Lipp and the Slacktones were so much fun. Their music was fun and a great start to the night. Such a talented band. Enjoyed them as much as we enjoyed Donna the Buffalo. They never disappoint. Highly recommend. You simply can’t leave without a smile on your face which is what I noticed on everyone’s face. Fun time.

Great high energy show. This was the second time we have seen them and once again they played non-stop for two and a half hours. They are incredible musicians. They seem to get lost in the music and respond to each other musically more than any other band I know.

Donna the Buffalo joined forces with legendary Producer/ Engineer Rob Fraboni to record Dance in the Street at Sonic Ranch Studio in El Paso, Texas.   Best known as producer of The Last Waltz soundtrack, Fraboni is also acclaimed for his work with Bob Dylan, The Band, Eric Clapton, and The Rolling Stones.   Fraboni set out to capture the essence of Donna The Buffalo’s live performances on a studio record. He had the band record in a circle directly to tape. Dance In The Street is a fully analog recording all the way to vinyl. The track list alternates in his-and-hers fashion; even so, Nevins believes the album makes a cohesive statement. “We think of it as painting a picture and I like the picture that we’ve painted with this record,” she says.

Donna The Buffalo is not just a band, rather one might say that Donna The Buffalo has become a lifestyle for its members and audiences. The band has played thousands of shows and countless festivals including Bonnaroo, Newport Folk Festival, Telluride, Austin City Limits Festival, Merle Fest, and Philadelphia Folk Festival.   At several festivals Donna The Buffalo has become the house band for closing the events by backing up artists including The Avett Brothers, Keller Williams, Zac Brown, Bela Fleck, John Paul Jones, and Chris Thile. They’ve opened for The Dead and have toured with Peter Rowan, Del McCoury, Los Lobos, Little Feat, Jim Lauderdale, Rusted Root, and Railroad Earth to name a few. They also toured with Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Ben Cohen to help raise awareness about increased corporate spending in politics.   In 1991, the band started the Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg, NY. The four day festival has become an annual destination for over 15,000 music lovers every year and was started as an AIDS benefit. It continues as a benefit for arts and education. To date, the event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and is now one of three Grassroots Festivals; the Bi-annual Shakori Hills fest in North Carolina and Virginia Key festival in Florida. In 2016 GrassRoots Culture Camp was introduced in Trumansburg, New York as four days of music, art, dance and movement workshops, including nightly dinners and dances.  

The most loyal fans in the Herd are always eager to accept a call to action. Last year Donna the Buffalo started a crowdfunding campaign to buy a new tour bus; within three weeks, they had raised $90,000.   “You can imagine how validating that felt for us,” Nevins says, still overwhelmed at the generosity.

By creating a bridge between generations, Donna the Buffalo attracts one of the broadest demographics on the festival circuit.   When Nevins encounters young women in the autograph line, she likes to write “Girl Power!” She’s proud to see them looking up at the stage and watching a female musician really getting down, comprehending that they could do the same thing one day.    In addition, Puryear has noted that Vietnam veterans have gravitated to the band. During a songwriting workshop, Puryear sang “Killing A Man,” which examines the complicated psychological ramifications of ending another person’s life. He felt uncertain about recording it, he says, until a veteran came up and asked him how he got those emotions exactly right.

Donna the Buffalo draws on a lot of musical influences, from country and rock ‘n’ roll, to bluegrass and old-time fiddle, as well as Cajun and Zydeco.   In many ways, they were Americana before the term was ever coined. The common thread? Songs of the human spirit, and an incredibly tight relationship with their fans.

“The fans, they show up to be a part of it. We show up to be a part of it,” Puryear says. “And we don’t have an intimidating vibe where we’re different than them.   If a scene is really on, it doesn’t matter whether you’re watching, listening, dancing, or playing – it’s on, everybody knows it’s on and it feels great! I think that’s the nature of the connection.”

