Tour visits : Sebatu Water Temple, Penelokan Kintamani, Batur Volcano, Ubud, Goa Gajah, Lunch at local restaurant

Sebatu Water Temple with a beautiful Suva toe temple which is not so big, but the whole temple seems to become a park among forests in the circumference. The tour continues to Penelokan Kintamani with the location 1.450 meters above sea level, Penelokan is a spectacular site to take pleasure in viewing Gunung Batur or Batur Volcano. Next tour is to Ubud In central Bali - the island's cultural heart, with art galleries and cafes set among rice paddies and jungle. On the way back to your hotel, you will visit Goa Gajah (the Elephant Cave), which is located in a steep valley just outside of Ubud near the town of Bedulu. The cave was built at least 700 years ago, rediscovered in the 1920s and fully excavated 30 years later. Enjoy your day before go back to your hotel.

Start the tour from your hotel to visit Kehen Temple. Its splendid closed Balinese gateway leads to a unique shrine of 11 tapering meru roofs, the highest architectural honor that can be bestowed on this temple believed to be the resting place for the visiting gods. Next visit is Besakih Temple, the largest holy site in Bali and home to the island's Mother Temple, located on the slopes of Mount Agung (3,142 meters). The temple is comprised of 3 main complexes dedicated to the Hindu Trinity. It was built during the late 8th century AD. Next stop is Putung, the beautiful viewpoint to Mt. Agung. In Tenganan you will see An original Balinese 'aga' village and home to a distinctive ancient culture where strict mores and cultural taboos are still rigidly enforced. Distinctly different from other villages in Bali with its broad avenues and its rare geringsing weaving methods, the gates of Tenganan are locked to the outside world each night. You'll also enjoy the Bat Cave (Goa Lawah) which has a subterranean connection to sacred Mt. Agung, the roof of this temple, set at the entrance to a sacred cave, is blanketed by thousands of bats. An awesome sight, especially if the resident pythons have crawled out on a ledge to "eye" the tourists and worshippers. And on the way back to hotel you will visit Kertagosa which is located at Klungkung, was the oldest kingdom on the island and its "Raja" the most exalted. Kertha Gosa (The Court Hall) and Taman Gili (The Floating Pavilion) were formerly parts of Semarapura Palace of Klungkung Kingdom, built in the 18th century. A main gate or the royal palace well known as "Pemedal Agung" is hitherto standing intactly at the Western part of the Court Hall and the Floating Pavilion. For its ceiling painted in the traditional wayang style portraying punishment in hell and the rewards in heaven and other aspects of moralities. The floating pavilion, garden and lotus ponds in this walled- in complex, located on the main intersection of town are a reminder of the former glory of this kingdom.

The first stop of the day will be at the dramatic Tanah Lot sea temple. This is one of the splendid temples in Bali. Perching atop an enormous rock, it is completely surrounded by the waters of the Indian Ocean during high tide. Later, a visit to Alas Kedaton Holy Monkey Forest, where hundreds of "tame" and very mischievous monkeys live in the forest surrounding the temple. Also enjoy your day at Jatiluwih and Mount Batukaru. On the upper slopes, Pura Luhur Batukaru, one of Bali's most important and least visited temples, is nestled at the edge of a deep forest. This is a realm for meditation, endless forest hikes or bird watching. Heading eastward, the flank of the mountain nourishes the rice fields of Jatiluwih, a stunning man-made wonder of boundless rice terraces facing the ocean. Then up to Bedugul and see the interesting fruit and vegetable market, and beautiful lakeside temple. Baha Village is waiting to be explored also, here the population is dominated by workers and the traditional farming community, who own wide rice fields, and by the "Subak" organization that mainly functions to regulate water distribution for irrigation.

Your driver will pick you up bright and early in your classic VW all terrain jeep for a day of adventure at Bali’s Mount Batur volcano. Drive through the scenic beauty of Bali’s rice terraces and lush vegetation. Stop at Penelokan, where you will reach the rim of a huge caldera, 14 kilometers across, with a breathtaking view of Mount Batur.

• Hop into a classic VW jeep and ride in style all day
• Travel to Mount Batur, an active volcano
• Pass rice paddies, local villages, and temples
• Soothe away your aches and pains in natural hot springs

Your safari via the truck route into the old crater, where you will encounter huge lava flows which have covered most of the vegetation. On the edge of the caldera there are big trees which are inhabited by wild monkeys. From here you will climb up a lava dune with a beautiful view of the mountain and the black lava. Your guide will explain about the thirty million years of history that formed this area and surroundings.

After an adventurous drive around the mountain, you will stop to meet the local famers on your way to the natural hot springs. Soothe away all your aches and pains at the natural hot springs of Batur. You will have a buffet lunch before continuing the trip. Follow the road to a coffee plantation, where you will learn all about the production of coffee. At the end of the tour, you will be driven back to your hotel.

The most unique tour in Bali

Central Bali

Afterwards we take you on an easy 40 minute morning hike through incredible scenic rice fields in the Ubud area. This is the place where your guide explains everything about rice growing in Bali and the world famous irrigation system making it possible.

A short drive away is the  Goa Garba , mostly unknown by tourists. An 11 th century hermitage cave , with an ancient spectacular Gate carved in the cliff of a  river valley. You can still feel the mystic of the ancient Hindu kingdoms.

The VW jeep .tour continues uphill and eventually you reach the Batur caldera. Here you can enjoy stunning  vistas of the volcano and Batur lake,  Balis largest sweet water crater lake.

A highlight of the Central Bali tour is the adventurous drive into the old caldera and through the lava fields.  Here you can take a little walk and your guide explains everything about vulcanoes in Bali.

Back  at the rim of the caldera enjoy a buffet lunch again with gorgeous views. In the afternoon we take you to a holy spring where the Balinese perform cleansing rituals, Pura  Gunung Kawi Sebatu . A great place for taking pictures of the beautiful pools and the exotic old statues.

A short drive takes you to the incredible and famous riceterraces of Pakudui and Tegallalang  where you have time to take plenty of photos.

He made sure to give us history and background of every spot we stopped at. SO informative. We took many guided tours when in Bali, and this is by far the best way to see this beautiful island! Feeling the wind in your face, waving to all the locals, smelling all the jungle smells, being able to look up at the sky and see all the trees and views was WELL worth the price (would have paid double for this experience) for a guided tour in his rad vintage VW Thing. The VW thing was so much fun, highly recommended. Car was super cool , he had water and cold towels on board , little things matter. Sentanu was all in one: driver, photographer, tour guide. Extremely likeable person. Went on a wonderful 6 hours tour of Ubud Bali and stopped at some waterfalls, temples, rice terraces and for a great lunch at Deli Cafe. Terrific driver and lots of fun. It rained but we did get the roof off for a bit. Great tour of Ubud - highly recommended. Driver dropped us off at the central market after picking us from our hotel.
