to sort me out on the day. I've already been for two laps around Chamber's Gully (see picture below) and I couldn't be happier with the bike and service today. Cheers!

Ellse loves what she sells. A good shop is one where they recommend products they use themselves! Looking forwards to taking my new gravel tyres for a spin in local conditions! As a funny aside, the two customers to my left were been offered a mullet build, perhaps to go with the haircuts they were sporting.

Recently been getting my ebike serviced here. The business has recently changed owners and service is definitely better than before (not that it was too bad before it's just better now for sure). Multiple times these guys have gone above and beyond for me ultimately ending up with me being handed bills literally hundreds of dollars less than I am expecting/dreading. Recently even after I OK'd an expensive part to be ordered in the workshop/warranty manager (Michael) sensed my pain and went back to the supplier and was ultimately able to source a more suitable part hundreds of $ less. This is a guy who truly cares about customer service and looking after the customer and that is a big reason as to why I'm going out of my way to write this review. Good, local businesses like this one deserve our support !

Awesome customer service, super friendly staff and reasonable prices. Amazing bikes, with a wide selection of gear as well, they also do repairs and are extremely understanding. Definitely check it out for every bike need.

Olympic Silver Medallist Anna Henderson Joins Lidl-Trek through 2027

British time trial specialist set for exciting new chapter with Lidl-Trek

Lidl-Trek is proud to announce that Olympic silver medallist Anna Henderson has signed a three-year contract with the team, starting January 1st, 2025. Henderson’s move to Lidl-Trek follows her remarkable performance in the time trial at the Paris Games, marking a new phase in her blossoming cycling career.

Henderson, 25, originally pursued alpine skiing before switching to cycling after a serious injury in 2016. She quickly made her mark, winning the under-23 British Time Trial Championships in 2019, an early sign of her talent in the discipline. Over the past five years, Henderson has built an impressive palmarès, securing two elite National Championships, a European Championship silver medal, and, most recently, an Olympic silver medal – all in time trials.

Reflecting on her move to Lidl-Trek, Henderson explained, “My decision to change teams was motivated by a wish for new challenges and opportunities to grow as a rider. Lidl-Trek presented an interesting environment with strong support, a clear vision for my future, and a team dynamic that aligned with my professional and personal goals. Joining Lidl-Trek felt like the right step to continue developing my skills and contributing to a team that is focused on success. For a number of years I have admired the way the team race, more specifically their aggressive style of racing and really leaning on each other during the race.

“I’m feeling really positive about the move and excited for what lies ahead for the next 3 years. I’m particularly looking forward to working with a new group of teammates and staff, and I’m eager to see how we can push each other to achieve our goals. The fresh environment and different perspectives within Lidl-Trek are something I’m enthusiastic about, and I’m excited to contribute to the team’s ambitions and see how we can grow together.

“In my first year with Lidl-Trek, I’d like to contribute meaningfully to the team’s success, whether that’s through individual results, supporting my teammates, or helping the team achieve its overall goals. A successful year for me would be achieved by consistent performances, continued personal development, and playing a key role in the major races throughout the year, specifically in the spring one-day races and time-trials. I missed the whole of the 2024 spring calendar, so I am keen to get back into these races and show myself.