The Steel Wheels, known for their rootsy brand of Americana, also gathers their fans at their own festival, the Red Wing Roots Music Festival. The festival, a weekend-long celebration of music, community, and the beautiful Shenandoah Valley allows The Steel Wheels to showcase their music informed by traditional sounds from the Virginia mountains where the band was formed.

Travis Kelce Shares How His Family Is Navigating Fame Amid Taylor Swift Romance

Travis kelce explained how his parents, donna kelce and ed kelce, along with older brother jason kelce, have dealt with being thrust into international fame amid his relationship with taylor swift..

Travis  Kelce' s loved ones are handling life in the spotlight all too well.  

One year after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end debuted his relationship with Taylor Swift , he reflected on how parents Donna and Ed Kelce , along with older brother Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie Kelce , have adjusted to international fame. 

"It's the life I chose," Travis told CBS Mornings Sept. 5. "I have fun with it. It comes with the territory." "Everybody's loving it," he continued. "Mama Kelc is having so much fun. I think my dad is slowly getting more comfortable with it and Jason has always been a pro at it."

In fact, as the Kelce crew has become more accustomed to the limelight, they've found ways to shine on their own, whether it's Donna starring in Super Bowl commercials and her upcoming role co-hosting the 2024 Pillsbury Bake-Off or former field hockey player Kylie holding clinics for young players. 

As for Jason, who retired from the Philadelphia Eagles in March after 13 years ? Well, his career on the field landed him a new role with ESPN as a commentator for Monday Night Football . 

"ESPN was a consistent presence in our household growing up," the 36-year-old wrote in his May statement. "The network helped shape who I am and my love of all sports." 

And he'll navigate that all while continuing his hit podcast New Heights with Travis, with the pair signing a $100 million three-year deal for their podcast with Amazon's Wondery.

But amid the success,  Jason—who shares kids daughters Wyatt , 4, Elliotte , 3, and Bennett , 18 months with wife Kylie—has admitted that Taylor and Travis' headline-making romance has made big waves for the family's day-to-day life , especially when they go out with either of them. 

"It's been crazy," the 36-year-old explained on The Whiskey Ginger podcast in June. "Travis and Taylor have taken it to another level and that's a whole other side of it." 

As he put it, "You can't be a normal person at that point."

Despite it all, Jason noted that his little brother has "stayed true to himself." 

"He's humble," he said. "He treats everyone with the utmost respect, like they're equals, regardless of who they are." 

And Travis credits Taylor with how she's navigated this level of fame for so long. 

"The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she's just living, enjoying life," he told WSJ. Magazine in November. "When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange."

July 2023: So, Make the Friendship Bracelets

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce 's love story began in July 2023, when the singer's Eras Tour made a stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.

As a huge Swiftie, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end caught the show with hopes of giving Taylor a friendship bracelet with his number on it . However, he failed to complete the pass due to her pre-show rituals.

"I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings," Travis shared on the July 26 episode of his  New Heights podcast. "So, I was a little butt-hurt I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her."

Summer 2023: This Is Him Trying

After publicly recounting his fumble—a move Taylor would later describe as "metal as hell" —Travis decided to shoot his shot and invite the Grammy winner to watch the Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium.

"I threw it out there, I threw the ball in her court," he shared on The Pat McAfee Show . "I told her, you know, 'I've seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead, you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one's a little more lit.' So, we'll see what happens in the near future."

August 2023: Enchanted to Meet You

Travis was rocking a mustache—which he debuted in August during training camp—when he was first introduced to Taylor .

As he later noted of the era, "That 'stache and the 87 jersey was pretty iconic there for a little bit, and I had it when I met Taylor for the first time."

September 2023: Sparks Fly

By early September, a source close to the situation told E! News that Travis and Taylor were " texting and talking here and there ."

"It's been very low-key," the insider explained, "as he's been in season."

September 2023: Cheer Captain

Accepting Travis' invite, Taylor joined the athlete's mom Donna Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium to watch him and the Chiefs take on the Chicago Bears. After the game, Taylor and Travis were seen packing PDA at a local bar .
