Born in the South of France, I have been living in Marlborough with my wife and two children for the last 15 years and have spent the majority of my life in the hospitality and food industry, where I developed a passion for wine and food.

Using my extensive knowledge of the local area and wine industry, I have designed the following tours for you to enjoy while visiting Marlborough.

We'll visit those small wineries that are off the beaten track, wineries you probably have not heard of but offer arguably some of the best wine in the region.

On the full day tours, we will visit a total of 6 cellar doors and stop for a lunch break at one of the best restaurants in Marlborough.

On the half day tours, we will visit a total of 4 cellar doors but will not stop for lunch. It is highly recommended that you have lunch before starting the tour.

A visit of the Vines Village for a Gin or Whiskey & Cheese tasting and a cheeky chocolate indulgence at the Makana Chocolate factory are optional stops on this tour.

FULL DAY TOUR     $450/Adult (2 to 4 people max)

Pick up at 9.45am and returning to your accommodation around 5.30pm. (Lunch cost not included)

This tour will take you to our superb Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre. The Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre has combined a rare collection of WW1 and WW2 aircraft with creative display techniques to present a remarkable experience that captures the imagination. Omaka is a world-class destination for appreciating historic aircraft and sharing the stories of the men and women behind the machines.

Once the two parts of the museum have been completed, we will visit three wineries and indulge in some of the best wines that Marlborough has to offer.

1H will be allocated for lunch (cost not included).

All activities and tastings included.

This is a full day tour, designed for all of you that want to learn about and taste some of our region's best local products. This tour includes a couple of wine tasting at local wineries, visit to the Cranky Pantry where you will indulge in some locally made cheeses. We will travel to the Vines Village to taste some local honey and fudge, and of course a cheeky stop at the famous Makana Chocolate Factory on the way back to Blenheim, with our last stop being at Scotch Wine Bar for a Greenshell Mussel tasting. Gin tasting at the Gin Shack can be added to this tour if desired.

FULL DAY TOUR     $550/Adult (2 to 4 people max)

picton shore excursions

Whether you enjoy a scenic drive, a visit to our superb Omaka Aviation Museum, cheese tasting or simply want us to design a wine tour for you, on Shore Excursions, you will experience the best that Marlborough has to offer based of your preferences and the time available to you.

Here are some of the stops we can make on this tour:

- Wine Tasting at a couple (or more) Marlborough cellar doors of your choice (allow 45min per tasting)

- Visit to our world-class Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre  (allow 1H30)

- Drive to Havelock, Greenshell Mussels capital of the world, and have lunch at one of the local restaurants. This includes a drive back to Picton via the scenic Queen Charlotte Drive (allow 2H30)

- Scenic drive around the Marlborough Region with plenty of lookout stops for photos.

- For shorter excursion, Vines Village is a great stop, as it offers a range of activities such as coffee or lunch at Vines Café, wine tasting at Whitehaven, whiskey & cheese tasting at Cheese & Cheers, gin tasting at the Gin Shack and even the beautiful Quilters Barn for all of you fans of haberdashery.

Simply pick a staring time and a drop off time (minimum 1H before last shuttle)

This tour is only available to cruise ship passengers.

Marlborough Wine Tours has been showing off the spectacular wineries of the Marlborough Vineyards to both international and domestic groups for over 20 years. Marlborough is the premier wine region of New Zealand with over 70% of the vineyards in the country, and with good reason. Their Sauvignon Blanc wines are internationally recognised for their quality. Our tours of Marlborough wine country are the perfect way to explore the area while learning about its vineyards and of course, sampling the wine.

Marlborough Wine Tours Offers Full-day and Half-Day Trips of the Marlborough Vineyards

We have numerous wine tours at a variety of lengths. Half Day and all day tours to our Specialty NZ wine tours, please read more about each of the tours below. Our Marlborough Wine tours originate either from Blenheim, Picton, with return. We can pick you up from your accommodation in central areas. For those outside of the central area there may be a small surcharge for pick up.

Jade Tours is a small locally owned and operated wine tour company. We’re not just tour operators; we provide our clients with the benefit of 25 years combined experience in the grape growing, wine and hospitality industries.  Our tours are small i.e. a maximum of 10 people.

Join one of our flexible tours and enjoy some international award-winning wines and sample the delicious fare created by our wineries for a relaxing lunch, surrounded by vines. Boutique breweries and an artisan chocolate factory are also a favoured visit for our guests.

We offer daily small group tours ( guest pick-ups from Blenheim or Picton) with no rigid timetables. Our tours are fun , informative , flexible and personal .

Great day out - November 2018 We have just returned to our accommodation after a fantastic day with Highlight Wine Tours. Excellent service from the moment we booked on the phone and arranged pickup from our accommodation just outside Blenheim. We had a wonderful tour around the local wineries. We had a great lunch, as this was not included, it gave us great scope to decide what and how much we wanted to eat. Our tour continued in the afternoon, culminating with a trip to a chocolate factory. Then finally a trip back to our accommodation. A superb day. Big thanks to the Highlight Wine Tours team.

This Marlborough tour option allows you to travel to 7 different venues throughout the day. Travel at your own pace and take your time as you enjoy all the local wine and beer tastings on offer along our bus route. Marlborough Afternoon Tour 

This option allows up to 4 venues with Hop On Hop Off bus tours. Take advantage of the discounts offered at selected venues while you enjoy a wine tasting at any of the local Marlborough wineries along our bus route, or beer tasting experience at the local breweries.

Cruise Ship Day Tour 

This option is only available on Cruise Ship Days from Picton. Take advantage of over 25 stops to experience everything that Marlborough has to offer with your time in Port! With our private tours, you can have the whole bus and the driver to yourselves for the day! We will help you plan your itinerary so no need to worry if you are not familiar with the region. You do need to book all your stops in advance with our local wineries. Note the price of tastings etc. are not included in your bus tour ticket. Our biking guides and tastings at the wineries were perfect! Nice to have a van following in case anyone tired or tasted too much. Enjoyed a wonderful day on the bike cycling the back lanes and country roads to 5 or so wineries. Many lunch options and/or places to sit down and soak up the views, the wine and enjoy local cheese plates. Pick-up and drop off to Blenheim motel allowed for ample sampling to take place plus suggestions and tour map made for a relaxing day. Great way to see the area and taste the produce.
